  1. Get ready Disney fans — there are BIG changes coming your way, this time in the world of streaming. Disney+ Disney has already been cracking down on password sharing for its streaming services, revealed its streaming bundle with Max, discussed the Disney+ app getting an ESPN tile by the end of this year, and announced its new sports streaming service (Venu) (though the launch of that service has hit a snag). But MORE updates have been revealed. Recently, Disney has made some big Disney+ updates — a price increase hit the service not too long ago (with more expected in the future), and continuous playlists are available now too. During the Q4 earnings call for fiscal year 2024, Disney shared more Disney+ news. First of all, the company ended the quarter with 174 million Disney+ Core and Hulu subscriptions, as well as more than 120 million Disney+ Core paid subscribers. That’s an increase of 4.4 million over the prior quarter. Mirabel! But the big update is that on December 4th, the ESPN tile will debut on Disney+! The company will include some live sports and other ESPN programs directly in Disney+, even if you’re not an ESPN+ subscriber. ©Disney However, this update means that more price increases are on the horizon for Disney+. “We certainly look to continue to increase pricing based on the value we’re providing,” said Hugh Johnston, CFO of The Walt Disney Company. ©ESPN If you DO have the Disney bundle (Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+), you’ll have full access to all three services within the Disney+ app. Disney expects to later launch its stand-alone ESPN “Flagship” streaming service in the fall of 2025. At that time, anyone who subscribes to ESPN Flagship and Disney+ will have the full suite of ESPN and ESPN+ content available in Disney+. We expect changes will continue to be made to Disney+ in the coming years as Disney’s streaming goals change and evolve. ©Disney We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more updates on this and let you know what we find! 2. The Walt Disney Company recently held its fourth quarter and final earnings call for the year, and we learned quite a bit about just how the company is doing overall. Walt Disney Studios With new lands coming to the Disney parks, new ships being added to Disney Cruise Line, plenty of new movies and shows coming to theaters and Disney+, and more, the future seems pretty bright for the Walt Disney Company. But Disney World and much of Florida were impacted in various ways by recent hurricanes, and now we have an idea of just how much. On November 14th, the Walt Disney Company held its fourth-quarter earnings call for 2024, and we learned just how the company was doing- and how much money had been lost due to the recent Florida hurricanes. Magic Kingdom entrance the day after Hurricane Milton Hurricane Milton made its way across Florida and caused the closure of the Walt Disney World theme parks. This was one of the very few times in Disney World history that the parks have closed. While they were only closed for about a day and a half, there was quite an impact on the parks overall. The parks closed due to Hurricane Milton While Hurricane Helene did not close the parks, the storm canceled one night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. As mentioned above, the parks were not the only parts of Disney World that closed during Hurricane Milton; so did certain hotels, and a night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was canceled. On top of all of the closures, Disney World waived its cancelation fees. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground closed for Hurricane Milton We expected that both of these storms would significantly damage the Walt Disney Company’s revenue, but after the quarter four report, we know just how much was lost. Rainy day at Hollywood Studios ahead of Hurricane Milton It was reported today that the Q1 operating income was adversely impacted by approximately $130 million due to Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Overcast skies after Hurricane Milton In comparison, when Hurricane Ian hit Florida in 2022, the company lost about $65 million. While Disney World and Florida have already been impacted by two hurricanes this year, a storm system is currently being monitored and has a 90% chance of developing. If it does develop, the storm’s name will be Sara. ©NHC || System as of November 13th We’ll continue to share what we’ve learned from the most recent Walt Disney Company earnings call with you — so stay tuned for the latest updates! 4. Buckle up, folks. Disney has just made some HUGE announcements, and we’ve got all the details you need to know right here. Magic Kingdom On November 14th, 2024, Disney held its Earnings Call (and released its Earnings Report) for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2024. These earnings calls and reports typically provide some big reveals about how the company is doing financially when it comes to the theme parks, Disney+, and more — and this earnings call/report was no exception. So, let’s dive into the updates YOU need to know about. 1 — Overall Financial Results First, let’s look at the big picture. In terms of overall financial results for the Walt Disney Company as a whole this quarter, Disney CEO Bob Iger shared, “This was a pivotal and successful year for the Walt Disney Company, we have emerged from a period of considerable challenges and disruption well positioned for growth and optimistic about our future.” ©Disney Here’s a peek at the financial numbers: Revenues for the quarter: $22.6 billion, up 6% from prior-year quarter Diluted earnings per share: $0.25, up 79% from prior-year quarter Diluted earnings per share, excluding certain items: $1.14, up 39% from prior-year quarter ©Disney Iger continued his statement, and said, “Our solid performance in the fiscal fourth quarter reflected the success of our strategic efforts to improve quality, innovation, efficiency, and value creation. In Q4 we saw one of the best quarters in the history of our film studio, improved profitability in our streaming businesses, a record-breaking 60 Emmy Awards for the company, the continued power of live sports, and the unveiling of an impressive collection of new projects coming to our Experiences segment. As a result of our strategies and our focus on managing our businesses for both the near- and long-term, we are differentiating ourselves from traditional competitors, leveraging the deepest and broadest set of entertainment assets in the industry to drive attractive returns and further advance our goals.” 2 — Disney+ Updates One of the biggest focuses when it comes to Disney’s finances is often Disney+ and Iger’s quest to make streaming profitable. During the third quarter of fiscal year 2024, Disney discussed its streaming service price increases and more details surrounding the password crackdowns. So how did things go this quarter? Well, Disney+ ended the quarter with 174 million Core and Hulu subscriptions and more than 120 million Disney+ Core paid subscribers, an increase of 4.4 million over the prior quarter. Streaming operating income increased to $321 million this quarter, compared to last year’s quarter the ended with a $387 million loss. Disney+ The Direct-to-Consumer (Disney+) revenues increased by 15% during Q4, which Disney attributes to higher effective rates due to increases in pricing, partially offset by an unfavorable foreign exchange impact. Additionally, there was an increase in advertising revenue to due higher impressions, lower marketing costs, higher technology and distribution costs, and more. ©Disney There have been several streaming updates lately — from canceled shows to new continuous playlists and more. We’ll continue to watch how this area of the company changes and develops in the coming months and years, so stay tuned for updates. What’s It Gonna Take for Disney+ To FIX Its Content Problem? Click Here to Find Out 3 — Theme Park Updates From the world of entertainment, let’s move on to theme parks, Disney Cruise Line, and merchandise (a.k.a. the Disney Experiences division). During the 3rd quarter of fiscal year 2024, the division reported an overall increase in revenue, but operating income decreased compared to the same quarter in 2023. Demand for Disney’s domestic parks had actually been “flat.” One Disney executive explained that there were several factors at play including the stress felt by the lower-income consumer and the fact that higher-income consumers are traveling internationally a little more. Disney warned that there would be a continuation of those trends. Spaceship Earth at EPCOT So…how did things go during this past quarter (Q3)? Disney reports that the Experiences segment had “record revenue and operating income for the full year.” During Q4, Experiences revenue increased by $0.1 billion, or 1%, and operating income of $1.7 billion was a decline of $0.1 billion, or 6% compared to the prior-year quarter. ©Disney Disney explained some of the reasons for these results. Domestic Parks & Experiences operating income increased this quarter, with comparable attendance to the prior-year quarter. This was primarily driven by higher guest spending and was partially offset by higher expenses and costs related to new offerings from Disney Cruise Line. Additionally, the increase in operating income at the domestic parks and experiences can be attributed to more per capita guest spending at the theme parks and on the cruise line, lower sales of Disney Vacation Club units, and higher costs primarily due to inflation, new guest offerings, higher operations support costs, and more. Some of these costs were offset by the comparison to depreciation related to the closure of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel. Tree of Life As far as the International Parks & Experiences are concerned, the operating income declined in the fourth quarter. Disney attributes these losses to declines in attendance and an increased cost due to new guest offerings and higher depreciation. As well, there has been a decrease in guest spending at the theme parks, but that was partially offset by an increase in per-room spending at the resorts. Disney had previously warned that Q4 would be consistent with what was seen in Q3 in terms of “flat” demand for its domestic parks, and it seems as though that is the case here. Between major changes to the Lightning Lane system at Disney World, refurbishments galore, and pending expansions teased for the parks, a LOT is going on in this division of the Company. We’ll be keeping you up to date on ALL the latest info — so stay tuned! Click here for EVERYTHING we know about the major expansion planned for Magic Kingdom 4 — ESPN Now let’s turn to ESPN. If you’re a fan of sports, you may have heard about Disney’s new sports streaming service — Venu — and the news that ESPN will get its own tile on Disney+ by the end of the year. But things got complicated for Venu earlier in 2024 when a federal judge blocked plans for the service to come to fruition. So what’s the latest update here? ©ESPN The operating income for Disney’s sports segment of the business was $0.9 billion, a decline of $0.1 billion compared to the prior-year quarter. Domestic ESPN advertising revenue in Q4 grew 7% over the same time during Q4 of 2023. Disney attributes these losses to higher programming and production costs due to an increase in college football rights costs, partially offset by lower NFL rights costs as a result of airing one fewer game in the current quarter. Disney is ramping up its focus on live sports with the “beginning of an exciting new era for ESPN.” But what does that mean?! Well, starting on December 4th, an ESPN tile is debuting within the Disney+ app that will allow sports fans an easier way to access their preferred entertainment. Even if you aren’t an ESPN+ subscriber, you’ll still be able to access this content on Disney+. Click here to read about Venu 5 — MORE It was a great year for Disney at the box office as well. Pixar’s Inside Out 2 and Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine broke multiple box office records and helped drive $316 million in operating income at Content Sales/Licensing and Other in Q4. ©Disney Disney also reported that operating income was “adversely impacted” by approximately $130 million due to Hurricanes Helene and Miltion, and approximately $90 million due to Disney Cruise Line pre-launch costs. Magic Kingdom entrance the day after Hurricane Milton That’s a basic look at how the Walt Disney Company is doing now in its main divisions. 5. WHAT is going on with the crowds in Disney World? Entrance to EPCOT During the Q3 earnings call in August of 2024, Disney revealed that demand for its domestic parks had been “flat.” (CEO Bob Iger had actually predicted that attendance would go down.) One Disney executive explained that higher-income consumers are traveling internationally more, while lower-income consumers are feeling a little bit of stress. Disney also warned that there could be a continuation of those trends in terms of the “top line.” So just what’s happening with the crowds now? Has demand gone up or down since we last heard from Disney? We’ve got an update. On November 14th, 2024, Disney held its earnings call (and released its earnings report) for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2024. In that report, we learned that the operating income for domestic parks & experiences increased by 5% year over year. While the operating income for international parks & experiences decreased by 32% year over year. Hollywood Studios Disney attributed the increase in domestic operating income to an increase in guest spending at their theme parks and cruise lines. Disney did mention that they experienced higher costs due to inflation, new guest offerings, increased technology spending, and higher operations support costs. Disney’s Animal Kingdom As well, Disney noted that there were lower sales of Disney Vacation Club units. However, some of those increased costs were offset by the comparison to depreciation related to the closure of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser The international park & experiences had a significant decrease in operating income due to declines in attendance and an increased cost due to new guest offerings and higher depreciation. As well, there has been a decrease in guest spending at the theme parks, but that was partially offset by an increase in per room spending at the resorts. Disneyland Paris ©Disney Disney had previously warned that Q4 would be consistent with what was seen in Q3 in terms of “flat” demand for its domestic parks. But Disney CFO Hugh Johnston seemed unconcerned about the expectations, noting “this is just going to be a few quarters, and we’ll be fine coming out of it.” EPCOT In recent weeks, we have seen some wait times plummeting to some of the lowest of the year, combined with some increases in wait times at certain rides — so things can vary and change. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Disney certainly seems to be expressing at least some level of confidence in its domestic parks with the large expansions and major rethemes announced for Disney World and Disneyland. Villains Land in Magic Kingdom ©Disney We’ll be keeping an eye on crowd levels, wait times, and more in the parks to see just how the financial spending trends may impact the park experience. 8. A BIG addition is coming to Disneyland Park! Disneyland We’ve been watching the construction of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure for months now, and after the opening of the same ride in Magic Kingdom, we’re even more eager to check out the Disneyland version. It’s opening soon, and now we’ve got a FIRST LOOK inside the ride! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disneyland is set to open on November 15th, 2024. The ride features a storyline set after the finale of The Princess and the Frog, with Tiana, Naveen, and Louis planning a massive bayou celebration. As part of a media event, we got to set foot on the ride a little bit early. Let’s go to the bayou! However, there’s one big problem — the party needs musicians! Tiana and Louis head into the bayou to search for some talented critters to play at the party and find some surprises along the way. The ride features several songs from the film, as well as an all-new tune in the finale. Tiana animatronic We’ve already gotten the chance to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure several times in Disney World, but now we’re eager to check out the Disneyland version. Starting with the queue, you enter the attraction area and you’re immediately greeted by the office and kitchen area of Tiana’s Foods. Where the magic happens There are plenty of hidden details throughout the queue, including photos of Tiana and her family. Photo wall We even spotted the recipe for the gumbo that Tiana’s dad makes. She framed it along with his signature gumbo spoon — how sweet! A recipe Before you get to the loading area, you’ll spot a small screen that shows the safety video. Let’s ride! Safety presentation Once you board the log, you’re off on a bayou adventure! Here, the ride was very similar to the Magic Kingdom version, except it seems to have a little less “dead space” throughout. Up the hill You first take a lap outside of the mountain and ride through the garden area. Such a pretty view! We could see the Sailing Ship Columbia from up here! Then, it’s time to head down into the bayou and search for some critters. There are several animatronics of Tiana and Louis throughout. Hey Louis! We spotted some musical critters — let’s take them to the party! Critters Of course, one of the most stunning scenes is the room with all the fireflies. Ray’s whole family showed up to party with us. Fireflies After that, it was time to dig a little deeper with Mama Odie. Who’s ready for the big drop?! Gotta dig a little deeper! We took a short lap around the base of the mountain and then headed to Tiana and Naveen’s party. It’s a Mardi Gras celebration! Heading to the party Here we spotted Lottie and Eudora in their finest party clothes… Amazing animatronics …as well as Tiana, Naveen, and Louis. This scene features a brand-new song, written for the ride! The whole gang is here! And that’s a wrap on our visit to the bayou! Stay tuned to DFB for more updates about this new attraction. 12. You said you were looking for a bite at a place that was out of this world, right? Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a one-of-a-kind eatery that transports you to a retro drive-in movie experience, complete with classic sci-fi films, B-movie trailers, and seating in car-shaped booths, and right now, we’re taking you with us to check out some NEW eats! Atmosphere The atmosphere at Sci-Fi Dine-In is 100% its main attraction. As soon as you enter, you’re greeted by a hostess who leads you into a “drive-in” under the stars. The tables are arranged in rows of classic ‘50s-style convertibles, all facing a massive screen. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant Each car has its own row of seats, so you’re lined up like you’re at an actual drive-in, which gives it a fun and intimate vibe. You can almost forget you’re indoors! Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant The restaurant is dimly lit to create a nighttime drive-in feel. While the dining setup can be a bit quirky, you can’t deny that the immersive theme is charming, unique, and perfect for anyone looking to be transported to another time. Menu When it comes to the menu, you’ll find that it features your typical all-American cuisine. Think things like burgers, sandwiches, wings, salads, and a handful of appetizers. ©Disney Now, don’t sleep on those drink and dessert options too. Okay, moving on to the main reason you’re here — the food and drinks. Eats We were on a mission to try two NEW items: the Beamed-Up Burger and the Prime Rib Sandwich. Let’s start with the Beamed-Up Burger which is a double-patty smash burger featuring American cheese, shredded lettuce, jalapeño-bourbon-bacon jam, and house-made burger sauce on a brioche bun for $23. Beamed-Up Burger If you’re a burger lover, this one doesn’t disappoint. The double smash patties are flavorful and juicy, and the quality of the beef is surprisingly good for theme park fare. The brioche bun holds up well without overpowering the ingredients, giving each bite a great balance of flavor. Beamed-Up Burger But the real standout here is the jalapeño-bourbon-bacon jam. It’s smoky, spicy, and just sweet enough to make this burger feel more unique. Bits of crispy bacon in the jam add texture, and the spice is mild but satisfying. As for the toppings, the shredded lettuce adds a crisp freshness that you might not expect but definitely appreciate. Beamed-Up Burger Is it worth $23? Well, in the world of Disney prices, it’s on par with what you’d expect, and at least you’re getting a high-quality burger in a memorable setting. This might be one of the better burger options in the park if you’re willing to splurge. Next up, let’s talk about the Prime Rib Sandwich, which was a bit more of a mixed experience. It features shaved prime rib, provolone cheese, house-made giardiniera (a pickled veggie mix), arugula, and a side of au jus on a toasted hoagie roll for $24. Prime Rib Sandwich It certainly looks impressive, with a good amount of beef and fresh arugula peeking out from the toasted bread. But when it comes to flavor, here’s where it falls a bit short of expectations. The prime rib, unfortunately, was on the colder side and lacked that melt-in-your-mouth quality you’d hope for. There’s a cafeteria-like blandness to the beef, which is surprising for a “prime rib” item. Prime Rib Sandwich On the positive side, the provolone adds a delicious creaminess, and the au jus is flavorful, with a savory depth. The pickled veggies add a pop of flavor that elevates each bite. But overall, the sandwich felt like it needed something more. Would we get it again? Probably not, but it’s still a good option for anyone who isn’t in the mood for a burger. So, what’s our verdict on the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant?! Overall All in all, the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant is a destination that’s worth visiting for the experience, even if it’s just once. It may not be the best place for those seeking culinary highs, but the fun factor and atmosphere make up for the price of entry. Full Spread If you’re planning a visit, we’d recommend sticking with the burger or other classic options to avoid any disappointments. Otherwise, just buckle up, sit back, and let the Sci-Fi Dine-In transport you to a world of retro-futuristic fun! Nosh or Not Make a stop at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant if… You’re looking for a spot that’s got a completely unique vibe. You want a solid burger option that’s a bit elevated from a standard theme park cheeseburger. You’re looking for a one-of-a-kind, retro, immersive dining experience. Consider going elsewhere if… You’re looking for a less expensive option. You want to choose from a large menu of truly standout eats. You’re looking for the most comfortable seating arrangements. 13. Christmas has started at Disney World and we are here for it! Christmas is here! We love seeing all of the Christmas decor in the parks. From the classic wreaths on Main Street USA to the floating ornaments in Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it just gives us all the vibes. We’ve been on the hunt for our own Christmas decor to add to our home and we recently tried the cutest night light that is sure to spread some holiday cheer. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Santa Night Light Isn’t he adorable? We brought the Santa night light with us to Disney to test it out. First, can we just appreciate how adorable Santa is? We wanted to share what we liked about the light. It’s not too big, it’s got a soft plastic body to it (the bottom is a harder plastic) but if you’ve got a little one that really likes it and wants to snuggle with it to sleep it’s not a harsh light. It is rechargeable. But we also wanted to share what we would change able it. It’s rechargable which is a blessing and a curse. You don’t have to buy batteries for it, but remembering to charge it intermittently will be the trick. We can see where if you forgot to recharge it from the night before you could have a disappointed kid at bedtime when the light isn’t charged. Here’s how bright it can be We love how the light is dimmable. The above show’s how bright Santa can get. Lower setting We also like the lower setting for little ones to actually sleep with. The light can last up to 6-8 hours and has a 30-minute timer feature that you can use to help kids fall asleep. It is a nice decoration to bring with you on trips that’s small enough to fit into your suitcase, and for home, it would be adorable in your kids’ room. For the price, we think it is so cute. It’s a fun festive light for regular home decor or for your kiddos who might have forgotten to leave those cookies and glass of milk out for Santa and need to sneak down to the kitchen in the middle of the night. 14. Disneyland is BUSY right now — a lot of stuff is going on in the parks and at Downtown Disney. Disneyland Downtown Disney is getting LOADS of new restaurants plus a newly revamped sweets shop (YES!!!). California Adventure is getting a new Avatar-themed land and a new Coco ride. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is getting ready to open SOON in Disneyland. Haunted Mansion is getting a new queue and dedicated gift shop. Well, we just got our first look at the new gift shop because the construction walls are DOWN. As we mentioned, Haunted Mansion (which is currently running as Haunted Mansion Holiday) is getting a new queue and gift shop. Because of all the construction around the ride, it’s currently only running with a virtual queue. However, many of the construction walls around the gift shop came down today, so we’ve got a first look at it! It looks like an old carriage house, which perfectly fits in with the New Orleans aesthetic you’ll find at Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion in New Orleans Square. The shop is said to be owned by Madame Leota, of course. New gift shop! Most interesting may be the enigmatic sign above the doors. What does it mean? Is this some kind of way that Madame Leota will commune with spirits while we’re innocently shopping inside? Mysterious sign There’s also some new concept art of the gift shop and the updates to the ride on one of the remaining construction walls. Concept art Then there’s the note from Madame Leota, who promises to return soon with haunting treasures and wonders galore with her official seal. We can’t wait! We guess this will be a lot like Memento Mori in Disney World, with a lot of Haunted Mansion theming and fun details inside. Note from Madame Leota We can’t wait until the shop’s doors open and we can check it out. We’ll let you know when that happens and take you along with us for the ride (no Doom Buggy required). 16. It’s no secret that the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is one of Disney World’s biggest events of the year. Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin With dozens of food booths serving cuisine from around the globe, this festival is MASSIVE and draws in countless visitors each year. But did you know that there’s a SECOND Food & Wine event in Disney World? And you don’t even need a park ticket to attend! It’s almost time for the annual Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic — it takes place November 15th and 16th, 2024. Each year, this event highlights the best of the best when it comes to culinary offerings at the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve hotels with a mini food festival. The 2023 event’s booths To participate in the Food & Wine Classic, you’ll need to purchase tickets ahead of time. You can go either Friday or Saturday night for $195 per person, or you can get a 2-night pass for $330 per person. That may seem pricey, but here’s the kicker — unlike the festivals at EPCOT, your food and beverages are INCLUDED with your ticket! Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic Yep, for this event, you’ll just need to buy your tickets and then you can show up to the Food & Wine Classic and enjoy unlimited food and beverages from the various booths. All along the Causeway, there will be tents set up with eats inspired by the Swan and Dolphin restaurants, as well as various types of cuisine. We got to sample a few of the eats ahead of time at a media event, and we were eating GOOD. Rosa Mexicana food booth There are quite literally dozens of dishes to try, all served in small plate portions so you can taste as many things as possible. In addition to the eats and drinks, the Food & Wine Classic offers entertainment throughout the night in the form of various bands and artists. The pamphlet from 2023 This event is one of our favorites because of its laid-back nature, delicious eats, and general atmosphere. It’s a great option for a date night or an evening out with your friends, and it doesn’t require nearly as much work as walking all the way around EPCOT’s World Showcase. Plus, the idea of paying a flat rate and then eating to your heart’s content is appealing to many people. 17. Disneyland is gearing up to go down the bayou with Tiana and all her friends! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to officially open in Bayou Country on November 15th. In order to ride this new attraction, just like Disney World, you will need to obtain a Virtual Queue or purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass. The good news is you will have three attempts to join the Virtual Queue at 7 AM, 12 PM, and now at 4 PM. Along with the new attraction, Bayou Country has two new gift shops, and one of them opened today! Ray’s Berets, which has replaced The Briar Patch and has already opened! Starting on November 21st, you will be able to find select Tiana merchandise there. For the time being, there is just general Disneyland merchandise in this shop. The second shop, Louis’s Critter Club, took over part of Pooh Corner. Don’t worry, though; you can still find Disney treats and Winnie the Pooh merchandise on the Pooh Corner side of the store. Louis’ Crtitter Club If you did not know, Louis is the trumpet-playing alligator from The Princess and the Frog , and he now has his own “critter club” where friends of the bayou can hang out and hear live music. This gift shop will be a go-to spot for all your Tiana’s Bayou Adventure apparel and other merchandise. We got to take a first look at Louis’ Critter Club, which opened TODAY, November 13th! Let’s take a look inside! Louis’ Critter Club The lighting of the store makes it feel like we are in the bayou! Louis Cuddleez There is no shortage of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise! It is all in the details! We want to go to the Lily Pad Lounge, grab a drink, and watch the show on the stage behind the register! A Closer look at the Lily Pad Lounge We love the stage behind the register, along with everyone’s dressing rooms! The Register A closer look at the stage behind the register. Behind the register There are so many details in this new shop! Louis’ Critter Club There is a nod to some of the band members, who you can hear playing when the attraction opens on November 15th. The Band As we mentioned, this store took over the second half of Pooh Corner, so you will see the transition when you enter the second room. Welcome to Louis’ Critter Club! Outside of the Critter Club are posters for some of the acts that are performed in the club as well as at the attraction! Posters outside These posters are so fun that they make us wish Louis’ Critter Club was actually a lounge and not a gift shop. More posters We are so excited for the transformation of Bayou Country to be complete when Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens later this week! 19. Well, a lot is happening in Magic Kingdom right now. Magic Kingdom Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened earlier this year, but Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closed in 2025 for almost an entire year for a refurbishment. We’re already starting to see some construction happening around that ride. On top of that, a new Cars expansion is coming to Frontierland, which will permanently close Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island. Also, an entire new Villains land is set for the park at some point. Now, MORE change is on the way. A classic Disney World attraction will be closing soon for refurbishment. If you’ll be visiting Magic Kingdom soon, we’ve got a closure in Adventureland to warn you about: Swiss Family Treehouse is not showing any hours for November 18th on the Disney World website. This generally means that an attraction will be closed on that date and beyond. ©Disney The good news is that this closure is a relatively short one — the attraction is showing hours again on December 20th. So it looks like it will only be closed for a little over a month. Swiss Family Treehouse The Swiss Family Treehouse is a walkthrough attraction that takes inspiration from the 1960 Disney movie, Swiss Family Robinson. It originally debuted in Disneyland in 1962, but was an opening day attraction in Adventureland in Disney World in 1971. If you haven’t had a chance to experience it yet (trust us, KIDS love this one), you’ll want to add it to your must-do Disney World list. Reach the summit of the 6-story-high treehouse, and you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of Adventureland and the rest of Magic Kingdom. 21. Happy National Bread Pudding Day! Bread pudding combines my two favorite courses – bread and dessert. Since I love anything with coconut, the Coconut-Pineapple Bread Pudding from Sebastian’s Bistro at Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect way to celebrate National Bread Pudding Day! Our talented culinary team at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort was kind enough to share two variations of their popular Coconut-Pineapple Bread Pudding – the traditional recipe and a delicious plant-based version. After testing both recipes, I couldn’t choose a favorite – so today we’re sharing both recipes. 22. There are quite a few hidden secrets in Disney World. Spaceship Earth From tunnels underneath Cinderella Castle to shortcuts around the resorts, we’ve uncovered quite a few fun details in Disney World over the years. But one of the best hidden secrets is tucked away in EPCOT! Did you know that there’s an abandoned ride in EPCOT? Back when the park was first constructed, the goal was to build not only Biergarten but a ride in the Germany Pavilion castle as well! Germany Pavilion The attraction was supposed to be a Rhine River Cruise, with a trip down the Rhine, the Tauber, the Ruhr, and the Isar. Along the way, you would learn about German history and culture, and the ride would even highlight today’s technology in the country. It was a similar concept to Maelstrom that was built in the Norway Pavilion. Germany Pavilion Along the Rhine River Cruise, riders would have been treated to sights like Black Forest, Oktoberfest, Heidelberg, Cologne Cathedral, and the industrial Ruhr Valley. Sadly, the attraction never came to be due to budget cuts when EPCOT was built. However, part of the attraction’s structure was indeed constructed in the back of the pavilion. Sommerfest To this day, you can walk into the back of Germany and knock on the wall next to Biergarten — you’ll be able to hear that it’s hollow! When the ride got canceled, they simply covered it up with a wall and some lovely artwork. But it stands as a homage to the ride that never was. Currently, the space where the ride was supposed to go is used for storage and rehearsal area. And now, if we want to celebrate German culture, we have to plan a visit to Biergarten instead! This could have been a ride! Sadly, the Germany Pavilion still doesn’t have its own ride, but we can still hope for the future. In the meantime, we’ll drown our sorrows in caramel corn and stroll through the shops! Click Here to See 50 Amazing Things You Never Knew Were in EPCOT! 25. Happy merry holly jolly seasons greetings here! Animal Kingdom Christmas tree Yes friends, it’s THAT time of year, according to Olaf! We’ve been running all around Disney World (but not literally running because that’s against the rules) to check out all the holiday celebrations taking place this year. We’ve already been to two holiday parties and eaten dozens of snacks, but now it’s time for one of the most important Christmas traditions…meeting Santa Claus! This year, you can meet Santa Claus in a variety of spots around Disney World, including all four parks and Disney Springs (if he can travel the whole world in one night, we shouldn’t be surprised that he can pop around Disney World just as fast!). And if you’re hoping to see him in Animal Kingdom this year, you should know that he’s in a NEW location. Santa’s new setup For the past few years, we’ve been able to see Santa Claus on a flotilla, riding along the Discovery River. But this year, he has a traditional meet and greet on the front porch of Restaurantosaurus. The meet and greet area. The meet and greet area is decked out in dino-inspired Christmas decor, and people who love the decorating style of Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures gift shop will be absolutely delighted with the kitschy and chaotic vibe. THIS is “maximalist” Christmas, right here. It’s cheesy in the best way Santa himself sits on a bench, and you can pop a squat down right next to him to say what you want for Christmas, then snap a photo. Of course, he’s as friendly and holly jolly as ever. Make sure to stop and say hi! If you want to stop by and see Santa, you should probably check his showtimes in the My Disney Experience app. If you search “Greet Santa Claus near Restaurantosaurus” a list of available times will pop up for that particular day. He’ll be in the park every day from now until December 24th — he’s got a job to do that evening, after all. The meet and greet space We’ll make sure to keep you updated with the latest news on the holiday season, so stay tuned to DFB! Click Here to Learn More About the Holiday Season in Disney World!
