Hold up. Can you believe it? It’s almost 2025 and that means your Disney World trip is just about here!! Disney’s Animal Kingdom You’ll definitely want to keep an eye on the 2025 calendar so that you know what’s happening at the parks and if you need to catch any events. Also, there’s nothing like planning ahead and missing out on the crowds! To those points, we’re here with a helping hand because we want you to know about all the best times to come to Disney World in 2025! Hear me when I say that the “best time” to visit Disney World is highly subjective, meaning that perfect time is different for everyone. That being said, there are specific times throughout the year when the crowd have thinned a bit and the weather is just perfect! After the holidays and on into February This is when the holiday crowds are gone, kids are back in school, and the parks are somewhat “peaceful” again. Don’t even get us started on that January and February weather. It’s like the chef’s kiss on those long parks days on your feet. January Crowds Also, this is when the ride wait times are some of the shortest of the year. The ticket prices also become a little more budget-friendly. Around the first week of March If you find January and February to be a little bit cold (I see you native Floridians!), you’ll want to head to Disney World from late February to that first week of March. It’s your time to shine! The temperatures are quite nice and the crowds tend to be pretty manageable. Liberty Square in March The ticket prices from around the beginning of March are also pretty reasonable, which makes it a really good time to explore the parks without all the craziness. After Easter and on into early May It’s Spring at Disney World and that means Easter is behind us (and so are those spring break crowds too)! The weather is also just so perfect which makes it the best time to visit during EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival. Spring is here! The weather isn’t the only thing that great about this time. The ticket prices are also typically reasonable (dare-we-say budget-friendly??). After Easter and into May basically checks off all the boxes. Last week of August Let’s just be honest and say we’re thrilled that school is back in session in Florida during this time which means the crowds have really thinned out (yay for shorter wait times!). Magic Kingdom Summer Crowds in August The only thing you do have to keep in mind is that August is the start of the hurricane season for Florida (technically from June – November). Disney World sometimes closes or shifts hours for hurricanes. 2024 was quite a year for that (Helene and Milton), so just keep it in mind and keep an eye on the weather forecast. Disney World before Hurricane Helene Overall, the weather, crowds, and the ticket prices are all pretty manageable in late August. From early to mid-November I know you love the holidays at Disney World (we do too!) and there might not be a better time to experience both Halloween and Christmas decor than from early to mid-November. Holiday decorations on Main Street, U.S.A. Also, the crowd level tends to thin out, which helps relax the mood. Don’t even get us started about the temperature. Mid-60’s to mid-70’s feels downright glorious for all the walking you’ll do in Disney World. The first two weeks of December I know we just talked about the holidays, but if Christmas at Disney World is your thing and you don’t jive with the crowds, you can get the best of the holiday season during these two weeks. You’ll be able to experience all the festive decor all around Disney World. The Holidays in Magic Kingdom The temperature in December rides from the 50s to the 70s, which is downright delightful if you’re headed to Magic Kingdom to enjoy Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Also, ticket prices and crowd levels tend to spike during the Christmas and New Year’s weeks. New attractions in 2025 Go to a water park for free First up, let’s talk about a brand-new perk for you starting in 2025! If you will be staying at one of the Disney-owned hotels, you’ll be able to get FREE entrance into one of Disney World’s water parks on the day you check in to your hotel! That means, when you check in, you can then go and hit up either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach (depending on which one is open during your trip) without needing a ticket. Typhoon Lagoon Make sure to take advantage of this if you and your crew are interested in a pool day on your check-in day! 2 NEW Perks For Your 2025 Disney World Hotel Stay There’s a new Zootopia show! Sometimes we have to say goodbye to attractions in Disney World. In 2025, the “It’s Tough to be a Bug” show in Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life is getting replaced by a brand-new Zootopia-themed show called “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” Your favorite characters from the film like Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and more will be taking you “on an adventure through different biomes seen in the film.” ©Disney Winter 2025 is the current timeline for when the show will debut, so you might want to hit up Disney World during the holidays to be among the first to see it. Read more about the new Zootopia show A new nighttime parade in Magic Kingdom There’s a new nighttime parade in Magic Kingdom coming and we couldn’t be more excited!! It will be called “Disney Starlight,” and will be wowing us by using “the latest technology” to tell new stories about our favorite classic Disney characters. ©Disney We truly can’t wait to catch glimpses of those illuminated floats when Disney Starlight premieres in summer 2025. Read more about Disney Starlight Test Track 3.0 We are “patiently” waiting while Test Track undergoes it’s reimagining with a completely new theme, scenes, and more! Now, we don’t yet know what all the new ride will feature, except for some concept art teasing a nod to World of Motion. ©Disney As we said, everything about this ride will be changing — even the exterior entrance to the ride! Its reopening in 2025 can’t come soon enough! What Will Disney World Change at Test Track? Here Are the 5 Biggest Theories There’s a new villains-themed show coming to Hollywood Studios The new doesn’t stop yet. There will be a Disney Villains new show in Hollywood Studios set to open in summer 2025. It will take place in what is now the Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy and will transform the space into the “mysterious reflective realm of the Magic Mirror.” ©Disney We can’t wait to see the performances by our favorite baddies like Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent! Learn More About A NEW Villains Show Is Coming to Disney World “The Little Mermaid” in Hollywood Studios Summer 2025 is already stacked, but you’ll also be able to look forward to a new show called “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! It will open in the summer of 2025. The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure The new show will be a reimagined show inspired by the original animated classic from Walt Disney Animation Studios. “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” will premiere at the Animation Courtyard theater. When it opens, we can expect musical numbers like “Part of Your World,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” and “Kiss the Girl!” There’s a pirate lounge! While you’re kicking it at Magic Kingdom, you’ll also be able to hang out with pirates at the Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern. Pirates of all ages are encouraged to “gather to tell their tales!” ©Disney This spot is going to have some ridiculously fun pirate-inspired drinks and treats, and we can’t wait until it opens in 2025. The MILLION Dollar Question: Will The New Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern in Disney World Serve Alcohol? Visit a Spaceship Earth-themed lounge because why not? Talking about lounges, over in EPCOT, Disney is creating a lounge inspired by Spaceship Earth! The lounge will have a sleek look inspired by the “stories, shapes and enduring legacy” of Spaceship Earth. ©Disney While this new lounge won’t be inside of Spaceship Earth, it will still be pretty awesome when it opens in 2025! Disney World’s new Lightning Lane option has officially debuted! Lightning Lane In case you missed it, over the summer, Genie+ transformed into Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and Individual Lightning Lane switched over to Lighting Lane Single Pass. This change helped clear up some naming confusion and the new system mimics its predecessor FastPass+. Now, there is a third Lightning Lane option available, and some people have very strong feelings about it. The third option is Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which debuted at Disney World on October 30th. This new pass is only available in very limited quantities, and only those staying at Deluxe Disney World Resorts and other select hotels can purchase it. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is a Deluxe Resort The biggest perk of Premier Pass is that it gives you access to every single Lightning Lane within a park at one time. You do not need to select a return time; you can get into the Lightning Lane line for each attraction at any time throughout the day. The pricing of this new option is what caught people off guard. The price range for each park is as follows: Magic Kingdom: $329-$449 plus tax Disney’s Animal Kingdom: $129-$199 plus tax EPCOT: $169-$249 plus tax Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $269-$349 plus tax Pricing changes based on the demand and the time of year. ©Disney Many Disney fans were upset at the way this new Lightning Lane is priced, but we are here to give you a loving reality check: Disney does not actually want you to buy this new Lightning Lane option for a few reasons. Lightning Lane It is Only Sold in Limited Quantities To start, Premier Pass can only be purchased by a select number of guests. You must stay at a Disney World Deluxe Resort or other select hotels to even be given the opportunity to purchase Premier Pass. Even if you are a guest of a Deluxe Resort, you are still not guaranteed to be able to buy Premier Pass since it is only sold in limited quantities. The Grand Floridian is a Deluxe Resort Disney is purposefully selling Premier Pass this way to limit the number of people who can or even feel like they need to buy this new Lightning Lane. If they were really trying to turn Premier Pass into the only Lightning Lane option, it would be available to everyone. The BoardWalk Inn is a Deluxe Resort There Are Still Two Other Options The price of Premier Pass may seem high, but it can actually be used as a marketing tactic to make Lightning Lane Multi and Single Pass look better. Disney knows that people remember the days of free FastPass+, and it has been a hard adjustment to start paying for a group of rides as well as rides individually. Lightning Lane at Haunted Mansion The price point of Premier Pass makes Lightning Lane Multi and Single Pass seem cheaper and more affordable. So, if you are looking to skip the line, you can still use the other two Lightning Lane options as an alternative. Lightning Lane It is a Cheaper Alternative to VIP Tours Disney World offers VIP Tours where a Cast Member will take you and your party around the parks and through all the Lighting Lanes you wish. VIP Tours can be very pricey and only feel worth it if you bring enough people on the tour to bring the cost down. VIP Tours Premier Pass is a great way to allow those in smaller parties to get one of the biggest perks of a VIP Tour on their own for a fraction of the price. VIP Tours can also sell out, especially as we approach the busy holiday season. So, if you were planning on booking a VIP Tour but the date you want is sold out, Premier Pass can be a great backup, so long as you are staying at a Deluxe Resort or other select hotel. Chatting with a tour guide You are Not Required to Purchase It Premier Pass is a luxury offering, and that is why it is priced so high. Just like Lightning Lane Multi and Single Pass, you do not need to purchase them as they are an add-on option. Disney World still offers a stand-by line or Virtual Queue (Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure still use this service) for all of its attractions. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind All three Lightning Lane options are designed to help you save time waiting in line, but you are not required to purchase them. You can still ride attractions at the price of your park ticket without any additional fees. Mad Tea Party Lightning Lane You Can Still Plan Your Day Around Return Times Lightning Lane Premier Pass has only been available for a limited time, and as we mentioned, the biggest perk is that you do not need a return time to ride an attraction. This helps give you more flexibility to do what you want, when you want, without worrying about a return time. Lightning Lane But trust us, it is still 100% possible to have control and flexibility over your day with both Lightning Lane Multi and Single Pass, even with their return times. Since you can book your Lightning Lanes in advance, you can choose times that work best for you. You can also always refresh the app for more return times or edit your selections to fit into your day. Lightning Lane What we are trying to say is that even when FastPass+ was around, people were able to control still and have flexibility over their day. While Lightning Lane Premier Pass can give you more flexibility, we have plenty of tips on how to make Lightning Lane Multi and Single Pass work for you! While Lightning Lane Premier Pass is expensive, there are still other alternatives, and this new Lighting Lane option is not even available to everyone. So rest assured, Disney is actually pushing you not to purchase Premier Pass. Lightning Lane For more Disney news, tips, and updates, continue to follow along with Disney Food Blog! Disney World will be undergoing a bunch of changes over the next several years. Sunset Showcase Some attractions will be closing to make way for new ones coming. Recently, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy at Disney’s Hollywood Studios closed its doors for the last time as a brand-new Villains show will be coming to Sunset Showcase. The new show is set to premiere next summer, and we have a new update! Disney has shared a look at the new Villains Show at the Sunset Showcase building at Hollywood Studios. The new show will feature some of your favorite Disney Villains, such as Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent, and will transform the stage into the “mysterious, reflective realm of the Magic Mirror.” ©Disney Since its announcement, we haven’t heard any new updates about the new show. But now, we spotted what might be a clue that Disney is working hard behind the scenes to ensure this show comes to life by summer 2025. New casting calls have been added to the Disney Careers website seeking two female performers and one male performer for Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent! ©Disney Online submissions are due by November 15th and must include a monologue and a cut of music. These three villains will likely be the stars of the new show, and naturally, we can expect some musical numbers! In order to apply, you must be 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States. ©Disney This is one step forward in getting this new show up and running! While it means that Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy had to close on October 7th, Disney Villains are moving into Disney World for good. Along with the new villains show, a whole new Villains Land will be coming to Magic Kingdom in the next few years. Now is a good time to be “bad” at Disney World! Are you getting ready for your next trip to Disney World? RIDE THE RAILS!! Maybe you’re starting to get your packing on now that you’ve finalized the other plans like your airline and hotel reservations. Now, we understand how stressful it can be to pack for the trip, especially if you’re double and triple-checking your list to make sure you’re not forgetting anything. We’re here for you. The last thing we want is for you to feel like you’ve forgotten anything, so let’s talk about the parks bag mistake that everyone makes in Disney World so that you won’t have to! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. As we were saying, you would be surprised by how many people get it wrong when it comes to packing for Disney World, and that’s what we don’t want to have happen to you. Here are the park bag blunders to avoid, plus some smart packing tips to keep your trip magical. Overpacking Like You’re Going on a Disney Survival Trek Let’s be real. Disney World days are no joke on your feet and your stamina, but you’re still in a theme park, not the wild wilderness. Sure, it might be tempting to pack every single thing you could ever hope to have or need, but that bag gets heavy fast. Here’s the thing: your bag might feel okay at the hotel room, but after mile 5, 6, or 10 (and believe me, you’ll hit that), it starts feeling like you’re carrying a case of bricks! ©Amazon The solution is to pack like a minimalist. Consider what you actually need. If you’re heading for a casual day at Magic Kingdom, you can totally get by with a small belt bag or a compact Loungefly backpack. These bags force you to pack only the essentials, and you’ll thank yourself when you’re not constantly readjusting a heavy load on your shoulders. A habit you might want to form is that before you leave the hotel room, ask yourself, “Will I use this multiple times today?” If the answer is no, then consider leaving it out of the bag. Now, let me talk about a couple of our favorite bags that you could consider. Cherry Sauce Oxford Ita Shoulder Bag Pin trading is so fun! If you love a lightweight and compact backpack for your essentials, and you love pin trading, there’s no better bag for you than this Cherry Sauce Oxford Ita Shoulder Bag! Grab it here! Mini Belt Bag ©Amazon Around these parts, we love a good Mini Belt Bag! Honestly, there might not be a better way to carry your light park essentials and be handsfree. Grab it here! Loungefly Exclusive Disney Stickers All Over Print Mini Backpack We love this backpack! If you want to get a mini bag that’s sturdy and fashionable, check out this Loungefly Exclusive Disney Stickers All Over Print Mini Backpack! We love ours. They’re really the perfect parks companion. Grab it here! A habit you might want to form is that before you leave the hotel room, ask yourself, “Will I use this multiple times today?” If the answer is no, then consider leaving it out of the bag. Not Bringing Enough Water (or a Refillable Bottle) Walking around in the Florida sun is no joke (there’s not a ton of shade at Disney World), and dehydration can sneak up on you much, much faster than you think. One common mistake is not bringing enough water or even assuming you’ll buy bottles as you go. Water with Lemon But here’s the deal. Disney World water is free! You can stop by any quick-service counter and ask for a cup of water, or better yet, bring a refillable water bottle and save yourself the hassle (and expense) of buying multiple plastic bottles throughout the day. Owala water bottle Staying hydrated will help you avoid headaches, fatigue, and feeling sluggish by the time you’re in line for your favorite ride. Plus, having your own refillable bottle is pretty eco-friendly and wallet-friendly. And who doesn’t love an excuse to show off their cute Disney-themed water bottle? Get an Owala on Amazon Leaving the Portable Charger Behind This is a big one! Between snapping all those must-have photos, using the My Disney Experience app for ride times and mobile orders, and maybe even squeezing in a quick phone call, your phone battery will drain fast. The last thing you want is to end up at 5% with no way to navigate the park or keep in touch with your group. FuelRod A small, lightweight charger will save you a lot of stress. Bring one that’s fully charged, and you’ll be able to power up your phone while you’re waiting in line. Get a FuelRod on Amazon here! Bringing Your Entire Wallet It’s really easy to toss your whole wallet in your bag without a second thought, but do you actually need all 20 of your loyalty cards at Disney World? Nope, and you definitely don’t want to risk losing your whole wallet if it slips out of a ride pouch. Nightmare Before Christmas Loungefly wallet Our advice is to slim it down. Stick to the essentials — your ID, one or two credit cards, and some cash. You’ll feel way better knowing you’re not lugging around everything. If you have a MagicBand, you can even link it to a credit card and your park tickets, so you can even leave more behind. Skipping First Aid Essentials Blisters, headaches, or an accidental scrape can totally throw off your Disney groove, which is why we feel it’s a good idea to have a mini first-aid kit on hand. First Aid Kit A few band-aids, pain relievers, and maybe even an anti-chafe stick can be lifesavers! These things don’t take up much space and can make a massive difference in your day. Trust us, there’s nothing worse than hobbling around Disney with a blister. Get the 300 Piece First Aid Kit HERE! Forgetting Rain Gear and Extra Socks Listen, in Florida, rain is almost as common as sunshine, and when it rains, it pours. Plus, those afternoon showers can leave puddles that might make your feet wish they had their own poncho. Flooding in Disney World due to Helene A good rule of thumb is to bring a poncho (or mini umbrella) and a spare pair of socks. Ponchos are easy to find online before you go, which will save you some cash by buying them ahead of time instead of at the park! Also, stashing an extra pair of socks will help you out if your feet get drenched. It’s one of those things you won’t realize you need until you’re soaked and wishing for dry feet. Our favorite poncho is this Frogg Toggs poncho. There is plenty of room for your bag to fit underneath. It’s quick drying but doesn’t have ya sweating all day and there’s a bag for you to put your wet poncho in so it doesn’t get everything else in your bag wet. Frogg Togg Poncho Get your poncho here! The Bottom Line Packing smart can mean the difference between a pretty magical Disney day and one that’s spent dreaming of ice packs and foot rubs. So, here’s the main rule: keep it light and functional. If you can stick to a small bag with essentials, skip the urge overload. In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB so you’re always in the loop with all the latest from Disney! For the past several months, we’ve been keeping a close eye on potential storm systems heading for the United States. Magic Kingdom entrance the day after Hurricane Milton During hurricane season, the probability of storms is higher than at other times of year, and we’ve already seen a few major hurricanes that impacted the southern part of the country. But it seems that the season isn’t over yet, because the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is watching three different developing systems in the Atlantic. Yesterday, the NHC shared that they’re monitoring three different systems developing in the Atlantic. One area in the Southwest Caribbean was of particular interest. ©NOAA But when the updates came in on Saturday, November 2nd, things had changed a bit. Now, one of the systems has developed into Subtropical Storm Patty. It’s expected to pass near or over the Azores this weekend. ©NOAA But if you’re in the United States, the system you might want to closely watch is the one that’s currently forming in the Southwest Caribbean. This storm has an 80% chance of cyclone formation within the next 7 days. Right now, it’s a broad area of low pressure with disorganized showers, but it seems to be moving northward over the Caribbean Sea. ©NOAA We’ll continue to keep an eye on this system and let you know if we see any major updates. We’ve already seen Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton come through the area this year, and we know many people are hoping to wrap up the hurricane season without any other major issues. There’s one decision that you have to make when you’re planning a trip to Disney World that is above all the rest — where you’re going to eat? The Cake Bake Shop And with over 200 spots to choose from, let’s just say you’ve got your work cut out for you. But let’s say that for one of your meals, you’re wanting to go all in and splurge on getting a bucket-list-worthy meal. Well, we’re here to help you with the decision, specifically, to help you decide which one is worth the splurge and which you might want to skip. As we were saying, when it comes to expensive eating at Disney World a couple of places come to mind, and we wanted to talk about two of them: Takumi-Tei and The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers. Specifically we want to talk about which one is worth the splurge and which you might want to skip! SKIP: Takumi-Tei at EPCOT Takumi-Tei is that elegant, intimate dining experience located in EPCOT’s Japan pavilion, and it’s gorgeous. When you walk in, you’re transported to a serene, artfully designed space inspired by Japanese elements. Inside The service is impeccable, and the food is beautifully presented in a seven-course meal format. If you’re a true foodie with a deep love for Japanese cuisine and have a whole evening to spare, you’ll likely find it amazing. But that might not be the case for most people. Here’s why you might want to give Takumi-Tei a pass: It’s a Time Commitment: Takumi-Tei’s dining experience is long, typically around 3-4 hours. When you’re in EPCOT and have a whole world of rides, shows, and pavilions to explore, spending half of your day in one restaurant can feel like a waste of valuable park time. Unless you’re planning to linger over every morsel and savor the ceremony, the time commitment alone might make you think twice. Hassun The Price Tag is Not Family-Friendly: Brace yourself because Takumi-Tei is one of the priciest dining experiences in Disney World. The cost per adult is $250, and even kids’ meals (for ages 8-12) ring in at a steep $100. If you’re a family of four, that adds up to $700 or more—before drinks and tips. If you’re on a budget, there are plenty of other incredible meals in Disney World that don’t require maxing out your credit card. It’s Not for Picky Eaters: This isn’t your standard sushi spot. Takumi-Tei is about refined, authentic Japanese flavors, and some of the dishes are quite adventurous. If you or anyone in your group is a picky eater or uncomfortable with unfamiliar dishes, this might not be the experience for you. A meal at Takumi-Tei requires an open mind and a willingness to explore new flavors. Sea urchin chirashi sushi Park Ticket Required: There’s one more thing to keep in mind. Takumi-Tei is inside EPCOT, so you’ll need a valid park ticket just to access it. If you’re trying to maximize your time and money, adding an EPCOT ticket on top of the meal can feel like a double splurge. So yes, Takumi-Tei delivers a truly high-end, memorable experience, but it’s best suited for devoted Japanese cuisine fans looking for something unique and who don’t mind the price tag. While you’re at it, why don’t you check out the our full review here: REVIEW: We Ate a $250 Meal in EPCOT and We’d Do It Again For everyone else? We’ve got a better idea. MUST-TRY: The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers at Disney’s BoardWalk If you’re looking for an elevated experience that feels just as magical but a bit more approachable, The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers at Disney’s BoardWalk is your new go-to. This spot, just recently opened here in fall 2024, and is all about dreamy ambiance and indulgent dishes that won’t require you to forfeit half your Disney day. Here’s why The Cake Bake Shop should be at the top of your dining list if you’re looking for a bougie spot: A Beautiful, Elevated Atmosphere: Walking into The Cake Bake Shop feels like entering a fairytale. From its sparkling chandeliers to the beautiful detailing with lots of silver and gold accents, everything feels designed to make you feel like royalty. The aesthetic here is top-tier and almost too pretty to eat. Plus, the staff here goes out of their way to make you feel pampered and welcome from the moment you step inside. Seating Gourmet Food Without the Extreme Price: The Cake Bake Shop is certainly on the pricier side, but compared to other high-end Disney options (looking at you, Takumi-Tei and Victoria & Albert’s), it’s a lot more wallet-friendly. The menu offers everything from delightful pastries to heartier entrees, and our absolute favorite was the Three Cheese Cavatappi, and seriously, we’re still dreaming about it. If you’re celebrating a special occasion but don’t want to break the bank, this is the spot. Convenient Location Without a Park Ticket: Located on Disney’s BoardWalk, The Cake Bake Shop is accessible even if you’re not heading into a park. This is perfect for those who want a high-quality dining experience without needing a separate ticket. You can easily make this part of your itinerary on a resort day, or simply as a magical escape from the hustle of the parks. Perfect for Foodies: Finally, let’s talk about the cakes. Not only are they picture-perfect, but they’re also delicious. This is the kind of place where you’ll want to order a few different slices just to sample (and photograph) each one. The dessert selection here alone makes it worth the trip! Raspberry Champagne Cake Check out the our full review here: REVIEW: Is Dinner at The Cake Bake Shop in Disney World WORTH The Price Tag? We Found Out! Overall, as we were saying, Takumi-Tei is a fantastic option, but it’s high price point, time commitment, and adventurous menu make it hard to recommend over places like The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, which has all the elegance, just without the time and budget commitment. In the end, we’ll leave the decision up to you. Until then, keep it right here at DFB for all the laters Disney news! November marks the beginning of National Veterans and Military Families Month, a celebration established in 1996 to honor the extraordinary service and sacrifice of those who served in the U.S. military and their families. Building upon Disney’s long-standing admiration for military service, we are excited to share that a new collection of our military-inspired merchandise has arrived at select locations at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort while supplies last. The collection this year consists of four items, including a T-shirt, a Spirit Jersey, a water bottle, and a baseball cap. Each item features the beloved “Mickeyflage,” a specially designed camouflage pattern by Disney that integrates hidden Mickeys throughout for an extra touch of Disney magic. Our unique military-inspired merchandise line is one of the many ways we continue to recognize and salute the military heroes who have given so much in service to our country. This collection is available at select locations, including Emporium at Magic Kingdom, Creations Shop at EPCOT, Mickey’s of Hollywood at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, World of Disney at Disney Springs in Florida, Emporium at Disneyland Park, Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure Park and World of Disney at Downtown Disney in California. Theme Park admission and park reservation is required for park entry. Disney has had a long history of respect for military service members, veterans and their families dating back to the founding of our company more than 100 years ago, and that tradition continues today. Since 2012, Disney has contributed more than $20 million in funding and media support to nonprofit organizations that focus on bringing joy to veterans and military families. Please join us in thanking all veterans and their families this month! Okay, fellow Star Wars fans (or those who are wanting to get into Star Wars). How about a fun challenge? ©Disney I’ve already admitted to being a big nerd, so it should probably not come as a surprise that I’m also into Star Wars. I pretty much love all Star Wars (and that even includes some of the books Disney has released), although I came into my fandom via the prequels (I know, I know, but they’re way better than ANYONE ever gave them credit for). So I sort of inadvertently started my journey as a Star Wars fan by watching the movies in chronological order, but if you’re looking to watch ALL the Star Wars movies and TV shows in chronological order, I’m going to help you out. So will you accept this challenge? Trust me, it’s easier than making the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs. So here’s a rundown of the order you need to watch ever Star Wars movie and TV show. Let’s go! BBY and ABY First, we’ll need to explain how the galaxy far, far away views time. Like we have BC and AD, the universe that Star Wars is set in has BBY and ABY. BBY is Before the Battle of Yavin, which happened at the end of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. ©Disney BBY refers to After the Battle of Yavin, so it’s everything that happened after Episode IV. Got it? Okay, moving on… Dawn of the Jedi So we’re going to start with a Star Wars movie that was announced, but that we haven’t received a lot of details on yet. That’s the James Mangold-directed Dawn of the Jedi movie that is set to take place in 25,000 BBY. The movie will reportedly reveal the history of the Jedi Order and the origin story of the Force. YES! BBY refers to After the Battle of Yavin, so it’s everything that happened after Episode IV. Got it? Okay, moving on… ©Disney This would provide a brand new story in a completely new setting and timeline that we haven’t yet seen in Star Wars. I don’t know about you, but I can’t WAIT to find out more about this movie. Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures Okay, so there are two eras we need to talk about. There’s the Old Republic era, which happens around 4,000 BBY — so far, we haven’t seen any TV shows or movies dedicated to this era (although there have been a few video games set in that time). Then there’s the High Republic Era, which is when Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures occurs (232 BBY). This animated show might be mostly targeted to kids, but it’s a great introduction to the High Republic Era. Plus, who can resist Nubs? This young Jedi EXISTS to sell us all adorable cute and fuzzy merchandise. Nubs backpack The series follows the adventures of Jedi younglings who are starting to go out on their own to explore the world and learn valuable lessons about the Force and themselves. This show also features a younger Yoda, so what’s not to love? The Acolyte Love it or hate, The Acolyte still exists in the Star Wars timeline. Honestly, I don’t think this show was even given a fair shot, and it was far better than its critics would have you believe. The Acolyte takes place in 132 BBY, which is also the High Republic era, and I’m still disappointed we won’t get to see more. ©Disney One thing this show managed well was showing how the Jedi can be just as flawed and judgmental as their Sith counterparts. It also gave us The Good Place’s Manny Jacinto as a Sith, and that alone makes it worth watching. Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace Although controversial at its time, the Star Wars prequel trilogy has become hugely popular. In The Phantom Menace, we’re introduced to a very young Obi-Wan Kenobi training under Master Qui Gon while the two discover a boy strong in the Force named Anakin Skywalker (yes, the future Darth Vader). Plus it’s the movie that introduces Jar Jar Binks. I’m also pretty sure Lucasfilm blew its entire budget on Princess Amidala’s elaborate costumes. ©Disney Episode 1 is set in 32 BBY, putting it much closer to the Battle of Yavin (because it is part of a prequel series that came before the original series). Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones In Episode 2, Amidala is now a Senator (that’s how things work on Naboo — you’re royalty for only a limited amount of time then you’re forced to get a day job). Anakin is all grown up, and well, let’s just say Amidala has noticed. The movie, which takes place in 22 BBY introduces us to The Clone Wars for the first time plus it’s got that whole romance story on the side (even if it’s not a well-written one). ©Disney So in 10 years time, Anakin grows up, becomes hot, and starts feeling frustrated by the limitations the Jedi Order is putting on him. He defies Jedi tradition and ends up marrying Padme at the end of the movie (yeah, this won’t end well). Anakin also loses an arm. Ouch. Star Wars: The Clone Wars Okay, it’s time for an animated interlude, because the story of The Clone Wars is told much better in the The Clone Wars animated series. It takes place from 22-19 BBY, before Anakin and Padme say “I do.” This is where we first meet Ahsoka, a promising Jedi padawan, who ultimately gets betrayed by the order (yes, I’m still salty about how they treated her). This is where you’ll discover why Ahsoka later says, “I am no Jedi.” ©Disney The final season of The Clone Wars overlaps events that take place during the third prequel movie, including Order 66, which was the order that was given to the clones to eradicate the Jedi Order just before the Empire takes power over the galaxy. Spoiler alert: Ahsoka lives (she kinda’ had to because she has her own series now). Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith In 19 BBY, Anakin begins falling to the Dark Side, mostly due to the fear of losing Padme that has taken over his heart, but also due to the manipulations of Palpatine, the soon-to-be Emperor. This is the official origin story of Darth Vader, but it’s also the birth story of Luke and Leia. ©Disney Of the prequels, this is my favorite. Dark Side Anakin is way more interesting than awkward teenager-in-love Anakin. Also, the scene between Obi-Wan and him on Mustafar is utterly heartbreaking. YOU WERE MY BROTHER, ANAKIN. The Bad Batch Okay, so the next few projects happen around the same time. The Bad Batch starts around 19 BBY and introduces us to some Clone Troopers were were outcasts and who refer to themselves as The Bad Batch. They band together with another clone, a young female clone by the name of Omega, to fight the Empire. ©Disney The Bad Batch also offers a good perspective of how the Empire slowly begins taking hold of the galaxy and what that means for each planet. No spoilers, but don’t get too attached to these clones because THIS SHOW WILL BREAK YOUR HEART. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Okay, I lied, but I feel like we need to throw in the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game here, too, which is set around the same time in 14 BBY. This is after Order 66 has been executed and those remaining Jedi who were lucky to survive it are on the run, including Cal Kestis. ©Disney I feel like Cal is an important figure in Star Wars lore, and it’s worth it to play the game to get some more details about what life was like after order 66. Also, I’m 99.9 percent sure Cal will end up in a live-action project at some point. I am ALL up for seeing Cameron Monaghan reprise his role as Cal in a live-action movie or TV show. Solo: A Star Wars Story Han Solo wasn’t always the Han Solo we know and love from the original trilogy. He was a bit of a miscreant as a younger man, and this movie, which takes place around 13-10 BBY is his origin story. The movie even shows how Han gets his hands on the Millennium Falcon AND how he and Chewbacca first meet. ©Disney This one is a MUST if you’re going into the original trilogy because you get a good look into who Han was BEFORE he fell for a princess from Alderaan. It also explains a lot about his character and the decisions he makes in future movies. Star Wars: Jedi Survivor Just a quick mention of the second Cal Kestis video game, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, which takes place in 9 BBY. Cal returns for another adventure in this video game, which I have to admit, I haven’t played yet (hey, I’ve been busy). But again, I feel like Cal is going to be a huge figure in the future, so I’m including it here. ©Disney Or maybe I’m just trying to manifest a live-action Cal Kestis. Whatever it takes. Disney, are you paying attention? Also, I have to mention that those adorable BD droids that are often found wandering around Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge are the same model as the droid that’s Cal’s BFF. Obi-Wan Kenobi After the “incident” with that whole Anakin-turning-into-Darth-Vader mess, Obi-Wan Kenobi gives up and becomes a hermit, but he comes out of hiding in 9 BBY for his own series, Obi-Wan-Kenobi. Poor Obi-Wan has to come face-to-face with his old friend, Anakin who is now Darth Vader. But more importantly, he also gets to spend some time with a very sassy young Princess Leia. ©Disney Obi-Wan’s story in this series leads directly into where we find him (hiding out in a cave) in the first movie of the original trilogy. Star Wars Rebels Okay, we are now at what is my all-time favorite animated Star Wars series and maybe my all-time favorite Star Wars thing ever. That is Star Wars Rebels, which takes place around 5 BBY. The Jedi Order is gone, the Rebellion is beginning to build itself, and a misfit crew has banded together to become one of the key players in that Rebellion. ©Disney Pay attention, though, because these characters are also SUPER-important to the Ahsoka series and if you haven’t watched this first, you might be confused. Also, it has one of my favorite Star Wars characters EVER in it, Hera Syndulla (and yes, I even paint myself green and cosplay her). I will also argue that she’s the best pilot in all of Star Wars. Andor The Andor series takes place just a few years later, in 9BBY, before the events in the first movie of the original trilogy and right before Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. We learn how Cassian Andor becomes a member of the Rebellion and learn about how the Rebellion is organized and how it gained strength. ©Disney We also get to see some FABULOUS costumes on Mon Mothma, and honestly, that’s really why I watch this show (just kidding — the storytelling of Andor is top-notch). Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Rogue One introduces us to my OTHER favorite character in Star Wars, Jyn Erso (yep, I cosplay her, too). Rogue One is set in 0 BBY and is actually directly leading up to the Battle of Yavin. This movie explains how the Rebellion ended up with the Death Star plans that help them destroy the Death Star in Episode 1. ©Disney You’ll also find Cassian Andor in this movie (which is when the character was actually introduced). If you’ve managed to read this far, we’re in the home stretch now…well…kinda’. Star Wars Episode 1: A New Hope Episode 1 is the movie that started it all when it was released way back in 1977. But in the chronological timeline, it’s set in 0 BBY, so it actually takes place later than MOST other Star Wars TV shows and movies. This is the movie that introduces all the classic Star Wars characters we know and love like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Chewbacca. ©Disney The movie ends with the Rebellion defeating the Empire at the Battle of Yavin, so we’re moving into a whole new time period going forward. We can now say goodbye to BBY and hello to ABY! Star Wars Episode 2: The Empire Strikes Back However, the Empire wasn’t going to go down so easily, so in The Empire Strikes Back, the Empire…well, it strikes back. This movie takes place a few years after the Battle of Yavin in 3 BBY when Luke is trying to learn more about mastering the Force from the wacky Master Yoda (seriously, Yoda is UNHINGED in this movie). ©Disney Luke, however, abandons his training to go save his friends because Han, Leia, and Chewbacca just can’t stay out of trouble. Also, Han gets himself frozen in carbonite and then is kinda’ a jerk to Leia when she admits that she loves him (um… “I know?” REALLY, DUDE?). Honestly, this is my least fave movie of the original trilogy, but I still love it because Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian is even if he does betray Han. Also, Luke learns that Darth Vader is his daddy and that’s a moment that lives on in many Star Wars fans’ memories. Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi All good things must come to an end, and so, too, did what many thought was the last Star Wars project ever, Episode 6. This could be my favorite movie of the original trilogy, but mostly because I remember being young and thinking the Ewoks were sweet and adorable (before realizing they have a dark side). This movie takes place just a year later in 4 BBY. ©Disney There’s a huge battle, the FINAL battle (or so we thought), and the Empire is ultimately defeated. But as future films have shown, evil always seems to want to hang around even after getting blown out of the sky. Shortly after this movie, Han and Leia get married on Endor (for those events, you’ll have to read the book Star Wars: The Princess and the Scoundrel, which also introduces the Halcyon Starcruiser). The Mandalorian The chronological timeline gets a little muddled between the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy, so seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian are next because they take place in 9BBY. So if you’re watching chronologically, coo and “awww” over little Grogu and then head on into The Book of Boba Fett. ©Disney Yes, this is the series that gave us ANOTHER character that we’re pretty sure was created to sell tons of merchandise. And you know what? It worked (staring at my Grogu Loungefly RIGHT NOW). You got me, Disney. You got me. I swear if anything happens to that little Baby Yoda, I will throw hands! The Book of Boba Fett In the middle of The Mandalorian, we got The Book of Boba Fett, which told the story of how Boba Fett escaped the jaws of a Sarlaac and survived to become a big pain for Jabba the Hutt. So part of The Book of Boba Fett happens BEFORE The Mandalorian, while the rest happens after The Mandalorian season 2, so the show covers 9-11 ABY. Like I said it gets confusing. ©Disney Even more confusing is that you’ll want to watch this BEFORE season 3 of The Mandalorian because the end of The Book of Boba Fett leads into season 3 of that show. Have fun figuring all that out! The Skeleton Crew Disney recently revealed that the upcoming The Skeleton Crew takes place around 9 BBY, which means it’s happening about the same time as all these other shows because why not? So the Empire has been defeated, and four kids are busy discovering something that gets them lost in a “strange and dangerous galaxy.” ©Disney During their adventures, they’ll be trying to find their way home and meeting allies and enemies along the way. Ahsoka Season 3 of The Mandalorian sets up the first season of the live-action Ahsoka — yep, the same character we first met way back in The Clone Wars. And honestly, Ahsoka’s first season, which happens in 11 ABY, is a live-action continuation of The Clone Wars because Ahsoka is looking for Ezra, who (SPOILER ALERT) goes missing at the end of The Clone Wars. ©Disney She finds him, alright, along with a certain blue-skinned ex-Empire baddie named Thrawn who is just itching to start trouble for the galaxy all over again. Season 2 of Ahsoka is on the way! Star Wars Resistance So Star Wars Resistance is a show that not a lot of folks seem to know about, but it was an animated series that took place in 34-35 ABY and took place just before Episode 7. This show basically set up the setting of what was happening before we met Rey, Finn, Poe, and the rest of the sequel trilogy crew, and even introduced Captain Phasma and BB-8 with several mentions of Poe Dameron. ©Disney So at this point, the First Order has become the new Empire, and a new rebellion known as the Resistance is beginning to form and take on the bad guys…again. Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens In Episode 7, we see events that happen in 34 ABY. The First Order is now in power, the Jedi are mostly gone) and a young woman who can use the Force gets thrown into the middle of the Resistance because they decided to land on the planet she lives on. ©Disney There are adventures, reunions (Han and Leia’s is particularly touching), a sniveling Sith named Kylo Ren (you know, that guy that sometimes works in the Rise of the Resistance ride), and it all sets up a new sequel trilogy that echoes themes from the original trilogy. Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi The Last Jedi was particularly controversial when it came out, for no good reason, but in my opinion, it’s a solid film because it takes Star Wars in some new directions. However, it lands at around 34 ABY in the timeline as we follow Rey beginning to train as a Jedi under none other than Luke Skywalker. ©Disney There’s also a side quest at a casino and some misdirection about how important that side quest is, but overall, the events in this movie still set up the final chapter of the Skywalker saga. Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker The Rise of Skywalker happens shortly after the events of Episode 8, around 35 BBY. We find out that Emperor Palpatine is still SOMEHOW still around (oddly revealed in the opening credits) and that maybe Kylo Ren isn’t ALL bad (let’s face it — part of the story of Star Wars is about redemption). ©Disney At the end of the movie, the Skywalker saga has officially ended, although Rey declares herself as a Skywalker at the end. This movie also has one of the saddest moments in all of Star Wars history, as the characters must say goodbye to Princess Leia after the death of her actress, Carrie Fisher. Pack the tissues for that scene. Untitled Movie But wait! The Skywalker saga continues with Rey Skywalker in a new untitled movie that takes place after the sequels. We don’t have a lot of details about this film yet, but it falls last in the timeline, which means we’re all caught up on the chronology (until Disney throws more Star Wars at us). ©Disney Actress Daisy Ridley is set to return as Rey, with Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy directing. The film is reportedly about the “New Jedi Order” whatever that turns out to be. So the Skywalkers live on through Rey. If you’ve made it this far, CONGRATULATIONS! You now understand how all the Star Wars movies and TV shows fit in with each other. Yes, watching ALL of it is a BIG commitment, but well worth it to relive the stories we all love so much all over again, right? It’s the journey, my fellow Star Wars friends, not the destination. To sum up, I’ll quote Yoda: “On many long journeys have I gone. And waited, too, for others to return from journeys of their own. Some return; some are broken; some come back so different only their names remain.” Stay tuned to DFB for more. 9 Loungefly Bags You’ll LOVE if Your Favorite Disney Ride Is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! In honor of National Veterans and Military Families Appreciation Month, Disney Cruise Line recently recognized a brave hero and U.S. Marine Corps Veteran with the surprise of a lifetime while he enjoyed a day at the Disneyland Resort with his family: an upcoming vacation sailing on the new Disney Treasure! Southern California veteran David Negreros was nominated to receive a trip to the Disneyland Resort by Goodwill of Orange County’s Tierney Center for Veteran Services, in recognition of his dedication and selflessness while serving in the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton and in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. While visiting Disneyland park, David and his family enjoyed a ride on Haunted Mansion (which is currently decked out as the Haunted Mansion Holiday inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas”!) where they were then surprised with the news they would soon be sailing onboard the highly anticipated Disney Treasure, Disney Cruise Line’s new ship setting sail this December! David and his family are sure to feel right at home onboard the ship, as the Disney Treasure brings stories from Disney Parks to life at sea for the first time. They will be among the first to experience venues inspired by the beloved attractions they visited at Disneyland Resort, such as the all-new Haunted Mansion Parlor! The Haunted Mansion Parlor will have nostalgic tributes to Haunted Mansion attractions around the world and introduce guests to the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga. The Disney Treasure, where the spirit of adventure meets the daring tales of classic Disney films and Disney Parks attractions, begins inaugural sailings in December 2024. David also participated in a commemorative flag retreat on Main Street, U.S.A., during his visit to the park. This ceremony is a valued tradition in our parks, honoring U.S. veterans for their bravery and courage. Disney has a strong legacy of supporting military service members and their families, dating all the way back to our founders Walt and Roy Disney’s own contributions to country during World War I. Following his military service, he now devotes his work to helping other veterans as they transition out of the military through various veteran vocational programs and resource centers. We are so proud to celebrate David and his family and thank him for his service. We can’t wait for them to set sail soon! We’re only a few months away from the inaugural sailing of the Disney Treasure, one of Disney’s new cruise ships! ©Disney We’re so excited to check out all the new dining and entertainment on board, but one of the perks we’re most looking forward to is the AquaMouse! This is a ride similar to the attraction of the same name on the Disney Wish cruise ship, but with a new storyline. However, this attraction is quite popular, so if you’re looking to avoid some long lines, here are the times you DO NOT want to ride! Boarding When everyone is boarding the ship, especially if it’s before their staterooms are ready, lots of people will choose to explore the ship. Some may have chosen to have a bathing suit on underneath their clothes to jump straight into the water, while others may have them with them to change into. Either way, a lot of people, especially kids, run straight to the AquaMouse to try it out! ©Disney While you may think that everyone would be choosing to get settled in their staterooms and eat lunch before really starting to explore, many families want to get the fun started ASAP, so the AquaMouse is likely to be VERY busy before the ship even leaves the port, as well as a few hours afterwards. This is definitely NOT when we recommend riding. The Evening After A Port of Call Ports of call are exciting for nearly everyone on board, and it means that the rest of the ship is mostly deserted. This is actually a GREAT time to ride the AquaMouse, however if you’ve spent all day on land and come back in the evening before the boat departs, that is NOT a good time to ride. ©Disney Why? Well, everyone’s just gotten done having a great day on land, and they want to ride the AquaMouse to finish out a great day, OR they arrived to the boat a few hours before final call and think that there are still tons of people on land. That’s not necessarily the case — a lot of families will come back a few hours before final call to ensure they’re back on board in time, and they may think riding the AquaMouse then is great because it won’t be crowded. As it turns out, it’s usually the opposite. The Final Evening of Your Cruise And on the final evening of your cruise, everyone will be wanting to get those final memories in, and do everything for the last time, and that often may mean riding the AquaMouse. ©Disney And we totally get it! If you or your family have loved the AquaMouse, absolutely take advantage of your last night and ride it once, twice, however many times you’d like. Just keep in mind though that a lot of other people may have the same idea and the line could be long for quite some time! ©Disney Some of our favorite times to ride the AquaMouse though are: During ports of call (especially the morning and mid-afternoon) During showtimes and dining windows The moment it opens each morning (essentially rope dropping it) AquaMouse on the Disney Wish We’ll be on the first sailing of the Disney Treasure and can’t wait to take you along with us, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB! Halloween has officially come and gone, and while we’re sad to say goodbye to all the ghosts and ghouls… Festival of the Holidays …we’re pretty darn excited to welcome the holiday season at Disney World! We’ve already seen holiday decorations pop up at Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios, and we’re counting down the days until the beginning of holiday festivities like the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays! Speaking of which, Disney just announced some pretty big news about this year’s festival! The 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays runs from November 29th through December 30th and is full of holiday entertainment, merchandise, and of course — food! This is one of our favorite festivals of the year (okay, we kind of say that about all of them BUT STILL!) and we look forward to it every year. Disney just announced that there will be two new Holiday Kitchen food booths at this year’s festival! EPCOT Festival of the Holidays First up, the Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow will be serving up — what else?! — cookies! The gingerbread triangles that will make up the Spaceship Earth display inside CommuniCore Hall will be available to purchase at this Holiday Kitchen with a decorating kit! ©Disney Not only that, but we’ll be able to indulge in some festival favorites from past years at the Favorites of Festivals Past booth! This is located right outside CommuniCore Hall, where the Festival Favorites booth previously was. We’re still waiting on the FULL menus for the Holiday Kitchens this year — so keep checking back here for those! ©Disney In addition to the new food booths, the Glittering Grove Presented by Balsam Hill will also be new this year inside CommuniCore Hall. Take in a beautiful, enchanting Christmas tree forest along with an assortment of souvenirs that will be available to purchase! You may already have some traditions when it comes to the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays presented by AdventHealth – like completing the Cookie Stroll every year, doing your holiday shopping around World Showcase, or taking the family to sing along with the Candlelight Processional. Today, I’d like to introduce you to seven new experiences at the festival that will put a little more holly-jolly in your seasonal visits to EPCOT from November 29 through December 30. A Grand and Miraculous Gingerbread Display The creative minds of the EPCOT Festival Team and Walt Disney Imagineering paired up with the delicious skills of the EPCOT Pastry team to create something truly grand and miraculous – an 8-foot-tall gingerbread display inspired by Spaceship Earth. The geodesic sphere made up of hundreds of handcrafted gingerbread triangles will be on display inside CommuniCore Hall for all guests to see and enjoy throughout the festival. And, just like its park icon counterpart, the gingerbread version will also light up and dance to music periodically throughout the day. You can discover the next dancing lights performance of this tasty creation with a countdown, courtesy of the Celebration Countdown presented by CITIZEN! Find more details about festive gingerbread fun across Walt Disney World Resort with the Gingerbread Display Foodie Guide. Deck the CommuniCore Hall Once you’ve finished marveling at the gingerbread Spaceship Earth, stroll around CommuniCore Hall to take in beautiful, seasonal décor inspired by the unique design of EPCOT. Enjoy an enchanting forest with the Glittering Grove presented by Balsam Hill, where twinkling trees bring festive flair. Speaking of trees – if you need to find some presents to put under a tree of your own, you’ll also find an assortment of festival merchandise inside CommuniCore Hall. Many Merry Menus This year, there are two new Holiday Kitchens at CommuniCore Hall! The first (and this might be my favorite name of any festival food and beverage location of all time) is Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow and they’ll be serving – you guessed it – cookies! Remember the gingerbread triangles that make up the Spaceship Earth display? You can purchase gingerbread triangles of your own at this Holiday Kitchen in a decorating kit, which is a perfect activity for little ones to enjoy. Next, indulge in the best-loved dishes from previous years with Favorites of Festivals Past, located right outside CommuniCore Hall. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for the Festival of the Holidays Foodie Guide, which will have the menus for all the festival’s Holiday Kitchens. Do You Wanna Build a Snowflake? Stepping outside of CommuniCore Hall and into CommuniCore Plaza, you’ll find a new, complimentary activity that is perfect for kids of all ages – snowflake decorating! Add this to your list of festival fun to do with the family, along with catching performances of Holiday Storytellers around World Showcase and enjoying the lights at Living with the Land with the Glimmering Greenhouses overlay – all holiday activities that are also included with the price of your ticket to the park. While you’re enjoying creating a snowflake or two, you can listen to the spirited performances of JOYFUL! A Celebration of the Season as they perform in their all-new location at CommuniCore Plaza. Check out My Disney Experience for showtimes. Seasonal Scents Along the walkway between the Imagination! pavilion and World Showcase, stop by to see an all-new seasonal display, open to all guests throughout the festival. Festive Fragrances presented by Scentsy is a gift for the senses – you can stroll through a snow globe garden, inspired by Scentsy’s seasonal aromas! Guests who visit CommuniCore Hall can purchase some of their favorite holiday fragrances, reliving the festival experience long after their vacation. And there you have it – seven new experiences to look forward to during the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, November 29-December 30! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Well, at least in Disney World, anyway. From iconic holiday decorations to festive events, there’s a LOT to enjoy in Disney World as we approach the end of the year. One of our favorite parts of the holiday season? That’s easy. It’s the massive handmade gingerbread displays all around the resorts! Donald Duck at the BoardWalk Inn by the Gingerbread BoardWalk Deli In the past, we’ve enjoyed the gingerbread displays at hotels like Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club, and (of course) Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. Not only do these mega gingerbread houses LOOK incredible, but they also serve TREATS! Let’s see what’s coming to Disney World for the 2024 holiday season! OK, we’re way too excited about this news, so we have to tell you about it right away. Starting November 29th, EPCOT will debut a brand-new 8-foot-tall gingerbread creation. Disney fans can visit CommuniCore Hall to see a NEW Gingerbread Spaceship Earth. Say WHAT?! How are those gingerbread artists going to make a spherical gingerbread house?! We cannot wait to find out. Apparently it took them over 160 hours to create the display. Oh, and it will even “light up and dance to music throughout the day” and feature 11 hidden Mickeys that represent the 11 countries of the World Showcase. ©Disney It’s baaaack. The iconic Life-Size Baby Gingerbread Giraffe and Baby Zebra displays are returning to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge on November 24th. These creations are nearly 7 feet tall, made with a combination of gingerbread, sugar dough, and modeling chocolate. This year, there are even some NEW holiday additions at the resort, like a limited-edition pin, cookie jar, and holiday ornament inspired by Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Animal Kingdom Lodge Gingerbread Display We don’t have a full holiday menu yet to go along with this display, but Disney did confirm that the Gingeraffe Cookie will be back for 2024, along with some specialty cocktails. Gingeraffe Cookie Time for the BIG boy, a.k.a. the beloved Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Make sure to stop by — this resort is celebrating 25 YEARS of holiday fun with its iconic Gingerbread House. When we say this thing is big, we mean it. The bakery team spends over 500 hours (!!!) baking the gingerbread and then another 480 hours bringing all the details together. Disney shared that to celebrate 25 years of the holiday tradition, there are 25 hidden Mickeys scattered throughout the house. 2023 Grand Floridian Gingerbread House Of course, there will also be some MERCHANDISE to celebrate 25 years of festive fun! Look out for a limited-edition pin, ornament, cookie jar, magnet, tumbler, t-shirt, and more. Now, it’s time for our favorite part, the snack menu! This year, treats include: Gingerbread Mickey Gingerbread Shingle Stollen Bread Brownie Pop Gingersnap Cookies Gingerbread House Ornament Gingerbread House Gingerbread Cookie Bags imported from Germany Gingerbread Loaf Peppermint Bark Grand Floridian Gift Box featuring assorted fan favorite treats, including a Santa Gnome Hot Cocoa Surprise, exclusive to the Combo Box Hot tip! Make sure to park at the Transportation & Ticket Center and take the resort monorail to see this display. Don’t try to park at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa — you will be turned away. Gingerbread Buddy Up next is Disney’s Beach Club Resort! For the 24th season, this resort will bring back its life-sized Holiday Carousel, and yes, it actually moves. This year, the carousel will be decorated with horses and characters from Mickey’s Christmas Carol. 2022 Carousel The carousel will also feature 24 hidden gold Mickeys. If you want a matching souvenir, you can buy a limited-edition pin, cookie jar, or a holiday ornament. Some of the holiday treats on the menu this year include: Linzer Cookie Spiced Orange and Cranberry Bundt Cake Gingerbread Macarons Hot Cocoa Brownie Hannukah Sugar Cookie Stollen Gingerbread House Nearby, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn has a gingerbread display of its own! You can buy: Holiday Mickey and Minnie Sugar Cookie Mickey Caramel Corn Cookie Gingerbread Loaf Gingerbread Shingle Next stop: Disney’s Contemporary Resort! On November 8th, this hotel will unveil a NEW overlay inspired by the Cinderella Castle Dream Lights. Oh, how we miss those lights! This 17+ feet tall display will be located on the 4th floor of the resort. Make sure to look for the 13 hidden Mickeys and the famous 5-legged goat. You can also buy limited-edition pins, a cookie jar, and a holiday ornament. Get ready to “drop on in!” Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will make its highly anticipated debut at Disneyland Resort on November 15, 2024! If you’re planning a visit to experience this fun, family-friendly attraction, here is a roundup of important things to know, helpful tips and answers to some common questions. A memorable first thrill ride for kids Located in the newly renamed Bayou Country in Disneyland park, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a whimsical water ride that’s fun for the family! Along the way, you’ll encounter Princess Tiana, Mama Odie, gator pal Louis and many adorable new critters. The ensemble of familiar and new friends – plus a lighthearted story and catchy music throughout – create the recipe for a fun first “big kid ride.” Parties with guests that do not meet the minimum 40-inch height requirement can ask a cast member about the complimentary Rider Switch feature, which allows adult guests to take turns experiencing the attraction. More details are available at Disneyland.com. The storytelling starts before you board The attraction’s story picks up after the events of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “The Princess and the Frog,” as Tiana is preparing to host a one-of-a-kind celebration during Mardi Gras season honoring her employee-owned business, Tiana’s Foods. On the ride, you’ll join her search for the party’s missing ingredient: the band! But keep an eye out – you’re immersed in the story upon stepping into the queue. Inside the queue, you’ll find mementos of Tiana and her family’s culinary prowess, including newspaper clippings detailing Tiana’s story and the family gumbo recipe. The Tiana’s Foods truck located outside the attraction is missing a license plate, which is being used by a critter as a musical instrument. You may get wet! You’ll board a log flume that twists, turns and splashes through the bayou before culminating to a thrilling 50-foot drop. For any items you wish to protect from getting wet, consider placing them in a locker rental on Main Street, U.S.A., leaving them with a non-riding member of your party or placing them in a resealable plastic bag prior to boarding. Waterproof ponchos are available for purchase at various retail locations across Disneyland park. You can also find a Tiana’s Bayou Adventure-themed waterproof phone pouch and souvenir towel available for purchase at Louis’ Critter Club in Bayou Country. How to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when it opens Upon its grand opening, joining the complimentary virtual queue,* accessible only via the Disneyland app,** is required to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. A standby queue will not be available during the attraction’s initial opening days. The virtual queue enrollment times will be twice daily, at 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. PT. More information and how-to details on the virtual queue system is available at Disneyland.com. You may also get quicker entry to this attraction by booking an arrival window and using the Lightning Lane entrance with the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass, subject to availability.*** How to download your attraction photo with Disney PhotoPass service As you descend down the drop, don’t forget to smile for the camera! At this time, you can receive complimentary digital downloads of your Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction photo with Disney PhotoPass service. Attraction photos are also included with the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass or PhotoPass+ One Day. Both packages provide unlimited digital photo downloads from the entire day, so you can take even more memories home! Where to buy Tiana merchandise You can commemorate your journey to the bayou with a collection of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise, including apparel, home décor and more. Just like Ray and his firefly kin, light-up firefly accessories light up when they’re near each other. Beginning November 13, you’ll find Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise at the new Louis’ Critter Club retail shop. On the attraction’s opening day, November 15, Starcade in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park will be open as an additional temporary location to find Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise. Beginning November 21, you may also find select Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise at Ray’s Berets in Bayou Country. The New Orleans Square retail shop Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets offers a curated assortment of Princess Tiana- and New Orleans-themed treasures. Where to find beignets – plus, delicious dining recommendations The sweet scent of beignets in the attraction queue may have your mouth watering! The nearby Tiana’s Palace quick-service restaurant in New Orleans Square offers a specialty strawberry pie-filled beignet with strawberry cream filling and topped with strawberry glaze. You can also find gumbo (including a plant-based option!), a Muffuletta salad and other New Orleans-inspired fare. Classic Mickey Mouse-shaped beignets are available at the adjacent Mint Julep Bar. If your tummy is growling for something savory, the newly opened Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree in Bayou Country serves up delicious barbecue dishes, such as a combo platter with a selection of house-smoked meats, sandwiches and plant-based corn ribs. Check out the Disney Eats Foodie Guide here! With the Disneyland app, you can mobile order food and beverages from Tiana’s Palace, Mint Julep Bar, Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree and other select quick-service dining locations in the area. Pro tip: place your order early in the day to make sure your meal is ready at your preferred dining time. We’re almost there – this exhilarating musical adventure is about to begin!
