Disney World is the Most Magical Place on Earth, but sometimes some not-so-magical things happen. Welcome to the Most Magical Place on Earth! Sometimes, things go wrong during your vacation, but that is why Disney World has trained its Guest Relations Cast Members to help you out when something goes wrong. All of the parks have a dedicated area where you can speak to Cast Members about any issues, questions, or concerns. Guest Relations Cast Members really do want to help you, but sometimes they hear complaints that they just can’t control or hear over and over again. Of course, they would never tell you because they are too nice. You can spot Guest Relations Cast Members in iconic plaid costumes and blue shirts under the blue umbrellas around the park. They are happy to answer any questions or listen to and try to resolve complaints. While they will always try their best to resolve an issue, these are four things they wish they could tell guests, but they can’t. Visiting Guest Relations can be super helpful! Not Everyone is Guaranteed to Join a Virtual Queue Disney uses a Virtual Queue system for some of its most popular and newest rides. Currently, both Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT use the Virtual Queue system. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is included with EPCOT’s Lightning Lane Premier Pass Each day, the Virtual Queue opens at 7 AM, and you can choose to join one of the attractions’ queues. If you miss the 7 AM or want to snag a Virtual Queue for another attraction, you can do so again at 1 PM. The catch is you need to be in the park at 1 PM, and you cannot already have an existing Virtual Queue. Basically, you can only hold one Virtual Queue at a time, and you can only join the Virtual Queue for each attraction once a day. ©Disney While Virtual Queue has been around at Disney World for years now, it is totally understandable that it can be confusing, especially since Virtual Queue fills up fast every morning and afternoon. Countless times, people complain to Guest Relations that they were not able to get a Virtual Queue, and while it is okay to be frustrated, Virtual Queues are not guaranteed. Even if you are able to snag a Virtual Queue, you may not even be guaranteed to ride the attraction. So, just keep this in mind if you go to Guest Relations to ask to be granted a Virtual Queue, as there are two opportunities to join, and it is not guaranteed. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Lightning Land and Virtual Queue line You Had Up to Two Hours Prior to Cancel Your Dining Reservation Disney World relaxed its dining reservation cancellation policy about two years ago. Before, you had to cancel your reservation 24 hours in advance to avoid a per-person charge. Now, you can cancel your dining reservation up to two hours before without a penalty. It is important to note that this is the case at most restaurants, but some have different cancelation policies, so make sure to double-check when booking. WATCH OUT for These Sneaky Restaurant Cancelation Costs in Disney World San Angel Inn Restaurante Things can get hectic and unpredictable at Disney World. You may get stuck in traffic, or a ride might break down while you are riding, causing you to miss your dining reservation. In most cases, if it is close enough to your reservation, the restaurant’s Cast Members will try to accommodate you or mark your reservation down so you won’t be charged the no-show fee. ‘Ohana If you do have any questions, you can always go to Guest Relations, and they will try their best to accommodate your request. Still, it is clearly stated when you book a reservation that you have to put down a credit card to hold your reservation, and the cancelation policy is stated. Narcoossee’s They Can’t Control the Weather It is hot in Central Florida, and it can rain quite a bit, especially during the summer months. While there are tall tales that Disney World can control the weather, they can’t. Rainy Day at Hollywood Studios In most cases of extreme weather like hurricanes, Disney will waive cancelation fees. Still, if you are going to complain to a Guest Relations Cast Member about attractions being closed due to the rain, they can’t do anything about it. Our Tips and Tricks for Conquering Rainy Days in Disney World Rainy Day in Magic Kingdom They Don’t Control When Rides Close From time to time, Disney World attractions need a little extra TLC, and they close for refurbishment. The Disney World website and the My Disney Experience app list these closures in advance. Before you plan your trip, it is always a good idea to see what rides will be closed. If your favorite attraction is closed during your scheduled dates, it may be a good idea to adjust your trip or just know in advance to avoid any disappointment. Full List of Important Disney World Closures You Should Plan Around in 2025 Peter Pan’s Flight closed for refurbishment over the summer. It has since reopened. Sometimes, rides have technical issues or, as mentioned above, close due to the weather. Cast Members at the attraction and at Guest Relations cannot control this. Sometimes, they can issue a Multiple Experience Pass for the inconvenience, but this is not always guaranteed. Rides sometimes close due to weather It is never ideal to have something go wrong on your vacation, and Guest Relations Cast Members want to help you get your vacation back on track. So remember that kindness can go a long way! For all the latest Disney news and tips, make sure to continue to follow along with Disney Food Blog! The HORROR! The holiday season has arrived at Disney World, and we are bringing you full coverage of the first night of this year’s Disney Jollywood Nights! Jollywood Nights The streets were decked out in festive decor, and our reporters got in the holiday spirit. We tried out everything that Jollywood Nights has to offer to help you decide if the event is worth the price tag. Disney Jollywood Nights is a separately ticketed event that happens on select nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The holiday event features a variety of entertainment offerings, specialty food and drink items, low waits for select attractions, special character meet and greets, and more! However, the million-dollar question is: is it worth the price tag? Jollywood Nights! Jollywood Nights is taking place on thirteen nights from November 9th through December 21st, 2024. Tickets range in price from $159 to $179, depending on the date. In comparison, tickets to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom cost between $169 and $219, depending on the night. And one-day tickets for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, cost between $169 and $184 during the dates of Jollywood Nights. Jollywood Nights The event itself takes place from 7:30PM until 12:30AM; however, with a Jollywood Nights ticket, you can enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios as early as 6PM. So, if you arrive as soon as you can enter, you are getting 6 1/2 hours inside of the park. Once the clock strikes 7:30PM, you can start to take advantage of the exclusive party offerings. Tower of Terror Pojections To start, Jollywood Nights features LOTS of exclusive entertainment offerings. You can watch international champion skaters in Glisten — A Skating Spectacular and enjoy a variety show hosted by Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy called Holidays in Hollywood. Additionally, you can sing along during the What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along and watch the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! fireworks spectacular. Holidays in Hollywood We really enjoyed the new Glisten! show, and while it is on the shorter side at only 15 minutes, we liked that you could easily show up and watch without having to stake out a spot ahead of time. The dancers were SO talented, and we think that ice skating is such a fun Christmas show. We are huge suckers for Holidays in Hollywood and this show continues to be one of our favorite seasonal shows. Glisten! There is even more live entertainment including the Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club, a dance party in Pixar Plaza, and the Holiday Fiesta en la Calle. We loved the ambiance at the Tip Top Club, and we could have easily spent a while there sipping on cocktails and enjoying the jazz band. The dance party provided the opportunity to meet a bunch of Pixar characters and let loose a bit! Tip Top Club See what we thought about ALL the entertainment at Jollywood Nights! There are also lots of opportunities to meet rare characters such as Phineas and Ferb, Max Goof as Powerline, Santa Stitch, Santa Duffy, and many more. There are more than 20 characters you can meet during the night. We even spotted Doctor Strange walking around Grand Avenue and you can find The Mandalorian and Grogu in Stars Wars Galaxy’s Edge. If you like characters, Jollywood Nights has PLENTY of opportunities for meeting some rare characters. The Mandalorian and Grogu See the characters you can meet at Jollywood Nights! The event also features a variety of themed food and drinks that you can purchase. We always love trying out all the new themed food and drink and this year we tried over 15 new items! There are so many options, and you could likely spend all evening just trying out food. You can also make reservations for Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby which is a sit-down experience that features live jazz music. Duffy Brownie See our reviews of all the treats at Jollywood Nights! As well, you can shop a variety of event-exclusive merchandise. This merchandise is only available for Jollywood Nights attendees. Ollie the Gingerbread Man is being featured front and center on lots of the merchandise this year including a spirit jersey, Lug bag, t-shirt, and more! Lug Bag Take a look at ALL the event exclusive merchandise! You can also take advantage of low wait times for select attractions in the park. Some of these attractions include Slinky Dog Dash, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad, Rock N’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. For the most part, wait times for attractions were less than 15 minutes most of the night. Slinky Dog Dash and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance had some of the longer waits, but the highest Slinky Dog Dash got was 60 minutes and the highest Stars Wars: Rise of the Resistance got was 35 minutes. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance See what the wait times look like during Jollywood Nights! There are also some awesome special experiences and photo-ops. You can have your own GlamBOT moment with a backdrop inspired by Muppets Christmas Carol, and get a photo in a multi-camera photo op. Plus, photo downloads are included with your party ticket so you can take ALL the photos and download them for free! Muppets Christmas Carol Photo Op Check out some of the unique photo ops at Jollywood Nights! There is definitely a lot to discover at Jollywood Nights, but is it worth spending up to $179 for? While we wish we could provide you a definite yes or no answer, the true answer is that it really depends. It depends on what you and your family want to experience, as well as how much you are willing to spend. You probably won’t be able to get everything that is offered at Jollywood Nights done during the event, but are the things that you could get done worth it for you? Holidays in Hollywood There are some unique offerings, and the event is a festive way to celebrate the season in style. There are lots and lots of entertainment offerings, and they are all offerings you would not be able to see during normal hours. You can also meet rare characters, try out new foods, and pick up exclusive merchandise. As well, wait times for the attractions were low so you would be able to ride your favorites. While we enjoyed our time at Jollywood Nights, the event isn’t going to be for everyone. Consider the offerings and decide whether you think this event is best for your family! Santa Duffy We definitely enjoyed our time at Jollywood Nights, and we thought the event has improved since last year. Last year’s event was a bit controversial and overwhelmed by crowds. There seemed to be long lines for almost everything and many people questioned whether it was worth the price tag. This year had less lines for special offerings and Disney also added more entertainment and character meet and greets. The event time was also extended by an hour from last year. We love the atmosphere and how much there is to do. From special entertainment to character meet and greets, to photo opportunities and themed treats, you will be having a jolly time all evening long. Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! As we celebrate Veterans Day today, we salute all those who have bravely served in the U.S. military. Our admiration of those who serve in uniform and their families has been enduring since the founding of our company more than 100 years ago including our founders Walt and Roy O. Disney who served their country during the First World War. We have been fortunate to welcome thousands of veterans to The Walt Disney Company since launching the Heroes Work Here program in 2012. He focuses on great content, storytelling, and striking visuals to bring Marvel characters to life. USO Care Kit Assembly at Disneyland Resort As we continue to recognize National Veterans and Military Families Month, we were honored to continue helping our friends at the USO create care kits for deployed service members among the many ways we salute those who serve in uniform. During a Disney VoluntEARS event at Disneyland Resort, cast members including several from the SALUTE veterans employee resource group packed an impressive 2,000 USO care kits to send to deployed service members around the globe. To date, Disney has assembled more than 21,000 care kits this year. In addition, Disney VoluntEARS and SALUTE members in Glendale will assemble 500 care packages filled with Disney home goods and other essentials for Blue Star Families to help welcome military families that transition into new communities. Many of the care packages will be sent to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida to help families impacted by the recent hurricanes. Thank you to all who ever wore the uniform and for those who continue to stand watch around the world. Thank you for your service this Veterans Day and every day. It’s been about 2.5 years since the release of MagicBand+ in Disney World (we know, it feels like it hasn’t been that long, right?), and it’s been accepted pretty well. MagicBand+ MagicBands aren’t required for your vacation in the slightest, and neither is a MagicBand+, but they can make things easier and add a little extra magic. The difference between MagicBand and MagicBand+ is that while both will hold your information and allow you to make purchases, tap into Lightning Lanes, and unlock your hotel room, MagicBand+ needs to be charged regularly so it can interact with the golden statues and other aspects of the Disney World parks. However, Disney recently added some new features to MagicBand+ bands that you won’t want to miss out on! Disney’s Hollywood Studios Over in Hollywood Studios, your MagicBand+ will now interact with several of the park’s shows! At the Frozen Sing-Along, your MagicBand+ will now light up blue whenever Elsa uses her ice powers, and it will also vibrate to prompt you to sing along with the music! Frozen Sing Along Over at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, our MagicBand+ tended to light up orange or red any time there were explosions or fire and vibrated at the larger explosions! It’s red! And over at the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, our MagicBand+ seemed to have more random vibrations and light flashes, and we specifically noticed it appeared to glow purple when Belle was having a strong emotional reaction, but other than that it was a little hard to track. Beauty and the Beast Sing Along We’re planning to go back and test it again in a few weeks when it has time to settle in! Animal Kingdom In a similar fashion, your MagicBand+ will now interact with lights and vibrations when you go to see Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond! MagicBand+ We’re planning to test out these changes ourselves very soon, but we’re hoping we’ll continue to see more additions made in this park in the near future. Disney Springs If you’re visiting the Christmas Tree Stroll this holiday season and you have a MagicBand+, you may notice “a little more magic” as you approach the trees! Your MagicBand+ will interact with the trees in a NEW way. Christmas tree in Disney Springs These fun Disney-themed trees just went up on November 8th and will be available through December 30th this year. Even if you don’t have a MagicBand+, we highly recommend going to see this exciting offering! Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll 2023 Looking for more recent holiday news? Okay, so the last time I was in Disneyland, as a Star Wars nerd, I ended up spending a LOT of time in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland So while my friends rode Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run (and sorta got stuck on it), I was enjoying a Cold Brew Black Caf and sitting UNDER the Falcon, just enjoying a quiet evening in Batuu. Then, a Cast Member came up and told me I had to move because the fireworks were starting soon. Okay, so I was confused. But wait…then Cast Members came out and blocked out an area near the Falcon for fireworks viewing. Yes, you could see the Disneyland fireworks from there (but without the music) — and not a lot of people even knew about it. It was AWESOME…but now things have changed. Earlier this year, Disneyland announced its Season of the Force, which celebrates all things Star Wars. The event, which happens in the spring, brings a ton of new Star Wars offerings to the park. This year, one of those offerings was called “Fire of the Rising Moons.” This particular entertainment includes a viewing of the regular Disneyland fireworks from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, but for Season of the Force, Disney added a John Williams Star Wars score and essentially created a NEW version of its fireworks. Fire of the Rising Moons So my favorite sorta secret spot to watch fireworks in Disneyland with fewer crowds than what you’d find on Main Street, U.S.A. suddenly became its own entertainment event. After Season of the Force ended, this Star Wars-themed version of the fireworks continued, and now, it’s so popular, that we previously reported that Disney would be offering a dining package for it. Now, that dining package is available. Fire of the Rising Moons You can now reserve your spot for the “Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo Nighttime Gathering,” where you’ll get to eat some yummy snacks at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, enjoy a refreshing beverage, and get a special viewing spot for the Fire of the Rising Moons fireworks show. The package includes the following: Fried Cheeseburger Croquette Bites Apricot goat cheese topped with honey, za’atar, sour cherry gel, cheddar, Monterey jack and pita chips Dragon fruit yogurt topped with lychee popping pearls and fresh blueberries Cream puff pair of Black Caf cold brew and blue milk flavors Unlimited fountain beverages Specialty nonalcoholic beverages in a souvenir novelty cup Exclusive access to a standing view area of Falcon Overlook for fireworks viewing A selection of wine, beer and hard seltzer will also be available for purchase for those ages 21 and over. Docking Bay 7 in Disneyland The dining package is $89 per person, and you’ll still need a park ticket and a park pass reservation to attend. Also, Disneyland fireworks only happen on select evenings, not every night. Kylo Ren Meanwhile, I’m going to go mourn one of my best Disneyland secrets (and then probably book the dining package for my next trip). Stay tuned to DFB for more. The holiday season has officially arrived in Disneyland. Actually, it arrived BEFORE Halloween because Sleeping Beauty Castle got its snow before spooky season ended (it happens every year, but we STILL think it’s a little TOO early). Snow on Sleeping Beauty Castle We’re ready to visit the Disney Festival of the Holidays in California Adventure and eat a TON of holiday snacks. However, another Disneyland holiday tradition is coming up soon, too, and that’s the Candlelight Processional. Well, now we know WHEN you’ll be able to see the Candlelight Processional in Disneyland. According to The Orange County Register, Disneyland’s Candlelight Processional will be held on December 7th and 8th at 5:30PM and 7:45PM each evening. The Candlelight Processional features a 600-member choir and a celebrity narrator who tells the story of Christmas. 2023 Candlelight Processional Unlike EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional, Disneyland never reveals the name of the celebrity narrator until the event begins. However, in previous years, narrators have included Brie Larson, Viola Davis, John Stamos, Van Dyke, Sterling K. Brown, Kurt Russell, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. 2023 Candlelight Processional Note that Disneyland park pass reservations disappear quickly for the days of this event, so you’ll want to get those made ASAP. There is a reserved seating area, but it’s set aside for invited guests, including VIPs and executives, community members, Club 33 members, and the like. If you’d like to catch the event, you’ll need to stake out a spot in front of the Main Street Railroad Station early enough to get a decent viewing area. Note that many who get to view the Candlelight Processional stake out seats HOURS in advance. 2023 event If you’re visiting Disneyland during the Candlelight Processional, note that some backstage areas will be open to allow you to navigate through the park while the front area is packed with people watching the ceremony. If you’d just like to listen to it, you can hear it along Main Street, U.S.A. Stay tuned to DFB for more. Everything That Will Be CLOSED in Disneyland in 2025 Want to Learn More About Disneyland? The holiday season is officially in full swing in Disney World. The decorations are up. The giant Christmas trees are here. We’ve been to both Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party AND Jollywood Nights. Disney’s Beach Club Resort It’s such a great time to visit Disney World. One of our favorite things about the holidays in Disney World, though, is seeing all the amazing gingerbread displays at the hotels. We’ve already seen the gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, as well as the gingerbread castle Disney’s Contemporary Resort, but now the display at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is up. So come with us as we check it out! So the display at the Beach Club is a Carousel — but it has a theme. This year’s theme is Mickey’s Christmas Carol. Okay, this one is SO fun, y’all. Look at how huge it is. Now, don’t forget — this baby is EDIBLE (but it’s also art, so you can’t eat it). It’s MASSIVE You’ll find a list of the ingredients used in building the carousel, and WHOA, it’s a lot. Yes, even the list is edible. Disney chefs are AMAZING. Can you believe they’ve been doing this for 24 years? That’s a LOT of ingredients The horses on this carousel are part of the story. Look at these HORSES A closer look at one of the horses shows Scrooge McDuck as Ebeneezer Scrooge, surrounded by a cornucopia of holiday food and a candelabra — and so our story begins. Scrooge McDuck horse Look at this incredible level of detail Disney Chefs have added to this horse. Again, THIS IS ALL EDIBLE. Incredible detail This horse represents the scene where Ebeneezer sees his own grave. Okay, things just got DARK. The scene with the Ghost of Christmas Future You’ll find the Jacob Marley horse in front of the carousel. Spooky! Jacob Marley horse Did we mention that you could also get some special treats at a special pop-up shop near the display? You can! We picked up some adorable Gingerbread Macarons with Gingerbread Ganache. You can get a box of four for $10.99. In general, macarons are expensive, but this is a pretty good deal with four. It’s a gingerbread man! We love that these aren’t your typical round macarons, but they’re shaped like gingerbread men. However, you’ll need to like gingerbread flavors and macarons to appreciate these little guys. They’re light and flavorful with JUST the right amount of filling so that the flavor is well-balanced. These could make for a really good gift if you wanted to take some home (just note, macarons don’t have a long shelf life and can go stale quickly if not refrigerated or frozen). Perfect amount of filling We also picked up the Spiced Orange and Cranberry Bundt Cake for $5.79. First, this little cake is Insta-worthy. But it’s also DELICIOUS. It’s very moist and the spices and orange flavor really come through. Plus you get loads of cranberries adding to that flavor. Spiced Orange and Cranberry Bundt Cake There’s granulated sugar sprinkled on top to add a little crunch, along with the frosting, which is slightly hardened. This is a treat that just tastes like the holidays. DELICIOUS So if you are visiting Disney World during the holidays, be sure to make time to visit the gingerbread displays at the hotels. Deciding where to eat in EPCOT can be daunting! Spaceship Earth There are SO many quick service and table service restaurants to choose from, not to mention the food booths that are spread throughout the park for most of the year. But here at DFB, we’ve been to all the restaurants, and we like to revisit them frequently to see if they’re worth recommending for your vacation. That’s why I’m taking you along with me to dine in the Mexico Pavilion! Atmosphere A little while ago, I had lunch at San Angel Inn Restaurante in the Mexico Pavilion. This is the restaurant that’s actually INSIDE the pyramid, tucked away next to Gran Fiesta Tour. (Not to be confused with La Hacienda de San Angel, which is the table service restaurant outside of the pyramid — although, I did review that one recently as well.) Let’s go to San Angel! This is known for being one of the darker restaurants in Disney World, because the inside of the Mexico pyramid is made to look like a market at nighttime. So here, every table is decorated with a small lamp. Seating The restaurant also overlooks the opening scene of Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros. The boat ride launches right next door to the dining area, so if you sit at a table on the railing, you’ll be waving at other guests all meal long. A view of the ride The tables here are pretty close together, and most of them are located in one main area of the restaurant. Not exactly the best place to dine for privacy, but during my visit, they weren’t at capacity so it wasn’t too bad. The tables are quite close There is one small section of the restaurant with seating over by the bathrooms that’s a little bit more private. Seating near the restrooms Now that we’ve taken the tour, let’s talk about the eats! Menu San Angel Inn serves Mexican-inspired cuisine. They’ve got a selection of appetizers like guacamole, totopos, queso fundido, chilaquiles, and more. For entrees, you can choose from a selection that includes tacos, salad, pork, grilled chicken, and enchiladas. San Angel Inn Menu The restaurant also serves a number of signature drinks, some of which can also be found at La Cava del Tequila. Signature Drinks The backside of the menu is dedicated to more beverages, including tequila, mezcal, handcrafted margaritas, and flights. San Angel Inn Menu If you’d prefer something milder, they have wines and sangria, as well as non-alcoholic mocktails. More beverages Now that we’ve reviewed the list, let’s dive in! Eats I ordered a sampling of a few different items from the menu to get the full picture. Time to eat! The spread! First up, we’ve got my drink, which was the Mentirosa. This is one of the mocktail options, and it’s available for $14. It’s made with Almave blanco, watermelon juice, lime juice, raspberry agave, herbal hint, and a salt rim. This had some strong watermelon and raspberry flavors, and the herbal elements kind of warmed my mouth, even though the drink was served over ice. The lime helps brighten things up a bit, and the salt rim adds a fun element when you sip from that edge. I would definitely order this again! Mentirosa For my first appetizer, I ordered the Totopos for $9, which are corn chips served with white cheddar cheese sauce and salsa. This honestly surprised me…and not necessarily in a good way. Why? Because it seems to be the same offering served outside at the quick service spot, La Cantina de San Angel. Totopos The salsa was pretty spicy, especially for a Disney restaurant, and it had a bit of a roasted tomato flavor to it. It’s got a decent ranchero-like flavor, but if you’re averse to spice in any way, this probably isn’t for you, Salsa The cheese was an interesting experience. It’s white cheddar instead of a typical Mexican restaurant queso, which makes it very strong flavor-wise. It also cools down and firms up incredibly quickly — doesn’t hold that dippable texture for long. Pair that with the fact that the chips were a bit too thick and crunchy, and I’ll say that this definitely wasn’t the best chips-queso-salsa combo I’ve ever had in my life. Queso But don’t dismay, our other appetizer was a WINNER! This was the Chilaquiles con Pato, which has sadly been removed from the menu since my visit. Chilaquiles con Pato In their place, you can now get chilaquiles with chicken or ribeye, but the duck version was surprisingly yummy. They were made with tortilla chips tossed in Ranchera salsa and topped with crema Mexicana. There was a great blend of cheesy, spicy, and rich flavors, and the duck was crispy and savory. The main problem with these overall is that the chips would get a bit soggy and all the toppings were concentrated on the top. I’ll be interested to see if those issues are fixed with the new version. There’s a decent portion of chips For my entree, I decided on the Baja Tacos de Pescado for $32. These are made with beer-battered fried cod, shredded cabbage, chipotle-lime aioli, and pineapple relish in flour tortillas. Can you say YUM? Baja Tacos de Pescado These were quite delicious, and I liked them better than the fish tacos over at La Hacienda de San Angel! The fish was crispy on the outside and tender in the middle without being too dry. The slaw came in decent portions, served perfectly crispy, and the sauce added a nice creamy texture. I only wish that there had been a bit more of the pineapple relish to really brighten these up overall. Baja Tacos Finally, we’ve got dessert! This was the Pan de Elote Tres Leches for $12 and it was incredible! It’s made with rice milk-soaked Mexican corn bread topped with sweetcorn gelato and toasted almonds. Pan de Elote Tres Leches This was such a unique and interesting dessert, and everything worked beautifully together. The cornbread was soft with a mildly sweet flavor, and the rice milk kept it nice and moist. The almonds add a crunchy element, and the gelato on top is smooth and creamy and draws everything together. Dessert! So where does San Angel Inn stand for me? Overall In the end, I was more impressed with my meal here than I expected to be! This restaurant is often known as the lesser of the two table service restaurants in Mexico, but there were some elements of my meal here that I enjoyed more than over at La Hacienda. The dessert in particular was spectacular, and those tacos have the other ones beat! My table Ultimately, I think this is a great restaurant to visit if it’s not too busy, but I think it could be a bit uncomfortable on a crowded day with all those tables crammed in. My service was spectacular, and the meal was pretty timely overall. Nosh or Not? Dine inside the pyramid at San Angel Inn if… You want the water ride to entertain your children. If you’ve got antsy kids who need to sit through a table service meal, watching the boats from Gran Fiesta Tour would be a great pastime. You’ll need to request a waterside table though, and it’s not guaranteed. You’re with a small party. This restaurant isn’t exactly made for large parties with its cramped setup, but it would be a great spot for a dinner for two. You want some pretty solid Mexican food. The menu here was overall pretty good and I enjoyed most everything I ate! Skip San Angel and scoot around the World Showcase if… You have good Mexican food in your hometown. The eats here are yummy, but they’re nothing revolutionary if you’ve got a delicious cantina in your hometown. You want the best of what World Showcase or EPCOT has to offer. Even though the meal was pretty good, there are several other restaurants in EPCOT that I would recommend before this one. Places like Le Cellier, Chefs de France, and even Nine Dragons have served me meals that I would rank a little higher. You’re on a budget. If you want Mexican food but you don’t want to spend the $$$, some of the items at La Cantina de San Angel are pretty delicious too. San Angel Inn Thanks for coming along on my dining review! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a very special after hours event that happens each year. Snoap almost always makes us emotional Between the snoap (that’s snow+soap) falling on Main Street, U.S.A., the holly jolly atmosphere, ride overlays, exciting entertainment, the iconic parade, and fireworks, there are a lot of moments that can make you emotional. While we were definitely feeling the emotions throughout the night, there was something we stumbled upon that genuinely made us burst into happy tears. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party happens on select nights from 7PM to midnight. We made the most of our party ticket by squeezing in as many things as possible during the event. In fact, as the night was ending, we decided to make one more stop for a free drink. While we were rushing to get hot chocolate before the party officially ended, we passed through Frontierland and stumbled across the Reindeer Wranglers. They perform throughout the party in Frontierland and serenade you with holiday tunes. But that wasn’t what made us cry — no, it was this. Reindeer Wranglers with Cast Members The Wranglers were singing “Hallelujah” to this line of party Cast Members, who were slowly swaying back and forth to the music, really feeling the music and soaking in the moment as they sang along. You could truly feel the love and holiday cheer of the moment and how special it all was. You really had to be there to fully feel the moment, but we did capture this video to give you a little glimpse of the magic. https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/2024-WDW-magic-kingdom-mickeys-very-merry-chrismas-party-reindeer-wranglers-cast-members-sweet-moment-video-1.mp4 Honestly, we just teared up again while we were rewatching it! You never know what you may find while you’re running around the party, and it was a moment that really stopped us and reminded us to take a breath and feel the Disney holiday magic. Bet you didn’t know the Mandalorian celebrates Jollywood Nights with Grogu in Batuu! That’s right. This Hollywood Studios holiday event had it ALL — festive characters, food, music, dancing, and even some fun surprises in Galaxy’s Edge. The Mandalorian and Grogu Speaking of surprises in Galaxy’s Edge, we’ve got a secret to share! For all the Jollywood Nights guests 21+ who are looking for a drink during the party, we’re here with a hot tip. Do NOT waste your time standing in a long line for drinks — go HERE instead! The Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club is one of the hottest spots to go during Jollywood Nights. There’s live music, dancers, and drinks! But, depending on when you visit, you might encounter a long line just to get a cocktail. Tip Top Club This location near Disney’s Tower of Terror attraction has some fun seasonal drinks, but if you’re looking for a more unique cocktail (with no line), there’s a better place to go. Here’s a peek at the menu Hot tip! During the Jollywood Nights event, you do NOT need a reservation to visit Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge. During our visit, there wasn’t even a wait list — we just walked right in. Talk about a RARE opportunity! Oga’s Cantina The menu does not change during the event, but this space bar is full of interesting drinks. We love the iconic Fuzzy Tauntaun drink, but there’s something for everyone here (even kids!!). Fuzzy Tauntaun Keep in mind that there’s a LOT to do during the party, so we wouldn’t recommend spending more than 30–45 minutes at Oga’s. Oh, and we would also suggest ordering the party-exclusive snacks around the park over the treats on the Oga’s Cantina menu. No offense, Disney, but we’d rather enjoy a holiday cookie over this…food. Oga’s Obsession Well, there you have it! This is a great time to visit Oga’s Cantina — it’s not too often you can walk right in with no reservation. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney holiday news, so stay tuned for more. When you’re planning out your stay at Walt Disney World, you really only have a couple of options when it comes to the hotels on the property. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Specifically you’ve got Value, Moderate, and Deluxe resort hotels. But when you look at all of the new options, it starts to seem that you’ve really only got one — Deluxe hotels. Now, that got us thinking about this trend of no new Moderate or Value resorts in Disney World, so we reached out to you to get your thoughts. Well, we asked and you delivered! We reached out to our followers on Facebook to ask: “What are your thoughts on Disney World adding more deluxe resorts to its property? Do you think it’s a good idea, or should Disney be adding more value resorts?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments! What do you think? Now, you were basically divided into one of two camps, so let’s dive into some of your top responses! Say it with Me: “More Affordable Options!” No one can deny that a big part of Disney World’s charm has always been that it offers something for everyone, and that includes hotels at various price points. So, when the idea of even more deluxe hotels being constructed came up, many of you expressed concern that Disney could be drifting away from affordability, which is totally understandable. To that point, many of you felt that Disney should prioritize value and moderate options that are accessible to families and fans who don’t want to break the bank on their hotel room. Disney’s Pop Century Resort For example, Sue put it plainly, saying, “They definitely need more affordable hotels, whether it’s moderate or value. Honestly, deluxe is way out of our price range, and I suspect it is for so many others.” Stacy added simply that, “More and nicer Moderates are desperately needed!!!” Jayme echoed this by adding, “More value. I would love to see a value that’s not the over theming of Disney. Maybe more of a subtle Disney like the deluxe and moderates.” Coronado Springs Nyree shared a nuanced perspective, saying, “If more available deluxe rooms brought the price down I’d be all for it, but I don’t see Disney ever lowering prices for anything. I would like more moderate options that aren’t exclusively only using bus transportation. I can’t afford deluxe, I would like a nicer room/pool/dining options than value, but I don’t want to only use busses like at Port Orleans or Coronado Springs. Maybe building another moderate on the Skyliner or on the Monorail would be nice. I know a lot of people dislike CBR but it’s my favorite simply for the Skyliner access.” Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Skyliner You can see the theme here, right? You are calling for more budget-friendly options that still offer a touch of magic but don’t come with the steep price tags of deluxe resorts. How About We Stop with the Hotels and Focus on Something Else? For our second group, others of you think the focus should be ANYWHERE but on more hotel expansions. Specifically, you feel that Disney World needs to put resources into building more attractions (or even new parks) to keep up with the ever-growing crowds. For you, more rooms without more activities just means longer lines and packed walkways. Crowds in Magic Kingdom For example, Maribeth voiced a pretty popular sentiment, saying, “They need to be adding another park so crowds can spread out and guests can actually ride all the rides. They keep building resorts but no additional places for people to go to.” Everyone waiting patiently to get in Similarly, Joseph took a hard stance with, “I think they need to stop adding ANY RESORTS and start adding more attractions…” To that point, Cheri added, “I’d actually rather they work on giving us new attractions without taking away the existing ones. Every time they say we’re getting something new, we’re really just getting a replacement for something we already enjoy.” Animal Kingdom crowds In short, you are hoping for more rides, and not just more rooms. You’re all for ensuring there’s enough for everyone to do without long waits and overcrowded spaces. Magic Kingdom Those were just some of your thoughts on Disney World adding more deluxe resorts to its property, and now we want to hear even more from you! Tickets are up to $219 per person for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year. Snacks around the parks cost more than they did last year. Hotels prices hit a peak around the holiday season. It’s not cheap to visit Disney World between November and December. Party map! But, come on, it’s one of the most magical times of year to visit Disney World; we can’t blame you for considering a trip to Florida this year. There are festive Christmas trees. Gingerbread displays. Holiday entertainment. It’s a great time! Should you splurge on a trip and go to Disney World for the holidays? We can’t answer that question for you. Is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party worth it this year? Well, we visit the party every single year, so we can share what we know about the party this year to help you decide. General Overview Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a seasonal Magic Kingdom event that happens on select nights between November 8th and December 20th. The party begins at 7PM and ends at midnight, but you can enter the Magic Kingdom as early as 4PM. A ticket to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party comes with a lot of party-exclusive events and activities, like a holiday stage show, character meet-and-greets, and special treats. One popular perk of the party is the complimentary Cookie and Cocoa at designated spots throughout Magic Kingdom. FREE Cookies and Cocoa! Plus, you can ride several Magic Kingdom attractions with little to no wait. (Even the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride!) The real star of the show, though, is the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, which runs twice per Party night at 8:30PM and 11PM. For a lot of people, this parade alone is worth the price of the ticket. Mickeys Once Upon A Christmastime Parade Speaking of ticket prices, they’re not cheap. Adult ticket prices vary by date and range from $169 to $219 (Children ages 3 to 9 are $10 less than adult prices per night). The closer the party is to Christmas, the more expensive the ticket. Club Tinsel Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s talk about the experience. Everything you need to know about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Is it worth the cost? Well, it depends. One thing we can say is that with the price having increased this year, we do think the party itself has improved since last year. The addition of Santa’s Carnival was FANTASTIC and gives you even more things to do with fun games and snoap. It was a great way to change up the Santa meet-and-greet. Santa’s Christmas Carnival Also, we feel like the free cookies and hot cocoa that you can get are even better than the free candy at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It feels like a more substantial offering than what you get at the Halloween Party. Granted, we also liked a lot of the exclusive snacks we bought at the party, but you could just fill up on cookies and hot cocoa and call it a night. Frosted cookies in Tomorrowland We also felt like we saw more characters this year, and even stumbled upon The Country Bears doing a Christmas hoedown with live musicians. There were a lot of holiday magical moments like this throughout the night that you don’t necessarily get during the day. Aurora and Prince Phillip Ride wait times are also generally low, although you probably don’t want to spend valuable party time just doing rides because there’s so much else to do that you can’t usually do with a day park ticket. Welcome to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Ultimately, you will have to decide if the price is worth it, especially if you’re traveling with a group. We do recommend skipping a park ticket on the day you attend the party, though. Just take a break at your hotel that morning and head to Magic Kingdom at 4PM, when you can get into the park early with your party ticket. That will give you about eight hours of park time for just a little more than what a park ticket would cost. Yes, the party is shorter than a full-day park ticket, but Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party offers more things to do in a shorter time, so overall, yes, it very well may be worth it. We’re LIVE from the First Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of 2024 in Disney World! The decision is up to you! Sure, the party is expensive, but for a lot of people, this is a bucket list item that could be worth the splurge. Make sure to do your research before you buy those tickets! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. We’re ushering in the holiday season at Disney World the best way we know how — at exclusive parties, of course! Disney Jollywood Nights (2023) This year’s Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios runs from November 9th through December 21st. We visited the very first night, taking in all the sights, sounds, smells, and MORE that the special event has to offer — and right now, we’re checking out all the special photo ops throughout the event! Throughout Jollywood Nights, you’ll find tons of special photo ops set up around the park. This year, there’s a brand new MUPPETS CHRISTMAS CAROL photo op, and we were so excited to check it out! We are SO excited about this! You’ll find the new Muppets photo op inside the Stage 1 Company Store on Grand Avenue. New Muppets Photo Op So, what makes this so special? Well, as you may have noticed, that robot-lookin thing is not the typical camera we see PhotoPass photographers using in Disney World. Instead, this camera MOVES to create a short video. Strike a POSE! Oh, and don’t worry — there’s a director there to help you create the perfect Muppets Christmas Carol moment. This person was SUPER helpful! This was basically our chance to have our own Disney GlamBOT moment. (For those of you who have no idea what a GlamBOT is, please enjoy this example starring none other than THE ROCK.) The experience was a 10/10, and you HAVE to check it out during the party. There’s also a fun Camera Array Capture — it’s a multi-camera photo op you can find at the Disney Studio Store in Animation Courtyard. Camera Array Experience This one was so much fun — they’ve got PROPS, people! We love a Disney prop. Here are some ICONIC examples We also stopped by the classic Jollywood Nights neon sign for a few photos. This is a popular spot to take photos, so be prepared to wait in line. Jollywood Nights! Remember, your party ticket gives you free downloads of all photos taken during the event, so you’ll want to check those photo ops out! We had a blast! We’re checking out everything that this year’s Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has to offer, so make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! The holiday season is always so much fun. In Disney World, we get to celebrate with all the great decorations and HUGE Christmas trees. Then there are, of course, the snacks! Plus, we get to go to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! It’s HERE! However, the holiday season also brings fun new merchandise to stores in Disney World AND The Disney Store online, as well as a lot of discounts and sales. Well, now, The Disney Store is teasing something new, but we have NO IDEA what the announcement means (leave it to Disney to be cryptic, right?). So please — help us decode it! Okay, so there’s a message on The Disney Store website, and all it says is “Magic in the Making” with the date November 12th and the words “Something special is coming.” That’s coming up soon! But what does that even mean? Is it new merchandise? Is it a special deal for Disney+ subscribers? Is it a free shipping offer? Is it something we haven’t imagined yet? WHAT DOES IT MEAN? ©Disney The graphic features a TON of Disney characters, including characters from Marvel, Pixar, and Disney’s animated movies. So, what kind of magic is in the making? Then there’s the pixie dust at the top of the graphic — is that referencing anything specifically, or is it just referencing the magic that’s coming on November 12th? WE NEED HELP FIGURING THIS OUT. Bo Peep at Jollywood Nights Honestly, it could mean anything, so we’re all just going to have to try and be patient for a few days until Disney makes the big reveal. The company LOVES to tease us, though. Ugh! Stay tuned to DFB for more. Amazon Just Launched an Epic 3D Holiday Shop Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Alright, Disney fam, we need to talk. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom So you know how you get that “magical” thrill when you’re gliding through one of your favorite Disney World attractions, the music swells, you’re totally immersed in the story, and you feel in it? Well, as excited as we are in that moment, there are rules we have to follow (can’t be going all crazy like). And on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, there is at least one rule every Cast Member is low-key begging you to keep in mind! As we were saying, at Disney World, it’s no just about following “rules” for the sake of it. These guidelines help keep the magic alive for everyone. And on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, every Cast Member is low-key begging you to at least keep one of them in mind! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Don’t Jump Out of the Boat Honestly, we can’t believe that we even need to say this, but please do not jump out of the boat! We get it. Maybe you’ve dropped something, or you’re dying for the perfect photo angle, but this isn’t a splash zone or some hopping-off point. Not only is it super dangerous to yourself and others, but you’ll end up getting the entire ride shut down faster than you can say “beignets.” Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! Remember, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure isn’t a free-for-all, and the water isn’t exactly a lazy river. The Cast Members are looking out for your safety and are trained to keep everyone on board safe and secure. So, let’s stay seated and let the magic happen around us! Keep Your Hands, Arms, and Gumbo Inside the Boat Imagine this: You’re gliding past lush Louisiana landscapes, all the vibrant colors, and those intricate swamp scenes that Disney Imagineers have spent years bringing to life. The temptation to reach out and feel it all is real, but trust us, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is not a touch museum. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure By keeping your hands, arms, and feet inside the boat, you help maintain the ride’s atmosphere and let the story unfold naturally. Not only that, but the scenes are built for looks, not durability. Honestly, it’s best to just enjoy the visuals from a respectful distance. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure At the end of the day, rules like these ones help the Cast Members keep the Disney magic flowing seamlessly. When you stay in the boat, keep your hands to yourself, and resist the urge to go “off-script,” you’re not just protecting yourself, you’re also ensuring that every other guest enjoys the experience, too. The first night of Jollywood Nights is here — the holiday season can officially begin! Jollywood Nights 2024 — ©Disney We’re here at the first night of the party to show you exactly what everything is like so you can prepare for your visit (INSERT LINK). While there’s so much to experience during this after hours event, the entertainment and special shows you can’t see any other time is certainly a highlight. Come check it out with us! You’ll want to check your party map to see when these entertainment offerings will be presented each night of the party, because trust us, you won’t want to miss them! Glisten — A Skating Spectacular The new show this year is Glisten, which features international champion skaters dancing on the ice to holiday music! You can find this show at 8:15 PM, 9:15PM, 10:20PM, 11:15PM and 12:15AM. Glisten You’ll find this show on Hollywood Boulevard, where you’ll be able to see projections on the Chinese Theater to tie the whole show together. Look at that lift! We really enjoyed this show and would recommend it! It only is a 15-minute show so it won’t eat away too much of your party time, which is important when the party is pretty short. The ice skating was impressive and it really put us in the holiday spirit! We enjoyed this! Holidays in Hollywood Over at Theater of the Stars on Sunset Boulevard, you’ll find Miss Piggy and Kermit hosting a spectacular show featuring lots of singing and dancing, and of course, some of the classic antics between the two Muppets. Holidays in Hollywood Showtimes are 8:15PM, 9:15PM, 11:15PM and 12:15AM. Missy Piggy and Kermit The whole premise of this new show is that you’re the live audience of the filming of a Holiday Special show. Kermit and Miss Piggy are joined by lots of other Disney characters like Belle, Mickey, and Minnie! Mickey and Minnie This show is a MUST-DO for us. We love all the different characters that come together for this show. This show makes us feel so much joy! It has elements of comedy, love, and we loved the lead singers. We loved this! What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along Fans of The Nightmare Before Christmas will want to stop by the Hyperion Theatre to see this sing-along, which has been transformed to match the show’s spooky feel. Shows are at 7:30PM, 8:30PM, 9:30PM, 11:30PM, and 12:30AM. Jack! Two Cast Members will lead you on this dreamlike adventure inspired by the film, and you’ll even get to see Oogie Boogie and Jack himself! Oogie Boogie Echo Lake Throwback Bash There is also a throwback bash that happens over at Echo Lake where you can stir up nostalgia for the 1990s and 2000s. You never know who you might spot during the bash from Phineas and Ferb to Max Goof as Powerline. Plus, there are some new additions this year including Baloo and King Louie! Baloo Holiday Fiesta en la Calle You can also head over to Animation Courtyard for a lively holiday street fair. Holiday Fiesta en la Calle happens from 7:30PM until 12:30AM. Holiday Fiesta en la Calle The fair features warm lighting, festive decor, and live musicians performing Latin holiday tunes. During the celebration, you may even spot a special appearance from José Carioca and Panchito. Holiday Fiesta en la Calle Pixar Place Dance Party Pixar Place is also getting a new addition this year. Pixar Place is hosting a rockin’ dance party with some of your favorite Pixar friends including Joy, Frozone, and Edna Mode. We headed over to Pixar Place to check out the party! Pixar Disco Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! One of the biggest shows of the night is the fireworks spectacular, which takes place at 10PM each party night. Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM It takes place in front of the Chinese Theater and features tons of projections set to holiday tunes. We love this show! Jazzy Holidays & Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club Jazzy Holidays is a limited-capacity event inside the event that features holiday music, craft cocktails and snacks available for purchase, and old Hollywood vibes at the Hollywood Brown Derby. Advance dining recommendations are very much recommended for this experience! Jazzy Holidays Similarly, the Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club is another limited-capacity event that takes place in the courtyard of The Hollywood Tower Hotel. Twilight Soiree You can sip on cocktails while you listen to live music from the band Rachel and the Alley Cats. This was very fun for us! In between sets, Jack and Jo, street actors, come out to entertainment. The band Be sure you head there early in the evening to grab a spot — music performances will be at 7:30PM, 8:10PM, 8:50PM, 9:30PM, 10:30PM, 11:10PM, and 11:50PM each night. We would highly recommend to catch this! It does get crowded by there so be aware of that. Great show! Projections on Tower of Terror The beloved Hollywood Holiday Tower Hotel projection show is BACK at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! We already love looking at the Tower of Terror. But now, we have even more of a reason to gaze at its beauty. Christmas Projections The show uses projections, lights, music, and the nearby screen “billboard” to show clips that complement the projections. Toy Story! We love that you can watch this while snoap is falling around you! Snoap! Characters Don’t forget about all the characters you can see throughout the night as well! Baloo or King Louie from Talespin – appearing at Echo Lake Baloo José Carioca or Panchito from The Three Caballeros – appearing at Animation Courtyard We love rare characters! We are at the first night of Jollywood Nights 2024! Jollywood Nights We are so excited to bring you along with us as we check out the holly dazzle of this fashionable holiday event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! There’s ice skating, dancing, singing, rides, drinks, food, and so much more. But one thing that’s got us extra excited is all the new characters you can meet at this specially ticketed event! There are TONS of characters at Jollywood Nights, and many of them are rare characters, so meeting them at this event is extra special. Several of the characters are returning from last year, such as Phineas and Ferb, Max Goof as Powerline, Santa Stitch, Santa Duffy, and more. But this year brings NEW characters, so let’s go meet them! Doctor Strange We sure didn’t have Doctor Strange on our bingo card for a character we would see at Jollywood Nights, but here we are! We were surprised to see Doctor Strange roaming around Grand Avenue and chatting with guests. He doesn’t show up on the app so it is a surprise on when he will be out and about. Doctor Strange Louie and Baloo from TaleSpin We met Louie next to Backlot Express! It was a mighty fun time getting to meet him. Louie has his own separate meet and greet by Backlot, and you can also find Baloo in the same area. Louie You will also find Baloo at this meet and greet location. Hi Baloo! Baloo The Mandalorian Don’t forget to head over to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! You might not find too many decorations here, but you can meet Mando and Grogu! The Mandalorian and Grogu Joy from Inside Out At Pixar Place, make sure you’re ready to dance! It’s the Pixar Disco going on, and you can spot Joy from Inside Out along with Edna Mode, Frozone, and more. Joy You can also see Sadness during the Pixar Disco. Sadness Frozone is getting down at the disco! Frozone Even Mike Wazowski is joining in on the party! Mike Wazowski This year also brought back some fan-favorites, and we got a chance to meet some of the returning characters! Santa Duffy We also stopped by to meet Santa Duffy! We went to meet him right at 7PM and he had a 50-minute wait when we got there. We did notice that the line was shorter by the time we finished meeting him, so we probably don’t recommend rope dropping Santa Duffy unless you just really, really want to meet him first thing. Santa Duffy Pinocchio You can also find Pinocchio hanging out and meeting guests! He even has on an adorable scarf to celebrate the season. Pinocchio Jiminy Cricket But that is not all, you can also find Jiminy Cricket over by Echo Lake! He is looking mighty handsome. Jiminy Cricket We’re having a rockin’ good time at Jollywood Nights! There’s lots to do and experience here, and even more was added to this year’s event. We’re here all night, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for even more excitement! But there’s also exclusive merchandise, so let’s take a look at what we found! Jollywood Nights 2024 — ©Disney First we want to start by saying we are super impressed with this year’s selection compared to 2023. Last year, there was ONE t-shirt available to purchase at the party. But that’s not the case in 2024! Jollywood Nights also has its own exclusive mascot, a gingerbread man dressed to the nines named Ollie. You’ll find him on the event’s exclusive merchandise, like this Spirit Jersey for $79.99. Jollywood Nights is full of many different opportunities to explore, and we’re trying to hit them all tonight! Jollywood Nights There are multiple different shows to enjoy, too many snacks and drinks to count on two hands, and not to mention all the rides you can do, characters you can meet, and merchandise you can buy! But is this ONE experience, which often takes up a good bit of time during the party and can be very difficult to get into, really worth the time and money? We found out! Jazzy Holidays is a returning offering from last year’s event. It takes place at the Hollywood Brown Derby and is a speakeasy-inspired jazzy lounge where Advance Dining Reservations are highly encouraged due to its popularity and limited capacity. Jazzy Holidays We were lucky enough to get to experience this party exclusive last year, and with so many new offerings on the menu this year, we knew we had to try it out again! Atmosphere Similar to the regular Hollywood Brown Derby, this restaurant has a more elegant feel to it without being too over-the-top. There’s festive holiday decor all around, and the jazzy music really elevates the scene. The restaurant has various Christmas decorations up including garlands and lights. Jazzy Holidays The ambiance is elevated and cozy, and it could be easy to spend a lot of time enjoying the atmosphere. The music is lovely and just adds to the overall feel of the restaurant. Jazzy Holidays Now, let’s take a look at what we got to eat! Menu We got quite a few things to try out and we are excited to dig in! Full Spread First up on our list was the Chorizo Arancini with parmesan dust and salmorejo tomato sauce. This dish costs $14. Chorizo Arancini These were tasty and we thought that the addition of the chorizo made these arancini more exciting than your average ones. The chorizo added a great amount of spice and complexity to the arancini. The tomato sauce tasted light and fresh. Overall, though, it wasn’t a huge standout on the menu. It was yummy, but it wasn’t anything special. Chorizo Arancini The Hamachi Crudo was also on our list — it’s made with caper aïoli, Dijon-avocado mousse, and citrus-champagne vinaigrette. You can get it for $17. This dish was light and did not taste too fishy at all. It was very salty, but the avocado mousse helped cut through that saltiness. We thought the vinaigrette was too salty for this dish and overpowered all the other flavors. Hamachi Crudo The Jazzy Holiday Slider caught our eye as well. It’s made with Bison and pork, onion jam, dulce gorgonzola, bibb lettuce, and a brioche roll. Jazzy Holiday Slider We thought these sliders were perfectly cooked and had a warm pink in the center. We do wish there would have been some more onion jam on the slider as it was tasty, but there wasn’t enough. The gorgonzola came through in the perfect amount. These burgers were tender, and we overall really enjoyed them! Jazzy Holiday Slider The Sticky Chicken Wings with sweet-and-spicy soy were also on our radar, so we knew we had to give them a try. These guys cost $15. Sticky Chicken Wings These chicken wings were one of our favorite dishes we tried. Our only complaint with these is that they were more like chicken lollipops than drums, and we would have rather had drumsticks. The sauce was really tasty. It was sticky and savory with some smokiness to it. The house made ranch was absolutely delicious and it is what really won us over on this dish. This dish could have been smothered in the ranch and we would have been perfectly content. The pickled veggies were not our favorite, but the ranch more than made up for it! Sticky Chicken Wings Our first drink of the night here was the Spiced Pear Martini. It is made with Grey Goose Vodka, spiced pear syrup, and lemon juice and costs $17.50. The martini was a sweet martini with a slight tartness and some acidity to it. You don’t really taste the alcohol in this drink, but it definitely has a strong spiced flavor to it. Spiced Pear Martini We also tried the Peppermint Schnapps Sipping Chocolate, which is made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Peppermint Schnapps. This drink costs $17.50. Peppermint Schnapps Sipping Chocolate We thought this was a very delicious alcoholic hot chocolate. The liquor in this drink gave you a good amount of burn that helped to balance out the sweetness of the hot chocolate. The hot chocolate itself was also tasty, and it tasted like it was made with higher quality chocolate. The drink was creamy and had just the right amount of sweetness. Peppermint Schnapps Sipping Chocolate One of the non-alcoholic options here is the Holiday Mickey Hot Cocoa, which is house-made hot cocoa topped with whipped cream, caramel-chocolate brownie Mickey ears, and holiday sprinkles. If you’ve got kids with you, this very well may be the one they’re most excited about. This drink costs $5.49. Holiday Mickey Hot Cocoa The hot chocolate tasted like it was made with high quality chocolate and had a lovely, deep chocolate flavor. This drink is so much fun with the brownie Mickey ears, sprinkles, and whipped cream. Overall We really enjoyed our time at Jazzy Holidays and the ambiance is fantastic. While it is such a great experience, it is a bit hard to justify doing a table service experience during Jollywood Nights. You only have a limited time to see everything that the event has to offer, and this experience will take a bit of time. Knowing what you want to order ahead of time and letting your waiter know that you would like a quicker experience can definitely help move things along, but it is hard to say that this is a must-do when there is so much else to see at Jollywood Nights. Jazzy Holidays We really enjoyed the food and the ambiance but hesitate to say it is worth your time when you only have five hours at Jollywood Nights.
