Planning to head to EPCOT to eat and drink around the World Showcase soon? We’ve got an important update to know before you go! Rose & Crown When it comes to a visit to EPCOT, sometimes snagging delicious food and drinks from around the world is higher on the must-do list than even some of the most popular attractions — trust us, we speak from experience! But if you’re currently mapping out all the dining and drinking spots you want to hit on your next trip to the park, we’ve got an update that might shift your plans! There are a few quintessential EPCOT experiences when drinking around the world. Some of these “rites of passage” include getting a margarita from La Cava del Tequila in the Mexico Pavilion, trying a fancy drink like the Grand Marnier Orange Slush in the France Pavilion, and snagging a beer from the Rose & Crown Pub in the United Kingdom Pavilion. Rose & Crown But if you’ve got your heart set on a stop at Rose & Crown for a pint during your next trip to EPCOT, beware that your plans might need to shift a bit! Rose and Crown Pub and Dining Room During a recent visit to EPCOT, a Cast Member told us that Rose & Crown is currently unable to serve any draft beer or cider due to a new keg system that is being installed in the pub. They don’t yet know exactly when the new system will be up and running, but the Cast Member we spoke with said they expect it will be about 3 months until draft beers and ciders are back inside the pub. Imperial Pint Fortunately, there are several backup options for enjoying a drink in the UK Pavilion! For one, Rose & Crown has various canned beers and ciders available inside the pub, as well as cocktails. Iced Grey Lady Tea But if you’ve got your heart set on a draft beverage, you’re not totally out of luck. There currently is a draft beer stand set up in the United Kingdom Pavilion offering several iconic options, including Guinness, Smithwick’s, Harp Lager, and Strongbow Hard Cider. Draft Beer Stand in United Kingdom Pavilion The outdoor stand gives you the chance to grab a drink on draft, even if you can’t get one inside the pub for the next few months. It’s time! Yep, that’s right — we’re taking you BACK inside the brand-new Epic Universe theme park at Universal Orlando Resort. We had a preview of this park not too long ago, but now we’ve returned with a vengeance — and with photos! WE’RE HERE!!! We’re taking you INSIDE Universal’s brand-new theme park, Epic Universe. We’re stepping through the portals and daring to experience all that this epic park has to offer — and you won’t believe your eyes. The storyline of the land takes place between the first and second How To Train Your Dragon movies. Two 40-foot-tall Viking statues set the scene when you enter the land, and once you get inside, you’ll take in views of a sparkling lagoon and the Viking village. ©Universal Hiccup’s Wing Gliders is a family thrill coaster where you’ll join Hiccup to test out “his latest glider contraption” that he’s invented! Hiccup, you see, has created a way for riders to simulate what its like to fly on a dragon. His winged flying machine is designed to launch aspiring Dragon Riders into the air, complete with feeling of swooping and soaring through the air. The dilemma? Well… Toothless isn’t altogether thrilled with this new invention, which leads to a wild ride! The coaster reaches speeds of up to 45 miles per hour, taking visitors around the perimeter of the land and even across the lagoon. ©Universal Oh, boy… the Viking twins from How To Train Your Dragon, Ruffnut and Tuffnut, are in charge of Fyre Drill! Get ready to board a boat and take a trek down Berk’s Fyre Skööl, where the brother and sister have designed an interactive boat battle. ©Universal Get ready for THRILLS on Dragon Racer’s Rally! Here, YOU will be training to be a Champion Dragon Racer! You’ll get to “practice aerobatic maneuvers and high-speed barrel rolls on two Viking-made dragon-riding trainers that reach heights of up to 67 feet in the air.” Something good to know: YOU get to control how “wild or mild” your ride is, so it can be as exciting as you choose! ©Universal Welcome to Mead Hall! This is “where guests can feast like a Viking and enjoy a savory menu featuring a variety of meats, fish, sandwiches, and more along with a collection of meads and ciders.” Mead Hall is essentially Berk’s main gathering hall. ©Universal | Mead Hall Spit Fyre Grill will be housed near the Fyre Drill water attraction… and, in fact, it will overlook the attraction! This quick service spot will feature hearty flame-seared meals. Searching for grog and gruel ? Then for a quick bite, you can head to the racing-themed Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel food stand. It will be located near the Viking Training Camp. ©Universal Step inside the Haddock Paddock to meet Hiccup and the beloved Toothless! Universal also shared that you might encounter more characters throughout the land, including Vikings and dragons. ©Universal The Untrainable Dragon is a live show based on the Untrainable show in Universal Beijing Resort. The show “takes guests on an unforgettable journey with beloved characters Hiccup, Toothless, Gobber, and Astrid as they work together to solve the mystery of The Untrainable Dragon.” Music, impressive sets, and life-sized dragons will set the scene, while the storyline will combine “heart and humor.” ©Universal Viking Training Camp is an adventure play area where the “smaller Vikings” can play and explore. The area will feature a Viking agility course, a Toothless teeter-totter, baby Gronckle dragon climbers, and more! AND the kiddos can learn about all of the various classes of dragons in the process. Want to take home some souvenirs from your trip to the Viking village? Merchandise will be for sale at shops like Viking Traders, How to Treat Your Dragon, Hiccup’s Work Shop, and Toothless’ Treasures. Dark Universe Once visitors step through the Dark Universe portal, they’ll step into a place full of dark energy: the village of Darkmoor. Here, visitors will “encounter everything from the experiments of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein to the shadowy landscape where monsters roam in a world of myth and mystery.” And fans of Universal’s popular Halloween Horror Nights event may want to pay close attention… ©Universal Dark Universe’s signature attraction is Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. Located in the facade of Frankenstein Manor, this ride’s official synopsis from Universal reads, “Dr. Victoria Frankenstein continues the work of her ancestors deep below the family estate. A demonstration of her experiments to control monsters goes awry when Dracula leads a revolt of enraged monsters including The Wolf Man, The Mummy, the Creature from the Black Lagoon and more.” ©Universal The land’s second attraction is a spinning family coaster themed to The Wolf Man. According to the official synopsis of Curse of the Werewolf, guests will enter the Guild of Mystics and be “greeted by Maleva, the guild’s all-knowing seer and leader, who warns them that they bear the mark of the werewolf.” ©Universal Das Stakehaus is a quick-service restaurant within Dark Universe themed around an “old inn and dining hall built over the ruins of ancient catacombs.” The name is not only a play on the Eastern European setting of vampire lore, but a literal play on words — “stake” instead of “steak” as it relates to vampires is a funny double entendre! The restaurant will feature vampire artwork and artifacts and meals will be served by “familiars”, also known as vampire servants! ©Universal The Burning Blade Tavern is an additional quick-service restaurant that pays homage to the iconic windmill from Universal’s 1931 classic Frankenstein! The Burning Blade Tavern will allow diners to eat in an “old mill which Darkmoor Village’s monster hunters [The Hounds] have transformed into their hangout.” Instead of the monsters being portrayed as heroes like Das Stakehaus, this restaurant focuses on hunters who protect regular folk from these legendary beasts. Surrounded by trophy heads of conquered monsters, diners will be able to enjoy a menu of burgers, pretzels, wings, bratwurst, and specialty beverages while they listen to tales of victory from the hunters. ©Universal At De Lacey’s Cottage, you can find sweets and snacks including ice cream, cinnamon bread, twisted taters, and more. Located near Frankenstein Manor, this snack stand pays homage to where Frankenstein’s Monster received friendship and sustenance. ©Universal The land will present several meet and greets in the land, giving guests the opportunity to interact with characters including — but not limited to — Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s Monster and the “alluring” Bride of Frankenstein, Victoria Frankenstein’s servant, Ygor, and The Invisible Man, “an eccentric monster hunter and a talented musician who regales guests with songs and tales related to classic monster stories.” ©Universal Do you happen to have a little monster of your own? Or perhaps you’d like to channel your own inner monster? Dark Universe will also feature the new Monster Makeup Experience, where “monster makers have converted Dr. Pretorius’ infamous old lab into a parlor and skilled artisans use their talents to transform guests into a likeness of their favorite Universal Monsters.” ©Universal And, you can stock up on souvenirs to calm (or RELEASE) your inner monster at Pretorius’ Scientific Oddities! No matter where you’re headed on your vacation, it’s probably a good idea to check the U.S. State Department’s travel advisories. Storm view from aboard Disney Cruise Line These warnings let travelers know about any potentially dangerous destinations and what they should be on the lookout for should they choose to travel there. A Level 3 travel advisory has been in place for Jamaica for a while now, but that could change soon. On July 25th, 2024, the United States Department of State updated its travel advisory for Jamaica to Level 3: Reconsider Travel. These warnings were issued due to crime and poor health services, with the caveat that “tourist areas generally see lower rates of violent crime than other parts of the country.” Jamaica But, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in late March 2025 that the State Department will re-evaluate its travel warnings for Jamaica and other countries “to ensure they reflect real conditions on the ground,” per the Associated Press. During a tour of the Caribbean, Rubio heard Jamaican officials’ complaints about the warning for the country — which is heavily dependent on tourism. ©Disney Rubio also defended the Trump administration’s opposition to a government program from Cuba that sends physicians and other medical personnel to countries that need these workers, which would include Jamaica. Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness said his country had “benefitted greatly from the program” the Trump administration is claiming violates international labor standards and likens to human trafficking in some cases. Disney Magic Cruise Ship As far as the Jamaica travel advisory goes, Rubio did not promise it would be updated but said that revisions were possible in light of the government’s progress on crime reduction. “We pledged (that) we’re going to go back and reevaluate the travel advisories as they currently stand to ensure that they do reflect the reality of the new numbers and what the numbers show,” Rubio said, noting that Jamaica has “made very impressive progress in your general numbers overall when it comes to the murder rate and so forth.” Prime Minister Holness said, “We are committed to working collaboratively to ensure that travel advisories reflect the current realities and promote travel to Jamaica,” and added, “I’m confident that the dialogue initiated today will lead to tangible outcomes.” Disney Wish at Castaway Cay The Disney Cruise Line sails to Falmouth, Jamaica on 7-night Western Caribbean sailings that depart out of Port Canaveral. Typically, these ports and tourist destinations are safe — but it’s always a good idea to be on your toes when traveling to other countries no matter where they are! There are so many reasons to stay at a Disney World hotel on your next vacation. Disney’s Riviera Resort Staying on Disney property can get you things like free transportation to the parks, free parking at the parks, and Theme Park Early Entry. In 2025, you get free entry to Disney’s water parks on check in day. If water rides aren’t your thing, there are so many more reasons to use this perk. One of the best parts of this perk is that you do not need to be checked into your room for the perk to be recognized. So as soon as you arrive, you can head straight to the water parks. Disney just announced that beginning May 21st through September 7th, BOTH Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be available for guests. So, now that both will be open, you will have the opportunity to choose between one of the parks. Typhoon Lagoon If water rides aren’t a thing you want to do, that’s okay! There is still so much to do at these parks! You can honestly treat these parks like Disney Springs. There are a lot of food options at each park and you can find unique snacks here. Dole Whip Nacho Bowl You can also find some fun Disney characters here from time to time. Use this opportunity to snag a photo with some of your favorite pals. It’s Stitch! You can also get some shopping done. You can find merchandise that is unique to these parks so why not grab something? Take your time and enjoy looking at some new Disney items. Go Shopping! If water rides are for you, you can also look forward to plenty of that as well. Guests can also lounge by the pools and start off your vacation in a relaxing way. As part of our visit, we saw some stunning new wands, so now that we’re armed with new spellcasting locations and an exclusive first look, it’s time to show off the wands! Let’s go! Since The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened, picking out a wand has been part of the tradition, truly immersing you in the land. The wand! In the new land at Epic Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Ministry of Magic, you’ll be able to pick up a wand from Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique, the premier Parisian wand shop. A whole new collection of wands was released for this shop! Details At Cosme Acajor, they believe in a “unique approach to wand lore and Parisian couture influence come together to create not only a fine wand but a work of art.” Unlike Ollivanders, where the wand chooses the wizard, here, you search for a wand. Beautiful The wands will feature signature three-sided boxes that come with a map of the land so you can practice spell casting! Each wand comes with an insert with information about the wand, and the wand that we grabbed says… A look inside …”The graceful, almost whimsical sweep of this swirled vine baguette magique contrasts beautifully with its geometrically embellished, brass-coloured handle. What may seem to the untrained eye to be a paradox of design is, in fact, a brilliant nod to the remarkable vision beyond the ordinary with which such a wand’s owner is most certainly blessed. Universal Orlando is about to be even more epic! Universal Helios Grand Hotel On May 22nd, both Epic Universe and Universal Grand Helios Hotel are set to open! Grand Helios, Stella Nova, and Terra Luna are three of the new resorts built specifically for the Epic Universe expansion. Today, we got an exclusive sneak preview at two of the hotel rooms available to book at Helios Grand Hotel, and we are taking you along for a tour! Let’s go! Universal Helios Grand Hotel blends “immersion and relaxation” where you will get to “step into a sunlit sanctuary, where light, life and laughter abound.” Universal also describes Helios Grand as having “beautiful details of celestial patterns and constellations adorn the hotel with a casual, elegant Mediterranean-inspired feel throughout.” This hotel has 500 rooms, 35 suites, dining options, and entertainment. It even has its own dedicated entrance into Epic Universe! Talk about a SHOWSTOPPER! Let’s go inside a Standard Room! Let’s go! When you enter the room, you’re greeted by a full-length mirror. Did someone say fit check before running out to the parks?! Fit check time! There’s a closet complete with hangers, an iron and ironing board, and extra pillows, of course! Closet Standard Rooms have double queen beds and can accommodate up to five guests (with a rollaway bed). You can upgrade your room to have a Skyline view, Pool view, or even Epic Universe park view! Standard Room The blankets on the beds are velvet-y and a light pink/salmon color. So comfy The nightstand is equipped with plenty of chargers. Yes, it’s got USB-A and USB-C! Nightstand You also have room to store belongings inside or on top of this dresser, which is also where you’ll find the TV. Don’t forget the desk chair with… Standard Room …this funky lamp! Where can we order one of these for our home office? On the left-hand side, you’ll find a mini fridge to store any drinks or leftover food from the parks. Fridge You can make your own coffee in the room… Coffee …or fetch ice with this fancy golden ice bucket. Check out the Helios coasters, too! Ice Bucket and Glasses Before we get to the truly mind-blowing views, let’s check out the bathroom. Bathroom The toilet and shower are sectioned off with their own door so other people can get ready by the sink and mirror. The throne The shower has a sliding glass door with the shampoo, conditioner, and soap in bottles attached to the wall. Shower There is only one sink in this bathroom, however, there’s plenty of counter space on each side for your belongings. There’s always one person who needs to sprawl out all of their cosmetics! Only one sink The room is full of storage all over, and they didn’t leave out the bathroom! Storage space Drum roll please! It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for…and it’s even better than you could have imagined. Let’s get closer… Are you ready to peek?! Voila! How INCREDIBLE is this view?! From your HOTEL ROOM?! You can see everything going on in the park at all hours of the day! It doesn’t get any better than this. We have no words We are just speechless. But we do know we’re ruined and can only book rooms here with the Epic Universe view from now on. We are one step closer to the official opening of Universal’s newest theme park, Epic Universe! Welcome to the Universal Helios Grand Hotel This project is almost complete, as the park is set to open on May 22nd, 2025. So far, two of the three hotels that are part of this expansion have already opened. Sister hotels Stella Nova and Terra Luna are available for stays NOW. The last of these three hotels, Universal Helios Grand Hotel, opens on the same day as Epic Universe, but today we got an exclusive early look at this stunning resort! Universal describes Helios Grand Hotel as “your place in the sun.” When you step into the lobby, you will “step into a sunlit sanctuary, where light, life and laughter abound. Rising above the waters of Celestial Park at Universal Epic Universe, Universal Helios Grand Hotel is a majestic escape where relaxation comes naturally. We can’t wait to go inside! Atmosphere As previously mentioned, this hotel has a Mediterranean-inspired feel throughout the resort. The goal is to transport you to a fantastical world within the palace of Helios, the Greek god of the sun. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning views of Celestial Park. Look at that VIEW! The first thing we have to say about this space is “WOW.” Talk about a SHOWSTOPPER! The seating throughout the lobby is bright and modern, and even the dramatic lighting provides a “wow” moment. Universal stated that this location is open Sunday through Thursday from 4 PM to 12 AM (hello, late-night drink!), and on Friday and Saturday, the hours are 4PM to 1 AM. Unexpected things happen in Disneyland all the time. Disneyland Sometimes, it’s something smaller, like a ride unexpectedly closing for several hours, but other times, significant things happen that can be scary. It’s just been reported that today, April 4th, a fire broke out in a Disneyland parking structure. KTLA 5 reported that a fire inside Disneyland’s Pixar Pals parking structure was reported to authorities around 9:47 AM PT on April 4th. The blaze was initially confined to a Toyota RAV4; however, it spread to other vehicles before being extinguished. ©KTLA 5 A video, seen below, was taken of the fire from outside the parking structure. Black smoke was seen pouring out of the sides of the structure before the fire was put out. At this time, it’s not clear what caused the fire, but no injuries were reported. The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is a splurge-worthy restaurant in Disney World. That place is capital “F” FANCY. We’ll be the first to admit that for that high price, you do get some pretty spectacular menu items and a fantastic experience. The Cake Bake Shop We keep an eye on the menu to see when any new items debut, and our mouths immediately started watering when we learned that there was a new ice cream sundae available ONLY at the restaurant. Do you know what we did? That’s right, we immediately booked a reservation to tell you if this sundae is really worth the visit, and you may be surprised by what we found! The new Millionaire Sundae is actually two prices. You can spend $74.99 if you want the fancy porcelain Swan Boat souvenir. But don’t worry — the $75 swan is optional. If you’re just in it for the sweets, you can get the sundae for $16.99 sans swan. Do we think that’s a cute idea? For sure, but to us, we can’t spend that kind of money for ice cream in a fancy bowl. But a $17 sundae at this fancy of a restaurant? We can get behind that! Millionaire Sundae Behold! The Millionaire Sundae! It’s made with a gluten-free brownie, chocolate sauce, caramel drizzle, homemade ice cream of your choice, whipped cream, and shortbread cookie pieces. Sounds amazing, right? Well, good news: this sundae was DELICIOUS! It’s practically swimming in Ghirardelli chocolate drizzle, and you’ve got the choice of vanilla or chocolate ice cream, as well as a choice between a gluten-free or walnut brownie. We chose vanilla ice cream and the walnut brownie, and with the caramel sauce and the shortbread cookie pieces crumbled in, it really does taste just like the Millionaire Cake or Millionaire Bar in the best way. HEAVEN! Look at that brownie! It’s incredibly rich and decadent, which works very well for this treat. The vanilla ice cream tasted like true, genuine vanilla (not that bland stuff) and gave us a sweet note on the backend of a rich, chocolate-forward treat. We LOVED this ice cream We think this is a great alternative for people not looking to spend $22 on a cake slice because this serving is indeed shareable, and we feel it’s a better deal. If you’re looking to save some money but want to try one of the desserts at this location, we think this is a great choice, however it’s important to note that at this time it’s NOT available at the bakery, only in the restaurant! Disney World and Universal Orlando aren’t the only theme parks in the Orlando area. ©LEGOLAND Another popular theme park destination in the area is LEGOLAND Florida, which is dedicated to all things LEGO. LEGOLAND has both a theme park and a water park, as well as the world’s first Peppa Pig theme park. LEGOLAND also has three themed hotels and employs around 1,600 people. However, the company recently revealed it was laying off 200 of its employees. Now, according to The Orlando Business Journal, employees associated with LEGOLAND’s parent company, Merlin Magic Making, are being let go. Merlin Magic Making is the creative division Merlin Entertainments, which is the owner of both LEGOLAND Florida and The Orlando Eye at Icon Park, as well as other themed attractions. The company recently announced it would be laying off 31 employees. The layoffs are expected to begin on May 31st and could continue through June 13th. ©Legoland Merlin Magic Making is in charge of creating immersive experiences and themed entertainment for theme parks and museums. In February, a new CEO, Fiona Eastwood, was appointed to the company. In March, the company announced it had plans to restructure and merge three of its divisions into one. These layoffs could be part of those plans. ©LEGOLAND In 2024, Merlin reported a 3.2% decline in total revenue, blaming weather conditions and a weaker market. In 2024, profits fell by 15.1% total. However, the company recently announced that it’s bringing a new “groundbreaking” indoor roller coaster to both LEGOLAND Florida and LEGOLAND California. Uh, yeah, we can’t believe we’re saying this either, but please don’t do this at Disney World. Magic Kingdom This trend might be on the rise, but we’re asking you to keep this habit at home and not take it to the parks. Fart walks are increasing in popularity on social media and they’re the idea of relieving gas and bloating after dinner. Sounds great in theory, right? EPCOT crowds This might be a great routine at home, and it has been known to improve health benefits, but maybe it is best to keep it at home and not in a crowded space. Disney World can be a crowded place! We know it’s tempting to eat at Casey’s Corner, get your favorite corndog nuggets, and then hop in line at Pirates of the Caribbean before starting your “fart walk” but please don’t. Queues are already small spaces that a lot of people struggle with, and adding some unnecessary smells is not for the weak. Pirates There are lots of walking trails around Disney World, specifically at the resorts, and you may find this type of walk best for those late-night walks to your hotel room, where no one else can be seen. Great places to walk! Maybe switch your fart walk for a Hot Girl Walk which is simply a walk around with your water and headphones. Our favorite strolls are around the World Showcase at EPCOT or on the animal trails in Animal Kingdom. It’s a great time to be a Disneyland fan! The 70th Anniversary Celebration is getting ready to kick off, which means a ton of new eats, entertainment, souvenirs, and a whole lot more. Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland No matter when you’re planning on visiting the OG Disney park, being a Magic Key passholder can help you save a buck or two on your visits. But, if you were interested in purchasing a new Magic Key pass — you might be out of luck. Disneyland Magic Key passes went on sale again in January 2025, giving fans the opportunity to keep coming back again and again — but, if you were hoping to purchase a new pass, you’re out of luck. As of April 4th, all new Magic Key pass sales have been paused. ©Disney Luckily, if you’re already a Magic Key passholder, you can go ahead and still renew your pass once it becomes available for renewal. As of now, Disney has not announced when the passes might go back on sale, but they have said in the past that sales will resume at a later date. We’re about to say something controversial. We know how people feel about Lightning Lanes (Disney’s skip-the-line option for popular attractions). We know the standby lines are long. We know it stinks to pay to skip the lines when the same option was previously free (ah…the good old days). But there is one place where we stand in some LONG lines…and we could really use a Lightning Lane. What if our Lightning Lane Multi Pass came with the ability to jump to the front of SNACK lines? Hear us out. EPCOT Listen, we know what you might be thinking. “Is nothing safe from an upcharge in Disney World?!” True. Pretty much all those free perks of the past are, well, not free anymore. But Test Track is currently closed in EPCOT, and that’s one less place we can use our Lightning Lane in EPCOT. And those Multi Passes aren’t cheap! So, what if Disney started adding a skip-the-line option to its popular Festival Food Booths? Let’s talk about what that could look like. For the record, we are purely daydreaming here. Disney has no plans to add Lightning Lanes to its food booths, and that’s probably for the best. After all, we’re still on team *Let’s Keep Things FREE* at the end of the day. But, for the sake of brainstorming, let’s talk about what it could look like if we could jump to the front of one of the longest lines in EPCOT’s World Showcase. Lines can get long on weekends EPCOT hosts four seasonal festivals throughout the year. There’s the EPCOT Festival of the Arts, followed by the Flower and Garden Festival, followed by the (very popular) Food and Wine Festival, concluding with the Festival of the Holidays. Each festival comes with its own set of food booths and unique seasonal menu items, but some food booths are known for serving great snacks at pretty much every festival. The Mexico Booth almost never lets us down There is one booth, though, where you’ll find a LONG line regardless of the ongoing festival. We’re talking about the France Booth. Look at all this FOOD! Maybe it’s the prominent location. Maybe it’s the memorable set of rotating menus. Maybe it’s the hype from Disney fans. Who knows! Either way, the France Booth attracts long lines, making it a whole long process just to order your food. Our best advice? Avoid a trip to EPCOT on the weekend — the park is especially crowded on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night! BEWARE the lines! So, what if Disney let us use our EPCOT Lightning Lane Multi Pass at the France Booth? Is it possible? It would be a nice perk for Lightning Lane users, right? Imagine an express pass to all this FOOD! Well, for starters, there’s one BIG reason this wouldn’t work: logistics. EPCOT’s Festival Cast Members are part of a whole different department — they don’t have the proper training to even allow people to scan their park tickets! See how there’s a Cast Member stationed at the Lightning Lane entrance here? Food and Beverage Cast Members don’t have the training for such a task! Haunted Mansion Lightning Lane Plus, given the limited space in the France Pavilion, adding a dedicated Lightning Lane entrance would be tricky. The line is tight enough as is — can you imagine cramming a SECOND line back there? 2024 Booth It would be a bit of a logistical nightmare. Would it be a nice added luxury for Lightning Lane users? Yes! But, in practice, would this work? Probably not. Oh well! We can daydream — it gives us something to do while we’re stuck in line, right? 2022 Festival of the Arts Crowds So, what do you think? Gideon’s Bakehouse is one of our favorite places to get a sweet treat in Disney Springs! Gideon’s Bakehouse There’s no April fools joke here; Gideon’s Bakehouse is bringing us a brand-new treat, and it looks DELICIOUS! Gideon’s Bakehouse is known as an extremely popular spot for people visiting Disney Springs! If you choose to go, be prepared to wait in a long line (yes, it’s that popular)! The bakery serves massive, nearly 1/2 pound cookies and big cake slices. They also sell cold brews and other treats. Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs The bakehouse is known for its iconic treats, and it constantly has new flavors in rotation. Every month, Gideon’s offers new flavors, and they just revealed April’s limited-edition Carrot Cake Cookie — and it looks good! @gideonsbakehouse Like all their cookies, the Carrot Cake Cookie is almost half a pound. The cookie is mixed with popular flavors, as it is created with a blend of spices, molasses, and finely chopped carrots! It’s covered in house-made candied pecans and has a carrot cream cheese glaze on top. The cookie will be available every day of April! Be aware that you can only purchase two per person while supplies last. Virtual queue line We have a fan-favorite treat returning in April as well! The Pineapple Dream Cake is back, everyone! It’s a vanilla cake smothered in pineapple buttercream, with layers of pineapple jam, pineapple caramel, and brown butter crumbs. Slices will be available for purchase only on Wednesdays and Saturdays. You can also purchase a whole cake, which is only available for pre-order at the Ease End location. @gideonsbakehouse Another brand-new item, the Coconut Cream Nitro Cold Brew, sounds delightful! It’s a coconut cream cold brew that uses real coconut cream! It will be available every day of April, and can only be purchased at Disney Springs⁣. Gideon’s is known for featuring a special character on their menu every month. They gave us a look at the special character for April, Olivia and Bun! You might want to rethink that cruise — yet another norovirus outbreak has hit a cruise ship. ©Cunard More than 240 people on board the luxury Cunard Queen Mary 2 have fallen ill with the highly contagious stomach bug, CNN has reported. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported the outbreak as the Queen Mary 2 was toward the end of a four-week-long return trip from the UK to the Caribbean. The ship regularly makes transatlantic crossings “designed to hark back to the golden age of luxury ocean liners.” ©Cunard This sailing departed from Southampton on March 8th and is scheduled to return on April 6th. A total of 224 of 2,538 passengers and 17 of 1,232 crew members have become sick with norovirus, per the latest CDC data. The CDC’s Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) keeps track of outbreaks at sea and confirmed it is “remotely monitoring the situation, including review of the ship’s outbreak response and sanitation procedures.” ©Cunard Cunard — which is owned by Carnival Corporation — said that they are “continuing to closely monitor” passengers with gastrointestinal symptoms and highlighted the “comprehensive deep clean of the ship.” The cruise line noted its activation of health and safety protocols has caused “a reduction in reported cases.” Back in December, more than 300 people contracted the virus on three different vessels. Those who got sick back then were on Princess Cruises’ Ruby Princess on a trip around Hawaii, as well as Holland America’s Rotterdam and Zuiderdam cruises. ©Holland America In 2025, seven cruise ships sailing out of the U.S. have reported outbreaks of illness to the CDC so far. Royal Caribbean reported the spread of a “gastrointestinal illness” onboard the Radiance of the Seas, which sailed out of Tampa. ©Holland America “Norovirus can be especially challenging to control on cruise ships because of the close living quarters, shared dining areas and rapid turnover of passengers,” the CDC website states. “When the ship docks, norovirus can be brought on board in contaminated food or water; or by passengers who were infected while ashore.” With norovirus being so contagious, you might want to know what to do to protect yourself on a cruise. One easy preventative measure is to wash your hands often, including after using the toilet and changing diapers, before eating or handling food, and before giving yourself or someone else any medication. One thing you’ll need to note is that hand sanitizer does not do a great job of preventing norovirus, so you’ll want to use soap and water when you can. ©Royal Caribbean We’ll continue to keep an eye on these norovirus outbreaks and let you know of any other potential cases that could impact your next vacation. If you’re staying at a resort at Walt Disney World, Disney just announced an extra treat you’ll be getting! Stitch at Tomorrowland Disney World hotel guests are going to LOVE this! It’s finally official, during Early Entry you’ll be able to meet some of your favorite Disney characters EARLIER than you ever have! If you aren’t aware of how Disney’s Early Entry works, you get to enter each Disney World park 30 minutes before opening. At the Magic Kingdom, only Tomorrowland and Fantasyland open their attractions early (whereas all the other lands are closed till the parks opening). The other exception is that TRON Lightcycle / Run still remains closed, however changes were made that now allow you to lineup, even if doesn’t open for another half hour! TRON Lightcycle / Run opens at 9 AM Now there’s another change coming to Early Entry (all these Early Entry changes)! Disney just announced that this summer, a few beloved characters will begin their meet and greets inside the parks DURING the 30 minute Early Entry period. No more waiting till the opening time! That means shorter wait times and getting more in during your Disney day! Mickey! We know that characters during Early Entry are confirmed, however we aren’t totally sure on which characters will be coming out to meet guests. Disney also announced that character appearances should begin around May 27th! This is a great change to the Early Entry! It gives guests even more incentive to either stay at a select Disney resort, or get up early and make the most of their day. Sometimes the waits to meet characters are brutal, so now you can check that off the to-do list early on. And honestly, what better way to start your Disney day than hanging with a Disney character?! On Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, President Trump announced sweeping tariffs on imported goods in a move he claims will revive manufacturing and generate revenue in the U.S., according to the New York Times. Cinderella Castle The tariffs include a 10 percent rate on all countries except Canada and Mexico, and double-digit rates on countries the Trump administration says had “treated the United States unfairly.” Reports indicate most Americans will start noticing the impact at the grocery store first — but tariffs could potentially impact Disney World prices, too. As a refresher, a tariff is a government surcharge on products imported from other countries, and they’re paid by the companies that import goods into a country. The costs of these tariffs can be passed around depending on how countries and companies react, but the New York Times says that trade policy experts agree that “American consumers will most likely bear the cost of the new U.S. tariffs,” notably, as they did during Trump’s first term. Mickey and pals To offset the costs of these tariffs, retailers often increase prices — and manufacturers face higher costs. Food analyst experts have said that most Americans are likely to feel the impact of these tariffs at grocery stores first — and soon, potentially before April is over. But, it’s not just the grocery store as restaurants and other food vendors will likely have to increase prices to offset the import costs as well. Coffee could go up Bananas from Guatemala, grapes from Peru, and shrimp from Vietnam are all expected to suffer from price hikes, along with staples like sugar and coffee (which are already at a historically high price). The wine world also stands to be greatly impacted by the tariffs. And, Disney World likely isn’t immune from these price hikes either. Full Spread In addition to potential price increases on Disney World food, we could see increases on souvenirs — especially those manufactured in countries like China. Under the new tariffs, China will have a 34 percent tariff on top of a previous blanket import tax that was imposed on goods from the country earlier this year. Imports from Vietnam are to be taxed at an additional 50 percent. Disney merch As of now, Disney has not made any comments or announcements about price hikes due to these tariffs, but we could see small price increases here and there to make up for the additional costs. It’s no secret we love a good Food and Wine Festival at Disney World! Swan and Dolphin Hotel Most people’s minds might go to EPCOT when it comes to festivals in Disney, but they should be thinking of the Swan and Dolphin Resort! This Disney World hotel hosts one of our favorite events in Orlando, and luckily for us, it’s back in 2025! Plus, we finally have new details here! The Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic is back in 2025, and we are already making our lists for what snacks we’ll be trying and drinks we’ll be sipping on. This weekend event has been a favorite of ours for years, so when we found out that tickets are on sale for 2025, we jumped out of our seats! The 2024 Food and Wine Classic! This year’s event is on November 14th and November 15th, 2025, at the Disney World Resort from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM! The event does require tickets for the all-you-can-eat dining and drinking evening. Tickets and seminars are finally on sale, but it’s going to cost you. A full spread from the Food and Wine Classic! If you’re attending both nights of the event, you can get a ticket bundle that will save you 10%, totaling out to $403. If you can only attend one night of the event, tickets will cost you $205 for each night. While it might seem pricey, there’s a reason we love this event! Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic The food quality is amazing, there is awesome live entertainment, and you can try so many wines and beverages throughout the evening. We are eagerly awaiting the menus for the 2025 Classic, but while we wait, you can see last year’s menu to see if this event seems right for you. Creamy Chipotle Mac and Cheese We can’t wait for this event to return, especially because the Swan and Dolphin is busy working on several upgrades throughout the resorts. The hotel is expanding its conference area, adding a new restaurant with a bowling alley, and even adding brand-new rooms! The classic! Something big is getting ready to happen over in Disneyland. No, we’re not talking about Season of the Force (which is happening soon, too). We’re talking about another big celebration that’s getting ready to kick off at the resort — Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration. 70th Anniversary display Yes, Disneyland is turning 70 years old (seriously, it doesn’t look a day over 20, though), and Disney has planned a BIG party that will include special entertainment, food, and, yes, special merchandise. We’ve previously seen a few things from the 70th-anniversary collection, but Disney just dropped a new look at some of the exclusive souvenirs coming soon, and we’re sharing it with you!
