  1. Okay, fellow Star Wars fans (or those who are wanting to get into Star Wars). How about a fun challenge? ©Disney I’ve already admitted to being a big nerd, so it should probably not come as a surprise that I’m also into Star Wars. I pretty much love all Star Wars (and that even includes some of the books Disney has released), although I came into my fandom via the prequels (I know, I know, but they’re way better than ANYONE ever gave them credit for). So I sort of inadvertently started my journey as a Star Wars fan by watching the movies in chronological order, but if you’re looking to watch ALL the Star Wars movies and TV shows in chronological order, I’m going to help you out. So will you accept this challenge? Trust me, it’s easier than making the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs. So here’s a rundown of the order you need to watch ever Star Wars movie and TV show. Let’s go! BBY and ABY First, we’ll need to explain how the galaxy far, far away views time. Like we have BC and AD, the universe that Star Wars is set in has BBY and ABY. BBY is Before the Battle of Yavin, which happened at the end of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. ©Disney BBY refers to After the Battle of Yavin, so it’s everything that happened after Episode IV. Got it? Okay, moving on… Dawn of the Jedi So we’re going to start with a Star Wars movie that was announced, but that we haven’t received a lot of details on yet. That’s the James Mangold-directed Dawn of the Jedi movie that is set to take place in 25,000 BBY. The movie will reportedly reveal the history of the Jedi Order and the origin story of the Force. YES! BBY refers to After the Battle of Yavin, so it’s everything that happened after Episode IV. Got it? Okay, moving on… ©Disney This would provide a brand new story in a completely new setting and timeline that we haven’t yet seen in Star Wars. I don’t know about you, but I can’t WAIT to find out more about this movie. Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures Okay, so there are two eras we need to talk about. There’s the Old Republic era, which happens around 4,000 BBY — so far, we haven’t seen any TV shows or movies dedicated to this era (although there have been a few video games set in that time). Then there’s the High Republic Era, which is when Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures occurs (232 BBY). This animated show might be mostly targeted to kids, but it’s a great introduction to the High Republic Era. Plus, who can resist Nubs? This young Jedi EXISTS to sell us all adorable cute and fuzzy merchandise. Nubs backpack The series follows the adventures of Jedi younglings who are starting to go out on their own to explore the world and learn valuable lessons about the Force and themselves. This show also features a younger Yoda, so what’s not to love? The Acolyte Love it or hate, The Acolyte still exists in the Star Wars timeline. Honestly, I don’t think this show was even given a fair shot, and it was far better than its critics would have you believe. The Acolyte takes place in 132 BBY, which is also the High Republic era, and I’m still disappointed we won’t get to see more. ©Disney One thing this show managed well was showing how the Jedi can be just as flawed and judgmental as their Sith counterparts. It also gave us The Good Place’s Manny Jacinto as a Sith, and that alone makes it worth watching. Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace Although controversial at its time, the Star Wars prequel trilogy has become hugely popular. In The Phantom Menace, we’re introduced to a very young Obi-Wan Kenobi training under Master Qui Gon while the two discover a boy strong in the Force named Anakin Skywalker (yes, the future Darth Vader). Plus it’s the movie that introduces Jar Jar Binks. I’m also pretty sure Lucasfilm blew its entire budget on Princess Amidala’s elaborate costumes. ©Disney Episode 1 is set in 32 BBY, putting it much closer to the Battle of Yavin (because it is part of a prequel series that came before the original series). Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones In Episode 2, Amidala is now a Senator (that’s how things work on Naboo — you’re royalty for only a limited amount of time then you’re forced to get a day job). Anakin is all grown up, and well, let’s just say Amidala has noticed. The movie, which takes place in 22 BBY introduces us to The Clone Wars for the first time plus it’s got that whole romance story on the side (even if it’s not a well-written one). ©Disney So in 10 years time, Anakin grows up, becomes hot, and starts feeling frustrated by the limitations the Jedi Order is putting on him. He defies Jedi tradition and ends up marrying Padme at the end of the movie (yeah, this won’t end well). Anakin also loses an arm. Ouch. Star Wars: The Clone Wars Okay, it’s time for an animated interlude, because the story of The Clone Wars is told much better in the The Clone Wars animated series. It takes place from 22-19 BBY, before Anakin and Padme say “I do.” This is where we first meet Ahsoka, a promising Jedi padawan, who ultimately gets betrayed by the order (yes, I’m still salty about how they treated her). This is where you’ll discover why Ahsoka later says, “I am no Jedi.” ©Disney The final season of The Clone Wars overlaps events that take place during the third prequel movie, including Order 66, which was the order that was given to the clones to eradicate the Jedi Order just before the Empire takes power over the galaxy. Spoiler alert: Ahsoka lives (she kinda’ had to because she has her own series now). Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith In 19 BBY, Anakin begins falling to the Dark Side, mostly due to the fear of losing Padme that has taken over his heart, but also due to the manipulations of Palpatine, the soon-to-be Emperor. This is the official origin story of Darth Vader, but it’s also the birth story of Luke and Leia. ©Disney Of the prequels, this is my favorite. Dark Side Anakin is way more interesting than awkward teenager-in-love Anakin. Also, the scene between Obi-Wan and him on Mustafar is utterly heartbreaking. YOU WERE MY BROTHER, ANAKIN. The Bad Batch Okay, so the next few projects happen around the same time. The Bad Batch starts around 19 BBY and introduces us to some Clone Troopers were were outcasts and who refer to themselves as The Bad Batch. They band together with another clone, a young female clone by the name of Omega, to fight the Empire. ©Disney The Bad Batch also offers a good perspective of how the Empire slowly begins taking hold of the galaxy and what that means for each planet. No spoilers, but don’t get too attached to these clones because THIS SHOW WILL BREAK YOUR HEART. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Okay, I lied, but I feel like we need to throw in the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game here, too, which is set around the same time in 14 BBY. This is after Order 66 has been executed and those remaining Jedi who were lucky to survive it are on the run, including Cal Kestis. ©Disney I feel like Cal is an important figure in Star Wars lore, and it’s worth it to play the game to get some more details about what life was like after order 66. Also, I’m 99.9 percent sure Cal will end up in a live-action project at some point. I am ALL up for seeing Cameron Monaghan reprise his role as Cal in a live-action movie or TV show. Solo: A Star Wars Story Han Solo wasn’t always the Han Solo we know and love from the original trilogy. He was a bit of a miscreant as a younger man, and this movie, which takes place around 13-10 BBY is his origin story. The movie even shows how Han gets his hands on the Millennium Falcon AND how he and Chewbacca first meet. ©Disney This one is a MUST if you’re going into the original trilogy because you get a good look into who Han was BEFORE he fell for a princess from Alderaan. It also explains a lot about his character and the decisions he makes in future movies. Star Wars: Jedi Survivor Just a quick mention of the second Cal Kestis video game, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, which takes place in 9 BBY. Cal returns for another adventure in this video game, which I have to admit, I haven’t played yet (hey, I’ve been busy). But again, I feel like Cal is going to be a huge figure in the future, so I’m including it here. ©Disney Or maybe I’m just trying to manifest a live-action Cal Kestis. Whatever it takes. Disney, are you paying attention? Also, I have to mention that those adorable BD droids that are often found wandering around Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge are the same model as the droid that’s Cal’s BFF. Obi-Wan Kenobi After the “incident” with that whole Anakin-turning-into-Darth-Vader mess, Obi-Wan Kenobi gives up and becomes a hermit, but he comes out of hiding in 9 BBY for his own series, Obi-Wan-Kenobi. Poor Obi-Wan has to come face-to-face with his old friend, Anakin who is now Darth Vader. But more importantly, he also gets to spend some time with a very sassy young Princess Leia. ©Disney Obi-Wan’s story in this series leads directly into where we find him (hiding out in a cave) in the first movie of the original trilogy. Star Wars Rebels Okay, we are now at what is my all-time favorite animated Star Wars series and maybe my all-time favorite Star Wars thing ever. That is Star Wars Rebels, which takes place around 5 BBY. The Jedi Order is gone, the Rebellion is beginning to build itself, and a misfit crew has banded together to become one of the key players in that Rebellion. ©Disney Pay attention, though, because these characters are also SUPER-important to the Ahsoka series and if you haven’t watched this first, you might be confused. Also, it has one of my favorite Star Wars characters EVER in it, Hera Syndulla (and yes, I even paint myself green and cosplay her). I will also argue that she’s the best pilot in all of Star Wars. Andor The Andor series takes place just a few years later, in 9BBY, before the events in the first movie of the original trilogy and right before Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. We learn how Cassian Andor becomes a member of the Rebellion and learn about how the Rebellion is organized and how it gained strength. ©Disney We also get to see some FABULOUS costumes on Mon Mothma, and honestly, that’s really why I watch this show (just kidding — the storytelling of Andor is top-notch). Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Rogue One introduces us to my OTHER favorite character in Star Wars, Jyn Erso (yep, I cosplay her, too). Rogue One is set in 0 BBY and is actually directly leading up to the Battle of Yavin. This movie explains how the Rebellion ended up with the Death Star plans that help them destroy the Death Star in Episode 1. ©Disney You’ll also find Cassian Andor in this movie (which is when the character was actually introduced). If you’ve managed to read this far, we’re in the home stretch now…well…kinda’. Star Wars Episode 1: A New Hope Episode 1 is the movie that started it all when it was released way back in 1977. But in the chronological timeline, it’s set in 0 BBY, so it actually takes place later than MOST other Star Wars TV shows and movies. This is the movie that introduces all the classic Star Wars characters we know and love like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Chewbacca. ©Disney The movie ends with the Rebellion defeating the Empire at the Battle of Yavin, so we’re moving into a whole new time period going forward. We can now say goodbye to BBY and hello to ABY! Star Wars Episode 2: The Empire Strikes Back However, the Empire wasn’t going to go down so easily, so in The Empire Strikes Back, the Empire…well, it strikes back. This movie takes place a few years after the Battle of Yavin in 3 BBY when Luke is trying to learn more about mastering the Force from the wacky Master Yoda (seriously, Yoda is UNHINGED in this movie). ©Disney Luke, however, abandons his training to go save his friends because Han, Leia, and Chewbacca just can’t stay out of trouble. Also, Han gets himself frozen in carbonite and then is kinda’ a jerk to Leia when she admits that she loves him (um… “I know?” REALLY, DUDE?). Honestly, this is my least fave movie of the original trilogy, but I still love it because Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian is even if he does betray Han. Also, Luke learns that Darth Vader is his daddy and that’s a moment that lives on in many Star Wars fans’ memories. Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi All good things must come to an end, and so, too, did what many thought was the last Star Wars project ever, Episode 6. This could be my favorite movie of the original trilogy, but mostly because I remember being young and thinking the Ewoks were sweet and adorable (before realizing they have a dark side). This movie takes place just a year later in 4 BBY. ©Disney There’s a huge battle, the FINAL battle (or so we thought), and the Empire is ultimately defeated. But as future films have shown, evil always seems to want to hang around even after getting blown out of the sky. Shortly after this movie, Han and Leia get married on Endor (for those events, you’ll have to read the book Star Wars: The Princess and the Scoundrel, which also introduces the Halcyon Starcruiser). The Mandalorian The chronological timeline gets a little muddled between the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy, so seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian are next because they take place in 9BBY. So if you’re watching chronologically, coo and “awww” over little Grogu and then head on into The Book of Boba Fett. ©Disney Yes, this is the series that gave us ANOTHER character that we’re pretty sure was created to sell tons of merchandise. And you know what? It worked (staring at my Grogu Loungefly RIGHT NOW). You got me, Disney. You got me. I swear if anything happens to that little Baby Yoda, I will throw hands! The Book of Boba Fett In the middle of The Mandalorian, we got The Book of Boba Fett, which told the story of how Boba Fett escaped the jaws of a Sarlaac and survived to become a big pain for Jabba the Hutt. So part of The Book of Boba Fett happens BEFORE The Mandalorian, while the rest happens after The Mandalorian season 2, so the show covers 9-11 ABY. Like I said it gets confusing. ©Disney Even more confusing is that you’ll want to watch this BEFORE season 3 of The Mandalorian because the end of The Book of Boba Fett leads into season 3 of that show. Have fun figuring all that out! The Skeleton Crew Disney recently revealed that the upcoming The Skeleton Crew takes place around 9 BBY, which means it’s happening about the same time as all these other shows because why not? So the Empire has been defeated, and four kids are busy discovering something that gets them lost in a “strange and dangerous galaxy.” ©Disney During their adventures, they’ll be trying to find their way home and meeting allies and enemies along the way. Ahsoka Season 3 of The Mandalorian sets up the first season of the live-action Ahsoka — yep, the same character we first met way back in The Clone Wars. And honestly, Ahsoka’s first season, which happens in 11 ABY, is a live-action continuation of The Clone Wars because Ahsoka is looking for Ezra, who (SPOILER ALERT) goes missing at the end of The Clone Wars. ©Disney She finds him, alright, along with a certain blue-skinned ex-Empire baddie named Thrawn who is just itching to start trouble for the galaxy all over again. Season 2 of Ahsoka is on the way! Star Wars Resistance So Star Wars Resistance is a show that not a lot of folks seem to know about, but it was an animated series that took place in 34-35 ABY and took place just before Episode 7. This show basically set up the setting of what was happening before we met Rey, Finn, Poe, and the rest of the sequel trilogy crew, and even introduced Captain Phasma and BB-8 with several mentions of Poe Dameron. ©Disney So at this point, the First Order has become the new Empire, and a new rebellion known as the Resistance is beginning to form and take on the bad guys…again. Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens In Episode 7, we see events that happen in 34 ABY. The First Order is now in power, the Jedi are mostly gone) and a young woman who can use the Force gets thrown into the middle of the Resistance because they decided to land on the planet she lives on. ©Disney There are adventures, reunions (Han and Leia’s is particularly touching), a sniveling Sith named Kylo Ren (you know, that guy that sometimes works in the Rise of the Resistance ride), and it all sets up a new sequel trilogy that echoes themes from the original trilogy. Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi The Last Jedi was particularly controversial when it came out, for no good reason, but in my opinion, it’s a solid film because it takes Star Wars in some new directions. However, it lands at around 34 ABY in the timeline as we follow Rey beginning to train as a Jedi under none other than Luke Skywalker. ©Disney There’s also a side quest at a casino and some misdirection about how important that side quest is, but overall, the events in this movie still set up the final chapter of the Skywalker saga. Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker The Rise of Skywalker happens shortly after the events of Episode 8, around 35 BBY. We find out that Emperor Palpatine is still SOMEHOW still around (oddly revealed in the opening credits) and that maybe Kylo Ren isn’t ALL bad (let’s face it — part of the story of Star Wars is about redemption). ©Disney At the end of the movie, the Skywalker saga has officially ended, although Rey declares herself as a Skywalker at the end. This movie also has one of the saddest moments in all of Star Wars history, as the characters must say goodbye to Princess Leia after the death of her actress, Carrie Fisher. Pack the tissues for that scene. Untitled Movie But wait! The Skywalker saga continues with Rey Skywalker in a new untitled movie that takes place after the sequels. We don’t have a lot of details about this film yet, but it falls last in the timeline, which means we’re all caught up on the chronology (until Disney throws more Star Wars at us). ©Disney Actress Daisy Ridley is set to return as Rey, with Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy directing. The film is reportedly about the “New Jedi Order” whatever that turns out to be. So the Skywalkers live on through Rey. If you’ve made it this far, CONGRATULATIONS! You now understand how all the Star Wars movies and TV shows fit in with each other. Yes, watching ALL of it is a BIG commitment, but well worth it to relive the stories we all love so much all over again, right? It’s the journey, my fellow Star Wars friends, not the destination. To sum up, I’ll quote Yoda: “On many long journeys have I gone. And waited, too, for others to return from journeys of their own. Some return; some are broken; some come back so different only their names remain.” Stay tuned to DFB for more. 9 Loungefly Bags You’ll LOVE if Your Favorite Disney Ride Is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 2. In honor of National Veterans and Military Families Appreciation Month, Disney Cruise Line recently recognized a brave hero and U.S. Marine Corps Veteran with the surprise of a lifetime while he enjoyed a day at the Disneyland Resort with his family: an upcoming vacation sailing on the new Disney Treasure! Southern California veteran David Negreros was nominated to receive a trip to the Disneyland Resort by Goodwill of Orange County’s Tierney Center for Veteran Services, in recognition of his dedication and selflessness while serving in the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton and in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. While visiting Disneyland park, David and his family enjoyed a ride on Haunted Mansion (which is currently decked out as the Haunted Mansion Holiday inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas”!) where they were then surprised with the news they would soon be sailing onboard the highly anticipated Disney Treasure, Disney Cruise Line’s new ship setting sail this December! David and his family are sure to feel right at home onboard the ship, as the Disney Treasure brings stories from Disney Parks to life at sea for the first time. They will be among the first to experience venues inspired by the beloved attractions they visited at Disneyland Resort, such as the all-new Haunted Mansion Parlor! The Haunted Mansion Parlor will have nostalgic tributes to Haunted Mansion attractions around the world and introduce guests to the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga. The Disney Treasure, where the spirit of adventure meets the daring tales of classic Disney films and Disney Parks attractions, begins inaugural sailings in December 2024. David also participated in a commemorative flag retreat on Main Street, U.S.A., during his visit to the park. This ceremony is a valued tradition in our parks, honoring U.S. veterans for their bravery and courage. Disney has a strong legacy of supporting military service members and their families, dating all the way back to our founders Walt and Roy Disney’s own contributions to country during World War I. Following his military service, he now devotes his work to helping other veterans as they transition out of the military through various veteran vocational programs and resource centers. We are so proud to celebrate David and his family and thank him for his service. We can’t wait for them to set sail soon! 4. We’re only a few months away from the inaugural sailing of the Disney Treasure, one of Disney’s new cruise ships! ©Disney We’re so excited to check out all the new dining and entertainment on board, but one of the perks we’re most looking forward to is the AquaMouse! This is a ride similar to the attraction of the same name on the Disney Wish cruise ship, but with a new storyline. However, this attraction is quite popular, so if you’re looking to avoid some long lines, here are the times you DO NOT want to ride! Boarding When everyone is boarding the ship, especially if it’s before their staterooms are ready, lots of people will choose to explore the ship. Some may have chosen to have a bathing suit on underneath their clothes to jump straight into the water, while others may have them with them to change into. Either way, a lot of people, especially kids, run straight to the AquaMouse to try it out! ©Disney While you may think that everyone would be choosing to get settled in their staterooms and eat lunch before really starting to explore, many families want to get the fun started ASAP, so the AquaMouse is likely to be VERY busy before the ship even leaves the port, as well as a few hours afterwards. This is definitely NOT when we recommend riding. The Evening After A Port of Call Ports of call are exciting for nearly everyone on board, and it means that the rest of the ship is mostly deserted. This is actually a GREAT time to ride the AquaMouse, however if you’ve spent all day on land and come back in the evening before the boat departs, that is NOT a good time to ride. ©Disney Why? Well, everyone’s just gotten done having a great day on land, and they want to ride the AquaMouse to finish out a great day, OR they arrived to the boat a few hours before final call and think that there are still tons of people on land. That’s not necessarily the case — a lot of families will come back a few hours before final call to ensure they’re back on board in time, and they may think riding the AquaMouse then is great because it won’t be crowded. As it turns out, it’s usually the opposite. The Final Evening of Your Cruise And on the final evening of your cruise, everyone will be wanting to get those final memories in, and do everything for the last time, and that often may mean riding the AquaMouse. ©Disney And we totally get it! If you or your family have loved the AquaMouse, absolutely take advantage of your last night and ride it once, twice, however many times you’d like. Just keep in mind though that a lot of other people may have the same idea and the line could be long for quite some time! ©Disney Some of our favorite times to ride the AquaMouse though are: During ports of call (especially the morning and mid-afternoon) During showtimes and dining windows The moment it opens each morning (essentially rope dropping it) AquaMouse on the Disney Wish We’ll be on the first sailing of the Disney Treasure and can’t wait to take you along with us, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB! 6. Halloween has officially come and gone, and while we’re sad to say goodbye to all the ghosts and ghouls… Festival of the Holidays …we’re pretty darn excited to welcome the holiday season at Disney World! We’ve already seen holiday decorations pop up at Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios, and we’re counting down the days until the beginning of holiday festivities like the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays! Speaking of which, Disney just announced some pretty big news about this year’s festival! The 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays runs from November 29th through December 30th and is full of holiday entertainment, merchandise, and of course — food! This is one of our favorite festivals of the year (okay, we kind of say that about all of them BUT STILL!) and we look forward to it every year. Disney just announced that there will be two new Holiday Kitchen food booths at this year’s festival! EPCOT Festival of the Holidays First up, the Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow will be serving up — what else?! — cookies! The gingerbread triangles that will make up the Spaceship Earth display inside CommuniCore Hall will be available to purchase at this Holiday Kitchen with a decorating kit! ©Disney Not only that, but we’ll be able to indulge in some festival favorites from past years at the Favorites of Festivals Past booth! This is located right outside CommuniCore Hall, where the Festival Favorites booth previously was. We’re still waiting on the FULL menus for the Holiday Kitchens this year — so keep checking back here for those! ©Disney In addition to the new food booths, the Glittering Grove Presented by Balsam Hill will also be new this year inside CommuniCore Hall. Take in a beautiful, enchanting Christmas tree forest along with an assortment of souvenirs that will be available to purchase! CommuniCore Hall And, Festive Fragrances presented by Scentsy will allow visitors to “stroll through a snow globe garden, inspired by Scentsy’s seasonal aromas.” This is also located in CommuniCore Hall during the festival! It seems like Disney is doing a bit more with CommuniCore Hall during this festival than what we’ve seen at the Food & Wine Festival. CommuniCore Hall And, don’t forget about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights that start earlier in November if you’re still looking to experience that holiday cheer! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for the latest holiday news from Disney World and more, so make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more updates! 7. You may already have some traditions when it comes to the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays presented by AdventHealth – like completing the Cookie Stroll every year, doing your holiday shopping around World Showcase, or taking the family to sing along with the Candlelight Processional. Today, I’d like to introduce you to seven new experiences at the festival that will put a little more holly-jolly in your seasonal visits to EPCOT from November 29 through December 30. A Grand and Miraculous Gingerbread Display The creative minds of the EPCOT Festival Team and Walt Disney Imagineering paired up with the delicious skills of the EPCOT Pastry team to create something truly grand and miraculous – an 8-foot-tall gingerbread display inspired by Spaceship Earth. The geodesic sphere made up of hundreds of handcrafted gingerbread triangles will be on display inside CommuniCore Hall for all guests to see and enjoy throughout the festival. And, just like its park icon counterpart, the gingerbread version will also light up and dance to music periodically throughout the day. You can discover the next dancing lights performance of this tasty creation with a countdown, courtesy of the Celebration Countdown presented by CITIZEN! Find more details about festive gingerbread fun across Walt Disney World Resort with the Gingerbread Display Foodie Guide. Deck the CommuniCore Hall Once you’ve finished marveling at the gingerbread Spaceship Earth, stroll around CommuniCore Hall to take in beautiful, seasonal décor inspired by the unique design of EPCOT. Enjoy an enchanting forest with the Glittering Grove presented by Balsam Hill, where twinkling trees bring festive flair. Speaking of trees – if you need to find some presents to put under a tree of your own, you’ll also find an assortment of festival merchandise inside CommuniCore Hall. 8. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Well, at least in Disney World, anyway. From iconic holiday decorations to festive events, there’s a LOT to enjoy in Disney World as we approach the end of the year. One of our favorite parts of the holiday season? That’s easy. It’s the massive handmade gingerbread displays all around the resorts! Donald Duck at the BoardWalk Inn by the Gingerbread BoardWalk Deli In the past, we’ve enjoyed the gingerbread displays at hotels like Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club, and (of course) Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. Not only do these mega gingerbread houses LOOK incredible, but they also serve TREATS! Let’s see what’s coming to Disney World for the 2024 holiday season! OK, we’re way too excited about this news, so we have to tell you about it right away. Starting November 29th, EPCOT will debut a brand-new 8-foot-tall gingerbread creation. Disney fans can visit CommuniCore Hall to see a NEW Gingerbread Spaceship Earth. Say WHAT?! How are those gingerbread artists going to make a spherical gingerbread house?! We cannot wait to find out. Apparently it took them over 160 hours to create the display. Oh, and it will even “light up and dance to music throughout the day” and feature 11 hidden Mickeys that represent the 11 countries of the World Showcase. ©Disney It’s baaaack. The iconic Life-Size Baby Gingerbread Giraffe and Baby Zebra displays are returning to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge on November 24th. 9. Get ready to “drop on in!” Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will make its highly anticipated debut at Disneyland Resort on November 15, 2024! If you’re planning a visit to experience this fun, family-friendly attraction, here is a roundup of important things to know, helpful tips and answers to some common questions. A memorable first thrill ride for kids Located in the newly renamed Bayou Country in Disneyland park, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a whimsical water ride that’s fun for the family! Along the way, you’ll encounter Princess Tiana, Mama Odie, gator pal Louis and many adorable new critters. The ensemble of familiar and new friends – plus a lighthearted story and catchy music throughout – create the recipe for a fun first “big kid ride.” Parties with guests that do not meet the minimum 40-inch height requirement can ask a cast member about the complimentary Rider Switch feature, which allows adult guests to take turns experiencing the attraction. More details are available at Disneyland.com. The storytelling starts before you board The attraction’s story picks up after the events of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “The Princess and the Frog,” as Tiana is preparing to host a one-of-a-kind celebration during Mardi Gras season honoring her employee-owned business, Tiana’s Foods. On the ride, you’ll join her search for the party’s missing ingredient: the band! But keep an eye out – you’re immersed in the story upon stepping into the queue. Inside the queue, you’ll find mementos of Tiana and her family’s culinary prowess, including newspaper clippings detailing Tiana’s story and the family gumbo recipe. The Tiana’s Foods truck located outside the attraction is missing a license plate, which is being used by a critter as a musical instrument. You may get wet! You’ll board a log flume that twists, turns and splashes through the bayou before culminating to a thrilling 50-foot drop. For any items you wish to protect from getting wet, consider placing them in a locker rental on Main Street, U.S.A., leaving them with a non-riding member of your party or placing them in a resealable plastic bag prior to boarding. Waterproof ponchos are available for purchase at various retail locations across Disneyland park. You can also find a Tiana’s Bayou Adventure-themed waterproof phone pouch and souvenir towel available for purchase at Louis’ Critter Club in Bayou Country. How to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when it opens Upon its grand opening, joining the complimentary virtual queue,* accessible only via the Disneyland app,** is required to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. A standby queue will not be available during the attraction’s initial opening days. The virtual queue enrollment times will be twice daily, at 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. PT. More information and how-to details on the virtual queue system is available at Disneyland.com. You may also get quicker entry to this attraction by booking an arrival window and using the Lightning Lane entrance with the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass, subject to availability.*** How to download your attraction photo with Disney PhotoPass service As you descend down the drop, don’t forget to smile for the camera! At this time, you can receive complimentary digital downloads of your Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction photo with Disney PhotoPass service. Attraction photos are also included with the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass or PhotoPass+ One Day. Both packages provide unlimited digital photo downloads from the entire day, so you can take even more memories home! Where to buy Tiana merchandise You can commemorate your journey to the bayou with a collection of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise, including apparel, home décor and more. Just like Ray and his firefly kin, light-up firefly accessories light up when they’re near each other. Beginning November 13, you’ll find Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise at the new Louis’ Critter Club retail shop. On the attraction’s opening day, November 15, Starcade in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park will be open as an additional temporary location to find Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise. Beginning November 21, you may also find select Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise at Ray’s Berets in Bayou Country. The New Orleans Square retail shop Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets offers a curated assortment of Princess Tiana- and New Orleans-themed treasures. Where to find beignets – plus, delicious dining recommendations The sweet scent of beignets in the attraction queue may have your mouth watering! The nearby Tiana’s Palace quick-service restaurant in New Orleans Square offers a specialty strawberry pie-filled beignet with strawberry cream filling and topped with strawberry glaze. You can also find gumbo (including a plant-based option!), a Muffuletta salad and other New Orleans-inspired fare. Classic Mickey Mouse-shaped beignets are available at the adjacent Mint Julep Bar. If your tummy is growling for something savory, the newly opened Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree in Bayou Country serves up delicious barbecue dishes, such as a combo platter with a selection of house-smoked meats, sandwiches and plant-based corn ribs. Check out the Disney Eats Foodie Guide here! With the Disneyland app, you can mobile order food and beverages from Tiana’s Palace, Mint Julep Bar, Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree and other select quick-service dining locations in the area. 10. You’ll soon be walking in a winter wonderland because gingerbread season is upon us! In just a few short weeks, Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort will be home to some dazzling creations for the holiday season. These gingerbread displays have become a yuletide tradition for the entire family, and for good reason. They are masterfully brought to life by the talented bakery teams following months of hard work and artistry. Trust me when I say, these are not to be missed. This year there are some new and returning creations to get you in the holiday spirit with a Disney touch. New this year, EPCOT will be welcoming Gingerbread Spaceship Earth modeled after the iconic attraction. Returning to Walt Disney World is the adorable Life-Size Baby Gingerbread Giraffe and Baby Zebra at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. And what holiday season at Disneyland Resort would be complete without the Haunted Mansion Holiday display nestled within the mansion itself! I cannot wait to see what the bakery teams have in store for us this year. While we wait for them to arrive, why don’t we check out some of this year’s fun facts and take a look at last year’s dazzling displays? EPCOT will be home to a brand-new creation starting on November 29 – Gingerbread Spaceship Earth. This offering in CommuniCore Hall will feature Spaceship Earth in gingerbread form. The EPCOT Festival Team and Walt Disney Imagineering have teamed up with the talented EPCOT Pastry team to create this 8-foot-tall gingerbread display, which took over 160 hours. It even will light up and dance to music throughout the day. The sphere itself is made up of almost a thousand handcrafted gingerbread triangles to mirror the iconic attraction. There are 240 pounds of honey dough, 100 eggs, 100 ounces lebkuchen spice, 55 pounds dark chocolate, and 100 pounds royal icing. For a final Disney touch, there are 11 hidden Mickeys to represent the 11 countries of the World Showcase. Back for its fourth year, the Life-Size Baby Gingerbread Giraffe and Baby Zebra displays will be trekking into the lobby of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge starting November 24. This adorable creation features Ginger, the baby giraffe – or rather a ginger-affe – along with Debra, the baby zebra. These life-sized displays stand nearly 7 feet tall and are brought to life by the incredibly talented Animal Kingdom Lodge bakery team with a combination of gingerbread, sugar dough, and modeling chocolate. New this year, there is a limited-edition pin, cookie jar, and holiday ornament inspired by Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge available for purchase. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Gingerbread Display Menu For some tasty bites to enjoy on this holiday safari, the team has also whipped up some tasty items, including the Gingeraffe Cookie and specialty cocktails. This year, we’re celebrating 25 sweet years of the beloved Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Starting November 6, the iconic house that smells as good as it looks will be available for guests to bask in the holiday festivities. As you explore the various details of this incredible display, you’ll find white chocolate candy canes, edible snowflakes, sugar poinsettias, and an 88-pound white chocolate Santa. The gingerbread itself is baked with 1050 pounds of honey, 800 pounds of flour, and 600 pounds of confectioners’ sugar. The decorations feature 700 pounds of chocolate and feature over 10,000 pieces of gingerbread – yes, you heard that right. The team spend over 500 hours baking the gingerbread and 480 hours bringing all the dazzling details to life. To celebrate the 25 years of holiday tradition, there are 25 hidden Mickeys scattered throughout. See how many you can find! There will also be a limited-edition collection of 25th anniversary merchandise including a pin, ornament, cookie jar, magnet, tumbler, t-shirt, and more available for purchase to commemorate your holiday memories. Grand Floridian Gingerbread House Menu If you’re looking to take a taste of gingerbread home, you’re in luck because nestled within the display itself, you’ll find treats available for purchase, including: Gingerbread Mickey Gingerbread Shingle Stollen Bread Brownie Pop Gingersnap Cookies Gingerbread House Ornament Gingerbread House Gingerbread Cookie Bags imported from Germany Gingerbread Loaf Peppermint Bark Grand Floridian Gift Box featuring assorted fan favorite treats, including a Santa Gnome Hot Cocoa Surprise, exclusive to the Combo Box Because parking at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is limited to guests with hotel and dining reservations, those visiting this sweet holiday display will need to park at the Transportation & Ticket Center and take the resort monorail. For 24 years, Disney’s Beach Club Resort has continued their cherished tradition with the life-sized Holiday Carousel. Did we mention it actually spins? Each holiday season, the horses are decorated to a different theme and this year, the characters from “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” will be brought to life by the talented Yacht and Beach Bakery. This yuletide celebration is masterfully created with chocolate, sugar, and fondant with hand-painted characters and handcrafted gingerbread shingles and snowflakes adorning the carousel. This is done with a whopping 432 pounds of honey, 200 pounds of icing, 100 pounds of eggs, and 2024 pieces of gingerbread, not to mention the creativity and enthusiasm of the bakery team. Be sure to keep an eye out for the 24 hidden gold Mickeys placed throughout the display. To take a piece of the memories home with you, there’s also a limited-edition pin, cookie jar, and holiday ornament available, too. Disney’s Beach Club Resort Gingerbread Display Menu Some of the holiday treats available at this location include: Linzer Cookie Spiced Orange and Cranberry Bundt Cake Gingerbread Macarons Hot Cocoa Brownie Hannukah Sugar Cookie Stollen Gingerbread House Just a short trip around crescent lake, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn plays host to a miniature gingerbread version of its iconic and fan-favorite spots from the BoardWalk itself. The BoardWalk Deli Gingerbread House, starting November 12, is beautifully created with details that look just like the seaside escape, but just in a smaller and sweet form. The BoardWalk Deli itself is home to none other than the BoardWalk Inn Bakery team, who brings this display to life. This year, there’s also a limited-edition pin, cookie jar, and holiday ornament available for purchase to bring the gingerbread magic home with you! 16. Happy first of November, or what we like to call, the first day of the holiday season in Disney World. Happy Holidays! Now, we’ve already seen some holiday decorations arrive in the parks. The first Jollywood Nights is coming up SOON in Hollywood Studios, followed by Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom has transformed overnight (and we’re always impressed when it goes from Halloween to Christmas in less than 24 hours). If you’re looking forward to the holiday season in Disney World, particularly New Year’s Eve, though, we’ve got a word of warning for you. We’re already starting to see something for New Year’s Eve at EPCOT. Park Pass reservations are completely GONE for that day. Now, it’s no secret that New Year’s Eve is HUGE in EPCOT (there are usually dance parties and even a special fireworks celebration), so if you have plans to visit that park, know that it will be crowded. 2023 New Year’s Eve crowds at EPCOT Note that park pass reservations are only required for SOME Disney World visitors including Annual Passholders, and those who don’t have a date-based ticket. But when park pass reservations are gone, it’s a good sign that a park will be very busy on that day. We just wanted to give you a heads up if that’s also your plan for New Year’s Eve, so you can prepare accordingly. Note that park pass reservations are also gone for Magic Kingdom on New Year’s Eve. New Year’s Eve dance party in EPCOT in 2022 This also probably means that there will be a huge demand for Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass, so the prices for those ride skip-the-line options could also be higher on New Year’s Eve. You’ll want to adjust your Disney World budget accordingly. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news. 17. Christmas diva Clarabelle Cow is defrosting as we speak…that can only mean one thing. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration IT’S THE HOLIDAY SEASON! Goodbye, Halloween. Hello, holidays at Disney World! We’re talking gingerbread houses, Christmas trees, special events, and SANTA! It’s gonna be a great winter season, and Disney is already decorating for the holidays. Dear Magic Kingdom Christmas tree, all I want for Christmas is you. The Magic Kingdom park entrance was all decked out with festive bunting and holiday topiaries. It’s so cute! Magic Kingdom Holiday Decorations! Here’s a closer look at those festive Mickey and Minnie topiaries. These make a great photo op! Happy Holidays! Even the Main Street, U.S.A. trolley is decorated for the season! YAY! We LOVE watching the Magic Kingdom transform for the holiday season — stay tuned as more and more new details arrive in the park. One of our FAVORITE Magic Kingdom holiday decorations is the wreaths inspired by each land in Magic Kingdom. Glass slippers! At Casey’s Corner, for example, you might see a baseball-themed wreath. Over at Cinderella Castle, the wreathes are bedecked with tiny glass slippers. It’s such a special little detail. There’s No Way You Spotted All of These Ridiculously Cool Details in Magic Kingdom’s Holiday Decor As you can see, we are READY for the holidays to begin! If you’re in Disney World right now, be sure to check out Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort — the GIANT gingerbread house (that doubles as a snack spot) is nearly complete. More than 10,000 pieces of gingerbread are attached to build this house. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. 18. You really have a lot of decisions to make when planning a Disney World trip, right?! Spaceship Earth I mean, you’ve got to figure out how you’re going to travel (airplane, driving, walking???), what rides you’re going to get on, which spots you’ll stop at for your meals, and where you’re going to rest your head at night. Speaking of where you’re going to stay, that got us thinking about which Disney World hotel rooms you avoid like the plague, so we reached out to you to get your thoughts. Well, we asked and you delivered! We reached out to our followers on Facebook to ask: “What are the WORST Disney World hotel rooms in your opinion?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments! What do you think? Now, let’s dive into some of your top responses! Pop Century Resort First up, we’ve got Pop Century, which is a budget-friendly option, but according to our reader Chris, the savings weren’t worth it. He shared, “One time, and only one time, we stayed at Pop Century and hated it. We had to walk forever, and the room was tiny, even for three people. Never again.” Disney’s Pop Century Resort It sounds like the combination of long walks to the rooms and the cramped quarters left quite a lasting impression. And many you resonated with his response. So, if you’re traveling with a small group, you might want to think twice about this one. BoardWalk Inn This resort has its charm, but for some visitors, like our reader Nancy, it’s a marathon just to get to your room. She shared, “The very far end of Boardwalk. Those hallways are SOOO long with a stroller.” Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Anyone who’s pushed a stroller through Disney World knows that the struggle is real. The BoardWalk Inn has some beautiful perks like being close to EPCOT, but those never-ending hallways, well, not so much. So, if you’re carting around tired kiddos, this resort might leave you feeling like you’re getting way more than your average steps in for those days. Saratoga Springs Next up on the list, we’ve got Saratoga Springs which was another resort that didn’t quite win over all our readers. Our reader Kyle didn’t mince words: “I am sure this is unpopular opinion but Saratoga Springs near the Disney Springs side. HATED it. There was no drink fountain for the refill cups and I feel like it was closer to Disney Springs than it was to the main hotel. To this day we still call it Saratoga Sespool.” Saratoga Springs Well, when you’re paying Disney prices, the least you can expect is a convenient refill station, right? And being closer to Disney Springs than the main hotel didn’t help win any points either. Port Orleans Next, you had some thoughts about Port Orleans. Take our reader Keri for example. She shared, “I hate Port Orleans! The theming made the resort feel dirty and gross to me. I also felt the room decor made the room feel small (2017ish). It also just felt super weird to be walking past everyone dining at Boatwrights. Being that it was the only indoor path from the lobby to our room, I was constantly passing by. I’d have to say the gift shop was my favorite part of this resort. Port orleans is the one resort we’d never return to.” Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside Keri’s experience is proof that just about any Disney hotel can be a bit of a hit or miss. What some people find charming, others might find…well, a little yucky. Also, having to constantly walk through dining areas just to get to your room can get old fast. We will say, the rooms at Port Orleans French Quarter were recently renovated and this happens to be one of our favorite hotels in all of Disney World. It truly just shows that everyones preferences are different, and that’s ok! Caribbean Beach Resort Some hallways just don’t vibe with everyone. To that point, our reader Erik said, “I’m not a fan of any of the resorts with exterior (motel-style) hallways. Caribbean Beach is my least favorite. For that reason, I choose to stay at Deluxe (except for Saratoga or Old Key West) or Gran Destino Tower or Swan & Dolphin.” Caribbean Beach Resort There’s just something about those exterior walkways that might not scream “luxury.” Caribbean Beach Resort has its fans, but if you’re looking for a more secluded or deluxe experience, this may not be your cup of tea. All-Star Music The All-Star resorts are staple for many budget-conscious families, but sometimes they’re not always a hit. For example, our reader Jessica explained, “We just finished a stay at All-Star Music, we were in building 1, so right by the lobby! It was great, but I will say we’ve stayed there before and been ALL THE WAY in the back so really any resort that it takes 7-10 business days to get back to your room!” All-Star Music Resort It seems like these long walks from your room are a bit of a recurring theme with Disney World resorts. And honestly, who wants to feel like they’re walking halfway around the world after a long day at the parks? Animal Kingdom Lodge Last up, let’s talk about Animal Kingdom Lodge. While this resort is usually praised for its views of wildlife, our reader Lynette didn’t exactly love her stay. She mentioned, “Definitely Animal Kingdom Lodge. The rooms were so dated. And super uncomfortable. And far from EVERYTHING!” Animal Kingdom Lodge The resort’s distance from the rest of Disney World is perhaps it’s biggest trade-off for its unique and immersive experience. But if you’re not 100% there for the animals, you might find yourself feeling a bit too stranded. Also, no one wants to deal with uncomfortable, dated rooms after a long day in the parks. Animal Kingdom Lodge Those were just some of your thoughts on which hotel rooms are the worst in Disney World, and now we want to hear even more from you! 22. We are obsessed with Disney food here at Disney Food Blog. We love it so much it is literally the name of our blog. So, when we see that new menu items have arrived at a Disney World restaurant, you know we HAVE to stop by and check them out! Pizzafari This time we are at Pizzafari in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to try out not one, but TWO new items that just debuted on the menu. We have been a bit disappointed in some new arrivals recently, but we have also found some new favorites, so we are here to give these new items a chance! Pizzafari is located in the Discovery Island area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The quick service restaurant offers a menu of Italian-American dishes for both lunch and dinner. This restaurant has a casual themed environment, and it does not lack in the color department. From the moment you walk inside you will be amazed by the colorful murals on the walls! New items have arrived! We are stopping by to try out TWO new menu items: Chicken Parmesan with Marinara Pasta and Creamy Pesto Chicken Pesto. We weren’t off to a good start based on looks, but as they always say, you can’t judge a book by its cover. The meals look like something you might get in a school cafeteria, but the true test will be how they taste! Let’s dive in First off, we are starting with the Chicken Parmesan with Marinara Pasta for $13.29. This dish is served with a slice of garlic bread. Chicken Parmesan with Marinara Pasta Like we said, first impressions aren’t exactly making our mouth water. We are getting microwavable meal vibes with this one. Unfortunately, it tasted just as bad as it looked. Everything is the dish was dull, and it severely lacked in the flavor department. Chicken Parmesan with Marinara Pasta There wasn’t anything in this dish that had good flavor. The breading on the chicken was not good, and the cheese and sauce had a terrible aftertaste. The garlic bread is the same Texas Toast you can get at the grocery store. While tasty bread, we were hoping for so much more for $13.29. We weren’t able to eat much of this meal, but here’s to hoping that the second dish is a bit better. Chicken Parmesan with Marinara Pasta Next up we tried the Creamy Pesto Chicken Pasta which also costs $13.29. It is also served with the same grocery store garlic bread. Creamy Pesto Chicken Pasta This one doesn’t look very appetizing either, but it is time to dive in regardless! We are happy to report that we enjoyed this dish much better than the Chicken Parmesan one. The chicken tasted the complete opposite of the Chicken Parmesan. It was fresh and it had a light chicken taste. Creamy Pesto Chicken Pasta We also liked the sauce that came with it. A lot of it was hidden on the bottom, but we enjoyed the creaminess. The sauce is more comparable to an alfredo sauce. We didn’t taste any pesto in it, but if you are looking for a creamy alfredo sauce this would be a good choice. This dish would be great for picky eaters as it is a plain, but comforting flavor. If you are wanting a more adventurous or flavorful dish, you would not like this very much. Creamy Pesto Chicken Pasta Overall, the Creamy Pesto Chicken Pasta was our favorite of the two, but it won’t be the most memorable dish you can find at Disney World. We were not fans of the Chicken Parmesan with Marinara Pasta and would recommend you choose something else on the menu. While these new menu items may not have received raving reviews, we are here to tell you that there is SO much good food at Disney World. If you are trying to decide where to eat on your next Disney World vacation, make sure you check out our video that covers the 30 ESSENTIAL Disney World restaurants: We have eaten everywhere at Disney World, and we aren’t stopping there. 23. Deck the boulevard! While there are still (*checks watch*) a few hours left of Halloween, the almost unbelievable truth is that spooky season 2024 is over, and the holidays are upon us! While we’re still just over a week away from the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of the season, certain areas of Disney World are already being decked out in their Christmas best, including one of the resort’s theme parks! During our visit (on Halloween, ironically), we noticed the first signs of holiday decorations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! HAPPY HOLIDAYS! The red and white stars were placed on lampposts up and down the park’s Sunset Boulevard (leading to the Tower of Terror). Stars! While the rest of the park’s decorations aren’t up yet… More decorations are coming! …the stars are a sign that Hollywood Studios will once again be decked out in the mid-century decorations we adore, likely in time for the start of Jollywood Nights on November 9th. Here’s a preview of what we’re expecting this year. There are so many holiday decorations to see! Speaking of Jollywood Nights, the event is returning to Hollywood Studios for a second year in a row, this time with a slew of new additions, including Glisten!, a special show on Hollywood Boulevard where international champion skaters will perform routines set to a holiday soundtrack, a rockin’ dance party at Pixar Place, a behind the scenes look at The Muppet Christmas Carol, new Character experiences, an exclusive Wondermade sweet treat, special event merchandise, and a Mandalorian character sighting in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. 24. It is finally here! Lightning Lane Premier Pass has debuted at Disney World! ©Disney We had the opportunity to try out the system at Disneyland last week, and yesterday, we tried out the Premier Pass in all four Disney World parks. After a day of riding every single attraction with a Lightning Lane, we gathered our thoughts to see if Lightning Lane Premier Pass was really worth it. Lightning Lane Premier Pass officially debuted on October 30th. This third Lightning Lane option allows you to ride every attraction within a park one time, eliminating the stress of return times and giving you more flexibility to plan your day. Mad Tea Party Lightning Lane This new option is only available to those staying at Deluxe Resorts and other select hotels. Like Lightning Lane Multi and Single Pass, it can be purchased seven days before check-in. While Premier Pass is limited to a select number of resort guests and sold in limited quantities, even if you stay at a Deluxe Resort, you are not guaranteed to be able to purchase it. Step-By-Step: How to Buy Lightning Lane Premier Pass on the Disney World App Lightning Lane Pricing for Premier Pass is high and varies based on the time of year and the park. Pricing is as follows: Magic Kingdom: $329-$449 plus tax Disney’s Animal Kingdom: $129-$199 plus tax EPCOT: $169-$249 plus tax Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $269-$349 plus tax Lightning Lane We tested this new system out on the first day in all four parks, and here is what we thought! Haunted Mansion Lightning Lane To start, it has a very high price jump from Lightning Lane Multi and Single Pass, and as expected, you still wait in the same Lightning Lane line and wait the same amount of time as someone who paid for Lightning Lane Multi or Single Pass. There is no extra “royal treatment” for this luxury service. It’s simply another way to skip the standby lines. Everything You Need to Know About Lightning Lanes in Disney World Lightning Lane So, should you splurge on this luxury service? Honestly, this is not realistic for the average family, and it’s not meant to be. There are so many excellent strategies for getting the most out of the other two Lightning Lane options (or you can rope-drop the parks and avoid paying to skip the lines altogether!). This is a luxury option, and you do NOT need it to be successful in Disney World. The ULTIMATE Guide to Planning A Walt Disney World Vacation Lightning Lane It is obviously very expensive, and it can be hard to justify the cost on top of the expense of tickets, hotel, and food. How Much Does a Disney World Vacation Cost in 2025? Now, a lot of people are comparing Disney’s new Premier Pass to Universal’s Express Pass, but we should point out that Universal operates a little differently than Disney, so it’s not a truly fair comparison.
