Disney’s Animal Kingdom We are huge fans of all the safari-themed merchandise around Animal Kingdom. You can find a safari hat, Mickey ears, and an adorable Minnie Mouse safari Loungefly backpack. 2. It’s the most wonderful (and tasty) time of the year! Well, almost. As the holiday season is just around the corner, you know what that means – holiday bites are too. And this year, Disneyland Resort has three won’t want to miss. Santa is even dropping in from the North Pole for one of them. You’ll be able to indulge in festive fun with Holiday Tea with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Hearthstone Lounge, the adorable Mickey’s Holiday Pajama Party Breakfast and Brunch at Storytellers Cafe, and Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays. All of these yuletide festivities will add an extra holiday touch to you and your family’s festivities. Advanced reservations are highly recommended for all of these tasty outings. What do you say we unwrap these experiences on the way to Disneyland Resort? First up, we’re jingling all the way over to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa with Holiday Tea with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Hearthstone Lounge. On select days from December 3 through December 24, 2024, you’ll be able to join none other than Santa and Mrs. Claus for a special tea party. But this isn’t your average tea party – Mrs. Claus has been hard at work putting together a tasty selection of holiday-inspired bites. This elevated holiday experience also features a variety of premium loose-leaf teas, the finest tea sandwiches, and delicately prepared treats to put you in the spirit of the season. Some of the holly highlights include a caprese salad, shrimp salad, prime Holstein tea sandwiches, truffled Christmas egg, and scones. You can enjoy a Classic Tea, Premium Tea, or Deluxe Tea experience, with the Deluxe Tea including strawberries and chantilly cream and a glass of champagne. Be sure to say hello and grab some photos with your hosts – Santa and Mrs. Claus – before they must head back to the North Pole for the big day. Guests will be able to enjoy a unique interaction with Santa and Mrs. Claus as they share stories of the joy of holiday baking with family and friends and the fine (and fun) art of sipping tea. You may hear “Jingle Bells” play throughout the restaurant during their dining experience! Bookings open on October 31 for this brand-new, one-of-a-kind experience the whole family will love! We don’t need to venture far for our next stop on this holiday foodie adventure. This holiday season, Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will host Mickey and his pals in their festive and coziest fashion for Mickey’s Holiday Pajama Party Breakfast and Brunch. From November 19 through January 1, 2025, the gang will be welcoming you to their pajama party as you feast upon the delicious offerings, including some seasonally themed bites, amid yuletide décor around the dining room. You bring your appetite, and we’ll bring the holiday cheer. As the sun goes down, you can also indulge in the Storytellers Cafe Holiday Dinner. While Mickey and friends won’t appear during dinner, there’s still plenty of foodie fun to be had. Your taste buds will be more than satisfied with the all-you-care-to-enjoy holiday dinner buffet. For those visiting on Thanksgiving, you can also enjoy these can’t-miss experiences on November 28, too! To experience these holiday experiences at Storytellers Cafe, check the availability. Last, but certainly not least, we’re heading over to the Disneyland Hotel where there are even more merry moments to be had at Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays. Goofy and his friends have busted out their merry best to welcome you to this holly, jolly dining experience from November 19 through January 2, 2025. As they greet their guests throughout the dining room, you’ll be able to treat yourself to a selection of delicious bites, including some limited-time holiday delights. Whether joining for breakfast, brunch, or dinner service, Goofy and the team will be bringing the season’s greetings all day long. 4. Applications are currently open for the Spring 2025 Disney College Program! For more than 40 years, Disney Programs like the Disney College Program have helped tens of thousands of participants begin their dream careers. Chances are, you might even know one of them! Earlier this year, we shared top career tips from Disney executives and leaders who got their start on the Disney College Program. Now, four of my fellow cast members and leaders are sharing how this unique internship program helped them land their dream jobs: Kellen, Lead Technology Initiatives Program Manager, Disney Experiences Internship: Merchandise, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (2023) Why she chose the Disney College Program: “I decided to go back to school to get my master’s degree after being in the professional world for almost 15 years. Doing the Disney College Program after I graduated allowed me to learn Disney’s culture, learn the lines of business and determine where my skills best aligned and how I could support with the experience I had.” Top takeaways from her experience: “I learned connectivity and collaboration. I can also understand both the technical side and user side of the guest experience and bridge that gap. I can give first person feedback about the systems we use in a way that’s helpful to the team here. The perspective and experience you gain are huge.” Why she recommends the Disney College Program: “You can’t find the unique experience that Disney offers anywhere else. I’ve done different jobs and internships. The level at which the operation runs, the people you meet, the support they give participants and the personal benefit of getting to experience the magic firsthand are unmatched.” Daniela, Guest Experience Manager, Food & Beverage, Magic Kingdom Park Internships: Food & Beverage, All-Star Movies Resort (2020) and Be Our Guest Restaurant (2021) How the Disney College Program kickstarted her career: “The Disney College Program was my first time working in food. It was completely different than anything I had done before, but I quickly realized it was the career I wanted to follow. I changed my entire career based on my experience there.” Top takeaways from her experience: “Knowing what it’s like to be in a support role gives me better insight when it comes to engaging with cast and guests as a leader. I can see things from both perspectives.” Why she recommends the Disney College Program: “The benefits are an awesome plus. As a cast member, I got to experience new rides first before anybody else and sign up for fun Disney Programs events like backstage tours. You become the expert for your family and friends, and you get to bring them in to experience the parks.” Advice to future interns: “Work hard. Show that you’re a hard worker and you’re striving for something, and your leadership and team will advocate for you. You never know when a six-month program could turn into a lifelong career.” Myles, Event Specialist, Disney Experiences Internships: Food & Beverage, Amorette’s Patisserie (2022) and Communications Events Intern, Disney Experiences (2023) How the Disney College Program kickstarted his career: “In college, I fell in love with event planning as a profession. The Disney College Program and Disney Internships were my foot in the door with the company and gave me a safe way to explore and try out my desired career field.” Most memorable moment: “When I lived at Flamingo Crossings Village, I met a manager on my team at a panel she was participating in about event planning and operations. We built a connection, which led to me joining the team when an internship opened up. I didn’t know that my team existed until I went to that panel. My team didn’t know that I existed until I went to that panel. That’s one of the things I love most about the program.” Why he recommends the Disney College Program: “There are avenues specifically to help Disney College Program participants find full-time roles. There is housing, there is transportation. You can figure out what you want to do and who you want to be without throwing all the responsibility of adulthood on you fresh out of college.” Advice to future interns: “Give it everything. Bring your whole self to every email you send, every meet and greet you do, every interview you have. Take whatever lessons you learn in your role and use them to catapult yourself ahead. Do everything in earnest and sincerity because when you are truly yourself, that’s when you’ll succeed.” Rebecca, Financial Analyst, Facility and Operation Services, Walt Disney World Internship: Merchandise, Disney Springs (2020) and EPCOT (2021) Why she chose the Disney College Program: “After I graduated with my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, I had a few job offers lined up, and I knew I could go into the professional world or I could go follow my Disney dream first and use the program as an opportunity to get my foot in the door.” Top takeaways from her experience: “There is so much about the parks you need to understand in order to work in construction like I do. When I go into conversations about flooring or point of sale systems or walkways and accessibility, I have perspective that I wouldn’t have had with just a finance degree. I can visualize what we’re doing.” Advice to future interns: “Come get general work experience that can apply to other things. Go to learning events that introduce you to different industries so you can meet real people doing these jobs. Something might resonate with you that you’ve never considered. If you’re willing to utilize everything that is offered to you, you can get different tastes of so many areas within the company.” Interested in starting your #DisneyCastLife? 8. Sometimes, even we scratch our heads when it comes to some Disney souvenirs. Balloons on Main Street We certainly believe in “to each their own” when it comes to Disney Parks souvenirs. However, there’s one souvenir specifically that we just don’t get — while another continues to be an ELITE Disney gift! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Disney balloons certainly make for cute photo opportunities and are a Disney Parks staple, but they rank fairly low on our best souvenir lists. Disney World Balloons Sure, Disney balloons are cute, but they eventually deflate, aren’t the cheapest souvenirs, and can obstruct views and hit people at the parks. Balloons Ultimately, we get why people want balloons, but if you’re on a budget and/or want a souvenir that you can literally have forever, we have a few Disney Store recommendations that are more than suitable replacements! Donald Duck gets us with this themed mug It’s natural to be a little grumpy or short-tempered when you wake up in the morning. If anyone gets having a short fuse, it’s definitely Donald Duck! Donald mug This Donald Duck “Quacked Roasters” Mug will help you jumpstart your mornings! 9. Disney World has changed in a lot of ways throughout the past few decades, but one of the biggest ones is how much you use your phone now. Spaceship Earth In the past decade, using your phone in Disney World has become a necessity if you want to do all you want to get done — you’ve gotta use it to check wait times, book Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass selections, join a Virtual Queue, and you can also use it to see your PhotoPass photos and mobile order food. Sure, you can do Disney World without your phone, but it does make things harder. This means that you’ll be using up a lot of your battery in the park, and it’s important to have a phone that can handle everything. We did the research, and these are the phones that will NOT survive a Disney World day easily. Now, we’re not saying these phones are bad, but you’ll want to pay close attention to your battery life and make sure you have a portable charger to give it an extra boost when it needs it. My Disney Experience app According to this recent Electronics Hub article, one of the worst smartphones to have when it comes to battery life is the iPhone SE2, which was released in 2020. This phone has an average battery life of 1821 mAh (milliampere-hour), which roughly translates to about 9 hours. Not terrible, but that was when using 4G, not 5G, which will deplete your battery faster. In comparison, the best iPhone battery life since 2018 is the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which has an average of 4422 mAh. ©Apple However, the Galaxy A2 Core is also a phone that may struggle in Disney World, as it has one of the lowest mAh scores of Samsung phones since 2018 at 2600 mAh. Now, that’s still worlds better than the lowest iPhone score, but it’s not the best Samsung can get. According to Samsung’s website, the Galaxy S24, Ultra Galaxy S23, Ultra Galaxy S22, Ultra Galaxy A55, and Galaxy A35 phones all have 5,000 mAh, the most powerful of current Samsung phones. ©Samsung We also encourage you to watch out for Samsung phones that use snapdragon processors. A Reddit thread from around a year ago featured many complains from Samsung customers about Samsung phones with this processor involved, as they performed significantly worse than the same Samsung models with exynos processors (however, many commenters weren’t happy with either, for the record). ©Samsung If we’re being honest here, iPhones have some of the lowest mAh scores out there, and many people have complained about the way the battery depletes faster than other phones over time. Apple has a median score of 3187 mAh since 2018, and when other brands such as Samsung have a “worst” score closer to 2,600 mAh, that’s not great. 10. The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is located at Disney’s BoardWalk. We have been keeping a close eye on the restaurant for a long time now, and we are eagerly awaiting its grand opening. The Cake Bake Shop Seating has popped up outside and we have seen private events happening recently, so we are hoping this new restaurant will open its doors soon. We got a glimpse at the menu ahead of the restaurant’s opening a few weeks ago, and we recently noticed that something has CHANGED! A few weeks ago, The Cake Bake Shop debuted its menu out in front and it was met with some pretty harsh criticism. The first thing that many people noticed were the prices on the menu. Disney fans took to the internet to express their opinions on the menu, with A LOT of the discussion focused on the expensive prices. The Cake Bake Shop When the menu was first unveiled, quiches cost $28, a burger and fries was $32, and grilled cheese on the children’s menu cost $18. One of our readers on Facebook, Cathy, said, “$12 for a croissant ??? Is it gold dipped? Or the size of a cat? Wow. Just wow. ” To say that people were a bit surprised by the prices is a bit of an understatement. Some readers argued that this would be a “special occasion” place and that they can see this restaurant being popular in Disney World. The original menu However, it appears that The Cake Bake Shop heard some of the outrage, as the restaurant just unveiled a NEW menu that features lower prices for many of the menu items. New Cake Bake Shop Menu Quiches now start at $23.99 for a Broccoli Quiche (which was previously $28), a Classic Burger with Pommes Frites costs $26.99 (was previously $32), and a children’s Grilled Cheese can be purchased for $13.99 (compared to $18 previously). Menu with Lower Prices Drinks have also decreased in price. You can grab a soda like Coca-Cola or Root Beer for $6.99, compared to $8 before. Many of the drinks only decreased a tiny bit, like Iced Tea, Lemonade, and pots of tea that decreased by one cent. And coffee & espresso options actually increased in price. A Cafe Latte now costs $7.99, but it cost $6 before. A Chai Tea Latte now costs $8.99, compared to $7 before. New Cake Bake Shop Menu We are continuing to keep a close eye on this new restaurant and will keep you updated. 12. We’re here at Disneyland to cover the debut of the Lightning Lane Premiere Pass! Disneyland We’re conquering every ride included with the Premier Pass and, in the process, learning a thing or two about the new skip-the-line system. While we were prepared for most things the Premier Pass had to offer — including its astronomical price — there were some surprises with the new system that we have to tell you about! The new Lightning Lane Premiere Pass went live at the Disneyland Resort on October 23rd, 2024, and is an alternative to the newly renamed Lightning Lane Multi Pass. ©Disney The Premier Pass grants the user one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane at each Disneyland theme park, which is useful if you are on a time crunch or have the extra cash to spend. Negating the need to make reservations and use the Disneyland App nonstop, this pass simplifies the Lightning Lane process, albeit for $400 a person. Lightning Lane at Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Other features include unlimited PhotoPass digital downloads and augmented reality photo lenses on the day of purchase. The turnaround since the initial announcement has been a whirlwind, so, unsurprisingly, we learned quite a bit during our first day using the Premier Pass. Lightning Lanes What shocked us the most was how truly simple it was to use! You get one pass barcode for all attractions and you technically don’t even have to select the attraction in the app — just scan in when you get to the Lightning Lane and it will all link back to the same barcode. Matterhorn Bobsleds Lightning Lane in Disneyland Another thing that surprised us is that it’s essentially no different than the other Lightning Lane options in function once you’ve actually scanned into the line. There’s no “front of the line” access with Premier Pass, it just allows you to enter any of the Lightning Lanes once per day without having to schedule a time or mess with the Disneyland app to do so. Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin Lightning Lane We were also shocked by how unrestricted we felt as we were using Premier Pass. With Single Pass and Multi Pass, you’re beholden to the times available in the app — and that’s IF you’re able to secure a Lightning Lane for those rides and they aren’t already sold out yet. We wouldn’t be shocked if folks with Premier Pass were easily able to ride everything in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure all in one day, either. Astro Blaster Lightning Lane In our experience, each ride was a near walk-on — but our reporter who tested things out for us noted that this day didn’t seem to be particularly crowded overall. Things could be different on the day you visit, but the sheer fact that you’re able to stroll into a Lightning Lane without having to worry about scheduling and timing is huge if you ask us! The current version of the Lightning Lane Premier Pass is limited and booking is allowed two days prior to use at 7AM PT. Through December 31st, 2024, the price will stay at $400 per person but may fluctuate between $300 and $400 depending on the date at the start of the new year. 13. Are you looking to skip the line on your upcoming Disney World vacation? Lightning Lane Over the summer, Disney changed their skip-the-line service from Genie+ to Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and Individual Lightning Lane became Lightning Lane Single Pass. The new Multi Pass system works similarly to its predecessor, FastPass+. You can now book your Lightning Lane selections and view prices before your trip. Those staying at Disney World hotels can book seven days before their trip, and the general public can book three days before their trip. Multi Pass is also broken up into tiers. You can choose one attraction from tier one and two attractions from tier two to start. If you are wondering which Lightning Lanes you should prioritize in 2025, we have you covered! When your booking window rolls around, you will be able to make your selections all at once, which means you do not have to check back every day. If you don’t know where to start, we recommend prioritizing the following rides, as they are super popular and can get snatched up quickly. You will be able to book both Lightning Lane Multi and Single Pass selections at the same time. Magic Kingdom Magic Kingdom has many popular rides, and it can be hard to decide on your first three selections for the day. Magic Kingdom We would suggest prioritizing the following: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train– Single Pass TRON Lightcycle / Run– Single Pass Tiana’s Bayou Adventure– Multi Pass Peter Pan’s Flight– Multi Pass Space Mountain– Multi Pass Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run are both Single Pass rides, which means they are not included with Multi Pass. In order to ride these attractions in the Lightning Lane, you will have to purchase a Single Pass for each person who wishes to ride these attractions. It is also important to note that TRON no longer has a Virtual Queue and only offers a standby line as well as a Lightning Lane Single Pass line. TRON entrance The other three attractions we suggest, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Peter Pan, and Space Mountain, are all in the tier-one category. You can only select one during your initial booking. Lightning Lane Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is Disney World’s newest attraction and is still popular. It currently has a Virtual Queue line, but we are unsure how long it will stick around. So you can take the risk and choose another attraction from tier one and try to snag a Virtual Queue the day of. We will keep an eye out for any news regarding the fate of Virtual Queue at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but for now, it is sticking around! EPCOT Our list for EPCOT is a little smaller, which makes it easier to choose which rides you want to prioritize. EPCOT For us, we go for the following: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind– Single Pass Frozen Ever After– Multi Pass Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure– Mutli Pass Frozen Ever After in Disney World Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is so popular that it has utilized Virtual Queue longer than any other attraction. We find it to be unlikely that Virtual Queue will go away in 2025, but you never know. Even if you do snag a Virtual Queue, you could wait in line for about an hour on busy days. If you want to experience this popular attraction without the long wait or stress of snagging a Virtual Queue, we recommend splurging for Single Pass. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Frozen Ever After is still widely popular, and a line can sometimes form outside of the Norway Pavilion. The same goes for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure; this attraction is also one of EPCOT’s newest attractions and, on average, has a wait time of over an hour. Both of these are tier-one selections, so if you are unable to get one, we suggest going for the other. Hollywood Studios Hollywood Studios has many new attractions, including Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land. Due to this, it can be hard to figure out which rides you should make a priority. Hollywood Studios For us, we suggest the following: Rise of the Resistance– Single Pass Slinky Dog Dash– Multi Pass Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway– Multi Pass Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run– Multi Pass Slinky Dog Dash Rise of the Resistance is still one of the most popular attractions at Disney World, and it was so shocking that Virtual Queue went away. We highly suggest purchasing a Single Pass for it. Recently, a single-rider line has been added to the attraction, which could save you both time and money. We don’t recommend relying on this, as sometimes a single-rider is not offered. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Slinky Dog Dash, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run are all tier-one attractions, meaning you can only select one of these during the initial booking window. If you are a Star Wars fan and were unable to snag a Single Pass for Rise of the Resistance, choosing Smugler’s Run as your tier-one Multi Pass selection could be a good route. Smugglers Run If you don’t really care about Star Wars, we suggest going for Slinky Dog Dash and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. There are so many attractions to choose from at Hollywood Studios, so remember that you can save an attraction that usually has a longer wait until the end of the night, as you can get in line up to one minute before the park closes. Animal Kingdom Animal Kingdom is a little different from the other three parks as they do not have a tier system, but there is still a Single Pass option. Animal Kingdom We suggest going for the following attractions when booking: Flight of Passage– Single Pass Na’vi River Journey– Multi Pass DINOSAUR– Multi Pass Na’vi River Journey Flight of Passage may have opened six years ago, but it still draws long lines. We recommend purchasing Single Pass, Rope Dropping, or holding off to ride until the end of the night. Flight of Passage For your Multi Pass selections, we recommend Na’vi River Journey; it is not as popular as Flight of Passage but is still popular as it is in Pandora. DINOSAUR’s days are numbered, and although we do not have a closing date, we can see it getting more popular as people will ride one last time to say their goodbyes. DINOSAUR Now you know which rides to prioritize, but how exactly do you book these super popular attractions? We are so glad you asked! Here are four tips! Book a Disney World Hotel Disney World hotel guests get a huge Lightning Lane advantage. Guests staying at a Disney World Resort, regardless of whether it is a Value, Moderate, or Deluxe Resort, can book Lightning Lanes seven days in advance. If you are not staying at a Disney World hotel, you can only book three days in advance. Art of Animation By staying on the property, you are setting yourself up to get first dibs of popular attractions. Book as Soon as Your Window Opens Be ready! Whether you stay at a Disney World hotel and get the seven-day booking window, or you stay off-property and get the three-day window, you want to book as soon as you can! Lightning Lane This will give you the best advantage of snagging the rides you want because as it gets later into your booking window day, popular rides can already booked up. Know What You Want to Do Beforehand Talk with your party before your booking window rolls around, and make a list of everyone’s must-dos. Figure out the rides you want to go for first, and have backups in case you can’t get your first choice. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Lightning Lane It is always wise to go in with a game plan to make it easier to make your selections. The Day of, Book Lightning Lanes as Soon as You Can On the day you are set to visit the parks, you are able to book more Lightning Lanes once you start using your first three. So make sure to be on your game and continue to refresh and check the My Disney Experience app to ensure you are making as many selections as you can throughout the day. Lightning Lane Lightning Lanes can be confusing, but hopefully, this guide can help you figure out which rides to book during your 2025 vacation to Disney World! 14. It’s baaaaack. If you’ve been waiting for your chance to be part of Disneyland Resort’s Annual Pass program, you need to listen up. Unlike Disney World’s Annual Passes, the selection at Disneyland is not available to purchase 365 days a year. In fact, Disneyland Magic Key Passes are unavailable for a good portion of the year. ©Disney Although Magic Key sales are currently paused, Disney recently revealed some pretty significant price increases. We had a feeling that this meant Magic Key Passes would go on sale soon, and sure enough, Disney just dropped some big news about when these passes will go on sale. OK, people. It’s official. Disney confirmed that Magic Key Passes go back on sale Wednesday, November 6th, 2024. At that time, all four pass types will be available while supplies last. In the past, these have sold out quickly, so be ready to go on November 6th! ©Disney The online queue will open no earlier than 8:45AM Pacific Time, and sales begin no earlier than 9AM Pacific Time. In our experience, that virtual queue can be finicky, so keep a close eye on your screen while you wait to enter the website. ©Disney Here’s a look at the full list of prices ahead of November 6th: Inspire Key: $1,749 (was $1,649) Believe Key: $1,374 (was $1,249) Enchant Key: $974 (was $849) Imagine Key: $599 (was $499) Depending on the pass, that’s an increase of $100-$150, or 6%-20% (the higher percentage increase is for the cheapest pass level). The most expensive pass, the Inspire Key, comes with the most benefits, while the Imagine Key is only available for Southern California Residents living in zip codes 90000 to 93599. ©D23 Below, you can see some of the differences between the Annual Passes. Note that Inspire Keyholders get a higher merchandise discount, free standard parking, and up to 15% off food and beverages around the resort. ©Disney If you already have a Magic Key Pass, you can renew it now. Just note that the number of passes and pass types available for renewal may be limited. Exclusive Magic Key Lounge If you’re attempting to purchase a pass this November, we wish you the best of luck! 15. There are SO many quick service spots in EPCOT, how do you choose where to go for a cheap meal? Spaceship Earth With restaurants in all the World Showcase pavilions, plus a few options near the front of the park, you can get a wide variety of cuisine options around this park. But have you ever been to the food court? I took a trip there for lunch recently, and my experience was not what I expected! Atmosphere Sunshine Seasons is located in The Land Pavilion at EPCOT, and you can see the theming as soon as you walk in! The four hot air balloons that hang from the ceiling are themed to the four seasons of the year. Let’s go to Sunshine Seasons! The quick service restaurant is one of the largest in the park, and it has a TON of seating. Each of the different seating areas is themed to a different season. Seating area This is a great place to dine when it’s raining or if you’re planning on hitting up all the attractions inside the pavilion. More seating The seating area across from the restaurant between Soarin’ and Living With the Land is usually the emptiest, so this is typically my favorite place to sit when I dine here. Lots of indoor seating here! Sunshine Seasons has a food court-style set-up, where there are multiple order counters for different types of cuisine. There’s a dessert counter… Dessert counter …several different counters for various entrees… Ordering counters …as well as some refrigerated cases for grab-and-go items like sandwiches, fruit, and snacks. Prepackaged snacks There are multiple drink stations throughout the food court area. They have Coca-Cola products, as well as coffee and tea. Drink station After you pick up your food and drinks, you’ll head to one of the checkout counters. Here, you can pick up other prepackaged snacks like chips. Checkout counters And once you’ve checked out, there are condiment stations near the seating areas. They’ve got a variety of prepackaged options, including add-ins for your coffee. Condiment station So what’s on the menu at Sunshine Seasons? Menu The important thing to note about this review is that I went to Sunshine Seasons for LUNCH. The lunch menu is the most extensive of the three meals, so if you want the best experience, go here midday. Starting out, there are 10 different hot entrees that you can order at the various counters. They’ve got everything from fish to chicken to stir-fry to pizza rolls. There’s a lot of variety! ©Disney For grab ‘n’ go entrees, they have offerings like salads and wraps. These can be picked up from the refrigerated section. ©Disney This restaurant is home to more kids’ meal options than some other places. You can order salmon, chicken, grab ‘n’ go meals, pizza rolls, or mac and cheese. ©Disney Sunshine Seasons has a TON of snack options, since it’s set up food court style. They have fruit, prepackaged snacks, chips, candy, and more. ©Disney And of course, we’ve got to mention dessert! The Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie and Turtle Brownie are favorites. They also have rotating seasonal milkshakes at the dessert counter. ©Disney Let’s order some food and test it out! Eats To get a good feel for the menu, I ordered two entrees and a dessert — let’s dig in! Sunshine Seasons Full Spread Starting out with one of my faves from this restaurant, we’ve got the Pepperoni Pizza Roll for $11.79. It’s served with pasta salad on the side. If you like hot pockets or pizza rolls, this is definitely a meal you may want to try! Pepperoni Pizza Roll Rolled inside the dough was mozzarella cheese, sauce, and pepperoni. Most of the pepperoni was concentrated in the middle of the roll, so the ends were a little less exciting, but this is a fun and unique way to eat pizza, and I enjoyed it more than I’ve enjoyed some of the round personal pizzas I’ve had in the parks. The pepperoni was savory and meaty, the sauce had a nice tomato tang, and the cheese was plentiful. My only complaint is that this can be a smidge greasy. Inside the pizza roll The pasta salad on the side is pretty good, but it’s not really anything to write home about. The pasta was soft and there was a decent amount of dressing, but I think it would’ve been improved with the addition of more add-ins like olives or feta cheese. Pasta Salad For my second entree, I ordered the Stir-fried Chicken for $12.29. This comes with teriyaki chicken, peppers, onions, pineapple, and a tangy sweet-and-sour sauce. Stir-Fried Chicken This dish smelled INCREDIBLE, so I was really excited to try it, but unfortunately, I was let down a bit. The rice was dry and crunchy in some places, but the sauce did have a nice mix of sweetness with a hint of spice. The chicken thighs were a little bit gristly and a smidge overcooked, which made them drier. The peppers and onions were also overcooked, making them mushy. Honestly, the flavors here were pretty delicious (especially with the tropical kick from the pineapple), but the textures are where things went a bit off the rails. Let’s dig in! For dessert, I ordered one of our DFB faves, which is the Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie for $4.29. This is such a cheap treat, but the portion size is great! Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie You get two chocolate cake-like pieces with a peanut butter frosting filling, and then it’s topped with chocolate shavings and a bit of whipped cream. You’ll probably want to eat this quickly because the frosting is very light and it will start to squish as you let it sit. The whoopie pie itself is definitely more cake-like and the chocolate is rich and not too sweet. That’s good, considering the frosting is VERY sweet — it tastes like regular whipped frosting with peanut butter mixed in. This would be a great treat for chocolate and peanut butter lovers, but I won’t say that it’s the BEST chocolate/peanut butter treat in Disney World. Definitely better than many quick service desserts though, and I would recommend it! Inside the whoopie pie So how does Sunshine Seasons fare? Overall All in all, I think this restaurant is sorely underrated. People talk about all the places to eat in World Showcase, so Sunshine Seasons gets overlooked, but it has some great menu variety, plenty of seating, and some truly top-notch snacks and sweets. Plus, it’s indoors, so it’s a great choice when it’s raining! Inside Sunshine Seasons You’re probably not going to order a culinary masterpiece here, but it’s not bad by Disney quick service standards. It’s not topping our “best restaurants” list anytime soon, but it’s also not offending us. This is just a classic, reliable choice! Nosh or Not? Celebrate the four seasons and dine in The Land if… You want a relaxing, air-conditioned place to enjoy a cheap meal. Want to sit down in air conditioning but don’t want to spend an arm and a leg? This is a reliable spot! There are almost always seating options available and it’s not too popular. You’re eating lunch. Sunshine Seasons has the best menu offerings at lunchtime, whereas the dinner and breakfast options are a bit more limited. You want to knock out The Land Pavilion all at once. Hitting up Soarin’, Living with the Land, and Awesome Planet all at once? Don’t worry about walking to the World Showcase to get food! Just stay in the pavilion, grab your eats, and then move on. Venture outside The Land for your meal if… You’re eating breakfast or dinner. The menu is more limited here for those two meals as compared to lunchtime. You want truly spectacular cuisine. The food here isn’t groundbreaking, so if you want some really amazing quick service food, you might want to try elsewhere. It’s a festival season. If you want to enjoy some festival food around EPCOT, we would recommend doing that for one of your meals instead of stopping at a quick service. The eats! 17. It’s a BIG day in Disneyland Resort! Disneyland Today (October 23rd), Disney is launching its new Lightning Lane Premier Pass service on the West Coast (before it launches in Disney World next week), and we’re here to try it out. Is this new offering for skipping the long lines worth the cost? We’re about to find out. Purchasing Lightning Lane Premier Pass To purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass, you’ll need to log into the Disneyland app at 7AM Pacific time two days before your visit. But as it’s the first day of the offering, we had to purchase the morning of. Starting on the app home page, you’ll need to select the Premier Pass option… ©Disney … and choose which day you’d like to use it for. ©Disney Once you purchase your Premier Pass, a single scannable ticket appears in the Disneyland App for you to use, and the wait times for each eligible ride appear on app’s home screen. ©Disney Step-By-Step: How to Buy Lightning Lane Premier Pass on the Disneyland App Using Lightning Lane Premier Pass We’re starting out by testing the Premier Pass at Disneyland! Here, we headed to Galaxy’s Edge first to see how it works. When we reached Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, we opened the app and selected the attraction from the list of available Premier Pass attractions. ©Disney … which in turn redeemed our pass for the simulator attraction. ©Disney Following our ride, Smugglers Run was “Redeemed” and is now unavailable to be selected a second time. ©Disney Issues You May Encounter Be forewarned that while Premier Pass is expensive, the actual process when you arrive at the attraction is the same. You’ll still redeem at the Lightning Lane entrance and join the same Lightning Lane queue that you would if you were using Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass. Smugglers Run Thanks for coming along with us to Disneyland to test out the new pass! We’ll keep you in the loop when it arrives in Disney World. Click Here to Learn More About Premier Pass! 18. There is now a new Lightning Lane option at Disneyland! ©Disney Over the summer, Genie+ transformed into Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Individual Lightning Lane became Lightning Lane Single Pass. This new system allows you to book Lightning Lanes at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure through the Disneyland app. Unlike Disney World, you cannot book Lightning Lanes in advance. If you are tired of constantly having to be on your phone to book Lightning Lanes, soon there will be a third option called Lightning Lane Premier Pass, and here is how you can book them! Lightning Lane Premier Pass has officially debuted TODAY, October 23rd, at Disneyland, and unlike Multi Pass and Single Pass, Premier Pass CAN be booked two days in advance! Premier Pass will only have limited quantities available and if you want to purchase it, they go on sale at 7 AM Pacific Time. Disneyland This new service gives you access to every Lightning Lane once per day, including available Lightning Lane Single Pass options. The biggest selling point is that you won’t need to choose a return time; you can just head to the attraction you wish and hop in the Lightning Lane when you’re ready. Another perk is that you will get unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos from your day, as well as Disney PhotoPass lenses. Lightning Lane at Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway The downside is that it will be priced at $400 per person per day for park visits through December 31, 2024. Starting in 2025, the pricing will vary by date and demand and be within a $300 to $400 range. California Adventure You can purchase and book Premier Pass via the Disneyland app, and here is how! We didn’t see it as an option on the home page of the Disneyland app but found it when searching for “Lightning Lane Premier Pass” in the app. Once you pull it up, you’ll see the the option to purchase Premier Pass. Click on the “Purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass” to continue. ©Disney You’ll then get a calendar for the days you can purchase Premier Pass for. You can purchase it up to two days in advance. Choose the date you’ll be buying it for. We chose today, October 23rd. ©Disney Once you chosen the date, you’ll see the date you chose as well as a checkbox to purchase the program. Double-check the details and then click on the checkbox and then click on “Continue.” ©Disney The next screen will give you details about who you’re purchasing the pass for. Make sure your entire group is listed before continuing. You’ll also get your subtotal. Click on “Continue” to continue your purchase. 19. Here at DFB, we’ve eaten at EVERY Disney World restaurant. Magic Kingdom And over hundreds (probably thousands) of restaurant visits, we’ve had some good experiences, and we’ve had some not-so-good ones. Among those not-so-good ones, we’ve had a few rather stressful restaurant visits…including one at a popular character meal. Crystal Palace is one of Disney World’s most popular character meals, located right on the end of Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom. This spot is a buffet where you can meet Winnie the Pooh and his pals — the only character meal where they’re available. Crystal Palace Because the meal is so popular, eating here can be fast-paced and slightly stressful. When things are running normally, characters may come by your table in quick succession. And the pathway of the characters when visiting tables is a little bit confusing, so it’s hard to tell sometimes when they’re coming to you next. Hey there Tigger! Because of this, one member of our team described this meal as “scary” because she was afraid to get up and grab food and accidentally miss a character. Unfortunately, she ended up picking the wrong moment to hit the buffet, and Piglet went right past her table. Piglet In some cases, Cast Members can bring characters back to your table if you get up at the wrong time. However, during this particular experience, we were told that Piglet couldn’t be pulled out of the rotation to come back to the table. This might be a big bummer if you miss your favorite character! Characters inside Crystal Palace So if this is a real fear for you, you might want to steer clear of character meals that are also buffets. Some options like Garden Grill, Topolino’s Terrace, ‘Ohana, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, and Storybook Dining at Artist Point will all serve food to your table instead of requiring you to get up and walk to a buffet. Breakfast plate from Crystal Palace Also, things are sometimes a bit more flexible at the less popular buffet character meals. While Crystal Palace and spots like Chef Mickey’s can be fast-paced, you might get a little more leeway with the characters if you go somewhere slower like Tusker House or Cape May Cafe. (In my personal experience, I got to see the characters multiple times at those last two restaurants!) Tusker House Ultimately, it’s up to you if you’d like to risk it with a buffet character meal during your visit. They can be stressful, but they can also be delicious and great for a group with a variety of food tastes. Stay tuned to DFB for more dining tips from Disney World! 22. We’re thrilled to share another exciting milestone as we “make way” towards the opening of the Island Tower addition at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows on December 17! This week, life-size sculptures of Moana and her iconic canoe were unveiled at the tower’s new splash pad play area called “Moana’s Voyage.” Just like Moana on her epic ocean adventure, little wayfinders will be able to embark on their own journey in this family-friendly splash zone. Kids will discover the wonders of water with playful sprayers and bubbly fountains all around them as imaginations flow free. The brand-new tower will make a splash with even more water features. Guests and Disney Vacation Club members will be able to unwind at the stunning Cove Pool, a zero-entry pool that will be perfect for lounging all day under the Florida sunshine. But that’s not all. These exciting new additions will join the already beloved lineup of restaurants, lounges, shops, and pools that make Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows a true fan-favorite. We can’t wait for you to experience these new aquatic features and make waves of memories—just like Moana! The post Moana Sails in at the Island Tower Expansion appeared first on Disney Parks Blog. 23. My kids and I have been soaking up the sunshine with several quick Disney Resort weekends – character surprises, free onsite transportation, early theme park entry, recreational activities for the whole family … what’s not to love? We just had the BEST time ringing in a fourth birthday celebration for my car-obsessed kiddo at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, one of our value accommodations, and I have to tell you all about it. Space to Stretch Out and Themed Amenities for Days My little family of three is easily comfortable in any resort room, but we brought the whole (pit) crew with us this time and needed a bit more space to spread out … Especially with a mix of little kids, a teen and grandparents! Enter, the Cars Family Suite at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Inspired by the Disney•Pixar mega-hit, Cars, this themed suite sleeps six and is a great value for families, with TWO full bathrooms, a kitchenette, three beds and tons of storage … and the dressers are even designed to look like tool cabinets right out of a mechanic shop! We loved having dedicated spaces like a separate dining area and living room, where the grandparents and my teenage stepson could relax while my littlest had an uninterrupted nap in the bedroom. We kept our Cars-weekend theme going with technology in the room, too, when we found a Cars bedtime story on the TV and a couple favorite characters greeted us on the “Hey Disney!” voice assistant. Life Could Be a Dream, with the Perfect Themes I seriously can’t say enough about the theming at this resort. The bathrooms are even designed to look like a car wash (‘cause, you know, washing?) – how cute is that? And just outside your door, you can pull right up next to life-size models of your favorite Cars characters for photos. TIP: The Cozy Cone Pool has orange-cone ‘cabanas’ available for free on a first-come, first-served basis, giving you an extra fun spot to lounge in the shade. This resort was a perfect place for the kids to spend quality time with their grandparents, playing a quick round of cornhole, catching a movie under the stars and swimming in one of the resort’s three themed pools (including the largest hotel pool at Disney World). Even a little afternoon rain didn’t stop the fun, with a tie-dye Mickey shirt craft, an arcade and lots of art supplies and books to read as a family inside Animation Hall. I was a happy mom, seeing my parents, littles and teenager enjoying their time together with so much to do around every corner. TIP: Chat with cast members! They know a ton about the resort’s many illustrations and can even point out some celebrity signatures on the artwork around Animation Hall. Snacking and Relaxing on a Budget was a Breeze Is it just me, or are kids ALWAYS hungry? This was never a problem at the resort, especially with so many fresh options at the Landscape of Flavors food court. I highly suggest the tasty and toasty meatball sub, and the Lightning McQueen and Little Mermaid waffles were a big hit for my kiddos – a twist on the classic Mickey waffle, with the same great taste! I love that they have separate counters to quickly order your food, but if you find yourself with a range of palates, use the My Disney Experience app to Mobile Order and save some time waiting at multiple counters. You can even do this before leaving your room – just choose your pick-up time and then sit back and relax until it’s ready. We also made the most of our budget by taking advantage of the room’s kitchenette with snacks on the go. The small fridge and microwave were a total game changer for late-night cravings, post-nap snacks and poolside juice boxes. TIP: Buy the Resort-Refillable Drink Mugs on day 1 to make the most of your money and keep you caffeinated and hydrated with free refills on beverages throughout your stay! Ditch the Highway and Take the Sky-Way for Free, Easy Theme Park Access We traded in Cars for aerial gondolas to wrap up our visit and spent a breezy trip gliding over Hourglass Lake aboard Disney Skyliner, pointing out all the Disney characters who adorn the resort buildings you could see from above. Disney Skyliner is celebrating its 5th anniversary this month and is our favorite way to reach EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s just part of the Disney Transportation system of buses, monorails and watercraft that provide complimentary theme park transportation when you stay at a Disney Resort hotel. TIP: Take Disney Skyliner to another nearby resort for a change of scenery – this mom loved a quick trip to the Joffrey’s Kiosk at the Trinidad Station for a seasonal latte! Something for Every Family, Age and Interest I know our trip was (purposefully) Cars-centric, but if you love Disney, this resort has a little something for everyone … Especially if you are a 90s animation fan like me! Other sections of the resort are themed to classics such as Finding Nemo, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid. It was extra fun having my parents there with us, since they were the ones who took me to see these Disney films as a kid – and now we got to enjoy them together with MY kids in tow. If you’re ready to make your own memories, visit DisneyWorld.com/specialoffers for ways to book and save on your stay, including special savings of up to 30% this holiday season. And one more TIP for you – if you visit in 2025, Disney Resort hotel guests can enjoy free water park admission on check-in day!
