  1. We thought Disney Parks Blog readers would enjoy a little something special for the 15th anniversary of the popular Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith. So today, we asked Disney artist Mike Britton to create a special new mobile/desktop wallpaper especially for the occasion. Be sure to check out the terms of use about using the wallpaper before you download it. Also, check out our growing gallery of special wallpapers with images for all of your favorite screens. 2. Today we’re celebrating the anniversary of one of my favorite attractions – Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. The attraction originally opened its doors at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 29, 1999. In case you haven’t experienced it yet, the attraction lets you tour G-Force Records, the music studio where Aerosmith is holding a recording session. When the band heads out to a show, they invite you to travel to the show in a super-stretch limo that speeds from 0-57 mph in just 2.8 seconds. Better yet – each limo is equipped with an audio system consisting of 125 speakers, 24 sub-woofers and more than 32k watts of audio amplifier output power and each car broadcasts different Aerosmith songs. In honor of today’s anniversary, here are 15 fun facts about the attraction: The attraction’s grand opening on July 29, 1999 featured a dedication ceremony with Aerosmith. The giant electric guitar that serves as the attraction’s icon measures 40 feet tall. There are more than 900 speakers throughout the attraction. The attraction’s track measures 3,403 feet.Elements of the attraction were manufactured as far away as Netherlands and Germany.Aerosmith band members Steven Tyler and Joe Perry took part in re-recordings for the attraction. The entire band appears in the attraction’s preshow film. The band’s manager who appears in the preshow was played by actress Illeana Douglas. The DJ who is “broadcasting live” from the Aerosmith concert is classic rock DJ Uncle Joe Benson. The look of the super-stretch limo was influenced by the 1962-era Cadillac. Each super-stretch limo can fit 24 passengers. Each guest is surrounded by five speakers – four around the head and one subwoofer under the seat. Each vehicle features a different Aerosmith song or medley. Tracks are: “Nine Lives”; “Sweet Emotion”; a “Back in the Saddle”/”Dude Looks Like a Lady” medley; a “Love in an Elevator”/”Walk This Way” medley; and a “Young Lust”/”F.I.N.E.”/”Love in an Elevator” medley.Guests experience a g-force between 4-5 entering the first inversion on the track. The attraction was the first coaster at Walt Disney World Resort to feature multiple inversions.Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster opened at Walt Disney Studios Park (Paris) in 2002. There, it’s called “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster avec Aerosmith.” Which is your favorite song to take a ride to? Tell us in the “Comments” section below. 3. We’re back with another installment in The Best Thing I Ever Ate in Disney series! Snacks are a big deal around here. Heck, we plan entire events and crawls around them! And it’s clear Disney thinks snacking is where it’s at, too. We’re seeing more and more small plates restaurants open. Spots like Tutto Gusto, Spice Road Table, and The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge cater to the grazing crowd. Today, we’re talking about some of our favorite snacks that we enjoy nearly every time we visit Walt Disney World or Disneyland. Dig out your stretchy pants, or plan to do an extra lap on the treadmill, and let’s do this! Cheshire Cake CupWho doesn’t love a ginormous cupcake? You know I’m a big fan of these edible works of art. But at the end of the day, I pretty much see them as frosting delivery systems. So you can imagine my delight when I got wind of Cake Cups at Magic Kingdom’s Cheshire Cafe! Layers of alternating cake and frosting make a parfait-style dessert that’s hard to resist. Cheshire Cake Cup at Cheshire Cafe I know, I know. I talk about these a lot. But I figure if there’s something I NEVER miss when I’m at the Magic Kingdom, I should take every opportunity to suggest it so you don’t miss it either. Frosting!! Two new, equally gorgeous varieties have recently made an appearance — White Rabbit and Queen of Hearts versions! Expanding the cake cup line? We are ALL IN. White Chocolate Rabbit and Queen of Hearts Strawberry Shortcake Cake Cups These are the closest snacks I’ve found to them just giving me a bowl of frosting and a spoon, soooooo, yeah. Dole WhipNext up is one of my favorite Disney snacks of all time, the classic Dole Whip. Oh, sure, you have your cult classics. Your Turkey Legs. Your Mickey Bars. And they’re great. But if there’s one snack I must have every time I’m at either Disneyland (umbrellas and cherries!!!!) or Walt Disney World, it’s some variety of Dole Whip. This creamy pineapple-flavored soft serve made news here on Disney Food Blog for a different reason last year, when we brought you word not of what it is — but what it isn’t! Seems that our favorite Disney chilly treat is now Vegan, Dairy Free, and Gluten Free! Dole Whip Float at Disneyland’s Tiki Juice Bar — My Favorite! So if you’re looking to indulge in a creamy, delicious snack, but you have reasons to watch what you eat — this is a great option! I personally go for a Dole Whip Float with straight Dole Whip every. Single. Time. But others really prefer to temper the puckery goodness of pineapple with a hint of vanilla, and opt for the Vanilla Swirl. Dole Whip at Captain Cook’s And remember, you can skip the long lines at Magic Kingdom’s Aloha Isle in Walt Disney World by heading to the Polynesian Resort for your Dole Whip fix instead! Waffle SandwichIt’s a snack. No, it’s a meal. Well, I suppose it depends on how many people are fighting for a share, and how hungry you are. Magic Kingdom is home to another one of my favorite places to score great snacks — Sleepy Hollow Refreshments. This cute little building with a fun backstory serves up several treats that are big enough to count as a meal. But some of the brightest menu stars are the Waffle Sandwiches. And you have so many options spanning all the meals in a day! If you swing by here for breakfast (or lunch, or dinner), one of my favorites is the Nutella and Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich. It’s huge. And supa yum. Nutella and Fruit Waffle Sandwich If you happen to visit a little later in the day, you can still get the Nutella version, but your Waffle Sandwich options expand to include more savory choices. I can’t get enough of the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle. Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich at Sleepy Hollow But the Swiss, Ham, and Prosciutto version has lots of fans, too! Swiss Ham and Proscuitto Waffle Sandwich Either way, bring help to eat these, or plan to count it as a meal. They’re delicious — and filling. Carrot Cake CookieI try. Really. I try to spend a day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and not succumb to the temptation of a Carrot Cake Cookie from Writer’s Stop and Sweet Spells. But it just isn’t gonna happen, guys. Because every so often you need a break from cupcakes, right? I mean, I guess. Yes. Definitely. Stopping by the little unassuming coffee shop back between Tatooine and the Streets of America is also a nice way to slow down and escape the crowds for just a bit. And while you’re at it, you may as well get a serving of veggies. (Because Carrot Cake Cookies totally count.) Carrot Cake Cookie And the spicy, cakey cookies are the perfect excuse for consuming that incredible cream cheese frosting. Peanut Butter SandwichDon’t you love when a snack has a name like it’s a real food, but then it turns out to be a spectacular sweet? The Peanut Butter Sandwich fits that bill. This is basically an open face Peanut Butter Graham Cracker Sandwich, smothered in Chocolate and drizzled in more Chocolate. In other words, it’s salty-sweet perfection. Peanut Butter Sandwich in Disneyland And that Peanut Butter Filling isn’t just PB right out of the jar — it’s that yummy, sugary sweet version that’s just this side of Peanut Butter Fudge. Inside the Fabled Peanut Butter Sandwich And did I mention the Chocolate? Sadly you won’t find this one in Disney World anymore; it’s a Disneyland exclusive these days. Pick yours up at Candy Palace to Trolley Treats (and sometimes Pooh Corner). Cheesecake on a StickWhen is Cheesecake a Popsicle? When you put a stick in it and serve it frozen, that’s when. Ok, so I totally get that you may not think that Frozen Cheesecake on a Stick from the Gelato Bars Kiosk in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney sounds all that great. I mean, will it be so hard you can’t eat it? Will it make a mess? Would it still taste as rich and completely awesome as the regular stuff? No. No. And Yes. Seriously — I only found this amazing treat a little while back, and it’s already a tried and true favorite! It’s surprisingly soft — owing to lots of amazing butterfat, no doubt! — and the flavor is incredible. Disneyland’s Frozen Cheesecake on a Stick! I don’t know what kind of magic they’ve got happening here, but it’s definitely produced a keeper! Nudel Gratin at SommerfestHere’s another snack that borders on a meal. But since it could sorta be considered a side dish, it’s makin’ the list. Just when we didn’t think that Disney could make another incredible version of Macaroni and Cheese, they went and proved us wrong with the Nudel Gratin at Epcot’s Sommerfest. The extra, over-the-top, super cheesy baked version appeared on the menu at this Germany Pavilion counter service stop a while back, and it’s quickly become one of our favorite all-time dishes! Nudel Gratin at Sommerfest It’s filling and at less than $4, it’s an incredible bargain, too! Wanna make at home? No problem. Here’s the recipe. There are so many truly incredible snacks at Disney, but that wraps up my list of the Best of the Best…for this installment.  The best part of Disney is that they keep introducing new classics. Can’t wait till Volume III! So let’s hear from you now — what’s the Best Thing YOU Ever Ate in Disney when it comes to snacks? Don’t be shy — sound off in comments below! 5. I’ve enjoyed hearing from guests who are just as excited as me for the new Haunted Mansion products coming this fall to Disney Parks. As it turns out, Madame Leota and the 999 happy haunts from the Haunted Mansion attraction have also received your sympathetic vibrations. This fall, they are gathering to open a new merchandise destination in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom Park in Florida. The new merchandise shop will be located in the current Yankee Trader shop, which will have its last day of operation on July 27, 2014. Inspired by Madame Leota, the new location will carry select items from the upcoming Haunted Mansion Authentic program including apparel, home goods, souvenirs, and more. Final arrangements are still being made, so I invite you to keep watching the Disney Parks Blog in the coming months. I can’t wait to share additional details about this new destination for all things Haunted Mansion. 6. Today, we are back with another fun and wacky trip through Mitsukoshi Department Store in the Japan Pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase. Mitsukoshi Department Store Seriously, I haven’t been to the actual country of Japan. (Yet.) But if the department stores there are half as awesome as Mitsukoshi is, then I’m booking the next flight. I mean, where else can you go to buy all things Hello Kitty; the coolest kimonos, chopsticks, and tea sets imaginable; plus monorail plates (I know. They’re bullet trains. Whatever.) — AND pearls?!? And don’t even get me started on the Pocky and Sake! (See what I just did there?) Plus a myriad of other fun eats. Well, we’re staying with the theme of animation on this trip, as we take another fun look at cool candy you can score in the Japan Pavilion. Pokémon, Mario, and Thomas & Friends Food FindsLet’s get the party started with everyone’s favorite little anime…dude — Pikachu from the world of Pokémon. Well, I mean, he’s in the front. But he has his buddies with him on this “Drink for Entertainment”. Pokemon Drink If you’d like to get some insight into what you’ll be ingesting, have a peek at the nutritional information and contents on the back. Although I don’t promise that either will be very illuminating. Pokemon Drink Nutrition The Pokémon Candy Packs give you several characters to choose from! (Forgive me. I’m soooo not up on Pokémon lore.) But ya gotta admit — these are pretty cute. Love Pikachu’s little fierce face! Pokemon Candy Pokémon is second in world wide popularity only to this next guy when it comes to the kingdom of gaming. He’s a little fella you might know as Mario. Now, we love him. But he’s especially fun in gummy form. (Isn’t everything?) And even better — he doesn’t contain peanuts. Random, yes. But good to know. Super Mario Gummies You can also get Mario Crunchy Candies. No, seriously — that’s what it’s called. They’re clearly all about texture (but the dispenser is kinda great, too). Mario Crunchy Candy Dispensers But call off the hunt for your Candy Souvenir Needs! Because what could be better than Pez? How about Klik?! You can choose from Mario or Yoshi, and the dispensers come with refills. Mario Candy Dispensers Straying away from gaming and straight into animation, we found another beloved character represented — this time, someone for the toddler set. Thomas & Friends, the beloved British animated series, must also have found popularity in Japan, judging from these cute Thomas-themed candies. Fans of the series can choose from tubes that resemble Thomas, Percy, or James from the series. Thomas and Friends Tube Candy At first, I thought they these little faces were actually the candy! But they’re just the decorative end of the tube. The actual candies are pill-sized, white, and have the different little faces stamped on them. Think of uncolored Sweet Tarts, and you’ll be on the right track. Check Out the Little Thomas Faces. Funny or a Little Creepy? But without a doubt, my favorite was the Thomas & Friends — what else?? — Pocky! If you’ve been around a bit, you know how much I love these Japanese cookie sticks, and some of my favorites are the chocolate-dipped ones! Thomas the Train Pocky. NOW We’re Talkin’! So there’s our latest little sojourn to and through Mitsukoshi! If you haven’t ever had the chance to meander through this corner of Epcot, really, I can’t encourage you enough to set aside time during your very next trip to make it happen! And if you need to bring home some fun and quirky souvenirs from your trip — well, you’re welcome. Which of today’s food finds from Mitsukoshi Department Store intrigues you the most? 8. The struggle between the folks of Frontierland and Rainbow Ridge has been unfolding in “Legends of Frontierland: Gold Rush!” for a few weeks now in Disneyland park, so my fellow Disney Parks Blog author, Tyler Slater, and I recently headed out to join the story ourselves. As Eagle Eye Erin, I was drawn toward the exciting people of Rainbow Ridge, but my more kind-hearted counterpart, Two Bit Tyler, joined the side of Frontierland. And he accused me of spyin’ – if you can believe it! See for yourself … Rainbow Ridge, the gold town that sits in the shadows of Big Thunder Mountain, has begun to dry up. The way the folks of Rainbow Ridge see it, why go west and build a whole new town when there is a perfectly good town right here in Frontierland? The goal of “Legends of Frontierland: Gold Rush!” is to buy land for your town – keep it for Frontierland or snag it up for Rainbow Ridge. You do this with “bits” and you earn bits by picking up jobs in town or making it on your own. The citizens with the most land at the end of the day win the town! Have you joined “Legends of Frontierland: Gold Rush!” at Disneyland park? What is your story? 12. It’s time to head to the Wild West and take a look behind some rarely open doors… Learn About: Diamond HorseshoeMagic Kingdom Disney World RestaurantsThe Diamond Horseshoe is a seasonal option in the Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland, which means it’s open only on peak-level crowd days (much like Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland). During Thanksgiving week and around Christmas, it’s been known to host an evening buffet. When it’s open for lunch, though, it’s a counter service stop featuring turkey and barbeque sandwiches served up to the tunes of a self-playing Wurlitzer. Perhaps you yourself have strolled past The Diamond Horseshoe. The Diamond Horseshoe If so, odds are good (well, pretty great, really) that you’ve seen these doors closed. “The Diamond Horseshoe is not currently serving…” But on the busiest of busy days, you just might catch them open… it’s time to step inside The Diamond Horseshoe! The Diamond AND the Horseshoe! And since it’s so rare to find this place open, we’ve got a little exploring to do… AtmosphereOkay, I’ll admit… like any good Disney geek, when the doors opened I walked straight past the ordering counter to check out the atmosphere. But I felt fine lingering, since someone left their umbrella at the front , which indicates to me that folks at the Horseshoe are expected to sit and stay awhile! Umbrella just inside the entrance Though located in the more rustic surroundings of Frontierland, when you step into this ol’ West music hall, the atmosphere seems decidedly more lush — from the deep red curtains on the centerpiece stage… The Diamond Horseshoe stage … to the red glass chandelier on the ceiling. Chandelier Framed photographs and sheet music abound, paying tribute to vaudevillian actors and artists. Actress portraits Framed sheet music cover The set up at the Horseshoe is different from most counter service locations on property, due to its unique “horseshoe” shape, it’s double-duty as a buffet, and the fact that it served as an entertainment venue in the past. Rather than the standard setup of food counters directly behind the ordering registers, once you place your order, you’re directed to the left to pick up your food, where the counter is reminiscent of an old-style saloon. Food pickup counter Remember, though, you’re at the Magic Kingdom, so the only “saloon” drinks you’ll find here are fountain soda, root beer slushes, and flavored lemonades . Drink station There are plenty of tables in the center of the downstairs floor, awaiting their peak-crowd-day destiny. Downstairs seating By the way, the picture above was taken at 11:00 am – pretty much right when the doors opened the day of my visit. If you’d like a comparison, you can click this link and you’ll be able to check out some pictures of the crowds during a noon arrival at Tortuga Tavern. It’s amazing the difference that an hour can make even on peak crowd days. Anyway, back to the Horseshoe! I was really interested in heading upstairs… One of two stairwells I LOVE the seating up here. Though not ideal for larger groups (which can easily be accommodated on the lower level), you have your choice between the majority of counter-style seats or a few smaller tables. Upstairs seating More upstairs seating While on the topic of seating, I have to mention that the chairs upstairs are unusually well-cushioned and comfortable. I guess it’s because they’re so rarely sat upon! Cushy chairs I chose the more secluded table in the balcony box seating. (There are cool sections like this with larger tables on the lower level, too.) “Box seats” Upstairs view from the box Whether upstairs or down, everyone has a great view of the stage, upon which sits a self-playing piano. “World Famous Self-Playing Piano!” Self-playing piano The Wurlitzer piano is cool, but what I wouldn’t give to see an actual performance here, like they used to do! It’s been over ten years (to my knowledge, I should say) since this stage saw a performance — not including when it’s been used for the occasional DJ or what have you for special events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. But I mean a live, old time revue, you know? EatsThe menu at The Diamond Horseshoe serves up sandwiches, including hand-carved turkey and an assortment of barbeque, and a Portobello Sandwich for a vegetarian option. Diamond Horseshoe lunch menu The primary side is potato chips, but apple slices are also available. I ordered the Hand-Carved Turkey Sandwich, and the first thing I noticed were the substantial turkey slices peeking out from the bread. It’s a hearty serving. Hand-carved Turkey Sandwich and Potato Chips Hand-carved turkey Accompanied by bacon, lettuce, and tomato, the flavors were fine, but pretty low-key. The one exception was the cranberry mayonnaise topping the turkey. Cranberry Mayonnaise Yes, it really was that pink! Since the cranberry mayo isn’t mentioned on the item description, the Cast Member who took my order made sure to ask if I wanted it first. So, that’s good to know if you’d prefer to top your sandwich with something a little less… pink ;). But the flavor was good, if a little surprising in its strength. I’m accustomed to mild cranberry mayos, similar to that on the delicious Turkey and Brie Sandwich at Artist’s Palette. This one had a stronger tang. Of course I chose the potato chips as my side, because there are few things I like better than thick, seasoned Disney potato chips. Potato Chips The turkey sandwich was okay (and I liked the roll as well), but even with the cranberry and bacon, I still found it to be rather bland. Next time I get a chance to visit, I’ll likely go with the Barbecued Turkey Sandwich (which, the Cast Member informed me, is a pulled meat sandwich). OverallI mention my next visit, because I really do hope to have more opportunities to dine at The Diamond Horseshoe in the future. Of the seasonal offerings, I prefer the Mexican-based menu at Tortuga Tavern. But there is something about the atmosphere of The Diamond Horseshoe that is just so vintage Disney. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that its sister restaurant in Disneyland — The Golden Horseshoe — was so dear to Walt Disney that he and his wife celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary there. I don’t know exactly. But whatever it is, it feels unique and special. But not so special that I wouldn’t like to see them make it even more special by bringing a show back here someday. Just sayin’. 16. This week, one of my favorite photos we shared on the Disney Parks Blog was this shot of Maleficent, who is planned to appear at this year’s Villains Unleashed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Be sure to check out Shawn Slater’s original post for details on the fiendish fun! And speaking of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we also shared a photo look inside Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Oaken’s Frozen Funland, which are part of the fun of the Frozen Summer celebration. 17. As part of the Legends of Frontierland event currently going on at Disneyland, there are some very fun things happening in the wild wild west. I was recently passing by when I was stopped by L.B. himself. He’s got his elixir stand set up and he’s ready to help you solve your life problems! L.B. Ultimate Salesman With lots of personality, L.B. told me all about his product. I’m not going to spoil any of the fun interaction or stories for you, instead I’ll just tell you that there are three elixirs to choose from. According to L.B., “Each one of them something we’d all like more of: Knowledge, Luck & Charm.” Pick Your Poison…. He was such a good salesmen that I had to try all three! Ready to enhance your life???? Bottoms up! I asked L.B. if I drank them all in a row would I get all three things and he said, “Of course!” So down the hatch they went. I started with Knowledge. Described as Tea infused with Lime, Passion Fruit, Vanilla and a zap of Pureed Ginger for smarts, this one was actually quite tasty. Knowledge Up next, I was ready to get lucky! The green Luck elixir is Tea infused with Apple, Cotton Candy, Lime, Lemongrass and Mint all stirred with a lucky horse shoe! I mean come on, I’m totally going to win the lottery now, right? This drink was my favorite of the three. Very sweet, but really fun flavors. Luck Last up was Charm. Thank goodness I’m already married, because this one was yucky! Lite Lemonade infused with Desert Pear, Blackberry, and Tabasco for personality plus! The spice was definitely too overpowering for me, but I am a light weight when it comes to spice. So maybe you’ll enjoy it! Charm L.B. Enterprises is so much fun!!! I’m now obviously a tiny bit more charming, way smarter and SO SO lucky! L.B. is a great character and my guess is that he’d be able to sell anything to anyone! Also, please note that the flavors of all three elixirs are very strong. The small portioning is perfect and really all you need.  At $3 a pop for each serving it is a bit pricey, but it’s really more about the interactive experience. L.B. will be in town as long as the Legends of Frontierland event is going on. As of now, there is no end date published, so head on over and visit before he’s gotta pack up and get outta town! Have you been over to Frontierland to participate in Legends of Frontierland? Have you visited L.B. yet? If so, are you feeling smarter, luckier or more charming???? 20. I know the excitement is building as fellow Disney Parks Blog author Steven Miller continues to share the latest news on Haunted Mansion merchandise materializing in Disney Parks. I can hardly believe that in just a few short weeks, we will be celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Haunted Mansion attraction, one of the crown jewels of Disneyland park. There is so much history behind the attraction itself, its famous and infamous residents, and the storytellers and artists that brought it to life. Over the years, I was fortunate enough to meet some of the Disney Legends and artists behind this attraction and the inception of Disneyland, and it’s something that will live in my heart forever. I know many of you feel the same way. Senior Merchandiser, David Whitaker was no different. “The Haunted Mansion attraction has served as a source of inspiration to many of our artists over the years,” said David. “For the anniversary, I wanted to really focus on the “Art of the Haunted Mansion” therefore allowing each artist to interpret what the attraction means to them, and allowing them to create that in their own signature medium, style and technique. The result is a unique and eclectic collection of characters and artists.” Here’s your first look at some of the original and limited edition pieces of art, sculptures, figurines and more that will materialize August 16 at Disneyana on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland park. Special Tip: Meet some of the artists behind these amazing new pieces, August 16 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Scheduled to appear are artists: Steve Adams, Dave Avanzino, David Bird, Britni Brault, Brian Crosby, Jeremy Fulton, Brian Kesinger, Daniel Killen, Bridget McCarty, Miss Mindy, Mike Peraza, Javier Soto and Yakovetic. For a complete list of artists who have contributed to this 45th Anniversary collection visit DisneyParksMerchandise.com. Also debuting as part of the event from our talented team of Ink & Paint artists is the next in the series from our hand-painted cel collection, featuring none other than the Hatbox Ghost. This piece is an edition size of 300 and will be available framed only. Tip: You will surely go ‘batty’ for the framing on this particular piece. Continue to watch DisneyParksMerchandise.com as we release more information on this piece. What else do the spirited inhabitants of Disney Theme Park Merchandise and the Haunted Mansion have in store for you? You’ll see. Have you decided which pieces you’re simply dying for? 21. At the beginning of June, I shared with you a first look at artwork created for a whole new line of Haunted Mansion authentic merchandise coming this fall to Disney Parks. Today, I’m beyond excited to give you a look at actual items we’ve created using that artwork. The toughest part for me was selecting which of the more than 100 new items to showcase in this story. Here is a look at some of my favorite things. I’ll start with apparel which will include both long and short-sleeved options for women, men and children. I think my favorite new shirts are the ones that resemble the Cast Member costumes from the attraction. Some of the shirts will also include a glow-in-the-dark element. For accessories, Guests will soon find several new jewelry items including awesome bat stanchion earrings. I particularly like the women’s shoes that use the infamous purple wallpaper pattern from the attraction. That wallpaper pattern will also be used on three new Dooney & Bourke items. You may recall the first Dooney & Bourke handbag we released last fall as seen in this story. That original handbag will return with the three new items this fall. All the new items will have a purple colored liner not red like the first incarnation. The home décor team will add to their assortment of amazing things I first shared in February 2013. The original nine items were incredibly detailed and these new items follow in that tradition. This fall, Guests will find new drinkware, dinnerware (plates, bowls, wine glasses), figurines, bookends, cloth napkins, tablemats, and much more. I love the beautiful urn, and the bat stanchion ice cube tray will soon be making ice cubes in my freezer at home. Look for these items in select locations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts in the coming months. Select items will also be carried on our Disney Parks online store. Which items do you want to follow you home? Please share in the comments below. 22. If you’ve been following our MyMagic+ updates, then you know My Disney Experience is the key to personalizing your visit. It’s one of several MyMagic+ benefits and tools now available to guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort. Recently, the team working on My Disney Experience added some new features, including amazing flyovers of our resorts that we wanted to share with readers. The 3-D modeling and a “camera view” from inside the animation gives you a great perspective – from birds eye to 360-degrees – at resort features (pools, recreation, monorail, amenities) and proximity to our parks. Ken Oelerich, a design director on the project, was able to layer creative over Walt Disney World Resort maps and create a 3-D environment with the unique “camera” view. Ken says the team was not limited by where a helicopter could fly to bring the resorts to life for My Disney Experience. Currently, the new flyovers are for Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with Disney’s Polynesian Resort coming soon. Go see the flyovers and other new features at My Disney Experience. 23. One of my favorite places to shop at Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort in California is the WonderGround Gallery. Opened in June 2012, the distinctive and eclectic contemporary art location showcases unique art collections by some incredibly talented artists. I have great news for fans who love this location like I do. A small assortment of WonderGround Gallery items was recently added to the Marketplace Co-Op in Downtown Disney Marketplace. Located just inside the main entrance of the shop, this new addition contains a handful of prints, mugs, magnets, postcards and more from various artists originally featured in the California location. You may recall that the Marketplace Co-Op was designed to be a testing space for new retail products, store concepts and guest experiences. This small addition is a great example of the flexible space inside the location. During my recent visit, I saw a new “Welcome” sign inside the shop (just look at those letters!). I love the “The Village Marketplace Co-Operative” label found on the side of the orange crates. Benches were also added to the center area between the boutiques. If you are unable to visit the Marketplace Co-Op in Florida or the WonderGround Gallery in California, you can find select items from the location on our Disney Parks online store.
