The way to Disney World visitors' hearts may be through their stomachs. Not coincidentally, that also may be a route to their pocketbooks. View the full article -
This week, we kicked off summer with 24 straight hours of fun during our Rock Your Disney Side party at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. During our live coverage of the event, we shared more than 30 stories here on the blog and many more photos. Check out our newest video from the celebration. View the full article

It’s hard to believe it’s almost been four years since the grand opening of “World of Color†at Disney California Adventure park! As an avid fan of the show (I think I saw it at least 50 times that opening summer), the 3 a.m. performance during the Rock Your Disney Side 24-hour event was at top of my must-see list. As darkness fell over the “Kingdom†tonight, Maleficent made a surprise appearance in Fantasyland to greet a few lucky guests. Until beauty sleeps, there is no rest for the wicked! View the full article

That’s it - our 24 hours of Rock Your Disney Side fun just ended here at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. And it ended where it began, at the Railroad Station in Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A. with a wave goodbye from some of your favorite Disney characters. View the full article

Who’s still awake and rockin’ your Disney Side? As our 24-hour celebration is wrapping up on the East Coast, things are still going strong at Disneyland Resort, where dance parties at Sleeping Beauty Castle, Tomorrowland Terrace and Mad T Party in Hollywood Land are continuing through 5 a.m. And coming up at 3 a.m. is our special, late-night showing of “World of Color†at Disney California Adventure park. What a party! How many tastes have you tried? Our unexpected favorites were the Olaf carrot cupcake and the breakfast flatbread pizza at Village Haus. And we saw lots of little girls digging in to the “Frozen†cupcake – vanilla cake with ice blue buttercream and pearl sugar topped with an edible snowflake and a keepsake “Frozen†ring. While most of the treats are just there for 24 hours, a couple will stay on menus: the Olaf souvenir cup at The Lunching Pad and Friar’s Nook, and Mickey’s Kitchen Sink Sundae at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and Plaza Restaurant. But we’re hoping the Poisoned Apple Waffle Sundae might find a spot on the menu at Sleepy Hollow. View the full article

In honor of today’s kickoff to summer, tonight’s “Main Street Electrical Parade†at Magic Kingdom Park will feature a special villains pre-parade - and you can tune into our live feed tonight at 10:45 p.m. to see it for yourself. The pre-parade will proceed down Main Street, U.S.A., just a few minutes before the parade at 11 p.m. View the full article

What Disney Side are you rockin’ today? Does it have a bit of a villainous streak? If so, you’re in luck, as the Disney villains are preparing to take over Magic Kingdom Park! They’ve already crashed the “Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It!†Street Party and are set to roll through the streets in the “It’s Good to Be Bad†Villainous Celebration at 10:45 p.m. and 12:45 a.m. (just ahead of scheduled performances of Disney’s Main Street Electrical Parade). It's getting to be a late night at Magic Kingdom Park – so for a nice, cool break, Steven Miller and I decided to take our Disney Sides to the Tomorrowland Arcade to check out the game selection. Steven and I are both fans of old arcade games like Ms. Pac-Man and pinball machines. Check out our visit. View the full article

We asked you to help us kick off summer by showing your Disney Side, and you sure did! As Mickey Mouse would say, “Oh boy!†This morning, I went for a walk through both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks with Disneyland Chief Photographer Paul Hiffmeyer, who snapped these photos of some of our favorites. It was definitely good to be bad as the 24-hour Rock Your Disney Side event transitioned to night. Villains took over as guests sporting Maleficent’s magnificent horn headdress made a big splash along with gangs of pirates and cruel queens. Dastardly looked dapper and evil looked fierce. Which look would you choose? Let us know your favorites in the comments section. View the full article

The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in New Fantasyland officially opens in just a few days at Magic Kingdom Park. Since I’m out at the Rock Your Disney Side 24-hour event today, I figured it was a great time to highlight some “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs†merchandise we currently offer in anticipation of that opening on May 28. Main Street U.S.A. looked more like a fantasy fashion runway as guests flocked to Magic Kingdom Park to rock their Disney Side during the 24-hour kick-off to summer at Disney Parks. Just like a real fashion show, this costume parade had a touch of the whimsical, a touch of the avant garde as heroes faced off with villains to prove who’s truly the fairest of the them all.
