Ten extraordinary high school seniors were each surprised at their Orange County, California schools with an in-class visit from Disney Ambassador Megan Navarette – and a $7,500 scholarship from the Disneyland Resort!   16. More than 5,000 runners came in search of the Yeti during the Expedition Everest Challenge this past weekend. Participants braved the elements and conquered their fears as they ran 3.1 miles throughout Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The nighttime adventure included obstacles like jumping over hay bails and crawling under nets. After completing the 5K runners went back into the theme park for a scavenger hunt. Once participants solved four clues they were allowed to cross the finish line and receive their commemorative Compass finisher medal. It was a real “wild” night. View the full article

  23. One thing my fiancée has taught me is that having the right accessories can make a good outfit even better (that probably explains why I keep buying her tiki-themed handbags). Soon, she and other Guests will find many awesome accessories and more at Cherry Tree Lane, a new boutique coming to the Marketplace Co-Op at Downtown Disney Marketplace. The name of this high-end, fashion boutique was inspired by the street name where the Banks family resides in Disney’s “Mary Poppins.” As it turns out, there will be several nods to this classic live action film in the location.   25. Earlier today we looked back on the 10th anniversary of one of the most popular attractions at the Disneyland Resort, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. For 10 years, guests have been dropping into the fifth dimension at Disney California Adventure park. Having experienced the attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort, I anxiously awaited the opening of the attraction on this coast. I was so excited that I was here for the opening event on May 4, 2004. In honor of the anniversary, let’s continue “The Magic of Disney Parks Storytelling” by checking in at the Hollywood Tower Hotel. View the full article
