If you’re a regular Disney Parks Blog reader, you’re certainly familiar with one of our guests’ favorite places at Magic Kingdom Park: the Central Plaza area between the end of Main Street and Cinderella Castle. Well, we’ve just begun a project that’ll make it even better. We’re adding several new elements to the area, including sculpted gardens, additional pathways, expanded restaurant seating and even a special viewing area for fireworks and other performances. WHAT: The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival returns Wednesday with almost 100 topiaries on display in the theme park's gardens. Also returning: the butterfly garden, play areas for kids and the eating options introduced last year. The sessions with HGTV stars and the Flower Power concert series get underway next Friday. I’ve got some updates to share from out of the rabbit hole and under the sea today about two temporary attraction closures coming up next month at the Disneyland Resort. First, Alice in Wonderland at Disneyland park will close at the end of the operating day on March 9 for an extended refurbishment. In addition to routine maintenance, minor changes will be made to the exterior of the attraction. Alice in Wonderland is scheduled to reopen summer 2014. View the full article

This week’s “All in the Details†photos were shot in Prince Eric’s Village, a small area that lies just opposite Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid attraction in New Fantasyland. One feature of the cartographer’s shop is a large seafarer’s map on the back wall that features plenty of intricate detail. View the full article
