To me, one of the most magical experiences at Disneyland park is watching the Rivers of America come to life during the nighttime spectacular, “Fantasmic!†You can’t help getting swept away watching Mickey Mouse as he commands water, lasers and fireworks in the epic finale. To make the most of this experience, I’ve got a few tips to share with you today: View the full article

I’ve long associated Epcot with a variety of wonderful scents. A sniff of an orange, a rose or a campfire reminds me of my three favorite Future World pavilions – Horizons, Journey Into Imagination and Spaceship Earth respectively. In World Showcase, there are also many delightful things to smell, from the signature restaurants (hello, Cheddar Cheese Soup from Le Cellier in Canada Pavilion) to the several merchandise locations that offer a variety of fragrances. I recently strolled around the “world†in search of the perfumes, lotions and more you can take home or give as gifts. View the full article

As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, I thought it would be fitting to highlight the only married couple who have each been honored with their own windows on Main Street, U.S.A., at Disneyland park – Marc and Alice Davis. Married in 1956, the couple is said to have enjoyed a “Disney fairy-tale-romance-come-true†for 44 years until Marc’s death in 2000. Their windows, which are a tribute to their outstanding contributions to Disneyland, are side-by-side just north of the Main Street Cinema as a representation of their lifelong partnership. Remember our post featuring a real fairytale engagement right in the Magic Kingdom? We talked about promises and the commitment a promise must survive in order to withstand all that it encounters. Sadly, often times the promises we make are broken, life gets in the way and we lose sight of what truly matters. But there are those that show us it can be done, restoring hope for each of us. As we continue our popular series on the history of the monorails at Disney Parks, Erin Glover asked me to step in and tell you the stories of the Mark IV and VI monorails at the Walt Disney World Resort. When Walt Disney World Resort opened in 1971, it also brought with it a new era in monorail trains, the Mark IV. The nearly 3-mile monorail track provided a means of transportation for guests visiting Magic Kingdom Park. View the full article
