  2. While recently roaming the halls of Disney Theme Park Merchandise headquarters, I visited with Julie Young who is now the merchandiser for dolls, plush and Duffy the Disney Bear. Julie and I have been working together for more than 10 years (much of that time was spent together on the Disney pin team).   10. In a tradition started by Walt Disney himself in 1959, the Disneyland Resort hosted this year’s Rose Bowl teams in advance of their New Year’s Day game in Pasadena, Calif. Players and coaches from Stanford Cardinal and Michigan State Spartans were celebrated in a special ceremony this afternoon in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle in Disneyland park.   24. Thousands of people have been captivated by the story of the Triquis kids basketball team from Oaxaca, Mexico. Despite playing without shoes - a luxury that is difficult to afford in their remote community - this team of determined athletes out-scored, out-passed and out-played more than 50 other teams to become the champions of the International Festival of Mini-Basketball in Argentina this October.
