  1. Where can you find the BEST Universal Orlando snacks across the parks? Universal Orlando That’s what we are answering! If you’re looking for the greatest snacks to try in all of Universal Orlando this year, then congrats, you’ve made it to the right place! We’ve done the work for you to make your trip to Universal Orlando delicious. Let’s go! Epic Universe We can’t rank Epic Universe lands by their snack selections yet, since it doesn’t open until May 22, 2025. But we can absolutely tell you what we’re looking forward to munching on once we’re finally here! ©Universal In Celestial Park at The Oak & Star Tavern, we can look forward to some hearty barbecue or Pizza Moon. What do you think “Pizza Moon” is gonna specialize in? If you’re in the mood for something more sugary, you’ll be able to swing by Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets. Moon Pizza In the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, there’ll be no shortage of French treats and delights to enjoy here, thanks to the K. Rammelle confectionery. Plus, don’t forget to pick up the iconic Butterbeer from the Bièraubuerre cart. Speaking of Butterbeer… did we mention the Butterbeer Crepe coming? Because it is and we are definitely excited to try this! Butterbeer-Crepe In Super Nintendo World, we’ve already got a pretty good idea of what the Toadstool Cafe is gonna serve up for quick meals and snacks since we’ve already seen two other Toadstool Cafes open up in Universal Japan and Universal Hollywood. Along with Toadstool Cafe, you can pay a visit to The Bubbly Barrel in Donkey Kong Country, which will offer sweet treats and refreshing drinks all inside a gigantic barrel. Yoshi’s Snack Island and Turbo Boost Treats will each offer video game-themed “treats, snacks, and beverages,” as well. Mario-Burger ©Universal Orlando Resort In How To Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, you’ve also got the racing-themed Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel food stand, which will be located near the Viking Training Camp. Thawfest Platter at Mead Hal ©Universal Orlando Resort And FINALLY, over in Dark Universe, the snack-worthy location is gonna be De Lacey’s Cottage — a snack stand that pays tribute to Frankenstein’s Monster — where guests can find monstrous munchies like ice cream, cinnamon bread, twisted taters, and more. ©Universal Orlando Resort Islands of Adventure One of our new favorite things to try at Croissant Moon Bakery is a croffle! A croffle is the Frankenstein monster of croissants and waffles — combined to create something delicious. This snack is tasty and super unique. For something sweet, there’s the cookies and cream croffle — topped with whipped cream, cookie crumbles, and chocolate syrup for $8. For something savory, there’s the pizza croffle — topped with marinara, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni for just $10. Found near the Spider-Man Shop is a snack stand that serves potato knish. This is essentially a flaky pastry filled with mashed potatoes. It certainly has that perfect crunch-to-soft texture ratio with PLENTY of potato filling so you get lots of that pillowy/buttery goodness with each bite. It tends to come with a side of sour cream too for an extra flavor profile to add to the mix! The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man Let’s talk about snacks in the Wizarding World, there’s Honeyduke’s — the sweet shop where you can pick up confections straight outta the Harry Potter series: like chocolate frogs, Bertie Bots Every Flavour Beans, fizzing whiz bees, and the likes. There’s also a display case where you can grab other freshly made treats like cauldron cakes and various flavors of fudge. Honeyduke’s Then, you’ve got The Three Broomsticks — which is mostly known for being a quick service location with hearty British pub fare, but you can get a variety of snackier options at this place, too — like butterbeer potted cream, butterbeer ice cream, or maybe even a kids portion of the Fish and Chips. Butterbeer Ice Cream This one is a favorite… over at the Green Eggs and Ham snack window in Seuss Landing, you’ll find some great snacks. The loaded tot varieties here are impressive. There’s a buffalo chicken option, a pizza option, a straight-up green eggs and ham option. Most importantly, there’s a Who Hash option — where you can eat your tots straight outta a Who Hash tin can. While you’d think this would make the white melty cheese, onion, and corn beef toppings pretty unevenly distributed, there are toppings all the way through the can — and not just loaded up at the top. Universal Universal Studios Over in Minions Land has no shortage of novelty snacks. You can find items like… the banana-flavored popcorn from Pop A Nana and specialty Ice Pops from Freeze Ray Pops. While at Minion Cafe you’ll find desserts — like the Fluffy Unicorn Cupcake, the Minion Swiss Roll, and Otto’s Pet Rock. Minion’s Land At Florean Fortescue’s you will find the BEST ice cream in Universal Orlando. Florean specializes in both soft serve and hand-scooped ice cream. And while both are REALLY tasty choices that you can’t really go wrong with, it’s hard to NOT choose the soft serve option simply because of those ribbon swirls that’ll capture the flavor of whatever you’re ordering. Huckleberry ice cream Right outside of Diagon Alley — in front of King’s Cross Station — is where you’ll find the beloved Jacket Potatoes, over at the London Taxi Hut. Here, you can get jacket potatoes topped with Shepherd’s Pie featuring lamb, beef, and an assortment of veggies, broccoli and cheese, or beans and cheese too. But there’s also a secret menu item here that costs LESS than the OTHER options listed on the actual menu. While all the other potatoes cost around $10 each, you can always order a PLAIN baked potato with that soft butter on the side for just over $7 instead. Diagon Alley You can also find Cafe La Bamba inside Hollywood — the Horchata Cuarto Leches Cake is an original item you won’t find anywhere else around the park — made with vanilla cake soaked in horchata and topped with dulce de leche! Cafe La Bamba Central Park Crepes has made-to-order sweet and savory crepes on the menu. Depending on when you visit you might find a seasonal crepe option here as well. In the past, we’ve seen seasonal crepes like… the roasted turkey or the Croque Monsieur. 5. Disney snackers, REJOICE! An iconic Disney World snack has made a triumphant return! Troll Horn We’re constantly watching Disney World change menus with dishes, offerings, and recipes. And while we’ve seen Disney World offer up some of our most beloved snacks and been around long enough to see them disappear from the menus (sometimes indefinitely), it’s a HUGE deal when we get to see them return from an extended hiatus! A fan favorite snack has reappeared in EPCOT and we couldn’t wait to tell you all about it! If you’ve ever had someone mention Disney World to you and your immediate first thought was unforgettable Disney snacks, you’re in good company with us. We’ve seen Disney World snacks come and go from menus for over 15 years now and sometimes when they leave without a return date, these beloved snacks are sorely missed. EPCOT’s World Showcase is certainly one of our favorite places to “snack around the World” when we’re visiting Disney World. EPCOT We’ve been known to rave about the treats at Kringla Bakerie og Kafé in Norway for years, especially over their iconic School Bread. But, that’s not the only pastry that’s been the apple of our eye for some time! Kringla Bakerie og Kafé If you’ve not walked into Kringla Bakerie for sometime special, then you’re missing out. Chances are, you’ve probably walked by it several times over your last few Disney World trips due to its demure storefront but once you step inside, you’re likely to submit to the sweet pastry and coffee smells that fill the air. What’s this? So, on a recent trip out to pick up a treat around EPCOT, we happened to spot one of our favorites return to the menu! We’re so pleased to announce that the Troll Horn has officially returned to Disney World. This little pastry is made of a chocolate cream-filled pastry shell with coffee crunch and you can pick one up for $4.79. Troll Horn And, we couldn’t contain our excitement to see this little guy return! We haven’t seen this in Kringla Bakerie since 2022 reportedly due to a supply issue, so the fact that it’s made a valiant return to the bakerie is really something. So if you’ve yet to try one of these delicious offering, allow us to enlighten you with its goodness. It’s BACK! This flaky pastry horn is adorned with sugar crystals sprinkled all over the outer crunchy crust but the real decadence is on the inside. The sweet chocolate cream that fills the inside is so fluffy and rich and it’s inside of a thicker coating of milk chocolate that only ups the ante with the chocolatey flavor. If you’ve ever wanted the best walkable chocolate pastry, this one easily makes the top of our shortlist. Inside of the horn Plus, for a snack that’s so enjoyable less than $5 at Disney World, we’re considering it a huge win in the budget department! We do have to admit though we didn’t happen to get one on our first go around even though we were in line very close to the bakerie’s opening, however, the Cast Members working behind the pastry counter told us to come back later in the afternoon as they were expecting some more. All that to say, if at first you don’t succeed in getting a Troll Horn, don’t get too discouraged and it’s certainly worth a second trip back to ask! In case it’s not super obvious, we’re thrilled to have the Troll Horn back in our snack arsenal for our next trip out to EPCOT and we’re begging you to try one for yourself on your next visit, too. 7. There are tons of different treats you can get around Disney World. Some are classic, like a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar or a churro, while others are a little more unique. So iconic We love trying all the new snacks that are released around the Disney World parks, but we have to admit, sometimes we see popular snacks outside of the parks and we expect Disney to be the first to jump on the trend. For example, we’ve heard SO much about Dubai Chocolate these past few months, and yet Disney hasn’t released any sort of snack to take advantage of the popularity. If you’re on TikTok often, you’ve probably seen something called Dubai Chocolate go viral in the past few months. However, it actually goes back MUCH further than that! In case you haven’t seen it, we’ll catch you up — a video was posted in 2023 of Dubai Chocolate, actually called a Pistachio Kataifi Chocolate Bar, and it went totally viral (like 6 million likes viral). Since the surge of interest in the treat, many US retailers have begun attempting to make or bring in their own version, like Costco, for example. With it being as popular as it is, we expected Disney to hop on the trend right away…but they haven’t. It’s been months that the treat has been viral, and we haven’t seen Disney release anything new that has a similar flavor profile. ©People However, it’s totally possible that Disney IS working on a similar treat, but they could still be in the testing/creation phase. We could also see a treat pop up at this year’s Food and Wine Festival in EPCOT, which could be a great way to test out a treat that may not be for everything with lesser stakes — instead of buying ingredients to bake and sell large quantities of a new dessert like this in a prominent store, they could place it at a festival booth and see how it does in smaller quantities first to gauge interest. ©Today Show While we’ve seen Disney hop on many similar food trends in the past, as this treat has potentially a smaller interested audience, Disney may also choose to sit this one out due to the cost to get the ingredients, because they’re concerned about allergies, or that there isn’t enough demand for making an entirely new treat like this. Treats in the Main Street Confectionery We’re hoping to see Dubai Chocolate make its way into the parks at some point, since we’d love to try Disney’s version of the snack, but until then, we’ll continue to try all the other new desserts and items that land in the park. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest food reviews around the parks! REVIEW: Why You Can Never Trust THIS Snack in Disney World Need Disney Restaurant Advice? 9. Meeting Disney characters has always been one of the most important, and magical parts of a visit to Disney property. In addition to meeting characters in the Disney World theme parks, you can also meet them at the hotels! Hello, Ariel and Eric! However, those visits are sporadic, and they are a surprise. There’s no schedule for when the Character Caravan, as it’s called, will pop up at your resort. But we have big news! Recently, Disney has begun offering scheduled character meet & greets at at least two of Walt Disney World’s hotel properties: The Port Orleans French Quarter Resort and the Wilderness Lodge Resort. Signage for the Port Orleans offering appeared first, indicating that Disney characters (the sign doesn’t specify which characters or how many) will be appearing in the hotel lobby on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 10:20 AM. Character Meet and Greet sign at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Signage at Fort Wilderness appeared soon after, with similar verbiage, advertising character availability on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays between 2:30 PM and 3:20 PM. Wilderness Lodge sign This is a huge deal! Now you know when the characters are coming, and chances are, there will be a much shorter line than in the parks! Hey, Mickey! This is a potential game changer announcement in that it means that guests choosing to spend a day at their hotel – – or even some who don’t have park tickets at all – – can meet characters! Stay tuned to DFB for more on this program as it potentially rolls out to further Walt Disney World hotels! 6 Unfortunate Things That Happen Every Time We Stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Hotel Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 10. We have an important EPCOT update for you! The park will be closing early one day in May for a private event, and we don’t want you to be caught by surprise. EPCOT The parks sometimes have adjusted hours for special events or buy-outs, so it is always important to check the Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date information for your trip. On May 21st, 2025, EPCOT will be closing early for a private event that begins at 7:30 PM. The private event is a buy-out for the SAP Sapphire & ASUG Annual Conference Orlando. EPCOT EPCOT will likely close even earlier than 7:30 PM to provide enough time to empty the park and prepare for the private event. However, we don’t know the exact time yet as the park hours for May 21st haven’t been posted yet. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind On the final night of the SAP conference, there will be a celebration night at EPCOT. The buy-out will take place from 7:30 PM until 11:30 PM. The celebration night will even feature a private concert from the Zac Brown Band! Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure If you plan on being at Disney World on May 21st, it is a good idea to make note of the early closing for EPCOT! You can either choose a different park to go to that day, plan to park-hop after EPCOT, or take advantage of an early evening if you do end up in EPCOT. Journey of Water While we are talking about EPCOT hours, we have another reminder for you, too! EPCOT will be opening late on April 6th due to the runDisney Springtime Surprise Race. On April 6th, EPCOT won’t open until 10 AM (Early Entry will be at 9:30 AM for Disney World hotel guests). EPCOT Remember that park hours can be found on the Disney World website and the My Disney Experience app, so you won’t be caught by surprise when a park opens late or closes early! 11. There are TONS of different options when it comes to dining in Disneyland, so how are you supposed to know what to choose? Red Rose Taverne Luckily, you’ve got friends like us here at DFB to keep you updated on all the latest and greatest eats around the parks and beyond. We recently headed over to a Fantasyland staple at Disneyland to check out a new menu item… but we’re not so sure you need to be running to grab it yourself. Red Rose Taverne is a charming quick service spot located in the heart of Fantasyland, themed after The Beauty and the Beast. We recently stopped by to check out the new Taverne Triple Cheeseburger with Bacon and all we have to say is… wow. This thing is made with three patties, three slices of cheese, bacon, grilled onions, pickles, and burger sauce with a side for $17.49. But, how does it taste? Triple Cheeseburger with Bacon Alright, so, this was good — but not anything special. It’s certainly one of the more filling options available at Disneyland’s quick-service restaurants, so we’d only get this if you’re super hungry or are looking to split it, because we got full after only eating about half of it. Lots of onions As is typical with Disney fast food burgers, the patties were on the dry side, but they weren’t overly offensive. They had a nice peppery seasoning that went well with the tangy burger sauce flavor. The pickles didn’t add too much other than a little dill flavor, but we did enjoy the onions — even if there were a LOT of them. If you’re onion-averse, we’d consider ordering something else or ordering this without the onions. A decent option Would we get this again? Probably not, unless we were splitting it with a friend or were absolutely ravenous. It’s certainly not the best quick-service meal available at Disneyland right now, but if you like fast food burgers, you might like this! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more snacks to review at Disneyland! Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more. 13. You’ve been having the time of your life at Disney World, but then you start to feel your tummy rumble, and you know you don’t have much time before it turns hangry. And your tummy doesn’t want just anything. No. It wants a yummy snack for less than $10. DOLE Whip Sure, Disney food can get on the expensive side, but there is SO much food that is available at a more reasonable price. That’s why I am sharing my 12 favorite Disney World snacks that will cost you less than $10. Before we get too far into this list, I want to emphasize that these are my personal favorites, and just because I like them doesn’t automatically mean everyone will. I have eaten lots and lots of Disney food, and I would like to think this list is a pretty good representation of some delicious, inexpensive snacks. If there is something you love that I didn’t include, we would love to hear from you in the comments! Magic Kingdom Hushpuppies from Columbia Harbour House ($4.99) These are one of my favorite snacks to get in Magic Kingdom for several reasons. One is that they are super tasty! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with lots of corn flavor. I personally love grabbing a container of honey mustard to dip them in, but that is optional. Hushpuppies Reason number two is that these hushpuppies give me a reason to stop by Columbia Harbour House for a quick break. Head up the stairs for additional air-conditioned seating. If you are lucky, you can even grab a seat that overlooks Magic Kingdom for some wonderful people-watching. Pepper Jack Pretzel from Cheshire Cafe ($7.99) This Pepper Jack Pretzel takes pretzels to the next level, and I am here for it! Just imagine a pretzel stuffed with gooey pepper jack cheese, and you are imagining this snack. They are addictive and delicious. Pepper Jack Pretzel If you are looking for a stuffed pretzel with a sweet filling, the Cream Cheese Warm Stuffed Pretzel from The Lunching Pad is also fantastic! Ham and Gruyere Tart from Gaston’s Tavern ($9.49) What’s not to love about this tart? It is full of carbs, cheese, and finished off with some ham. While it is on the higher side as far as price goes, I am a massive fan of this snack. Ham and Gruyere Tart It is a good portion, so it will help curb that hunger for quite a bit! You can pair it with the Crème Brûlée Croissant for a bit of sweet and savory action. Cheeseburger Spring Rolls from the Spring Roll Cart ($9.50) We talk about these spring rolls A LOT here at DFB, and there’s a reason. These little nuggets of happiness are wonderful; I just wish they were cheaper. The spring roll is filled with a beefy blend that mimics a cheeseburger, and then you get a dipping sauce similar to a Big Mac sauce. Cheeseburger Spring Rolls You can also grab Pepperoni Pizza Spring Rolls, but I think the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls are better. I always have a bit of a hard time with the price as it is steep, but they really are delicious! Orange Cream Soft-serve Cup from Sunshine Tree Terrace ($5.29) I know, I know, how could the Orange Cream Soft-serve make the list but not DOLE Whip!? DOLE Whip is tasty, but if I had to choose, I would go for the Orange Cream Soft-serve Cup 9 out of 10 times. Orange Cream Soft-serve Cup Something about the combination of the fresh orange flavor and the creamy vanilla is just SO good. I can’t guarantee that everyone will like the Orange Cream better than the DOLE Whip, but maybe give both a try and see which one you like better. The Best $5 Treat in Magic Kingdom EPCOT Caramel Apple Butter Bar from Karamell-Küche ($5.79) We talk a lot about the Caramel Butter Bar here at DFB, but I think the Caramel Apple Butter Bar is an amazing remix of the classic treat. This bar has everything there is to love about the Caramel Butter Bar, with the addition of apple. Caramel Apple Butter Bar It is full of buttery goodness, silky caramel, and just the right amount of apple flavor. The crumble-like topping on the top is the perfect finishing touch! I have seriously had dreams about this treat. While I included this snack as being from Karamell-Küche, you can also find it over in Big Top Sounveirs in Magic Kingdom! Macaroni & Cheese from Regal Eagle Smokehouse ($4.99) I am a sucker for cheese. Especially if the cheese in question is macaroni & cheese. While I will eat pretty much any macaroni & cheese put in front of me, there are a few places in Disney World with way better mac & cheese. One of those places is Regal Eagle Smokehouse. Macaroni & Cheese I love their mac and cheese. It is cheesy and gooey without being soupy. Plus, they sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for a fantastic crispy texture. And, you can make it even better by grabbing some of the BBQ sauces to put on top. They add lots of yummy flavor and you can mix and match to your taste preferences! Quiche Lorraine from Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie ($7.25) Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie has a lot of great options for under $10. One of my favorites is the Quiche Lorraine, but take some time to look at the other options while you are in line. The Quiche Lorraine is a great-sized snack filled with ham and gruyere. Quiche Lorraine from Les Halles I love the flaky crust and the cheesy filling. Plus, I think ham and gruyere are a winning combination. It is a great deal too! Pastry Assortment from Oasis Sweets & Sips ($6.75) At Oasis Sweets & Sips, you can choose from various Moroccan pastries. For just $6.75, you can choose three of them! (Or if you are especially hungry, you can grab more.) Some of my favorites include the Pistachio Baklava, Flogeres, and the Kataifi, but you really can’t go wrong with any of the pastries. Pastries from Oasis Sweets & Sips Also, the Frozen Mint Tea at Oasis Sweet & Sips is one of my favorite drinks in EPCOT. You can get it with or without alcohol, depending on your mood! 3 EPCOT Restaurants the Experts Refuse to Book Disney’s Animal Kingdom Barbacoa Beef on Baked Macaroni & Cheese at Eight Spoon Cafe ($7.29) We are back with some more macaroni & cheese! We are at Eight Spoon Cafe this time for their Barbacoa Beef Macaroni & Cheese. There is so much to love about this dish. The cheesy macaroni, the creamy sauce, the crunchy fried onions, and the tender barbacoa beef. Barbacoa Beef on Baked Macaroni & Cheese This dish has so much flavor, and you will be ready for your next Animal Kingdom adventure. If you are looking for another delicious macaroni and cheese option in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, I am a HUGE fan of the Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork from Flame Tree BBQ. Get it with a side of cornbread for even more deliciousness. However, the macaroni and cheese costs $12.99, so I couldn’t officially include it. The Most Expensive Restaurant in Animal Kingdom You Should SKIP (and the One You’ve Gotta Try) Disney’s Hollywood Studios Arugula Farro Salad from ABC Commissary ($4.29) If you are looking for something that includes veggies, then I think you need to try the Arugula Farro Salad. It has a delicious dressing, and I love all the textures inside the salad. Arugula Farro Salad You can also get it as a side for your meal from ABC Commissary. I have definitely stopped by ABC Commissary just to order the Arugula Farro Salad, though. Bavarian Pretzel from Baseline Tap House ($10) Okay, this one is right at $10 (I know, I know, not technically under $10), but it is delicious and SO close to under $10 that I had to include it. It is a large pretzel served with beer cheese fondue and spicy mustard. Bavarian Pretzel with spicy mustard and beer cheese fondue You can order it with a drink from Baseline Taphouse and enjoy some relaxation. The dips are the perfect complement to the pretzel, and it is one of my favorite snacks in Hollywood Studios. 4 Disney’s Hollywood Studios Restaurants Where We Promise Your Lunch Will Cost Less Than That $18 Viral Big Mac Meal BONUS: Popcorn Refill ($2.19) I needed to include this because it is probably one of the snacks I purchase most in the parks. I always bring my popcorn bucket with me and stop for a refill whenever I want something quick to eat. You can find places to refill in all four parks! Refillable Popcorn Bucket Technically, it’s not under $10 if you buy the souvenir bucket, too, but if you like popcorn, I highly recommend investing in a popcorn bucket at the beginning of your trip. I think it is worth the initial cost to have a cheap snack throughout your visit! You can also grab one of the specialty buckets and get discounted refills. Although, some of them are a bit harder to carry around or more difficult to eat out of. Prince Charming Carousel Popcorn Bucket If your mouth is watering just looking at all those delicious snacks (I know mine is, at least), then that is your sign to plan a Disney World vacation! However, planning a Disney World vacation can be a bit overwhelming. We are here to help at DFB with LOTS of resources, but you can also contact Small World Vacations for additional help planning your vacation. 17. Disney World is going through a whirlwind of changes this year, and we’re keeping up with all of them to make sure you’re feeling as prepared as possible for your upcoming trip. Animal Kingdom Lots of changes are particularly taking place in Animal Kingdom, where DinoLand U.S.A. is going away to make way for Pueblo Esperanza, the new Tropical Americas section, but there’s another attraction getting ready to take its final bow as well. In just a few days, It’s Tough to Be A Bug will officially play its final performance. On March 16th, 2025, It’s Tough To Be A Bug will play its final shows in the Tree of Life Theatre. The official closing date for this attraction is the following day, March 17th. It’s Tough to be a Bug This 4D show features characters from the beloved Pixar film A Bug’s Life. The storyline follows Flick as he brings the audience into the theatre to show them a bug talent show, in a way. However, Hopper takes over and turns it on the audience, saying the reason it’s tough to be a bug is because of humans! Yes, this show is terrifying The show includes lots of jump-scare moments — spiders drop from the ceiling, you get blasted with air and water randomly, sometime jabs you in the back, your ankles get brushed by “bugs,” and so much more. It certainly hasn’t always been everyone’s cup of tea, not to mention we’ve seen many crying kids escorted out of the theatre by their unsuspecting parents, and many Disney fans are happy to see it go. Others, however, are devastated to see such an iconic attraction close its doors. The Hopper animatronic However, this theatre won’t be empty for long! It’s Tough to Be A Bug will be replaced with a new 4D show called Zootopia: Better Zoogether! We don’t know too much about the show just yet, but we do know it’ll feature some of our favorite characters from the films, like Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, and it’ll “take guests on an adventure through different biomes seen in the film.” ©Disney Originally, this show had an opening timeline of Winter 2025, but we’re thinking it’ll be delayed a bit since It’s Tough to Be A Bug is closing later than we originally expected to see. While part of us is sad to see such a historical attraction go, we’re looking forward to seeing what the new attraction will bring to the park — be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney World news! 18. Mufasa’s reign begins in a few weeks! ©Disney We’ve known for a bit that Mufasa: The Lion King would be coming to Disney+ in March, thanks to Dana Walden, the co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, confirmed the “late March” timeline at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference earlier this month. However, we didn’t have a specific date… UNTIL NOW! In an exclusive reveal to People, Disney confirmed that the film — which has made over $700 million at the worldwide box office — will premiere on the Disney+ streaming service on Wednesday, March 26th. The official synopsis for the film, which finished in the top 7 worldwide in 2024, reads“Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, Mufasa: The Lion King enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny—their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.” ©Disney The film stars Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Tiffany Boone, Donald Glover, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Blue Ivy Carter and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, with new songs from Lin-Manuel Miranda. ©Disney Mufasa: The Lion King, the 2024 prequel/sequel hybrid to 2019’s The Lion King, is going to hit Disney+ on March 26th! 21. Disney World is a busy place! Welcome to Disney World! There is a lot of change happening in the parks right now. Magic Kingdom has some major upcoming changes, the Muppets are moving in Hollywood Studios, and the Iguanadon is packing her bags. While those are some pretty major changes coming in the future, there are some smaller updates that might impact your Disney trip starting next month! The Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course is getting a bit of an update! The putt-putt spot located by Blizzard Beach will begin a phased refurbishment from April 28th until June 16th, 2025. This fun activity is overlooked by most Disney World guests but we have a kinda weird obsession with it! Winter Summerland Mini Golf The mini golf spot has two sides that guests can enjoy, the Winter course and the Summer course! The entire spot is themed to a Very Merry Vacation spot because Santa Clause designed it. According to Disney, Santa discovered the snow in Florida (Blizzard Beach) so he decided to build a vacation destination for his elves. It was split into two sides so they could choose if they wanted warm or cold weather. Winter Summerland Mini Golf While the mini golf course is undergoing this major refurbishment, it won’t be completely closed for those two months! The course will continue to operate with only one side open at a time so guests can still enjoy the friendly competition that is vacation putt-putt. Winter Summerland Course During the refurbishment, you won’t be able to reserve tee times (however, we don’t really consider that a necessity anyway.) Now most people are skipping the putt putt during their Disney vacation, and we get that, but this is a great activity for families who are having a break from the parks or want something fun to do before your Disney Springs dinner. Holiday Decorations at the course! If you really need a spot with two 18-hole putt-putt courses open simultaneously, you can always check out Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf. It’s also a miniature golf option in Disney World located near the Swan and Dolphin Resort. These courses feature more Disney themeing and fun interactive elements, but you can’t go wrong with either option. Fantasia Mini Golf Course This is just one of a few updates happening around Disney World that could impact your trip! 22. Disney Imagineering just shared a close-up look at the Cars area ride testing! This new Cars area will be coming to Magic Kingdom and will feature two attractions. ©Disney While we are still waiting for more details on the timeline for this new area that will replace Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America, it is always cool to get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into creating a new area. The dirt track is located in Florida and provides a controlled environment to carry out various tests. Imagineers are using the dirt track to recreate elements of actual off-roading and incorporating those elements to tell a story. They are trying to make every bump, turn, and movement as fun as possible. ©Disney We are seeing a lot of bumps in our future at this new Cars attraction! However, it is precisely what Disney promised when they first announced this new area. During the announcement, they said we would race through mountains on wild terrain while dodging geysers and splashing through mud holes. ©Disney In addition to getting a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the track, we also got a first look at the ride vehicles for this new attraction. Each ride vehicle will have its own personality, along with its own name and number. ©Disney But don’t worry, if lots of bumps and uneven terrain isn’t your idea of a fun time, there will also be another attraction in the new Cars area. This attraction will be geared toward “smaller racers” but will still be lots of fun for the whole family! ©Disney If you want to plan your next Disney World vacation with as few bumps as possible, you need to contact Small World Vacations. 23. It’s no secret that EPCOT has a lot of fantastic dining options. We talk about our favorites all the time. Thanks to the World Showcase, you can — quite literally — dine and snack around the world in EPCOT. World Showcase BUT let’s just take a moment to talk about those restaurants that we just don’t ever book, maybe because we don’t like their atmosphere, or we think they’re overrated or overpriced, or we just don’t think the food is that great. We’ve got three to tell you about that we just don’t go to, and we’re going to tell you why. Now let us preface this by saying that everyone has their own individual tastes and priorities. But overall, these are restaurants we don’t think are worth the time and money, or even a Disney Dining Plan table service credit. Space 220 Now, don’t get us wrong, the concept of Space 220 is VERY cool. Basically, to visit this restaurant, you take an elevator TO SPACE so you can dine IN SPACE (and the theming is very well done). But you’re also subjected to a pre fixe menu, which is pricey, and probably not worth it just for the experience of dining in space itself. The view is cool, but the rest? Well, not so much. HOWEVER, with that being said…if you can get yourself a spot in the Space 220 lounge, you get the very same experience without having to eat a three-course meal. All you need to do is order something from the lounge menu, which could be food, drinks, or both. It’s a lot cheaper and you’re not inundated with so much food that you can’t possibly eat it all. Space 220 Lounge vs. Space 220 Restaurant Coral Reef Restaurant Okay, if you’ve followed us for a while, you pretty much know how we feel about Coral Reef. It’s just not that great, and you’re paying premium prices for food that isn’t, well, that premium. Seafood is always dicey in a theme park, but here, it’s just…well, yeah. Maybe that’s why we recommend eating anything BUT the fish at this restaurant. Coral Reef Restaurant If you’re craving fish in EPCOT, you might just want to head on over to the U.K. Pavilion and get some proper Fish and Chips. We’re STILL Confused About Our Meal at This EPCOT Restaurant Nine Dragons Nine Dragons is another restaurant we really want to be better, but it just doesn’t impress us. It is a place to get TRULY spicy food in Disney World, so if you’re looking for some spice that’s WAY beyond Disney spice, this is where to find it. Honestly, though, your local Chinese restaurant is probably going to be a better — and cheaper — choice. Meal at Nine Dragons Otherwise, we’ve found much of the food bland here, even after the restaurant changed up its menu and added more adventurous options. It’s a no for us, dawg. REVIEW: This EPCOT Restaurant Has a Flashy Location and a New Menu, But We Still Can’t Recommend It The good news is that there are a LOT of great EPCOT restaurants we can recommend. Via Napoli has some of the BEST pizza in Disney World. Le Cellier is hard to get a reservation for because, yes, it is that good (just go for the cheese soup, y’all). Spice Road Table is terribly underrated and a great spot to grab something more unique. Y’all KNOW we love Garden Grill — it’s one of our favorite character dining experiences in all of Disney World. There are plenty of good choices with LOADS of variety, so you don’t have to waste your time at a spot that isn’t worth it. Stay tuned to DFB for more. We’ve Eaten at Every EPCOT Restaurant.
