Heading to Disneyland for spring break? Wait one second before running to get in line at your favorite attraction. Indiana Jones Adventure Two popular Disneyland attractions will be refurbished in March and April, and we have all the details on what to expect. Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout will be closed from March 10th to March 20th in Disney California Adventure, and Indiana Jones Adventures will be closed from March 17th to April 24th at Disneyland Park. Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout Not only will these two attractions be down, but Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, Meeting Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow, Grizzly River Run, and “it’s a small world” are also currently closed! ©Disney While Disneyland has been getting ready for their 70th Anniversary, they’ve been releasing more details, giving us some insider clues as to why all of these attractions are closed. For example, “it’s a small world” is gaining a few more members, including Miguel and Dante from Coco! You can see them once the ride opens on April 25th. Great Moments with Mr Lincoln will have a second show in rotation called Walt Disney — A Magical Life, which will start July 17th. “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” ©Disney Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and Indiana Jones Adventure look like they’re getting routine refurbishments to ensure the attractions are in tip-top shape for the upcoming anniversary, which will most likely see an influx of people. Guardians will reopen on March 21st, and Indiana Jones will reopen on April 25th. ©Disney We’re sad some of the most popular rides will be closed for a bit, but we love it when Disney puts in the effort to ensure they’re running as smoothly as possible. Disney World’s Lightning Lane system is an optional, paid service that allows you to bypass the regular standby line at several attractions throughout the parks. Winnie the Pooh Lightning Lane The service has gone through many phases and had multiple names, but for the most part, it’s a pretty efficient way of avoiding those long lines that can plague Disney World rides. So, imagine our surprise when we ran into a bit of a glitch when booking Lightning Lane Multi Pass recently! We attempted to go back and forth a couple of times to see if we could get the earlier times to actually show up so that we could book them, but every time, they disappeared and only later times were showing up as available. It’s possible that there are earlier Lightning Lane Multi Pass times available for these rides, but the app is glitching and not showing them. It’s also possible that there are not any earlier times, and the app is glitching by showing them in the first place. Living with the Land Lightning Lane In any case, this is something we’ve run into with Lightning Lanes before. Our best tip is to continue refreshing the app for other times to pop up so that you can modify your Lightning Lanes. This is especially good to keep in mind because the ride tiers only apply to making your selections in advance. Once you are in the parks, you may hold as many Tier 1 rides as are available to you — so keep refreshing! Walt Disney Animation Studios production management workers have ratified their first union contract with the studio, per Variety. Walt Disney Studios The agreement follows an organizing effort that saw a supermajority of workers vote to unionize in February 2023. It was ratified with 96% voter participation and 93% support. The new contract affirms the eligibility of full-time production coordinators, supervisors, and managers to unionize with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and The Animation Guild, IATSE Local 839. Walt Disney Studios Production coordinator Tamara Lee shared, “It’s been an uphill journey, but at long last, we’ve reached the mountaintop. We are standing in our breakthrough — stronger, bolder, and united.” With this new contract, production workers will now receive protections including health benefits and pension. Substantial wage increases have also been negotiated. Production managers will receive a 24% increase, production supervisors are to receive a 29% increase, and production coordinators (the lowest-paid in the unit) will receive a 35% pay bump. Cinderella Castle “During this downturn in entertainment production, production management workers at one of the most powerful corporations in the world stood up and demanded more. Their daily fight for fair treatment and pay is often outside the public eye,” said union organizer Allison Smartt. She added, “They’ve been signing petitions, marching to deliver signatures, staging courageous silent protests in front of executives, and regularly engaging in the fight for their fair share for years, setting an inspiring example. They’ve won a historic contract that will have positive impacts long into the future and throughout the animation industry and I know they aren’t done yet.” Walt Disney Company Headquarters in Burbank Negotiations are also underway with DreamWorks Animation for their first contract, which would mark the second time film production management workers have organized with TAG. This news comes as a contract negotiation round is set for Disney World Cast Members at the Italy Pavilion, where employees hope to “bring them up to Disney standards.” Further, some Disney Springs employees do not have a union. Per the Local 737 union statement, some of these non-unioned Cast Members “lack access to essential benefits like affordable health insurance, paid vacation, and paid sick days.” Disney Springs We’ll continue to keep you updated on the latest Disney union contract negotiation updates. Shelling out cash for worthwhile upgrades at Disney World can occasionally be the right move. Blizzard Beach We’re always recommending ways to save money at Disney World, but sometimes you gotta go big or go home. Disney World offers tons of upgrades, but one in particular might just be worth its price tag and more. If you’ve ever been to either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon at Disney World, you might have come across an uncomfortable problem — finding a spot to leave your stuff and relax isn’t super obvious! Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach Water parks can be tricky, as they require you to leave some stuff behind while you enjoy them. Fortunately, the Disney water parks offer umbrella/seating areas that you can rent. These areas generally cost between $49 and $99 and include perks like umbrellas, towels, lounge chairs, and sand chairs. Blizzard Beach We’re fans of this upgrade, as it’s wonderful to be able to leave your stuff in a dedicated area. You don’t have to worry about fighting for a spot since you’ve rented one, and you also get a nice and shaded area to have lunch and relax while you’re in between the fun of the slides and pools! The best part is that this upgrade is valid all day. Blizzard Beach Entrance At Blizzard Beach, the polar patios are real pricey, but the Lodge Umbrellas are surprisingly affordable and can fit up to four guests. Advanced reservations are tightly recommended. Blizzard Beach Patio Disney World hotel perks now include water park admission on check-in day, so since you’re saving money on admission, paying for this upgrade doesn’t seem so bad on the wallet. A Tropical Americas-shaped asteroid may be heading for DinoLand, U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom, but this ice age isn’t imminent just yet. Animal Kingdom While we have already seen the closure of TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, parts of DinoLand are still up and running — and waiting for you to come say goodbye. So, what is still open in DinoLand, and when is it actually closing? DinoLand, U.S.A. is being transformed into Pueblo Esperanza, which will be home to a new Indiana Jones ride, plus the first-ever Encanto ride and more at a Disney park. Construction has already started in the DinoRama area of the land, but parts of DinoLand remain open. Here’s what you need to know. RIP Disney previously shared that 2025 would be your last year to visit DinoLand before it goes extinct — so we’re anticipating an early 2026 closure. Right now, DINOSAUR, the Boneyard, and Restaurontosaurus are all currently still open. We know that DINOSAUR will be closing in 2026, but we don’t have an official date just yet. Dinosaur You’ve still got time throughout 2025 to grab a bite to eat at Restaurantosaurus, but chances are this spot will close at the end of the year. Restaurantosaurus Dino-Bite Snacks is also still open, so if you’ve got a hankering for an ice cream cookie sandwich, you’ve got time to grab one. Dino Bites In addition, the Boneyard will remain open throughout 2025. The Boneyard When it opens, Pueblo Esperanza will become home to two signature attractions — an Encanto ride featuring the Madrigal family and a new Indiana Jones adventure ride! A Carousel will also provide another ride option. The new land will feature classic Spanish-style architecture with a large hacienda that will also serve as one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Disney World. The rich and lush color and biodiversity of the Tropical Rainforest will be on full display and at the center of Pueblo Esperanza will be a large fountain where stories will be told by gathering villagers. @Disney While we’re sad to see the end of DinoLand drawing near, we are excited about everything that the new Pueblo Esperanza land will bring to Animal Kingdom. I’m about to suggest something so wild that it just might make perfect sense. Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort It shouldn’t come as a surprise that not all Disney World hotels are equal — otherwise, they’d all cost the same. We have our favorites and ones we generally think people should avoid, but we’re throwing all that out the window. In fact, we’re suggesting Disney World first-timers stay at some of the WORST-rated Disney World hotels. Here’s why… They may not be the most boujee, but Disney’s All-Star Resorts are gonna be your most AFFORDABLE option if you wanna stay on Disney property during your vacation. All-Star Music Resort There are THREE different All-Star Hotels you can choose from, depending on you and your family’s personal interests: Music, Movies, and Sports. For the most part, all you’re gonna find at these resorts are your very basic, standard room set-ups that can sleep up to four guests. Standard Room at All-Star Movies HOWEVER, All-Star Music also has FAMILY SUITES — which is why, out of the three All-Star choices, we ABSOLUTELY think All-Star Music is the best of ‘em. Family Suite at the All-Star Music Resort These family suites give you just as much space to spread out as the family suites you’ll find at Art of Animation. And while they might not be AS themed as the Art of Animation rooms, they’re definitely CHEAPER. And while the All-Star Music suites don’t have a full-sized kitchen, they DO have a full-sized fridge — which is more than what Art of Animation will give you in their family suites. Those only have your basic mini-fridges in the room. So that’s ANOTHER point for Team All-Star Music! All-Star Music Resort Depending on when you visit, the price for a basic room at Coronado Springs versus a whole family suite at All-Star Music might be about the same. All-Star Music Despite the All-Star hotels being the cheapest hotels on property — meaning you’ll have fewer high-end resort amenities at your disposal — that doesn’t mean you’re gonna be stripped of all your Disney hotel perks. You’ll still get that early theme park entry benefit, free bus transportation, food court offerings, colorful immersive theming, Lightning Lane pre-selection seven days before check-in, the free water park perk, AND themed pools/daily activities to check out. All Star Sports As an added perk that most other Disney hotels DON’T get, you can pool-hop between the All-Star resorts if you’re staying as a guest at one of them. Pretty sweet deal — especially if your kids absolutely LOVE hotel pool days. Calypso Pool at All-Star Music The All-Star Resorts can be a lifesaver for first-time guests who are feeling intimidated by Disney’s hotel prices and are just figuring out what they want from a Disney trip. Honestly, they can be great for Disney veterans who are still intimidated by the price of a Disney trip. During sailings aboard Disney Cruise Line’s new ship, the Disney Treasure, guests are invited to dive deep into an extraordinary journey in Disney The Tale of Moana, a Broadway-style show inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 2016 feature film Moana. “Audiences are primed to come in and have a good experience,” the show’s director, Connor Gallagher, said. “They’re not rushing in from traffic or coming here after a bad day at work. They’re coming in to have a theatrical experience and see characters they love come to life. They’re coming from a place of love — and that creates such a nice energy.” In Disney The Tale of Moana, guests will experience Moana’s story like never before, with new songs, large scale puppeteering, and innovative special effects. As the show begins, the Walt Disney Theatre transforms from the fictional island of Motunui into the open ocean as Moana embarks on an epic voyage to save her people. Disney The Tale of Moana features vibrant dancing, choreographed by Gallagher and Peter Rockford Espiritu; songs in a mix of languages, including Tuvaluan, Tokelauan, and Samoan; and the first live staging of “Warrior Face,” inspired by traditional Haka. Adding to the spectacle is larger-than-life puppetry, including Te Kā — the largest puppet that Disney Cruise Line has ever created. In the grand finale, the massive lava monster towers over the audience before Moana helps her transform into the benevolent mother island, Te Fiti. “As the first-ever stage production of Moana, this production means a lot to all of us,” said Kaena Kekoa, who plays Moana. “After several years of rehearsals, it’s nice to finally be able to share this with people and for them to receive it.” In Disney The Tale of Moana, the narrator of Moana’s tale is the spirit of her grandmother, and there are references to the brilliant cultures of the Pacific Islands in the set design to highlight the world where her story unfolds. Setting the Stage According to Gallagher, the show was in development for four years before it opened. “One of the things I love most about working with everyone in Disney Live Entertainment is that they really support the collaborative process,” Gallagher said. “I invited all of the designers in as early as possible so that I wasn’t ordering up ideas and effects too late in the process. We collaborated throughout, and we asked each other, ‘What if we tried this?’” As the Disney Treasure was being constructed, the creative team behind Disney The Tale of Moana worked together to creatively adapt the story of Moana for Disney Cruise Line guests to enjoy at sea. “In those initial workshops, we tried to make the show work without all the bells and whistles,” Gallagher recalled. “There’s a lot of technology in the show that you see in the Walt Disney Theatre, like puppetry and video, but when we first did the show, it was like children’s theater with foam core and popsicle sticks. We found the emotional core of the story and the main elements, and then everyone started to layer on top of that. It gave us the ability to zoom out and look at how the story was landing, to see how we wanted to make it more impactful and epic. We wanted it to be a spectacle without losing the heart and the emotion. All flights in and out of Orlando International Airport, along with other Florida airports, are on hold at this time. Orlando International Airport Flights into additional cities along Florida’s East Coast — including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach — are also in a ground stop until 8 PM Eastern Time on Thursday, March 6th. At 6:30 PM tonight, SpaceX launched a Starship vehicle from Brownsville, Texas. A few minutes after launch, the Starship spun out of control, with debris falling into the Atlantic Ocean, according to ABC News. The FAA then issued its ground stop because of “space launch debris” in the area. There have been 176 flight delays at Orlando International Airport today, according to FlightAware. FlightAware SpaceX issued a statement on X shortly after the launch, saying: “During Starship’s ascent burn, the vehicle experienced a rapid unscheduled disassembly and contact was lost. Our team immediately began coordination with safety officials to implement pre-planned contingency responses.” This was an unmanned flight. NBC Miami is reporting that residents from around South Florida spotted flaming debris in the sky after the Starship broke apart. Debris was also spotted by people in the Bahamas. On our tour around the World at EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival, we’re stopping at The Land Cart to check out this year’s special festival items. The Land Cart The 2025 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival has officially begun and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, unique topiaries to check out, merchandise to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. Come along with us as we check out what’s on the menu this year at The Land Cart! Menu The Land Cart has some great returning Festival-themed menu items this year. One meal is a plant-based Mediterranean Vegetable Wrap with pickled vegetables, hummus, cucumber, spring mix, tomato, and chipotle “cream”. There’s also a non-boozy smoothie is also on the menu — the Tropical Smoothie. Returning for 2025 is a Strawberry Fruit Bar. The Menu! Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First, we grabbed the new plant-based Mediterranean Vegetable Wrap, which was $11 and included pickled vegetables, hummus, cucumber, spring mix, tomato, and chipotle “cream.” Mediterranean Vegetable Wrap This wrap is a solid meal! We loved the plant-based chipotle “cream” that added a bit of warmth without the heat. It was flavorful and a little messy! We would have preferred more hummus for a more balanced flavor and to help hold everything together. It was so fresh, and the vegetables did not disappoint. Look at all of those veggies! The returning Strawberry Fruit Bar is a pre-packaged fruit bar and when we had it in 2024 we found it to be fine — nothing special. You can order this for $6 and is a Disney Dining snack credit. Strawberry Fruit Bar Drinks One drink completes the Festival menu at The Land Cart — the “new” Tropical Smoothie made with DOLE Whip, banana, and mango for $6.50. Florida Smoothie AKA the Tropical Smoothie Last year we tried this under the name Florida Smoothie and it reminded us of a POG smoothie but with mango instead of guava. It’s super fruity and fresh and perfect on a warm Florida day. OVERALL What an underrated booth! We loved the freshness of both the smoothie and the wrap and liked that there were plant-based options. The wrap was filled with delicious vegetables, a great sauce, and hummus. UK Beer Cart There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, unique topiaries to check out, merchandise to grab, and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the UK Beer Cart — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out! Menu Over at the UK Beer Cart, you’ll find just one specialty drink for the Flower & Garden Festival! 2025 menu Let’s get to drinkin’! Drinks This year’s special Festival drink is the Blackcurrant Gin Cocktail made with Ford’s Gin with lemon juice, blackcurrant syrup, and cucumber syrup. You can grab this frozen treat for $12. Blackcurrant Gin Cocktail We’re kind of conflicted about this one! We didn’t hate it, but we didn’t love it either. It’s definitely a cucumber-forward drink, but the additional flavors mask the cucumber taste a little bit. But, the more you drink, the more you get of the blackcurrant gin underneath it, so it’s got a little bit more of a sweeter side to it. Tasty! We would have loved if this drink had it a little bit more sourness or tartness to it, but overall it was pretty balanced. Not too sweet, but still on the sweeter side. It’s a forgettable drink though and doesn’t leave a lasting impression. It’s pretty to look at, but we feel like there are better drinks you can pick up at the festival over this one. OVERALL If you’re a fan of cucumber or gin-based drinks, this one is probably going to be a hit for you! The frozen aspect was certainly refreshing, and the cucumber did make this drink taste rather fresh. Joffrey’s Coffee Kiosk The 2025 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival has officially begun and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, unique topiaries to check out, merchandise to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the Joffrey’s Coffee kiosks — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out! Menu As is the case during all of EPCOT’s festivals, Joffrey’s kiosks are once again serving up special coffee drinks! This year there are four different drinks for the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival. Let’s check them out. The first Joffrey’s stand is near the Canada Pavillion. Joffrey’s Near Canada Menu The next is near Disney’s Traders. 2025 menu Another Joffrey’s location is at the American Adventure. 2025 Menu The fourth is near Mission: Space in World Discovery. 2025 Menu Drinks First up, we’re stopping at the Joffrey’s kiosk near the Canada Pavilion. Here you can order the new Iced Strawberry Island Latte made with a tropical blend of espresso, milk, strawberry syrup, and coconut syrup topped with coconut whipped cream for $6.49. Iced Strawberry Island Latte We weren’t overly thrilled with this drink. The strawberry taste wasn’t over the top, and it was really just a sweet iced latte. It was not too sweet, but we couldn’t taste much else besides a sweet iced latte. It’s not something we would run out to get again, but it was refreshing. Ice Strawberry Island Latte The World Showcase Joffrey’s located near Disney Traders is brewing up an Iced White Chocolate-Mango Latte for $6.49 made with a fruity blend of espresso, milk, mango syrup, and white chocolate sauce topped with vanilla cold foam. Iced White Chocolate-Mango Latte The Iced White Chocolate Mango Latte had fantastic cold foam on top that we loved. The rest of the drink wasn’t very flavorful. We couldn’t taste most of the mango, but we could taste the white chocolate coming through. The coffee flavor was on the mild side, so people who like stronger coffee drinks might not enjoy this as much. White chocolate and mango with coffee? Next, we’re traveling to Joffrey’s in the American Adventure Pavilion, where you can find the Iced Berries ‘n’ Cream Latte. It is made with a velvety blend of espresso, milk, raspberry syrup, and white chocolate sauce topped with vanilla cold foam and costs $6.49. Iced Berries ‘n’ Cream Latte We loved this drink! It wasn’t too sweet, and chunks of berries were blended into the smoothie-esque drink. The berry syrup was delicious, and the sweet, cold foam on top was good. We liked it more than traditional whipped cream. This is definitely one drink we will try again and again. The cold foam was amazingggg Finally, the Joffery’s in World Discovery near Mission: Space is serving an Iced Pistachio-Banana Breeze Latte for $6.49. This nutty blend of espresso, milk, banana syrup, and pistachio syrup is topped with whipped cream. Do pistachios and bananas go together? Apparently not… We don’t think this drink is one we would try again! The flavors really clashed together, and they were not very strong. We wish there was a stronger pistachio or banana flavor, but not both. We’re going to skip this drink next time. Iced Pistachio-Banana Breeze Latte OVERALL Overall, we weren’t blown away by any of these drinks! When it comes to some of the best eats in Disney World, you might be surprised to know you don’t even need a park ticket to get them! Pepe by José Andrés Disney Springs is home to some of our favorite — and seriously stellar — restaurants. There’s something for just about everyone here, whether you’re looking for upscale dining or a quick bite to eat, chances are you’ll find it at Disney Springs. We recently stopped by an underrated counter-service spot and we’re bringing you along for our review! Atmosphere Pepe by José Andrés is the first brick-and-mortar location patterned on the chef’s popular food truck in the Washington, D.C. area. It’s a counter-service dining spot located in the front corner of Jaleo, Andrés’ signature dining restaurant at Disney Springs. Pepe ordering counter After placing your order at the counter, you’ll have plenty of seating to choose from — it is shockingly roomy inside here. And, if you ask us, Pepe is severely underrated, which means you won’t often have to fight for a table or wait in a long line when you dine here. Lots of seats! In addition to the ample seating inside Pepe, there’s also a decent amount of seating outdoors if you want to dine al fresco! Outdoor seating But, what are they serving up to EAT at Pepe?! Menu Pepe features Spanish cuisine, including hot and cold sandwiches on pan de cristal (a unique Spanish bread) along with Spanish sangria and more. Pepe menu You can get “super flautas,” fritters, gazpacho, and a few different types of burgers, too! In addition to sangria, you can also get beer and wine at Pepe as well! Eats To kick things off, we ordered the Pepe Burger which comes with your choice of side for $18. The Pepe Burger is made with Brasstown beef, 100% grass-fed ribeye burger, American cheese, secret sauce, and piparra peppers. Pepe Burger with Patatas Bravas Wow! This burger is nice and juicy and full of ooey gooey cheese. The burger is cooked medium well, but don’t worry, even though there is no red, this meat was so juicy. The bun was fantastic as well. It was crispy on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside. The sauce on the burger is super tasty. It is tangy and reminds us a bit of Thousand Island but with a bit more complexity in flavor. YUM For our side, we chose the Patatas Bravas which are Spanish fried potatoes, spicy brava sauce, and aioli. You can get these as a side for $6. The potatoes are super soft with a slight crispiness to their crust — not crispy like a French fry, but crispy like they have been baked or maybe lightly fried. The sauces on top are delicious! The brava sauce has a chipotle flavor to it and a tanginess. It also has a tomato flavor to it. It has the ever-slightest bit of spiciness to it, but it is really not spicy at all. The aioli adds a great light creaminess to the crunchy potatoes too. We’ll take 20. For dessert, we had the Xuixo: a deep-fried, sugar-coated pastry filled with crema catalana from Catalonia, Spain. One word: Delicious! The inside was flaky and there was lots of yummy, creamy filling. It had a hint of lemon flavor, but it wasn’t overpowering. The dusting of sugar on the outside was the perfect finishing touch. We loved this! We also tried the Torta de Catalana, which is like a Spanish créme brûlée. The filling was velvety smooth and light. It is not as thick as a cheesecake, but not as light as a mousse. In the middle of those two. It had a burnt caramel flavor on top that was actually really delicious. The filling had a hint of vanilla, but overall it was just creamy. The crust is thin but flaky. Such a hit. Okay, okay, the food is incredible — but how are the drinks? Drinks To drink, we ordered the Red Sangria for $9. It was smooth, juicy, and fruity — a great drink to sip while enjoying your food. It was sweet without being overly sweet. You can also get a frozen sangria as well! Pepe Sangria We would say the most prominent fruity notes are orange and a cranberry flavor, but it has a good amount of complexity to it. Nosh or Not You should make a stop at Pepe on your next Disney Springs trip if… You’re looking for a quick bite to eat that won’t be as crowded as more popular spots. You want something a bit more elevated than chicken tenders and french fries. You love Jaleo by José Andrés but are looking for something a bit more casual. You should skip Pepe the next time you’re at Disney Springs if… You want a more formal, sit-down meal. You aren’t after Spanish food and want something picky eaters will enjoy. You don’t like sandwiches. Overall If you ask us, Pepe by José Andrés is a seriously underrated quick-service restaurant — with seriously elevated eats. We can’t stop thinking about that burger (it might even give Steakhouse 71 and Wailulu a run for their money!) and those Patatas Bravas are what dreams are made of. WARNING: My story may change the way you feel about Disneyland! Disneyland The DFB team visits the Disney Parks EVERY DAY, which means we’ve picked up our fair share of horror stories. Unfortunately, I’m no exception. With that said, one of my biggest Disneyland horror stories can serve as great advice for YOU so that you don’t find yourself in the same situation during your next Disneyland trip! To set the scene, I have to make it clear that although Disney is in almost complete control of its theme parks, Disneyland does have its fair share of wildlife which plays by its own rules. Although the wildlife at Disneyland doesn’t quite stack up with the variety of animals at Disney World, it’s still very present and something you have to be mindful of — a lesson I learned the hard way. Jungle Cruise Wild animals you’ll typically see at Disneyland include ducks, seagulls, pigeons, crows, cats, and bugs. The ducks are a Disneyland staple, but often people forget that the parks are also home to tons of crows. ©Disney The crows become more prevalent during the fall, which is when my mishap took place a couple of years ago. During the fall months, they’ll take up residence in the Disneyland trees and you’ll see them flock to said trees especially around dusk. It’s a pretty cool sight, especially around Halloween, but you’d probably think you might become target practice if you’re unlucky. Your fears would not be unfounded. The last thing I wanted to do during my Disneyland day was get pooped on by crows…but that’s exactly what happened. Storybook Land Canal Boats I was waiting for someone next to Storybook Land Canal Boats in Fantasyland when I noticed a murder of crows move to the tree above me. The crows are really fond of the trees next to this attraction so I should’ve known better and moved. Of course, I didn’t, and the crows’ droppings ruined a brand-new Haunted Mansion shirt I bought and wore that very day. It’s safe to say I was in a bad mood the rest of the evening. Storybook Land Canal Boats That wasn’t my only wildlife mishap having to do with trees. One time I was walking under a tree next to Pirates of the Caribbean when I felt something fall on me from above. I assumed it was a leaf but it began scratching into my next and was a tad painful. I brushed my hand up against it only to realize a praying mantis dropped down from the tree and latched itself onto my neck. I have a fear of bugs, so it’s safe to say I didn’t have a very calm reaction to that discovery. Pirates of the Caribbean in Disneyland Another time, I took a breather and sat under a tree very close to the Haunted Mansion. I then noticed a spider come down from that tree and plop onto my lap. Disneyland tree The point I’m trying to make is that Disneyland trees can be a hotbed of wildlife activity, and if you’re not ready to deal with those repercussions, you should probably try to find shade elsewhere. Of course, I’ve stood under plenty of Disneyland trees before without incident and I definitely don’t want to scare you with my stories. Keep in mind, I go to Disneyland A LOT, and these kinds of stories happen to me very rarely. However, I do strongly advise avoiding the Storybook Land trees, especially during the fall — otherwise you’re just asking for a not-so-fun Disneyland souvenir.
