  2. Disney World: The Most Magical Place on Earth…until people start behaving like absolute menaces. Magic Kingdom Look, we get it. The parks can be overwhelming, hot, and exhausting, but that doesn’t mean all social norms should fly out the window. From line cutting to climbing where you definitely shouldn’t, some guests have taken things a bit too far. Let’s take a look at some of the most questionable guest behaviors we’ve seen, and what you can do instead to keep the magic alive. Letting Kids Roam Like Free-Range Chickens Kids and Disney World go together like Mickey and Minnie, but the parks aren’t a free-for-all playground. We’ve seen kids climbing on railings, darting through crowds, and – our personal favorite – getting a little too close to ride tracks while their parents just…watch. Crowds Not only is this super dangerous, but it’s also a great way to get a stern talking-to from a Cast Member. How about this instead: Keep a close eye on your little ones and remind them to respect the space around them (and the safety rules in place). The Great Jungle Cruise Line Heist We’ve all been there – staring down an hour-long wait and wishing for a shortcut. But one family of 10 actually did it, using one member to hold their spot while the rest grabbed DOLE Whips. Jungle Cruise When they returned, they just squeezed back in like it was no big deal. Meanwhile, everyone else who waited properly was left fuming. How about this instead: If your party needs a snack or restroom break, wait until AFTER the ride or be prepared to rejoin at the back of the line. Jumping Off Living with the Land for a…Cucumber? Living with the Land is a chill boat ride through greenhouses where Disney grows a lot of its own produce. It’s educational, it’s relaxing, and apparently, it’s also a temptation for rule-breakers. Someone was so determined to grab a fresh cucumber that they literally jumped out of the ride vehicle mid-ride. A cucumber grown on the ride! Spoiler alert: they got caught. How about this instead: Appreciate the ride for what it is and grab a fresh snack from the many food kiosks in EPCOT – no rule-breaking required. The Diaper Disaster at Toy Story Mania Changing a baby’s diaper is part of parenting, but there are designated places for that. Unfortunately, we once saw a mom change her child’s diaper right in the middle of the queue for Toy Story Mania – on the floor. And if that wasn’t enough, she then touched all the railings as she walked through. Toy Story Mania queue How about this instead: Every park has easily accessible restrooms with changing tables. Use them! Not only is it more sanitary, but it also keeps the experience pleasant for everyone else. Climbing the Mexico Pavilion Pyramid It’s one of the most iconic landmarks in EPCOT, but some guests seem to think it’s their personal rock-climbing wall. We’ve seen people attempting to scale the Mexico Pavilion pyramid like they’re on some kind of adventure movie set. News flash: There is no hidden treasure, only security waiting to escort you out of the park. Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT How about this instead: Take all the photos you want but keep your feet on the ground. The pavilion is beautiful. Let’s admire it the right way. Taking a Dip in the EPCOT Fountains A long day in the Florida heat makes any water feature look tempting, but Disney fountains are NOT for swimming. We’ve seen adults (yes, adults) hopping into fountains like they’re public pools. Not only is this unhygienic (you don’t want to know what’s in that water), but it’s also a one-way ticket to an early park exit. Imagination Pavilion fountain How about this instead: Beat the heat the right way – head to an air-conditioned attraction, grab a refreshing drink, or find some shade. Spaceship Earth in EPCOT Listen, we all love Disney World, and we want to have the best time possible. But there’s a way to do it that doesn’t involve breaking rules, cutting lines, or pulling stunts that make the rest of us cringe. So let’s all agree to keep things respectful. We’ll all have a more magical time for it. In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest from Disney. 3. It’s time to check in with the tragic lives and stories of the people who reside in the Tiny Train Town that is nestled in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion in the World Showcase. The town in question. Now, we’ve seen this poor town deal with a lot of tragedy. There’s been murder, werewolves, and other treachery afoot since the town was founded in 1995. Even now, the citizens of this village have recently faced a supernatural threat that could define the town for generations. However, in a recent visit, we saw how life is still going on for these poor folks. So let’s check in with them, shall we? Hello, I’m Robin, the Interim Mayor of Tiny Train Town while Mayor Lydia takes a break. We’ve just recently checked in on Tiny Train Town to see what’s going on, so let’s get caught up. The last time we looked in on Tiny Train Town, the werewolf had become a huge threat to the citizens, and it was obvious that they would soon have to deal with the consequences of allowing a werewolf to stalk their village for so long. Well, things have finally come to a head, it seems, and some citizens seem to have taken the matter into their own hands. Let’s just say we’ve seen evidence of a battle — this poor gentleman has obviously been fighting and now seems to be in shock — he has seen some things, folks. He fought the werewolf and survived Although life seems to be getting back to normal (or as normal as it can for this town, where scum and villainy meet hand-in-hand), we think the fight with the werewolf has taken its toll. Trying to get back to normal This poor gentleman…he just seems haunted. But life can never be normal in Tiny Train Town Interestingly enough, there’s no sign of the werewolf — was it defeated? All we know is that this man has packed up all his belongings in a backpack and is ready to try and hitch a ride out of town. Could he be the werewolf in question? Have the citizens finally fought back enough to convince him to leave? Is this our werewolf? Anyway, even in Tiny Train Town, life goes on…as does love. Over at the church, another bride seems to have run off before her wedding (or perhaps she fell victim to the werewolf ), but the groom has already found love with one of the bridesmaids. Even in times of turmoil, love finds a way. Finding love after tragedy The train station has become a hangout for young singles again in hopes that they might find a love match. We bet this glamorous bombshell in blue will have NO problem finding someone soon. The young singles are trying to meet their match Meanwhile, in another part of town, two lovers who have found each other sit quietly together to watch the sunset. Can I get an “AWWWWW!” Let’s hope the werewolf is really gone because otherwise, their love story could become a tragedy. Love finds a way…at least until the werewolf strikes again We’ll know more next time we visit Tiny Train Town, so stay tuned to DFB for more. The anarchy within is mostly created by natural occurrences, like giant squirrels, wind, rain, and relatively godzilla-sized lizards who frequent the town; but we find it fun and entertaining to make up fictional stories about what COULD be happening. We are grateful to the folks who create and maintain this Tiny Train Town for Disney World, as it’s one of our favorite parts of EPCOT and always has been. 4. There’s a certain code that we Disney Adults live by for visiting Disney World. But I made it my mission to throw caution to the wind for a day recently, and things didn’t quite go as planned! Panicked Mickey We’re constantly bringing you all the tips, tricks, and best practices we’ve picked up over the years from visiting Disney World every single day. It seems like Disney World is in for a whirlwind of changes over the next few years with new lands and attractions being introduced into the parks soon, and if you’re not heeding some helpful advice, you could find yourself very frustrated quickly. If you thought you had it all figured out and have been ready to throw caution to the wind on your next visit, we truly caution you to read about how one day like that went very sideways for us. There are very few times where we’ve heard “planning a Disney World trip” and “easy” thrown into the same sentence and that’s for good reason. There always seems to be something changing, evolving, or not quite the way it once was on your latest visit. Hi, Buddy! Going to Disney World every day is a privilege we enjoy to help test out different strategies, angles, and ways to accomplish your day in the parks. So, it’s easy to conclude that as much time as we spend in the parks, we probably could do a day at Disney World like a breeze with our eyes closed right? Well… we decided to put that very theory to the test! Space Mountain queue We spent a day at Disney World breaking our own rules, and let’s just say we quickly figured out why these are staples in our everyday guidelines. So, to start out our day we made a list of rules we felt like we could break fairly easily and decided to record it all and tell you how well things went or how quickly they fell apart. NOT Modifying Lightning Lanes We decided to buy Lighting Lane MultiPass for a day and NOT modify the selections we initially picked up. This means that we still made 3 selections in advance but we weren’t actively looking for earlier times to modify them to and left our day truly at the mercy of current availability and chance. Journey of the Little Mermaid Because of this, our first Lightning Lane didn’t start until 10:40 AM. Ok — not so bad yet. Normally, we would have tried to have modified to earlier times days in advance in the hopes that once we started using them for the early times in the park, we could start picking up new Lightning Lanes even earlier than most. ©Disney This part was frustrating because Lightning Lane availability was limited and mostly for rides I wasn’t as interested in earlier in the day. If I had planned on staying later in the day there were a few scarce ones I could have snagged, but that would have compromised my ability to use it earlier in the day and then I would have only gotten through like 5 rides and attractions total. Pirates of the Caribbean However, I did have one small win that wasn’t breaking the rules we had agreed to break for the day. My saving grace to getting anything done for the day was using a Lightning Lane and then picking up my next attraction as soon as I scanned into the last spot for the current one I needed to clear to gain another in its place and keep holding 3 at a time. If you’re not picky about what you get this could work well, but if you’ve got your sights set on specific rides and attractions, not refreshing in hopes of modifying certainly doesn’t do you any favors other than getting you Lightning Lanes for the less popular attractions and still waiting in long lines for the bigger rides. Former Cast Members Reveal One MAJOR Tip for Booking Lightning Lanes in Disney World! No Rope Drop Queue the world’s smallest violin, please. Since I’d already made our selections for Lightning Lanes and they started more than an hour after the park opened, getting an early start suddenly didn’t seem like a priority for this experiment. So, for this day, rope dropping the park (which means we’re ready to step inside right when the park opens) just wasn’t my strategy. While this was a bit of a bummer to my “normal” day, I do recognize that not everyone is an early morning person (especially on vacation), and getting up, ready for the day, and taking transportation over to enter Magic Kingdom as it opens bright and early in the morning can be a challenge. ©Disney However, I happened to get extremely lucky this day and wait times really weren’t so bad. I showed up at 10:30 AM just before my first Lightning Lane, and while there were longer waits like 70+ minutes at a few popular rides we knew to expect longer lines for, most weren’t above 40 minutes or less at the time. This gave me hope that I would still have a productive day. What No One Tells You About Rope Drop in Disney World Trading In Our Normal Sneakers For Flip Flops Alright this might be cheating a bit, since Flip Flops are my preferred shoe, but if you’re not used to them for walking long distances, blisters can still happen, especially if they’re new. In their defense wearing flip flops around Disney World is easier in the sense they’re quick to slip on and off to give your feet a break when you’re sitting for a bit, and when it comes to drying out. This is especially handy with water rides if you plan on getting wet through the day. So many flip-flops! On the flip side though, blisters still can and will happen, and there’s a reason why we keep harping on you to bring moleskin with you to the parks to keep going! You don’t want to give up the rest of your trip because your feet just feel so awful. Also, if your feet are used to a lot of support, you’ll find out very quickly that those hard surfaces can be very unforgiving. If you’re not used to them for long distances or extended wear, the structure of the sandal might aggravate any underlying foot conditions that you might not be aware of until you’ve walked in them all day long. Sandals and flip flops are prone to break, too, which could leave you down a shoe (kind of like a flat tire), forced to call it a day early or spend a chunk of money buying other shoes in the store you didn’t plan for. 12 Shoes That Cost a Little Extra But Will Be Totally Worth It for Disney World Mobile Ordered At Peak Lunchtime For this experiment breaking our own rules, we thought we’d try mobile ordering our lunch at peak lunchtime. To really put it to the test, we also decided to order from one of the busiest restaurants in all of Magic Kingdom for quick service lunch, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe This actually wasn’t near as bad as I thought for this particular day, and you may have already figured as much given my assessment of the lower crowds than expected. Granted there are times where this is a nightmare, but since the crowds were lower I was able to place an order during peak lunch time at 12:21 PM and within 5 minutes it was ready to pick up. Lunchtime! Inside of the restaurant had plenty of empty seating, but outside was harder to find a table. This was probably since it was such good weather outside; it wasn’t too hot or breezy, and I noticed people using it as a midday break, too. Not to Be Dramatic, but This Disney World Mobile Order Hack Just Changed My Life Buying SmartWater First off, my wallet hurt after that one because SmartWater is $6 and on a hot day this could get expensive FAST! Dasani, the other bottled water inside of Disney World, isn’t much cheaper. SmartWater If you really don’t like the way Disney World’s free water tastes or just have a preference for bottled water, it’s MUCH cheaper to bring your own bottles in your bag, or better yet bring a reusable water bottle. SO DANG NASTY. The Experts are DIVIDED on the FREE WATER at Disney World. How you do Disney World and your level of comfortability is totally and completely up to you. While we try to give advice in the hopes that it will maximize the value of the time and money you’ve spent to enjoy your Disney World vacation to the fullest, what that end result looks like and the journey you take to get there is solely dependent on decisions and opinions that only you are qualified to make for yourself. It’s okay to go with the flow throughout your day and still feel as accomplished as someone who’s hopping from ride to ride all day long. Your perfect day at Disney World as a Disney Adult is what you make of it; we’re just here to offer some helpful advice along the way since we’ve seen crowds rise and fall, uncommon situations occur, and try to avoid roadblocks that could put a damper on your trip before they have a chance to begin. 5. We’re heading to this Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival food booth for one reason, and one reason ONLY. Garlic Kissed Booth The 2025 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has officially begun at Disneyland Resort, and there are LOTS of things to do. From now through April 21st, you can devour some tasty eats and drinks, check out unique entertainment, and more. Wondering just what you can eat at the Garlic Kissed booth? Well, we’ve checked it out, and now we’re sharing our FULL thoughts. Menu Over at the Garlic Kissed, you won’t find a robust menu. But what you will find are a few interesting drinks and a fun take on mac and cheese you don’t see often. But is it worth the cost? We’re about to find out! Garlic Kissed Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats Here, you can grab the Sirloin Gruyére Mac & Cheese this year for $9. This is made with Black Garlic Chimichurri and Garlic Butter Crunch. Sirloin Gruyére Mac & Cheese This is a new dish this year, and unfortunately, it just didn’t hit for us. It came with four big chunks of sirloin and they were all dry and tough. The mac and cheese had a super cheesy flavor and smooth consistency, and the chimichurri was on the mild side for our liking. That said, the dish had a good garlic and tangy flavor, but we weren’t a fan of all the flavors together. Not great, in our opinion This is certainly not your average mac and cheese, but we really think it could have been much better — even the ladies sitting next to us agreed that it just fell flat! Drinks For drinks at this booth, you can grab the returning Guava Lychee Mule for $17.50. It’s made with Vodka, Guava Nectar, Ginger and Lychee Syrups, Lemon Juice, topped with Guava and Grapefruit Hard Cider, and garnished with a Lemon Wheel. Guava Lychee Mule We tried this cocktail last year and thought it was super refreshing — we loved that it wasn’t too sweet and was more on the tart side. We tasted a lot more grapefruit than we did guava or lychee, though. We’d definitely get this one again. Also on the beverage menu is the Huckleberry-Citrus Cooler for $7. Huckleberry Citrus Cooler (2024) This is a non-alcoholic option with Huckleberry and agave syrups, grapefruit soda, lemon, and orange juices, and Gold Peak Black Tea garnished with an orange wedge. We really love how delicious and refreshing this is! You get a nice tart lemonade flavor, but it’s still on the sweeter side, so both flavors balance each other out. OVERALL Overall, we think that the drinks at this booth are solid but aren’t absolute standouts, but the food really falls flat. We don’t suggest going out of your way to stop by this booth necessarily, but if you’re looking for a refreshing drink, it may be a good place to stop. This has been a hit for us in past years so we’re sad to see it fall so far, but we’re crossing our fingers it’ll rise up once again next year! 2025 Garlic Kissed Festival Marketplace Booth That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! 6. Disney World is expensive; there’s no way around it, but there are ways to save a little money on your next trip. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Lightning Lane One of the best ways to save money, though, is to avoid pricey upgrades and extra costs, such as Lightning Lanes. Lightning Lanes are part of Disney’s paid skip-the-line service, and there are multiple tiers: Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Single Pass, and Premier Pass. If you’re planning a trip to Disney World and are considering a skip-the-line option, you might want to check the prices before you splurge. This is our warning to you that for the next few days, Lightning Lane prices are changing! We keep track of all the latest Lightning Lane price announcements to help track any price increases or decreases. The prices change based on the crowd levels in Disney World, so the closer we get to spring break, the higher we expect the prices to rise. Can’t budget for something if you don’t know how much it costs, right? In our research, we noticed that Lightning Lane prices increase dramatically in the coming days. Lightning Lane As a reference point, this is what Lightning Lane pricing looked like on the last day of February the 28th: Lightning Lane Multi Pass Magic Kingdom: $29 Lightning Lane Multi Pass EPCOT: $24 Lightning Lane Multi Pass Hollywood Studios: $29 Lightning Lane Multi Pass Animal Kingdom: $17 Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Lightning Lane Single Pass: $11 TRON Lightcycle / Run Lightning Lane Single Pass: $19 Cosmic Rewind Lightning Lane Single Pass: $18 Rise of the Resistance Lightning Lane Single Pass: $20 Flight of Passage Lightning Lane Single Pass: $16 Living with the Land Lightning Lane And now, here’s what pricing looks like on March 3rd: Lightning Lane Multi Pass Magic Kingdom: $39 Lightning Lane Multi Pass EPCOT: $32 Lightning Lane Multi Pass Hollywood Studios: $32 Lightning Lane Multi Pass Animal Kingdom: $29 Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Lightning Lane Single Pass: $14 TRON Lightcycle / Run Lightning Lane Single Pass: $22 Cosmic Rewind Lightning Lane Single Pass: $19 Rise of the Resistance Lightning Lane Single Pass: $24 Flight of Passage Lightning Lane Single Pass: $18 The cost of the Magic Kingdom Multi Pass increased by $10! Note that you’re not getting anything different between February 28th and March 3rd; that price increase is due to Disney’s surge pricing model. Lightning Lane at MuppetVision*3D On March 4th, pricing stays essentially the same, with the exception of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Hollywood Studios. Here, the price jumps up to $35 from $32, and the Rise of the Resistance Lightning Lane Single Pass increases another dollar to $25. Cosmic Rewind Lightning Lane Not to mention that Lightning Lane Premier Pass, the pass that lets you skip EVERY ride in a single park once, also sees a major price increase on March 3rd. You’ll pay $449 for Magic Kingdom, $249 for EPCOT, $349 for Hollywood Studios, and $199 for Animal Kingdom (remember that this is priced per person, per park, per day). This is an increase from the day prior, March 2nd, where Magic Kingdom’s pricing is the same, EPCOT’s is $239, Hollywood Studios is $339, and Animal Kingdom’s is $159. Lightning Lane at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT So, why the jump? Well, it’s clear Disney is expecting some major crowds on these days, as they usually bump up pricing when ticket sales show the parks will be more crowded. With that in mind, if you’re traveling through Disney World on these days, pack your patience and be ready to bob and weave around more crowds than you originally expected. 7. There was a big shift at Disney World this week and with the changes, there will be one mistake you want to avoid. EPCOT The days of waking early to be on your phone to grab a Virtual Queue for Disney World rides are over… for now. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom are now using standby lines instead of the Virtual Queue system. This has impacts on how you will do your next Disney World vacation. We were there in the parks on February 25th when the switch to standby began so that we could tell you, our readers, how it went! We saw a fluctuation of wait times and we even saw Cosmic Rewind hit 170 minutes at one point during the day. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind The good news is that if you are staying at a Disney World hotel, you can utilize Early Entry for Cosmic Rewind. Early Entry is for resort guests to be able to access certain rides throughout the park 30 minutes before other guests. As of right now, Tiana’s is not a part of Early Entry at Magic Kingdom, but that could change. But, if you aren’t looking to wait standby for either of these rides, there is another option. Crowds at Cosmic Rewind Both rides are available as Lightning Lanes, but this is where the mistake part comes in. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is available as a Tier 1 ride on Multi Pass. Just to refresh your memory, Lightning Lane Multi Pass is an optional paid service available through the My Disney Experience app which allows you to bypass standby lines and enter the Lightning Lane at select attractions in the parks by paying a base price for multiple attractions. This Tier 1 attraction could be hard to get, but not impossible so if you are staying at a Disney hotel, you can book these 7 days ahead of your stay. If you are not, you can book these 3 days before your park visit. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure However, do NOT make the mistake of assuming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a Tier 1 attraction on Multi Pass as well. It is not, instead it is a Lightning Lane Single Pass ride. Lightning Lane Single Pass is essentially a pay-per-ride service. Guests pay a fee to utilize the Lightning Lane for an individual attraction — you can book Lightning Lane Single Passes for up to TWO attractions maximum per ticket, per day. The good news with that is if you are willing to pay for it, it guarantees you a time to ride it instead of working to grab a Tier 1 slot through Multi Pass. Lightning Lanes! 8. Heading to Disney World in March? We don’t blame you! Lightning Lane Multi Pass pamphlet If you’re looking to skip the lines on your upcoming trip, you might consider purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass! This new paid service allows you to skip the long standby lines at rides and use the shorter Lightning Lanes instead. And, we’re bringing you a look at Lightning Lane prices for March 2025. Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass allow you to select up to three rides in advance for specific times up to seven days in advance if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel and up to three days if you’re staying somewhere else. Animal Kingdom Disney also just recently debuted Lightning Lane Premier Pass, a pricier version that lets you choose Lightning Lane selections and enter them at any time. This service costs anywhere from $129-$449 per person per day, depending on park and date. The biggest difference over Multi Pass and Single Pass is that you don’t have to pre-book Lightning Lanes for specific times — you can enter a ride’s Lightning Lane at any time you choose for the date and park you’ve purchased Premier for. 9. It’s a chicken. It’s a cow. It’s Cluck-a-Doodle Moo at this year’s Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival! 2025 Cluck a Doodle Moo The 2025 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has officially started at Disneyland Resort, and there are LOTS of things to do. From now through April 21st, you can devour some tasty eats and drinks, check out unique entertainment, and more. Wondering just what you can eat at the Cluck-a-Doodle Moo booth? Well, we’ve checked it out, and now we’re sharing our FULL thoughts. Menu Over at the Cluck-a-Doodle Moo booth, you’ll find a new food dish and new drinks! New on the food side is the Asa’DOS, which is grilled skirt steak and chipotle chicken with Spanish rice and salsa verde. Get it? This dish is both the CLUCK and the MOO. Cluck A Doodle Moo Menu If you’re looking for some festival beverages, you’ll find a boozy Açai Passion Tea-ki Cocktail, a Mexican Lager, a new Michelada, and several other new beers. Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First up, we grabbed the new Asa’DOS for $7.95. This is a grilled skirt steak and chipotle chicken with Spanish rice and salsa verde — covering both the chicken and beef aspect of the booth’s name. Asa’DOS While we were really looking forward to this dish, it was a bit of a letdown! We thought the carna asada was fatty and hard to chew, and the artificial smokey flavor was overpowering. The chicken had great texture and came right off the bone, but it was also overwhelming with the smokey flavor. Asa’DOS The rice under the meat was just fine and wasn’t very special. Drinks You’ll find a lot of drinks on the menu at Cluck-a-Doodle Moo this year — and if you’re a fan of beers, this might be a booth for you. We ordered the Açai Passion Tea-ki Cocktail made with pineapple rum, dark rum, passion fruit syrup, Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Açai Black Tea, and lime juice garnished with a skewered Luxardo cherry and pineapple wedge for $18. Açai Passion Tea-ki Cocktail This drink was super refreshing! We loved how it tasted exactly like a Mai Tai and didn’t have a strong alcohol flavor. The açaí made it sweet but was rounded out by the tartness from the life. It had strong tropical vibes, and we really enjoyed it! Açai Passion Tea-ki Cocktail Also on the drink menu this year is an Estrella Jalisco Mexican Lager, an Estrella Jalisco Michelada, several other new beers, a hard cider, and a Festival Beer Flight. OVERALL Of the two items we tried this year, the Açai Passion Tea-ki Cocktail was definitely the standout! We weren’t too sure about the Asa’DOS, but if you try it, make sure you leave a review in the comments! The full spread! That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! 11. Choosing to stay at a Disney World hotel provides numerous perks that can help make your vacation better! You can take advantage of a complimentary day at a Disney World water park on your check-in day, enjoy extra time in the park with Early Entry, get free parking at the theme parks, and utilize free Disney transportation. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort In addition to all of the perks, Disney World hotels offer a variety of amenities, including dining and shopping options and pools. It feels wonderful to take a dip in the pool after a long day at the theme parks. While several hotels are still undergoing pool refurbishments, one hotel’s pool has finally been reopened! The Courtyard Pool, spa, and Courtyard Pool Bar at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort have reopened! The refurbishments started on January 27th and lasted through late February 2025. Grand Floridian Courtyard Pool While the Beach Pool remained open throughout the refurbishment, seeing a hotel pool reopen is always exciting! We think it is the perfect time for a relaxing day at the pool. Keep reading below to see what other attractions and locations will be closed this week, March 1st through 8th! Magic Kingdom Playground at Dumbo the Flying Elephant The indoor children’s playground inside the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue will close for refurbishment on February 24th, 2025. While the playground will be closed, the ride will still be open and available for kids of all ages to soar through the sky! Dumbo the Flying Elephant The indoor playground is expected to reopen in Spring 2025. Hall of Presidents The Hall of Presidents closed at Magic Kingdom on January 20th. The Hall of Presidents The attraction is closed until later in 2025, though a specific date has not been shared by Disney. We will keep an eye out for updates, though! The closure is likely to change out the current president as January 20th marked Inauguration Day. While it is closed, other maintenance and routine work may also be happening. Astro Orbiter If you want to blast off into space, you’ll have to head over to Space Mountain because Astro Orbiter will be temporarily closed for refurbishment! Astro Orbiter is being refurbished offsite Astro Orbiter will be closed as of January 13th and is planned to reopen in the summer of 2025. No specific date has been announced for the high-in-the-sky ride, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for an update from Disney. The ride has currently been completely dismantled and is being refurbished elsewhere. It definitely looks a little barren as you are walking into Tomorrowland right now! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad We’ve been anticipating this ride closure for a while now, and on January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. We can’t wait to see what changes will be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! The Best $5 Treat in Magic Kingdom Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade On June 23rd, we had to say goodbye to an opening-day attraction that had been around for generations and provided simple fun to all who played. Now, the attraction has closed to make room for a new Disney Vacation Club lounge. Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade This lounge will be the third in Disney World, joining one in EPCOT and one at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Disney has not yet announced when the new lounge will open. Disney recently filed a new permit for the new DVC lounge, McKim’s Mile House, to install signage. We have been eagerly awaiting to see if we can see the signage outside, but so far, we have had no luck. Tomorrowland Terrace Tomorrowland Terrace is a quick-service restaurant that has been closed since the 2020 pandemic-related closures, but even before that, this spot was only occasionally open. Tomorrowland Terrace Once in a while, you’ll see the dining room open as a rest area (and it’s still being used for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties), but it’s usually all roped off and empty. Disney hasn’t announced when this spot could finally reopen, but we’ll be watching for updates. If you’re looking for a nice spot to hang out in Disney World and take a rest, this could be it! Tortuga Tavern Just like Tomorrowland Terrace, Tortuga Tavern is also a seasonal restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It has been a bit since we have seen it open. Most recently, it was used as a cookie location for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tortuga Tavern However, there are now shrubs up around the dining area of the restaurant, and work is being done. When we stopped by recently, some of the shrubs had been taken down, and it looked like work had been done on the ground. We don’t know exactly when/if this restaurant will reopen, but we will keep you updated if we learn more! We Wish We Would Have Bought These Park Bag Essentials For Magic Kingdom Sooner EPCOT Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros Over at EPCOT, the Gran Fiesta Tour ride at the Mexico pavilion also closed on January 6th. Gran Fiesta Tour The ride will temporarily close for refurbishment and is expected to reopen on March 15th! Test Track Test Track closed on June 17th, and Disney is giving this ride a BIG makeover! Test Track Disney has shared that the new version of Test Track will take inspiration from the old ride, World of Motion, that was originally there when the park opened in 1982. Disney shared more details at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Experience, and an updated opening timeline was just announced! We’ll be able to ride Test Track once again in late summer 2025. 3 Disney Cast Members Reveal SECRETS Behind the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival Restaurant Marrakesh Restaurant Marrakesh is currently closed as a dining location in the Morocco pavilion of EPCOT’s World Showcase, and there’s no word yet on when the restaurant could fully reopen. Restaurant Marrakesh Occasionally, we’ll see it open as a lounge or Kidcot Fun Stop. So, if you’re in the Morocco Pavilion, check it out to see if it’s open. We’re watching for updates on when the full restaurant could reopen! REVIEW: Is This STILL the BEST $10 Lunch in EPCOT? Hollywood Studios Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy The Cars-themed show featuring Lighting McQueen permanently closed on October 8th, 2024, to make way for a brand-new Villains show. Sunset Showcase The Cars show was previously housed in the Sunset Showcase building, but the last day for guests to enjoy it was October 7th. The new Villains show is supposed to debut in the summer of 2025. We’re always watching for more details about the new show, and we recently spotted a casting call for Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent! Voyage of the Little Mermaid Voyage of the Little Mermaid is currently closed in Disney World. But a bit ago we spotted that the iconic Voyage of the Little Mermaid marquee has been removed! So far it is still missing, but we are curious what, if anything, will takes its place. Disney is going to introduce a new, updated show in this spot, though it will still be themed to the animated movie The Little Mermaid! The new show will be called “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure,” and it is now coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Summer 2025. It’s gone! Disney still hasn’t announced an official opening date for the new show, but it has been postponed from its Fall 2024 opening timeline. It will be a “fully reimagined theatrical production inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic.” Sorry, But We’re Still Laughing at These Things We Overheard You Say in Hollywood Studios Animal Kingdom Bat Exhibit at Maharajah Jungle Trek The bat exhibit on the Maharajah Jungle Trek closed for refurbishment on February 17th, 2025. While this portion of the trail is closed, the rest of the Maharajah Jungle Trek is open! You could even spot baby tiger Bakso, who recently made his debut in the tiger exhibit. However, be prepared to wait to see this adorable addition, and plan on arriving early. Maharajah Jungle Trek The bat exhibit is expected to reopen in early March 2025. But don’t let its closure keep you from making the trek — there is still so much to see! Kali River Rapids Kali River Rapids is a popular water ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Kali River Rapids Since this is a water ride, and it’s a bit cold outside in Florida during the winter, Disney often closes this ride for refurbishment this time of year. It closed on January 6th and is expected to reopen in March. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Games The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The walls have been up since the closure, and things have been disappearing from behind the walls. Almost everything has been taken down except for the large green dinosaur. Almost everything is now gone! It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, the snack stands, and The Boneyard remain open. Disney hasn’t announced an official closing date for the rest of DinoLand. However, they have announced that “2025 is your year to visit before it goes extinct!” The Most Expensive Restaurant in Animal Kingdom You Should SKIP (and the One You’ve Gotta Try) Typhoon Lagoon Blizzard Beach officially welcomed guests back on November 4th! That same day, Typhoon Lagoon closed its gates for the season. Typhoon Lagoon Typhoon Lagoon will likely be closed throughout the winter until sometime in the spring. Disney has been having one water park open at a time seasonally since 2020. In the meantime, you can enjoy the slopes at Blizzard Beach this winter! Click here to learn all about Blizzard Beach Disney World Hotels Boat Transportation — Disney’s Old Key West Resort From February 10th until early April 2025, boat transportation from Disney’s Old Key West Resort to Disney Springs will be unavailable. The resort will offer buses to take you to Disney Springs during this time. Old Key West While it can be frustrating if you are looking forward to using the boat to get to Disney Springs, Disney always ensures you have a way to get where you need to go. The bus may not be quite as fun of a way to get there, but you will still reach your destination! Stormalong Bay and Hurricane Hanna’s– Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts Stormalong Bay is the shared pool between Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. It features a beach, a lazy river, a large pool, and an exciting pirate ship slide! When we stopped by recently, we noticed that they were hard at work at Stormalong Bay. Stormalong Bay From January until June, this pool area will be closed for refurbishment. While it’s closed, hotel guests can use the Tidal (Beach Club), Admiral (Yacht Club), and Dunes Cove (Beach Club) leisure pools. During the refurbishment, Hurricane Hanna’s, the pool bar at Stormalong Bay will also be closed. Fantasia Pool — Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort From January 1st through April 30th, the Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed. Fantasia Pool While this pool is closed, you can swim at the Duck Pond Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort if you’re staying here. Everything POP Shopping & Dining — Disney’s Pop Century Resort The Everything Pop Food Court still remains on Disney World’s refurbishment. However, the area looks open except for one food window! Since July 29th, Everything Pop has been getting some work done. The refurbishment was supposed to end on September 29th. However, it was extended to being under refurbishment until April 2025. Currently, it is still under refurbishment, but the full food court and dining area are available; guests just might see or hear construction work being done. Pop Century’s new food court When we stopped by a few weeks back, it looked like all the walls were down. A Cast Member said the food court and gift shop are pretty much done, but some behind-the-scenes work is still being done. The only thing we noticed was one food window still closed off. Merchandise Locations — Disney’s BoardWalk The merchandise locations along Disney’s BoardWalk will be closing for refurbishment in phases. The closures will last until May 2025, but two merchandise locations will always be available during the refurbishment. Disney’s BoardWalk The Character Carnival is currently closed. While they are working on the Character Carnival, you can shop at Screen Door General Store and Thimbles & Threads. 12. We’ve been making our way through the 2025 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival! And we’re heading to a booth that we’ve been looking forward to all day. Uncork California 2025 Festival Marketplace We are visiting the Uncork California food booth at 2025 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. Menu This booth is ALL about the wine! There’s a macaron on the menu, but other than that, it’s allllll drinks. Uncork California So, pinkies up because we have wine toasts to sip! Let’s dig in! Eats First up, we’re grabbing the one and only food item, the Mickey-shaped macaron. Made with SNICKERS bar pieces, this Chocolate Mickey-shaped macaron is filled with caramel ganache made with SNICKERS bar pieces. You can pick this treat up for $8.50. A Snickers Macaron! We are obsessed with this Snickers Macaron! The ganache is light and airy, and the shell is crispy and flavorful. We love how the chocolate and peanuts bring it all together. This macaron was delicious last year and continues to be one of our favorites. We know Disneyland knows how to make a good macaron, and this is just another example of how perfect they can be! Mickey Macaron Let’s take a look at drinks. Drinks We know this is a wine booth, but let’s be real: We’re here for the Cocktail Flight with Lychee Melon, California Wine, and Strawberry and Cola Cocktails. Pick up this flight for $20. Cocktail Flight at Uncork California The Lychee Melon Cocktail has white wine aperitif, vodka, lychee, and lime juices with rock melon syrup and is topped with skewered lychee. This was our favorite drink of the flight. We love how light and refreshing it is with a mild flavor. We tasted the lychee and lime flavors first and couldn’t taste the vodka. This drink is different from the other drinks in the flight and was the standout flavor! Cocktail Flight The next cocktail we tried was the California Wine Cocktail, which features peach purée, lemon juice, and blue curaçao syrup. It’s finished off with blue rock candy! This drink was also refreshing, like the Lychee Lemon Cocktail, but it’s on the sweeter side. The peach and gin were forward flavors, and while we enjoyed this drink, it wasn’t one of our favorites. The third and final drink of this flight is the Strawberry and Cola Cocktail with Central Coast pinot noir, whisky, Italian amaro, strawberry purée, lime juice, and, of course, Coca-Cola. It’s topped with a skewered lime gummy, and this drink was not our favorite. We loved the taste of Coke and whiskey together, but the other flavors didn’t work well together. We wish the drink had bubbles like a traditional Coke! The Strawberry and Cola Cocktail was also very sweet, being the sweetest of the flight. Another drink at this booth was the Green Apple Slush Cocktail for $18.50, which was a bit too wild for us! The drink is made of Green Apple BeatBox®, blue curaçao syrup, melon liqueur, kiwi purée, and lime juice and is topped with a gummy shark. Green Apple Slush Cocktail This is by far the sweetest cocktail we’ve ever had in California Adventure, and it tastes like a melted sour apple popsicle. Green Apple Slush Cocktail We did like the shark on top, but this drink is far down in our rankings. Overall Overall, we will head to Uncork California again for that Snickers Macaron! Three of the four drinks were not our favorite, but the first drink of the flight, the Lychee Melon Cocktail, was perfect with its lovely blend of flavors. We may not have loved the drinks due to their sweetness, but if you’ve tried them, be sure to leave a review in the comments! That’s it for this booth, but wait, there’s MORE! 13. We’re checking out all the eats and sips at this year’s Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, and that means we made a stop at Paradise Garden Grill! Paradise Garden Grill This California Adventure restaurant serves up a special festival menu each year, and this year is no different! We’re checking out several new dishes, so come along with us! Menu This year’s menu at Paradise Garden Grill features a variety of dishes, including a Chicken Taquito Ahogado, Al Pastor Tacos, Esquites Loaded Chips, and more! There’s also Lime Parfait for dessert. Paradise Garden Grill Menu Two beverages round out the menu for 2025. Eats We’re starting out our food tour at Paradise Garden Grill with the Chicken Taquito Ahogado. This dish is served in salsa verde with Spanish rice, avocado crema, sour cream, pickled onion, cotija, and cilantro. You can try it for $14.99. Chicken Taquito Ahogado There’s a good crunchy texture here! Some bites can be boring but when you get a bite with everything, it all works well together so well. There’s no spice here, so it’s a better pick for pickier eaters, and we also feel this was a decent deal; for $14.99 could be a good item to split. There looks like there’s a lot going on! The chicken wasn’t the star, but everything else makes up for it. There’s a lot going on, but it’s refreshing and creamy with the cheese, avocado, and tangy cilantro! Inside Next, we checked out the Pescado Zarandeado. This dish is a whole grilled fish with corn tortillas, refried beans, Spanish rice, zesty slaw, pickled vegetables, and a side of chips and salsa. It’s $29.99. Pescado Zarandeado We’d like to preface by saying that the dish looks nothing like the media display. The fish was also overly salted and charred, visually off-putting, and was extra fishy compared to other seafood items our reporters have reviewed here. We weren’t fans of this fish They freshened it up with tomatoes, pickled onions, and cilantro, but if you don’t like fish, those toppings won’t save the fish for you. The beans, rice, and slaw were all pretty average — they were still good, but they didn’t stand out. The carrots actually had a little kick from sitting right next to the jalapeños, so keep an eye out for that! These carrots had some kick! The corn tortillas and chips tasted very fresh — the chips in particular were pretty salty, but in this case that wasn’t a bad thing, and the salsa verde added a cool spice. Overall, this dish was not our favorite, but if you really love fish, it may be right up your alley! The chips were solid though! The Esquites Loaded Chips is Chile-lime chips smothered in corn kernels, cotija cheese, chile-lime seasoning, and crema. It’s $9.99 for this dish. Esquites Loaded Chips This was our reporters’ personal favorite! These crunchy chips have a nice mix of flavors. There’s a decent spice to them, but the refreshing lime flavor helps offset it. The cotija adds a light, cheesy layer that can be overpowered by the spice in some bites, and the cilantro adds a fresh element that works well with everything! Conveniently in a bag! It’s surprising that the chips remained crunchy, given all the toppings. There are lots of complimentary flavors, and we feel it’s one of the best $9.99 purchases you can make at the festival! We loved them! And for dessert, we wrapped it up with the Lime Parfait, available for $7.29. It’s described as layers of graham cracker crust, lime cream cheese mousse, and lime-orange gelée topped with chantilly. Lime Parfait This was like key lime pie in a cup! It was a tart yet sweet treat, more like a mousse than a parfait. The lime flavor is a little artificial-tasting, but it’s still tart. When you get a bite with the graham cracker, it offsets some of the sweetness and artificial flavor, which we enjoyed. This was good but nothing special — plus, maybe it’s a little overpriced, but it’s still a solid 4/5 dessert! Drinks Next, we tried the Hard Peach Tea Seltzer for $14.50. Hard Peach Tea Seltzer To us, this was pretty average. Given the tea aspect, it was flatter than a normal seltzer. Considering this is almost $15, we’d spend the extra few bucks and get a cocktail or save your money with a soda/water. This drink doesn’t really fit in with the California vibes of the Food and Wine Festival, and while it doesn’t taste artificial, it’s kind of bland. There’s a fresh peach taste, but it’s pretty flat and muted by the tea. Honestly, we think it could benefit from a sweeter and more sugary flavor. Overall While this booth wasn’t overall a hit for us, we definitely think the Esquites Loaded Chips was a winner, and if you love key lime pie, you won’t be disappointed by the Lime Parfait! We think this booth has potential, but the prices are relatively high, and we feel you may be let down by most of the offerings. Our full spread! That’s it for this booth, but wait, there’s MORE! 14. We’re hanging out in Disney California Adventure for a BIG festival! 2025 Food and Wine Festival Yep, the 2025 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has officially begun at Disneyland Resort, and there are LOTS of things to do. From now through April 21st, you can devour some tasty eats and drinks, check out unique entertainment, and more. Now, there are a ton of food booths to check out, but some of California Adventure’s regular locations have special festival menu items, too, so we’re checking them out! Churros Near Goofy’s Sky School A brand-new churro is available at this churro cart, the Mango Sticky Rice-inspired Churro, a classic churro rolled in sugar with sticky rice and mango pieces for $7.50. This churro had a fresh, vibrant, and sweet mango flavor. However, we couldn’t really differentiate the sticky rice in bites that were heavy in the mango, but those bites we did get had a sweet and nutty flavor. Mango Sticky Rice-inspired Churro The only downside is that this churro gets a bit soggy from all the toppings. But overall, this is a delicious new addition to the festival. Terran Treats Another new churro is available in Avengers Campus. The Crème Brûlée Churro is made with pastry cream, strawberry coulis, and crushed brûléed sugar for $7.25. The churro is good, as always , but the crushed brûléed sugar gives it an additional nice sweetness (but it’s not overdone). The pastry cream is creamy and sweet and the strawberry flavor just brings it all together. Creme Brulee Churro We will say that we’re not getting a strong crème brûlée flavor, but it’s still a super tasty dessert. Churros at Hollywood Land Well, that’s 2/2 on the delicious churros list. Can we get a three-peat? We’re going to try with the Peach Tea Churro, which is a classic churro rolled in peach sugar with diced peaches and peach tea sauce for $7.50. Well, we just hope you love peaches because there is a LOT of peaches on this baby. The churro is sweet, but we didn’t think it was cloying. We were disappointed that there’s no coating on the churro, though. Peach Tea Churro The peach sauce has a similar consistency to apple sauce — we didn’t HATE it, but we also didn’t love it. The real saving grace of this churro are the actual chilled peach slices, which makes this a refreshing snack. However, this churro just didn’t stand out for us, but it’s a safe pick. Corn Dog Castle Finally, we headed over to Corn Dog Castle to try the new SoCal Corn Dog rolled in fries and topped with tomato and pickle relish, American cheese, and house dressing for $10.79 without sides and $13.59 with sides. There is a LOT going on with this, but you know what? We love it! The breading is thick and it had a great crunch. The cheese was beautifully melted and blended well with the other flavors. SoCal Corn Dog What really surprised us is that the hot dog is still the star of the show here. This tasted like a hot dog with all the works. We’d say this one is a winner, although we might argue it’s a little overpriced. Click here to see FULL reviews of EVERY. SINGLE. BOOTH. at the Food & Wine Festival at Disneyland Resort! 15. Every week, we report the average Disney World wait times in every park so that you can be prepared for your next trip to Orlando! Magic Kingdom Disney World’s saw some MAJOR changes this week, as two of the resort’s biggest new rides – – Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind transitioned from virtual queues to standard queues. Don’t believe us? Take a look at this week’s average wait times! Magic Kingdom Wait Times The big story at the Magic Kingdom this week was Tiana’s Bayou Adventure transitioning from a virtual queue to a traditional standby queue. So, did it make a difference overall? Well, tough to say given the fact that we don’t have a full week of data, so the ride’s wait times may be skewed. The ride’s average for the days it was available on standby was about 20 minutes, which did seem to lower some other wait times around the park. 16. We’ve been waiting for Shrek 5 for about 15 years (yes… it’s been fifteen years since the last Shrek movie; we triple-checked!!), and we finally got a sneak peek at the new movie. Shrek, Princess Fiona, and Donkey Universal Pictures just dropped the trailer for Shrek 5, but did you catch who’s in it? Shrek 5 is coming to theaters on Christmas 2026, 15 years after Shrek Forever After, which came out in 2010. We’re so glad to see actors reprising their roles, but the film is also introducing Zendaya as Shrek’s daughter, Felicia! ©Universal Pictures Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy are all coming back as Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey. The gang’s getting back together, people! Watch the teaser below. At the end of Shrek the Third, Fiona and Shrek have triplets: two boys and a girl. While we don’t know who will play the two boys yet, we can’t WAIT to learn more. We’re so surprised to see Zendaya playing one of the kids. The new movie shows Felicia in her teenage years, and apparently, ogre teens are just like human teens, and she is already annoyed at her parents. ©Universal Pictures Oh, and can we talk about the JOKES?! Universal just acknowledged all those cringe-y (or hilarious, depending on your age) Gen Z Shrek memes. Poor Shrek — the internet has reached his swamp! ©Universal Pictures While Zendaya has been famous since her Disney Channel days, she’s recently had big roles in popular shows, including Challengers, Spider-Man, and Dune. She even produced and starred in Euphoria, the popular HBO show! ©Universal Picture Universal and Dreamworks have recently been giving Shrek lots of love in the theme parks! Despite the closing of Shrek 4-D, the interactive theater show at Universal Hollywood in 2017, and Universal Orlando in 2022, Shrek has a whole area to himself in Orlando. You can meet Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey and climb in an ogre-themed playground in DreamWorkd Land. There are even swamp-themed snacks like the Shrekzel, a pretzel that looks like Shrek, with green cheese to dip it in! Shrekzel! Fans were just as shocked as we were when we heard Zendaya’s voice in the Shrek 5 trailer. But if this is just the start of the details about the movie, we’re interested to see what other famous actors will pop up in it. We’re big fans of the movies and can’t wait to watch the new film next year. Stay up to date with Disney Food Blog for more! Heading to Universal Orlando? 17. A new Disney World hotel is on the horizon and we’re breaking down everything we know so far! ©Disney Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is the newest hotel being built near Magic Kingdom, and it’s been a long time coming. Originally, Disney announced a hotel called Reflections: A Lakeside Lodge for this space and never discussed it again. But now, Disney has announced that it will be built and will be renamed to Lakeshore Lodge. So what do we know so far? Opening Date Disney announced that this resort will open in 2027, just two years away! Construction is already underway. Construction on January 25th Location It is set to occupy the former home of Disney’s River Country water park near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. You can also see the construction of the hotel over at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. In the photo below, you can see the construction of Lakeshore Lodge in the middle with Wilderness Lodge to the right and Fort Wilderness directly to the left. via @bioreconstruct on X Overall Theme The brand-new hotel will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” If we zoom in on the concept art, we can see what appears to be a sign above the entrance to the hotel saying “The Wonders of Nature are Endless”. It also appears to be a silhouette of what looks like Pocahontas, although we cannot be sure. ©Disney The Resort Category We do know that Lakeshore Lodge will be a DVC (Disney Vacation Club) Resort. We can expect it to be a Deluxe Resort and should have similar qualities and perks as others like it. Disney IP Influence on Resort In the concept art, we can see Bambi, Flower, and Thumper from Disney’s Bambi. We aren’t sure if these will be statues or topiaries, or maybe they are just there in the art for fun. ©Disney We mentioned a certain Disney Princess above, and here she is again. Now, this is the concept art for the lobby of the previous Reflections: A Lakeside Lodge and we haven’t seen what the Lakeshore Lodge’s lobby will be like, but maybe they will draw some inspiration from this. Reflections concept art featuring Pocahontas. The Rooms While we haven’t heard an update since the hotels changed names, originally this resort was announced as an ALL-NEW Disney Vacation Club hotel with more than 900 rooms. This could have changed since the new direction. In that concept art, we also saw some of these cabin-like rooms that appear to be up in the trees. Again, we aren’t sure, but this could be a possibility. ©Disney That is all we know as of now, but we are excited for Disney to release more details to the public. 20. Does this booth live up to the spiciness of its name?? We had to find out for ourselves! 2025 Peppers Cali-Ente Booth The 2025 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has officially begun at Disneyland Resort and there are LOTS of things to do. From now through April 21st, you can devour some tasty eats and drinks, check out unique entertainment, and more. Wondering just what you can eat at the Peppers Cali-Ente booth? Well, we’ve checked it out and now we’re sharing our FULL thoughts. Menu As the name suggests, the theme of the menu at Peppers Cali-Ente is all about bringing the heat! This spot serves up two food items, plus a specialty cocktail. 2025 Peppers Cali-Ente Menu Now, let’s get to tasting! Eats First up, we’ve got the Shrimp Papas Locas, made with cheddar-bacon potatoes with jalapeño cheese sauce and spicy shrimp featuring Tajín chipotle sauce. You can snag it for $9.25. We’re SO glad to see this dish returning! It had such GREAT flavors! This year, though, well, you know how they say if you can’t say something nice about something, don’t say anything at all? Seriously, though, the bacon in the potatoes tasted like that fake smokey flavor that really overpowered everything else. NOT a fan. Shrimp Papas Locas Next up, we’ve got a new item. The Corn Chip Chili Pie with seasoned IMPOSSIBLE Beef, spicy cheese sauce, tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, and cream. You can pick one up for $8. Now, THIS totally made up for the previous dish. First, although it says the cheese sauce is spicy, we didn’t really think it was. This is our idea of comfort food and makes us think of the good old days of the snack shack at the baseball field. We did think it was interesting that IMPOSSIBLE beef was used on this dish, but the cheese sauce still used real cheese, so this isn’t 100% plant-based. Corn Chip Chili Pie Now, let’s see how the cocktail stacks up! Drinks The festival drink at Peppers Cali-Ente this year is the Pickle Whiskey Sour Cocktail. It’s a new drink made with Bourbon, pickle juice, lime juice, and sweet and sour, garnished with Tajín Chile Lime Sauce, Tajín, and a pickle spear for $18.25. Let’s just say…we had our doubts — and rightfully so. Although if you love pickles and you drink pickle juice straight, you may love this. Because that’s what it’s like. Pickle Whiskey Sour Cocktail We did like the crispness of the pickle spear and the Tajin rim added a nice flavor. This is certainly one of the more unique items at the festival, but Disney, really, WHAT IS UP WITH THIS OBSESSION WITH PICKLES? Overall This booth was basically a hit and two misses for us, but we do like that the pickle cocktail is pretty unique and not like something you’ll find elsewhere. However, if we visited this booth again, we’d just grab that corn chip chili pie and call it a day. That’s really the only thing that wowed us. 2025 Peppers Cali-Ente dishes That’s it for this booth, but wait, there’s MORE! Click here to see FULL reviews of EVERY. SINGLE. 21. Hold up, Starbucks lovers! You might need to reroute your plans at Disney Springs! Disney Springs One of the two Starbucks locations in Disney Springs is undergoing a big refurbishment and will be closed soon. Here’s what we know! The West Side Starbucks at Disney Springs will be closed for refurbishment starting March 3rd. Don’t worry, though — the Starbucks at Marketplace, right by the World of Disney, remains open. Starbucks West Side We’re not sure how long this closure will last, as the official Disney World calendar only goes to April 30th, 2025, and does not show any hours past March 2nd. Neither Disney nor Starbucks has made an official statement, but we’re constantly checking the calendar to see what’s happening! Starbucks West Side calendar There are a few other spots where you can grab a delicious cup of joe before starting your shopping day at Springs. We’re big fans of Joffrey’s Coffee, which has a location at The Landing and Marketplace. Starbucks and Joffrey’s locations in the parks will be open as well. Joffreys in Disney Springs Disney Springs is home to some of our favorite breakfast restaurants, like Homecomin’ and The Boathouse, for more sit-down brunch options. We also love Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew or Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC for on-the-go options. Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew We’re not sure exactly what’s happening with Starbucks, but remember that the second, smaller location at Marketplace will still be open. This location will probably be busier than normal, so keep that in mind! Starbucks at Marketplace We’ll be monitoring this, so make sure you’re following Disney Food Blog for all of the Disney updates you need. Heading to Disney Springs soon? 23. Over the past few years, Disney World started a trend where only one of its water parks is open at a time. Blizzard Beach There are two water parks located on Disney World property — Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Both are home to tons of fun water attractions and pools, but there’s usually not enough water park traffic to support both being open at the same time, so they switch off each year. In fact, we have some news about BOTH parks! Blizzard Beach is getting ready to celebrate a big anniversary in April, and now we know when Typhoon Lagoon will be opening! Disney just announced that Blizzard Beach will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary with tons of fun activities starting on April 1st, 2025! Blizzard Beach A DJ will play tunes for the whole water park to enjoy on a deck near Polar Pub, Mickey and Minnie will be greeting guests dressed in their winter attire throughout the day, you can participate in snowman bowling, and character-themed tubes will be available for floating down Cross Country Creek. Blizzard Beach But April 1st isn’t the only day to celebrate — you can keep experiencing the fun throughout the month of April with dance parties, anniversary food & beverage items around the park, and family friendly games with fun prizes! There are tons of new additions hitting the water park this spring! Blizzard Beach On May 1st, Blizzard Beach will officially end its 30th Anniversary celebrations and close for the season. Typhoon Lagoon will open on the first day of May for guests to enjoy as Blizzard Beach closes for its year(-ish) refurbishment. Typhoon Lagoon Starting at the beginning of 2025, any visitors staying at a Disney World hotel also have FREE admission to whichever water park is open on their check-in day! This is a fantastic way to check out the water parks and the attractions they have to offer without feeling like you’re potentially wasting a theme park ticket. 24. Disney After Hours events are BACK in EPCOT! But there’s something major you need to keep in mind before planning your dream night in the park! Spaceship Earth Disney After Hours are specially ticketed events that allow guests to enjoy the parks with limited capacity after they close to regular day guests. The events include access to select attractions with lower wait times thanks to the limited number of guests, plus free snacks and drinks, and, of course, the thrill of being in a nearly empty park. But before you start planning out your own EPCOT After Hours visit, we’ve got an important reminder! The 2025 EPCOT After Hours events kicked off on February 27th, with more events scheduled for select dates through September 25th, 2025. We headed out to the first EPCOT After Hours of the year to check it out! EPCOT After Hours Just like in past years, the free snacks included with admission were Mickey Premium ice cream sandwiches, strawberry bars, bottled sodas, buttered popcorn, and, our personal favorite, maple popcorn in Canada! Canada Popcorn Cart Plus, there were some super low wait times for the rides that were open. We rode Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind a few times with about a 25-minute wait early in the event, and a walk-on to the pre-show by 10:50 PM! Plus, there was other entertainment available, like a DJ and character meet-and-greets. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind So, with all of those pros, what’s the catch?? Just like at previous EPCOT After Hours events, the World Showcase was partially closed during this event — you can’t go past Norway or France, so all of the pavilions from China through Morocco are inaccessible. Heads Up that World Showcase Partially Closes During After Hours! If you’re mainly interested in enjoying the rides, snacks, and entertainment, this may not be a big deal for you. But if you had your heart set on snapping lots of World Showcase pictures with no crowds and exploring the pavilions while they’re nearly empty, beware that SIX World Showcase Pavilions (China, Germany, Italy, The American Adventure, Japan, and Morocco) are closed during After Hours! UK Pavilion With No Crowds During After Hours! We’ll continue to report back with more from all of the events happening around Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates! 2025 Dates You Should Know If You’re a Disney World Fan Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 25. There’s been a big shift at Magic Kingdom and it has us thinking 5 years ahead. Magic Kingdom In case you missed it, there are currently no more Virtual Queues at Disney World. That’s right, TRON Lightcycle/ Run ended their virtual queue earlier last year, but now Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind have ended theirs. But, we could see the effects of this for a while — let us explain. Both Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure had been using a virtual queue until February 25th, when both rides switched to using a standby line in addition to Lightning Lane. We knew this would affect the wait times so we went to see how firsthand — at one point, we saw Cosmic Rewind have a 170-minute wait. Crowds at Cosmic Rewind We want to note that ONLY Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind was available during Early Entry. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is not currently available during Early Entry, but it may change in the future. So if you don’t want to wait in standby, you’ll want to purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass for Guardians and try to snag Tiana’s Bayou as your tier 1 selection for Lightning Lane Multi Pass. The Takeaways from No More Virtual Queues at Disney World Tiana’s Bayou Adventure It had us wondering if this was the end of virtual queues in Magic Kingdom, at least for a while. We do have new attractions opening this summer with Villains — Unfairly Ever After and The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, although we think it is unlikely they will use a virtual queue system. However, we can’t forget that in the future Magic Kingdom has a huge expansion coming with 4 new rides. Close-Up Look At NEW Villains Attraction at Disney World! ©Disney In the new Cars-themed area, guests can look forward to two NEW attractions! One attraction from the concept art appears to be for little racers while the other looks more grand racing over mountains. Could the larger ride use a virtual queue system? We could see this being a possibility, however, they could also make this a Single Pass or maybe a new Tier 1 attraction for Multi-Pass. ©Disney Of course, we cannot forget the highly anticipated Villains Land coming! Disney shared, “The new Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom will feature fan-favorite Disney Villains from popular Walt Disney Animation Studios films and two new attractions.” We have speculated that one of these attractions could be a roller coaster based on the concept art, however, we don’t have confirmed details of these rides. The new Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom will feature fan-favorite Disney Villains from popular Walt Disney Animation Studios films and two new attractions. If it is a roller coaster, this would be a main attraction at Magic Kingdom. We could see this becoming a Single Pass Lightning Lane or possibly a return of the Virtual Queue system. If this is a roller coaster, even similar to TRON, Disney fans could make it a very popular ride with long waits. It will be interesting to see how it plays out in the future and what attractions are currently Single Pass or Tier 1 change. ©Disney We have A LOT to look forward to and we will be here to report any new updates as things change.
