Disney Springs has some pretty amazing restaurants, and yes, we’ll happily tell you about our favorites — will you ever get tired of us talking about Wine Bar George and Homecomin’? We hope not! Disney Springs So when we were invited to attend a special event to taste and tour our way around Disney Springs, we couldn’t refuse. Literally, that sounds like the BEST day ever, right? So, let’s get to it! We started with some Earl of Sandwich menu items, trying out three sandwiches: the Chipotle Chicken Avocado, the Cuban, and the new limited-time Earl’s Pastrami. Earl of Sandwich The Chipotle Chicken Avocado is made with Grilled Chicken, Bacon, Cheddar, Avocado, Lettuce, and Chipotle Sauce for $9.49. It’s zesty and delicious, and the dressing gave us *spicy 1000 Island dressing vibes.* The lettuce is crisp, and the sliver of avocado is creamy, as is the melted cheese. The Cuban is also just as good. It’s made with Carnitas Ham, Swiss, Pickles, and Cuban mustard sauce for $9.49. This classic sandwich has a nice snap from the pickles with tender meats and cheese…it just works beautifully. None of the cuts of meat are super thick, so you get a sandwich that’s not too chewy or hard to bite into. The Earl’s Pastrami is a limited-time offering with Premium Pastrami, Swiss, Sauerkraut, Dijonnaise, and 1000 Island. Now, we’ll admit we prefer spicier flavors, so the other two sandwiches were our favorites, but this is a good sandwich PACKED with thin slices of pastrami. The melted cheese brings it all together. Earl of Sandwich sandwiches We also got to try the Chicken Bacon Avocado Salad, and although our reporter isn’t a big salad fan, it was deemed suitable. It’s a wetter salad with a lot of vinaigrette dressing on it with tender chunks of chicken throughout. It has some nice fresh veggies, too, like tomatoes, cucumbers, and avocado. The bacon bits also gave a nice tasty crunch and tasted fresh (not the pre-packaged kind). Note that this is a new addition to the Earl of Sandwich menu. Chicken Bacon Avocado Salad There are also some new Loaded Cookies coming to the Earl of Sandwich menu (oh, yeah, we were ALREADY intrigued). We tried two of the ones available at the media event. The first was the Sugar Cookie with sprinkles and it just crumbles and melts in the mouth like a good sugar cookie should. The second was this Double Chocolate Cookie with gooey chocolate chips on top and inside and it’s SO good, but very dense. This is a chocolate lover’s dream. New Loaded Cookies One of the other cookies is like a Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cookie — we didn’t get a chance to try it, but it’s coming soon, too. Next up, we got to sample some things from Chicken Guy! Now, it’s no secret we LOVE Chicken Guy!, so let’s see what we’ve got. Chicken Guy! So Chicken Guy! is known for its sauces (although they’ve cut back on them a bit). There’s a new limited-time offering, the Truffle Parm Sauce. This is a very concentrated sauce that’s pretty fragrant, but we found it pretty tangy and flavorful. You do get a hint of that truffle flavor, but it’s lighter than it sounds. It almost reminds us of the Garlic Parm sauce. Truffle Parm Sauce The Oreo Strawberry Cheesecake Shake, made with hand-spun vanilla soft serve, cheesecake, strawberries, crushed OREO®’s, topped with fresh whipped cream, crushed Oreos, and strawberry syrup for $6.99. This was a HUGE winner for us (like, how could it not be?). It’s got real strawberries blended into it, and of course, Oreo crumbles on top. There’s also a strawberry sauce that just takes it over the top. It tastes EXACTLY like you think it would, and that’s a GOOD thing. Oreo Strawberry Cheesecake Shake The Pepperoni Chicken Sandwich (on the right), made with garlic Parmesan sauce, marinara, pepperoni, Parmesan & provolone cheese for $9.99 is DELICIOUS. It’s got a light cheese pizza with pepperoni slices with a hint of spiciness. This one will be a big hit with the kids or anyone who loves tomato-forward flavors. Chicken Guy! Sandwiches Finally, it was time to sample some goodies from Planet Hollywood. The Pineapple Express (on the right) is a cocktail made with SKYY Infusions blood orange vodka, SKYY Infusions pineapple vodka, orange and pineapple juices, Sprite and grenadine for $12.99. Um…this was INCREDIBLE. So fruity and pineappley and a nice break from super sugary drinks. Cocktail time! The second cocktail we had was The Perfect Storm (on the right), made with Rum, vodka, gin, tequila, DeKuyper blue curacao, fresh sour, and Sprite for $29.99. It’s basically like a blue Long Island Iced Tea. We’d call this jet fuel because, WHEW, it packed a punch, although it was smooth. It’s also MASSIVE. Maybe share this one with a friend. It’s so BLUE We also tried one of the new Supernova Shakes, the Chocolate Comet (the shake in the front). We thought it was a lot like a frozen hot chocolate, and we think it’s another item chocolate lovers will appreciate. It’s also one of those shakes you want to post on Instagram. Supernova Shakes We also got to try some samplings of High Roller Sampler with Chicken Crunch, Texas Tostados, Buffalo Wings, Five Cheese Dip, and Fried Jumbo Shrimp for $42.99 (don’t worry — it serves four). Um…it was all delicious (and seriously, at this point, we were getting REALLY full). High Roller Sampler We also got to sample the L.A. Lasagna, which surprised us because who goes to Planet Hollywood for Italian food? It’s made with Fresh pasta tubes filled with ricotta & Bolognese meat sauce, fried to a golden brown, served with roasted garlic cream & tomato basil sauce for $22.99. They’re really proud of it, and we can see why. It’s delicious and creamy. Wait…this was GREAT! The Sesame Ginger Salmon, made with Fresh salmon grilled with soy-ginger glaze, served with house-made cilantro rice and green bean blend for $31.99, was also surprisingly delicious. It had a nice grilled char on it and was cooked perfectly. We’d come back for the salmon We even tried one of Guy Fieri’s Big Bite burgers, the Bacon Mac-n-Cheese Burger with a smash-grilled burger, Applewood smoked bacon, six cheese mac-n-cheese, cheddar, LTOP, crispy onion straws, and donkey sauce on a brioche bun for $21.99. The burger is good (and we’ve tried it before), but for us, the appetizer sampler was the big winner her. That is a MOUTHFUL of a burger Overall, we enjoyed eating our way around Disney Springs, but now we need to walk off all this food because y’all…it was A LOT. Stay tuned to DFB for more. The Skyliner at Disney World can be one of the most reliable modes of transportation on the property, but that doesn’t mean it is without faults. Riviera Resort Skyliner Going back to your resort at the end of a long park day can be exhausting, and sometimes, you just want to sit back and relax with your feet up on your ride home. If you’re looking for a quieter experience, here are four times you might want to skip the Skyliner and use a different method to get home. 1. When It’s Just Too Crowded When the Skyliner is busy, Cast Members will put multiple families into one gondola, and sometimes, that’s a bit much for the introverts in the group! You’ll be snugged up with a few strangers until your next stop, and you might have to quickly pass through the small aisle to get out the door. Skyliner Crowds from New Year’s Eve There are some times we know it’s going to be busy, like in the morning at the Caribbean Beach since it’s the main hub or after the EPCOT fireworks. If we see the line all the way down the queue, we usually pass on the Skyliner and use a different mode of transportation to get back to our resort. 2. When It’s Raining or Storming While the Skyliner might be open when you’re waiting in line, once you see those large storm clouds and thunder starting to roll in, it might be time to bail. The Skyliner doesn’t operate when the weather can be potentially dangerous, so save yourself some stress. If you’re constantly checking your weather app in line, taking a short walk to your next stop before it rains might be a good idea! Rain Day If it’s just raining, the Skyliner may remain open, but for those anxious about heights, you still might want to head a different way. The rain and wind can make the gondolas shake a bit more, and while we know it’s safe, it doesn’t mean we always like to be in it! 3. When You Get Stranded The Skyliner is typically open one hour before Early Entry starts at EPCOT or Hollywood Studios and 90 minutes after both parks close. On EPCOT nights with After Hours events, the Skyliner is open later to accommodate the event, but not all routes! The route from Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century, and Art of Animation will be closed. The Skyliner can take you to the Riviera Resort, but then what? Skyliner It’s a good thing you’re reading this now, not after your amazing night at EPCOT! Grabbing bus transportation might be a quicker way to get home that night. 4. When The People Are…Being People Being in a slow-moving pod in the sky with a bunch of strangers is not everyone’s ideal of comfort, but it’s a bit worse when people are unaware of others around them. They might be bouncing or shaking the gondola a bit, making those more timid of heights wish they had walked! Other guests might insist on having a long conversation about their entire life story when all you’re thinking about is your bed at the Art of Animation. Skyliner Loading Area Even little ones who are up way past their bedtime are starting to get cranky and finished with the day, causing the gondola to be a bit louder than anyone would prefer. The Skyliner is typically calmer in the afternoons, but at night, you might want to go a different way. While we love the Skyliner for the convenience between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, plus a few of our favorite resorts, sometimes we like to skip Skyliner and choose to walk, use boat transportation, or even take a Minnie Van when it’s too hectic. Disney World has many transportation options, so you can choose what’s best for you! Stay up to date with DisneyFoodBlog for the best tips and tricks before your next Disney trip! Going to a theme park ALONE can be daunting, but I do it ALL THE TIME anyway. Disneyland When we’re covering massive events like Disneyland Resort festivals, we usually use a team of multiple reporters. However, for the most part, when I’m reporting at the park, I’m exploring on my own without anyone by my side for MANY hours. Wondering what it’s like to go to Disneyland by yourself? I’m bringing you the realities of that experience and what you can expect. I grew up going to Disneyland and I’ve seen it evolve for over 30 years. But until I started writing and reporting for DFB, I really never went by myself. Like most folks, I went to Disneyland with friends and family, never considering going by myself. However, once I became a Disneyland reporter, that all changed. Admittedly, going to Disney by yourself is daunting —and if you’re like me and totally used to going with at least one other person, going alone for the first time will be a shocking experience. An empty Disney California Adventure Park Disneyland is built for the party experience — meaning groups of two or more people. Many rides have two seats, experiences are catered toward families, and the parks sort of expect everyone to be accompanied by someone. So going alone feels…well…weird — at least at first. You won’t really have anyone to talk to, you’re either riding attractions alone or with strangers, there’s no way to avoid looking like a loner while you’re sitting by yourself at a table during meals, and you won’t make any shared memories. Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland While those negatives are significant, they aren’t the end-all-be-all. After quite some time doing this, I have to admit…there are some SERIOUS perks to going to Disneyland alone. For starters, I’m not responsible to anyone else. I don’t have to make sure everyone is fed, or that we get on every ride, or spend money on anyone else. It’s a bit freeing. Disneyland I can also use Single Rider lines, which usually speed up the queuing process, and I ultimately get to explore Disneyland at my own pace. Some days I want to blitz rides or experience attractions my friends and family aren’t too keen on, like water rides or motion simulators. Other days I don’t feel like riding anything and just want to take it slow and breathe in the parks. Either way, I’m in complete control of my itinerary. California Adventure Going alone to Disneyland isn’t a new concept, either. When I go alone, I become a bit more aware of my surroundings, including the Disney influencers and locals who are doing the exact same thing. If you think going to theme parks alone is a new concept, I’m here to tell you it’s most definitely not. There’s also a peacefulness about going alone, and those who do it usually have a calmer, more in-control presence about them. It makes sense, as you’re in complete control of the pace. Radiator Springs Racers Still, going alone to Disneyland is not for everyone, and loneliness is always possible. Some days I adore the freedom of going alone. Other days I can feel quite lonely and miss the company of family and friends. It really all depends on my mood that day, the conditions the resort is presenting (like crowd levels or special events), and all kinds of factors. While I can’t predict how you’d react to going alone, I definitely recommend trying it if you’re considering doing so! You’ll never know how you feel about it until you do it! Over the years, there have been hundreds of Disney attractions that have been planned but not built. However, the stories behind “Why?” are wilder for some than others! Cinderella Castle Sure, most haven’t been built for money or budget-related reasons (and truth be told, that factor comes into play in some of these stories) others have more… interesting. There’s fights with some of Hollywood’s most famous directors, a clash with a major sponsor, and even a model that allegedly made Imagineers sick to their stomachs… Candy Mountain One of the earliest recorded unbuilt Disney attractions, Candy Mountain (sometimes called Rock Candy Mountain) is one of the more bizarre ideas to come out of the Walt-era of Imagineering. The concept would see a massive mountain themed to look like gigantic candy installed in the park’s Fantasyland, with the Casey Jr. Circus Train weaving through it and the Storybookland Canal Boats sailing underneath. The mountain would have served as the finale for the latter ride, with the interior featuring dioramas of scenes from L. Frank Baum’s Land of Oz books. Candy Mountain However, Candy Mountain was never built. See, while initial plans had called for the mountain to look like translucent rock candy, that eventually changed to a concept of a mountain made up of a smorgasbord of candy including licorice, gumdrops, candy canes, and fudge. According to Imagineering legend John Hench, the model of that version made Imagineers feel ill just by looking at it. Hench described it as “unappealing plus sickly, a tummy ache waiting to happen” and eventually the whole concept was scrapped. Decades later, Disney would include a reference to the model in a window on Buena Vista Street at California Adventure. Rock Candy Mountain Window Display on Buena Vista Street Western River Expedition There’s perhaps no more mythic unbuilt attraction amongst Disney fans than the Western River Expedition. This massive attraction was going to be a full animatronic boat ride in the American West. In fact the ride – – which was to be the magnum opus of legendary Imagineer Marc Davis (Jungle Cruise, The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean) – – was to be part of Thunder Mesa, a massive show-building disguised as a mesa which would included the ride, a mine train coaster, and dominated the skyline of the Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland. Western River Expedition model. The complex was planned to open as part of Phase 2 of Walt Disney World, with preview materials on display in the park (including an animatronic owl) and even postcards produced for sale. However, things weren’t mean to be for a reason that’s especially karmically unfair to Marc Davis. You see, when the Magic Kingdom first opened, Imagineering had opted not to include a version of Pirates of The Caribbean, with the thought process being that Florida residents would have already been overexposed to pirate lore locally and would be bored by it in a theme park. Plus, since the Western River Expedition was supposed to be a similar experience (it was essentially the same ride experience, but more technologically advanced and featuring cowboys). Suffice to say, Disney miscalculated. Western River Expedition Postcard From opening day onwards, the main complaint received at the Magic Kingdom’s City Hall was “Where are the pirates?” See, Disney didn’t count on the generation of east coast residents who had grown up watching Pirates of the Caribbean episodes of the Disneyland television series and wanted to experience it themselves. Much to Marc Davis’s chagrin, the company used the funds that would have paid for the Western River Expedition to instead build Disney World’s shortened and truncated Pirates of the Caribbean. Western River Expedition concert art, While the master Imagineer, metaphorically betrayed by his greatest creation, tried to push Disney to revisit the project throughout the 1970s, its similarities to Pirates and the disastrous effect the gas crisis had on tourism doomed Western River Expedition to the dustbin of historical curiosity. Alien Encounter Today, the ExtraTERRORestial Alien Encounter is one of Disney’s most controversial defunct attractions. Despite being closed for two decades, the attraction still sparks debate between those who think it was an Imagineering masterpiece and those who think it was way too frightening for the Magic Kingdom. Turns out, a similar argument decades ago kept the original, IP-focused version of the attraction from being built in the first place. via Cinemark on X See initially, the plans for the attraction called for the alien that guests got up close and personal with to be the Xenomorph from the Alien franchise (this was around the same time that Disney used the character on The Great Movie Ride). The idea was that because guests would be familiar with the tone of the franchise, the attraction being scary wouldn’t be a surprise, and parents would know not to bring small children. So, what happened? Well, a group of Imagineers didn’t feel that the Alien settings and characters were appropriate for Disneyland or the Magic Kingdom, and went to George Lucas (yes, that George Lucas) for help. The Star Wars creator, who had worked with Imagineering on Captain EO, Star Tours, and the then-upcoming Indiana Jones attraction, allegedly convinced CEO Michael Eisner to change the concept to an original creature. ©Disney ExtraTERRORestiral Alien Encounter Ironically, losing the Xenomorph would lead to tonal issues that would eventually doom the version of the attraction that did end up opening… and closing within a decade. Mt. Fuji Roller Coaster Over the years, Disney has considered adding many ride concepts to EPCOT’s World Showcase. At one time, this included a discussion of adding a massive Mt. Fuji coaster to the park’s Japan Pavilions. Several pieces of concept art were created, however a Disney sponsor had an issue with the concept. ©Disney Kodak, who had been a Disney sponsor for decades at that point, was allegedly unhappy about the idea of having an attraction that used the name Fuji (one of their biggest rivals at the time) prominently displayed in EPCOT. Now, truth be told, we’re sure that budget issues also played a role in the project never moving forward, but still… Roger Rabbit Attractions at MGM Studios There was a time when it looked like Roger Rabbit was going to be the main character of the park now known as Hollywood Studios. At the time the park opened, the characters from Who Framed Roger Rabbit were all over the park, including on signage and as part of the Backlot Tour. However, even more was planned. A Roger Rabbit billboard at Hollywood Studios Disney wanted to build a full Roger Rabbit land at the park, including three attractions: The Toontown Trolley: A “whacky” simulator ride through Toontown piloted by Roger Rabbit himself. Baby Herman’s Runaway Baby Buggy: A dark ride attraction that would see guests ride in “giant baby carriages” themed to the Roger Rabbit short Tummy Trouble. The Benny the Cab Ride: A dark ride themed to the film that would have seen guests ride in vehicles designed to look like the anthropomorphic character Benny. This attraction would eventually evolve into one built thousands of miles away. ©Disney So, what happened? Well, to be blunt, Disney feuded with Steven Spielberg. See, the original film was a co-production between Disney and Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment. After it’s gargantuan success, several disputes broke out between the two sides over creative and financial issues regarding ownership of the characters. These would eventually lead to the MGM rides – – as well as the Roger Rabbit sequel film – – never seeing the light of day. Of note, the two parties were able to work together long enough for Disneyland’ Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin to open. Beastly Kingdom During the initial design of Animal Kingdom, the park was planned to have two areas dedicated to animals that weren’t alive on Earth. The extinct would be represented by Dinoland U.S.A. while the mythical (dragons, unicorns, etc.) were planned to make their home in the fantastical Beastly Kingdom. The land was supposed to be anchored by a massive Dragon’s Castle coaster on its ”dark side” and a maze with a unicorn animatronic in the middle on the “light” side. Concept Art for the Beastly Kingdom ©Disney So, why was the land never built? Well, it came down to money… and toys. See, taking care of live animals is expensive, and Disney relegated more of the budget than planned for the infrastructure of the park’s zoo elements. In turn, one of Dinoland or Beastly Kingdom had to be pushed to Phase 2 of the park. Then-CEO Michael Eisner chose Dinoland to be built first, as it was believed that the evergreen popularity of dinosaurs would make it a more finically successful land when it came to souvenirs and other accouterments. ©Disney Initially, plans called for Beastly Kingdom to be added to the park later. However, a funny thing happened. See, when Disney pushed the land back, many of the designers working on it were let go… and went to work for Universal, designing their then-upcoming Islands of Adventure. In fact, many elements of the original version of The Lost Continent land at that park were very similar to planned Beastly Kingdom attractions, which seemed to be the final nail in the land’s coffin. Currently, Pandora: The World of Avatar occupies the land once planned for Beastly Kingdom. ©Disney The Original Superstar Limo Superstar Limo is arguably the most universally panned Disney attraction of all time. The slow-movie dark ride – – which took guests on a slow-moving dark ride through a version of Hollywood full of terrifying caricatures of Celebrities – – was so reviled that guest approval ratings for California Adventure actually went UP when it closed less than a year after opening. Perhaps the ride turned out so bad, because it was retooled during its creation. ©The Orange County Register Initially, Superstar Limo was supposed to be a higher-speed ride, which put guests in the role of a celebrity being chased through Hollywood by paparazzi. This concept was deep into development in 1997, when the beloved Princess Diana was killed in car accident that was allegedly the result of a chase between her party’s limousine and a group of paparazzi. Suffice to say the ride needed to be rethemed quickly, and still work within the space already planned, leading to the original version. While it’s… debatable as to whether the original version would have received a better reception from guests, we’ll never have a way of knowing for sure. Drew Carey still haunts our dreams. These are just some of the wild stories behind why certain blue sky Disney concepts never saw the light of day! Stay tuned to DFB for more deep dives on Disney history! Today is a HUGE day at Disneyland Resort. The Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has officially kicked off — and we are there checking out all there is to see, do, and — of course — eat and drink. 2025 DCA Food and Wine Festival But something else is changing today in honor of the festival: a classic attraction, Soarin’, is going to be a bit different. Instead of Soarin’ Over the World, you’ll be Soarin’ Over California as of today! From now through April 21st, you’ll be able to ride Soarin’ Over California in Disney California Adventure. This journey will take you far above some of California’s most iconic sites, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, and Disneyland (of course!). There’s also one thing that makes this the superior version of Soarin’ — the transitions between scenes are SO much smoother than those in Soarin’ Around The World. Soarin at California Adventure So if you’re visiting Disney California Adventure and making your way around the Food & Wine festival there, be sure to stop by to take a quick trip over California on Soarin’ — you’ll find it in the Grizzly Park part of the park. Also, be sure to take in a deep breath when you fly over the orange groves — you’ll actually SMELL oranges. Stay tuned to DFB for more. Want to Learn More About Disneyland? Check Out the Links Below! The beautiful thing about visiting Disneyland is that it’s a chance to walk through Disney history. Disneyland Railroad You can walk down Main Street, U.S.A. and see Walt Disney’s apartment, which sits above the fire department. You can ride attractions that opened with Disneyland in 1955. You can dine at restaurants Walt once stepped foot in. You can also ride the Disneyland Railroad, which just might have been one of Walt’s favorite rides (he loved trains). However, you’ll soon be able to get a tour of the Disneyland Railroad train, which includes a chance to ride in the Lilly Belle, a special car named for Lillian Disney, because that tour is returning SOON. The Disneyland Railroad Tour will be returning as of March 21st, and reservations are available NOW on the Disneyland website. This tour is $145 per person (plus tax) for everyone over the age of 3 and includes a 90-minute tour where you’ll learn all about the Disneyland Railroad PLUS get to ride inside the exclusive Lilly Belle part of the train. Lilly Belle The tour also includes a sweet treat, a walk through the park learning all about how Walt created his ideas concerning the Disneyland Railroad, a tour of the Disneyland Park roundhouse, a meeting with a train engineer, a special keepsake, and a ride around the park inside the Lilly Belle. Lilly Belle Interior The Lilly Belle is the last remaining train car from Disneyland’s opening day. In 1976, it was converted into an exclusive car that only a select few could see and ride in. Lillian Disney herself played a large role in decorating the car — you’ll even find some of her own photographs and family belongings inside it. In 2006, the car was officially named “Lilly Belle.” This tour is one of the few ways to see it — and take a ride in it. Lilly Belle Display If you want to learn more about this classic Disneyland attraction, the Disneyland Railroad Tour is a must. Book now on the Disneyland website. Note that you will still need a valid park ticket and a park pass reservation on the date of your tour, and you’ll need to check in at least 15 minutes before the tour starts at the Tour Gardens on Main Street, U.S.A. While 2025 may be the year of Disney World closures, there are so many new offerings opening this year! Cinderella Castle This includes new stage shows, a nighttime parade, Test Track 3.0, and two ride-themed lounges! We are super excited that both of the lounges will open in Magic Kingdom and in EPCOT and are huge fans of the direction that Disney is taking as we are suckers for a ride theme! Although we can’t wait to dine at these lounges when they open later this year, we are a bit worried about this one reason. In case you missed it, Disney World will soon be home to a brand new lounge in Magic Kingdom and one in EPCOT. Let’s dive into a recap! EPCOT Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge It was initially announced in 2023 that Magic Kingdom would be getting a lounge inspired by the attraction Pirates of the Caribbean. By 2024, Disney dropped more details, concept art, and even an opening timeline for the lounge! We do not know exactly where this lounge will be; we know it will be somewhere in Adventureland and will be open by the end of 2025. ©Disney We suspect that the new lounge will replace Tortuga Tavern, but this has yet to be confirmed. Tortuga Tavern Spaceship Earth Lounge At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024, it was revealed that a new lounge themed to EPCOT’s park icon would soon be part of the park! The Spaceship Earth Lounge will be “inspired by the stories, shapes, and enduring legacy of this timeless icon.” We are happy to report that construction has already started, and the lounge is expected to open in late spring of 2025. ©Disney The lounge is set to overlook the World Celebration and even have a view of the fireworks! Spaceship Earth Lounge construction So, what’s the problem? We can’t wait to have the opportunity to dine in these two lounges, and we love that both Disney World and Disney Cruise Line are adding ride-inspired lounges. The problem? Well, just like us, many people are excited to check out these new locations, especially because they are themed after two popular attractions! This means we can expect long wait times to finally be able to go inside these lounges. Menus and reservation information have not been released. We don’t usually see lounges needing to use a reservation system. Still, we think these two lounges could use a system similar to the one used at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto If you are not familiar, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto requires you to show up in person and place your name on a wait list. People start to line up before the bar even opens to ensure they get their name on the list. Sometimes, wait times can span hours, and once you are called, you have 15 minutes to return to secure your table. Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto These lounges have the potential to have a time limit, just like Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge. Those wanting to check out the cantina have a 45-minute time limit to allow others to experience it. Once again, this is not confirmed, but it makes us nervous that these lounges could be so popular that you may have to wait a long time to enjoy them. Oga’s Cantina Late spring is right around the corner, so we will see how the Spaceship Earth Lounge handles “reservations” or if it will be on a first-come, first-served basis. We will keep an eye out for any news regarding these two lounges, so make sure to continue to follow along with the Disney Food Blog! A new booth has debuted at this year’s Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival — Mercado de Antojos! Mercado de Antojos Booth – 2025 The 2025 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has officially begun at Disneyland Resort, and there are LOTS of things to do. From now through April 21st, you can devour some tasty eats and drinks, check out unique entertainment, and more. Wondering just what you can eat at the Mercado de Antojos booth? Well, we’ve checked it out, and now we’re sharing our FULL thoughts. Menu Over at the Mercado de Antojos booth, you’ll find a savory dish, a dessert, and two cocktails! One of the drinks is a returning item from last year’s Earth Eats booth — the Watermelon Cucumber Mojito. Mercado de Antojos Menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First up, we grabbed the new Birria Mac & Cheese with onion-cilantro sauce and tortilla crunch for $9. Birria Mac & Cheese We love a good take on mac and cheese! This new dish is super creamy and cheesy, with the birria being moist and tender. The dish is topped with an onion-cilantro sauce that is very onion-forward and overpowers the other flavors. It was also topped with guacamole, which had a nice, lemony tang. The crumbled tortilla chips on top provided a nice texture difference, leaving us wanting more crunch! For the price, they give you a hefty serving that is definitely sharable, which we appreciate! It was a good dish, but we wish the onion-cilantro sauce wasn’t so heavy on the onion taste. Next up, we went to the sweet side of the menu and picked up the Café de Olla Tres Leches Cake, which is a café de olla-infused tres leches topped with piloncillo chantilly, cinnamon, and a Mickey-shaped cookie. You can snag one for $7.75. Café de Olla Tres Leches Cake Calling all coffee lovers! You’ll want to try this new tres leches cake that has the flavors of tiramisu! We loved how this cake had the consistency of tres leches but wasn’t soggy at all. The coffee taste was present but not overwhelming, but we thought they were a little heavy on the chantilly cream. With the consistency of whipped cream and with cinnamon on top, we thought the cream took away from the cake itself. We did love the adorable sugar cookie on top, though! Isn’t it pretty? We definitely loved this cake, but maybe we won’t go for all of the chantilly cream. Drinks There’s a non-boozy drink on the menu — the Raspberry Horchata made with raspberry, almond and cinnamon syrups, rice pudding, milk, and condensed milk garnished with skewered raspberries. This drink is $7.50. Raspberry Horchata This drink did not disappoint! The raspberry taste really comes through and has a perfect level of sweetness. If you love horchata, you have to try this one! We couldn’t taste the almond, but we didn’t mind, considering how balanced the other flavors were. We will be getting this drink again and again! Returning to the festival this year is the Watermelon Cucumber Mojito, which was available last year at Earth Eats. This year the drink is $18. Watermelon Cucumber Mojito The drink is made with white rum, watermelon liqueur, mojito and cucumber syrups, watermelon purée, and lime juice, topped with Topo Chico, and garnished with watermelon and Tajín twist.Last year we found it to be refreshing, even with the Tajin kick. Watermelon Cucumber Mojito The watermelon flavor is what you mostly taste, meaning this is the perfect summer drink. There’s just a hint of cucumber, so it only adds a little bit of flavor. However, you do need to be okay with a bit of spice to enjoy it. OVERALL We really enjoyed this new food booth this year! The drinks were the stand-out elements, and we think we’re going to be ordering both drinks every time we visit. The Café de Olla Tres Leches Cake was a great surprise, with the coffee flavor and the perfect texture. We weren’t obsessed with Birria Mac & Cheese, but if you try it at the festival, leave us a review in the comments! 2025 Mercado de Antojos Full Spread That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! Universal’s NEW Epic Universe theme park officially opens on May 22nd, 2025 — and to say we’re ready is an understatement. ©Bioreconstruct The new theme park will include five themed lands with new attractions, restaurants, shopping, and more. We’ve scoped out the newest updates on the construction of the park and have already stayed in one of the newest Universal hotels to put us as close to the action as possible! And now, Epic Universe has officially been added to the Universal Orlando app! We are officially ONE STEP CLOSER to the opening of Epic Universe, y’all!!! The park has been added to the Universal Orlando app, which means you can check out the FULL map of each land, along with information about rides, restaurants, shops, and more. ©Universal You’ll want to make sure you’re in the Map tab, and you can either use the map to scroll to Epic Universe or select the menu at the bottom of the map and choose “Universal Epic Universe” to be taken to the park directly. ©Universal And there she is in all her glory! You can clearly see the name of each land along with shopping and dining locations, depending on how you’ve got your map filtered at the moment. ©Universal To switch up the filters, click on the drop-down menu in the top left corner to bring up options like Attractions, Entertainment, Dining, Shop, and more. ©Universal We did notice something interesting as we were playing around in each land, though. If you click on the land’s icon, like we did with Celestial Park here, a little pop-up will come up giving you the option to click the heart and “favorite” it, but below that — it says “Virtual Line.” ©Universal It wasn’t just Celestial Park that said that, either. As we clicked through each land, we noticed they all said it. ©Universal But, then suddenly, the “Virtual Line” label disappeared from each of the lands as well. ©Universal Now, Universal hasn’t made any official announcements about any Virtual Lines — whether for attractions or to enter each land altogether — but it could be their way of managing crowds when the park first opens. In addition to limiting ticket sales for each day (and park capacity, by default), this could help keep each land from becoming unmanageable. We’re not sure if this label was added by mistake, but we’ll keep an eye on things. Either way, it’s clear that Universal is expecting full crowds and capacity for the opening of Epic Universe! ©Universal Both SUPER NINTENDO WORLD at Universal Studios Japan and Universal Studios Hollywood used virtual lines to help control crowds when they opened and demand was at an all-time high. The Wizarding Worlds of Harry Potter also restricted entry when they initially opened. You can check out more information about each land as you click through them, like SUPER NINTENDO WORLD… ©Universal …and Dark Universe! ©Universal You can even view the layout of the Helios Grand Hotel as well! ©Universal We also spotted additional ride information in the app, such as which rides will have a Single Rider line and which ones will not! Also, keep in mind that just because a ride will support a Single Rider line, it doesn’t mean that a Single Rider line will be available from day one. You can check out the list of rides with Single Rider lines below! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry — YES How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk Dragon Racer’s Rally — NO Fyre Drill — NO Hiccup’s Wing Gliders — YES SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge — YES Mine-Cart Madness — YES Yoshi’s Adventure — NO Dark Universe Curse of the Werewolf — YES Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment — YES Celestial Park Constellation Carousel — NO Stardust Racers — YES We will continue to be on the lookout for news regarding more Epic Universe news, so make sure to continue to follow along with us here at the Disney Food Blog! Creative beverages inspired by breakfast foods? Unique Hawaiian-inspired munchies?Plant-based dessert for the sweet tooth? Golden Dreams food booth The 2025 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has officially begun at Disneyland Resort, and there are LOTS of things to do. From now through April 21st, you can devour some tasty eats and drinks, check out unique entertainment, and more. Wondering just what you can eat at the Golden Dreams booth? Well, we’ve checked it out, and now we’re sharing our FULL thoughts. Menu Over at Golden Dreams, this booth is serving up snacks, bites, and drinks that have been dreamed up in the odd catacombs of your wildest imagination. Golden Dreams Clustering these three delicious yet random items on the same menu was not on our bingo card this year, but we’re here for it. Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! ©Disney Eats First up, we grabbed Musubi Fried Rice for $8.50. This new festival item is an Aulani Resort-inspired steamed rice with egg, glazed spiced ham, umami mayo, and furikake. We loved all the different textures and flavors of this rice. The ham has a little bit of a kick, but it’s not super spicy. You also get a hint of seaweed flavor with the rice. The umami mayo has a rich flavor and combines all the flavors together. The rice and egg were cooked perfectly. Musubi Fried Rice Wrapping the nosh on this menu, we grabbed the Cherry Cobbler Pot de Creme for $7.50. This plant-based festival item is Vanilla custard, cherry filling, and oat crumble. This basically tasted like a vanilla pudding topped with a sweet and tart cherry compote. It’s comforting, though, simple and tasty. There’s also plenty of oat crumble topping. Cherry Cobbler Pot de Crème Okay, now that we’ve had some eats…let’s get to drinks! Drinks Returning to this booth this year is the tasty little beverage that we’ve seen at this festival for a few years now. This is the Blueberry Pancake Cold Brew for $7.25. This drink is a Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Mexico Origin Coffee, with maple, brown butter & demerara syrup, oat milk, and a blueberry sweet cream (made with cream, oat milk, vanilla syrup, blueberry syrup, and purée). This coffee is garnished with cinnamon-flavored cereal crumble. Blueberry Pancake Cold Brew When we tried it in the past, we thought it was a smidge underwhelming. This year, we really didn’t get much blueberry flavor until we mixed the drink up, but the main flavor is still just the cold brew. Although it’s Mexico-origin coffee, we thought it tasted about the same as Joffrey’s other cold brew options across the parks. Although the drink is sweet, we also didn’t get a strong maple flavor from it. OVERALL Overall, we’d come to this booth again for the two food items, but maybe not the drink, as it really didn’t wow us. Sometimes, a vacation to Disney World does not always feel like a vacation. Welcome to Disney World! There is so much to see and do around the resort that you may feel exhausted. Plus, you have to worry about Advance Dining Reservations, transportation, Lightning Lane selections, and so much more. While it can feel like you have to follow all the unspoken Disney World rules, we are here to tell you that it is more than okay to relax as we always break this one Disney World rule, and we are giving you the go-ahead to break it too! It is no secret that park tickets to Disney World can be expensive, and we totally understand wanting to squeeze the most time out of your park day. We also know that it can be challenging to fit all the rides, snacks, and character meet and greets into one day; that’s why some people like to get a head start and beat the crowds by rope dropping. Hollywood Studios at rope drop Rope dropping is when you get to the park before it officially opens. In most cases, you will go through security and scan your ticket to be let into the park before opening. Then, you will wait for a rope to drop—yes, a physical rope drops in front of certain areas of the park to allow guests into the park for the day. What No One Tells You About Rope Drop in Disney World Rope dropping lines at Magic Kingdom While rope dropping can give you a head start to your park day, it can be exhausting. Not only do you have to wake up early, but you also have to worry about transportation, parking, and security, all while trying to beat the crowds of people also trying to rope drop. Rope drop crowds If you are staying at a Disney World resort, you can partake in Early Theme Park Entry, which takes place even earlier than rope drop! While this is a great perk, it unfortunately can equal less sleep to get up in time to participate. Magic Kingdom rope drop crowd We are here to tell you that it is more than okay to NOT rope drop. You are on vacation, and you deserve to rest! We can’t lie; many of our team members rarely rope drop when they visit the parks for fun. It can be super stressful to fight through the crowds and get to the park on time. Rope drop in World Showcase at EPCOT If you can’t part ways with rope dropping altogether, that is okay. We know it can be an essential part of Disney World vacations, but perhaps you can consider giving yourself a break. For example, maybe you don’t have to rope drop every park day. But if you do want to participate in the art of rope dropping and getting the most out of your park days, we have plenty of resources on our site, like how to ride everything at Disney World! We are also huge advocates for taking a rest day in between park days! Rest days can be a great way to recharge and explore other parts of Disney World outside of the park. You can spend the day relaxing at your resort’s pool or at one of Disney World’s water parks. Or you can head to Disney Springs for a day of shopping. Blizzard Beach While we know it may seem crazy to not rope drop, sometimes saving your energy and sleeping in can help you enjoy your vacation even more! If you’re hungry, you have been WARNED. Seriously, reading this post while having a rumbly in your tumbly may be dangerous and cause you to book a trip to Disneyland ASAP. Still willing to read on? Okay, then let’s get into the delicious details! LA Style The 2025 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has officially begun at Disneyland Resort, and there are LOTS of things to do. From now through April 21st, you can devour some tasty eats and drinks, check out unique entertainment, and more. Wondering just what you can eat at the LA Style booth? Well, we’ve checked it out, and now we’re sharing our FULL thoughts. Menu Over at the LA Style you’ll find a variety of available items – and most of them are NEW this year! LA Style Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! ©Disney Eats First up, we grabbed Mini LA Street Dog for $8! This spin on a hot dog is served with jalapeño mayo, pepper and onion relish, Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Bacon, and crispy onions. Mini LA Street Dog The first thing we tasted was the jalapeno mayo in this dog, and boy, does it have a kick! It’s chock-full of flavor, though! The hot dog has a good crunch, and the pepper and onion relish offers a different texture to make it all work together! The bun is soft and fluffy (not toasted), which was key to pulling off its success. This was a fun snack! Next up, we tried the Western BBQ Burger Bao for $9.50! This “east meets west” snack is served with sweet barbecue sauce, Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Bacon, and crispy onions. Western BBQ Burger Bao It tastes just like a Western bacon cheeseburger! The ground beef is moist, and the bao is fluffy! We loved the textures within it, from the fried crispy onions to the savory warm bacon. The flavors worked really well together and made for a symphony that our taste buds could sing the praises of! This one was definitely worth a sip and savor credit at $9.50, but we wouldn’t recommend trying to share it. Drinks And you can’t have an LA-inspired meal without an LA-inspired cocktail. Lucky for us, those fabulous West Coast Disney chefs and mixologists put together a Cantarito-Style Paloma for $17.25. We saw this cocktail a few years ago at the Peppers Cali-ente booth. This creative cocktail is made with Reposado tequila, lime, and habanero-infused pineapple juices, rock melon syrup, and Fresca garnished with a pineapple wheel and Tajín. When we had it last time, it reminded us of a spicy margarita. Cantarito-Style Paloma This was a refreshing drink to sip!! It’s tart with a little kick (the bigger the gulps the more the kick) and bubbly from the Fresca. This drink could spell trouble for you though, because it tastes like a refreshing juice versus a drink with tequila!! We thought this one was absolutely delicious and if all that’s your vibe, you’ll probably enjoy this! OVERALL Overall, we really enjoyed everything we tried at this booth. There was even one menu item that really stood out to us as a great value for the sip and savor credits! If you like a little bit of spice to kick your food, LA Style is a booth you’ve got to try out. Full Spread 2025 Menu That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! Magic Kingdom is Disney World’s original theme park, and there are so many hidden details throughout. Magic Kingdom There is more to the park than just enjoying attractions and rides and snacking your way through the park. We go to Disney World every day, which means we have learned to take in and enjoy other parts of the park that people usually don’t notice while they are trying to squeeze everything in on their must-do list. We are always on the lookout for fun things, and there are three activities that we consider some of the best things to do in Disney World’s castle park. And the best part? They’re FREE! Main Street Smellephants on Parade Storybook Circus in Fantasyland got a brand new addition last May. Throughout the land, you will see different elephants disguised as some of our favorite snacks. Scentsy presents this offering, so this crossover makes perfect sense, albeit still a bit weird. Smellephants on Parade You can pick up your scavenger hunt map for free at the ticket booth in front of Big Top Souvenirs. Once you have your map, you can go around Storybook Circus and match the eight stickers to their respective elephants. You can only get your map between 10 AM and 6 PM, but even if you visit Storybook Circus after 6 PM, you can still go around and find all the Smellephants. SMELLEPHANTS!!! Find Pascal in Fantasyland Smellephants on Parade is not the only scavenger hunt in Fantasyland. Located way on the opposite side of Storybook Circus, near the entrance to Haunted Mansion, you will find arguably the most famous bathrooms at Disney World. These bathrooms are themed after the movie Tangled. While we are happy that there is Tangled representation in the parks, come on, Disney, this movie deserves more than just a bathroom! Tangled bathrooms in Fantasyland Anyways, Pascal is Rapunzel’s sidekick, and he is a chameleon. These animals are known for camouflaging themselves to fit their surroundings. So hidden around the Tangled bathrooms are ten Pascals. There is no official map to keep track of which ones you find, but it is still a fun and free activity! We won’t post any spoilers in this post, but if you want the answer key, you can find it here. Look for Pascal! A Pirate’s Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas There is yet another free scavenger hunt in the Magic Kingdom located in Adventureland. Now, this one is the most interactive of them all, and we are shocked that more people don’t know about it! Adventureland In order to participate, you will want to head to the Crow’s Nest, which is located near Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe. It is open daily from 12 PM to 6 PM. Once inside, you will pick up your talisman. Your MagicBand can also act as your talisman, but either way, it must be activated at the Crow’s Nest. Once you have your talisman, you will bae able to read a secret treasure map. A Pirate’s Adventure There are five missions that you can go on throughout Adventureland, and each one takes about 20 minutes to complete. There is no time limit, so you can start and stop each mission throughout the day. You can start a mission up to 30 minutes before Adventureland closes. A Pirate’s Adventure The next time you are in Magic Kingdom and looking to do something new, consider participating in these three scavenger hunts. A new exclusive version of ESPN’s flagship program SportsCenter is coming to Disney+! ©Disney In late February 2025, Disney announced that SC+ would be debuting on the streaming service on Monday, March 3rd. According to Disney’s release, the fast-paced update will highlight “each day’s top sports moments, stories, insights and exclusive commentary in a more concise and streamlined format.” The weekday edition of this latest expansion of the SportsCenter franchise will be hosted by Gary Striewski and Randy Scott. The show will be streamed live beginning at 9:00 AM EST, and each day’s episode will be available on demand on Disney+ for 24 hours. Hannah Storm and Jay Harris will host SC+ on weekends, with the program streaming live, following the conclusion of their SportsCenter: AM telecast on ESPN. SC+ be built around “the highly popular “SC Top 10” daily countdown of sports moments” and the broadcast will “deliver the most important sports news stories of the day, complemented by insights from ESPN’s top insiders and reporters” all of which is designed to appeal to a more casual, entertainment-focused audience. ©ESPN/Disney Mike Foss, Senior Vice President, Studio & Entertainment for the company said of the announcement, “It’s an absolute honor to take one of ESPN’s most-prestigious and historic brands in SportsCenter and infuse it with the energy and creativity afforded by Disney+. SC+ endeavors to tell the best stories in sports daily in an unforgettable way. This fresh approach, combined with the expansive reach of Disney+, will resonate whether you are an ardent sports fan or looking for something new after your latest series binge.” Alisa Bowen, the President of Disney+, added “ESPN has long defined excellence in sports programming, and now Disney+ subscribers will have daily access to the most exciting sports news, moments, and stories.” The addition of SC+ to the Disney+ library is seemingly part of Disney’s larger strategy to grow its streaming subscription base by appealing to those at least casually interested in sports. Currently, standalone Disney+ subscribers have access to “a curated selection of content from ESPN+ and Hulu including live sports events, studio shows, ESPN Originals, TV series and films — all in one place.” Subscribers to the Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ have access to the full library of ESPN+ content, including “more than 30,000 live sports events yearly and a library of on-demand replays and acclaimed original content and studio programming.” ©Disney A brand new iteration of SportsCenter, SC+, is coming to Disney+ as the company tries to appeal to casual sports fan subscribers. Another norovirus outbreak has hit Holland America Line for the third time this year. ©Holland America According to USA Today, it was reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that nearly 90 people got sick, including 79 passengers and nine crew members. Holland America’s Eurodam ship departed Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on February 19th for a 10-day Caribbean cruise with scheduled stops in Turks and Caicos, the Dominican Republic, Aruba, and more — but almost 90 people didn’t have the trip they had planned. ©Holland America A Holland America spokesperson said that the “cases were mostly mild and quickly resolved.” “We initiated enhanced sanitation protocols in conjunction with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to minimize further transmission, including continuous disinfection of the ship,” they said in a statement. They also isolated sick passengers and employees, among other measures, according to the CDC. ©Holland America This most recent case marks the eighth gastrointestinal illness outbreak on cruises to meet the CDC’s threshold for public notification so far this year — with three of them being on Holland America ships. ©Holland America Back in December, more than 300 people contracted the virus on three different vessels. Those who got sick back then were on Princess Cruises’ Ruby Princess on a trip around Hawaii, as well as Holland America’s Rotterdam and Zuiderdam cruises. In 2025, seven cruise ships sailing out of the U.S. have reported outbreaks of illness to the CDC so far. Royal Caribbean reported the spread of a “gastrointestinal illness” onboard the Radiance of the Seas, which sailed out of Tampa. ©Holland America “Norovirus can be especially challenging to control on cruise ships because of the close living quarters, shared dining areas and rapid turnover of passengers,” the CDC website states. “When the ship docks, norovirus can be brought on board in contaminated food or water; or by passengers who were infected while ashore.” With norovirus being so contagious, you might want to know what to do to protect yourself on a cruise. One easy preventative measure is to wash your hands often, including after using the toilet and changing diapers, before eating or handling food, and before giving yourself or someone else any medication. One thing you’ll need to note is that hand sanitizer does not do a great job of preventing norovirus, so you’ll want to use soap and water when you can. Cruise port We’ll continue to keep an eye on these norovirus outbreaks and let you know of any other potential cases that could impact your next vacation. February has been a pretty big month for Disney! Disney Springs Construction took a step forward for the new Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure both just switched from a Virtual Queue to a standby line (which has been met with mixed reviews, to say the least), and so much more. There’s one bit of news though that we were truly thrilled to hear Disney make, because we’ll be honest, we’ve been waiting for this announcement for FIVE YEARS. Over in Disney Springs, you’ll find a large empty building that used to be home to the NBA Experience, which opened in August 2019 (yep, just a few months before those park closures). The signage has long been removed from this location, but it’s now sat empty for close to five years. NBA Experience However, before it was the NBA Experience, it was open as the beloved DisneyQuest attraction from June 19th, 1998 to July 2nd, 2017. This was an elaborate, multi-floored complex that was filled with engaging virtual reality-style attractions and activities. For many years, it was a massive hit, but slowly it fell out of interest due to the lack of upkeep and upgrades to the equipment. The Smokehouse across from Disney Quest Despite it being out of date for many years before it officially closed, many Disney fans really miss this attraction and have been sad the building has been kept empty for so long, and we couldn’t agree more! That’s why we were THRILLED to hear Disney announce that a NEW interactive attraction is going into this building! ©Disney It’s not DisneyQuest, but we’ll take it. The building will soon be home to LEVEL99, which is a “real-world, challenge-based, social entertainment” geared towards ADULTS! There are multiple different locations all around the country, and we’re personally so excited one will be coming to Disney World. ©LEVEL99 What we really love about this is that there will be challenges that cater to all different interests. With the NBA Experience, it really only geared towards those who were passionate about basketball or sports in general, but here, as long as you’re ready to be put to the test and have a great time, it’ll be a hit! ©LEVEL99 The Disney Springs location will be the largest LEVEL99 to date with over 60 activities and challenge rooms to try out, and it’ll also feature a chef-crafted menu which includes LEVEL99’s award-winning, Detroit-style pizza. While we don’t know much about this particular location just yet, we’re expecting it to have a mix of the type of activities the others do which include challenge rooms, duels (head to head challenges), and art hunts (scavenger hunts). ©LEVEL99 We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest news we hear about this location, so stay tuned to DFB! Hong Kong Disneyland is preparing to celebrate a milestone anniversary in 2025, as Disney’s theme park located in China is set to turn 20! Castle of Magical Dreams at Hong Kong Disneyland In honor of its big birthday, the park is launching the Most Magical Party of All, a year-long star-studded event featuring “an all-new parade to a special anniversary edition of “Momentous” and so much more!” Some of the special anniversary offerings are scheduled to include: A brand new show in front of the Castle of Magical Dreams featuring Mickey and Friends, Duffy and Friends, and the Disney Princesses. ©Hong Kong Disneyland A brand new daytime parade, Friendtastic!, will be the largest ever in the park’s history. The parade will feature 11 party floats featuring Disney characters ranging from classic characters like Mickey and Friends… ©Hong Kong Disneyland …to modern icons like Encanto! ©Hong Kong Disneyland Each night at the park will culminate in a 20th-anniversary version of the nighttime spectacular Momentous. According to Disney, this 20th-anniversary edition “will be the perfect way to celebrate the day-to-night party, complete with majestic projections extending down Main Street, U.S.A. and enchanting drone technology.” ©Hong Kong Disneyland In addition, Disney has promised a ”wide array of party elements created just for the anniversary, including dazzling new 20th anniversary outfits for Mickey and Friends, along with Duffy and his friends.” ©Hong Kong Disneyland Hong Kong Disneyland first opened on September 12th, 2025. While the park was initially derided for a lack of rides and featuring a direct copy of Disneyland’s castle, it has evolved a great deal in the last two decades. Additional lands like Toy Story Land, Grizzly Gulch, Mystic Point, and World of Frozen have filled out the park’s roster, while the castle was radically transformed into the Castle of Magical Dreams. Mystic Manor That evolution only continues today, as the park’s Marvel-themed Stark Expo continues to expand, including an upcoming Spider-Man attraction. A brand-new Spider-Man attraction will delight guests as the newest pavilion comes to Stark Expo at Hong Kong Disneyland. Hong Kong Disneyland is set to celebrate the park’s 20th anniversary with a slew of special offerings over the next year. Stay tuned to DFB for more on this milestone. Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs This cake slice is a peanut butter cake with a thick marshmallow buttercream and a sprinkling of candied peanuts and peanut butter mini chips. Based on the popular peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich, this cake looks thick, fluffy, and delicious. Secret Fluffernutter Cake Slice We tried this cake last year (when it was also top secret) and despite our slice being a tad dry, the flavors were incredible. The peanut butter chips between layers added a nice crunch. The fluffernutter flavors are spot on so if that’s one of your favorite treats, it’s definitely worth stopping by! Fluffernutter Cake The Fluffernutter cake is available at both locations, Disney Springs and East End Market, but only if you use the secret password. We love their cake slices, fresh-baked cookies, cold brew, and really anything they have to offer. This store can get a long line, so you might want to get there early and be prepared to wait. We also love to pick up one of their menu cards, which have a different design each month! Gideon’s Menu Card Their cookies are big, weighing almost half a pound, and are topped with fun ingredients like chocolate chips, fruit, candies, and more! While you might want to take a whole cookie for yourself, they’re also great to share or eat throughout the day. Each month brings new flavors for cookies, cakes, and cold brew. February focused on strawberry and cherry-flavored treats with spice for Valentine’s Day and even had a Mocha Nitro Cold Brew with a touch of heat.
