Well, it’s been an exciting week in Disney World. EPCOT The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially kicked off, and we were there LIVE, eating all the things (like ALL the things), checking out the cheese crawl (who doesn’t love a good cheese crawl), and watching the first Eat to the Beat concert of the festival. It’s been FUN! However, a different kind of fun is coming to Disney World, and that’s a long holiday weekend. However, we want to warn you about something that could potentially affect that fun: crowds! This weekend is Labor Day weekend, and in the past, this weekend has brought huge crowds to Disney World. It’s a long weekend for a lot of folks, so not only do you have people traveling to Disney World to spend some time in the parks, but it’s also a good opportunity for locals to visit the parks, too. So, if you’re coming to Disney World this weekend, you’ve been warned. Labor Day 2022 So, what can you do to deal with the crowds? Well, keep your expectations low and have a plan for your priority rides, restaurants, and experiences. If you plan on dining at quick-service locations, use Mobile Order at those locations that have it. Pro tip: put your order in earlier than normal so your meal or snack will be ready when you’re ready for it. Many shops also have Mobile Checkout, which could speed up your shopping process. Mobile Checkout at Creations Shop in EPCOT For rides, consider purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass to skip the long standby lines. You might also want to consider purchasing Lightning Lane Single Passes for those rides that offer it if they’re a priority. You can even take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry if you’re staying at a participating hotel or rope drop if you’re not. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Lightning Lane sign According to ABC News, the TSA is anticipating that a whopping 17 million people will be screened at airports from August 29th through September 4th, up 8.4 percent from last year. We can imagine a lot of those folks will be headed to Orlando International Airport, so you’ll want to prepare for crowds there, too, if you’re flying this weekend. Orlando International Airport You might also want to use TSA PreCheck if you have it or take advantage of Orlando International Airport’s FREE MCO Reserve, which lets you skip the long lines at security to reserve a specific time to go through a shorter line. ©Orlando International Airport If you’re driving to Disney World, the worst travel time on August 30th is from 2PM to 6PM. The busiest time on the rodes on September 2nd will be from 11AM to 8PM. However, the good news is that AAA said that drivers will be paying less for gas this year. This time last year, the average price was $3.81 per gallon. This year, it’s expected to be around $3.50 per gallon. Driving to Disney World So remember to bring a lot of patience with you if you’re traveling to Disney World! Disney announced that the Tropical Americas will be coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and we couldn’t be more hyped about it! The Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom With the DinoLand, U.S.A. re-theme, we’ll be getting experiences inspired by both Encanto and Indiana Jones coming to the new land! Specifically focusing in on Encanto, there will be an attraction inside the Casita and we’ve got to talk about it! Disney will be taking us all to the new town of Pueblo Esperanza in the Tropical Americas land which will take the place of DinoLand, U.S.A. The new town Esperanza will be situated in Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The town features classic Spanish-style architecture in the heart of the rainforest. ©Disney In this new town, we’ll not only find all sorts of beautiful biodiversity, but also the Casita straight from the film in all its glory! A new attraction themed after the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Encanto” follows Antonio the day after he received his magical gift – the ability to communicate with animals and is situated in the new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. ©Disney The Casita is going to be the home for an all-new ride featuring the Madrigal family. Specifically, Disney has said that this ride takes place after, “Antonio has just received his special gift — the ability to communicate with animals — and his room has transformed into a rainforest. It’s time to go explore alongside him, and you never know what member of the family you might bump into…” A new attraction themed after the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Encanto” follows Antonio the day after he received his magical gift – the ability to communicate with animals and is situated in the new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. ©Disney If that concept art is any indication, it’s possible that this new ride will be a trackless ride like a number of other attractions across the parks like Rise of the Resistance, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Also, it appears that the ride vehicle could have four rows. ©Disney The ride looks like it will be a visual treat with its rainforest setting… ©Disney …and all the fantastical creatures that we’ll meet like these toucans and capybaras. ©Disney It might make more sense for Disney to use projection mapping to drop us right into Antonio’s bedroom world in Encanto as opposed to using traditional animatronics, which would make the ride a bit more like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway over Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Construction on this new land will begin this fall and is planned to open in 2027. We even got to see a 3-D model of the new ride at the D23 event. The model looks amazing! While we don’t get a look inside of the Casita, it still is extremely detailed and looks incredible! Casita I mean, just look at the details like the magic candle that can be seen in the Casita window if we zoom in. Will we be seeing the magic candle from the inside while we’re on the ride too? The candle! Here’s what the Casita would look like at scale in Pueblo Esperanza. We can’t wait to see this and all the surrounding trees and plants. Here’s what it looks like within the land Since we don’t have full details on how long this ride will be, let’s have a look at some examples of other trackless ride times in Disney World. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure — 5 minutes Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway — 7 minutes Rise of the Resistance — 20 minutes We’re not saying that it’s going to be another whole production that lasts about 20 minutes, but it could be somewhere between that 5-7 minute mark just based on these examples. Overview of Pueblo Esperanza coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom If you couldn’t tell, we’re super excited to adventure in the Encanto world and get on this new ride! We’re going to be watching for more details, so keep following DFB for more all the latest! If you are reading this post while hungry, BE WARNED. Seriously, we’re not joking! You’re willing to keep reading? Okay, well then — we’ve got some DELICIOUS details to share with you! The Alps Booth The 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially begun, and there is a lot to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you. We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — The Alps — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out! Menu Over at The Alps, you’ll find a variety of available items — but mostly cheese! There are a couple of Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese dishes with various accompaniments. Oh, did we mention the Dark Chocolate Fondue dessert?! Yeah, cheese & chocolate make this a must-do food booth! 2024 Menu for The Alps Booth Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First up, we grabbed the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Alpine Ham, Baby Potatoes, Cornichons, and a Baguette for $5.75. Note that this is part of Emile’s Fromage Montage cheese crawl this year! In years past, we thought it was super filling and delicious, and we especially loved the tangy crunch from the cornichons. So how does this dish hold up in 2024? Warm Swiss Cheese Raclette It’s really hard to go wrong with this, especially if you’re a cheese fan. It’s definitely a strong cheese that some might call stinky, but that doesn’t mean it’s not delicious. It’s best when you eat it right away — before the cheese has had a chance to stiffen up. The potatoes are cooked well and the ham is perfectly smokey and salty. The baguette is soft and really nice when slathered in cheese — but what isn’t? SO cheesy The Raclette is a Food & Wine Festival classic for a reason. Hello — it’s CHEESE! This is a hot, savory snack that feels like a warm, comforting hug. It’s a great portion size; thanks to the ham, we felt nice and full after enjoying this dish. Hot tip: pay attention as they’re preparing your food here! The chefs slice the cheese right off the wheel in front of you, so you can see the cheese melt into a gooey pile of deliciousness live and in person. You can also get the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Baby Potatoes, Cornichons, and a Baguette (which is the same as the last one, just without the ham) for $5.25. This dish is also part of Emile’s Fromage Montage cheese crawl, so make sure to get your stamp if you buy this one! Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Baby Potatoes, Cornichons and Baguette We also grabbed the Dark Chocolate Fondue with Berries, Pound Cake, and Meringues for $6. This is a crowd-pleasing returner from 2023, and we’re SO glad it’s back! It’s a fun little dessert with melted chocolate, pound cake, and berries and when combined with the chocolate everything just tastes SO good. Dark Chocolate Fondue with berries, pound cake, and meringues Now let’s check out the drinks! Drinks We got the Frozen Rosé, which cost $9. We liked the balance of dry and sweet flavors in this drink last year, and this year we felt the same! If you’ve ever had Frozen Rosé before, this one tastes the same as every other Rosé drink we’ve tried before. It’s easy to drink, light, and sweet. Our reporter who tried this said that it was the best drink she had tried all day. Frozen Rose You can also grab the Stiegl Brewery Key Lime Radler from Salzburg, Austria, for $5.75/6oz or $9.75/120z. This is a surprising Key Lime beer. It tends to be more floral than fruity in terms of flavor. This beer is definitely on the sweet side; it’s light and refreshing. It’s not as sweet as cider, so don’t expect to drink a cider-like drink here. Stiegl Brewery Key Lime Radler So, is the Alps booth a hit again? OVERALL YES! Of course, we’re partial because of all the cheese but that’s what makes this booth such a winner for us year after year. We also really enjoyed the chocolate fondue and when it comes to refreshing drinks on a hot day, the frozen rose is a must. The Alps Full Spread That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! Click here to see FULL reviews of EVERY. SINGLE. BOOTH. at the Food & Wine Festival! There is one quick-service restaurant that probably gets the most hate, but some of us actually like it, and it is finally time to share our truth. Cosmic Ray’s Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is a quick-service option in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland. Here, you will find quick American bites like cheeseburgers and chicken tenders. We have posted about how our readers say to skip Cosmic Ray’s, but we have four reasons why we actually love to eat at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. Cosmic Ray’s is actually a pretty popular place to grab a bite to eat at Magic Kingdom, especially during the lunch rush, and while people may just visit Cosmic Ray’s for the convince of a quick Magic Kingdom meal, some of us actually seek out Cosmic Ray’s for a meal. Cosmic Ray’s Cosmic Ray’s is a Good Place to Eat for Picky Eaters Cosmic Ray’s menu may not be spectacular, but it does offer many safe options for picky eaters. As we mentioned, it serves dishes like cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, and fries. But there are also more elevated options like Greek Salad and a spicy chicken sandwich. Chicken Tenders at Cosmic Ray’s If you want to know you are going to like the food, then Cosmic Ray’s is the place to go because you can’t go wrong with the classics that they serve here. Although it may not satisfy super adventurous eaters, everyone in your party should be able to find something to enjoy. There are even plant-based options here as well. Plant-based Patty Melt There are Always Mobile Order Windows Cosmic Ray’s is a very big dining location and can take in a lot of orders both in person and on the My Disney Experience app through Mobile Order. Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe Mobile Order Pick-Up Since it is a larger dining location, it is usually pretty easy to find a Mobile Order window for Cosmic Ray’s. You may have some issues finding the exact time you want during the lunch rush, but most other times, it is not difficult to find a Mobile Order window. Mobile Order Pick Up Area at Cosmic Ray’s This makes Cosmic Ray’s a quick option for ordering, especially if other quick-service Mobile Order windows are already taken. It is not always guaranteed that a Mobile Order slot will be available, but in most cases, you will be able to find one. Cosmic Ray’s Mobile Order Cosmic Ray’s Gets Fun Holiday Offerings During Party Season and during the holiday season, Cosmic Ray’s is usually home to a few fun specialty items. Full Spread of Christmas Party Offerings at Cosmic Ray’s For example, this year at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you can find the Sinister Satay Burger, a Cocoa-rubbed All-Beef Patty with Bacon, Lime Pickles, and Thai Peanut Sauce, and the Halloween Pot Roast Sandwich with Cheddar and Horseradish Mayonnaise served on a Black Bun at Cosmic Ray’s.There are even three other specialty offerings at Cosmic Ray’s during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which makes it a great place to stop to get multiple party exclusive offerings in one place. REVIEW: Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe DID NOT MISS at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World 2023 Offerings In past years, at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and sometimes even during regular park operating hours, you can get your sandwich or cheeseburger with a Santa Mickey Mouse toasted on the bun! Santa Mickey! You Get Serenaded by the Man Himself, Sonny Eclipse Alright, this is probably the top reason to dine at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. Resident entertainer Sonny Eclipse can serenade you. It’s Sonny Eclipse! Sonny Eclipse is an animatronic vocalist who performs throughout the day at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. If we are able to find a table in the dining room where he is located, that is always our go-to spot to see him perform! Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe While we know that this is a very controversial take, you can’t deny that Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is a safe, go-to, quick-service location in the Magic Kingdom. Police responded to an incident in Magic Kingdom at Disney World as the park was closing this evening. Magic Kingdom gate Multiple posts on social media starting at about 10:15PM on August 29th indicated that Magic Kingdom visitors were being guided through stores to backstage areas and in some instances being held backstage before they could exit the park. Those traveling to the Ticket and Transportation Center were being led to buses — the monorail and ferry boats are apparently closed at the time of this post. Donna Vivino, who was visiting Magic Kingdom at the time of the incident, told us she was escorted through a backstage exit, and there were “tons of cops” on the scene. Vivino said that Disney World Cast Members were keeping people away from an area in front of the Main Street Confectionery, and that some people were “very shaken up” because they believed they heard gunshots. Again, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has said this was not a shooting incident. Vivino went to the Contemporary Resort to wait for an Uber, and she said that all the music was turned off in the park and is turned off at the resort — making the whole scene more eerie feeling. Another DFB reader in the park tonight said they were walking near Tomorrowland Terrace when they encountered “a herd of people running for their life.” They said that many people did not know what they were running from — they just started running because others were. If you’re a big fan of poutine, you’ll need to stop by the Refreshment Port booth! A fan-favorite poutine is back again for 2024 along with some new drinks! 2023 Refreshment Port It’s officially time for the 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, which means lots of food booths, merchandise, and more. We’re checking it all out, and now we’re heading to Refreshment Port to let you know whether or not it’s worth a visit! Menu Over at the Refreshment Port booth, you’ll a returning poutine along with a couple of new drinks and some returning drinks too. 2024 Refreshment Port Menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First up, we grabbed the Braised Beef Poutine. This one is made of French fries with braised beef, Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese sauce, cheese curds, and gherkin relish. This item cost $10.00. This is a returning item for the festival from years past and we’ve really enjoyed it before. Braised Beef Poutine Last year we really liked how big the portion size was and the savory taste was a welcomed change to all the sweet and sugary treats we’d had through the day. This year, we think it was the best thing we tried at Refreshment Port. The dish was very hearty, the mushroom flavor was incredibly earthy, and the snack was perfectly creamy and delicious. The cheese was plentiful but the curds were a bit tough to navigate through. Still, the texture was wonderful and all the flavors were very present. Braised Beef Poutine The relish adds a nice acidity to the dish that helps cut through how buttery and rich the rest of this poutine is. We’d eat this 100 times over! However, we recommend eating this later in the day and not when the park is at its hottest — this snack is best eaten when the weather is slightly cooler. Drinks The first new drink for this year is the Boulevard Beverage Company Quirk Ginger Grape Fizz Hard Seltzer for $12.00. This drink was rough. It was way too tart with too much zing. When you think of seltzer you think of something bubbly and light, but this had almost too much overpowering flavor to the point it offended our tastebuds. In our opinion, you’ve got to passionately love tart grape to dig this drink. Boulevard Beverage Company Quirk Ginger Grape Fizz Hard Seltzer Next up is the second new drink at the booth — the Boyd & Blair Pumpkin Spice Mule. You can get this for $12.00. This drink was another misstep. It tasted like a can of pumpkin spice seasoning and was way too much in our faces — and this is coming from fans of pumpkin spice season! The theme of these drinks is that they didn’t know when to pull back, to their own detriment. The ideas were there, but the execution was flawed. If you like more over, in-your-face drinks, you might enjoy these more than we did. Boyd & Blair Pumpkin Spice Mule The final drink on the menu is the returning Florida Orange Groves Winery Sparkling Peach for $11.00. This drink was so refreshing when we’ve had it in the past! It’s incredibly delicate and light, which makes for a nice change from the poutine. It’s not too heavy and would make for a nice beverage to sip on a hot EPCOT day. Florida Orange Groves Winery Sparkling Peach Lastly, this booth offers the CORKCICLE Stemless Flute. OVERALL Stop by Refreshment Port if you love poutine and sparkling peach wine! Avoid if you’re looking for more subtle snacks and drinks. While the poutine is something we highly recommend, we’d be lying if we didn’t say the new drinks at Refreshment Port didn’t put us off. Overall, we found these offerings to be as average as it gets. Still, taste is subjective and if you think these offerings are something you and your family would be into, you should give them a chance! Refreshment Port Spread That’s all that’s offered at this booth this year but there’s still so much to explore around the other festival booths, for the latest in Disney news, stay tuned with us at Disney Food Blog as we bring you the rest of the booth offerings! Every time we took a bite we got to taste different flavors, which made it all come together for an amazing bite. Tostada de Camarones We would say this is like shrimp tacos but 10 times better. It came with three huge pieces of fried shrimp that were fried perfectly. The shell on the bottom even stayed crispy even with all the toppings. This was SO GOOD. Flauta de Barbacoa at Mexico The Flauta de Barbacoa is fried tortillas filled with barbacoa beef topped with salsa verde, crema Mexicana, and queso fresco. Our reporter who tried this normally does not like flautas, but they said that this dish was amazing! The corn fry was light and airy and not greasy at all. It is stuffed with juicy and delicious marinated meat. Flauta de Barbacoa The salsa was our favorite part. It had a little kick to it, and when combined with the cheese, this whole dish just melts in your mouth. Pan de Elote at Mexico Pan de Elote is a traditional Mexican cornbread topped with chocolate sauce and queso fresco. This was UNBELIEVABLE! The cornbread was super moist and was similar to the texture of a tres leches cake. Pan de Elote The chocolate combined with the raspberry on top gave it a fruity tartness. This honestly might be one of the best desserts we have ever had at the Food and Wine Festival. See Even MORE of Our Mexico Review Grilled Cider-brined Pork Tenderloin at Bramblewood Bites Bramblewood Bites is a new booth to the festival, and it debuted with a BANG! The Grilled Cider-brined Pork Tenderloin with fennel apple slaw and apple cider gastrique easily made this list. Grilled Cider-brined Pork Tenderloin The pork tenderloin is so juicy and the char from the grill gives it a nice textural thing that just works beautifully — a hint of crunch, if you will. Then you’ve got that sweetness from the apple cider, which pairs perfectly with the savoriness of the pork tenderloin. This is seriously going to be one of our favorite things at this year’s festival. No, really! Read More About Bramblewood Bites Here Moelleux aux Oignons Caramélisés et au Fromage de Chèvre at France The new Moelleux aux Oignons Caramélisés et au Fromage de Chèvre is an egg moelleux with goat cheese and caramelized onions. The egg was very fluffy, cloudy, and pillowy (yes we just described eggs as pillowy and we’re sticking with it!). Moelleux aux Oignons Caramélisés et au Fromage de Chèvre The onions could have been a bit more caramelized, but honestly, the dish was great. There was just enough cheese sprinkled through it that we got some with each bite. Brioche aux Escargots at France The France Booth has presented Escargots in a croissant at more recent Festivals, so this is something of a new take on a previous dish but that doesn’t mean we weren’t impressed by it! Inside the pastry The escargot was fantastic. It was garlicky and soft. Someone else had described them as “slimy yet satisfying” like Timon on The Lion King, and honestly, that’s a great way to describe them. See Our Full Review of the France Booth Here Hawaiian Rice Bowl at Hawai’i The NEW Hawaiian Rice Bowl features eggs, SPAM, spicy mayonnaise, eel sauce, and furikake. We were super intrigued by this dish! We did NOT expect this to be SO GOOD. The SPAM is cooked perfectly and pairs so well with the other flavors. We ate EVERY LAST BITE of this one and we have NO regrets. Hawaiian Rice Bowl It’s essentially a deconstructed version of the SPAM Musubi roll we’ve had at past festivals which we also loved! It’s a fun take on a traditional dish that we really enjoyed and would absolutely get again for lunch! Read Our Full Hawai’i Review HERE Pumpkin Mascarpone Ravioli at Forest and Field Over at the new Forest and Field booth, you’ll find the Pumpkin Mascarpone Ravioli, made with sage-brown butter, pecorino cheese, and hazelnut praline. The pumpkin ravioli itself was so tasty, with a solid amount of sweet pumpkin and mascarpone filling that was pleasant but mild. But, the hazelnut praline just elevated this dish into something else entirely. Pumpkin Mascarpone Ravioli The little crunchy bits on top were so interesting both texture and flavor-wise. Pumpkin + sage-brown butter = a classic fall combination and this was executed perfectly. Plus, it’s part of the cheese crawl! It could also be a Best of the Fest contender for us this year. Check Out Our Full Review of Forest and Field Freshly-baked Chocolate Pudding Cake at Flavors of America This $5 Freshly-baked Chocolate Pudding Cake was our favorite dish from the booth! It’s slathered in a bourbon caramel sauce and we mean SLATHERED. Freshly-baked Chocolate Pudding Cake The cake was super-moist and gooey, and the chocolate was very light and airy. The Flavors of America booth got a menu overhaul this year — read our full review below to see our thoughts! You Can Find Our FULL Flavors from Florida Review Here Vanilla Cheesecake at Italy The Vanilla Cheesecake is topped with whipped cream and fresh strawberry sauce — it sounds simple but it was SO GOOD. We were so surprised by how fantastic this dessert was! It’s so creamy and melts in your mouth. Vanilla Cheesecake It tastes like fresh vanilla, not artificial vanilla syrup. The strawberry sauce was a really nice touch. We will definitely be stopping by this booth again just for this cheesecake! Read Our Full Italy Booth Review Here Burrata at Forest and Field The Burrata features seasonal fall fruit, spiced pecans, apple purée, and fig vinaigrette. It doesn’t sound like much, but we were really surprised by how well this worked! If fall could be taken and transformed into a dish, it would be this. We enjoyed how light and refreshing it was while also being the perfect combination of fall flavors. Burrata with seasonal fall fruit, spiced pecans, apple purée, and fig vinaigrette There was a nice spice and nuttiness thanks to the pecans, plus plenty of apple puree and fig vinaigrette. When combined with the Burrata, it was spicy and creamy with a hint of sweetness. Check Out Our Full Review of Forest and Field Paella Negra at Spain The Paella Negra is made with Squid ink rice with shrimp, Bay scallops, and octopus served with garlic aïoli. It comes with two big shrimp and scallops and it is SO fresh. It’s also topped with a garlic aioli that we found to be a nice addition, and overall this was so good! Paella Negra The dish has elevated flavors and is a fun twist on an original paella because of the garlic aioli and squid ink rice. We appreciate just how many pieces of seafood we got — two large shrimp, a few scallops, and plenty of squid. Read More of Our Spain Review Here Chocolate Amarula Mousse Dome at Refreshment Outpost The Chocolate Amarula Mousse Dome with white chocolate is essentially a giant Zebra Dome and yes, it’s exactly as incredible as it sounds. You really can’t go wrong with this. There’s a reason Zebra Domes are so popular and this giant one is no exception. The mousse is fluffy and creamy without being overly sweet. Chocolate Amarula Mousse Dome The chocolate on the inside is rich while the cookie on the bottom is buttery and gives a nice crunch to this otherwise soft dessert. We think it could be shareable, but don’t be surprised if you catch us eating the whole thing — and maybe even one more. See Our Full Review of Refreshment Outpost Here Returning Bests These items are ones we’ve had in the past and they’ve thankfully returned in 2024, bringing a whole lot of deliciousness with them. Adobo Yuca Fries at The Fry Basket We cannot express how thrilled we are to see the Adobo Yuca Fries with Garlic-Cilantro Aïoli back on the menu at The Fry Basket in 2024. These things seriously impressed us in 2022 and were our FAVORITE things at the booth that year. Adobo Yuca Fries In 2023, their texture was fantastic (perfectly crunchy), their flavor was spot-on (like Texas toast garlic bread in French fry form), and the sauce served with them offered a delicious tangy flavor. The fries did NOT disappoint this year. They were once again the BEST thing at this booth. The flavor of the aïoli was fantastic (light on the cilantro), the breading on the fries was dreamy (delightfully crispy!), and the fries were incredibly garlicky in the BEST way possible. Imagine the most amazing garlic bread you’ve ever had in your life but in a wedge/fry form. Trust us when we say you do NOT want to miss these. Get them for $5.75. See our full review of The Fry Basket here! Smoked Corned Beef at Flavors from Fire The Smoked Corned Beef is BACK people and it is something you do NOT want to skip. This deliciousness is served with house-made potato chips, cheese curds, pickled onions, and beer-cheese fondue. And no, we don’t blame you for drooling all over your screens at the sight of that cheese. Smoked Corned Beef In 2023, we felt the balance of flavors and textures was fantastic — there was the salty beef, creamy cheese, a little tang from the pickled onions, and the crunchiness of the chips. This year, we loved the dish just as much! The mix of textures added such great dimension to the dish, the cheese was AMAZING (we couldn’t get enough of it), and it was a warm, comforting WIN. Try it for $6.50. Learn all about Flavors from Fire here! Swine Brine at Flavors from Fire We know what you’re thinking — a drink made with Jim Beam Bourbon, apple cinnamon cider, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard can’t be good. But, it was! It was really different and unique, like nothing we’ve had before thanks to the mustard. It reminded us of fall and pickles all at the same time. Swine Brine with Jim Beam Bourbon We didn’t taste much of the Bourbon, which is probably a good thing. It tasted like a briny pickle juice with a splash of meat in there. We know — but try it for yourself! Steakhouse Blended Burger at Flavors from Fire The Steakhouse Blended Burger is a beef and wild mushroom slider with truffle brie cheese fondue, arugula, and truffle potato chips on a sesame seed bun. It sounds rich — and it is, in the best way possible. There’s a charred flavor that really compliments the mushroom and truffle flavors. Steakhouse Blended Burger The brie gets so melty and it really holds this whole burger together. The patty is the perfect combination of meat and mushrooms, and it’s easy to see why this has made our Best of the Fest list yet again! Freshly Baked Carrot Cake at Milled & Mulled In the past, this delicious dessert has been at the Hops and Barley booth, but this year it has appeared at the NEW Milled and Mulled booth and we’re soooooo glad it has returned. The Freshly Baked Carrot Cake comes with Cream Cheese Icing and it is a sticky sensation. Freshly-baked Carrot Cake with walnuts and cream cheese icing Once again, this cake delivered! It tasted more like a nutty spice cake than a carrot cake, but we didn’t mind! It was dense (but not dry), and the icing (though it can harden a little) melts on your mouth, has a hint of a tang to it, and isn’t overly sweet. If you want something that just screams autumn, we think you’ll love this. Grab a friend and a fork and dive into this snack for $4.75. See all about Milled & Mulled here! Mango Lassi at India The Mango Lassi is not a new drink, but it has made a special appearance on our Best of the Fest list this year because it really impressed us! We got the non-alcoholic version for $5, but you can get it with Sōmrus Chai Cream Liqueur for $11.50. In the past, we’ve felt like this drink had a lot of mango flavor and was pretty milky in consistency (sort of like a milkshake but a little lighter). This year it was one of our favorites! It was very light for being a milk-based drink, and it had a great, fruity flavor. Mango Lassi We found it to be really fresh. It can be great if you need something to cool you down from the Florida heat or cool you down after eating some of the more spicy dishes at the Festival. If you want something fun and non-alcoholic (or alcoholic should you so choose), this is a great pick! Click here to read more about the India booth! Frozen Pineapple Chipotle Lemonade at Block & Hans The combination of pineapple and lemonade in this drink was something we don’t see often, and having it in a slush form was a treat on top of a treat. It was, of course, refreshing on a hot day and wasn’t too tart despite the pineapple and the lemon — but it wasn’t too sweet either. Frozen Pineapple Chipotle Lemonade The chili-lime rim was delicious but did get pretty spicy after a while! This isn’t one we’d recommend for kiddos just because of that, but overall we will definitely be getting this again. Maybe next time with vodka! Read More About Block & Hans at the Festival Here Braised Beef Poutine at Refreshment Port The Braised Beef Poutine is made of French fries with braised beef, Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese sauce, cheese curds, and gherkin relish and it’s hit with us every year! This time is no different. The french fries are salty and crispy, and the Boursin cheese gets so melty and just smothers the whole thing. Braised Beef Poutine The cheese curds are nice and squeaky and the vinegar from the gherkin relish is exactly what the dish needs! See Our FULL Refreshment Port Review Here Cheddar Cheese and Bacon Soup at Canada The famous Le Cellier Cheddar Cheese and Bacon Soup is once again a returning best, of course. It’s hot cheese soup — what’s not to love? It does get a little hard to eat in the hot Florida sun, but it’s the only soup we’d willingly sweat bullets for. Canadian Cheddar and Bacon Soup served with a pretzel roll It’s thick and cheesy without being too thick and cheese, if you catch our drift. The bacon adds a nice saltiness and crunch that’s absolutely necessary — because when is bacon NOT necessary?! Find Out What’s Happening Over at Canada Here Roasted Lamb Chop at Australia This is one that’s just a hit for us year after year. The mint pesto and crushed salt and vinegar potato chips on top are such a unique combination, and when eaten with the tender lamb really just make the whole dish come together. Our reporter who tried this dish doesn’t even particularly like lamb, but they love this! Lamb Chop The mint is pretty pronounced, and if you’re not used to that sort of flavor with meat it can be off-putting but it’s a rather popular flavor to combine with lamb especially. Try this one — you might find a new favorite! See more about the Australia booth right here! Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Alpine Ham at The Alps Oh look, it’s…another dish with lots of cheese!! Can you blame us though?! The Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese is an ICONIC dish at the Festival and one we can’t stop recommending! We particularly enjoy the version with Alpine Ham, Baby Potatoes, Cornichons, and Baguette. Warm Swiss Cheese Raclette This year it once again was a hot, savory snack that felt like a warm, comforting hug. It was also a great portion size, which can really leave you feeling full (in a good way). Grab the Raclette cheese for $5.75 — you can thank us later! See our review of The Alps here! Mimosa Flight at Shimmering Sips Hosted by CORKCICLE If you’re looking for an incredible set of drinks to pick up at the Food & Wine Festival, the Mimosa Flight at Shimmering Sips is one of our picks. We couldn’t go more than 5 minutes without someone asking us where we got this — so just be prepared to make some people jealous around you! This year, you can get a Tropical Mimosa, a Berry Mimosa, and a Blood Orange Mimosa. Mimosa Flight And you can get it all for $14! See more about Shimmering Sips here Boeuf Bourguignon at France The Boeuf Bourguignon, Pommes de terre roties is braised short ribs in cabernet with roasted potatoes. It’s one of our favorites every year — though in 2023 it was served with “puffed potatoes” that ended up being tater tots. Boeuf Bourguignon, Pommes de terre roties This dish was wonderful. It’s really flavorful and melts in your mouth. There was nothing dry about the meat at all. It was very robust and hearty, and we absolutely loved it. Find our complete review of the France Booth HERE BEST Plant-Based Dishes of the Fest IMPOSSIBLE Montreal Style Burger Slider at Flavors from Fire A new dish over at Flavors from Fire — the IMPOSSIBLE Montreal Style Burger Slider — is served with cheddar cheese and tomato jam on a sesame seed bun. We literally did a happy dance when we tried this! The “burger” was tender and not rubbery which you can sometimes find with plant-based burgers. IMPOSSIBLE Montreal Style Burger Slider The combination of the tomato jam with the salty meat and cheese was a nice addition — it gave the burger a vinegary, pickle-like kick that made us want to get a whole other slider to eat! IMPOSSIBLE Moussaka at Greece One of the returning dishes to arrive at the Festival this year is the IMPOSSIBLE Moussaka at the Greece Booth and it was a HIT for us once again. This is sort of like a lasagna/casserole dish with eggplant, the IMPOSSIBLE meat, and more items. The dish was heavy, rich, and felt like its very own mini-meal. IMPOSSIBLE Moussaka It might not be great on a super hot day (because it is very filling), but it’s hearty, comforting, and the ingredients blend together really well. Plus, we loved the bechamel sauce on top, which was sweet and creamy. It might not slam you with a ton of flavor, but this dish does a great job of being that comforting little casserole you want to tuck into after a long day (and it’ll fill you up!). Get it for $5.50. Read more about the Greece booth here Potato and Pea Samosa at India The Potato and Pea Samosa with Coriander-Lime Cream is a returning dish that has seen some great improvements this year! In the past, we’ve found the dish to be soggy and very spicy. This year, we were surprised by the spice, but the pastry dough was wonderfully crispy and flaky (while the inside was nice and soft). Alright! We have a win! Potato and Pea Samosa The coriander lime cream was also a nice touch since it added a sense of freshness to the dish. The peas on the inside added a lot of flavor, but they were on the mushy side so just be aware of that if you don’t love mushy textures. Also, this was a touch salty, but we didn’t mind that all too much. If you’re looking for a flavorful and fun plant-based dish, give this one a try! You can get it for $5.50. See more about the India booth here! CONTROVERSIAL Best of the Fest These next eats are controversial picks — some of our team LOVES them, others absolutely DETEST them. Where will you stand? You’ll have to read our notes and decide whether they’re worth a buy for yourself. If you do taste them, be sure to come back to this post and drop us a comment with your thoughts! Griddled Cheese at Greece At the Greece booth, you’ll find the divisive Griddled Cheese with pistachios and honey. It has made our Best of the Fest list in the past. One time we tried it, we found that it had a great mix of savory and sweet flavors — creamy cheese, sweet honey, and salty pistachios — a nice combo. But 2022 changed things. In 2022, a different reporter tried the dish and was…not impressed. To them, the flavor was strangely pungent and the honey didn’t mix well, though the pistachios and cheese textures were nice. Griddled Cheese with pistachios and honey Our reporter found the cheese (goat cheese) to be quite rich. Plus, they liked how the honey paired with the cheese, and thought the pistachios added a great crunch and nutty flavor that helped to bring out the cheese flavor even more. Where will you stand on this cheesy treat? You’ll have to try it and find out! Get this dish for $5. See more about the Greece booth here STRANGEST Item at the Fest Pickle Milkshake at Brew-Wing Y’all, you know we couldn’t make this list without at least mentioning the Pickle Milkshake(!!!) at the Festival! This is a non-alcoholic treat — returning for its second year — and it is…something else. Pickle Milk Shake One of our reporters who tried this said that it was extremely dill-heavy, tangy, and creamy. It had a smooth texture without any chunks, which we think is a good thing? But they noted that as someone who loves pickles, the shake was more of a dill milkshake to them. On another visit, a separate reporter tried the shake and said that in their opinion the shake tasted like you were drinking from a pickle jar, but with the consistency of ice cream. They described it as “better than you think” and explained that it tasted salty, sour, and briney. So…yeah…it’s…a pickle shake. Will you love it? Will you hate it? Will you get a batch that has a stronger dill flavor or a stronger pickle flavor? You’ll have to taste it to find out. If you are brave enough to taste it, be sure to drop us a comment with your thoughts ’cause we would love to know how you feel about this! See more about Brew-Wing here! Most Surprising Item at the Fest Lemon Poppy Seed Cake at Earth Eats We were seriously shocked by how much we enjoyed this! It was light and airy with the perfect amount of lemon icing on top — it wasn’t too sweet and didn’t weight the cake down. It was a great balance between keeping the cake moist without being overpowering. Lemon Poppy Seed Cake The lemon wasn’t too strong either, which you can sometimes find with lemon-heavy desserts. We’d definitely recommend this as a nice sweet treat after scarfing down some braised beef. Read More About Earth Eats Here BEST Booth of the FEST Mexico We loved this both and found every item on here to be Best of the Fest-worthy, which can only mean one thing — it’s our BEST Booth of the Fest this year! We will 100% be returning to the Mexico booth multiple times throughout the festival because the food is just that good. We think the Mexico booth is always good, but this year, it was truly, shockingly good. Full Spread at the Mexico Booth We loved the Tostada de Camarones — it was fresh and full of flavor, the Flauta de Barbacoa was rich without being heavy, and the Pan de Elote really surprised us — each was an explosion of flavors that we weren’t expecting but all paired SO well together. See Our FULL Mexico Booth Review Here Flavors from Fire — Runner-Up This booth really has it all — something for the carnivores, something for the plant-based folks, and something for those who like pork in their cocktails. KIDDING, but not really. The Steakhouse Blended Burger here is BOMB and super unique, while the IMPOSSIBLE Montreal-style Slider was delicious no matter what kind of diet you follow. Flavors from Fire Spread The Smoked Corned Beef is always a hit, of course, and the Swine Brine cocktail is super fun to prank your friends and family with — and it’s pretty darn delicious, too! See More of Flavors from Fire by Clicking Here Bramblewood Bites — Runner-Up This NEW booth really impressed us! We enjoyed everything we had here. The Grilled Cider-Brined Pork Tenderloin is so juicy and the char from the grill gives it a nice textural thing that just works beautifully. The Grilled Bison tasted like fall, and those Cast Iron-Roasted Brussels Sprouts will be dancing around in our dreams for a while. Full Spread at Bramblewood Bites We also really enjoyed the Spiced Apple Old Fashioned-inspired cocktail with Boyd & Blair Rum. Typically, old-fashioned cocktails are made with bourbon or whiskey, so this was a new take on a classic drink. We liked the rum because it made the drink a bit sweeter, although we couldn’t really taste the rum. Instead, it just brought out the sweet apple flavor. Check Out More About Bramblewood Bites! France — Runner-Up The France booth is always a hit, which is why it deserves to be a runner-up for Best Booth of the Festival. The new Moelleux aux Oignons Caramélisés et au Fromage de Chèvre is an egg moelleux with goat cheese and caramelized onions. The egg was very fluffy, cloudy, and pillowy (yes we just described eggs as pillowy and we’re sticking with it!). Full Spread The escargot was fantastic. It was garlicky and soft. Someone else had described them as “slimy yet satisfying” like Timon on The Lion King, and honestly, that’s a great way to describe them. You also can’t go wrong with the Boeuf Bourguignon! Read the FULL Snail Review and More from France Here The Fry Basket — Runner-Up Not all of the items at The Fry Basket are necessarily exceptional stand-out dishes, but we do feel like the booth as a whole is one of those you absolutely MUST visit, even if it’s just to get one or two items. The Adobo Yuca Fries are by far our favorites here and are WELL worth your time. Full Fry Spread 2023 But we can’t deny that the Fry Flight is ICONIC. It comes with Sea Salt and Malt Vinegar Fries, BBQ Bacon Fries with smoked aïoli, and Sweet Potato Casserole Fries with candied pecans, toasted marshmallow cream, and maple bourbon glaze. (Note that you can also order the individual flavors here by request.) The Sweet Potato Casserole Fries were our favorite fries in the flight, and they really captured the flavors of sweet potato pie in the BEST way possible. Think of them like bite-sized sweet potato casseroles, complete with marshmallow fluff and everything! The Salt & Vinegar fries were not our favorite here — they were just boring, but probably a “safe” choice for those who don’t want anything too adventurous. And then there were the BBQ Bacon Fries, which tasted like Lay’s BBQ chips in a great way. They had a nice smoky chipotle flavor going on, which elevated them beyond your basic BBQ taste. Fry Flight All in all, each individual item at the booth might not blow you away on its own (save for those Yuca Fries), but it’s the kind of booth you just gotta go to because…well…it’s a booth full of FRIES!!! And several of them are quite tasty! See more about the Fry Basket booth here Best of the Fest for Kids Looking for a few dishes the kiddos will love? Here are a few dishes we think little ones will really like trying. Frozen S’mores at Festival Favorites Kids will definitely LOVE the Frozen S’mores — it’s a chocolate milkshake with marshmallow syrup topped with mini marshmallows and a graham cracker. Frozen S’mores Seriously, what’s not to love here?! It’s sweet, and creamy, and reminds us of sitting by the campfire. Read Our Full Festival Favorites Review Here Apple Strudel with Vanilla Sauce at Germany First up, we have the classic Apple Strudel with Vanilla Sauce from Germany. This has been a favorite of ours for years and it did NOT disappoint this year. Apple Strudel with vanilla sauce The flavors are simple enough that picky eaters won’t be deterred and when mixed with the vanilla sauce it makes for an extra delicious experience. This year, we felt like it really captured that apple pie flavor and the pastry was wonderfully flaky. That all paired with the vanilla sauce well (that sauce was INCREDIBLE by the way). If you have a little one who enjoys apple pie, vanilla sauce, and pastries, this is an easy pick. Also, note that our reporter fully recommended this one for the main Best of the Fest list. In other words, don’t overlook this just ’cause we put it in the kiddo category. Adults — we think you’ll love this too! Get it for $4.50. See more about the Germany booth here Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream at Belgium Another easy pick for the little ones is the Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream. Seriously, a waffle and berries — what’s NOT to love?! Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream The Berry Compote really carried the team in this dessert this year, and the strawberries were divine! We felt like they were actually some of the freshest berries we’d had at the Festival this year. The waffle was a little plain, but that can actually be a bonus for the kiddos. Overall, for $5, we think it’s a snack little ones will likely gobble up with ease! Click here for more on the Belgium booth WOWZERS. That was a LOT of food. Wait, so we can eat a bunch of cheese-filled dishes AND win a prize at the end of the cheesy food crawl at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival? SIGN US UP! Emile’s Fromage Montage The 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially started, and there’s so much to do! There are tons of tasty eats to try, souvenirs to purchase and even concerts to watch. But one of our favorite parts about this festival is Emile’s Fromage Montage, or — as we call it –the cheese crawl. Come check it out! Emile’s Fromage Montage is an EPCOT challenge that only comes around during Food & Wine time. To participate, you’ll buy any 5 of the featured dishes in the “crawl,” and then once you’ve collected the 5 corresponding stamps, you’ll get a special prize. There are lots of items to pick from, but you only need to buy 5 in order to get your prize. First, pick up a Festival Passport. These are free, and you can grab one at either entrance to EPCOT. (If you don’t see them, ask a Cast Member or stop by guest relations.) Make sure that you get your Festival Passport stamped each time you buy a qualifying item. Don’t forget to get those stamps! Once you’ve ordered the dish at one of the food booths, just ask the Cast Member to stamp your passport. When you’ve got all 5 stamps, bring that stamped Festival Passport to the Shimmering Sips Marketplace hosted by CORKCICLE for your prize. Shimmering Sips 2023 The 2024 menu items and locations for Emile’s Fromage Montage are: The Alps Marketplace Any Warm Swiss Cheese Raclette Brazil Marketplace Pão de Queijo Festival Favorites BBQ Pork Rinds (NEW) Forest & Field Pumpkin Mascarpone Ravioli (NEW) Greece Marketplace Griddled Cheese Hawaiʻi Marketplace Passion Fruit Cheesecake Macatizers Any Macaroni & Cheese Milled and Mulled Boursin® Fig & Balsamic Cheesecake (NEW) Spain Marketplace Spanish Charcuterie Germany Marketplace Schinkennudeln First, we tried the new BBQ Pork Rinds at the new booth Festival favorites for $5. Our pork rinds had a great coating of barbecue flavor that was a little hotter than regular barbecue sauce, but still fairly low heat. The cheese was super creamy, greasy, rich, and DELICIOUS. This was our favorite option at Festival Favorites! BBQ Pork Rinds served with pimento cheese Then, we checked out the new Pumpkin Mascarpone Ravioli at Forest & Fire for $5.25. It’s made with sage-brown butter, pecorino cheese, and hazelnut praline, and it was AWESOME. The pumpkin ravioli itself was good, with a solid amount of sweet pumpkin and mascarpone filling that was pleasant but mild. But, the hazelnut praline just elevated this dish into something else entirely. It’s easily a Best of the Fest contender this year! Pumpkin Mascarpone Ravioli Next up, the new Boursin® Fig & Balsamic Cheesecake for $4.75 at Milled and Mulled. Initially, we were somewhat dubious about how fig and balsamic flavors would work with cheesecake flavors, but they all melded together deliciously. We do suggest eating it quickly and in the shade because it will melt in the sun! Boursin® Fig & Balsamic Cheesecake Over at the new booth Macatizers, we tried the Truffle Mac & Cheese for $6.50 There are SEVERAL varieties of mac & cheese at this booth, but the Truffle Mac & Cheese really surprised us! The truffle was subtle but adds an interesting textural element — it’s not too overpowering which you sometimes find with truffle. Truffle Macaroni and Cheese You can’t go wrong with a charcuterie board in Spain for $6.50! This is a great adult “lunchable.” It features Jamón, Manchego, and pan con tomate, and we enjoyed it. Spanish Charcuterie We’ve had the Griddled Cheese from the Greece pavilion before and this year it costs $5. The cheese was great and ooey gooey! It went so well with the honey and pistachios that are drizzled on top of it. Griddled Cheese with pistachios and honey We also picked up the Passion Fruit Cheesecake at the Hawaiʻi Marketplace for $5. We had this last year, and we continued to enjoy it again this year! It’s served with toasted Macadamia nuts and is light and fluffy. Passion Fruit Cheesecake You can’t do a cheese tour at the Food & Wine Festival without getting the Warm Swiss Cheese Raclette! This is $5.75, and Warm Swiss Cheese Raclette The last cheese dish we grabbed was the Schinkennudeln from the Germany booth for $5.25. This is always a favorite of ours! You get tons of delicious flavors in a hearty dish, and it is sure to fill you up, so grab it while you’re hungry. Schinkennudeln Our passport is full of stamps, so now let’s go to Shimmering Sips to collect our prize! This year, the prize was blueberry cheesecake soft serve with a piece of cheesecake on top served in a souvenir cup featuring Emile himself. Yes, the prize is CHEESE CAKE! We just won at life! Completer Prize So what do we think? Is the cheese crawl worth the prize? Well, if you love cheese, the answer is “YES!” Who doesn’t need an excuse to eat a TON of cheese and get cheesecake in a fun souvenir cup as a reward? Isn’t that just #lifegoals? So even though we technically paid over $29 for this prize (if you add up the price of all the items in the cheese crawl), we thought it was 100% worth it, especially since we enjoyed all of the items that were in the crawl. Food and Wine Festival (2022) Remember that you don’t have to pick the items that we chose! You can choose from any of the cheesy snacks listed in your Festival Passport that are marked “Emile’s Fromage Montage.” Trying to plan the PERFECT trip to the 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival? Are you ready for a little HEAT at the 2024 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival? 2024 Flavors from Fire Booth We sure hope so, because we’re visiting a Festival Marketplace Food Booth that delivers Flavors from Fire! Among this booth’s unique offerings are the storied Swine Brine and an item that we LOVE seeing come back every year because it tends to rank among our Best of the Fest picks every time. So please join us for our complete review of EVERYTHING at Flavors from Fire! Menu You’ll find Flavors from Fire near the Refreshment Station in World Discovery. Flavors from Fire boasts the fan favorite Smoked Corned Beef with house-made potato chips, and it’s also brought back the Steakhouse Blended Burger from a few years back. These dishes are joined by the new IMPOSSIBLE Montreal-style Burger Slider. 2024 Flavors from Fire Menu When it comes to drinks, Flavors from Fire offers the new Deschutes Brewery Black Butte Porter and Four Virtues Bourbon Barrel Zinfandel. And what’s the Food and Wine Festival without some SWINE BRINE?? Yep, it’s back again! Are you ready? Then let’s go! There’s another slider up for grabs, and this one is all new: the plant-based IMPOSSIBLE Montreal Style Burger Slider is topped with cheddar cheese, and tomato jam and served on a sesame seed bun. IMPOSSIBLE Montreal Style Burger Slider It costs $6. It’s a GREAT burger, but be prepared for a “pickle kick” in the aftertaste! We weren’t expecting that hit of salty, tangy pickle flavor, but we weren’t mad about it! If you’ve ever had a Chick-fil-A pickle, you might find that the flavor here is pretty similar. IMPOSSIBLE Montreal Style Burger Slider And last, but certainly not least among the food items is the Smoked Corned Beef with house-made potato chips, cheese curds, pickled onions, and beer-cheese fondue! Smoked Corned Beef It’s up for grabs for $6.50. But is it as great as we remember? Well, YES! YUM! It had a lamb-like, chewy flavor that worked so well. The onions gave it a bit of zing, and the kettle chips were perfectly crunchy and salty. Really, you can’t go wrong with beer cheese fondue. Drinks Alrighty, my friends, it’s time to raise a glass of Swine Brine! This truly unique cocktail features Jim Beam Bourbon, apple cinnamon cider, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard. The cost is $11.50. Swine Brine with Jim Beam Bourbon And the fact of the matter is, even thought we try Swine Brine year after year…we still need to brace ourselves before that first sip. Is it weird? Yes. But you know what? Our reporter found that this had a briny, pickle juice taste that worked shockingly well! In fact, they thought it was great. Different tastes for different stomachs, right? Flavors from Fire Spread If you’ve already decided that Swine Brine isn’t exactly your thing , you can try the new Deschutes Brewery Black Butte Porter which is $5.75 for for 6 ounces ($9.75 for 12 ounces) or the returning Four Virtues Bourbon Barrel Zinfandel which is $6.50. OVERALL This booth was a BIG winner! We loved everything we tried and truly enjoyed the lineup here. From warm, freshly-made sliders to weirdly good Swine Brine, this is easily a top booth of the festival. GO TRY THE FOOD HERE! Trying to plan the PERFECT trip to the 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival? If you are reading this post while hungry, BE WARNED. Seriously, we’re not joking! You’re willing to keep reading? Okay, well then — we’ve got some DELICIOUS details to share with you! Greece booth The 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially begun, and there is a lot to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you. We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the Greece Booth — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out! Menu Over at the Greece Booth, you’ll find a variety of available items. There are four menu items available, all of which are returning and one of which is a plant-based option. You’ll also see a NEW cocktail and a classic wine flight option. Greece Booth 2024 Menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First up, we grabbed the Spanakopita, which is a savory pastry with a filling of spinach and cheese. This is priced at $5. In 2022, we LOVED this item because…well…it was full of cheese! The cheese also had a hint of sourness to it that paired really well with the spinach. We tried it again last year, and it just kinda fell flat. So, how did it hold up in 2024? Spanakopita This year, it was AMAZING. It was so flaky and buttery while the inside was creamy and delicious! It was the perfect amount of spinach and cheese. We would totally get it again this year. Now, let’s move on to the Griddled Cheese with pistachios and honey, which is also part of Emile’s Fromage Montage (a.k.a. the Festival’s Cheese Crawl). It is also priced at $5. In 2022, this dish made our Best of the Fest list as a CONTROVERSIAL pick. It is essentially cheese covered with honey and pistachios, and while some members of our team have loved it in the past, it can be a little off-putting for others. Last year, we found the cheese (which was goat cheese, by the way) to be quite rich, which can be good depending on what you like. So, we just had to try it again in 2024 to see if opinions would differ this year. Griddled Cheese with pistachios and honey It was really good this year! The cheese was ooey and gooey, and it mixed really well with the sweetness of the honey and pistachios. Our reporter hasn’t cared for it in the past, but they really enjoyed it this year. Next is the returning Lamb Gyro with shaved lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and tzatziki on warm flatbread. It is priced at $6.75. This was new in 2022, and it pleasantly surprised us. The lamb was a little tough to eat, but the whole thing was smothered in tzatziki sauce, which made things nice and tangy. Last year, the lamb was much improved in tenderness, but a little light on the tzatziki sauce. So, what did the 2024 version have to offer? Lamb Gyro with shaved lettuce, tomato-cumber relish, and tzatziki on warm flatbread This was really nice! It was super special, but it was really good. The flatbread was nice and fluffy, while the relish and tzatziki added a great balancing acidity and crunch. It won’t knock your socks off, but it’s worth getting if you like gyros. Our last dish (and the only plant-based item on the menu this year) is the returning IMPOSSIBLE Moussaka that you can grab for $5.50. Moussaka is traditionally a sort of Greek lasagna dish made with eggplant and a meat sauce. Last year, we actually REALLY liked this addition to the Festival booth! It was heavy, rich, and felt like a mini meal. IMPOSSIBLE Moussaka It’s a good plant-based option, but it was strangely sweet. We wouldn’t have realized the IMPOSSIBLE meat wasn’t meat if we didn’t know it, so that was good. But we wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have a dietary restriction. Drinks In terms of drinks on this menu, you can snag the Wine Flight, which comes with small glasses of each of the wines on the menu, which are the Mylonas Winery Assyrtiko White Wine ($6.50 on its own), Skouras ‘Zoe’ Rosé ($6.00 on its own), and the Kir-Yianni Naoussa Xinomavro Dry Red ($6.50 on its own). The wine flight is $7.50. Greece Wine Flight The white wine was really dry while the rosé was more on the sweeter side but still dry. The red wine, was as its described — dry. Overall, this is a DRY wine flight, so if you’re looking for sweet, sugary wines, this is not the flight for you. And now for the NEW item on the menu! The Greek Melon Limenade! Even though Disney World is already decked out for Fall, this cocktail just screams “SUMMER!” It is made with Kleos Mastiha Spirit, Aelred Melon Apéritif de Provence, Pearl Vodka, and lime sour mix, and you can grab it for $11.50 . Greek Melon Limenade This was fantastic. It was really light and refreshing. This is super sweet and juicy. The lime gave it a nice balancing acidity. We would definitely grab this drink again! OVERALL This is a must-try booth! It’s probably not our top booth of the festival, but it does have some really great options that we think people will enjoy. It’s time to eat some NOODLES at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. We’re checking out the Noodle Exchange, which is back again this year. The Noodle Exchange 2024 The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival runs through November 23rd this year! Throughout the festival, there are plenty of food booths, merchandise items, and concerts, too. Come along with us to the Noodle Exchange to find out if it’s a booth you need to add to your must-eat-here list! Menu Over at the Noodle Exchange, you’ll find three returning noodle dishes and two beverages. Noodle Exchange Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food! And now, we’re moving on to drinks! Drinks Returning for another year is the Parish Brewing Strawberry Mochi. A 6oz pour is $5.75 and a 12oz pour is $9.75. Parish Brewing Co. Strawberry Mochi The Strawberry Mochi was actually quite good. We found it refreshing and not at all tart, which was definitely a plus. If wine is more your thing, you can grab the Pacific Rim Solstice Vineyard Old Vine Riesling for $8 instead. Noodles Exchange So, was the Noodle Exchange worth the wait?! Overall Unfortunately, the Noodle Exchange is a bit of a letdown in 2024. Both the beef and shrimp dishes let us down, especially compared to last year. That said, the strawberry mochi was good, and the tofu dish is a solid choice if you’re looking for a vegetarian option. We’re trekking over to the Japan booth at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival and checking out the new and returning menu items right now! Japan food booth The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival runs through November 23rd this year! Throughout the festival, there are plenty of food booths, merchandise items, and concerts, too. Come along with us to the Japan booth to find out if it’s a booth you need to add to your must-eat-here list! Menu Japan has TWO new sushi dishes and a new drink along with several returnees. 2024 Japan Menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s EAT! Eats First up, we checked out the new Wagyu Temaki Sushi, hand-held sushi with sweet and savory American Wagyu beef topped with Takana Japanese pickles and spicy mayo sauce. This is available for $9.50. The beef was very tender and juicy and was complimented well by the spicy mayo. The mayo had a little bit of a kick that would be considered hot by people who struggle with Disney spice, but we still enjoyed it. The Japanese pickles on top were pretty pungent and had a ginger-like taste, and the ratio of beef to rice favored the rice, but we found it was held together nicely by the seaweed and was quite tasty overall. Wagyu Temaki Sushi Next up is the other new sushi for 2024, the Eel Temaki Sushi. This is also a hand-held sushi with grilled eel, egg crumbles, cucumber, and pickled daikon radish served with eel sauce. Get this for $9.50! This was probably the most disappointing thing we had because the potential was so high. The grilled eel tasted great but there wasn’t enough! Despite tasting so good, the eel, or lack thereof, was not enough to carry the dish. As for the egg crumbles, they really had no flavor and we wouldn’t have known they were there had we not read the menu listing. The eel sauce was also way too light and practically non-existent. However, the cucumber had a good crunch and we were also fans of the pickled daikon radish. Still, there just wasn’t enough happening with this dish despite the flavor profile being there. We hope it was a rare instance and you get a better plate if you decide to try it. Eel Temaki Sushi Returning for 2024 is the Teriyaki Chicken Bun, which is a steamed bun filled with minced chicken, vegetables, and teriyaki sauce. You can order this for $7.95. In 2023, this was one of our favorite items at the Festival. Teriyaki Chicken Bun Last year it was about 60% bao, 40% filling. It’s nice and meaty, but that teriyaki is sweet enough to complement the dough. We suggest checking it out again this year! Teriyaki Chicken Bun Now let’s check out the drinks on the menu! Drinks The new drink for 2024 is the boozy Kyoho Grape Sour made with Kyoho Black Grape cocktail with Japanese vermouth and Shōchū. It’ll cost you $8.75. This cocktail was fantastic! We couldn’t taste the alcohol as it was juice-heavy, which can be a good thing especially if you decide on going all-out at EPCOT. This beverage was sweet, light, tasty, and very smooth. A non-boozy drink on the menu this year is the Kyoho Drink which is made with Calpico with fragrant mellow and Kyoho Black Grape. This one is $7.00. Kyoho Grape Sour Returning again to the Japan book is a traditional Sake which you can order for $12.00, and the Sapporo Premium Beer which is priced at $5.50 for 6oz and $10 for 12oz. OVERALL Overall, this is a good booth with a ton of potential. While nothing blew us out of the water, we really liked the flavors the booth provides and think if you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine, you should give it a try. More adventurous with bold offerings, the Japan booth is worth a visit. Block & Hans is returning to the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival this year with something special! Block & Hans Block and Hans is one of the permanent EPCOT locations that also join in on the festival fun with exclusive, limited-time drinks and snacks. Come with us to check out this year’s item! Menu Over at Block and Hans, you’ll find a special festival-edition drink — the non-boozy Frozen Pineapple Chipotle Lemonade made Minute Maid Lemonade and chipotle pineapple syrup with a chili-lime salt rim. YUM Let’s try it! Drinks We stopped by Block and Hans and picked up the Frozen Pineapple Chipotle Lemonade! You can grab it from the festival for $5.29. You can also opt for a spirited version with Tito’s Handmade Vodka for $15 if that suits your fancy. We grabbed the nonalcoholic version to try this time around. Frozen Pineapple Chipotle Lemonade First things first, this drink is PRETTY! But, we do have to give the warning that since it’s a frozen drink, it melts FAST in that Florida sun. If you’re visiting the festival later in the year, it probably (hopefully!) won’t be a problem. The combination of pineapple and lemonade in this drink was something we don’t see often, and having it in a slush form was a treat on top of a treat. OVERALL If you’re looking for a refreshing and fruity drink you likely haven’t had at EPCOT before, consider stopping by Block and Hans to try this treat! While we didn’t try the version that comes with Tito’s Vodka, we can easily see how it would be a welcome addition to the drink for someone looking for something a little extra. Even without it, though, we liked this and would get it again! That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! If you thought we were done eating our way around the 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, you would be wrong! Australia Booth Now that this deliciously entertaining festival has officially begun, we’ve started making our way around the food booths with tasty items, checking out the merchandise, and figuring out which concerts we just can’t miss. We know it sounds overwhelming, but we’re here to help ensure you know what to get and skip. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the Australia booth — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out! Menu Over at the Australia booth, you’ll find a variety of available items. All the items are returning this year, including the Grilled Bushberry shrimp with Pepper, Onion, Snap Peas, and Coconut-Chili Sauce, the Roasted Lamb Chop with Mint Pesto, and Potato Crunchies, and the Lamington Yellow Cake with raspberry filling topped with chocolate and coconut. It’s time to get meaty. 2024 Australia Food Booth Menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First up, we tried the Grilled Bushberry Shrimp with Pepper, Onion, Snap Peas and Coconut-Chili Sauce for $7. In the past, this entree had a bit of a kick, and we really loved how everything went together with the spicy shrimp flavor. Especially the snap peas! Grilled Bushberry Spiced Shrimp Skewer This year, we thought this was delicious once again! The rub on the shrimp is the really good part, as it’s a little spicy, but also a little sweet from the berry. You’ll definitely need to have some tolerance for spice before ordering this because we could still feel the heat 10 minutes after eating it. The one downside to this item is that the texture of the shrimp was a little fishy — because of that, it was probably our least favorite thing at this booth. Shrimp Skewer Next, we had the Roasted Lamb Chop with Mint Pesto and Vinegar Potato chips for $8.75. This has been one of our favorites at the festival. It’s juicy and flavorful, and as a bonus — it’s also gluten and wheat-friendly. Roasted Lamb Chop with mint pesto and crushed salt and vinegar potato chips Even if you don’t love lamb, you might like this dish. The lamb is SO tender and good, but the mint chutney and the salty potato chips just take it to the next level texture and flavor-wise. Our one caution here is that the mint is a pretty strong flavor, so you may want to avoid it if that’s not your thing. Lamb Chop And finally, we finished things off with something sweet — Lamington. This is a Yellow Cake with Raspberry Filling with Chocolate and Coconut for $4.75. When we had this last year, the cakes were really dense, while also being incredibly moist. Though this cake has a lot going on, this tends to be a dessert of balanced flavors, no one flavor is too strong or overwhelming. Let’s see if the same holds true for this year! Lamington Once again, this was moist and dense, while also somehow being light and delicious. It’s not flashy or fancy, but it’s a classic good dessert option, so if you’ve got the room for it, you might want to try it. Lamington So what about the beverages? Drinks We typically see a selection of beer and wines here. Grab the Yalumba ‘The Y Series’ Viognier, South Australia for $7.50 as part of the wine flight. We tried this as part of a flight last year when it was new and thought it was quite dry, and by the time we got to drink it, it was incredibly warm from the Florida heat. Once again, this was fairly dry, but it also has a nice floral taste and a hint of sweetness. Yalumba ‘The Y Series’ Viognier New to the booth this year is a new white and red wine. If you’re a fan of white wine, you can grab the Bulletin Place Sauvignon Blanc as part of the wine flight. This wine was very acidic and tart with some strong apple notes. This was quite dry overall, but paired well with the shrimp. If you don’t like acidic wines though, this won’t be for you. Bulletin Place Sauvignon Blanc Or, if you’re more of a red wine fan, pick up the Fowles Wine Farm to Table Shiraz as part of the wine flight as well. This was incredibly dark and very peppery. It kind of dries out your whole mouth when you drink it and sits on your tongue. This wine pairs nicely with the lamb though. Fowles Wine Farm to Table Shiraz So, what’s the verdict on Australia this year? OVERALL Australia has some delicious eats as always! We’re continually impressed by this booth year after year and it really is a sleeper hit — overshadowed by longtime favorites nearby like Canada or the brand new booths also near the front of World Showcase. The eats are all pretty great, and the wine flight comes with three VERY different beverages. You’d probably be hard-pressed to find someone who liked all three wines because they’re so contrasting. It’s time to celebrate the 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival! We are checking out all the booths and bringing you all the reviews! Swirled Showcase debuted at last year’s EPCOT Food and Wine Festival as a special 100th anniversary booth — and it’s stuck around for every EPCOT Festival since then! Menu Over at the Swirled Showcase booth, you’ll find some nice cool and sweet treats, including soft serve ice cream, floats, and more! Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Drinks You can get the Frozen Apple Pie (non-alcoholic) for $6.75. We thought this float was better in presentation than it was in taste. It looked adorable, but the actual flavor left a lot to be desired. Frozen Apple Pie Next up, we got the 3 Daughters Toasted Coconut Porter Float with vanilla soft-serve for $13.25. We were NOT a fan of this one. The flavors did not mix well, and there was a bitter afterbite. The Coconut Float Finally, we ordered the Berry-vanilla Float made with La Gioiosa Berry Fizz and vanilla soft-serve. We found this float to be a bit weird. There was almost a medicinal taste to the drink itself, and the fizz didn’t help save this drink. Berry Vanilla Float Overall Overall, we were let down by the 2024 version of Swirled Showcase. None of the new items wowed us, and several were bland at best. This was definitely a disappointment, given this booth’s previous pedigree. Swirled Showcase That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! Everything “old” is NEW AGAIN at Festival Favorites! 2024 Festival Favorites Festival Favorites is a new(-ish, we’ll explain ) Marketplace Food Booth at the 2024 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival! And, just as the name implies, it presents fan-favorite Festival menu items from EPCOT Festivals of yore. Given that this is a booth full of nothing but items that won their popularity contests long ago, we’re anticipating long lines here throughout the run of the Festival… but we’re braving them, of course, to bring you our review! Festival Favorites So, in a sense, Festival Favorites is both a returning Food Booth AND a new Food Booth at the same time! You see, while Festival Favorites has indeed been present off-and-on during previous Festivals, it now has an all-new — and uniquely permanent and year-round — location at EPCOT’s CommuniCore Hall in World Celebration. Festival Favorites! Yep, you read that right… Festival Favorites is open all year long! When it made its debut in June 2024, it did so with a menu presenting items primarily from EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival, which is held in the spring. But that menu has changed to focus on favorites that are mostly specific to the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival. Menu Sooo… what are the “favorites” that this Booth is boasting about? Here you’ll find the Kielbasa and Potato Pierogis, BBQ Pork Rinds, and a Key Lime Tart. 2024 Festival Favorites Menu Beloved beverages here include the Frozen S’mores and the Irish Milk Shake. Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen, Parish Brewing Co. SIPS Cab Franc Strawberry, and 3 Daughters Brewing Beach Blonde Ale can be enjoyed individually or as part of the Beer Flight. Goldschmidt ‘Katherine’ Cabernet Sauvignon and Martin Ray Chardonnay are also available. Festival Favorites Spread Let’s see if these items can hold onto their “Festival Favorites” titles this year… Eats Say “Welcome back” to the Kielbasa and Potato Pierogis! Though the Poland Booth has not returned from previous years, its most popular dish has, thanks to Festival Favorites. This dish — presented with caramelized onions and sour cream — is so well-liked that we even have the recipe for it so readers can make it at home! Kielbasa and Potato Pierogis This dish is available for $6. This dish is just as good as we remembered. Featuring super flavorful meat with a little bit of grease (in a good way), this treat is very flavorful. The cheese topping is a standout and mimics something akin to cheese curd poutine. Delicious and addicting, we couldn’t get enough! Kielbasa and Potato Pierogis A more recent Festival menu item is the BBQ Pork Rinds served with pimento cheese, which debuted at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival in 2021 at the The Swanky Saucy Swine. (P.S. This item is also eligible for those participating in the Emile’s Fromage Montage cheese crawl.) BBQ Pork Rinds served with pimento cheese You can grab ’em for $5. Our pork rinds had a great coating of barbecue flavor that was a little hotter than regular barbecue sauce, but still fairly low heat. The cheese was super creamy, greasy, and rich, which only enhanced all the flavors to make this an incredibly explosive dish. This treat was our favorite at Festival Favorites, which says a lot! BBQ Pork Rinds served with pimento cheese You may remember the Key Lime Tart from the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival AND the EPCOT Festival of the Arts. Key Lime Tart Now it’s made its way to the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival for $4.75. This tasty dessert nails the key lime flavor, but may struggle with the Florida heat. Ours ended up being gooey and runny on the inside after quickly melting, but it still tasted great. Key Lime Tart With the food down, let’s jump into all the drinks we tried! Drinks A couple of iconic Festival drinks are up for grabs, too, starting with the Frozen S’mores made with Toasted Marshmallow Syrup and complete with S’mores-style garnishes (chocolate shavings and a graham cracker piece). At first, no one knew quite what to make of this sippable twist on the classic campfire treat when it made its debut back in the day. (Remember the Desserts & Champagne Booth?). But clearly, it has stood the test of time! This non-alcoholic drink costs $4.75 and is a real winner among kids. Featuring all sorts of goodies, this shake at its core is a chocolate milkshake, so even when it melts it’s still oh-so-good. Frozen S’mores Now, I KNOW a lot of people will be excited for this one: the Irish Milk Shake (previously known as the Guinness Baileys Coffee Shake), made with Guinness Stout, Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur, and vanilla ice cream — is a Festival Favorite, indeed! Irish Milk Shake While it came as a surprise that the long-standing Ireland Booth would not be returning to the Festival this year, the presence of the Irish Milk Shake here provides a bit of balm. You can likewise ease your sorrows over its absence for $12.50. Our shake was very creamy, decadent, and delicious. Its chocolate shaving toppings are a nice touch and the fact that it’s still served in an Ireland cup makes this not only a great beverage but a great souvenir, as well! Guinness Baileys Coffee Shake in 2023 We opted for the Festival Favorites Beer Flight to try all three beers on the menu: the Festival-famous Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen, Parish Brewing Co. SIPS Cab Franc Strawberry, and 3 Daughters Brewing Beach Blonde Ale. Festival Favorites Beer Flight Each individual beer costs $5.75 or $9.75 (6oz and 12oz respectively), while the Flight is $10.25. We started with the 3 Daughters Brewing Beach Blonde Ale and it was our least favorite of the three, not truly standing out in any capacity. 3 Daughters Brewing Beach Blonde Ale Next, we tried the Parish Brewing Co. SIPS Cab Franc Strawberry, which was our favorite drink of the Flight. This beer had a very bold strawberry flavor that you immediately taste, so strawberry fans should give this one a try. Parish Brewing Co. SIPS Cab Franc Strawberry Finally, we finished with the Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen, which had that tasty citrusy flavor we were hoping for. While very good, this beer isn’t unique to the Food & Wine Festival and can be found in the Germany Pavilion at EPCOT. Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen Wine drinkers can opt for Goldschmidt ‘Katherine’ Cabernet Sauvignon or Martin Ray Chardonnay. OVERALL All in all, Festival Favorites honors its name and really delivers. Packed with tasty treats and beverages, this booth did not disappoint and we don’t think it will disappoint you either. Everything was a home run for us aside from the Beer Flight, but even that was still good. Festival Favorites will likely have a long line due to its popular offerings, but if you’re willing to wait, you might just get some of the best snacks and drinks of the entire festival. Raise a glass and say, “PROST,” my friends! It’s time to go to Germany! Germany Festival Booth The Germany Booth has a long history at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival and is well-known for serving up some absolutely classic Festival dishes. And even though it may be hard to tear yourself away from Karamell-Küche while you’re visiting the Germany pavilion, we think you’ll find that this Festival Marketplace Food Booth offers plenty to lure you in when it comes to classic German cuisine. Eats Schinkennudeln may just be the most popular item at the Germany Booth, and it’s one we’ve loved for years. This rich pasta gratin dish with ham, onions, and cheese costs $5.25. This dish, by the way, is an eligible item if you’re participating in the Emile’s Fromage Montage cheese crawl during the Festival! Schinkennudeln This is always a favorite of ours. You get all the delicious flavors in a hearty dish. It is sure to fill you up, so grab it while you’re hungry. BEWARE: You may feel the need to take a nap after enjoying it! It reminds us of a hearty baked mac & cheese. This is a must-get, especially if you like cheese! The Bratwurst, for $6.25, is served on a pretzel roll with mustard. Bratwurst on a pretzel roll with mustard On the opposite end of the spectrum from the pasta gratin dish, we weren’t a big fan of the bratwurst. It was kind of chewy and the bread was surprisingly a bit stale. The mustard did save it, but it might not have been enough. However, if you’re looking for a simple “hot dog,” this might be what you’re looking for. The classic Apple Strudel is complete with vanilla sauce and costs $4.75. Apple Strudel with vanilla sauce The apples were crispy while the crusty was soft, and it was a great combination! It was great, but it needed more vanilla sauce. We could have used a whole helping of that vanilla sauce on the side, but alas, there was just a small drizzle on the side. Drinks The Beer Flight features the new-to-the-Festival Schöfferhofer Lemon Zest Hefeweizen and von Trapp Brewing Dunkel Lager joining the Weihenstephaner Festbier. When we stopped by they were already out of the Schöfferhofer Lemon Zest Hefeweizen, so they gave us two Weihenstephaner Festbier. The Schöfferhofer Lemon Zest Hefeweizen is available here in place of the well-known Grapefruit Hefeweizen. (But don’t fret! You can find that popular beer at Festival Favorites, fittingly enough.) Full Spread at the Germany Booth The Germany Beer Flight is $10.25. If you prefer, though, you can try them individually for $5.75 for 6 ounces or $9.75 for 12 ounces. Beer flight The von Trapp Brewing Dunkel Lager is brewed in Vermont. Fun fact: if you visit the von Trapp Brewing website, you’ll find that “Yup, we are those von Trapps.” This dark beer was a typical dark beer while the Weihenstephaner Festbier was a typical light beer. Both were refreshing and easy beers to drink, but there was nothing particularly special about them. Wine drinkers can opt for the Selbach-Oster Riesling QbA for $9.00. OVERALL We’ll keep coming back for that Schinkennudeln! We would recommend skipping the bratwurst, but the rest is worth a try. If you’re looking for a nice refreshing beer that’s not too adventurous, then one of these might be for you! Trying to plan the PERFECT trip to the 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival? It’s time to dig into some EARTH EATS at the 2024 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival! 2024 Earth Eats Booth The Earth Eats Marketplace Food Booth returns this year, having been absent from the Festival in 2023. That said, it comes back in a new way this year. If you’re familiar with Earth Eats from previous EPCOT Food and Wine Festivals, you may recall that it delivered an entire menu of plant-based offerings. But that has changed this year, and we’re here to bring you our complete review. Menu In addition to no longer being a plant-based booth, Earth Eats also delivers two food items that are entirely new to the Festival this year. In fact, the Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib is clearly made for carnivores, and it’s joined by a new sweet treat: Lemon Poppy Seed Cake. 2024 Earth Eats Menu For beverages, you can choose from Blood Orange Agua Fresca and Harken Wines Barrel Fermented Chardonnay. Let’s see how the new menu stacks up here at Earth Eats! Eats The new Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib is plated with goat cheese polenta, puttanesca sauce, shaved pecorino, and petit herbs. Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib This dish is available for $8.50. The braised beef just fell apart. There was truly no need for a knife. This was juicy and absolutely melted in your mouth. This had a deep flavor profile that rounded it out to make this a super tasty dish! The goat cheese polenta was spectacular. A citrusy dessert is also up for grabs: the Lemon Poppy Seed Cake is covered with lemon icing. Lemon Poppy Seed Cake You can try this cake for $4.50. This was light, it was airy and it did not have too much icing on top. This dessert was lovely and the lemon was not too strong. It also gets bonus points because it is so cute! Lemon Poppy Seed Cake Drinks The non-alcoholic Blood Orange Agua Fresca makes its way over from EPCOT’s spring event, the Flower and Garden Festival. It costs $4.75. Blood Orange Agua Fresca We were a little nervous because typically there is a lot of citrus involved, but this was actually the opposite of that! It was not tart and instead it was so refreshing. This is great on a hot day and when we tried it, it felt like it was hydrating us. If you prefer, you can also try a new wine offering at the Festival this year: Harken Wines Barrel Fermented Chardonnay for $6. OVERALL We found all three dishes here to be spectacular! All three items were home runs to us! We will say that we wished there were more options here, but regardless this both was so good! The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has kicked off, and we are BUSY eating the things, drinking the drinks, and checking out all the festival goodies. The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is here! Now, we’ve already given you a first look at EVERY single piece of EPCOT Food & Wine Festival merchandise we’ve seen, but there’s one piece of merchandise that could be highly popular…except it’s sort of hidden, so you need to know where to look for it. So if you want to get the jump on this souvenir that’s bound to go viral, keep reading. When we shared the full list of merchandise at this year’s EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, you may have noticed the super charming Chef Remy Lug Bag. Okay, these Lug bags are pretty much ALWAYS super popular, and this is the first time we’ve seen Remy featured on one. Remy Lug Bag You’ll find an adorable Remy and EPCOT Food & Wine Festival pattern on the inside lining of the bag. This crossbody bag would make a great day bag for when you’re hanging out in EPCOT, right? Even the inside is adorable It comes with an adjustable long strap so you can choose how you want to wear it, too. There’s also a little hand on top. These little bags are SO handy when you don’t want to lug (pun intended) around a heavy backpack or purse. Just strap it over your body and GO. Long strap The back features the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival logo, so you’ll remember exactly where you got it. It’s available for $65. Back of the bag But here’s the thing…these bags aren’t so easy to find right now — and not because they’re selling out. If you’re looking to grab one, they’re not on display front and center like the festival Lug bags have been in the past. Instead, we found them in the Creations Shop in a separate section with the bags and pins kinda off to themselves. So they’re easy to miss. So, if you’re looking to get your hands on this soon-to-be viral souvenir, grab it before everyone figures out where to find it in the shop! We’ll be keeping you updated on the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, including getting you ALL the food reviews, so stay tuned to DFB for more. The Spain booth returns to this year’s EPCOT Food & Wine Festival with two new menu items! Close-up of the Span sign The 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially started and we’re having a great time tasting all the delicious eats and drinks. We’ve already visited several food booths throughout the park, but now it’s time to get some eats and sangria at the Spain booth! Is this booth worth a stop? Let’s check it out! Menu Over at the Spain booth, you’ll find two new dishes, a returning red sangria, and a wine option. 2024 Spain Booth Menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats The Spanish Charcuterie this year is a new version featuring Jamón, Manchego, and pan con tomate. This is priced at $6.50. We found this to be a great adult lunch-able. Both the ham and Manchego cheese were yummy, as well as the pan con tomate. This dish is not bad and is quite good, it just is not as good as the next dish we had. Spanish Charcuterie The other new dish for this year is Paella Negra made with Squid ink rice with shrimp, Bay scallops, and octopus served with garlic aïoli. You can grab this for $8. This item is one of our best of the fest. It comes with two big shrimp and scallops and it is SO fresh. It is topped with a garlic aioli that we found to be different but none the less, it was so good! This dish has elevated flavors and is a fun twist on original paella because of the garlic aioli and squid ink rice. We are still dreaming about this dish; it was so good. Paella Negra We’ve had all the eats, so let’s go check out those new drinks! Drinks A Red Sangria returns to the Spain booth this year! You can grab it for $7.50. This was super refreshing, but we found it to be on the stronger side. You can taste the alcohol, but it was still a solid sangria. Red Sangria You can also pick up a glass of Quinta del ’67 Almansa Garnacha Tintorera this year for $7.50. So, how does this booth stack up overall? OVERALL We cannot get over how good the Paella Negra is! Out of everything that we tried we will 100% be returning to the Spain booth just to get this dish. The charcuterie and sangria were in no means bad and are solid options, but if we could only choose one to have again it would be the Paella Negra. Bonjour from France! This Festival Marketplace Food Booth is always a popular stop at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival! 2024 France Booth And we’re thrilled to be visiting the France Booth to bring you our complete review, just like we’re doing with every single Food Booth at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival. With a mix of returning fan-favorite items alongside several new offerings this year… well, let’s just say it seems like a great time to visit France (or, EPCOT’s France, in any case)! Eats The new Moelleux aux Oignons Caramélisés et au Fromage de Chèvre is an egg moelleux with goat cheese and caramelized onions. It costs $7.95. Moelleux aux Oignons Caramélisés et au Fromage de Chèvre We weren’t sure we were going to like this because of the egg, but it was actually very pleasant. The egg was very fluffy, cloudy, and pillowy (yes we just described eggs as pillowy and we’re sticking with it!). The onions could have been a bit more caramelized, but honestly, the dish was great. There was just enough cheese sprinkled through it that we got some with each bite. Next is the Brioche aux Escargots. The France Booth has presented Escargots in a croissant at more recent Festivals, so this is something of a new take on a previous dish. You can try it for $7.95. Brioche aux Escargots The escargot was fantastic. It was garlicky and soft. Someone else had described them as “slimy yet satisfying” like Timon on The Lion King, and honestly, that’s a great way to describe them. Inside the pastry Let’s dig into the Boeuf Bourguignon, Pommes de terre roties! It presents braised short ribs in cabernet with roasted potatoes. It’s $7.95. (This is a plate change from last year’s “puffed potatoes” which, yes, were totally tater tots.) Boeuf Bourguignon, Pommes de terre roties This dish was wonderful. It’s really flavorful and melts in your mouth. There was nothing dry about the meat at all. It was very robust and hearty, and we absolutely loved it. The Crème Brûlée mangue et passion à la Confiture — or Mango passion crème brûlée with fruit compote –returns to deliver a sweet dish to the otherwise savory food menu. Crème Brûlée mangue et passion à la Confiture The France Booth typically serves a Crème Brûlée, though with a different flavor profile at each Food and Wine Festival. It costs $5.95. YUM! The Crème Brûlée is really nice! The crust was perfectly toasted and crackable, but the inside wasn’t much of a custard as it was much more runny than expected. The mango was delicious and very much at the forefront of the dessert. Drinks The new Cocktail au Gin et Aux Fraises features Rose d’Argent Strawberry Gin, cranberry juice, and DOLE Pineapple Juice. You can raise a glass for $13.95. Cocktail au Gin et Aux Fraises This cocktail was incredible! It was so sweet and refreshing. You may also try the Guillaume Touton, Brut de Pêche Sparkling wine with natural peach for $6.50. Guillaume Touton, Brut de Pêche Sparkling wine This was a little drier than we expected but still very good. The peach really comes through making it a nice fruity drink! The Mas La Chevalière, Pinot Noir is also new, and is $6.95 for the pour. Finally, we’re back to a returning item. What was the Parisian Cosmo Slush last year is now the Frozen French Cosmo. This refresher brings together vodka, Grey Goose Le Citron Vodka, Grand Marnier, and cranberry juice and costs $14.95. Frozen French Cosmo The cosmo is incredible when it’s frozen! It melts fast and isn’t quite as good melted, but still nice. It’s on the sweeter side and is a refreshing cold drink. OVERALL We really LOVED this booth. All the items were so cohesive together, and we would get it all again. The escargot was our favorite food item with the frozen Cosmo was our top drink, but it was all really great. This is certainly a Best of the Fest booth for us! Full Spread Trying to plan the PERFECT trip to the 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival? We’ll be keeping you updated on all of the latest. Well, friends… I hope you’re ready for some WINGS! Brew-Wine Lab Why? Because the Brew-Wing Lab is back at the 2024 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival! And though this Festival Marketplace Food Booth returns once again this year with a slightly new name, the emphasis remains on an assortment of Chicken Wings… but with a few additional surprises in store, like a certain little something called a Pickle Milk Shake (!!!). Oh, and did I mention there’s a Muppets theme to the whole thing? Intrigued? We sure are! So join us for our complete review of the Brew-Wing Lab! Atmosphere Okay, before we dig into the eats and drinks, I just want to remind you that there’s an added bit of FUN here inside the Brew-Ling Lab (which is located inside The Odyssey pavilion). This Food Booth comes complete with friends in the form of MUPPETS! Welcome to Muppet Labs! Brew-Wing Muppet Labs Bunsen (that would be Dr. Bunsen Honeydew) and Beaker are your hosts, of sorts, and you’ll enjoy their company by way of videos that play from time to time in the Lab. Atmosphere You’ll also see that even the tables are uniquely themed to the Lab, and there are PLENTY of them so you can take in some likely much-needed air-conditioning while you partake of the menu items. Menu Okay, are you ready to dig in? Because the menu at the Brew-Wing Lab is STACKED, once again! The assortment of Wings includes Traditional Buffalo Wings with celery and ranch, Peanut Butter and Jelly Sticky Wings, Garlic-Parmesan Wings, and — with a name created in true Muppets fashion — Unnecessarily Spicy Yet Extremely Tasty Carolina Reaper Pepper Curry Wings with creamy cucumber raita. 2024 Menu The Wings are joined on the menu by the plant-based IMPOSSIBLE Buffalo Chicken Tenders with ranch and celery and Fried Pickle Spears with dill ranch. So, yeah… you’re going to want something to drink with ALL THAT. Options include a non-alcoholic Frozen Pomegranate & Raspberry Tea, along with an assortment of brews along with a seltzer and a hard cider that can be enjoyed individually, and some are available as part of a flight: Coppertail Brewing Smoked Lager, Keel Farms Elderberry Serrano Hard Cider, 3 Daughters Brewing Pickle Hard Seltzer, 3 Daughters Brewing Palm Paradise Hefeweizen, The Bruery Desert Flora, and Cigar City Peach White Oak Jai Alai. And, yes, as mentioned above, the famous PICKLE MILK SHAKE is back, too! Okay, that’s A LOT, so let’s waste no time… Eats The Traditional Buffalo Wings are served up with celery and ranch for that classic presentation. The batch is $7.75. And, just as the word “traditional” implies, this dish remains exactly what you’d expect, with the ranch serving to cut some of the spice that comes from the buffalo sauce. Don’t get me wrong, they’re solid, but they’re not unlike what you can get elsewhere and fairly basic when considered among the other offerings here. Traditional Buffalo Wings with celery and ranch For instance, you can opt for the Peanut Butter and Jelly Sticky Wings instead, presenting the nostalgic flavors of everyone’s favorite childhood sandwich in Wing form! This dish is $7.75. So this is something you come here for this food booth: unique, experimental flavors. First, you’re going to need to love peanut butter because that’s the biggest flavor we tasted on these babies. Yes, it’s unique, but we wouldn’t say these are the best wings we’ve ever had. Peanut Butter and Jelly Sticky Wings Also up for grabs are the Garlic-Parmesan Wings for a full-on savory option, coming in at $7.75. Now, these wings aren’t just unique, but also quite tasty. This is a flavor combo that just works with the juiciness of the wings. THESE we would order again. Garlic Parmesan Wings Okay! Who’s up for some Unnecessarily Spicy Yet Extremely Tasty Carolina Reaper Pepper Curry Wings? A Creamy Cucumber Raita is served along with the wings to provide a cooling factor, and the dish is $7.75. This dish is actually new this year, though it does echo a menu item from last year’s Brew-Wing booth, the Unnecessarily Spicy, Yet Extremely Tasty Scotch Bonnet Pepper-Curry Wings. So, how does this year’s version featuring Carolina Reaper pepper compare to the Scotch Bonnet (which did live up to its “unnecessarily spicy” moniker)? Okay, we love spicy food. These wings ARE SPICY. In fact, it’s so spicy that the heat takes away from everything else we ate (don’t bother to eat anything with these because that spiciness will overwhelm everything else). This is another one of those fun and unique things you’ll want to try just for the experience of it, though. Unnecessarily Spicy Yet Extremely Tasty Carolina Reaper Pepper Curry Wings Changing course just a bit, we have the Impossible Buffalo Chicken Tenders with Blue Cheese, Celery, and Ranch for $7.75.Last year we enjoyed this so much, we even recommended it to meat eaters. IMPOSSIBLE Buffalo Chicken Tenders with plant-based blue cheese, plant-based ranch, and celery Our final food dish is the Fried Pickle Spears with Dill Ranch for $5.75. These are just your basic breaded pickle spears, so there’s nothing too exciting about them. That’s disappointing considering the food at this booth is supposed to be a bit more experimental. If you like fried pickles, though, they’re good as just that. Fried Pickle Spears with Dill Ranch Drinks Okay, so yeah… with all that spice, you’ll definitely want something to drink to go with it! Options include the returning non-alcoholic Frozen Pomegranate & Raspberry Tea, which is Twinings Pomegranate & Raspberry Herbal Tea infused with orange ice cream molecules. This drink costs $5. Now, even though tea is involved here, we find this drink to be more akin to a bright and fruity candy flavor, with little of that tempered tea flavor one might expect. In fact, we think flavor-wise, it’s actually a bit more geared to a kid’s palate than an adult’s. It’s refreshing and fun. Frozen Fusion Now, our next drink… well, “refreshing” may not exactly be the word for it. We’re talking about the back-again-whether-you-like-it-or-not Pickle Milk Shake! And it can be yours — if you’re ready to risk it — for the price of $6. So this is certainly one of those experimental things, and it would be fun to prank a friend with this drink. It basically tastes like you’re eating a pickle with a vanilla milkshake…and, if you can imagine that…well, yeah. So, yep, this, too, is an experience. Pickle Milk Shake But wait… THERE’S STILL MORE! We grabbed TWO Beer Flights. The first was comprised of 3 Daughters Brewing Palm Paradise Hefeweizen, The Bruery Desert Flora with hibiscus and prickly pear, and Cigar City Peach White Oak Jai Alai for $10.25. We loved the Cigar City Peach beer, which tasted, well, peachy. The other two were just standard beer flavors that didn’t really do a lot for us, but that peach beer just shines. Beer Flight 1 The second flight we grabbed featured 3 Daughters Brewing Pickle Hard Seltzer, Keel Farms Elderberry Serrano Hard Cider, and Coppertail Brewing Smoked Lager for $10.25. The Smoked Lager was VERY smoky and a bit too much for us. However, we loved the Elderberry, which was fruity and delicious and was our favorite in the flight. That clear thing in the photo below? That’s the weird Pickle Cider, and it’s about as bad as you can imagine. It tastes like super salty water with a hint of sweetness. It was just GROSS. Beer Flight 2 OVERALL Okay, you are not going to Brew Wing for a culinary experience. You go here for the Muppets theme and the idea of eating and drinking fun, unique, and experimental things — or to prank your friends and family with a Pickle Milkshake. This booth won’t be winning any of our Best of the Fest awards, but if you want to try some eats and drinks that are a little different, this is where you want to go.
