  2. If you’ve been a Disney fan for over three and a half decades, then you’ll remember one of the most iconic versions of Cinderella Castle the world has ever seen. Cinderella Castle For Disney’s 25th Anniversary, Disney decorated the Magic Kingdom park icon to look like a giant cake to celebrate the anniversary and well…it certainly was a sight to see. Since then, Disney has been poked about their bold choice by many different companies, but one of the most common has been Orlando International Airport (MCO). And now, thanks to the year being 2025, they’ve done it again! Commenters are really enjoying the fun poke at the park, and we find it totally fitting since it’s also the 25th year of the the 2000s! One commenter even shared that the company should cover it with toilet paper next time to mimic the time Stitch covered the castle in the bathroom essential, and MCO replied with, “On a scale of 1-10, we give this idea a 626. Here for it. ” It was definitely a sight to behold! We always enjoy seeing the fun ideas Disney comes up with for special events, anniversaries, and everything in between, and are looking forward to seeing what’s next! More Recent Disney News! 5. We are Disney Food Blog, and we have made it our job to want to lead you toward the best possible dining options during your trip. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant However…we’ll also be honest and tell you when a restaurant really wouldn’t be worth your time, because we don’t want you to spend a ton of money on a meal and then come out disappointed. So we’ve done some hard thinking, and these are the restaurants we really think you should skip this year. Be Our Guest Restaurant Over in Magic Kingdom, you’ll find Be Our Guest — a table service restaurant that allows you to dine in the Beast’s Castle from Beauty and the Beast? Stunning? Absolutely? And we’d even go as far as saying it’s a must-do for die-hard Beauty and the Beast fans…but other than that, we really don’t recommend. Be Our Guest The truth is that this spot is EXPENSIVE — as expensive as character dining meals are around the resort (and even more expensive than a few of those), and while you’re definitely paying for the atmosphere and experience, this ISN’T a character dining meal. You’ll see the Beast for a second and get to wave from afar, but that’s it. Be Our Guest Restaurant Not to mention that the food here just really isn’t great and has let us down some of the times we’ve eaten here in the past few years. Again, if you’re fine paying for that atmosphere, then go for it, but know that you may be left wanting by this prix-fixe meal. If you’re going to spend that kind of money and want just as picturesque an experience WITH characters, we suggest heading to Cinderella’s Royal Table instead! Space 220 Speaking of amazing atmosphere but meh food, we have Space 220 in EPCOT. Now, normally EPCOT is known for its fantastic restaurants and it’s rare we find one we dislike, but Space 220 makes that list. Space 220 Don’t get us wrong, the setting here is AMAZING. You get to feel like you’re traveling up into space to have a meal among the stars, and that’s truly a meal like no other. While the food is a little more adventurous, that’s not our issue with it (though adult picky eaters will likely HATE it because you can’t order off the kids menu here) — it’s that for the price you’re paying, the food just isn’t enough to make the whole experience worth it. Space 220 Not to mention we’ve had many readers of ours say that the experience is a lengthy one, and not in the way you enjoy and expect from a table service restaurant. No, they’ve said that their service was very slow and they were sitting at their table for the whole experience for 2+ hours! Listen, sitting in space is cool, but there are a lot of OTHER things to do in EPCOT, you don’t want to be spending that much time stuck in the middle of the night sky. Pinocchio Village Haus Moving over to a quick service spot, we’re quite literally begging you to go to ANY other quick service spot in the entirety of Magic Kingdom than Pinocchio Village Haus. Pinocchio Village Haus This spot serves up mostly classic theme parks eats with a few different offerings here and there. At best, this restaurant is meh, and at worst (which is more often than we’d like) it’s flat out blech. We can’t tell you the amount of times we’ve gotten something here that we’ve downright hated. Seating inside We can’t say the same for basically any other spot in Magic Kingdom, even Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, so just take our word for it and head straight past this one. Is it going to make you sick or be downright terrible? No, not necessarily, but when people talk about a bad food experience in Magic Kingdom, this is usually where we think they’re talking about (and we’re right at least half of the time). Rosie’s All-American Cafe Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, finding great dining options is a struggle sometimes if you don’t know where to look. And we’ll tell you right now, DON’T look at Rosie’s All-American Cafe because you’ll be disappointed most likely. Rosie’s All American Cafe Again, this isn’t a restaurant that will have you spitting out your food and exclaiming in disgust, but you’ll pay those high Disney prices for plain old theme park food and essentially go “um…that wasn’t worth it.” We’ve eaten here countless times and basically forget it exists unless there’s a new dining option we have to review. Full Spread from Rosie’s We’re always here to bring you the latest Disney World dining reviews to make sure you’re prepared for your upcoming vacations, so stay tuned to DFB! 7. Trying to navigate Lighting Lane in Disney World can be difficult, but that’s why we’re here to help! Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Lightning Lane There are so many rules to remember and tons of tips and tricks that are important to make the most of your vacation, and some parks we don’t even recommend you use Lightning Lane in. We’ve tried out all the tricks to see what works best, and trust us when we say these are the two that work every time without fail! First, let’s review what Lightning Lane is. You’ve got Lightning Lane Multi Pass, an optional paid service available through the My Disney Experience app which allows you to bypass standby lines and enter the Lightning Lane at select attractions in the parks by paying a base price for multiple attractions. Lightning Lane Single Pass, on the other hand, is where you can select to skip the line for one attraction by paying ONE fee for that attraction alone. Lightning Lane at Peter Pan’s Flight For this post, we’re going to focus on Lightning Lane Multi Pass since it’s the more popular service while also being a little harder to navigate. You can make up to 3 Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections before your trip (7 days before if you’re staying at a Disney World Hotel, 3 days before for everyone else) and the attractions for 3/4 parks (not counting Animal Kingdom) are split into higher and lowered tiers with more popular rides in the higher tiers. When you go to book, you can select one from the highest tier and 2 from the bottom tiers, and this is where our first tip actually comes in. Lightning Lane at Expedition Everest When booking your first three attractions, be sure to choose what we call a “throwaway” attraction — one of the lowest tiered attractions that you can book first thing in the morning, scan in and hop on the ride to free up that selection to then choose ANY ride — once you’ve scanned in for your first ride, the tier requirements go away and you can select any ride that still has availability. This is a great way to make sure you can select another higher tiered attraction for later in the day before they all fill up! The Barnstormer is a lower tiered attraction Not seeing the Lightning Lane options you were hoping for? This is where our second tip comes in — not only is it important to refresh throughout the day (we know, annoying, but if you’re trying to get the best times, it’s the name of the game!), we discovered a trick to refreshing to (hopefully) get you some better options to choose from. You can use this method after you have made all of your initial selections and confirmed your purchase. This tip can help you find better times for attractions that you have already booked. When you are on the main screen, tap on the selection you are looking to modify the time for and then select “Modify Plan” in the pop-up. ©Disney You will then be taken to a screen where you can modify the experience by either picking a new time or picking a new experience. On this page, select whatever time the app gives you to modify the selection to (even if it is much later). Then, you will be taken to a screen to review the details of your selection. ©Disney On this page, find the attraction again, and you will see a “Modify Time” option in blue text. Click on this to see a list of available times. If you’re still not seeing an ideal time, you can repeatedly click “Close” and then “Modify Time” again to refresh the available times. Your selections are only saved for five minutes, but you can continue to refresh the available times, and if the five minutes run out, you can simply back out and come back in. 9. Traveling around Disney World seems a little stressful until you realize that if you’re staying on Disney World property, you can get complimentary transportation pretty much anywhere you go! Skyliner Station at Art of Animation However, there are some transportation mistakes we see happening over and over again that we know mess people up. Whether you’re using Disney World transportation or not, PLEASE be aware of these potential Disney World transportation mistakes and know how to avoid them! Internal Bus Loops At some Disney World hotels (not all, but a few!) you can’t just hop on the bus and head straight to whatever park you’re on your way to. Some hotels have what are called internal bus loops and they can seriously throw YOU for a loop if you’re not expecting them. Caribbean Beach bus stop These are found at Disney World hotels that are so large and widespread that they need more than one bus stop to accommodate everyone. Instead of making someone at the far end of the resort walk all the way to the ONE bus stop at the other side. These bus loops make it easier for everyone to find a stop close to them, BUT it also means that a bus could fill up before it even gets to your stop (especially in the morning) and add 30 minutes to an hour onto your commute. Bus Station at Port Orleans Riverside The Disney World hotels with internal bus loops are: Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort (3 stops) Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (8 stops) Saratoga Springs (5 stops) Old Key West (5 stops) Coronado Springs (4 stops) Not Allowing Enough Time Something we see far too often, and experience ourselves more times than we’d care to admit, is that we leave our hotel or a park and need to make it to another park/area of the resort with only half an hour or 45 minutes to spare. This is especially important if you’re heading to something like a dining reservation — ALWAYS ALLOW AN HOUR! Monorail line It’s always better to be early rather than late, and transportation issues happen all the time — your Monorail or Skyliner car gets stopped for 10 minutes, the ferryboat has to stop in the middle of the water to make way for another boat, or maybe the bus gets caught in terrible traffic or has to stop at another resort unexpectedly to get guests. If you know the trip should only take half an hour, allow an hour. If it’s supposed to take 20 minutes allow an hour. Better safe than sorry! Not Realizing the TTC Exists Unless you’re taking a Minnie Van (Disney’s private partnership with Lyft) or a bus straight from a Disney World hotel, you will NOT be dropped off right at Magic Kingdom. Instead, you’ll travel through the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) where you’ll take a Ferryboat or the Monorail to the park. The TTC We’ve seen and heard MANY people frustrated by this if they weren’t expecting it, while others who go to the park frequently feel it’s part of the magic. Whichever side you fall on, if you’re planning on rope dropping Magic Kingdom, you need to park at least 30 minutes BEFORE rope drop time, because it’ll take you 20-30 minutes to get to the park gates from parking. Forgetting When The Express Monorail is Closed You can take either the Magic Kingdom Monorail or the Resort Monorail to get to Magic Kingdom — the MK Monorail will get you straight there while the Resort Monorail will stop at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and the Grand Floridian Resort before dropping you off at Magic Kingdom. (Or, you can take the Ferryboat!) Monorail However, if you’re stopping into Magic Kingdom early in the morning to do one or two things and then turning right back around, don’t be surprised when the Express Monorail is closed and isn’t taking guests back to the TTC. Instead, you’ll have to take the Resort Monorail and stop through the Contemporary Resort before getting back to the TTC, or you could take the Ferryboat. Again, this will add a little more time onto your trip, so keep that in mind when you’re planning on when to head out of the park! 11. The My Disney Experience app just got a major update. ©Shutterstock The Disney World app has added a new feature on iOS devices that will show you your mobile order status without ever opening the app. The update will also let you select “I’m Here” to alert Disney of your arrival to get your mobile order. The new update is rolling out as of January 14th, 2025. The My Disney Experience app is a free app that you can download before ever starting your Disney World trip. This planning tool gives you access to wait times, food mobile ordering, your hotel information, your park tickets, dining reservations, and more. ©Disney The app has become an essential part of Disney World vacations especially if you plan on using Lighting Lane MultiPass to skip the long lines during your trip. While the app is essential, we won’t deny there are some major issues in our minds. In the past, we’ve seen major glitches that have impacted Lightning Lanes and dining reservations. ©Disney We also have our own nitpicky issues like the fact that it won’t let you save gift card information for easier checkout, there is no wait time alert system, and other small things. This latest change will be super convenient because we have often found ourselves consistently refreshing to make sure we don’t miss our pick-up window for our lunches. ©Disney You can check out what the new changes look like right here! On your phone lock screen, you’ll see your order number, restaurant, and the “I’m here, prepare my order” button. A screenshot from the new update You can also choose to allow or not allow Disney to send this live activity update to your lock screen. Once you click the “I’m here” button, it will launch the app and take you to your order information. Our order is ready! You will also spot a change at the top of your iOS device to notify you the app is working in the background. The live activity notification will also switch to alert you when your order is ready if you have your screen turned off once the order if prepared. The app updates This is one little change that we hugely appreciate! It might not seem like a big deal but this will be much more convenient than searching through the app to find your mobile order details. Now if Disney could just meet our other list of demands for the app, that would be wonderful. Don’t forget to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more news and updates. The first launch of products will include six brand-new LEGO Bluey sets that fall within the LEGO 4+ and LEGO DUPLO age groups. ©Bluey and LEGO The LEGO sets will be perfect for fans of the show and the announcement details the goal of the partnership is, “to create fun moments of imaginative roleplay and creativity for families, as they build, connect and play out their favourite scenes from the show.” The first picture of the new set shows a blue block and an orange block, the colors of Bluey and her sister Bingo! ©Bluey The company will reveal the six new sets over the next few months so you can glance at them before they officially go on sale in June 2025. As huge LEGO fans ourselves, this collaboration makes us super excited to bring Bluey to life in the outside world. We can’t wait to build along with Bluey and Bingo while we watch the movie that is expected to hit theaters in 2027. ©Disney Bluey has been a massive hit around the world with fans watching over 43 billion minutes on Disney+ in 2023! It comes as no surprise to us that the Bluey Empire is being brought to Disney World, Disneyland, and the Disney Cruise Line soon and now we can’t wait to pack our LEGOS to help pass the time on the airplane as we head to our next vacation. Bluey even appeared in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade We can’t wait to see what these six sets will look like over the next few months. Is it weird we’re hoping for a Bluey airport set? 15. At the start of 2025, Disney rolled out a new perk for guests staying at Disney World hotels: FREE water park tickets on check-in day! According to Disney, these tickets are non-transferrable and cannot be used on a different day, even if the water park is closed due to weather or other factors. However, one of our readers recently had a different experience. Blizzard Beach A DFB reader named Ken recently reached out to us with an interesting experience they had regarding this water park perk. They wrote in part, “We are in Disney World this week and I thought I would let you know that because the [water park] was closed on our arrival day they gave us a special pass that we can use it [sic] anytime during our stay.” Along with this information, Ken attached a photo of a “Water Park Arrival Day Benefit (Extended Recovery Pass)” in their Disney World app, showing dates valid through the length of their trip. Blizzard Beach We immediately checked Walt Disney World’s official website and found that it still reads “This benefit is only on the day of check-in, and is valid for admission to either Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park or Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park (whichever is open). This benefit cannot be transferred to a different day. Check the park calendar and operating hours closer to your 2025 arrival to plan your check-in day. Usage of this benefit is subject to availability. Water parks are subject to extended rehabilitation, seasonal, capacity and weather closures, or may close for other reasons.” Typhoon Lagoon This would seemingly indicate that, as the “free” water park ticket perk is integrated into the resort’s operations, Disney may handle instances of a water park being closed on a case-by-case basis, and there’s no in-writing guarantee this type of pass will be offered if the resort’s water park is closed on the day of your check-in. Typhoon Lagoon That being said, if you do arrive at Walt Disney World to find either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon shuttered due to inclement weather, we’d definitely recommend checking the app ASAP to see if you’ve received the same type of pass. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney World’s latest perk. 10 Weeks When Disney World Will Be EMPTY in 2025 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 17. This Disney World trip R.E.P.O.R.T. isn’t for the faint of heart because I am ready to SPILL the TEA about my latest visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth. EPCOT monorail I’ve been going to Disney World since before I could walk and I’m lucky to still live within a few hours of the parks, so I visit every chance I get — for business and for pleasure (I am an editor here at Disney Food Blog after all, so sometimes it really IS my job to go to Disney World!). My latest trip to Disney World was actually to celebrate my latest trip around the sun, and I’ve got some HOT takes about what I experienced. I loved the trip R.E.P.O.R.T. my friend and co-editor, Maddie, recently did after her most recent visit to Disney World, so I decided to steal it for mine! This was just a quick visit to EPCOT — mostly for my birthday dinner (more on that later!) but I was still able to fit in plenty of fun. Reading — All the little non-festival things EPCOT almost always has a festival going on these days, but my most recent visit happened during one of the rare times that there wasn’t. And truthfully, I took my time to appreciate all the little, non-festival things that make EPCOT great all year long. EPCOT Canada Pavilion Of course, that doesn’t mean I’m not a fan of EPCOT festivals — especially the Festival of the Arts which kicks off on January 17th! But, strolling through the waterfalls back in the Canada Pavilion or taking the time to read all the animal facts inside the Seas Pavilion is a welcome respite from the chaos that EPCOT festivals can be. Eating — Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs I don’t want to toot my own horn, but here at DFB, I’m known for being something of a Corn Dog Connoisseur. So, of course, I had to make my way over to Disney’s BoardWalk during this visit to FINALLY check out Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. Let me tell you, trying to decide which corn dog to order from this menu was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever made and I’m definitely not being dramatic about this at all. Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs Eventually, I decided on the Golden Dragon. It’s an all-beef hot dog, fried in a cornmeal batter, and rolled in panko bread crumbs. It’s served with sriracha mayo, sweet Thai chili sauce, and a bag of chips. It sounded like a fancy take on a traditional corn dog without a ton of fuss — but there was, in fact, a fuss. Unfortunately, my corn dog was overcooked and became a pretty greasy mess. Blue Ribbon Corn Dog I know corn dogs aren’t a healthy food, but mine was left in the fryer a bit too long and soaked up a good amount of oil. Not only that, but while I thought the panko would help make the dog crunchy, it actually just turned into tiny little shards of violence that cut up the roof of my mouth. I’ve never really met a corn dog I didn’t like, but this one came pretty close. Playing — The absolute bangers that play when the torches come on before fireworks Is there anything better than EPCOT at night when the sun goes down and the torches around World Showcase come on? Not only do the torches create a whole vibe, but the soundtrack that plays before the Luminous The Symphony of Us fireworks show starts is full of absolute banger tracks. Spaceship Earth Actually, this isn’t even exclusive to Luminous — both the pre-show soundtracks for both the Harmonious and Illuminations fireworks shows were pretty stellar, too. If you spot a short brunette with a margarita in her hand dancing to the music… it’s definitely (probably) not me. Obsessing — over the Reuben Croquettes at Festival Favorites If the Reuben Croquettes at Festival Favorites over at CommuniCore Hall have zero fans, it means I’m dead. These little pockets of joy came back around during the 2024 Festival of the Holidays, and to my absolute surprise and delight, they were still around when I visited EPCOT recently! They’re a potato croquette made with pastrami, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese with a thousand island dipping sauce. Reuben Croquettes I first tried them during the Festival of the Holidays and they were easily one of the best things I had at the festival, so when I saw they were still around I had to get them again. The pastrami, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese are perfectly balanced and when they’re wrapped up into a mashed potato ball and fried, well, I’m pretty sure that’s the closest I’ll ever get to having all my dreams come true. Recommending– Shiki-Sai Sushi Izakaya during fireworks For my birthday dinner, I wanted to finally check out Shiki-Sai Sushi Izakaya in the Japan Pavilion. This is the newest EPCOT restaurant and one that has been on my list to try for a while — and I’m SO glad I did. I timed my reservation so that I’d still be in the restaurant during the fireworks and it may be one of my favorite Disney World experiences I’ve had in a while. Kara-Age Chicken The menu here is primarily small plates and sushi, so we got an assortment — the Bluefin Chu-Toro Nigiri, the Grilled Wagyu Gyoza, the Kara-Age Chicken, and the Beef Yaki-Udon. Each dish was excellent in both quality and preparation, and the service we received was unmatched. Plus, ending my birthday with fireworks was a pretty sweet deal. Treating — myself to a little something because I deserve it “It’s my birthday and I’ll buy myself something if I want to,” said me to me when I spotted this Winnie the Pooh sweater in the UK Pavilion. But actually, shout out to my mother-in-law who ended up buying it for me instead! I’ve been eyeing this sweatshirt ever since I saw it roll out online but couldn’t justify it until I saw it after having multiple margaritas from La Cava del Tequila. Pooh Sweatshirt It was a short trip, but even the shortest trip to Disney World typically ends up being one for the books! 18. The Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom serves up the best treats to satisfy your sweet tooth! Main Street Confectionery You’ll find caramel apples, frozen Glacier drinks, and many other fun snacks. There are a lot of sweets (and savory snacks) to try at this shop. Plus, if you’re a lover of popcorn, you can create your own popcorn mix or try one of their seasonal mixes at the Kernel Kitchen inside the Confectionery. We recently stopped by for a snack and happened to notice a new popcorn mix being offered! So of course, we had to try it. Currently, at the Main Street Confectionery, you can try either the Valentine’s mix (which is the same as it was last year) or the NEW S’mores mix! Since we have previously tried the Valentine’s mix, we decided to try out the S’mores mix. This popcorn mix is a combination of caramel popcorn, milk chocolate M&Ms, marshmallows, crushed graham crackers, and a drizzle of chocolate on top. S’mores Popcorn Mix For $16.99 you get a tub of the popcorn mix that’s easily shared between 2 or more people. The chocolate drizzle hardens which made it a little hard to dig into at first. However, we were able to crack it apart by pushing on the sides of the container. Once it’s broken apart it creates a yummy candied popcorn bark on top! This is a yummy popcorn mix! You can get the full effect of eating s’mores when you have a piece of every item in your bite. While it’s not hot and gooey like s’mores are, you still get the feeling of sitting around a campfire eating a tasty s’more! Of course, getting a bite of every piece individually is good, it’s even better when you grab a handful of it all together. It’s like eating s’mores around a campfire We always enjoy grabbing these popcorn mixes at the Main Street Confectionery! This was a delicious combination of flavors, and we suggest giving it a try. 21. Construction walls have officially gone up in DinoLand U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom. The first construction walls are up The first round of closures started on January 13th, 2025 to make way for the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The closures consisted of TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and the Fossil Fun games. We can’t believe the time has finally come to say goodbye. Three major parts of DinoLand U.S.A. operated for the last time yesterday. Today, January 13th, 2025, we spotted the first construction walls up as the land begins to change. Construction walls around Fossil Fun games. DinoLand U.S.A. has been a staple in Animal Kingdom since the park opened in 1998. The story of the land is that an amateur fossil hunter discovered authentic dinosaur bones in this small town which led to many scientists and archeologists moving to continue the search for more bones. Many plants walls! Once the land began to grow, Chester and Hester, two locals, decided to cash in on all of the new residents by opening their own carnival and roadside games. More walls around TriceraTop Spin TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun games were the first to go from this land with Dinosaur, Restaurantosaurs, and the snack stands following later this year or early next year. The exit of Dinosaur. While we are excited about the changes, we won’t deny that this made us pretty sad today. Disney had a good reminder for us posted on some of the construction walls. On one of the walls, you can read, “Change is good” with Rafiki on top. Change is good. In all honesty, this made us shed a few tears because change is good but also hard sometimes. More construction Inside the new land, you can expect to find the new Indiana Jones attraction, an Encanto attraction, a new carousel, food stops, and more. Disney has released several pieces of concept art to give us an idea of what to expect inside the new land. @Disney So today we will check out these huge changes while mourning what’s gone and enjoying Dinosaur while it’s still around. Magic Kingdom saw another ride closure as Astro Orbiter closed for a lengthy refurbishment. The ride joins Big Thunder Mountain in closing. Disney hasn’t given a specific opening date for Astro Orbiter, but they have mentioned it will reopen sometime in the summer of 2025. You won’t be able to ride Astro Orbiter for a few months There are currently construction walls up around the ride that you’ll notice if you ride the PeopleMover. 24. Sometimes you can’t just walk up to a Disney World attraction and get in the queue. Virtual Queue sign up If a Disney ride has gone down and the queue has needed to be evacuated, you won’t be able to stand in line to wait (though you can stand around the ride if you’d like, but we don’t recommend that if the Cast Members are hinting that the ride could be down for awhile). However, there are a handful of Disney World rides that have what are called Virtual Queues, and you must enter one of those to be able to ride. If you’re heading to the parks this year and haven’t been in a while, these are the only rides we expect to continue using Virtual Queues this year. First, let’s review what a Virtual Queue is. A Virtual Queue can be entered at 7 AM or 1 PM via the My Disney Experience App as long as you have a valid ticket, or park pass reservation for that park. Availability often runs out in seconds, sometimes even a single second on extra busy days, so it’s important to be right on the dot. Virtual Queue Once you’ve been told you’re in the Virtual Queue, you’ll be given a boarding group and an estimated time your group will be called. If you’ve gotten an early group, sometimes they’re called before the park is even open, but other times, you could wait hours for your group to be called. Once you get the push notification from the app that your group has been called, you have one hour to return to the ride and get in the actual line (which is much shorter than what the line would be WITHOUT the Virtual Queue) — it’s essentially just a way for Disney to pace how many people are heading to the attraction at one time. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure At the time of writing, the only two attractions in Disney World that use Virtual Queues are Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is also included as part of Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which reservations can fill up fast for. However, if individuals are able to get a spot in the Virtual Queue for the ride, they’ll often forgo their Lightning Lane reservation, so be sure to check for new availability right after 7AM! Cosmic Rewind, on the other hand, can be bought individually as part of Lightning Lane Single Pass but is not part of Multi Pass. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind We aren’t anticipating any new rides other than the revised version of Test Track to open in 2025, and as there’s already a Virtual Queue in that park, we don’t anticipate Test Track having one when it reopens. We’ll be sure to keep you updated though, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB! 4 Rules You Need To Know Before You Use Virtual Queues in Disney World Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox!
