Okay, so you’ve done the BIG planning stuff for your Disney World trip. You’ve figured out where to stay, what tickets to get, and where you want to eat. But a big question still remains: how will you get there? Orlando International Airport For many of us, the answer is that we’ll fly to Orlando International Airport to get to Disney World. Well, if you live in or near Boise or Sacramento, you have two NEW nonstop flights on Alaska Airlines to get to Orlando International Airport — which you may know is the airport closest to Disney World. SCORE! Orlando International Airport just announced that Alaska Airlines has launched two nonstop routes from Boise, Idaho, and Sacramento, California. So if you fly out of those airports, you have a new option for getting to Orlando. Trust us…those nonstop flights are SO much better than having to connect at another airport, which can be stressful. And who wants to be stressed out on their Disney World vacation? ©Alaska Airlines Of course, once you get to Orlando International Airport, you still need to figure out how to get from there TO Disney World (yep, there’s always that extra step). It’s pretty easy, though, and you have a few different options. You can take a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft or you can even rent a car (which is a good option if you plan on visiting places outside of Disney World). You can also use a shared shuttle service like Mears Connect. Mears Connect Once you get to Disney World, getting around is even easier: Disney has a vast and FREE transportation system of buses, the Monorail, boats, and the Skyliner. Disney has scrapped its plans for a bundled sports streaming service. Venu Sports On Friday, Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery announced that they are scrapping their plans for a bundled sports streamer, citing a need to “meet the evolving demands of sports fans by focusing on existing products and distribution channels.” The now-canceled service was initially planned to show all their game telecasts and studio programs. On February 6th, 2024, Disney announced that ESPN would merge with Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery to make a joint streaming platform for sports assets. Initially, the service was set to launch in the fall of 2024, however, it hit a major snag when a federal judge blocked the plans weeks before the planned debut due to antitrust concerns raised by FuboTV. ©Disney In the complaint, Fubo, a smaller streaming service that relies heavily on sports content, claimed Venu would “substantially lessen competition and restrain trade.” This appeared to have been resolved earlier this week when Fubo dropped its Venu suit after Disney agreed to buy a 70% stake in the company. However, while this resolved the related legal concerns, it also changed the business environment for Disney — Disney will soon have a portfolio of sports products available, and the company likely didn’t see the need for Venu anymore. ©Fubo Disney’s ESPN is expected to launch a stand-alone streamer, internally known as “Flagship,” later this year. In addition, some ESPN programming is available on Disney+, and the company also offers an ESPN+ broadband product. According to a source, “Flagship” is currently the top priority among Disney’s sports streaming initiatives. ©Disney Had Venu continued to move forward, it may have faced additional legal hurdles, as satellite operators DISH and DirecTV had also sent a letter of complaint to the court that had jurisdiction of the Fubo case prior to Disney’s announcement that it was scrapping plans for Venu. We’ll continue to be on the lookout for more Disney entertainment news, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates. While we had to say goodbye to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for at least a year as it closes for refurbishment, and Astro Orbiter and the Hall of Presidents will also be closing later this month, it isn’t all bad news coming out of Magic Kingdom. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed With the holidays being over, Lightning Lane prices have started to decrease and the Main Street Barkery debuted some new Starbucks menu items. But there is even more good news that we wanted to share! Some of the best news to come out of Magic Kingdom this month is that on select evenings, you can watch not one but TWO fireworks shows! And the best part? They are two different fireworks shows! Disney After Hours has officially returned to Magic Kingdom in 2025, and on event nights, Magic Kingdom will be showing BOTH the Happily Ever After fireworks and the Disney Enchantment fireworks. Disney Enchantment Fireworks Day guests can view the Happily Ever After fireworks, and then the Disney Enchantment fireworks will take place during the Disney After Hours Event. Disney After Hours are limited-capacity events that allow attendees to enjoy the theme parks with fewer crowds. In addition to Magic Kingdom, there are After Hours events at EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The event will allow you to enjoy shorter wait times, complimentary snacks, and the option to shop and dine at select locations. After Hours at Magic Kingdom On nights with After Hours at Magic Kingdom, the park will show two different fireworks shows. This is perfect for anyone who can’t make it out to Disney a lot, or haven’t seen the Disney Enchantment fireworks show. Happily Ever After is Magic Kingdom’s current fireworks show. The Disney Enchantment fireworks show debuted for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. Now, they can only be seen as an exclusive offering, and one of these times is during Disney After Hours. While the Disney Enchantment show isn’t our favorite show, it is still beautiful and lots of fun! Disney Enchantment Fireworks If you are attending After Hours at Magic Kingdom, you can arrive at the park as early as 7 PM, with the event officially kicking off at 10 PM. The event lasts until 1 AM, so you can get up to 6 hours in Magic Kingdom with your event ticket. If you arrive at 7 PM, you may be able to catch Happily Ever After AND Disney Enchantment all in one evening. After Hours at Magic Kingdom Even better, you don’t need to purchase an event ticket to enjoy the fireworks shows! You can also view the Magic Kingdom fireworks from surrounding hotels including great views from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. You can also see the fireworks from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, but they don’t have as good of a view. We highly recommend making a dinner reservation at one of these hotels or utilizing Disney Transportation to get to the hotel. Disney Enchantment Fireworks If you want all of our best tips for making the most out of Magic Kingdom, make sure you check out our ultimate guide to Magic Kingdom in 2025: We are so excited that you can see two fireworks shows in Magic Kingdom on select nights. Disney Cruise Line continues to grow and expand. Disney Wish We absolutely love the Disney Wish when it first set sail in 2022. We also recently got to set sail on Disney Cruise Line’s LATEST ship, the Disney Treasure, while we’re waiting on the Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure to take their first cruises later this year. However, Disney Cruise Line recently announced four MORE new ships were coming to its fleet, and now we have NEW details about those ships: we know how big they’ll be. According to Sea Trade Cruise News, one of the new ships will be a Wish-class ship, but the other three will have slightly smaller designs, which will give them access to more ports as well as support more of Disney’s environmental goals. This is the first time we’ve learned more about Disney’s plans for the four new ships in its fleet. Aladdin and Jasmine on the Disney Treasure The largest of the four, the Wish-class ship, will be the fourth in its class and will have a capacity for 4,000 passengers. It’s expected to take its maiden voyage in 2027. The other three ships will set sail in 2029, 2030, and 2031, and will have enough capacity for 3,000 passengers. Disney Treasure! The three smaller ships will be able to run on a variety of fuels and will be among the lightest cruise ships of their size, which will save fuel and make the ships more energy-efficient. They’ll also have a battery system to support the main engines. At port, they’ll be able to shut down their engines and use “shore power.” Disney stressed the importance of creating a variety of experiences for its passengers. The smaller ships will allow Disney to go to a “broad range of destinations, including those that prefer to host smaller ships.” Atrium of Disney treasure Meanwhile, the Disney Destiny will first set sail on November 20th, 2025 from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, while the Disney Adventure departs for its maiden voyage on December 15th, 2025 from Singapore. The additional four ships will increase Disney Cruise Line’s fleet to 13 ships total. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 2025 will be a year full of changes at Disney World. Cinderella Castle While many changes have already been announced by Disney, including permanent closures, ride refurbishments, and new offerings, Disney Adults are holding out and hoping that even more changes will be announced for Disney World this year. Bring Back Resort Delivery One perk of staying at a Disney World hotel is that you could send your merchandise that you bought in the park back to your hotel. This was a great benefit as you would not have to worry about carrying larger purchases in the park with you. Sadly, this perk is no longer. If you do not want to carry your merchandise with you, you can either rent a locker or ship it home. We hope that Disney brings this back, as it would add even more value to staying at a Disney World hotel. Disney World locker rentals Later Hours for Animal Kingdom Typically, Animal Kingdom is the park that closes the earliest. It is a shame that the park tends to close before it is dark out, as Animal Kingdom is beautiful at night, especially in Pandora. Animal Kingdom at night While Animal Kingdom has been open for Extended Evening Hours along with After Hours events, these are not available to everyone. Maybe 2025 will be the year Animal Kingdom has longer park operating hours! Pandora at night More Places to Sit During EPCOT Festivals EPCOT is home to an array of rotating festivals. During these festivals, you can stop at different food booths all around the park. While trashcan picnics have become common during the festivals, many of you wished that EPCOT would offer more places to sit, especially when there is a festival going on. EPCOT Festival of the Arts We totally understand the struggle of trying to find somewhere to enjoy all your yummy food! While there are standing tables, it would be nice to have a place to rest our feet while we sample the menus at the different booths. And CommuniCore Hall also has additional seating for festivals now, which is a nice addition! EPCOT Food and Wine Festival There you have it, the six things that Disney Adults hope happen in Disney World this year. We are right there with our readers, and we hope that Disney hears our plea to bring back some of these offerings once again! There’s no way of putting this gently: Disney World is going to be a bit of a mess this year and probably next year, too. Animal Kingdom That’s because a TON of new construction projects are happening in three out of Disney World’s four parks, meaning you’re going to see construction walls and detours EVERYWHERE (it’s like the EPCOT transformation times three). Magic Kingdom is getting an expansion AND a new land. Hollywood Studios is getting a new land. Animal Kingdom will also be getting a new land, resulting in construction walls and closures. Well, we’ve now got some maps to give you an idea of what Animal Kingdom will look like over the next few years. Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand, U.S.A. will be going away to be replaced by Pueblo Esperanza, which will bring a Tropical Americas theme plus new rides to the area. The land will be closed off in phases, starting with TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures on January 13th, when the first construction walls will go up. It seems like Dinosaur might be the LAST thing to close, as Disney has promised it will remain open through 2025 so folks can get a last chance to ride it. Dinosaur We drew up some maps to give you an idea of what Animal Kingdom will look like during this process. The first map is where we think construction walls will appear during the first round of closures that we previously mentioned. First round of closures We’ve also zoomed out on this map so you can see that the trail from Dinosaur to Chester & Hester’s is blocked. Okay, we’re not 100% sure this is how Disney will put up the construction walls, but this is our best guess given what we currently know about these phased closures. Zoomed out map We also have a map estimating where construction walls will go up once the entire land is closed. We have to say this could mean a lot less to do in Animal Kingdom, so during the construction, this entire area will be unavailable. Construction walls around all of DinoLand You might wonder if that means that there will be a lot less to do in Animal Kingdom, essentially turning it into a half-day park. Well, possibly, depending on your priorities. However, there is SO much to do in Animal Kingdom, including a ton of non-ride activities that you might just want to check out some things in the park you’ve never done before, like spending time petting animals, learning to draw Disney characters, and checking out some of the park’s shows like Feathered Friends in Flight. Feathered Friends in Flight Keep in mind, though, that It’s Tough To Be A Bug is also scheduled to close soon to make way for Zootopia: Better Zoogether, so that will be yet another closure to deal with in Animal Kingdom. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 3 Game-Changing Updates Announced for Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2025 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! Is anyone else craving something sweet? Disney Springs There are so many snacks around Disney World; it can be hard to choose between them. From the best snacks to the worst sacks, we’ve tried them all! This week, we stopped by Disney Springs to put another sweet treat to the test. Have you ever heard of DOLE Whip? Maybe you have, maybe you haven’t, but it’s pretty famous here in Disney World. The classic flavor is pineapple, but there are several variations that you can find scattered around Disney World. One of the spots where you can have this cold treat is Swirls on the Water in Disney Springs! Swirls on the Water! Swirls on the Water is a walk-up snack stand on the Marketplace side of Springs that serves up the famous soft serve in many different forms. One of our favorite things about this spot is its seasonal offerings, and this week, we tried two new ones! The first was the Valentine Cone. The menu This treat was made up of DOLE whip strawberry swirled with soft serve chocolate in a pink vanilla waffle cone with valentine sprinkles and a white sugar rose for $6.49. We’re basically ready to fall in love just looking at it. How pretty! This cone reminded us of a chocolate-covered strawberry! The soft serve was super tasty, but the cone didn’t have a ton of flavor, even though it was still nice to look at. A closer look. It was a classic that we enjoyed and would happily get again. For our second treat, we grabbed the DOLE Whip Margarita Float for $17.50! Dole Whip Margarita Float This one was really reminiscent of the ones we’ve had in the past, but that isn’t us complaining! It was made of DOLE whip raspberry swirled with DOLE whip lime, patron silver tequila lime margarita, a lime wedge, and raspberry crispies. They were out of the lime DOLE whip, but we still really loved this! How yummy does this look? It was sweet with a subtle tartness, which added a great balance to the margarita. The raspberry crisps were delicious as well. We had anticipated that these crisps would be similar to raspberry-flavored Rice Krispie Treats, but these were freeze-dried raspberry bites. A scoop! It’s pretty pricey for this margarita, but thanks to the amount of tequila and DOLE whip in this drink, it doesn’t feel like we paid too much. Overall, both of these treats were great to celebrate the season of love and we would get both again. Don’t forget to keep following DFB for your Disney snack recommendations! Disney Cruise Line is a fantastic choice of vacation for people who aren’t as big on the hustle and bustle of a regular Disney Parks day. Disney Treasure! Suppose you’d rather trade in running around the parks, booking Lightning Lanes, trying to make dining reservations, and potentially stressing about getting from one place to another for relaxing next to the pool all day, exploring Castaway Cay or Lighthouse Point, dining on whatever you’d like whenever you’d like, and knowing your kids can have a great (and safe!) time at the kids’ clubs. In that case, a Disney Cruise Line vacation would be perfect for you! However, we have to admit that there are a few downsides to cruising at times, and this reason right here is why we can’t have nice things. One of the lounges on Disney Cruise Line’s latest ship is the Scat Cat Lounge. This swanky, snazzy lounge is themed around the 1970s classic film The Aristocats. You’ll find that theming reflected through small details like a door handle modeled after Scat Cat’s “signature instrument” at the entrance and hidden depictions of Roquefort, “the devoted mouse companion of Duchess and her kittens.” Welcome to Scat Cat Lounge! While there are many different drinks you can grab at this lounge, only one of them will get you a souvenir cup to take home. The catch? The drink, the Cat’s Meow, costs you $130! Yes, that includes the cup you get to take home, but we found ourselves asking WHY this drink was so expensive. Cat’s Meow The Cat’s Meow is made with Angel’s Envy, Amaro Montenegro, Apero, and Lemon and is served in the embossed cat glass (which is a little creepy, we won’t lie, but hey, it’s still cool). The reason it’s so expensive though is due to an unfortunate reason — stealing. Fancy seating at Scat Cat Lounge On other Disney Cruise Line ships, such as the Disney Wish, you’ll find a lounge called Nightingale’s. The signature cocktail at this lounge is called the Sweet Nightingale for $20. It’s made with Hendricks Amazonia, Passion Fruit, Rosemary, and Mint, but the real draw here is that it’s served in an adorable dainty glass that looks like a bird! Signature Cocktail, the Sweet Nightingale The problem? Well, people like the glass so much that they’ve started STEALING it from the restaurant! Since the ship can’t go around searching everyone’s luggage to find the missing glasses or watch back every single security tape to find who took it, they’ve decided to make the specialty drink on the Treasure served in a cool glass so expensive so that the glass is included in the price. The glass You may be asking, “why don’t they just offer one price with the glass and one without?” Unfortunately, there are people out there who will pay the cheaper price and then find a way to steal the glass anyway, so Disney figured they’d stop all potentiality of stealing and just include the price of the glass in the overall total. Is it it just us or does food just taste better when it’s Mickey-shaped? Mint Julep Bar!! Like we know there are better pretzels out there than Mickey pretzels, but we will ALWAYS get a Mickey pretzel because it makes us happy. Mickey bars are pretty simple, but they can sometimes be the BEST snack ever on a hot day. Then there’s the Mickey Beignet, which is something we’re ALWAYS going to order, no matter what, ESPECIALLY in Disneyland. However, Mickey Beignets just got an upgrade and, dare we say, we think they might now be even BETTER? Okay, so we’re headed to the Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland, where we go every time we visit Disneyland to grab some classic Mickey beignets. But NOW, you can get Chocolate Hazelnut-flavored Mickey-shaped Beignets dusted with Chocolate-Hazelnut Sugar. A 3-pack will cost $6.49, while a 6-pack will run you $10.49. You can also get Chocolate-Hazelnut Dipping Sauce for $1.39. Chocolate Hazelnut Mickey Beignet So here’s the thing, if you love Nutella, this could be the perfect treat for you. Granted, the chocolate and hazelnut flavors are pretty light because the flavor comes mostly from the powdered sugar. But if you want the WHOLE chocolate and hazelnut experience, you’ll want to dump them in the dipping sauce, which pretty much tastes just like Nutella. It’s rich, creamy, and chocolatey, with that hazelnut aftertaste. YES. Get the dipping sauce! So our recommendation is that if you’re a Nutella fan, make sure to get these beignets WITH the dipping sauce — you can thank us later. However, don’t fret if you just want the standard Mickey Beignets — they’re still available here, too. Also, be sure to order a Mint Julep to pair with those beignets — SO good. It’s almost time — are you ready? We’re talking about the EPCOT Festival of the Arts, which starts SOON! 2024 Festival of the Arts The festival will run from January 17th through February 24th and will bring a whole artsy vibe to ALL of EPCOT. There will be lots of unique food served at the festival’s many food booths, a Disney on Broadway concert series, chalk art, art performances, and SO much more. However, you might want to know a little bit more about some of the souvenirs you’ll be able to bring home from the festival, so let’s talk about the most IMPORTANT merchandise of this festival: the art! We had the opportunity to speak with Aaron Babcock, Merchandise Manager for The Walt Disney Company, who gave us some insight into what kind of artwork would be coming to this year’s festival. Disney is bringing in 36 artists this year, most of them returning from previous years, although two are new to the festival. Babcock said, “This year, we’ve asked for a little bit more of a focus on some Park elements into the art because the guest are here at Disney, so we want to make sure that they have something that’s a little bit more unique to their experience.” Artwork from the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts This year will include 114 new pieces with 43 Disney movies and TV shows represented, including Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar. Over 240 characters are represented in the art, as well as 36 different Park rides. “So as you can see, we have a pretty broad diverse base to work with that we think should capture all of our guests’ imaginations and their precious character, attraction, and all those memories that they have, which is what we always strive to do,” Babcock said. Artwork at 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts Perhaps the most exciting thing he mentioned, though, was the inclusion of a new The Nightmare Before Christmas piece by artist Darren Wilson. This will be the first time in around 15 years that this film has been included in the EPCOT Festival of the Arts. Babcock said, “I do think there are a couple pieces that are going to be very, very popular. One is The Nightmare Before Christmas piece because we have not had one for so long, and it is such a popular film, and Darren is one of our more popular artists. So we think that piece will be very successful.” More artwork from 2024 However, Moana 2 fans also have something to look forward to at this year’s festival. Josey Tsao created a Moana piece before the new movie came out, but it turned out to be a perfect representation of the sequel. The art features Moana in her boat with her ancestors behind her in their boats “But she didn’t know the movie,” Babcock said,” so I don’t know how she did this, but I think because there’s the emotional tie of that, and the story behind it and the general feeling about the film in the country right now, I think that’s going to also be another very popular piece.” Festival Artwork for sale in 2024 But wait, there’s more. Because if you want to get up in your EPCOT nostalgia feels, you’ll want to grab the EPCOT Festival of the Arts poster. The poster, by artist Rob Kaz, features Figment flying over EPCOT, and in the distance, you’ll see World Showcase, and you discover that Figment is chasing Dreamfinder’s ship. “It’s very nostalgic,” Babcock said. “He [Kaz] has a large following, and the piece is one of those quintessential EPCOT pieces that you go, ‘Okay, I instantly recognize that, and that is what it is.'” Acme Archives booth at the 2024 festival So, how does Disney work with these artists to create the next masterpieces that will grace your living room walls? Well, it’s a process. Disney tells each artist to submit about eight concept ideas for their pieces. Then they go through and make sure that they don’t have too many of one thing or not enough of another thing to maintain balance with character, film, and attraction representation. The art is one of the best parts of the festival! “It’s not something that we’re directing them to do, or we’re saying, ‘Hey, you must paint this because we know it,'” Babcock said, stating that Disney wants artists to be passionate about their pieces. “We say, ‘Okay, we would recommend if you’re doing this piece, maybe simplify the character so that the character is the hero, or maybe move the character more to the background and let the castle be the hero. But the bulk of it is really their work. We go through it and we vet it to make sure that we’re in line with all the corporate brands, that we’re in line with storytelling, you know.” Beau Hufford at 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts If you can’t make it to this year’s festival, though, don’t fret. You’ll be able to find some of the pieces around Disney Parks later in the year, including Disneyland. If you’re looking forward to seeing this year’s fantastic art pieces, you’ll want to make sure to stop by the EPCOT Festival of the Arts to check it out! If you plan to stay at a Disney World hotel in 2025, you will want to consider getting a Disney Refillable Mug. These mugs can be purchased for the length of your stay and allow you to take advantage of UNLIMITED refills on fountain drinks, coffee, and tea from participating beverage locations at the Disney World hotels. Disney Refillable Mugs Whether you are looking for a caffeine boost in the morning or a refreshing drink after a long day at the parks, having a Disney Refillable Mug makes it easy to grab a drink at your hotel. However, as you are deciding whether you want to purchase a Disney Refillable Mug, you will want to know about these rules that Disney will be enforcing in 2025. Disney Refillable Mugs can be purchased by hotel guests for free refills throughout their vacation! The refillable mugs are 16 oz insulated mugs that can be purchased or come with your Dining Plan at the Disney World hotels at the resort’s primary counter service location. But what are some of the rules you will want to know before you make the purchase? Here are seven rules that you need to know! Valid for the Length of Your Stay (Up to 14 Days) When you purchase your mug, it will be valid for the length of your stay, up to 14 days. The refillable mugs currently cost $22.99, which gives you unlimited refills during your stay for that one price. No need to pay for each day of your stay; one purchase will do the trick for up to 14 days. Resort Refillable Mug There Are Certain Beverages You Can’t Fill Them With While you can fill your mugs with almost any drink available at the quick service locations, there are a few exceptions. You won’t be able to fill your mug with milk, real fruit juice, or alcohol. Just something to be aware of before you purchase a refillable mug. We don’t want you to be looking forward to a cold glass of milk each morning only to find out you can’t actually get milk in your refillable mug. However, fountain drinks, coffee, and tea are all available for your mug! Drink Station at Caribbean Beach Resort’s Banana Cabana Pool Bar You Must Wait Between Refills We know, we know, we said they were unlimited refills. But, here’s the thing, they are pretty much limitless, BUT you do need to wait in between refills. Not a long time, though, just 2 minutes in between refills. While we know there may be times when you can chug a whole mug in less than two minutes, we have a feeling this restriction won’t affect you too much. The only time we usually notice it is when we accidentally fill up with the wrong thing or don’t fill our mug all the way up. And waiting for two minutes is definitely doable. So fill up your mug to your heart’s content (as long as you wait two minutes in between each refill)! Refill Station at Pop Century Can’t Be Refilled in the Parks This is a HUGE one. Refillable mugs can ONLY be refilled at the Disney World hotels; they can’t be refilled in the Disney parks. You won’t be able to bring your mug to Magic Kingdom and get it refilled at a quick-service restaurant; it can only be refilled at a hotel. We want to make sure this is super clear because we don’t want you to be disappointed by trying to fill it up in Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You can bring the mugs with you to the parks, but you won’t be able to get them refilled. Refillable Mug You Can Fill Up at Any Disney World Hotel While they are only refillable at Disney World hotels, you can refill them at ANY Disney World hotel. It doesn’t matter if you are staying at the hotel or not. That means you can bring your mug with you to resort hop and fill up at the hotels as you are exploring. Or, if you are dining at a different hotel, you can bring your mug along for a post or pre-meal drink. As long as your mug is active, you can refill it at an Disney World hotel refill station. Refillable Resort Mugs The Water Parks Have Their Own Refillable Mug Alright, we are going to add a bit of confusion here. While the Disney World theme parks do not offer any sort of refillable mug, the Disney water parks DO offer a refillable mug. You can grab a refillable mug at Disney’s Blizzard Beach or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. However, it differs from the one you purchase at the hotels, and the water park refillable mug only works at the water parks. As well, your hotel refillable mug only works at hotels and will not work at the water parks. Water Park Refillable Mug Yak and Yeti Used To Offer a Refillable Tumbler And if you aren’t already confused enough, we have one more layer of confusion to add. There currently isn’t anywhere in the Disney World theme parks to get a refillable mug, but Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes used to offer a refillable mug. The mug had a Yak & Yeti design and could be refilled for free all day, but only at Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes. However, it became an issue that people were trying to get it refilled in other places in the park, so they ended up not making it refillable anymore. You can still purchase the tumbler, but you won’t be able to take advantage of free refills. Yak & Yeti Tumbler Now that you know all the rules about refillable mugs, you need to decide which hotel to stay at! Trying to decide what the best hotel is for your family? We’ve got you covered with a whole video dedicated to the BEST Disney World hotels in 2025: Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World news! Picture this: you’re visiting Magic Kingdom in Disney World and you’re trying to get through big crowds just to make it in time for your advance dining reservation or next Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection. Magic Kingdom You could just take your chances and carefully make your way around all those people and take the long way around. OR…you can take a shortcut. Wait…you might ask, are there actually shortcuts IN Magic Kingdom? Well, the answer is YES! And we’re going to share some of our favorite Magic Kingdom shortcuts — with maps — because we want you to be able to navigate Magic Kingdom like a pro. Okay, the first shortcut is one that pretty much everyone learns the first time they visit Disney World, but just in case, we’ll mention it. To bypass busy crowds on Main Street, U.S.A. (especially during parades and fireworks), you can just cut through the Emporium. You’ll then continue through all the shops right until you get to Casey’s Corner. This is also a great way to exit the park because it will take you to the very front of Main Street, U.S.A. There’s just one big danger of doing this: you might get distracted by all the merchandise (hey, it happens to us, too). So if you walk out with a few extra shopping bags… Through The Emporium! Okay, let’s say you’re trying to get to Tomorrowland quickly from Main Street, U.S.A. You do NOT have to walk all the way down Main Street to the hub in front of Cinderella Castle. Instead, take a right at Plaza Restaurant and keep walking until you walk through Tomorrowland Terrace. You’ll find a pathway that takes you through this restaurant that’s only open for Happily Ever After fireworks dessert parties and just past the purple wall, putting you right at the front of Tomorrowland. Through Tomorrowland Terrace Want to get between Tomorrowland and Storybook Circus quickly? You can enter either by The Barnstormer or by Tron Lightcycle / Run and walk easily between the two areas. Bonus? This area is usually pretty chill and quiet, so if you’re looking to get away from people for a bit, it’s perfect. It’s also the BEST way to get to Tomorrowland from the Fantasyland Train Station. From Tomorrowland to Storybook Circus Another really great shortcut is taking the small bridge at the front of Adventureland (near where you’ll find the Spring Roll Cart) to Liberty Square — it will take you to the back of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe. This is one to keep in mind when you need to avoid parade crowds plus you’ll end up at a quiet area WITH SEATING in Liberty Square. From Adventureland Liberty Square! We’ve even got TWO shortcuts that can get you from Frontierland to Adventureland (and back again). One path is next to Aloha Isle and Frontier Trading Post. You’ll find the second between The Diamond Horseshoe and Skipper Canteen. The second pathway has a bathroom, too, just in case you need to go. From Adventureland to Frontierland Okay, our final shortcut is one that might not be around much longer, given that the area will soon be busy with construction thanks to the new Cars expansion coming to Frontierland. However, there’s a raised sidewalk on the bank of the Rivers of America (which will be going away soon) that can take you around a large portion of Frontierland, especially if you njeed to get away parade crowds. This one is also scenic, and we’ll miss that view when it goes away. Along Rivers of America With these maps, you, too, can make your way around Magic Kingdom quickly and efficiently. We’ll continue to share our best Disney tips and tricks with you, so stay tuned to DFB for more. There is so much to celebrate in Disney World in 2025! Magic Kingdom! When you start planning your ultimate trip to Disney World, it’s important to know what’s changing each year! In 2025, we’re getting new shows, new parades, and so much more. Another thing we’re celebrating this year is 50 years of rocketing off to the stars on Space Mountain, and we think Disney might be celebrating, too. This month on January 15th, 2025, Space Mountain turns 50 years old! We can’t believe our favorite rocketship roller coaster has been with us for so many years and it is still so high on our list of must-dos. This rollercoaster was the first major expansion to Disney World when it was decided there weren’t enough thrill rides in the Orlando theme park. Space Mountain When the ride first opened, Disney had actual astronauts test the ride before it opened to the public so guests would know this was a true thrill experience. The ride was originally meant for Disneyland before it was determined there wasn’t enough space (get it, space? Okay, sorry, moving on.) for the attraction, so it was decided it would be sent off for Disney World! ©D23 To this day, the high-flying adventure gets hours-long wait times and has become a staple in many Disney Parks around the world, including Disneyland. We are ready to celebrate our love for this ride that offers thrills and free chiropractor visits, and it seems so is Disney! This week, we spotted some filming by the iconic attraction, and we can’t help but wonder if this is to celebrate the ride’s big milestone. Filming by Space Mountain We often spot filming around the Disney parks for things like the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade or even shows like American Idol. Eventually, the camera crew made their way to the back of the attraction towards TRON where you can get a great view of the famous white building. Filming behind Space Mountain While we can’t be sure this is what the filming was for, one can dream it’s to celebrate Space Mountain’s big day. It’s not every day you turn 50, you know? So here’s a happy early birthday to you, Space Mountain. Thank you for so many laughs, screams, and back cracks over the last 50 years, and here’s to 50 more! Lasagna, Supernova Shakes, and a specialty sandwich menu,” celebrity Chef Guy Fieri once again stands out with a notable restaurant offering. Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant Celebrity Chef Kevin Dundon created Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant in Disney Springs, and it’s a must-visit in our book! Raglan Road This authentic Irish pub had its bars and furniture actually built in Ireland and offers live Irish music and dancing in addition to some pretty terrific food. Raglan Road has a contemporary Irish menu, and we definitely recommend trying traditional items like bangers and mash, shepherd’s pie, and bread pudding, as well as the creamy colcannon soup, beef stew with a hint of Guinness, and fish ‘n’ chips! Our goal is to make eating vegan and gluten-free fun and delicious.” This is a message we can definitely get behind! The Cake Bake Shop Finally, The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers isn’t quite like the other restaurants on our list, as Gwendolyn Rogers isn’t a celebrity chef but instead a film producer and actress. Sure, it’s January, but that doesn’t mean we’re not thinking ahead to spooky season in Disney World. Halloween in Magic Kingdom After all, it’s the next BIG holiday that gets a huge celebration in the parks, including fun decor (We love those Mickey pumpkin wreaths!) and an After Hours party, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (which is SO much fun). So we’re curious about when the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will happen this year…but y’all, we think Disney just dropped a MAJOR hint. So Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party usually starts sometime in August and then ends on Halloween (or sometimes, a day or two after). Yep, the Halloween season lasts a whole three months in Disney World (and we LOVE THAT). So we found something curious that we think could give us an indication of the exact date Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will start this year. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a character dining experience for lunch and dinner at Hollywood & Vine gets a Halloween makeover called Minnie’s Halloween Dine. Disney recently revealed the first date for Minnie’s Halloween Dine: August 9th. Minnie’s Halloween Dine Well, last year, the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party happened on the first date of Minnie’s Halloween Dine, so we believe that the first date for Minnie’s Halloween Dine in 2025 could also be the first date of the party. Therefore, it’s likely Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will start on or around August 9th. Mickey at his very own 2024 Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Now, Disney has not yet announced dates for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so we’re just guessing here, but we think it’s a pretty well-educated guess. We’ll let you know when we get the dates for the parties this year, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more. For the First Time in 16 Years, I Left Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party EARLY. Here’s Why. Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! WE KNOW DISNEY. YOU CAN, TOO. Are you a fan of Disney World’s infamous puffy pizza? PizzeRizzo Over in Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios, you can dine at PizzeRizzo, which serves up Disney World’s well-known quick-service puffy pizza. Whether you love or hate this rat pizza joint, unfortunately, this controversial restaurant is set to close. At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August of 2024, it was announced that a new Monsters, Inc. Land would be opening in Hollywood Studios. While some concept art was revealed along with one of the rides that will be featured in this new area of the park, Disney did not initially announce where this land would go. ©Disney Many hoped that it would replace the Animation Courtyard, but in December of 2024, it was revealed that the land would take over what is left of the Grand Avenue along with Muppets Courtyard. ©Disney While no closing date has been announced for this area of the park, construction is set to begin this year, which means we will be losing Muppet*Vision 3D, Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, and PizzeRizzo. Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios Now we know that not everyone cares for PizzeRizzo, and we can’t lie, a lot of the time, we have recommended skipping out on this pizza joint for other dining options in Hollywood Studios; still, it is sad to see a unique restaurant like PizzeRizzo close. PizzeRizzo Believe it or not, it has not even been around for a decade. In 2016, the restaurant was re-themed into PizzeRizzo as it was previously a pizza restaurant themed to Toy Story’s Pizza Planet. AJ has been in the Disney food game for over 15 years and has actually covered PizzeRizzo from its opening! Check Out DFB’s First Review of PizzeRizzo! A little nod to PizzeRizzo’s predecessor Here, you can find different pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and a few desserts. This quick service location is only open for lunch and dinner and typically closes pretty early at 5 PM. This is honestly a bit of a bummer, as Muppet*Vision 3D also tends to close before the park closes. Plus, the Stage 1 Company Store has not been open since the parks re-opened after the pandemic in 2020 (except for special events and the Hollywood Studios 35th-anniversary merchandise.) So Muppets Courtyard really starts to die down at night, except for Mama Melrose’s. PizzeRizzo Spread While the menu at PizzeRizzo may not be anything special, it is the atmosphere that will be hard to let go of. While many people choose to eat outside or in the downstairs dining room, there is a whole party that people are missing out on upstairs! Rizzo’s Deluxe Supreme Banquet Hall The second floor is home to Rizzo’s Super Deluxe Banquet Room, which hosts an ongoing wedding reception. Yes, it may be tacky, but it is so fun and makes visiting PizzeRizzo worth it, especially if you like puffy pizza. The banquet hall So what will PizzeRizzo become after it closes for the Monsters, Inc. re-theme? Well, with the new concept art that Disney shared, we can’t really see what is in place of PizzeRizzo, but we did notice that the current location of Mama Melrose’s seems that it will transform into Harryhausen’s from the film. It is important to note that concept art does not always reflect the final product, and it has yet to be confirmed by Disney. As for the location of PizzeRizzo, we have a feeling that it will still be a quick-service location, just themed to Monsters, Inc. instead. PizzeRizzo Make sure to stop by PizzeRizzo and Muppets Courtyard one last time if you have a trip planned in 2025 before this area of the park closes. We will make sure to keep an eye out for any construction updates, so make sure to continue to follow along with DFB!
