  1. Okay, where are our Disney World popcorn bucket collectors? Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge We know, we know, collecting popcorn buckets is a THING, and well, we get it — Disney releases some pretty cool ones. That Elf Mickey Popcorn Bucket from Christmas? That thing was FIRE. The new Figment Popcorn Bucket coming to the EPCOT Festival of the Arts? WE NEED IT. Well, there’s one popular Disney World popcorn bucket that is actually BACK in Disney World — so if you didn’t get it the first time around, here’s your chance. Okay, so back in May 2024, Disney released a Salvaged Stormtrooper Helmet Popcorn Bucket in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Let’s just say that baby was POPULAR. When we went to check it out, the line for it was LOOOONG. So, yeah, this one probably sold out fast. BUT, we’ve got great news if you missed out on this souvenir: Disney just re-released it in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Yep, it’s available again! Salvaged Stormtrooper Helmet popcorn bucket If you want to get your hands on it, you’ll want to head straight to Kat Saka’s Kettle in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and other select popcorn carts in Hollywood Studios. You’ll want to buy it FAST because it could sell out quickly again. Kat Saka’s Kettle We’ll be keeping an eye out for the popcorn bucket when we’re in Hollywood Studios, as well as keep an eye out for ALL Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 2. When you visit the most popular theme park destination in the world, it’s not totally unfeasible that you might run into a celebrity. Disney Springs Celebrity sightings are nothing new at Disney World. However, celebrity chef sightings can be a bit more hit or miss. With that said, your odds are still decent at Disney World, considering the resort is home to TONS of celebrity chef restaurants and other fine-dining experiences. If your goal is to see a celebrity chef, we recommend checking out some Disney World spots during future visits! The entire Disney World Resort has hundreds upon hundreds of restaurants, including many celebrity chef-owned restaurants. In fact, 16 come to mind, and maybe — just maybe — you might spot a celebrity chef hanging out at one of them. eet by Maneet Chauhan You’re going to see a trend featuring plenty of Disney Springs restaurants with this list. Starting us off is Disney’s Springs’ eet by Maneet Chauhan. eet by Maneet Chauhan One of the newer restaurants at Disney World, eet is a restaurant by James Beard Award-winning chef and Food Network star Maneet Chauhan and her hospitality entrepreneur husband Vivek Deora. Located in the Marketplace section of Disney Springs, this restaurant that serves Indian cuisine actually had a meet-and-greet event in 2023 where participants could have their meal prepared by Chef Chauhan herself! Jaleo by Chef José Andrés One of a handful of American locations, Disney Springs’ Jaleo is a Spanish restaurant from Chef José Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup. Jaleo by Chef José Andrés Jaleo has an extensive menu of tapas that showcase traditional and contemporary Spanish cuisine, such as paella, hand-carved Jamon Iberico de Bellota, and wood-grilled Iberico pork. As for Chef José Andrés, he has been named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People twice, named Humanitarian of the Year by the James Beard Foundation, and nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2019 for disaster relief work through World Central Kitchen. Chicken Guy! You don’t have to venture very far in Disney Springs to reach Flavortown — just head on over to Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy! restaurant! Chicken Guy! This flagship restaurant is headed by superstar and world-renowned Chef Guy Fieri and restauranteur Robert Earl and features a menu that offers all-natural Chicken Tenders paired with a variety of sauces as well as sandwiches, salad bowls, mac-and-cheese, frozen treats, and more. Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ restaurant in Disney Springs is one of our favorites in all of Disney World and is a spot where you can potentially meet a celebrity chef! The restaurant offers Florida-based and Southern comfort cuisine and consistently delivers a delicious experience. Homecomin’ Celebrity Chef Art Smith is known as a BBQ Pitmaster Judge, author of Art Smith’s Healthy Comfort and other cookbooks, founder of Art and Soul in Washington, D.C., and Table Fifty-Two in Chicago, and former Chef to Oprah Winfrey. The Florida native is very active in the happenings of this restaurant and even sat down to have lunch with us in 2024! Morimoto Asia Head over to The Landing in Disney Springs and dine at Morimoto Asia, one of Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s restaurants! Morimoto Asia Morimoto’s first Pan-Asian restaurant focuses on Chinese, Japanese, and Korean cuisines and features show kitchens where chefs exhibit traditions like Peking Duck Carving. Chef Morimoto has made several appearances at the Disney World restaurant so it’s possible you might see him during one of your visits! Todd English’s bluezoo Todd English’s signature bluezoo restaurant at the Dolphin Resort is highly acclaimed for its seafood and innovative menu items. ©Disney Having won several awards, including the AAA Four Diamond award, bluezoo is one of Disney World’s best dining locations. As for Chef Todd English, he has over 20 restaurants, so you might not run into him, but it’s worth the try to see this four-time James Beard Award winner, James Beard Foundation’s “Who’s Who in Food and Beverage in America” inductee, author, kitchen innovator, and Emmy-nominated personality known for his PBS travel series Food Trip with Todd English. Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill Back at Disney Springs, keep an eye out for Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill! Wolfgang Puck is one of the most iconic celebrity chefs in the world, and his restaurants can be found worldwide, even at Disney World! Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill Located in the Town Center of Disney Springs, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill is another chapter of Wolfgang Puck’s history at Disney World. He previously had the Wolfgang Puck Cafe and Dining Room on the West Side of Disney Springs and the Wolfgang Puck Express in the Marketplace. Wolfgang Puck is in demand all over the world, but it’s still possible he’ll make an appearance at Disney World. Pepe by José Andrés Get ready for another appearance by Chef José Andrés! Pepe by José Andrés is the first brick-and-mortar location patterned on the Chef’s popular food truck of the same name in the Washington, D.C. area. Pepe Pepe boasts Spanish cuisine, including hot and cold sandwiches on pan de cristal, sangria, and more. This is a counter-service restaurant, so you can dine inside Pepe or take your food to go as you go on the lookout for more celebs. Monsieur Paul Let’s head over to the parks for the next restaurant on our list! Make your way to EPCOT‘s France Pavilion and visit Monsieur Paul Restaurant for another celebrity chef experience. Monsieur Paul Located upstairs from Chefs de France, Monsieur Paul offers the culture and flavors of France that renowned Chef Paul Bocuse is known for. Monsieur Paul replaced Bistro de Paris in 2013, which was the brainchild of three of France’s most decorated chefs: Paul Bocuse, Roger Verge, and the late Gaston Lenotre. Monsieur Paul offers a high-end, French-inspired prix-fixe menu as well as a beautiful view and excellent service. The Polite Pig Owned by local Orlando legends James, Julie, and Brian Petrakis, The Polite Pig in Disney Springs offers a variety of wood-fired smoked and grilled items, as well as drinks served on tap. The Polite Pig This modern barbecue joins the Petrakis family’s local line, including The Ravenous Pig and Cask & Larder, which focus on using local seasonal ingredients. Back in 2022, The Polite Pig was recognized by the Michelin Guide, so we’re serious when we say you need to visit at least once. Terralina Crafted Italian The Landing is home to yet another celebrity chef-owned restaurant, Terralina Crafted Italian. Terralina Crafted Italian James Beard Award winner Chef Tony Mantuano created Terralina’s menu and is joined by Executive Chef Claudio Daggio, who runs the kitchen. The restaurant is “reminiscent of an Italian home” inspired by Italy’s Lake District and includes an open kitchen and outdoor veranda bar. Take in the waterfront view and see if you can catch a glimpse of an incredibly renowned chef! Frontera Cocina Let’s stay at the Landing for some Mexican cuisine at the celebrity chef-headed Frontera Cocina! Frontera Cocina Frontera Cocina is headed by celebrity Chef Rick Bayless, the host of National Public Television’s Mexico — One Plate at a Time. His résumé also includes winning Top Chef Masters and receiving the Julia Child award — not bad at all. Whether or not you see Chef Bayless, dining at Frontera Cocina and chowing down some tacos, hand-crafted tortas, fresh guacamole, and/or carnitas is never a bad idea. Planet Hollywood Guy Fieri makes another appearance over in Disney Springs’ West Side with Planet Hollywood. Planet Hollywood… stands out at Disney Springs Planet Hollywood underwent a refurbishment and reopened in early 2017 and has since stood out with a larger-than-life globe structure replete with neon lights, modeled to resemble an old-fashioned observatory. With some standard American fare with “over-the-top menu items like a fried L.A. Lasagna, Supernova Shakes, and a specialty sandwich menu,” celebrity Chef Guy Fieri once again stands out with a notable restaurant offering. Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant Celebrity Chef Kevin Dundon created Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant in Disney Springs, and it’s a must-visit in our book! Raglan Road This authentic Irish pub had its bars and furniture actually built in Ireland and offers live Irish music and dancing in addition to some pretty terrific food. Raglan Road has a contemporary Irish menu, and we definitely recommend trying traditional items like bangers and mash, shepherd’s pie, and bread pudding, as well as the creamy colcannon soup, beef stew with a hint of Guinness, and fish ‘n’ chips! Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC Hanging around the Landing at Disney Springs, Erin Mckenna’s Bakery NYC offers allergy-friendly, vegan baked goods. Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC Erin McKenna founded BabyCakes NYC and said of the bakery, “We focus on the underserved people with gluten, dairy, egg, and soy sensitivities, the heath-minded, and, most importantly, allergic kids who are often unable to indulge. Our goal is to make eating vegan and gluten-free fun and delicious.” This is a message we can definitely get behind! The Cake Bake Shop Finally, The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers isn’t quite like the other restaurants on our list, as Gwendolyn Rogers isn’t a celebrity chef but instead a film producer and actress. However, that hardly affects her celebrity status. The Cake Bake Shop Now open on Disney World’s BoardWalk, The Cake Bake Shop serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, featuring both sweet and savory menus. Gwendolyn Rogers’ passion for cooking and baking led her to create the first Cake Bake Shop with just herself and one employee, and now she has a location right here at Disney World! We’ve even seen here around the restaurant so it’s not totally impossible that you could, too! Have you seen any celebrity chefs at Disney World? 3. Sure, it’s January, but that doesn’t mean we’re not thinking ahead to spooky season in Disney World. Halloween in Magic Kingdom After all, it’s the next BIG holiday that gets a huge celebration in the parks, including fun decor (We love those Mickey pumpkin wreaths!) and an After Hours party, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (which is SO much fun). So we’re curious about when the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will happen this year…but y’all, we think Disney just dropped a MAJOR hint. So Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party usually starts sometime in August and then ends on Halloween (or sometimes, a day or two after). Yep, the Halloween season lasts a whole three months in Disney World (and we LOVE THAT). So we found something curious that we think could give us an indication of the exact date Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will start this year. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a character dining experience for lunch and dinner at Hollywood & Vine gets a Halloween makeover called Minnie’s Halloween Dine. Disney recently revealed the first date for Minnie’s Halloween Dine: August 9th. Minnie’s Halloween Dine Well, last year, the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party happened on the first date of Minnie’s Halloween Dine, so we believe that the first date for Minnie’s Halloween Dine in 2025 could also be the first date of the party. Therefore, it’s likely Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will start on or around August 9th. Mickey at his very own 2024 Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Now, Disney has not yet announced dates for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so we’re just guessing here, but we think it’s a pretty well-educated guess. We’ll let you know when we get the dates for the parties this year, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more. For the First Time in 16 Years, I Left Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party EARLY. 4. Are you a fan of Disney World’s infamous puffy pizza? PizzeRizzo Over in Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios, you can dine at PizzeRizzo, which serves up Disney World’s well-known quick-service puffy pizza. Whether you love or hate this rat pizza joint, unfortunately, this controversial restaurant is set to close. At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August of 2024, it was announced that a new Monsters, Inc. Land would be opening in Hollywood Studios. While some concept art was revealed along with one of the rides that will be featured in this new area of the park, Disney did not initially announce where this land would go. ©Disney Many hoped that it would replace the Animation Courtyard, but in December of 2024, it was revealed that the land would take over what is left of the Grand Avenue along with Muppets Courtyard. ©Disney While no closing date has been announced for this area of the park, construction is set to begin this year, which means we will be losing Muppet*Vision 3D, Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, and PizzeRizzo. Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios Now we know that not everyone cares for PizzeRizzo, and we can’t lie, a lot of the time, we have recommended skipping out on this pizza joint for other dining options in Hollywood Studios; still, it is sad to see a unique restaurant like PizzeRizzo close. PizzeRizzo Believe it or not, it has not even been around for a decade. In 2016, the restaurant was re-themed into PizzeRizzo as it was previously a pizza restaurant themed to Toy Story’s Pizza Planet. AJ has been in the Disney food game for over 15 years and has actually covered PizzeRizzo from its opening! Check Out DFB’s First Review of PizzeRizzo! A little nod to PizzeRizzo’s predecessor Here, you can find different pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and a few desserts. This quick service location is only open for lunch and dinner and typically closes pretty early at 5 PM. This is honestly a bit of a bummer, as Muppet*Vision 3D also tends to close before the park closes. Plus, the Stage 1 Company Store has not been open since the parks re-opened after the pandemic in 2020 (except for special events and the Hollywood Studios 35th-anniversary merchandise.) So Muppets Courtyard really starts to die down at night, except for Mama Melrose’s. PizzeRizzo Spread While the menu at PizzeRizzo may not be anything special, it is the atmosphere that will be hard to let go of. While many people choose to eat outside or in the downstairs dining room, there is a whole party that people are missing out on upstairs! Rizzo’s Deluxe Supreme Banquet Hall The second floor is home to Rizzo’s Super Deluxe Banquet Room, which hosts an ongoing wedding reception. Yes, it may be tacky, but it is so fun and makes visiting PizzeRizzo worth it, especially if you like puffy pizza. The banquet hall So what will PizzeRizzo become after it closes for the Monsters, Inc. re-theme? Well, with the new concept art that Disney shared, we can’t really see what is in place of PizzeRizzo, but we did notice that the current location of Mama Melrose’s seems that it will transform into Harryhausen’s from the film. It is important to note that concept art does not always reflect the final product, and it has yet to be confirmed by Disney. As for the location of PizzeRizzo, we have a feeling that it will still be a quick-service location, just themed to Monsters, Inc. instead. PizzeRizzo Make sure to stop by PizzeRizzo and Muppets Courtyard one last time if you have a trip planned in 2025 before this area of the park closes. We will make sure to keep an eye out for any construction updates, so make sure to continue to follow along with DFB! 7. You may have seen the H5 bird flu being talked about on the news recently. ©National Institutes of Health The bird flu has been causing outbreaks in poultry and U.S. dairy cows, and now more human cases have been reported. What should you know about the H5 bird flu before your next Disney trip? To start off with the good news, the CDC is currently saying that the current public health risk is low. They are continuing to monitor the situation carefully, though and are working with states to monitor people with animal exposures. So far, since 2024, there have been 66 confirmed human cases of H5 bird flu and 1 death associated with the bird flu in the United States. ©CDC Of those cases, all but three were from exposure associated with commercial agriculture and related operations. One was from other animal exposure and two cases were from an unknown exposure source. The CDC recommends a couple of protective actions for people. First, avoid direct contact with wild birds and avoid contact with wild or domestic birds that appear ill or have died. People should also avoid drinking raw milk or products made with raw milk. As well, make sure you are properly handling and cooking poultry. ©CDC The CDC doesn’t currently have any travel restrictions in place related to the bird flu. While there have been numerous outbreaks of bird flu in poultry and dairy cows, it is rare for the virus to pass from an infected person to a close contact. If it has been spread from person to person, it has not led to continued spread among people. This is very good news if you are feeling anxious about traveling to Disney World with the increase of coverage about H5 bird flu. ©CDC Most cases have occurred after close or lengthy unprotected contact with infected birds or places where sick birds have been. More rarely, cases have come from an intermediary animal like a cat or a cow. However, person-to-person transmission is very rare. That means you won’t need to worry about getting H5 bird flu from a fellow Disney guest, but just be cautious of close contact with wild birds. In fact, it is probably always a good idea to avoid direct contact with wild animals (unless, of course, your job requires it). ©CDC The bottom line is that you shouldn’t be worried about the H5 bird flu if you are heading to Disney World soon. Person-to-person transmission is very rare, and most cases have been from people being in lengthy, close contact with infected animals. Make sure to stay tuned to DFB for more news. 9. When it comes to Disney World, the magic extends far beyond the rides and parades. It’s a foodie paradise too! Yak and Yeti full spread! From fine dining to creative quick-service spots, there’s no shortage of drool-worthy dishes to try. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned Disney-goer, these standout bites from across the parks and resorts will have you craving more. Now, we’ve scoured Disney World’s 2025 menus and handpicked our absolute favorites, so grab a snack (you’re gonna get hungry reading this), and let’s dive into the tastiest dishes at the most magical place on Earth! As we said, this list might get a bit long, so grab your favorite snack and let’s go over our top Disney World dishes that you’re going to want to try in 2025! We’re going to break this list down by park/resort hotel to make things a bit clearer. Alright, let’s dive right in. Magic Kingdom Skipper Canteen – Baa Baa Lamb Chops The Skipper Canteen is an adventurous gem in Adventureland that never disappoints, and the Baa Baa Lamb Chops are next-level delicious. These spice-rubbed lamb chops are served with a medley of chermoula, cauliflower, potatoes, cipollini onions, and harissa sauce, then garnished with preserved lemons and herbs. Baa Baa Lamb Chops What makes this dish exceptional is the balance of flavors and textures. The lamb is the undeniable star—juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The preserved lemons and herbs add a delightful crispiness and burst of brightness, while the vegetables round out the plate with a hearty, satisfying touch. And let’s talk about that harissa sauce. It’s like a peppery Sriracha with just the right kick to tie everything together. Whether you’re a lamb lover or trying it for the first time, this is a must-order for adventurous eaters! Columbia Harbour House – Trio Platter For a hearty, no-frills meal in the heart of Liberty Square, the Trio Platter at Columbia Harbour House hits the spot. This fried feast includes three crispy shrimp, two golden chicken strips, and two pieces of thick-battered fish, served with hushpuppies and your choice of side (we highly recommend the fries!). Trio Platter The shrimp is the standout here, with a perfectly crunchy coating and juicy interior, but the chicken strips hold their own, too—moist, flavorful, and oh-so-satisfying. The fish is great if you’re a fan of thick, crunchy batter, though some may find it a touch over-breaded. But let’s not forget the hushpuppies: little balls of fried perfection, with a crispy golden shell encasing a warm, spiced cornbread center. These alone might be worth the trip! Hush puppies This meal is generous enough to share but so tasty you might not want to. It’s the ultimate comfort food, perfect for refueling during a busy day at Magic Kingdom. EPCOT Garden Grill – Harvest Feast At EPCOT’s Garden Grill, the Harvest Feast is more than just a meal. It’s a cozy, family-style dining experience that combines fresh ingredients, comforting flavors, and some fun character interactions (Chip and Dale might take credit for your mac and cheese toppings!). Garden Grill The first course sets the tone with warm cornbread served alongside honey butter that’s a perfect match, a crisp Harvest-Inspired Garden Salad with a mild vinaigrette, and fresh celery and carrots with ranch. While simple, the veggies are a refreshing start to balance the heartier main course ahead. Our first course! Speaking of the main course, it’s all served in one giant skillet and is endlessly refillable, so don’t be shy about asking for seconds! The chimichurri steak is the star, with a garlicky, herbaceous kick that might just have you begging for extra. The turkey and gravy are classic comfort food, and the mashed potatoes are buttery and smooth with just enough chunkiness to keep them interesting. Even the green beans get a shoutout. They’re bright, buttery, and cooked to perfection. Delicious! Oh, and don’t skip the mac and cheese. It’s creamy, cheesy, and topped with Goldfish crackers for a playful crunch (courtesy of Chip and Dale, of course). The infamous mac and cheese! Make sure to finish it all off with a melt-in-your-mouth apple pie topped with vanilla ice cream. Apple Pie for dessert! The whole meal feels indulgent without being overly heavy, leaving plenty of room for dessert and whatever snacks EPCOT has waiting for you. Regal Eagle – Sliced Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich Barbecue lovers, rejoice! The Sliced Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich at Regal Eagle in EPCOT’s American Adventure pavilion is a smoky, savory delight. The brisket is perfectly cooked – tender, flavorful, and moist – with just the right amount of smoky richness. Sliced Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich What really sets this sandwich apart is the garlic toast it’s served on. The buttery, soft bread adds a hint of saltiness that balances beautifully with the sweet, smoky brisket. It’s a simple dish with layers of flavor that make it one of our go-to meals when we’re craving barbecue. Pair it with a side like mac and cheese for the ultimate comfort food combo. Hollywood Studios Hollywood Brown Derby – Famous Cobb Salad This iconic dish from the Hollywood Brown Derby is a must-try. It’s fresh, flavorful, and packed with a mix of finely chopped greens, eggs, bacon, avocado, and turkey. We love this salad because it’s a classic and it has yet to disappoint us or leave us wanting more. It’s fresh and each bite treats you to a variety of flavors. Our Famous Cobb Salad It’s perfect for when you want something lighter but still full of flavor, and don’t forget to grab a grapefruit cake for dessert! Woody’s Lunch Box – Totchos “Totchos” which are Disney’s creative take on nachos, combine crispy tater tots with chili, queso, sour cream, corn chips, and green onions. This fun and filling dish from Toy Story Land is a fan favorite for good reason. Totchos The flavors in this always work well together. The corn chips add a nice crunchy texture, and the cheese and sour cream combine to make everything creamy and delicious. Honestly, whether you’re on the go or taking a break in Andy’s backyard, grabbing some Totchos is always a good idea. Animal Kingdom Yak & Yeti Restaurant – Ahi Tuna Nachos Over in Asia, Yak & Yeti’s Ahi Tuna Nachos are a game-changer. Think crispy wonton chips piled high with sushi-grade tuna, wasabi aioli, and a drizzle of sweet soy glaze. It’s an explosion of flavor that’s as refreshing as it is satisfying. (The spice level is a bit higher than Disney’s usual, so be ready for some heat!) Ahi Tuna Nachos And let’s talk about the portion size. It’s massive, making this dish perfect for sharing (or keeping all to yourself). If you’re a fan of raw tuna and bold flavors, these nachos are a must-try. Just be warned: after these, regular tortilla chips might never cut it again. Satu’li Canteen – Cheeseburger Pods or Chimichurri-Braised Beef Bowls Pandora’s Satu’li Canteen knows how to bring the wow factor. The Cheeseburger Pods (aka bao buns) are savory, fluffy pockets of burger goodness, that are filled with a cheeseburger-inspired mixture of ground beef, ketchup, mustard, pickles, and cheddar cheese, then served with crunchy vegetable slaw and vegetable chips,… Cheeseburger Pods …and the chimichurri-braised beef bowls feature tender beef with a smoky flavor reminiscent of a cross between jerky and brisket, brightened up by a flavorful chimichurri sauce. Served with crunchy vegetable slaw and boba pearls, it’s a unique, texture-filled meal that offers something truly different from your average theme park fare. Looks delicious! Either way you slice it, you’re winning. Flame Tree Barbecue – Pulled Pork Fries Flame Tree Barbecue in Animal Kingdom knows how to do comfort food right, and their Pulled Pork Fries are the ultimate indulgence. This dish piles warm, lightly salted Disney fries high with tender pulled pork, gooey melted cheese sauce, and a drizzle of tangy barbecue sauce. Pulled Pork Fries It’s simple, satisfying, and loaded with flavor – the perfect combination of cheesy, smoky, and tangy goodness. Don’t let the “snack” label fool you—this dish is hearty enough to stand alone as a meal. Whether you’re sharing with a friend or devouring it solo, these pulled pork fries are a must-try for barbecue lovers and anyone looking for a delicious, filling treat. Some of the Best from the Resort Restaurants Boma – Bobotie Located at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Boma’s buffet features an incredible selection of African-inspired dishes, but the bobotie is a standout. Bobotie This South African spiced meat casserole is savory, sweet, and perfectly seasoned. Whatever you decide to pair it with will be a great experience. Sanaa – Bread Service and Everything Else At Sanaa (also at Animal Kingdom Lodge), the bread service is legendary. Five types of naan paired with nine unique accompaniments, including mango chutney and red pepper hummus? Yes, please! Sanaa Bread Service While you’re there, don’t miss the samosas, butter chicken, braised beef, the seafood curry, any of the desserts – basically, the whole menu is a win. Steakhouse 71 – Stack Burger Magic Kingdom’s Contemporary Resort is home to this sleek steakhouse, and their Stack Burger is worth every bite. We’re obsessed. Featuring two perfectly cooked patties, caramelized onions, and tangy pickles on a brioche bun, it’s an elevated classic done right. Whispering Canyon – Burnt Ends Nachos If you’re staying at Wilderness Lodge (or just visiting), Whispering Canyon’s Burnt Ends Nachos are a must-try. “Burnt Ends” Nachos from Whispering Canyon Tender, smoky burnt ends piled high on crispy tortilla chips with all the fixings make this dish an unforgettable snack or meal. Topolino’s Terrace – Wood-Fired Steak and Eggs If you get the chance, you really need to start your day at Disney’s Riviera Resort with the Wood-Fired Steak and Eggs at Topolino’s Terrace. http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/wdw-riviera-resort-grand-opening-topolinos-terrace-breakfast-butchers-steak-495x600.jpgButcher’s Steak Just imagine juicy steak, perfectly cooked eggs, and a side of potatoes make this breakfast an elevated, hearty treat. Eggs Plus, you can’t beat the rooftop views! Banana Cabana – Bread Pudding Over at Caribbean Beach Resort, Banana Cabana serves up what might just be the best dessert in all of Walt Disney World—the Pineapple-Coconut Bread Pudding. This warm, tropical-inspired treat is made with tender, coconut-flavored bread pudding studded with juicy pineapple pieces and topped with a creamy caramel sauce. It’s served with a scoop of rich vanilla ice cream that slowly melts into a luscious, sweet sauce. Pineapple- Coconut Bread Pudding The portion is generous and easily shareable between two people, though you may find yourself not wanting to share once you take that first bite. This dessert is the ultimate tropical indulgence, perfect for capping off your meal or simply treating yourself to something unforgettable. Just a bite! What’s on your must-try list? 14. We’ve got good news and bad news if you’ve got an upcoming stay planned at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa The good news: you’ve got an upcoming stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort! The bad news: The Courtyard Pool will be closing for refurbishment from January 20th through late February, so if you were looking to go for a winter swim at this pool — you might be out of luck. The Courtyard Pool, spa, and Courtyard Pool Bar at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be closed for refurbishment from January 20th through “late February” according to the Disney World website. We spotted an update we hadn’t seen before that alerted us to the closure. If you’ve got an upcoming stay at the Grand Floridian, this is definitely something you want to keep in mind. ©Disney While the Courtyard Pool will be closed, you’re not totally out of luck as the Grand Floridian’s main pool — the Beach Pool — will still be available for hotel guests to enjoy. You’ll also still be able to grab some snacks and drinks at the Beaches Pool Bar located nearby as well. Courtyard Pool Bar The Courtyard Pool joins Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club hotels and the Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, which are also currently closed for refurbishment. At the Yacht and Beach Club, hotel guests can use the Tidal (Beach Club), Admiral (Yacht Club), and Dunes Cove (Beach Club) leisure pools in the meantime. 15. In the battle of roller coasters, it seems like there is a clear winner when we’re talking about the newest additions to Disney World. Yes, TRON Lightcycle / Run opened AFTER Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (sheesh — these names are a MOUTHFUL!), but it seems like people favor the EPCOT coaster over the Tomorrowland ride in Magic Kingdom. In fact, one of the exclusive TRON souvenirs in Magic Kingdom is totally unavailable right now…and it’s NOT because it sold out. Tomorrowland Tucked away in the Tomorrowland Launch Depot, Disney hosts a special TRON Identity Program where you can customize your own TRON-inspired action figure at the Grid Digitization Portal. While this activity is still relatively new, it seems to be a rather unpopular souvenir. Recently, we noticed that all of the TRON Identity Program “Portals” were closed. What’s going on with this souvenir?! According to a Tomorrowland Cast Member, the TRON Identity Program is currently closed. It’s been closed for about a week, and Cast Members couldn’t tell us when the Portals would reopen or what was going on. The activity costs $89.99 per person. TRON Identity Program During our visit, we didn’t see any Cast Members working on the kiosks, though this offering is not officially run by Disney World Cast Members. A Cast Member explained that this is technically a “Third Party” offering, meaning a separate company is in charge of the kiosks. These are closed for now! Similarly, the custom photo souvenirs you can purchase around the Disney parks (where your face gets Photoshopped onto a Disney character), like this kiosk in EPCOT, are also a third-party-run operation. This means Disney is not technically affiliated with the program, even if these studios use Disney characters in their photos. Just because you spot something for sale in Disney World does NOT mean it’s an official Disney souvenir. But that’s just a little behind-the-scenes tidbit for you from a former Cast Member. Photo Studio in EPCOT So, what does this mean for the fate of the TRON Identity Program? We’ll have to wait and see! It could be up to the third-party company that runs the kiosks. We’ll keep our eyes out for updates. The TRON Identity Program is still listed on the My Disney Experience app, so it doesn’t seem like it’s permanently closed…yet. ©Disney In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. 3 Hints That a MAJOR Magic Kingdom Announcement Is Coming Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 16. Disney World is huge as it is home to four theme parks, two water parks, a shopping and dining district, over 25 hotels, and so much more. Welcome to Disney World! All of this may sound overwhelming, and if you are worried about getting around the resort, Disney World provides free transportation for guests staying at their resorts as well as for those looking to park hop. While we have a few gripes with Disney World transportation (we are looking at you, TTC!), we are really starting to wonder when Disney World will fix the limited transportation options to Animal Kingdom as well as some of their resorts. Disney World has many different types of transportation options, including the Monorail, the Skyliner, busses, and watercraft. Taking these forms of transportation can be a ride in itself! While there are so many forms of transportation, Animal Kingdom and a handful of Disney World hotels only have Disney buses as their mode of free transportation, and it is time for this problem to be solved. Bus Transportation from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Disney has been aware of its glaring transportation problem, and that is why the Skyliner was introduced in 2019. The Skyliner gave Caribbean Beach, the Riviera, Pop Century, and Art of Animation a new way to get to and from EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Plus, EPCOT already had Monorail transportation to connect it to the Magic and watercraft transportation to connect it to the EPCOT area hotels as well as Hollywood Studios. Disney World’s Skyliner So we think it is about time that Disney builds another way to get to and from Animal Kingdom as well as its surrounding resorts. Currently, no matter where your starting point is, the only way to arrive at Animal Kingdom via free Disney transportation is by Disney bus. While the bus system has worked, sometimes these buses can be crowded. It can also be so disappointing after a long park day, and you have to watch the bus pull away from your resort’s bus stop without you. Animal Kingdom bus station There are a handful of Disney World hotels near the Animal Kingdom area, including Animal Kingdom Lodge, All-Star Movies, All-Star Sports, All-Star Music, and Coronado Springs, which also have Disney buses as their only mode of transportation. Disney Bus We know that Disney has a lot on their plates right now as many new and exciting projects are on the horizon at Disney World this year and in the years to come. Still, another form of transportation to Animal Kingdom, as well as these resorts, would help keep transportation flowing, rather than only having Disney buses as a form of transportation. Animal Kingdom Lodge Bus Stop If you are staying at one of these resorts, it can be a good idea to rent or bring your own car. Another option is to order a Minnie Van via Lyft. We have our fingers crossed that one day, transportation to and from Animal Kingdom and its surrounding resorts will expand at some point. 17. It’s about to get WICKED in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney’s Hollywood Studios This summer, a brand new VILLAINS show called Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After is coming to Hollywood Studios and it’s going to bring some of our favorite Disney baddies to the stage. Disney hasn’t revealed a LOT about the show yet, but we now have proof it’s one step closer to opening: Disney just filed the first permit for the show for general construction. The Notice of Commencement permit was filed on January 8th for a location designated as 854 Sunset Boulevard, which is the location of Sunset Showcase, the previous home of Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, which is now closed to make way for the new Villains show. The permit is for “general construction” by InterAmerica Stage, a company who has worked with Disney before. ©Orange County, FL Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After will take guests into the “mysterious, reflective realm of the Magic Mirror.” ©Disney Disney has teased that the show will feature appearances by some of its most iconic villains, including Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent with each “breaking the glass” to come to the stage to perform. It looks like this permit could be for the construction of that stage. We’ve also previously seen a Casting Notice for the show for those three specific villains. ©Disney We don’t yet have an exact opening date for Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, but the opening timeline is summer 2025. However, the permit suggests that construction has started for the show and perhaps we’ll have an idea of exactly when it’s opening soon. Disney also recently announced that a Villains-themed land would be coming to Magic Kingdom, so everything in Disney World is about to become just a bit more villainous — and we’re here for it. 18. As California is ravaged by wildfires, much of the rest of the United States is under a state of emergency due to intense winter storms sweeping across the country. ©Associated Press A blanket of snow and ice fell on the East Coast on Monday, January 6th, which has caused disruptions from the Mid-Atlantic to the Northeast, according to the New York Times. But that isn’t the only winter storm impacting the U.S. right now as another arctic blast is expected to hit from Texas to Tennessee, the Associated Press has reported. Multiple states including Maryland, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, West Virginia, Arkansas, Kentucky, New Jersey, and more have declared States of Emergency due to the polar vortex making its way across much of the United States. ©Associated Press While the northeast U.S. already got hit with an arctic blast this week, folks are preparing for another round of plummeting temperatures, freezing rain, snow, and ice. In Little Rock, Arkansas, schools are closed on Thursday and Friday in preparation for the storm which will likely bring heavy snow to the area. The arctic blast is expected to dump sleet, snow, and freezing rain across the country from New Mexico to Alabama, with the heaviest amounts likely hitting Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas, according to the National Weather Service. The mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain could cause hazardous driving conditions. ©New York Times By Friday, the system is expected to move northeastward with heavy snow and rain in the forecast from southeastern Texas to Virginia’s and North Carolina’s coasts. As much as eight inches of snow could fall throughout Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia through Saturday. The polar vortex typically spins around the North Pole, but it will occasionally head south and impact the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Experts say these cold air outbreaks are happening more frequently because of climate change. Snow on Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Resort Over in Disney World, the temperatures are colder than you might expect — but no snow is in the forecast! According to a meteorologist with WESH Orlando news, you might want to make sure you’re bundled up before you head to the parks this week and weekend! 19. Disney’s collection of streaming services — including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ – – have combined to reach over 157 million ad-supported users globally. ©Disney Rita Ferro, the company’s President of Global Advertising, shared the numbers at the 5th annual Tech and Data Showcase at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). According to Ferro, over the past 6 months, the company’s streamers have reached 157 million ad-supported monthly active users globally, including 112 million domestically in the United States. According to Disney, “the ad-supported MAU numbers are derived from active accounts across Disney’s streaming ecosystem (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+)* who have viewed ad-supported content continuously for more than 10 seconds.” From there, each active account is multiplied by the number of estimated users per account (the global average is 2.6, though “it varies by application and region” according to the company) to roughly estimate the total number of users. The Disney+ series Skeleton Crew ©Disney While revealing the numbers, Ferro said, “Disney sits at the intersection of world-class sports and entertainment content, with the most high-value audiences in ad-supported global streaming at scale. We wanted to be the first to offer our industry greater transparency into the methodology used to estimate our engaged global ad-supported monthly active users.” ©Hulu The massive numbers announcement comes at a pivotal time during the evolution of streaming. Many service providers — including Disney — have started offering new tiers of plans as well as joining together in bundles in an attempt to raise subscriber numbers and increase profitability. ©Disney Disney recently used the Tech and Data Showcase at CES to announce that they’re steaming services have reached over 157 million ad-supported users globally. 21. In 2024, Disney announced many upcoming changes for Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom It was revealed that Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America will close to make way for two new Cars-themed attractions. We finally found out what will lie “Beyond Big Thunder” as the highly anticipated Disney Villains Land was confirmed. While we know that there are big things on the horizon for the Magic Kingdom, we have a feeling that another big announcement is in the works! We know that a lot of work has been done on Magic Kingdom just within the last year, including the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the re-imagined Country Bear Jamboree. Still, there are a few clues that lead to the potential of another big announcement for Disney World’s castle park. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom It is no secret that the future has already come for a majority of Tomorrowland, and the land could use some extra love. Many fans have speculated that an overhaul of the land will eventually be announced. While Disney has not confirmed a Tomorrowland refurb, we have three reasons why an announcement about the future of Tomrowwland might be made. Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom To start, when the new concept art was revealed for the Monsters, Inc. Land coming to Hollywood Studios, we noticed something suspicious about one of the billboards. If you look closely, you can see that it is advertising for the Monsters, Inc., Laugh Floor, which currently resides in Tomorrowland. ©Disney Could this mean the Laugh Floor will move into the new land? Maybe. While concept art changes and sometimes does not reflect what is built, it is interesting to think about the potential relocation of this attraction. ©Disney If the Laugh Floor does end up moving, that would mean yet another closed building in Tomorrowland. Currently, Tomorrowland Terrace is only open for fireworks dessert parties and is not open for its usual quick-service meal period. Tomorrowland Terrace It is hard to believe that another building in Tomorrowland has been sitting abandoned for over seven years. Right across the way from the Laugh Floor was Stitch’s Great Escape, which closed in 2018. Since nothing has been put in its place, we have our fingers crossed that Disney is planning to use this location for a new attraction or meet and greet location if a Tomorrowland refurb is in the works. Stitch’s Great Escape As we mentioned, the future has come, and unfortunately, that means that Tomorrowland is no longer the land of tomorrow. While we love taking a spin on the PeopleMover and the Carousel of Progress, the land needs a new spark. Yes, TRON Lightcycle / Run just opened in 2023, but the land as a whole needs some help. Tomorrowland While we think it is time for a Tommorowland refurb, we, unfortunately, don’t think we will get this announcement anytime soon as Magic Kingdom will be construction-filled over the next few years as other projects are completed. If Tomorrowland were to close during the construction that is already planned in and near Frontierland, it would be a crowd nightmare as so many attractions would be closed. Tomorrowland Speedway So, while we don’t think the Tomorrowland refurb will happen anytime soon and Disney has not announced anything, we believe these three clues point to the potential overhaul of Tomorrowland once projects like the Cars expansion and Villains Land are completed. Those new lands will be able to absorb a lot of the crowds and it won’t hit wait times as hard if they do choose to close part or all of Tomorrowland for a refurb! Ghirardelli However, the biggest price increases usually happen in the fall when we see price increases across the board at almost every Disney World restaurant location. Well, we didn’t see price hikes then for Ghirardelli in Disney Springs, but we are seeing some pretty significant price increases now.
