People from around the world travel to Disney World all throughout the year, but those who live close to the Most Magical Place on Earth have the chance to visit the parks whenever they please. Magic Kingdom Many Florida residents will often get Annual Passes if they intend to visit Disney World often throughout the year. However, Disney also offers special tickets for Florida residents, including the Discover Disney ticket which is making a comeback in 2025! Here’s what you need to know if you’re a Florida resident and hoping to snag this discounted ticket for the parks. The Florida Resident Discover Disney Tickets will become available for purchase on January 7th. It’s a special 4-day ticket for $60 per day, plus tax. The total price comes out to $240 plus tax, which is a great deal that only those who reside in Florida can take advantage of. There is also a 3-day ticket also available for $225 plus tax. ©Disney You can use this ticket for dates between January 13th through May 23rd, 2025. This is NOT a date-based ticket, so you will have to make Park Pass Reservations in advance which are limited and subject to availability. You’ll be able to use this ticket either on consecutive or nonconsecutive days, which offers great flexibility to those who don’t have to travel too far to the parks! These base tickets are only valid for admission to one theme park per day. ©Disney However, you can add on additional options to the tickets to make them even more flexible and up the fun! You can add the Park Hopper Option for $40 more per ticket, the Water Park and Sports Option for $35 more per ticket, or the Park Hopper Plus Option for $55 more per ticket, plus tax. Adding on these options will give you more options for each day you’re at the parks. ©Disney Remember, these tickets go on sale on January 7th, and they must be used between January 13th and May 23rd, 2025. The tickets and any add-on option will expire on May 23rd, 2025. If you’re a Florida resident who loves going to Disney World, don’t miss out on these special tickets priced just for you! It’s a new year in Disney World and Disney has already revealed its first free Disney Dining Plan offer of the year. Gingerbread Salted Caramel Buttercream Cookie Sandwich In case you missed it, you can now get the Disney Dining Plan FOR FREE if you book a vacation package with a hotel room and theme park tickets for the following dates: May 27th through June 26th and July 7th through August 6th, 2025. You’ll need to book your package by February 10th, but if you’re interested in how to best use those Dining Plan snack credits in EPCOT (one of our favorite places in Disney World to grab a snack), we’ve got you covered. What is the Disney Dining Plan? The Disney Dining Plan is an optional add-on to your Disney World vacation package. Once you’ve paid to add the Dining Plan to your vacation package, you have basically prepaid for your meals during your trip. Once you arrive in Disney World, you’ll want to visit a participating restaurant, eat, and scan your MagicBand, Key to the World card, or Disney MagicMobile pass. Credits for your food will be deducted from your pre-paid allotment. Note that gratuity is not included, so you still need to tip. Food at Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom There are two versions of the Dining Plan: the Quick Service Disney Dining Plan or the Standard Disney Dining Plan. Both plans include one snack credit for each day of your stay (note you don’t have to use them in any given day). You can use those snack credits on eligible snacks and drinks in Disney World. So how can you best use those snack credits in EPCOT to get as much value out of the Dining Plan as possible? We’ll tell you! Here’s what you’ll want to get. Learn more about the Dining Plan here Churro Sundae at La Cantina de San Angel — $7.99 Yep, out of habit, we’re starting in Mexico (#sorrynotsorry). So let’s talk about the Churro Sundae because it’s not just DELICIOUS, but it’s also $8, which means if you use a snack credit for it, you’re getting a great value out of it. This fun treat is made with mango Dole Whip, layered with whipped cream, and topped with lime Dole Whip and colorful green, red, and white sprinkles — yep, ALL our favorite things. Churro sundae It’s fruity, it’s got miniature churros in it, what more could you want? Read our review here Mickey Cinnamon Roll at Kringla Bakery Og Kafe – $7.49 Okay, so we’ll admit that the first thing we always get at Kringla Bakery Og Kafe is the School Bread. But if you’re using snack credits, it’s not as good of a value as the Mickey Cinnamon Roll, which generally costs more. One thing we do love about this snack, though, is that it is a pretty decent size so you can share it. Mickey Cinnamon Roll It’s a solid cinnamon roll AND a solid snack and at $7.49, you’re getting the most out of that snack credit you’ll use for it. Read our full review of this cinnamon roll Sweet Pretzels at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe — $7 But, wait! Before you leave Norway, you might also want to pick up either the Sweet Pretzel with Chocolate or the Sweet Pretzel with Almonds because they’re $7 and also offer a good use of your snack credits. These are SUPER popular, and for good reason — they’re delicious! Sweet Pretzel with Chocolate So if you’re looking for another sweet treat while you’re visiting with Anna and Elsa, there you go. Ultimate Guide To The Best Snacks At EPCOT Werthers Caramel Popcorn at Karamell Küche — $7.99 If you get ANY snack at EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion, you must get the caramel popcorn because it is made fresh and it is delicious. But also, at almost $8, you’re getting a good use of a snack credit. How perfect is that? We often grab a bag of this to take home because it travels so well. We LOVE this popcorn! Karamell Küche uses a certain kind of popcorn, too, so that the caramel sticks to the kernel better. You can even watch your popcorn getting made in the shop when you order it. YUM. Learn how this popcorn is made Caramel Gingerbread Cookie Sandwich at Karamell Küche for $7.79 Let’s stay in Germany because one of our ALL-TIME favorite snacks is here, although it sometimes goes away and is often just a seasonal snack. But if it’s an option, GET the Caramel Gingerbread Cookie Sandwich, which is also a worthy way to use a snack credit. Caramel Gingerbread Cookie Sandwich You get two delicious soft gingerbread cookies sandwiched with Werthers caramel and salted caramel buttercream frosting. This could be the most perfect snack that ever existed. Read a review! The American Dream at Fife and Drum for $7 The American Dream is THE specialty drink at the American Adventure Pavilion and it’s going to be a great snack to grab with a credit on a hot Florida day. It’s a slushy made with Frozen Fanta Wild Cherry, vanilla soft serve, and Frozen Fanta Blue Raspberry, and the colors are layered in red, white, and blue. American Dream This is also a good snack to please kids with and being able to use a snack credit for it, even better, right? Read our review of this drink Mickey Pretzel with Cheese Sauce at Block and Hans — $8 Before you leave the great U.S.A., though, be sure to stop by Block and Hans to get a classic Mickey Pretzel with cheese sauce. At $8, you’re getting your money’s worth with the dining plan snack credit you’ll use for it. Plus, PLASTIC CHEEEEESSSSSEEEEE. Mickey Pretzel with cheese sauce Why you’re there, you can grab a beer to go with that pretzel (although you’ll have to use your extra money for that). What’s more classic than a pretzel and beer? Read our Block and Hans review Kakigori at Kabuki Cafe — $7 Looking for a nice refreshing treat on a hot day? Use that snack credit for a Kakigori (basically, the Japanese version of a snow cone). You can use that credit for one flavor, but you may even be able to add additional flavors and sweetened condensed milk, too, on that credit (but be sure to ask the Cast Member there to be sure). Kakigori We recommend the sweetened condensed milk because it really turns a basic snow cone into a LOT more. Read a review of Kabuki Cafe Traditional Poutine at Refreshment Port — $7.50 You’ll find the unassuming Refreshment Port near Canada, so it makes sense that this is where you can get a Traditional Poutine with a snack credit. This is a classic poutine with french fries, beef gravy, and cheese curds — it doesn’t get more Canadian than that, right? Traditional Poutine from Refreshment Port The thing we love about using a snack credit for the poutine is that it really feels more like a small meal, so you’re kinda’ getting a meal for a cheaper snack credit. SCORE. Read our review of this classic poutine Liege Waffle at Connections Eatery — $5.79 Okay, so $5.79 isn’t a GREAT value for the snack credit, but if you get the Liege Waffle at the Connections Eatery (NOT the cafe), you get a Liege Waffle topped with strawberries, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce, so you’re getting a pretty filling snack. Liege Waffle Every time we eat this, it makes us feel like we’re eating a fancy festival item, but you can get this version of the Liege waffle ALL through the year. Read our review of this waffle Black Garlic, Truffle, and Parmesan Fries at Connections Eatery — $6.49 So here’s a new snack that you HAVE to try — our reporters absolutely LOVE THESE. It’s the Black Garlic, Truffle, and Parm Fries at Connections Eatery and they are SO good. Think loaded fries, but elevated. They’re topped with black garlic-truffle aioli and parmesan cheese. YAS. Black garlic, truffle, and parm fries Granted, these aren’t exclusive to EPCOT because you can also get them at a couple of locations in Magic Kingdom, but they’re a good use of a snack credit on the Dining Plan. Read our review of these fries So if you’re going to be using the Disney Dining Plan in Disney World this year, make a note to get the MOST out of your snack credits with these treats in EPCOT. Calling all Hulu fans, this is something you’ll want to know! ©Hulu There are so many streaming services like Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and more, making it almost hard to choose what to watch! Now two streaming services are merging making the choice a little bit easier. Disney’s Hulu+ Live TV and Fubo are merging together! Fubo, which launched in 2014, is a streaming and Live TV service that offers similar features to cable TV, much like Hulu Live TV. ©Fubo The two companies announced the merger on Monday, January 6th. The merger will make the Disney Company the majority owner of Fubo giving them 70% of the ownership. The two streaming services together have 6.2 million subscribers and will still be available separately even after the deal goes through. So how does this impact Hulu subscribers? Disney+ Hulu bundle Hulu+ Live TV will still be available through the Hulu app and the Disney+ bundle if it’s available in your subscription. It will give Fubo users access to the different things streaming live through Hulu+ Live TV but it won’t give Fubo users access to Hulu. This means shows like “Only Murders In The Building” or “The Handmaid’s Tale” won’t be available to Fubo streamers. ©Hulu This deal also includes Fubo and Disney settling their litigation over Venu, a proposed streaming service by Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery. Fubo previously brought a lawsuit against Disney claiming the streaming service would be “anticompetitive” leading to a judge blocking the launch of the app, according to CNBC. Venu Sports This merger will give Fubo and Hulu+ Live TV users a bit more to stream without any major changes at the time of writing. According to Bloomberg, this will make it the number 2 digital pay-TV provider following YouTube TV. Follow AllEars.Net for more Disney news and updates. We’re only a few months away from the opening of Epic Universe in Orlando and the excitement just keeps building! ©Universal We’re expecting to see very heavy crowds around the new park for quite some time after its opening due to its popularity (which could mean Disney World sees lower crowds this summer — we’ll have to wait and see!), and we’re preparing ourselves to run around the park as fast as we can to capture everything and report back to you ASAP. However, Universal just released a photo that gives us a fun insight into the new park! Universal Orlando’s Team Member Instagram released a photo of their new nametags coming to the Universal Orlando Resort this year, and if you look closely, you might recognize the design just a little bit! @uotmlife on Instagram If you’re familiar with the Disney World design of the four park icons — Cinderella Castle, Tower of Terror, the Tree of Life, and Spaceship Earth — all being on a shirt, photo frame, etc., then this type of design likely looks very familiar! Universal Orlando will have four parks as well when Epic Universe opens, and their park icons are the Lighthouse (Islands of Adventure), the Volcano (Volcano Bay Water Park), the Chronos (Epic Universe) and the entrance arch to Universal Studios, with the Universal globe in the center to bring it all together. ©Universal Since these nametags are debuting soon, they will likely be the ones Epic Universe employees are wearing for its opening day on May 22nd, 2025. But that’s not all — did you notice the actual names on the nametags? You’ve got Mario, Peach, and Daisy from the new Super Nintendo World, Dolores, Harry, Luna, and Ron all from the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter section, Apollo and Astrid from Isle of Berk, and so many more nods to the IP in the park. ©Universal We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Epic Universe and Universal Orlando news, so stay tuned to DFB! All four Disney World parks are prepping for some pretty big changes this year. Toy Story Land We originally thought Disney’s Hollywood Studios would be left mostly unscathed, but alas, it was announced that the new Monsters, Inc. land would be taking over Muppets Courtyard and the Muppets would be moving to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and we’re expecting those changes to begin later this year. In fact, a lot of these changes could make the parks more crowded, so beware! Muppets Courtyard Construction Muppets Courtyard will be completely overhauled into the new Monsters, Inc. Land, although we don’t know when this construction will be beginning just yet. The demolition of the current land will mean the end of MuppetVision 3D in its current form (Disney has hinted that they may be attempting to find a way to preserve the footage, but we don’t have many details on it just yet), as well as saying goodbye to two restaurants. Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios While MuppetVision 3D isn’t wildly popular, it is a great filler attraction to even out crowds. The restaurants, one table service (Mama Melrose’s) and one quick service (PizzeRizzo), will also be closing, meaning that other locations around the park will likely get busier. While we are expecting new restaurants and attractions to open up in the new area, it’ll be quite some time before we see them come to life, meaning that these extra crowds will be here to stay for a while. Everything we know about the new Monsters, Inc. Land so far! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Retheme Many fans are upset about the fact that the Aerosmith theming will soon be gone from Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. However, the itself isn’t going anywhere! The theming will now switch to be Muppets, specifically Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, but when this change will be beginning is unsaid at this time. ©Disney The closure of this attraction to make way for the retheme will mean that all rides/attractions, with the exception of Tower of Terror, will be closed on Sunset Boulevard until the new Villains show, Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, opens where Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy used to be. We don’t have an opening timeline for either of these upcoming attractions, so it’s possible the Villains show could open before Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closes, but if both are closed at the same time, expect to see MAJOR crowds over near Tower of Terror! Learn everything we know about the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster retheme here! New Little Mermaid Show We’re also finally getting the new Little Mermaid show, “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure,” is set to open in Summer 2025! It was originally scheduled to open in Fall 2024, but was pushed back due to reasons not revealed to the public. While we’re thrilled to see something finally going in the old Voyage of the Little Mermaid building, the crowds this show will likely bring in will cause more traffic around Animation Courtyard. Voyage of the Little Mermaid will soon become “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” Specifically, the corridor that brings you towards the show, bringing you past Walt Disney Presents and the Market. When the show opens, we’re expecting relatively large crowds to build up in this area — we’ll keep you updated! Learn more about the new show here! We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the crowds as the new year continues, so stay tuned to DFB! It’s Official! Another day, another new Disney World snack! Okay, okay, technically this snack isn’t exclusive to Disney World, but we’re excited about it all the same. Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom Disney World is home to several different Starbucks locations (though you may find them under different names in the parks!) and that means when new snacks come to Starbucks, they come to Disney World too! A new vegan snack has rolled out and we’re spilling everything you need to know about it in this review. Another day, another new Disney World snack to check out! We headed over to Main Street Bakery at Magic Kingdom — the Starbucks location in this park — to try the new vegan Spicy Falafel Pocket for $4.95. The description on the Starbucks website for this item says it’s made with “Smashed falafel, creamy hummus, roasted red bell peppers, pickled onions and a spicy herb sauce wrapped inside a toasted lavash flatbread.” Vegan Spicy Falafel Pocket Sounds good, right? Here’s the thing, though. When you order this wrap at Disney Starbucks locations, it won’t come with the “spicy herb sauce.” The Cast Member advised us that because of the official name of the sauce, it wasn’t able to be served at Disney World. This sort of made us scratch our heads — because why would that be the case? Upon further investigation, it appears the sandwich is supposed to be made with a chipotle almond dip made by Bitchin’ Sauce, and apparently, Disney Cast Members aren’t allowed to say it or show it to anyone if it were to be in the allergy books — so they omitted it altogether. A decent stretch Funny story aside, we thought this was a very strange sandwich to be served without any kind of sauce or chutney on the side. We’re assuming the spicy aspect comes from the sauce we weren’t allowed to have, and that made us sad. The hot sauce packets they give out at Pecos Bill’s would have at least been something. The Cast Member who served it to us warned us it was on the dry side and gosh, they were not wrong. Inside filling without the sauce We did like the fact that the falafel was smashed and we didn’t have to bite through big dry balls of falafel, and the flavor of the falafel filling was very delicious — enough that we would order this again and maybe bring our own hot sauce packets. That’s a lot to ask of folks, though, and we find it odd they didn’t come up with something to substitute on their own, as this is not a fully realized dish. Even without the sauce, though, it was quite delicious — if a bit dry — and we’d get it again as a filling snack! We still enjoyed it WE KNOW – there are SO many great snacks at Disney World! How do you choose (we don’t want to choose but will blow our budget on Day 1 otherwise)? We’ve got you covered! We have reviewed nearly EVERY snack available at Disney World, and we’ve written a series of DFB Guides about them! Let’s talk travel! Let’s go somewhere! When it comes to planning your ultimate Disney trip, there are lots of things to take into consideration like flights, hotels, and more! One change to be aware of? One Florida-based airline has filed for bankruptcy. Last month, December 2024, Silver Airways filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. According to The Orlando Business Journal, Silver Airways filed after several years of debts and losses due to the Covid-19 pandemic according to the filing. Orlando International Airport The airline listed up to $500 million in debt and assets and cited the rising cost of fuel, labor, and parts as additional issues as well as the losses during the pandemic. They also noted that leisure travel has declined as well as multimillion-dollar damages to one of their aircraft. MCO Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection is a formal process that will allow Silver Airways to continue operating while the company reorganizes its debts. The airline wrote an open letter to their customers explaining their choice and reassured customers that all current tickets will be honored and that additional flights can still be booked. Airplane The airline is based in Hollywood, Florida, and was the 22nd largest airline at MCO in 2023. This is the second large airline to file for bankruptcy after Spirit Airlines filed in November 2024. Spirit Airlines at Orlando Airport In the open letter, the company explained that they anticipate to complete this process in the first quarter of 2025. There are a lot of rules in Disney World. Disney Bus Most of them are relatively simple, rules that you find at most theme parks, but others are specific to Disney. For example, children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by someone over the age of 14 to board an attraction, and they can be specific about what clothing is allowed in the parks (other companies don’t seem to care either way unless it’s really inappropriate), just to name a few. We have to admit, too — we so wish Disney would do away with this transportation rule because it would make all our lives so much easier! When you drive to Magic Kingdom yourself, you’ll find that you park at the Transportation and Ticket Center and then take the Monorail or Ferryboat to the park. This easily can add 15-30 minutes to your day depending on how busy security is, which can really mess up plans if you’re not budgeting it in already. If you take the complimentary shuttle from Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Hotels, you’ll also be brought to the TTC instead of the park. Monorail line However, if you take a Disney bus from another Disney World park or one of Disney World’s hotels, you’ll be brought straight to Magic Kingdom instead of the TTC, saving you valuable time. You’ll still go through security, but at least you won’t have to take another mode of transportation to get to the park — instead you’ll just walk forward to the front gates. TTC Security The rule we wish would change? Well, if you take a rideshare to Magic Kingdom, aka a Lyft or an Uber, you’ll be dropped off at the TTC, NOT Magic Kingdom. If you take a Minnie Van (Disney’s private rideshare that they’ve partnered with Lyft for) you’ll be brought to Magic Kingdom directly, but those are often more expensive than traditional rideshares, and some people don’t know about them. TTC Rideshare We get it — rideshares are driven by people who aren’t Disney World Cast Members, unlike Minnie Vans, so it wouldn’t make a ton of sense for them to get special permission to drive straight to the Magic Kingdom, and it might confuse drivers and the app they use for directions, but we can dream, right? Minnie Vans If you’re trying to save time and are traveling with a large group, then taking a Minnie Van will likely be a great option! You can book one through Lyft app while you’re on Disney World property, and you’ll see a Minnie Van option show up along with other regular Lyft choices. We’ve taken these many times before and have really enjoyed them, but think they’re most worth it for families with young kids who need carseats and large groups (especially ones where the bill can be split between everyone). Screenshot from Lyft We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest transportation news and rules around Disney World to help keep you up-to-date for your next trip, so stay tuned to DFB! Picture this: You’re strolling through Disney World on your vacation a few years from now, and as you make your way out of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you suddenly enter… the town of Springfield from The Simpsons. Wait, what? The Simpsons land at Universal Hollywood Technically, Disney owns Fox — which is the home of Homer, Bart, and the rest of the Simpsons family — so it’s not too far of a stretch. And, according to a new survey being sent to Disney park guests, it could actually happen. D’Oh boy! The Orange County Register has reported that Disney is sending a survey out to recent park guests asking if they would like to see Simpsons-themed lands, attractions, and meet-and-greet characters in the theme parks, according to blogger Drew Smith. ©Disney Disney acquired The Simpsons back in 2019 when they purchased 21st Century Fox for $71 billion. The contract Fox previously signed with Universal for exclusive rights to The Simpsons in its U.S. theme parks was not impacted by the Disney acquisition — both the Orlando and Hollywood Universal parks have Simpsons lands based on Springfield, where the show is set. The Simpsons The timing here is especially interesting, as Universal’s 20-year contract to use The Simpsons in its theme parks expires in 2028 — giving Disney free rein to add Simpsons IP to the parks as they see fit. We previously saw Simpsons characters at a meet-and-greet during the D23 Expo in 2019, as part of Disney’s push to market Disney+, where The Simpsons is available to stream. Krusty and Sideshow Bob Of course, Disney hasn’t made any sort of official announcement about bringing The Simpsons to the parks and we doubt they will anytime soon — if they ever even do. It’s entirely possible that this survey could end up going nowhere. Maybe Disney gets negative results about bringing new not-originally-Disney IP like The Simpsons into the parks and decides not to attempt to bring any sort of theming to the parks. ©Disney Or, maybe, five years from now, we’ll be eating our words and a Lard Lad doughnut in Disney World. One thing is for sure — we’ll be on the lookout for the latest Disney parks news so you don’t miss any important updates. Make sure you stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney news! January 6th is shaping up to be a big day at Disney World. Cinderella Castle This random Monday in January is looking like it’s going to be a very busy day at the parks! We’ve just gotten out of the busy holiday season, but this upcoming weekend, January 8th through January 12th, is the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which is likely to bring in lots of people to the parks. As we start the marathon week, there may be other factors at play that are causing January 6th to be SO busy. Park Pass Reservations are no longer required for most ticket holders. If you have a date-based ticket, there’s no need to book a Park Pass Reservation. However, anyone who does not have a date-based ticket and Annual Passholders must still make park reservations (except on Good-to-Go days for Passholders). Because of this, we can use the reservation system to get a clue about whether or not a specific day at the parks is likely going to be busy, and Monday, January 6th, looks like it’s going to see lots of crowds! Crowds at Magic Kingdom Monday, January 6th is SOLD OUT of Park Pass Reservations for ticket holders at both Magic Kingdom AND Disney’s Animal Kingdom! ©Disney On the same day, reservations for Annual Passholders are also sold out for the two parks, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom! ©Disney Why would these two parks be sold out on Monday, January 6th? Well, the race weekend coming up most likely has something to do with it. But it could also be impacted by the After Hours event that day in Magic Kingdom! The specially ticketed event is sold out for January 6th, and many people heading to the event may be starting and ending their day at the park. Magic Kingdom After Hours While there are no After Hours events being offered at Animal Kingdom this year, the wild animal park is still likely to be busy on January 6th. Race weekend guests may be flooding the animal-themed park simply because it’s loads of fun! The park will soon be seeing the first round of DinoLand, U.S.A. closures on January 13th, so it’s possible this is impacting the number of people heading to the park this coming week. Animal Kingdom The upcoming week may be a busy one! If you’re headed to the parks, be prepared for some potentially longer wait times. If you’re interested in shorter waits and extra fun, consider purchasing an After Hours ticket to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, or Hollywood Studios for one of the select nights. There are fewer people, complimentary snacks, and lots of fun to be had at these events! For more Disney news, keep following DFB! Planning a Disney World vacation isn’t for the faint of heart — that’s especially true if you’re planning to spend any time in Magic Kingdom. Cinderella Castle And, while you certainly shouldn’t expect to have anything close to what could be described as a “relaxing vacation” in Magic Kingdom, there are definitely a handful of not-so-secret tips that can help you get the most out of your day. No matter when you’re planning on visiting Disney World next, these are our top tips to MAXIMIZE your time in Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom can be a fickle beast — but it doesn’t have to be intimidating! It might be difficult to accomplish everything on your list in one day but we’ve rounded up some of the best ways to maximize your time in Magic Kingdom. Lightning Lanes Are a MUST Lightning Lane Multi Pass is an optional paid service available through the My Disney Experience app which allows you to bypass standby lines and enter the Lightning Lane at select attractions in the parks by paying a base price for multiple attractions. (This is the new option that has replaced what was previously known as Disney Genie+.) Lightning Lane When purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can make up to 3 Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections in a park in advance of your visit. Additionally, you can choose available times as you make your attraction selections, and can continue to hold up to 3 Lighting Lane Multi Pass selections at a time. While it’s not always 100% necessary in the parks depending on the time of year you’re visiting, if you’re trying to see and do everything that Magic Kingdom has to offer — rides, shows, parades, characters, SNACKS — you’re going to want to shell out for Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows you to skip the standby lines at select Disney World rides, including some of the most popular rides that garner the worst wait times. If you’re trying to make the most of your time in Magic Kingdom, purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass is definitely the first step toward seeing everything you want to see! Skip Parades and Fireworks We know, we know — parades and fireworks are what make Magic Kingdom so special (especially since there aren’t parades in any other Disney World parks right now, but I digress…) but if you truly don’t care about seeing whatever parade or fireworks show is currently happening in Magic Kingdom, you can get a LOT done when everyone else is distracted by them! Festival of Fantasy We often see wait times drop during parades and fireworks because so many people want to take in the shows — and while we certainly don’t blame them, folks who would rather ride rides than see shows can make hay during these times. We’ve even seen popular rides like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train be essentially walk-ons with little to no waits during the fireworks! It can be a great way to sneak onto a ride that normally has a long line without having to sacrifice a ton of your time. Study the Map Before Your Trip If you’re going to Magic Kingdom for the first time or maybe are just directionally challenged (we get it) you might consider familiarizing yourself with the layout of Magic Kingdom ahead of your visit. Check out the map on the My Disney Experience app! Of course, you don’t actually need to memorize where everything is located, but having a general idea of which rides and restaurants are located in which lands might help you plan out your day. My Disney Experience app Magic Kingdom features a hub and spoke design that makes it relatively easy to get from one place to the other, but you can still get stuck behind parades and cavalcades depending on the time of day if you’re not careful. And, once you’re actually in Magic Kingdom, you can still use the My Disney Experience app map to get around by searching and more! Use Mobile Order Don’t want to waste your time standing in lines to order food at Magic Kingdom? You might want to consider using Mobile Order! On the My Disney Experience app, you can order from several different eateries right on your phone and then head to the pickup window once you’re notified that your order is ready! You may still have to wait a bit, but since you don’t have to physically be in a line, you’re free to do whatever you want in the meantime. Mobile Order sign in EPCOT The important thing to remember is to head toward the restaurant with enough time to check in during your window so your food can be made fresh. Otherwise, you may miss your window (but typically Cast Members are still able to accommodate you!). You can even save time by ordering early in the day and scheduling your pickup window for later! Take Advantage of Early Entry or Rope Drop When it comes to Magic Kingdom, the earlier you get there — the better. If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, you can take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry which allows you to enter the parks up to 30 minutes before they officially open. While it doesn’t sound like a whole lot of time, it can be a game-changer when you’re trying to maximize your time. But, even if you’re not staying at a Disney World hotel, you can still save time by getting there early. Early Entry at Magic Kingdom By getting to the parks in time for “rope drop” (or when they open) you’ll be able to get a jump on folks who slept in or didn’t think they really needed to be there quite so early in the day. Just like Early Entry, this can save you a lot of time in the long run! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for the latest updates and news from Disney World. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog so you don’t miss any important announcements! I have a confession to make: I hate camping. I do not go out into the great outdoors unless it involves visiting Disney World or Disneyland. Animal Kingdom is my idea of roughing it, y’all. That’s why you’ll never find me pitching a tent at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. NOT. FOR. ME. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge BUT…I just learned about a glamping opportunity (that’s glamorous camping, where you have a more luxury kind of camping experience that doesn’t usually involve waking up with insects or animals inside your tent with you). It’s Star Wars-themed, and y’all…I kinda want to go. No. I REALLY want to go. Okay, so there’s this place called Outpost X in Beryl, Utah, and it’s located in an area that could literally pass for Tattooine. So you can go glamping there and live out your best Star Wars fantasies OUTSIDE of a Disney park. You can even rent out your own Tattooine-like cave that comes with a full kitchenette, heated blankets, heating, and a/c — all the comforts of home. But you’ll be sleeping IN A TATTOOINE-LIKE CAVE. Luke Skywalker never had it so good. ©Outpost X But there’s more! Because you also get access to sand cruisers — SAND CRUISERS. These are vehicles that you can literally ride around in the desert surrounding Outpost X. I cannot stress that enough — you can ride on sand cruisers. You certainly can’t do that at Disney. Granted, these are wheeled vehicles, but they look like sand cruisers and that’s pretty epic. ©Outpost X There’s also a spa, trampolines, fire pits, and all kinds of other glamping amenities. If you love food and cooking, like I do (I mean, look where I work), you can even book a culinary experience, where all the ingredients and recipes for your meals during your stay are waiting on you in your cave (or tent, or whatever you book). Like I said earlier, you’ve got a full kitchenette, so they just make it easy. ©Outpost X There’s even a game room with a custom game table, board games, and a PS5 where I can play Star Wars Outlaws to my heart’s content. Okay, DREAM vacation (my idea of enjoying free time usually involves my Xbox, after all). ©Outpost X Feeling a little thirsty? Drop by the cantina, where I bet it’s WAY easier to get into than Oga’s Cantina. Now, you won’t find aliens pouring your drinks: this is a self-serve bar with “clues and surprises for an immersive mocktail experience.” ©Outpost X If you REALLY want to get into the whole Star Wars vibe, you can also rent costumes. If you choose to rent some outfits, you’ll get some mix and match items like scarves, tops, and bottoms. However, it does look like you can bring your own costumes, too, because we found these photos on the Outpost X website of some Star Wars cosplayers. (YO! CHECK OUT THAT SWEET CAD BANE!) Did I mention I cosplay Jyn Erso and Hera Syndulla? THINK OF THE PHOTO OPS, PEOPLE. ©Outpost X So I never got to check out the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser during its short time in Disney World because I found the price prohibitive. However, Outpost X is way more affordable, especially if you bring along friends. A cave goes for around $390 per night, although you can rent out the entire property for $5000 per night. Day passes are also available. ©Outpost X So if you’re looking for a fun and unique Star Wars-themed adventure, it might be time to make a trip to Utah for some Star Wars glamping. I’ll see you there — May the Force be With You. Stay tuned to DFB for more. If you’re planning a trip to Disney World in late February, you might want to think twice about heading to EPCOT on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025. EPCOT While EPCOT is typically a must-visit for its iconic attractions, international cuisine, and festivals, it’s one park we’re steering clear of on that particular day. Why? Three words: Princess Half Marathon. Race Weekend Crowds The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend is one of the most popular runDisney events of the year, drawing thousands of runners (and their cheering squads) to the parks. The Aurora-themed half marathon on February 23rd is the crown jewel of the weekend. While the races themselves happen early in the morning, the impacts last all day, especially at EPCOT. ©Disney Here’s the scoop: the half marathon starts and finishes in EPCOT, making it the epicenter of activity on race day. That means runners, spectators, and volunteers will be flooding the area, not to mention regular park guests trying to navigate the chaos. World Showcase crowds during a runDisney race Race weekends are always busy, but the Princess Half Marathon tends to draw extra-large crowds because of its popularity and the fact that it coincides with peak travel times for families. Late Park Opening Another factor to consider is the adjusted park hours. On February 23rd, EPCOT won’t open to regular guests until 10:00 AM, with Early Entry for resort guests starting at 9:30 AM. This is later than usual and a direct result of the race logistics. EPCOT park entrance crowds from this year’s race weekend So, even if you’re planning to arrive bright and early, you might find yourself waiting outside the gates alongside a crowd of tired (but happy) runners. And once inside, you can expect heavier foot traffic as race participants stick around to celebrate their victories because what better way to refuel than with a plate of tacos in Mexico or a beer flight in Germany? What This Means for Your Day If you decide to brave EPCOT on February 23rd, prepare for: Crowded Pathways: Between race spectators and post-run park-goers, EPCOT’s walkways (especially around World Showcase) are likely to feel more packed than usual. Longer Wait Times: With so many extra people in the park, ride queues are bound to be longer – even for typically low-wait attractions. Traffic Delays: Transportation to and from EPCOT might take longer, as road closures and detours for the race could affect buses, cars, and ride-shares. Our Alternative Plan We’re skipping EPCOT altogether on February 23rd and recommending you do the same. Instead, consider visiting a different park or even taking a resort day. Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom could be great options, or you can enjoy a more relaxed day by the pool or exploring Disney Springs. Animal Kingdom If you’re staying at Disney World for the week, don’t worry as there’s plenty of time to enjoy EPCOT’s attractions, dining, and festivals without the hassle of race-day crowds. Just be sure to plan your visit for another day. ©Disney Trust us, avoiding EPCOT on February 23rd will save you a lot of stress, and you’ll have a much better experience when the race buzz dies down. in the meantime, we’ll keep you in the loop with any more runDisney news, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest! Let’s face it – Disney World can be a lot. Welcome to Disney World! Sure, it’s magical, but between the crowds, price hikes, and construction chaos, even the most die-hard Disney fan can feel the stress. Right now, it feels like Disney World is in a constant state of change, and keeping up with it all? Well, that’s practically a full-time job. But don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. Let’s talk about why Disney World feels extra stressful right now and how you can manage it all like a pro. As we were saying, Disney World feels extra stressful right now, but we’ve got a secret weapon for surviving Disney World. This is the ultimate game-changer for planning your trip: the DFB Guide to Walt Disney World. Whether you’re trying to decide where to eat, or how to handle the crowds, our guide has everything you need to turn the stress into pixie dust. So, let’s go over a couple of reasons why Disney World feels extra stressful right now and what you can do to manage it all like a pro. Disney World Is a Construction Zone In case you didn’t know, Disney is in the middle of a massive transformation. We’re talking about closures, refurbishments, and brand-new lands coming to life, which sounds exciting, right? I mean, it is, but it also means your park day might not look how you imagined. @Disney Here’s a look at some of what’s happening: Animal Kingdom: We’re going to start saying goodbye to DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13, 2025. It’s being replaced by the Tropical Americas Pueblo Esperanza land, featuring an Encanto ride and an Indiana Jones attraction. Plus, over on Discovery Island, Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is replacing It’s Tough to Be a Bug. Until these projects are complete, expect construction walls galore and increased crowds as fewer attractions will be available. Hollywood Studios: Big changes are happening here, too. The Muppets Courtyard is closing to make room for a Monsters, Inc. land, and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster is being re-themed to feature the Muppets. Hollywood Studios already has some of the busiest walkways in Disney World, and these updates aren’t going to make things any easier. Magic Kingdom: The biggest updates of all are coming here. In 2025, Magic Kingdom will feel like one giant construction zone. Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America are closing for good, making way for a Cars-themed area. Beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Villains Land is being built, and Big Thunder itself will be closed for over a year starting January 6th, 2025. ©Disney And let’s not forget about the resort pools! January is a great time to visit Disney World. You get cooler temperatures (and sometimes, it gets downright COLD). The holiday crowds have died down a bit (but you can often still see all the holiday decorations in the parks well into January). Things tend to be a little calmer and quieter this time of year. Orlando International Airport However, if you’re FLYING to Disney World in January, there can often be some problems. That’s because January generally brings wintry weather, which can result in flight delays and cancelations. We’re already seeing that become an issue at Orlando International Airport today, where a ton of flights have already been delayed, while others have been canceled. According to FlightAware, 144 flights have already been delayed at Orlando Internation Airport, with 25 flights being outright canceled. The airlines that seem the most affected are Southwest, Spirit, and Allegiant Air, although other airlines have also reported cancelations. ©FlightAware According to Forbes, Winter Storm Blair is hitting the Midwest pretty hard right now, bringing snow and ice conditions to many airports across the country. Over 2,500 flights have already been affected in the U.S. due to this weather. It’s likely more delays and cancellations will happen over the course of the next day or so. Orlando International Airport If you are flying today, you’ll want to be prepared just in case your flight is impacted. Be sure to have a way for your airline to notify you in the event of delays and cancellations. You can generally sign up for text alerts, but it’s also a good idea to have your airline’s app on your phone so you can check your flight’s status often. You may be able to change your travel plans or get a refund depending on your airline or whether you have a travel insurance policy. The credit card you used to book travel may also compensate you for flight, as well as compensate you for additional travel costs you incur during such events. Stay tuned to DFB for more. January is Wellness Month at Disney Springs! Get ready to stick to your New Year’s resolution with wellness and self-care around the shopping and dining district of Disney World. Disney Springs Wellness Month 2025 marks the fourth year Disney Springs has presented its Wellness Month. Throughout the month, you can book different wellness itineraries and can’t-miss offerings for you, friends, and family to participate in that include complimentary outings around Disney Springs. The itineraries and can’t-miss offerings include things like free fitness classes, complimentary tea tastings, complimentary photography tours, discounts at participating restaurants, and more. You can reserve your spot for one of the wellness itineraries on the Disney Springs website and have a day full of wellness and self-care. We got to tag along with a Walt Disney World Ambassador for a day of wellness, and we’re taking you with us to see just how much fun these wellness days can be! We met up with our tour guide, Walt Disney World Ambassador Shannon, and started our day at L’Occitane, where we got a preview of the free facials being offered in-store throughout January. MAC Cosmetics is also offering free facials throughout the month of January! Our wonderful guide, Shannon After checking out the facials and in-store offerings at L’Occitane, we headed to the amphitheater near the Amphicar dock and The Boathouse restaurant, where there was a live, high-energy Latin dance band and instructors leading a family Zumba class! These Zumba classes are offered at select times throughout the day and are part of the Family Day Out wellness itinerary. Family Zumba Class After we joined the instructors for a very aerobic dance class, it was time for lunch! Various dining locations are offering discounts on meals throughout the month as part of the wellness itineraries, including Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, where you can get 10% off in January. We grabbed our lunch at this down-home cookin’ restaurant! lunch at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ After lunch, it was time to return to the amphitheater for a fitness class presented by Cirque du Soleil! This class was actually instructed by Cirque du Soleil performers, which was SO cool to experience. There were performers in their ‘Drawn to Life’ costumes doing demonstrations on stage and in the audience. A Cirque du Soleil performer The fitness class was the coolest part of our day. While we love a free facial, this class taught by the ‘Drawn to Life’ performers was a very unique experience. You bring your own yoga mat, and Saulo, the instructor, talks you through each movement while it’s demonstrated for three different skill levels. They called the most advanced level “Cirque Level,” and it was almost as impressive as what they perform on stage in ‘Drawn to Life!’ Cirque du Soleil Fitness Class Overall, Disney Springs’ Wellness Month seems like a great event! It’s fun to have a whole month of free activities dedicated to feeling good and healthy. It was an all-around fantastic day. There are events for wellness, fitness, and self-care, which all look different but are just as equally important for a well-rounded, balanced life, and we loved that. Cirque du Soleil Wellness Workout Whether self-care to you looks like donuts and coffee, tea and photography, or fitness classes and sushi, there’s something for everyone at Disney Springs during Wellness Month this January! Some of these offerings must be booked in advance, while others are available via walk-up. Check out the Disney Springs website for more information. For more Disney news, keep following DFB! A lot of BIG things are happening in Disney World in 2025. Frontierland sign Dinoland, U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom will begin its phased closure to make way for a NEW land, Pueblo Esperanza. We expect to see construction start SOON at the Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios, which will be converted into a Monsters, Inc. land. In Magic Kingdom, Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America will soon be under construction for a new Cars expansion in Frontierland. However, something BIG is happening TOMORROW in Magic Kingdom, too: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closing for at least a year. So we’re checking it out today to see what crowds are like. We arrived in Magic Kingdom this morning and headed straight to Frontierland. Things were already looking like they were HOPPING in that land, with a lot of people heading in the direction of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Looking busy When we got to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the wait was 45 minutes. However, that wait has continued to increase and has been as long as 70 minutes. We expect this ride to be pretty busy all day. 45 minutes We decided to get in line and waited to ride it. Yep, it’s a long line. Waiting Here we go! We’re next! We’re kinda sad that this is the last day we’ll get to ride this classic Disney ride. It’s going to be closed for at least a year and will return “with a little bit of new magic.” Okay, so we’re not sure what that means, but it looks like The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness is getting a lot of TLC and maybe even some new features. Whee! As a reminder, a brand-new Villains Land is going “Beyond Big Thunder Mountain,” so we expect this area to look VERY different when Big Thunder reopens. We can’t wait to see what changes! ©Disney We’ll be keeping an eye out for updates in and around the ride (and we’ve already spotted some construction behind it), so stay tuned to DFB for more. 2024 was a year filled with announcements for the future of Disney World. Magic Kingdom While there are so many exciting projects to look forward to in the new year and in the years to come, there were eight Disney World announcements that really rocked the boat for Disney fans. Disney really kept us on our toes this year, so let’s take a look back at some of the most controversial Disney World announcements from 2024. Hello, Lightning Lane Premier Pass Even more Lightning Lane changes happened in 2024. It was announced that Disney would offer a new type of skip-the-line service that came with a hefty price tag. Premier Pass would allow you to enter the Lightning Lane of each ride in a park one time without having to make a reservation selection. ©Disney Many fans were not happy with this. At first, Premier Pass could only be purchased by those staying at a Disney World Deluxe Resort, but now anyone staying at a Disney World hotel can purchase it. Lightning Lane at Peter Pan’s Flight The Closure of Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy While Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy in Hollywood Studios may not have been its most popular attraction, it was a good show to take little ones to, as well as fans of the movie ‘Cars.’ Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy The attraction closed in October of 2024 to make way for a brand new Disney Villains stage show called Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. The show is set to open in the summer of 2025. ©Disney Well, there you have it! A look back into all the Disney World announcements that rocked the boat in 2024. It’s January — and you know what that means. We’re getting ready for one of our all-time favorite EPCOT festivals, the EPCOT Festival of the Arts. EPCOT We are so ready to enter our artsy era of the year and see all the amazing artists the festival brings, as well as eat ALL the food at the food booths (and, honestly, this festival brings SO many unique food offerings). We’re also excited about the Disney on Broadway concert series, which will be coming to the America Gardens Theatre. But there’s also something NEW coming to the EPCOT Festival of the Arts — and the park is already preparing for it. So, as you may know the new-ish CommuniCore Hall in EPCOT was pretty much built to be festival space — and we’ve seen it used for that most recently with the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, where the hall held a gingerbread display of Spaceship Earth (with a lighting show and everything!). Gingerbread Spaceship Earth Well, if you were hoping to check out CommuniCore Hall NOW, you’re going to be disappointed. That’s because the space is currently closed. But that’s because it IS solely intended to be a festival space. Now, the EPCOT Festival of the Arts starts on January 17th (which is SOON), and the hall is closed to be transformed for that festival. A Cast Member explained that this is because the space is devoted to EPCOT festivals and we’re between festivals right now. However, CommuniCore Hall will reopen with the EPCOT Festival of the Arts, where it will have a Disney On Broadway exhibit highlighting Disney’s Broadway shows (to coincide with the Disney on Broadway concert series during the festival). So that should be pretty cool, right? Disney on Broadway Concert Series So, if you’re visiting EPCOT between festivals, you should probably expect this space to be closed. However, we’ll be at the EPCOT Festival of the Arts on Day One, covering EVERYTHING, including the new exhibit inside CommuniCore Hall. So stay tuned to DFB for more.
