  1. Okay, we’re just going to say it: you should NOT be walking by Joffrey’s in Disney World. Joffrey’s Near Canada First, you can get coffee at Joffrey’s with shorter lines than Starbucks (and we’ll argue that some of the Joffrey’s drinks are BETTER). But you can also get some really good cookies like the Tower of Terror cookie or the Team Blue cookie — who can resist ride-themed cookies? Well, Joffrey’s just dropped a NEW cookie, and we think it could be one of the best cookies in Disney World — yep, we said it! We’ll be keeping an eye out for more new snacks in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. WE KNOW – there are SO many great snacks at Disney World! How do you choose (we don’t want to choose but will blow our budget on Day 1 otherwise)? We’ve got you covered! We have reviewed nearly EVERY snack available at Disney World, and we’ve written a series of DFB Guides about them! 2. Could we get anymore excited for the opening of Universal’s new theme park?!! Super Nintendo World photo op Epic Universe is opening in 2025, and we’re expecting to hear an exact opening date SOON. In the meantime, we’re constantly looking for new details to bring you — because we know you are wondering whether to plan a trip to this brand new Orlando theme park! Universal has released height requirements on its website for two of the rides in Super Nintendo World, let’s take a look. The height requirement for Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge will be 40 inches. Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge in Universal Studios Hollywood This ride combines practical sets and decoration along with virtual reality using special glasses to put you right in the driver’s seat of the popular video game series. You will enter through Bowser’s Castle and then hop into your kart as part of Team Mario. Just like in the Mario Kart video games, you will be collecting coins and items, driving through obstacles, and tossing items at Team Bowser. The ride vehicles You can be a bit smaller to ride Yoshi’s Adventure — the height limit is going to be 34 inches for that attraction. ©Universal You will be able to join the Yoshi on a search for glowing eggs throughout Mushroom Kingdom. Don’t worry — Yoshi’s not going to take you out for a speed lap around Super Nintendo World. The brightly colored Yoshi ride vehicles will move at a slow-moving pace making this a great option for the whole family. You will encounter lots of familiar characters and enjoy views of Super Mario Land. ©Universal There’s still MORE to learn about Universal’s Epic Universe! 3. We’re not the only ones who (may or may not) have believed something about Disney World that wasn’t quite true, right? Magic Kingdom We’re talking about those “tall tales” like Walt Disney being frozen and buried under Cinderella Castle or that Cinderella Castle can come apart for hurricanes. These kinds of “lies” keep getting circulated and we thought it was high time to break down some of the lies about Magic Kingdom that you thought were true! Let’s dive right in! You HAVE to Watch the Fireworks First up, let’s talk about the fireworks. Are they spectacular? Yes. Absolutely so. Seriously, Disney knows how to put on a show. But in case you didn’t know, you don’t have to watch them every single time. Beautiful! If you’ve seen them once (or a dozen times), you might want to consider skipping them to take advantage of the shorter ride wait times. So, while everyone else is “oohing” and “ahhing” at the sky, you could be enjoying Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad with hardly any wait. Magic Kingdom Fireworks Again, the fireworks are a must-see at least once, but after that, it’s all fair game. Wait Times Are ALWAYS Accurate and All Rides Have Super Long Lines Okay, so wait times. You know, those lovely numbers flashing at the entrance of each ride? Well, we find that they’re more like rough estimates than the absolute truth. TRON wait time We’ve definitely had times where a posted 60-minute wait turned into just 30 minutes. Plus, if you play it smart by hitting up rides first thing in the morning (rope drop), late at night, or during parades and fireworks, you can find the lines are way more manageable. Jungle Cruise Wait Time So, don’t let those big numbers scare you away because you’ll tend to find that they’re more flexible than they seem. All the Quick Service Food Here is Bad Now, let’s address the food at Magic Kingdom. Sometimes the Quick Service (QS) dining here gets a bad rap, but just know that not all QS spots at Magic Kingdom are created equal. Columbia Harbour House Sure, some options might not hit the spot, but places like Columbia Harbour House and Casey’s Corner serve up some pretty tasty bites. And don’t even get us started on a Dole Whip from Aloha Isle! This is a classic! So, give those QS spots another shot next time you’re in Magic Kingdom. You might just find a new favorite snack or meal. Cinderella Castle is Made of Stone You may not believe us when we say that Cinderella Castle, the iconic heart of Magic Kingdom, is NOT made of stone. Mind blown yet? It’s actually made of fiberglass. Magic Kingdom You heard us right. That glittering, towering, majestic castle is lighter than it looks. Disney’s Imagineers chose fiberglass for its durability and flexibility, which is perfect for ensuring the castle can withstand the test of time. Cinderella Castle So, while it may look like it’s straight out of an ancient fairytale, it’s a modern marvel of engineering. Magic Kingdom is Just for Kids Last but not least, let’s set the record straight. Magic Kingdom isn’t just for kids. While it’s definitely family-focused, there are plenty of attractions that adults can enjoy, too. TRON Lightcycle / Run Rides like TRON Lightcycle / Run, Haunted Mansion, and even the Astro Orbiter offer thrills that might be a bit intense for the little ones. Haunted Mansion Also, don’t forget about the nostalgic joy of reliving your childhood on rides like Peter Pan’s Flight or Pirates of the Caribbean. At the end of the day, Magic Kingdom is a playground for all ages, so embrace it and dive into the fun! Magic Kingdom Those were just a few of the lies about Magic Kingdom that you thought were true, and we’d love to hear more from you! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. 4. It’s been a tough month for airlines as delays and cancelations have been hitting airports around the world. Orlando International Airport A global IT outage caused tons of delays and cancelations in July, making air travel difficult for nearly a week. Now, as Tropical Storm Debby nears Florida’s coast, more delays and cancelations have begun at Orlando International Airport (MCO). One airline in particular has been affected the most. STORM UPDATES A Step-by-Step Guide to Hurricane Cancelation Policies and Refunds in Disney World How to Handle the Worst-Case Scenario During Hurricane Season at Disney World The BEST Hurricane-Ready Hotels in Disney World 6 Items You Need For a Hurricane in Disney World Join the DFB Newsletter to Get All the Latest Disney News Delivered Right to Your Inbox! Click Here to Subscribe A hurricane warning is in effect for Florida as Tropical Storm Debby begins its route to Northern Florida. While the path of the hurricane doesn’t go directly near Orlando, the city and Disney World may see its effects. As the storm gets closer, MCO has begun to see hundreds of delays and cancelations. Around 11AM on August 4th, there were a total of 183 delays and 95 cancelations with the numbers increasing continuously. ©FlightAware At one point in the morning, there were over 200 delays, but as those flights ended up being canceled, the number of cancelations grew as the delays slightly declined. However, both delays and cancelations are continuing to increase. Southwest Airlines happens to be the airline with the largest number of both delays and cancelations followed by American Airlines then Delta Air Lines. ©FlightAware At this point, we can’t say for sure that weather is the cause of these delays and cancelations in Orlando, but the airport has shared on X that you should continue to monitor your flights and check with your airline for the most up-to-date information. Receiving text updates or downloading your airline’s app are great ways to stay updated with any flight changes. The tropical storm is expected to be upgraded to a hurricane by the time it reaches the Florida Big Bend. Gov. Ron DeSantis has activated the State Emergency Operations Center along with the Florida National Guard and State Guard. Tornadoes warnings have been issued for much of the state. Regardless of if you are traveling in the path of the storm or not, high winds, rain surges, and tornadoes may occur. ©NHC Southwest Airlines has issued a travel advisory for several parts of Florida due to the weather. This means to expect delays, changes, or cancelations to your flights if you’re traveling with Southwest. The following cities are part of the travel advisory: Ft. Lauderdale, FL (FLL) Ft. Myers, FL (RSW) Miami, FL (MIA) Sarasota/Bradenton, FL (SRQ) Tampa, FL (TPA) West Palm Beach, FL (PBI) While Orlando is not listed, we would recommend being prepared for flight changes at MCO as well. 5. D23 2024: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is just around the corner! D23 is almost here! This huge Disney event will begin on August 9th in Anaheim, California, and will feature Disney executives, panels, entertainment, and TONS of announcements. At these big events, we typically expect some exciting news from the company. We may hear about new lands, new rides, new shows, new entertainment, and so much more. While this is what all of us Disney fans get excited about each year, it may be important to point out that not ALL these announcements always come true. Here’s a list of six announcements from past D23 events that we have yet to see come to life, and why some of it might need to be taken with a grain of salt. Mary Poppins Ride in UK Pavilion Back in 2019, a Mary Poppins attraction was announced for the UK pavilion in EPCOT. The experience was supposed to let you “step in time down Cherry Tree Land past Admiral Boom’s house, then enter Number 17, home of the Banks family.” Mary Poppins attraction concept art However, this attraction never came to fruition. In 2020, Disney postponed the Mary Poppins attraction indefinitely, and we haven’t heard any word of its return since. This would have been a really cool addition to the UK pavilion and given guests another attraction in the World Showcase, but unfortunately, it appears it won’t be happening, at least not anytime soon. Reflections Hotel Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge was a Deluxe resort set to be built at the old location of Disney’s River Country near Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. The name of the resort was announced at the 2018 D23 event, and we were all excited to get this beautiful hotel in currently unused space in Disney World. Reflections ©Disney However, since that announcement, we haven’t heard much about this resort and construction never started on it. BUT, we did see that a permit was renewed for the location of this hotel in 2023, so it’s possible that this hotel isn’t off the table, but has just been put on the back burner for the time being. PLAY! Pavilion The PLAY! Pavilion was announced to be added to EPCOT during its massive transformation. The plan was for it to take over the Wonders of Life Pavilion and become a “digital metropolis” that featured interactive experiences, games, entertainment, hands-on activities… AND favorite Disney characters, both virtual and real! ©Disney || Play Pavilion Concept Art Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley had previously shared about the PLAY! Pavilion: “This innovative, new pavilion is beyond anything we’ve ever created and is completely unique to Epcot. Built on the power of play, it introduces an immersive and interactive ‘city’ where you can explore, create, and interact with some of your favorite Disney characters. This is an experience worthy of our bold vision for Epcot — and another signature element of our transformation.” PLAY! Pavilion Concept Art ©Disney The PLAY! Pavilion was previously even designated on the EPCOT map, but in January 2023 it was silently removed. Disney has not commented on the status of this pavilion or if ever will become a reality. Villains Land in Magic Kingdom At the 2022 D23 event, Disney had started talking about the potential plans to do a Magic Kingdom expansion. During that time the idea was still a “Blue Sky” idea (more on that later), and not confirmed. One of the ideas for the new land then was to do a Villains-themed land! A Villains-themed land?! Now we know that an expansion is coming to Magic Kingdom beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, but Disney has yet to confirm what the land will be. As excited as many of us were for a Disney Villains land, that idea has not been talked about much since the initial announcement. However, Disney did announce a new Heroes vs. Villains cruise ship — the Disney Destiny! Moana Land in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Disney’s Animal Kingdom is getting a BIG overhaul of Dinoland U.S.A. The Dinosaur-themed land is going to become one themed for the Tropical Americas. However, before the Tropical Americas were confirmed, there was an idea for a Moana-themed land! Moana land concept art for Animal Kingdom The original concept art for the Animal Kingdom re-theme showed Moana’s boat with the Heart of Tefiti symbol on it. This was the first idea that Disney proposed for the Dinoland makeover, but it did not become the end result. Blue Sky Projects Blue Sky projects or Blue Sky ideas are ideas that Disney and the Imagineers propose that may or may not ever become reality. Sometimes they turn into amazing new experiences, but often they get scrapped before they leave the drawing board. An example of this is Beastly Kingdom which was supposed to be added to Animal Kingdom, but the project was scrapped and now Pandora sits in the place instead. Concept Art for the Beastly Kingdom ©Disney A lot of the ideas that we’ve seen scrapped or no longer talked about such as the Moana and Villains lands were Blue Sky ideas. Disney ended up changing its mind or decided to go in a different direction. It’s all part of the creative process to bring us all new and innovative attractions and experiences. We’ll likely hear new Blue Sky ideas at the D23 event coming up, and that’s exciting because we get to see an inner working of the Imagineers and the company. Who’s ready for some BIG news?! So even if we don’t see all the big announcements become a reality, it’s cool to see what new ideas Disney has for the parks! We could be in for a wild ride at the upcoming event. 6. It’s snack time! Disney Springs It’s no secret that Walt Disney World is a bastion of delicious snacks. Between the resort’s 4 theme parks, resort hotels, water parks, and a major shopping center, there are almost too many options to wrap your head around. However, our favorite under-the-radar option may be located at Disney Springs. The snack we adore? The Made-To-Order Artisan S’mores at the Ganachery. These gooey-gooey snacks feature thick marshmallows – – torched to order – -along with melted chocolate and a thin layer of salted caramel ganache. All of which is stuffed between two super-soft, house-made, white chocolate-covered graham crackers. House-Made S’more Occasionally, the restaurant has offered seasonal and specialty s’mores flavor covers including strawberry and holiday versions. Valentine’s House-made S’more Honestly, the whole delicious concoction makes us drool like Homer Simpson, which feels appropriate since he’s now a Disney character. House-Made S’more at The Ganachery S’mores of course aren’t the only devious dessert available at The Ganachery. The establishment offers “an array of tantalizing treats made from scratch—using Old World chocolate-making techniques as well as modern technologies. Each blissful bite is carefully crafted with high-quality ingredients, like fresh cream, real vanilla beans and custom chocolate blends—including a single-origin dark chocolate from the Dominican Republic.” Some of these items include ganache pops, chocolate piñatas filled with treats, chilled chocolate beverages, citrus bites, Mickey milk chocolates, and toffee crunch. House-Made S’mores Beyond all of that, there’s also the ganache squares that give the establishment its name. Currently available flavors include orange, caramel Fleur de Sel, coffee, chipotle, cinnamon, Egyptian sea salt, Gianduja Italian hazelnut, coconut (plant-based), raspberry, passion fruit, milk chocolate, vanilla, 66% dark chocolate, peanut butter, mint, and pistachio. Ghost Piñata The made-to-order artisan s’mores available at Disney Springs Ganachery may be our favorite dessert on Disney property, and we can’t recommend giving this house-made treat a try enough. 7. Disney Cruise Line is hard at work creating brand-new ships for us to sail away on. ©DisneyCruiseLine Two new ships are currently in development — the Disney Treasure and the Disney Destiny. The Disney Treasure has been getting built at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany since January 2023, while the Disney Destiny is only in the beginning stages of the process. Now, there has been a monumental update on the Disney Treasure’s construction in Germany! On August 3rd, the Disney Treasure was officially moved out of the building at Meyer Werft Shipyard to the shipyard harbor! Minnie Mouse introduced the ship to many spectators who stood cheering as the ship floated out of the building. ©Disney With only 3 feet of wiggle room on either side of the ship, a tugboat pulled it out through the narrow doorway. ©Disney Now that the ship is in the harbor, it will receive the finishing touches to its interior venues. These venues include a Haunted Mansion Parlor, a Jungle Cruise lounge, the Periscope Pub, stage areas for live shows, several restaurants, kids clubs, and more! ©Disney The Disney Treasure, which will take its Maiden Voyage with passengers on December 21, 2024, will be the sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. While the Disney Wish is known as Disney’s “Castle on the Seas,” the Disney Treasure will celebrate “Walt Disney’s lifelong love of adventure,” as announced in September 2022 by Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro. ©Disney The Disney Treasure will have itineraries for the Eastern and Western Caribbean that include stops at Disney’s Castaway Cay. This new ship sounds like it is going to be tons of fun! You can head over to the Disney Cruise Line website to book your next cruise on the Disney Treasure. ©Disney We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more updates on the Disney Treasure as it gets closer to making its transatlantic journey to Florida. 8. We are still in the midst of hurricane season in Florida. Magic Kingdom entrance on a rainy day in 2023 We’ve been following the development of a tropical storm for the past few days, which has now become official. When large storms hit Disney World, they take the necessary precautions to ensure guest safety and continued entertainment. This latest storm may become a hurricane as it nears the Florida coast. Tropical Storm Debby has become official and is likely to affect the state of Florida. By Monday, the tropical storm will likely produce hurricane conditions along the Florida Big Bend region. A hurricane warning is in effect and tropical storm conditions will begin this evening Sunday, August 4th. ©NHC According to the National Hurricane Center, heavy rainfall will likely result in flash and urban flooding across northern Florida through Friday morning. Georgia and South Carolina may also see severe and widespread flash and urban flooding as well as river flooding. ©NHC Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has activated the State Emergency Operations Center due to the incoming storm. The Florida National Guard and Florida State Guard are both “activated to support humanitarian assistance and search and rescue missions.” In a tweet, DeSantis reminds everyone that strong winds, storm surges, and tornadoes can occur before landfall, and outside the forecasted “cone.” This means that while Orlando and Disney World may not be directly in the path of the hurricane, they will likely be affected by heavy rains and storms. Storm in Disney World If you’re flying into Florida, be prepared for flights to be delayed or canceled over the next several days. Keep an eye on your flight’s status and keep in contact with the airline if changes need to be made. We also suggest having proper rain gear with you as you head into the parks. Ponchos, umbrellas, and shoe coverings are great for navigating rainy days in Disney World. 9. Every week, we report the average Disney World wait times in every park so that you can be prepared for your next trip to Orlando! This week saw an interesting pattern develop, and we need to talk about it. EPCOT Three of Disney World’s four theme parks — Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios — all saw their average wait times decrease over the past week. However, Disney World’s fourth theme park — EPCOT — saw wait times go up? Is this an effect of the new Lighting Lane Multi Pass system? Take a look at this week’s average wait times — going from highest to lowest! Magic Kingdom Wait Times The Magic Kingdom park saw minor decreases in wait times this week. None were major (the largest was approximately 4 minutes) but still, it’s worth noting that Walt Disney World’s busiest theme park saw times drop. That said, Animal Kingdom was similar to Magic Kingdom in that nearly all of the park’s rides saw a small decrease in wait time. Overall, we’re noticing a pattern. 10. Aren’t you just itchin’ to set sail aboard the Disney Treasure? ©Disney When you think about this being the sixth (!!) ship coming to the Disney Cruise Line fleet and all that we’re going to experience, like the Haunted Mansion Parlor and Jungle Cruise-inspired bar, we’re just over the moon with excitement. But before we go off into the stratosphere, we wanted to dive in and share all we know about a particular lounge that’s got all of us ready to be a cat. That’s right. We’re talking about the Aristocats-themed lounge! Let’s go! In case you missed it, back at the end of June 2024, Disney announced that the Treasure will have a a jazz club-style lounge themed after the 1970 animated classic The Aristocats. That new lounge will be called the Scat Cat Lounge. ©Disney This new lounge takes specific inspiration from the film’s “Ev’rybody Wants to be a Cat” sequence. Those words will be immortalized with a black-and-white statement wall and a groovy neon sign with the lyrics right in the center of the lounge. DisneyParksBlog You’ll notice that many of the design cues for the lounge come from the Treasure’s Agrabah-inspired Grand Hall, like the complementary color palette and Middle Eastern décor that will “blend seamlessly” with the venue’s Aristocats theme. There are direct references to the film, such as a subtle “parade of silhouetted cats, all representing characters from the film” that “will welcome guests to Scat Cat Lounge at the entry and lead the way into the venue.” Also, Disney Shared that the lounge’s distinct carpet is inspired by the “ornate French style rugs scattered throughout Madame Adelaide Bonfamille’s swanky Parisian home.” ©Disney If you take a closer look at the lounge’s piano, you’ll see colorful paw marks in paint, which is a reference to the scene in the film where Toulouse leaves similar prints on a piano. ©Disney You’ll want to keep an eye out for other references to the film, such as a door handle modeled after Scat Cat’s “signature instrument” at the entrance, and hidden depictions of Roquefort, “the devoted mouse companion of Duchess and her kittens.” Disney isn’t going to just feature references related to the film in this lounge. They will also be including a poster outside of the lounge that will feature a group of cats playing instruments. But here’s the kicker — Disney shared that “Each cat depicted in the artwork will be drawn in the image of a beloved pet belonging to someone from the project team that helped design and build Scat Cat Lounge.” ©Disney The last thing we need to talk about are some of the drinks that will be on the menu — the Créme de la Créme Martini, The Cat Drink, and the Turkish Tea Experience. ©Disney The Créme de la Créme Martini is infused with cognac, chocolate and a nutmeg topping. The Cat Drink will have clarified bourbon, amaro, Aperol, and fresh lemon. The Turkish Tea Experience, is a tea-based cocktail for two or more guests. ©Disney Truly, we can’t wait to experience this brand-new lounge and all it has to offer! 12. One of the things about Disney World is that things are always changing, and new things are always right around the corner. Hollywood Studios For example, Splash Mountain closed and became a new ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Country Bear Jamboree recently got a new show. Test Track is getting a reimagining. So, a classic Disney ride getting updated isn’t a new thing. Now, some fans think that one ride in Disney’s Hollywood Studios may be due for a reimagining, especially with some news that just dropped recently. The ride in question is Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, which recently just came out of a long closure while some things on the ride were refreshed and updated. Now, the ride has an Aerosmith theme, which has been the theme since it first opened in 1999. However, according to The New York Times, Aerosmith is planning on retiring from touring. Aerosmith’s presence on the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster was a major change for Disney at the time. Last year, Aerosmith lead vocalist Steven Tyler suffered from a vocal injury, which postponed the band’s farewell tour. Now, the band says a full recovery is not possible and the band has officially retired from touring altogether. It’s truly sad news for rock fans, especially as Tyler is known as one of the best rock vocalists of all time. Who’s ready to rock n roll?! So what does this mean for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster? Well, the premise of the ride is that the roller coaster is taking to one of the band’s shows. So right now, that means the ride is already a little outdated. Also, we hate to admit it (because we feel so old), but younger generations just aren’t as familiar with Aerosmith as the rest of us. So the ride could be due for a big change. Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster Starring: Aerosmith We’ve tossed the idea out there into the universe, and it makes sense that Disney may be considering an update for the ride with a new theme. Of course, Disney hasn’t mentioned any such update, but maybe it’s time. Considering how focused the company is on IP (aka its own intellectual property), we wouldn’t say “no” to a Disney-themed version of the ride. In fact, we’ve had a lot of conversations about the ride becoming Muppets-themed, maybe revolving around the Electric Mayhem. Animal goofing off in Muppet*Vision 3D We’ve seen our readers make some good suggestions, too. A Powerline (as in A Goofy Movie) roller coaster would ROCK OUR SOCKS OFF, as would a Lilo & Stitch ride (how about a Hawaiian roller coaster ride?). Maybe it could even be themed to the very underrated Emperor’s New Groove and be themed around the crazy ride that happens after Yzma says, “Pull the lever, Kronk!” The possibilities are endless. Powerline Max at Jollywood Nights 2023 Of course, we’ll have to see if Disney does announce an upgrade, especially since it just spent a lot of time refreshing the current ride. We’ll be keeping an eye out for an announcement, though, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 14. Okay, so one thing we love about Disneyland food (and there is a LOT to love) is that we often see really interesting combinations. Red Rose Taverne in Disneyland For example, we’re still completely intrigued by the Pickle Corn Dog from Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs in Downtown Disney that comes with a peanut butter dipping sauce. Plus there are some really interesting flavor combinations happening in San Fransokyo Square at Lucky Fortune Cookery, where Mexican food meets Asian food: Birria Ramen? OKAY. Well, we’ve found a new combination that combines a cheeseburger with pizza, and, well, let’s talk about it. Meet the new Cheeseburger Flatbread at Red Rose Taverne in Disneyland. It’s made with Pickle Aïoli Sauce, Ground Beef, Grilled Onions, and Cheddar Cheese, topped with Demiglace and Pickle-Arugula salad for $14.99. Okay, we know what you’re thinking — that’s a LOT of pickle flavors — and you would be right. Cheeseburger Flatbread We thought the pizza was okay, but our reporter is NOT a big fan of pickles. So you gotta love the pickles to enjoy this, for sure, because you get that flavor in almost every bite. However, the pickle arugula was fresh and crunchy with a nice dill flavor. The meat was seasoned well, and we liked the slightly sweet extra meaty flavor the demiglace added. However, some bites are kinda soggy because of the aioli and demiglace. We also thought the pizza was a little greasy. Lots of pickle flavor In these photos, it might not look like there’s not a lot of meat, but believe us — it’s there. It’s just covered with all that cheese (which we have zero complaints about). This is certainly not our favorite Disney flatbread, though, and maybe a cheeseburger just shouldn’t be turned into a pizza. There’s a lot of meat in these We also made our way to Tropical Hideaway to try the new Char Siu Bao and side of Bao Sauce. The Char Siu Bao is made with Sweet sticky Roasted Pork, in a sweet BBQ Sauce dusted with Paprika for $6.49, while the side of sauce is $1.39. The bao itself has a nice sticky texture and sweet flavor. Char Siu Bao Inside, you’ll find warm, sweet pork. YUM. That pork is SO tender, too. The sauce has a brown sugar-like flavor and adds a nice sweetness when you dip the bao in it. However, this does pack a little heat, so it may not be the best snack for a hot day (and the sauce makes it even more spicy). Yes, this has a bit of a kick. The paprika on top just adds a light flavor, though. Lots of filling We also need to let you know that the Lumpia has also returned to Tropical Hideaway if you’ve been missing it. It’s a Lumpia filled with pork and vegetables for $9.49. We will always recommend this. It’s sort of like a spring roll with a warm and crunchy exterior and steamed fresh veggies and pork on the inside. Lumpia is back! If the Char Siu Bun is a bit too spicy for you, this is a better substitute because it doesn’t pack quite as much heat. So that’s our latest snack roundup from Disneyland. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 15. Last week we shared that a Disney World hotel refurbishment would be ending. Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort Unfortunately, not all refurbishments go as planned. Occasionally, Disney has to make adjustments to their timelines and that’s what we’ve seen for one food court at a popular Value resort. However, this restaurant is not the only refurbishment that will affect your Disney World trip the week of August 3rd through August 10th. World Premiere Food Court — Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort The World Premiere Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort has been undergoing refurbishment throughout July. World Premiere Food Court This food court closed for refurbishment on July 1st and was set to reopen on July 31st. However, a change on the Disney World website and speaking with Cast Members has indicated that did not happen. A Cast Member we spoke with said the construction is taking longer than expected and the food court likely won’t open until this fall or even later. While it has been getting a face-lift, guests have been able to mobile order from a limited menu on the Disney World app, and seating in the food court is still available. This makes two food courts currently undergoing refurbishment, but what else will be closed during your trip to Disney World this week? Keep reading to find out! Magic Kingdom Peter Pan’s Flight One of Magic Kingdom’s most popular rides closed for refurbishment on July 8th! Peter Pan’s Flight Entrance Peter Pan’s Flight will be closed until August 21st. While Disney hasn’t commented on the closure, a permit filed for the ride indicates some general construction. We’ll be keeping our eyes open for any more information concerning any changes coming to this popular ride! A Surprisingly Scary Ride Is Returning to Magic Kingdom Next Week Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade We had to say goodbye to an opening day attraction on June 23rd. Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade The Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade was around for generations and provided simple fun to all who played. Now, the attraction has closed to make room for a new Disney Vacation Club lounge. This lounge will be the third in Disney World, joining one in EPCOT and one at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Disney has not yet announced when the new lounge will open. Over 40 NEW Halloween Treats Are Coming to Magic Kingdom SOON Tomorrowland Terrace Tomorrowland Terrace is a quick-service restaurant that has been closed since the 2020 pandemic-related closures, but even before that, this spot was only occasionally open. Tomorrowland Terrace Once in a while, you’ll see the dining room open as a rest area (and it’s still being used for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties), but it’s usually all roped off and empty. Tomorrowland Terrace Disney hasn’t announced when this spot could finally reopen, but we’ll be watching for updates. If you’re looking for a nice spot to hang out in Disney World and sit down for a rest, this could be it! EPCOT Test Track Test Track closed on June 17th, and Disney is giving this ride a BIG makeover! Test Track Disney has shared that the new version of Test Track will take inspiration from the old ride, World of Motion, that was originally there when the park opened in 1982. Other than that, Disney hasn’t shared many other details about the project. We don’t even have a reopening date yet, but we’ll be watching for more updates. Restaurant Marrakesh Restaurant Marrakesh is currently closed as a dining location in the Morocco pavilion of EPCOT’s World Showcase, and there’s no word yet on when the restaurant could fully reopen. Restaurant Marrakesh However, it opens from time to time as a KidCot station and a lounge. So if you’re in the Morocco Pavilion, check it out to see if it’s open. We’re watching for updates on when the full restaurant could reopen! 3 Tips for Getting on the Guardians Ride at EPCOT FASTER Disney’s Hollywood Studios Voyage of the Little Mermaid Voyage of the Little Mermaid is currently closed in Disney World. We recently spotted some construction walls up at the show! Voyage of the Little Mermaid Disney is going to introduce a new, updated show in this spot, though it will still be themed to the animated movie The Little Mermaid! The new show will be called “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” and is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Fall 2024. ©Disney It will be a “fully reimagined theatrical production inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic.” It’s Rare That Anything Surprises Me Anymore, but This Hollywood Studios Addition Made Me Smile Blizzard Beach Blizzard Beach closed for refurbishment on March 17th. Blizzard Beach Water Park While Blizzard Beach is closed, Typhoon Lagoon is currently open. The two water parks often rotate off and on for being open. Disney has not announced when Blizzard Beach might reopen. We’ll be watching for any updates, though! Click here to learn all about Typhoon Lagoon Disney World Hotels Everything POP Shopping & Dining — Disney’s Pop Century Resort Everything Pop is amid its own refurbishment. Everything Pop Starting July 29th, Everything Pop will be getting some work done. The refurbishment is set to last until September 29th. However, while the work is being done, guests can still use the Disney World app to mobile order food. You may need to use alternate entrances to access the food court and seating may be limited. Barbados leisure pool The Barbados leisure pool will be closed at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort from July 29th through the end of September 2024. The pool is closed! This resort is organized into villages and each area has its own leisure pool. While the Barbados leisure pool is closed, check out one of the other several options around the resort! 18. A lot of things can happen that can impact your day in Disney World. For example, bad weather can close rides, cancel entertainment, and more (it’s also why we tell you to ALWAYS pack rain gear). Sometimes, rides have technical issues and close while those issues are fixed behind the scenes. Sometimes, things just happen, and we don’t know why, but something odd was going on in Magic Kingdom this morning, resulting in the cancelation of two cavalcades. Before our minds imagined the worst (okay, how can we not with the whole river of poop lore in Liberty Square), we also visited Frontierland and noticed that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was closed. Now, we’re not sure if these two things are related, but we’re just laying out that information for you. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed However, Cast Members did inform us that two cavalcades had been canceled this morning due to whatever this substance is, but that they were hoping that the Festival of Fantasy parade this afternoon would still go on. The only way it would not go on, we were told, is if it rains, in which case, we’d get the Rainy Day Cavalcade. Festival of Fantasy So in case you’re visiting Magic Kingdom today, things seem to be all set for this afternoon and back to normal. We’ll let you know if anything else comes up. 23. Disney World can have very odd rules. Pandora From balloons not being allowed inside of one of their parks, to the act of scattering ashes being banned (trust us, this is an actual rule due to it happening countless times), there are a ton of rules on the property that make you think “Well, that’s strangely specific.” Millions of people go to Disney World all year round and because of that, Disney has tons of rules in place to make sure safety is the number one priority for all guests (and even the animals living at Disney World!). Most of the rules we can assume were made due to Disney cast members experiencing certain things a little too often (*cough* spreading family member’s ashes at the Haunted Mansion *cough*) and realizing that, if the safety of guests and cast members are the main focus, then certain rules have to be implemented. Haunted Mansion And sometimes, as silly as the rule sounds, Disney still takes them very seriously, including this one very specific rule all guests must follow: children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by someone over the age of 14 to board an attraction. Specific? Yes. Important? Very much so, and this is a rule that you might want to plan around. TriceraTop Spin Although not as well known or as peculiar as some of the other rules we’ve mentioned before, this rule for riding attractions is important to ensure the safety of all riders. If you’re a single parent heading to the parks with two children, both under the age of 14, it’s important to note ahead of time that your kiddos are sadly unable to ride in a vehicle together unless you are with them. But, that doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on any rides or experiences if that’s the case.
