Disney CEO Bob Iger has been focused on making Disney’s streaming profitable, and Disney+ has increased by 6 million subscribers since his return. ©Disney But, part of that process means saying goodbye to a series here and there. In fact, we’ve already seen quite a few cancelations so far this year — and another show is joining the list. Another Disney+ series has been canceled — this time after only one season. Renegade Nell will not be coming back to Disney+, Deadline has reported. ©Disney The series follows an 18th-century outlaw in England and was written by Sally Wainwright. Apparently, the show did not meet the threshold for renewal based on Disney’s metrics. ©Disney So far in 2024, Disney has canceled multiple shows before the first half of the year is even done. Below are all the shows Disney has canceled this year so far. The Spiderwick Chronicles (this show was canceled before it even aired, but was saved by the Roku Channel!) The Good Doctor (ABC announced that this show’s 7th season would be its last) The Other Black Girl (just recently canceled on May 10th, this show only got one season on Hulu) Death and Other Details (also from Hulu, this show only received one season before it was canceled in March This Fool (another Hulu show that got two season before its cancelation in February) Secrets of Sulphur Springs (a Disney Channel original show, it received 3 seasons before being canceled in January) American Born Chinese (based on a graphic novel, this series was canceled in early January after only one season) Renegade Nell is the latest show to join this list. ©Disney In the meantime, we’ll be sure to keep an eye out for more canceled shows we think you’ll want to know about! Disney World Annual Pass Annual Passholders get lots of perks throughout the year such as discounted event tickets, discounts on food, exclusive events and souvenirs, and free magnets. Let’s be honest, we Annual Passholders LIVE for the free magnets Disney gives out. They’re fun to collect and they’re always so cute! They’re handed out in the parks while supplies last, and the lines can be SUPER long. So we have some great news for all you Annual Passholder magnet lovers out there — Disney has just teased a NEW magnet coming soon! About a week ago, Disney announced on the Annual Passholder Instagram page that new passholder exclusives were on the way. New PhotoPass props, new snacks, and a NEW magnet were all shown on the post. The announcement also featured Animal Kingdom and several references to The Lion King. ©Disney Now, Disney has released a little teaser video on Instagram about the new magnet that will be released soon. The video begins with what appears to be Timon’s arm reaching in to uncover a savory dish. ©Disney As soon as he lifts the lid, you see tons of grubs that seem to also be from The Lion King. These grubs look like the same ones that Timon introduces to Simba when Simba first meets Timon and Pumba. ©Disney Then as the grubs scurry away, we can see the message “New passholder magnet coming soon!” ©Disney Many people in the comments think that the next magnet might feature Pumba, which would be a fun addition to the magnet collection. However, it seems that there could be the possibility of Timon or Simba as well based on the references. We’ll be watching to for confirmation from Disney who will be featured on the new exclusive item. Sometimes Disney makes some decisions that leave many of us scratching our heads. Magic Kingdom Remember that octopus drink that Disney World offered for the 50th Anniversary? Yeah, that was…weird. Then there have been some controversies with menu items when Disney removed popular foods and replaced with them something subpar (Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom, we’re looking at you). Sometimes, though, Disney fans are loud enough that we think Disney MUST be paying attention because things do occasionally change after public outcry. First, we have to say that we’re not 100% sure our opinions have ever really changed Disney’s mind about anything. But we have seen some fans making pretty strong requests and saw changes shortly after that. So we’ll just leave it at that… Hush Puppies Okay, so we were literally SHOCKED when we noticed that Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom had taken hush puppies off the menu. Like they were just GONE. It was surprising because the hush puppies were a popular item. Like WHAT WAS DISNEY THINKING? Hushpuppies However, it didn’t take long before the hush puppies RETURNED to the menu, and we’ll just say it happened right after a lot of Disney fans complained about their disappearance. Do not mess with the hush puppies. We Witnessed a Snack MIRACLE in Magic Kingdom, and You’re Gonna LOVE This Update Spiked Kakamora Float We decided to work with a Cast Member to create a special float: the Spiked Kakamora Float. This was basically a DFB hack at the Barefoot Pool Bar at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Our experiment created a drink made with Parrot Bay coconut rum, pineapple juice, piña colada mix, and blue curaçao. The Original Spiked Kakamora! Let’s just say this drink was so tasty that SOMEONE at Disney decided to permanently add it to the menu at the bar! Disney added Dole Whip to it and renamed it The Voyager. The DFB Spiked Kakamora Float is OFFICIALLY on the Menu in Disney World! ‘Ohana Noodles ‘Ohana Noodles…we love them, you love them, EVERYONE loves them. However, back in 2019, Disney removed them from the ‘Ohana menu and replaced them with…fried rice. We’re just going to quote Clueless here: AS IF! There is no comparison. When ‘Ohana reopened after Disney World’s closure in 2020, the noodles were still nowhere to be seen. We love the ‘Ohana noods After going through a roller coaster of emotions, we were thrilled to see the ‘Ohana noodles returned to the menu at ‘Ohana in 2021. FINALLY. We know popular these noodles were, and we think maybe Disney had a lot of requests for their return. There was a brief scare with a noodle shortage in late 2021, but for now, our precious noodles remain. I Worked at ‘Ohana in Disney World, and I’m Spilling the BEST Dining HACKS Advance Planning for Genie+ Replacement Before Genie+, FastPass+ (which was free) allowed Disney World guests to book several FastPass selections BEFORE their trip. When the paid Genie+ was introduced, along with Individual Lightning Lane, that was not an option, and it was one of the biggest complaints we think we’ve seen about the FastPass+ replacement. Pirates of the Caribbean Lightning Lane Recently, Genie+ was replaced by Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and the Individual Lightning Lane option was replaced by Lightning Lane Single Pass. Now, you can purchase both in advance and make three ride selections (based on ride tiers, similar to the old FastPass+ system) AHEAD of your trip: seven days in advance for Disney World hotel guests and three days for everyone else. The Biggest Lightning Lane Mistake Rookies Will Definitely Make In Disney World Harmonius Barges Disney introduced a new EPCOT show for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, Harmonious. The show featured these gigantic barges and a Stargate-looking contraption that stayed out on World Showcase Lagoon during the day. Many Disney fans thought the barges were unsightly and ruined the view. Harmonious barges Harmonious eventually closed and the new EPCOT show, Luminous The Symphony of Us, has structures that do not sit in the middle of World Showcase Lagoon all day. We’re not saying the barges were gone because of all the complaints, but they ARE gone. The BEST and WORST Spots to Watch Luminous in EPCOT Happily Ever After Disney also changed up the nighttime show in Magic Kingdom for the 50th Anniversary. The much beloved Happily Ever After fireworks went away and were replaced with Disney Enchantment. Needless to say, a lot of folks complained, having deemed Happily Ever After the superior show. They were not enchanted at ALL. Disney Enchantment It wasn’t clear that Happily Ever After would return after the 50th Anniversary, but it did, and Disney made it even better by adding projections on Main Street, U.S.A. (something the Disneyland nighttime fireworks shows have had for some time). There was a lot of demand for the return of this show, so we think that helped Disney make the decision to bring it back. HUGE Crowds Showed Up for the Return of Happily Ever After Fireworks in Disney World Figment Meet and Greet Disney World fans are OBSESSED with Figment, who is basically THE symbol for all things EPCOT. When the first Figment Popcorn Bucket released, people stood in line for HOURS to get their hands on one, and the whole ordeal sparked (see what we did there?) a Figmentnomenon. They demanded MORE Figment. And they got him: EPCOT added an actual Figment meet and greet. Figment! The first day Figment started meeting with guests in EPCOT brought crowds and long lines, but these days, the wait is generally pretty short. The Biggest Tip You Need If You Want To Meet Figment in EPCOT Free Parking at Hotels Disney World offered free overnight self-parking to guests staying at Disney World hotels up until 2018 when it decided to start charging for that parking instead. So something that had once been free no longer was (sound familiar?). Needless to say, many Disney World fans complained because it was yet another perk being taken away from those who chose to stay at Disney-owned hotels. Hotel Parking Lot In 2023, free overnight self-parking returned to Disney World hotels. At the time, Disney shared, “This is a Disney difference many of you have asked us to bring back, and we’re happy to reintroduce it to make your vacation a little easier and more affordable.” Everything You Need To Know About Parking In Disney World Liberty Tree Tavern Mac and Cheese When we recently had a meal at Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom, we were shocked about a change of its Mac and Cheese recipe. The mac and cheese we had was NOT the same and tasted like something right out of the box (now, don’t get us wrong, the box mac and cheese can slap, but that’s not what we want in Disney World). Disney has been quietly switching out its mac and cheese throughout the resort. Mac & Cheese However, we recently returned to Liberty Tree Tavern and spoke with a Cast Member, who informed us the old mac and cheese recipe was back because there had been so many complaints about the new mac and cheese. However, this is the only location that has since switched back to the old recipe of those that have changed. Where To Get Thanksgiving Dinner ALL. YEAR. LONG. in Disney World So does it pay to complain? Yes, it seems it does, although we would recommend that you be respectful when you do choose to complain. Cast Members aren’t the ones making these decisions, after all. Still, it seems to help make your voice heard, even when it comes to Disney. Do you visit the pool at your Disney World Resort? Or do you prefer to relax in other ways? Fuentes del Morro pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Depending on what time of day you visit, the Disney World hotel pools can get very crowded! With people trying to cool off from the parks midday or taking a rest day at the resort, using the pool is a very coveted amenity for many. However, now it seems Disney is having to crack down on some pool rules. At Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, wristbands are now required to use the Fuentes del Morro pool. That’s the main large pool at the resort, located next to the lobby. Fuentes del Morro A Cast Member will be located near the pool entrance to check guests as they come in, and you’ll need to prove that you’re staying at Caribbean Beach Resort for your family to receive wristbands to enter the pool area. As far as Cast Members knew, this change is here to stay at Caribbean Beach. The pool area The pool was closed for weather when we stopped by, but the way that this wristband system has worked in the past at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts is that you’ll need to scan a MagicBand or room ticket in order to prove your reservation. If you’re trying to swim at Caribbean Beach, it’s probably a good idea to bring one of those items along with you. The purpose of the wristband system is to keep people from “pool hopping” who aren’t staying at the hotel. When we shared a video of the changes with our Twitter/X followers, we received mixed responses in the comments. Some are thrilled about this change, while others are upset about Disney “limiting” access to pools. (Keep in mind that the “no pool hopping” rule has been around for a while, this is just Disney World cracking down on it a bit more.) Caribbean Beach Others in our comments noted that they hope Disney starts doing this for all Deluxe Resort and/or Moderate Resort pools. Caribbean Beach was likely chosen because of its ease of access via the Disney Skyliner. Skyliner at Caribbean Beach Some people argued that Disney should open all pools to all on-site guests, however, this method would likely cause chaos and heavy crowds. We’d end up seeing empty pools at Value Resorts and overcrowded pools at Deluxe Resorts. Those who paid to stay at the nicer hotels would not be able to easily access the amenities they paid for. If you’re honest, you’ll agree that most of us feel some type of way about the construction projects at Disney World! Cinderella Castle stage refurb We love Disney and all, but just about everywhere you look some type of construction is happening, and for some of them, they seem to take forever to complete. It’s that situation that got us thinking about Disney’s construction timelines and we wanted to pick your brains to find out how you felt about them! Well, we asked and you delivered! We reached out to our followers on Facebook to ask: “Does Disney take too long to construct its new rides, restaurants, hotels, etc.?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments! What do you think? Now, let’s dive into some of your top responses! The “Yes and It’s a Problem” Camp First up, we’ve got a solid group of you who think that Disney’s construction timelines are getting out of hand. Communicore Construction — mid-December 2023 To this point, DFB reader Laura, talking about the new CommuniCore, shared, “Yes, it took way too long for what it offers.” And she’s not alone. Shawn chimed in by comparing Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and TRON Lightcycle Run and shared, “I would say so. Tiana’s came up pretty quick, but just look at how long TRON took. Remember how long it took for the original Test Track to be finished.” Tiana’s Bayou Adventure construction — mid-April 2024 Then we’ve got Charlotte, who brought the comparison to Universal Orlando by adding, “Universal has built a whole theme park in less time than it took to revamp EPCOT. Even with Covid, and according to the local news, they are ahead of schedule.” Last up, we’ve got Luke who mentioned, “Yes! In the same time Disney builds a clone of a ride they have in another park (that itself still has issues and breaks down), other theme parks including Universal have a whole new unique land/hub open with flawless rides.” The “No, They’re Doing It Right” Crew Next up, there’s a sizeable group of you who think Disney is doing just fine with their timelines. Construction First up, DFB reader Laura shared, “For the resort hotels and rides, I can see how safety, comfort, and luxury would take a long time to construct properly.” Karen echoed that sentiment by giving props to Disney’s commitment to quality by saying, “I don’t think so. The Disney quality shows in everything they do! Kudos to those talented Imagineers!” Then Doug added, “No, they take as long as it takes to get everything completed safely.” Island Tower under construction. We have Steven wrapping this one up reminding us about the payoff of these long waits with, “I don’t think so. The new attractions are so awesome and over the top. It takes time for perfection. If they pulled it off any quicker, it would be at the expense of theming on the ride and in the queue. Look at the Ratatouille attraction compared to Cosmic Rewind. Ratatouille has no theming until right before boarding.” The “It Depends” Squad Lastly, we have the group of you in the middle ground when it comes to the timelines. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind construction — mid-March 2022 For example, we had DFB reader Jessi share, “To me, it depends on the project. With Tiana’s, it’s the same exact ride system so I feel like it could’ve been switched over rather quickly. But with something like Cosmic Rewind, it required a complete overhaul with new tracks, new tech, and everything in between. Prepare to set sail! The Disney Destiny | ©Disney The Disney Cruise Line’s latest ship is ALMOST ready to leave port, and now we know when and where the fleet’s newest addition will make its grand debut. In addition., we’ve seen some of the BRAND NEW features of the eighth ship in the Disney Cruise Line’s expanding fleet. As with the other ships of the Disney Cruise Line, the Destiny will feature Disney’s well-known rotational dining, as well as themed lounges, other restaurants, and other food spots! Disney just announced a brand-new dinner and a show is coming to the Disney Destiny! Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King will bring the amazing songs and story to life while you and your family enjoy dinner. Classic music from the movie’s soundtrack, fun, new mashups, and the story of Simba will be performed live by musicians in full The Lion King costume. ©Disney Next up, a new sweet shop has been announced for the Disney Destiny! Edna A La Mode Sweets will transform Edna Mode’s super suit factory into a brand-new and unique confectionery. The shop is inspired by the short film Auntie Edna and will repurpose her sewing equipment into sweet-making devices. You’ll find handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies, and specialty treats in the shop along with statues of Edna and Jack-Jack. ©Disney Last, but certainly not least, you’ll find two new walk-up cafes off the Grand Hall of the Disney Destiny. Café Megara and Café Merida will feature favorite characters and themes from Hercules and Brave. Hey, Merida! At this time Disney has not mentioned menus or dining options at Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, Café Megara, or Café Merida. We’ll be watching for more info! Disney Cruise Line just announced yet ANOTHER new ship the Disney Destiny. Like the Disney Treasure and the Disney Adventure wasn’t enough. Look at all the patches! Now, we’re getting the first REAL details about the Disney Destiny, including details about a NEW family dining experience themed to The Lion King and additional dining options on the ship! Well, we’ve got even MORE details to share with you, and these details are all about the rooms on the new ship! The Disney Destiny will make its maiden voyage in 2025, and before now, all we had were the ship’s theme, Heroes and Villains, and some clues that left us scratching our heads. However, Disney has finally dropped more details about the ship, including what kind of rooms it will have. ©Disney | Disney Destiny Concept Art Disney shared that the Destiny “will offer spacious, comfortable and functional staterooms that uniquely meet the needs of your family” and will feature “Disney Cruise Line’s signature split-bath concept, and many will offer the option of a connecting door between staterooms.” Disney Destiny’s one-bedroom concierge suites will draw guests into the mysterious and fantastic world of Disney Animation’s “Fantasia” through elegant, watercolor-style artwork. Concierge guests will also have access to exclusive areas and amenities, including a concierge lounge and private sun deck. ©Disney There will be spacious common areas… ©Disney …and themed rooms. This one looks like it’s all about The Incredibles. Disney storytelling soars to new heights inside seven special concierge oceanview rooms located directly above the bridge. In addition to a premium level of service, these specially-themed staterooms pay tribute to Pixar’s “The Incredibles” with distinctive iconography and floor-to-ceiling windows that look out to sea. ©Disney Those who book Concierge rooms suites will get the same level of attention and service, plus access to exclusive areas and amenities — like a concierge lounge and private sun deck! And, the suites will be themed after Hercules and The Incredibles! In royal suites of heroic proportions, guests on the Disney Destiny will be empowered by epic stories to embrace their own destinies. Celebrating the majestic powers and noble heroism at the heart of Disney Animation’s “Hercules,” the Hero Suites will be inspired by the film’s Greco-Roman architecture, colors and patterns. ©Disney Just look at how spacious this Hercules themed dining room and living room spaces are! Do you enjoy hanging out in the Disney World parks after hours? After Hours at EPCOT Disney offers special After Hours events on select nights at select parks. The normal After Hours events are open to everyone; you just need a specially priced ticket. They include shorter wait times for rides, complimentary snacks, and fun entertainment. This year’s After Hours events in EPCOT over over, but did you know there is a SECRET after-hours event happening in November at EPCOT? The 2024 Food & Wine Festival begins soon! The Global Marketplace food booths will open on August 29th and run through November 23rd. Along with this annual fall festival is the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, which invites you to run through the Disney World Resort. ©Disney There are four races ongoing throughout the weekend of the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, but they are currently all sold out. However, there is one event over the weekend of November 1st through the 3rd that is NOT sold out and it involves visiting EPCOT after hours! EPCOT The Post-Race Party takes place in EPCOT on November 3rd, 2024 at 10:00PM, but ticket holders can get into EPCOT as early as 5PM! This party, for friends and family, offers extra time in the park with access to the Food & Wine Festival Global Marketplaces, lower wait times for EPCOT attractions, and even live entertainment. Get your tickets now for the Post-Race Party! Typically, EPCOT After Hours tickets cost $149+, but a Post-Race Party ticket is only $110! Registration for the party began on March 12th, but there are still tickets available. This year, not only does the part celebrate the racers, but also 15 years of the Wine & Dine race weekend. It’s a fun time to celebrate! After Hours at EPCOT You can head to the runDisney website now to register for this after-hours party event in EPCOT. There is limited availability, so if you’re interested in participating in the party, grab your tickets sooner rather than later. Race weekends are a blast if you’re participating, and this is a great way to do just that. Tickets for the Post-Race Party are included in the runners’ Half Marathon or Challenge registration. CommuniCore Hall Lights If you’ll be in Disney World before August 29th and want to visit a park after hours, the Hollywood Studios After Hours events are still going on on select nights! Happy Halloween! No, it’s not too early — it’s Halloween and we’ll take no arguments against that right now. Halloween Time Now that spooky season has arrived, we are so excited to start seeing the Halloween decorations beginning to pop up in Magic Kingdom. We’re even MORE excited about all the Halloween snacks that are coming to Disney World parks, hotels, and Disney Springs. Bring on the SPOOKY food! But the spookiest thing that might be arriving soon (as in NEXT WEEK) is returning, too. The first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is on August 9th in Magic Kingdom, with the parties running through October 31st. With the arrival of that party, though, comes one of the SCARIEST rides. It’s Space Mountain, but a version of Space Mountain that is in COMPLETE darkness with a spooky soundtrack — and you can ONLY ride this version of Spooky Space Mountain during the party! Spooky Space Mountain However, Space Mountain isn’t the only attraction getting a Halloween theme during the party. Mad Tea Party will get some special spooky lighting effects and overall creepy vibe. Mad Tea Party Halloween overlay Meanwhile, you can listen to some special exclusive Halloween jokesters at the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, ONLY at the party. Disney World does quite a few refurbishments throughout the year! Caribbean Beach Resort From ride closures to hotel room updates to things like gift shop facelifts, we often see construction equipment out and about when wandering around the property. And now, we’ve got a refurbishment update for one popular resort! Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is a pretty massive property, and because the resort is so spread out, there are multiple pools for guests to use. However, if you’re staying there soon, your selection may be limited. Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort As of Monday, July 29th, the Barbados Leisure Pool is closed, and Disney says that it will remain closed through the end of September. We stopped by to check it out, and the gate was blocked and construction crews were working inside. The pool is closed! During this closure, you can use the main pool at Caribbean Beach Resort, which is the Fuentes del Morro pool near the lobby. The other four leisure pools are also open for business at this time. Construction at the Barbados pool However, if you’re heading to the Fuentes del Morro pool, keep in mind that Caribbean Beach is currently requiring wristbands for guests who want to enter the pool area. This is to ensure that those using the pool are actually staying at Caribbean Beach. When we spoke to Cast Members, they seemed to think this change would be here to stay. We look forward to all of Disney World’s seasonal events! The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival We love all of EPCOT’s festivals and the Halloween and Christmas parties that are thrown every year. Our patience is tested as we wait for Disney to release all the information and details for each of these seasonal events. And while we have been twiddling our thumbs waiting for the full menus for this year’s Food & Wine Festival and more info on the holiday parties, we happened to spot a couple of brand new webpages that Disney added that may give us some clues about these events! We recently noticed that Disney added a new webpage for CommuniCore Hall. There is now a CommuniCore Hall Show Kitchen website! ©Disney When Disney first announced the building of CommuniCore Hall, they mentioned that this would be a festival headquarters location where there would be kitchen demonstrations. This is similar to the old EPCOT festivals when these demonstrations took place with live chefs and mixologists. Now, it seems that it is likely that we will be getting some kind of show or demonstration, and perhaps it will happen for the Food & Wine Festival that begins in August! Disney hasn’t confirmed this yet, of course, but we have our fingers crossed. EPCOT Food and Wine Festival 2023 On this website, there is also a menu listed. However, there is nothing listed on it at this time. We’ll be watching to see what might pop up! But this new Show Kitchen page was not the only new page we spotted! Jazzy Holidays is a holiday club available at The Hollywood Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios during Disney’s Jollywood Nights. Last year, there was a mobile wait list and advance reservations weren’t available. And trust us, it was TOUGH to get it; you had to be QUICK! Jazzy Holidays inside The Hollywood Brown Derby 2023 But now, we have spotted an all-new page dedicated to Jazzy Holidays, and there is a message to “Check back starting in early September 2024 for details on how to book Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby.” Is this a hint that this year we’ll be able to make advance reservations for this special club? In fact, the website also says “Reservations Strongly Recommended!” ©Disney We hope that reservations will be accepted this year to make it easier to get into this exclusive club. However, we bet you’ll still need to be quick to grab one of those reservations! Tickets for Disney’s Jollywood Nights are on sale now, so head to Disney’s website to grab yours so you can get a reservation for this Jazzy Holiday club. Disney World is in a constant state of change, and that means that construction is inevitable. While sometimes inconvenient, construction usually leads to even better experiences once it is done. Pop Century Resort A beloved Disney World hotel is adding construction walls to its decor beginning today and we headed over to check out what the construction looks like! Construction at Disney’s Pop Century Resort officially began today. Pop Century’s food court, Everything Pop, is scheduled to undergo construction from July 29th through September 29th, 2024. Everything Pop Shopping & Dining The food court is expected to remain open during the construction, however, there may be disruptions to the entrances of the food court, and seating may be limited throughout the construction. Guests are also asked to use the Mobile Order option in the My Disney Experience app to place their orders for food and drinks. Signage at Pop Century Resort While we were at Pop Century, we also took a look to see if the food court menu was impacted at all. Everything Pop is offering a more limited menu during the construction. While the menu is a bit more limited there are still plenty of options including burgers, salads, pizza, sandwiches, and more. Although it does look like they are not currently offering their old plant-based options which included an Impossible Burger and a Plant-based Tuna Sandwich. Kitchen Area during construction Inside of Everything Pop food court you can definitely tell that the area is undergoing construction. The only areas that are accessible inside are the Mobile Order pick-up area, beverage station, utensils stations, and most of the indoor dining. Everything Pop Food Court Construction While most of the indoor seating is still available for use, the main food court serving area is behind construction walls. As a result, you will need to Mobile Order your food and drinks from Everything Pop. Construction Walls There is a new pick-up area inside of the food court. From what we could see, the main impact of the construction will be in the serving area. Guests will still be able to Mobile Order food and drinks and utilize the dining area to eat. Mobile Order Pick-Up Area While Everything Pop is undergoing construction, the Fast Forward Arcade is offering a Grab ‘n’ Go area. You can grab a variety of snack foods throughout the day. From 7AM until 11AM you can grab breakfast items including bagel sandwiches, pastries, yogurt, overnight oats, and more. Breakfast Grab ‘n’ Go Options Then, beginning at 11AM until 10PM, you can choose from a variety of snacks including whole fruit, cheese cup, pastries, cookies, brownies, vegetables, and more. Grab ‘n’ Go Options Additionally, you can find an assortment of other snacks, including cold drinks and pre-packaged Disney snacks. Snack Options at Fast Forward Arcade There are even some frozen treats. There isn’t much that a good ‘ol Mickey bar can’t fix! Frozen Treats in Fast Forward Arcade There is also additional seating located in the Fast Forward arcade where you can eat or just relax. Seating Area in Fast Forward Arcade The construction is expected to last until September 29th. While you can definitely tell that construction is going on, the hotel is definitely trying their best to still provide a good selection of dining options. We loved that they opened up a Grab ‘n’ Go area inside of Fast Forward Arcade and are still providing the option to Mobile Order from Everything Pop. We will continue to keep a watch on the construction to see if anything more changes as they continue! Mobile Order Pick-up in Everything Pop Disney’s Pop Century Resort is a value resort that just so happens to be located on the Disney Skyliner. So even though you can still get food and drinks from the Pop Century food court, you can always jump on the Skyliner to grab food from a different resort or theme park. The Skyliner has stops at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Or you can take a quick walk over to Disney’s Art of Animation Resorts for even more options. So, you’ve just landed at the Orlando International Airport (MCO). How are we getting to Disney World? Orlando International Airport When you’re thinking of your transport options, you’ve got the classic options like taxis, Uber/Lyft, or even the “dreaded” airport shuttle and we haven’t even considered renting a car. But you’ve got another option to consider (no I’m not talking about the Mears Connect bus). Have you considered booking an SUV? Hear me out now. Let’s talk about it! Now, why would I talk about booking an SUV from the Orlando Airport? There are MORE benefits to staying at a Disney World hotel these days! Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter With offerings like the Disney Dining Plan and the option to book your Lightning Lanes 7 days before your vacation, there are definitely more perks to staying at a Disney Resort than there used to be. But coming in 2025, there will be a NEW offering…and we’ve got a way to hack it! Disney World announced a while back that in 2025, those staying at Disney Resorts (including Disney Vacation Club properties) will receive FREE admission to a Disney World water park on their check-in day. You’ll be able to use this perk at either Blizzard Beach Water Park or Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and only on your check-in day. Saratoga Springs Currently, this benefit is only offered to those with check-in dates from January 1st to December 31st, 2025, but we’ll be on the lookout in case that changes in the future. The perk is subject to availability, and to get the free admission, all those hoping to use the ticket must be listed on the hotel reservation. Wilderness Lodge The complimentary admission will apply to whichever water park is open at the time, as Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon will continue to have staggered annual refurbishments. The website says, “Guests should be able to enjoy at least one water park experience year-round.” Typhoon Lagoon Water Park But what if you want to REALLY take advantage of this perk next year? Well, we’ve got a hack for you! A Disney Cast Member recently confirmed for us that if you have a split stay in 2025 (you’re splitting your Disney World vacation between two different hotels), you’ll be able to use the complimentary water park admission on BOTH of your check-in days. Grand Floridian Resort So for example, if you check into the All-Star Movies Resort on a Sunday, you can use your water park admission that day. But if you check out of All-Star Movies and into Port Orleans — Riverside on Wednesday, you’ll be able to go to the water park AGAIN on Wednesday. Disney’s Riviera Resort — deluxe That’s a pretty great deal, and a good option for those who want to split up their trip! Swapping hotels is usually a good time to take a day off from the regular parks, so why not drop off your luggage at the new hotel and head to the water park instead? Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort We’ll be interested to see how this new offering changes the crowd levels at the water parks in 2025 and how it affects the resorts. Severe weather can happen at anytime and it is always a good idea to be prepared in case something happens. ©Dollywood On July 28th, 2024, Dollywood experienced severe weather that impacted their operations. Luckily, no one was severely hurt and the park plans to reopen soon. Dollywood was impacted by a strong thunderstorm that caused flash flooding in the afternoon on July 28th, 2024. The park experienced lots of flooding and many guests took to social media to show the flooding. Dollywood workers and Pigeon Forge Police and Fire Departments assisted guests during the storm and at this time only one minor injury was reported according to a social media post by Dollywood. ©Dollywood The theme park is committed to helping guests whose vehicles were affected and they are currently working on cleaning up the park as well. As of yesterday evening, Dollywood was hoping to reopen at noon on Monday, July 29th. Dollywood was responding to comments three hours ago saying that they were still on schedule to re-open at noon. Dollywood is located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and was recently named the number one Amusement/Water Park for 2024 by TripAdvisor, as well as the number eight theme park in the world. The theme park was developed by Dolly Parton in collaboration with the Herschend family and opened in 1961. Call us Marvel News Blog instead of Disney Food Blog because we’re bringing you everything you need to know about the latest bombshell announcements! ©Marvel The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding with new Avengers films, villains — you name it. It all came to a head this past weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, where Marvel execs and celebs joined together on stage to drop some seriously huge news, including just who will be playing the villain in the next installment of the franchise. Let’s get into it! Just when he thought he was out, those checks pulled him right back in. Probably. Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) — this time, as Doctor Doom/Victor von Doom. The actor — who played Iron Man in the MCU — is returning for the latest film, Avengers: Doomsday, which will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo who are also returning to the franchise. via Variety Downey took to the stage at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend to don a new mask and help make the announcement, which you can see below. According to Variety, Downey had recently said in interviews that he’d be open to returning to Marvel, which most fans took to mean he’d want to return as Iron Man/Tony Stark. Ultimately, though, the fandom was shocked by the announcement. Iron Man at Disney California Adventure Oddly enough, though, this isn’t the first time Downey and Doom have been paired up. Before he became synonymous with Iron Man, he was actually once considered for the role of Doctor Doom in the original Fantastic Four franchise. Iron Man director (and Happy Hogan actor) Jon Favreau revealed in a past interview that, “Robert had come in for a general [meeting] on [‘Iron Man’] and [Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige] had already met with him for Doctor Doom or something.” ©Disney Avengers: Endgame featured the death of Iron Man, an emotional exit of a beloved character. But, with the MCU focusing more on the multiverse — it’s possible we could see some sort of Tony Stark variant as Doctor Doom. There could be another explanation, though — one that also already exists in-universe. In a comic book issue of What If? Iron Man: Demon in an Armor, there is a universe where the Tony Stark from Earth-11029 switches minds with Doctor Doom. There’s a lot more to the story, of course, but we don’t want to reveal any potential spoilers. Do you keep updated on everything going on in Disney World? Because there is a LOT going on right now. Main Street Railroad Station Two new restaurants are under construction at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. The Canada Pavilion currently has some construction happening in EPCOT. A huge Magic Kingdom expansion is on the way. At some point, DinoLand, U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is getting a re-theme. And that’s just the stuff Disney has announced so far! Of course, the Disney World website does its best to keep you updated, and right now, there are three warnings you might notice. Disney’s Pop Century Resort The first warning we’re seeing on the Disney World website is on the page for Disney’s Pop Century Resort. The page for the hotel announces that the Everything Pop Food Court will be undergoing refurbishment from July 29th through September 29th. It also states that the food court will remain open, but that guests at Pop Century will need to use Mobile Order on the My Disney Experience app to order food and drinks. ©Disney There’s also a sentence about guests possibly needing to use alternate entrances to the food court and how seating may be limited. Learn more about this refurbishment Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort If you look up Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort on Disney World’s website and then click on the “Recreation” tab, you’ll see a new warning message on that page, too. The warning informs guests that the Barbados leisure pool will be closed from July 29th through September 2024. Barbados Leisure Pool Closure However, guests staying at the hotel are free to use the four other leisure pools at the resort, as well as the Fuentes del Morro feature pool. Here’s more about the pool closure Upgrade your app One of the most recent announcements we noticed was on the My Disney Experience app. We received a message on our iPhone that to take advantage of the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass(which has since gone into effect), we would need to upgrade the app. ©Disney This is a very important reminder if your app hasn’t been updated recently and you’re visiting Disney World soon. If you plan on purchasing Multi Pass or Single Pass, you will need the most recent version of the app. Learn more about this app upgrade See? Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has been open in Disney World for a few weeks now, and while we’re still waiting for an opening date for Disneyland, we can say with full confidence that we’re fans of the ride.
