Disney World will be undergoing several HUGE changes in the next few years. Dinoland, U.S.A. Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom will all be getting new lands with new attractions. DinoLand, U.S.A., in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, has been a cult-favorite land since its opening with the park in 1998. The land was designed as a roadside carnival, complete with rides and attractions you would likely see at your local fair, but with a dinosaur theme. Famous Disney Imagineer and Disney Legend Joe Rhode is known for his work on the land, but soon it will be going extinct. Disney announced that a new Tropical Americas land will be taking the place of DinoLand, U.S.A., and here’s when you can expect this 22-year-old land to be demolished from the park. Work on the new Tropical Americas land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom was announced to begin in the fall of 2024, so it’s likely Disney has already begun behind-the-scenes preparations. In fact, we’ve seen permits filed for the area hinting at this. While Disney may have already started some work, the rides and attractions are currently still open as of writing (December 9th, 2024). But the attractions and restaurants in DinoLand will be closing in waves for construction to begin. The Boneyard Disney recently announced that the first round of DinoLand closures will begin on January 13th, 2025. The last day to experience TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures will be January 12th, 2025, and then we can expect to see construction walls go up shortly after. Knowing this, we can likely say that DinoLand’s “demolition” will begin on or around January 13th, 2025, with the closures of these attractions. TriceraTop Spin The rest of DinoLand is still currently safe. No other closure dates for the remaining attractions and restaurants here have been announced. However, Disney did recently share that you can still ride Dinosaur and “get that dino” through 2025, hinting that this popular ride will be closing sometime in 2026. Dinosaur It appears that different areas of DinoLand will begin demolition at different times, but the first wave of construction that we’ll likely see and/or hear will begin with the first round of closures in January. That means you have around a month or less to get to DinoLand to experience those attractions that will be closing first to make way for the new Tropical Americas land. After the first attractions close, you’ll still be able to experience Dinosaur (through 2025), the Boneyard, Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites. DinoLand, U.S.A. While many will miss DinoLand, U.S.A., the new Tropical Americas land will bring all-new experiences to Animal Kingdom. Pueblo Esperanza, the official name of the new land, will include an Encanto ride, an Indiana Jones ride, and a new carousel. ©Disney || Tropical Americas Land coming to Animal Kingdom The new Encanto ride will feature the Madrigal family and begins just as Antonio receives his special gift of speaking to animals. His room transforms into a beautiful rainforest where you’ll go explore with him. And according to Disney, “You never know what member of the family you might bump into…” Knowing how biodiverse the Tropical Americas and rainforests are, this ride sounds like it fits right in at Animal Kingdom! ©Disney The Indiana Jones ride will be a new adventure ride, different from the one currently at Disneyland and other Disney parks around the world. It will feature a brand-new story following “the man with the hat” during a time when he has “recently discovered a perfectly preserved Maya temple, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time to explore it. He’s heard rumors about a mythical creature deep within the temple — and he’s got to see it for himself. So, he brings us along on the adventure… but will there be snakes? We’ll just have to wait and see.” ©Disney The new carousel will feature hand-carved animals that a “local woodcarver” sculpted from his favorite Disney stories. A carousel model of Kevin on display at the D23 Ultimate Fan Convention According to Disney, “The land feels lived in, with a long, rich history — plus there’s a large hacienda which will be one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort. The space will be lush and sprawling, featuring a large fountain in the center where the villagers like to gather and tell stories.” Pueblo Esperanza Concept Art ©Disney Disney’s Imagineers are taking inspiration from some of the most biodiverse areas of the world, including regions just north and south of the equator in the Western Hemisphere, including the northern part of South America, stretching up into Central America. If you’ve ever been to these parts of the globe, including Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, and more, you likely know just how many amazing creatures and cultures there are to take inspiration from for this new land. Pueblo Esperanza Market ©Disney Imagineers took research trips to Mexico, including the Yucatan Peninsula, to learn about the art, culture, and archaeology of the Maya. This information and the biodiversity of these parts of the world have gone into the plans for this new land. Disney has also begun focusing on incorporating more of its IP (Intellectual Property) into its parks, so the change from DinoLand to Pueblo Esperanza with attractions from several Disney movies makes sense to accomplish this goal. Model of the Casita ride It might feel sad to lose a piece of Animal Kingdom’s history in DinoLand, U.S.A., but the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza, will likely be a fun addition to the park that makes sense in terms of theming with the number of animals found in these parts of the world. We’re here aboard the NEW Disney Treasure cruise ship and bringing you all the ship details you could possibly want! ©Disney The latest addition to the Disney Cruise Line, the Disney Treasure is set to make its maiden voyage on December 21st, 2024, but we were invited to set sail a bit early aboard the new vessel! We were looking forward to experiencing everything the ship had to offer, but we ended up running into something we NEVER expected. Over the course of our journey, we’ve been experiencing everything and anything the Disney Treasure has to offer. Restaurants, lounges, theming, a boy band icon in a Deadpool mask… Wait, what? Yup, that’s right. One of our fellow passengers on this media preview cruise is none other than *NSYNC legend Chris Kirkpatrick. @karlyk5 instagram Kirkpatrick’s wife Karlyn has shared several snaps from the cruise on her Instagram stories, including an image of Kirkpatrick on the ship wearing a replica Deadpool mask (If you’ve seen Deadpool & Wolverine, you get it.). @karlyk5 Instagram We even spotted Kirkpatrick ourselves… Chris Kirkpatrick …several times during our voyage. Chris Kirkpatrick Like many of his boyband brethren, Kirkpatrick is no stranger to Disney, having spent part of his pre-fame years in the Orlando area. There are going to be some big closures in Disney World in 2025! Disney’s Animal Kingdom Next year, parts of DinoLand, U.S.A. begin to close as the land gets transformed into the Tropical Americas. Also, we have the scheduled closures of Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat as construction begins on the new Cars attractions for Frontierland. But what about seasonal refurbishments? Well, we’ve got some of those on the way too! The Disney World website has been updated to show that Kali River Rapids will close for its seasonal refurbishment on January 6th, 2025. It’s listed as temporarily closed through the end of the calendar, which currently goes out to mid-February. Kali River Rapids It’s not uncommon to see Kali River Rapids close during the winter months for maintenance. As a water-based ride, it typically requires more regular refurbishments than the dry attractions. We also noticed this phenomenon with Splash Mountain in the past, so we’ll be interested to see if Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has a winter closure in the future. Kali River Rapids These refurbishments typically only last a few weeks, and the rides often reopen before the busy Spring Break season kicks off in March. We’ll have to wait and see what the Disney World calendar says as we get more dates available. Kali River Rapids Perhaps the most interesting thing about this closure is that part of DinoLand is scheduled to close permanently on January 13th, 2025. On that date, TriceraTop Spin will close, as well as Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures and the Fossil Fun Games. This means that for several weeks, we’ll have multiple attractions closed in Animal Kingdom. Dinoland, U.S.A. So if you’re going to Animal Kingdom in January and February, you may notice higher wait times for the attractions that remain open, and heavier crowds throughout the park as there will be fewer spaces to disperse to. We’re interested to see how the DinoLand closures will affect Animal Kingdom in the long term. Thankfully, they’ll be permanently closing the land in stages to do construction. If there’s one thing that’s true about Disney World, it’s that it’s always changing. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad However, we’re also always changing with it. Our snack preferences change, our tolerance for extreme heat may be getting lower, and, of course, we get older year after year. We’ve found that a lot of the members of our team have really started to notice this as they visit the parks in recent years because a lot of our team is made up of Millennials. As much as it pains us to admit, we’ve started to run into a nearly irreversible problem in the parks. Although it pains us to admit, there are just some rides we can’t do anymore! While Mission: SPACE has always been high up on that list because, for most people who struggle with motion sickness, this ride has always been a no-go, we do have members of our team who used to have no problem with it, but as they’ve gotten older, they can’t even look at it. Mission Space Also high up on this list is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind for the same reason. We have so many members of our team who love this attraction because it’s truly so epic and unlike anything else in the parks, but that ride vehicle will get you! The ability to spin in an entire circle? Amazing for immersiveness, but negative twenty points for motion sickness. Cosmic Rewind Don’t get us started on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. We love this iconic ride, don’t get us wrong, and some of us are devastated that the Aerosmith theming will be going away forever, but others couldn’t care less because we can’t ride this one anymore, anyway. It doesn’t seem to matter how hard we press our head against the back of the headrest; our head still ends up being banged around and leaving us with a massive headache. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster In the same park, we’ll also throw Tower of Terror into the mix here because while it doesn’t whip our heads around, our stomach leaping up into our throat gets harder and harder each year because forcing it back DOWN becomes more of a challenge. Plus, as you get older, that thrill wears off a little bit for a lot of us. Tower of Terror Magic Kingdom doesn’t get out of this one unscathed either, because WOW, does Space Mountain need a refurbishment. We still love it, but our bodies don’t appreciate the jerkiness of each turn (and there’s A LOT of them). We often walk off of it and wish we’d pre-gamed with an Advil. If your back hurts when you look at this sign, you might be a Disney adult. Animal Kingdom only has one ride on this list for a lot of us, and that’s Expedition Everest. While the ride itself is quite smooth, the G-forces you feel rushing backward on the coaster is a lot and causes a few members of our team to nearly black out, so it certainly has earned its spot on this list. Expedition Everest The sad truth we’re starting to face is that a lot of these rides may not be in our future trips unless we take painkillers at the start of each day, and some are out of the cards altogether if we don’t want to ruin the rest of our day. The holidays in Disney World bring tons of exciting opportunities to the parks, but what about the hotels? Grand Floridian during Christmas There are some pretty spectacular gingerbread displays and Christmas trees spread around the Disney World resorts, which we absolutely love seeing each year. But that got us thinking about the hotels on Disney World property that aren’t owned by Disney — how are they celebrating? We found out firsthand that the holiday offerings over at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resorts are truly one of a kind, and we’re kinda obsessed with them! While the Swan and Dolphin Hotels may not be owned by Disney, Marriott has done a fantastic job bringing the holiday spirit to both hotels! You can see their festive lighting from far away, and that’s just the beginning. It’s beautiful! While these technically are two separate hotels, they’re connected, so it’s very easy to get from one to the other. If you’re looking for a special drink, you’ll want to stop by Chill to grab The North Pole special, which can be made nonalcoholic for $12 or alcoholic for $19. The North Pole The best part about this? Yes, you’re correct, it’s sold in a massive cup that looks like the leg lamp from the iconic film, A Christmas Story! We LOVE it! Over at the gift shop, you’ll find tons of exciting holiday items, such as festive headbands, plushes, and even Rudolph-themed rubber ducks! Holiday Merchandise You can even purchase a gingerbread house kit to make during your stay or bring home with you to make when you get home from your vacation. Buy a Gingerbread House kit! If you’re looking for a price point, you’ll be able to find this guidance sheet to help you keep track of the prices. All in all, for being on Disney World property, they’re not too bad! Price sheet There was also a cookie decorating station laid out nearby for us to decorate our own cookie, completely for free! Time to decorate! We also loved seeing the incredibly impressive Holiday Chocolate Display — yes, this entire thing was made out of chocolate! Similar to how the staff at Disney World hotels make their gingerbread creations each year, the Swan & Dolphin Resorts make a chocolate display to admire. Holiday Chocolate Display While we headed outside for the main event, we loved seeing the other decorations and fun interactive elements spread around the resort. So cute! Outside by the pool, you’ll find a meet and greet with the one and only Santa Claus, plus Mrs. Claus, and Candy Cane the elf! We made it! This experience was so fun, and while the line was a little long, it moved quickly. We highly recommend if you’re staying here — especially if you’ve got kids! Again, it was totally free. Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Candy Cane the Elf! So if you’re planning a last-minute trip to Disney World for the holidays, don’t count the Swan & Dolphin Resorts out! There are tons of holiday decorations all around, and you’ll likely pay less than you would at a lot of Disney World moderate and deluxe hotels. You’ll still get free transportation to and from the parks, and while you miss some amenities Disney World hotels provide, you’ll gain these holiday ones for the season! We’re here aboard the NEW Disney Treasure cruise ship and bringing you all the details you could possibly want. ©Disney The latest addition to the Disney Cruise Line, the Disney Treasure is set to make its maiden voyage on December 21st, 2024, but we were invited to set sail a bit early aboard the new vessel! And, right now, we’re taking you on a FULL TOUR of one of the stateroom types on the Disney Treasure. We’re experiencing everything and anything the Disney Treasure has to offer, so for all the latest comprehensive coverage and all the info you need to know about sailing on the Disney Cruise Line’s latest addition to its fleet, check out our guide below! Disney Cruise Line — The Disney Treasure Cruise Ship We’re going to take an in-depth look at a Deluxe Oceanview Family Stateroom with Verandah today! Let’s get into it. Time to enter our room! The first thing we noticed about our room was just how much storage space — and space in general — there was in here! The main closet was directly to the right as we entered, but other rooms may be different depending on where they are located. In addition to the closet, there was some open shelving over here. PLENTY of closet space Inside the closet, we found our life jackets plus plenty of hangers and space… Closet …along with a programmable safe for your valuables… Safe …and a laundry bag with an order form if you’d like to get laundry done while you’re on the ship. Laundry bag and laundry order sheet Opposite the main closet was the bathroom, which was also roomy and beautifully decorated. There’s a full-lenth mirror on the back of the door as well — something important when you’re on a cruise! Bathroom across from closet There’s a vanity area with one sink and large mirror… It’s pretty roomy! …along with a shower and tub combo… Shower/tub combo …and the ever-important toilet. The commode You’ll find totally-not-H2O-products attached to the shower wall including shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Totally not H2O products In the main living space, there’s a large desk with mirror and even more storage. Vanity area and more storage This is where you’ll find the room’s hair dryer… Hairdryer …and a beverage cooler for drinks and some snacks. Beverage cooler This is also where the couch and small table are located. The couch pulls out into an additional bed… Couch that pulls out into a bed …which you can see here after turndown service! Couch in bed form Next to the couch is a second, slightly smaller closet — but it still has PLENTY of space to store your things! Additional storage There are standard outlets throughout the room, along with USB-C ports for phone chargers and other items. Outlets There’s an additional bed that is stored in the ceiling, which can be lowered by your cabin attendants if you opt for it! We didn’t need ours this time around. A second bed can come from the ceiling if you opt for it! And, of course, the main bed features a gorgeous Casita mural! On our first night aboard the ship, our turndown service came with a festive peacock towel animal and some chocolates — and we’re certainly not complaining! One thing that is always consistent about Disney World is that things are always going to change. Let’s face it — that was what Walt pretty much said he wanted way back when he was working on Disneyland. Dreamer’s Point at EPCOT Well, a LOT of change has happened over the past decade, and some of the updates have been pretty controversial. We’ve gone from a free FastPass system to a paid Lightning Lane system. We’ve seen new rides being added to the parks while classic attractions got makeovers. We saw EPCOT undergo a massive transformation. Plus there are more BIG changes to come. So we asked you, our DFB readers, about the recent changes you’re not happy about, and you told us. Here’s what you told us when we asked you “What recent park changes are you not happy about?” Here’s what you told us. DAS Changes Many of you are unhappy about the changes Disney recently made to its Disability Access Service (DAS). Emily commented, “Gutting DAS so that many people with physical disabilities are now unable to enjoy the parks.” Beth agreed, “The changes in who is eligible for the DAS pass. There are people like me who actually need it who are no longer eligible.” ©Disney Nancy commented: “I’m hoping these draconian measures will and are being reevaluated. They claim to be available for very specific issues, but according to many, many posts of folks who are experiencing these new requirements, it seems arbitrary and cruel.” Maria said, “DAS- understood that some folks were abusing the system but the current system leaves many people with disabilities having to figure out if they should or can visit. It really needs to be researched more, and they need to listen to feedback in hopes of making adjustments.” Magic Kingdom Melissa said, “The narrowing of DAS benefits to be non-inclusive instead of just requiring an actual drs note. I’m sure people with actual disabilities wouldn’t mind handing over a note vs trying to explain themselves to someone who incompetent to judge disabilities over a video chat. Sometimes explaining yourself to someone is humiliating, and I feel terrible for those who go through this anxiety ridden process only to be denied.” 4 Changes That Recently Came To DAS Frontierland changes We’ll admit a lot of us were shocked when Disney announced that its new Cars expansion would be taking over Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island. This news also made many Disney fans unhappy. Thom said, “The destruction of Tom Sawyer Island and the riverboat. They’re missing an opportunity to enhance their reimagining of Splash Mountain.” Rivers of America Tara agreed: “I think that removing the river in MK is going to ruin the aesthetic by Haunted Mansion, take away shade and a nice get-away from the crowds. Lack of water and shade will make everything feel hotter as well.” Learn more about the new Cars expansion The Monsters, Inc. and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Changes Some of you were also pretty unimpressed about a new Monsters, Inc. land taking over Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios, while the Muppets take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Richelle commented, “Rock n roll roller coaster! I’ll forever be salty about that!! Meanwhile, Anthony isn’t happy about losing Muppets Courtyard, but is okay with the rest: “It’s a shame that Muppet Courtyard will be getting rethemed (that was Jim Henson’s last project). But I am happy that they’ll take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.” ©Disney According to Steve, “The loss of Rivers Of America, Muppets Courtyard and related activities, the loss of Aerosmith especially so soon after a refurbishment. But there’s more to be excited about than to mourn. Like Walt said, it will never be finished.” (Well said, Steve!) Here’s more about the new Monsters, Inc. land The waffle situation We’ll admit that we agree with the readers who mentioned the waffle switcheroo that Sleepy Hollow pulled on us in Magic Kingdom earlier this year. Our beloved favorite waffle snacks were switched out for new waffle snacks featuring Mickey-shaped waffles, and y’all — it is NOT THE SAME. Brian summed up our feelings: “Why isn’t anyone talking about the changes at sleepy hollow!!! Make waffles great again!” Sweet-and-Spicy Maple Chicken Mickey Waffle Laura added, “Not park exactly but still gutted that we no longer have fresh fruit waffle sandwiches or original chicken waffle sandwiches.” Mark commented, “The Sleepy Hollow chicken and waffle sandwich – bring it back!” Y’all, we get it. We really do. Here’s what happened to the waffles Other We had almost 100 comments and wanted to share more of what has made many of you unhappy. Aimee mentioned the early closing hours of Animal Kingdom: “Animal Kingdom’s early closing hours. I loved closing down this park when it was dark and the area by Avatar’s Flight of Passage was lit up with black light paint.” We remember, Aimee! We also remember nighttime safaris on Kilimanjaro Safaris, but those are a thing of the past now… P:andora was MEANT to be seen at night We also can’t forget the upcoming year-long refurbishment of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. That news has disappointed Pamela, who said, “Big Thunder refurb. We are going for our first time in Feb and were really looking forward to riding.” Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Frank was not having it with the EPCOT transformation and said, “Turning EPCOT’s future world into a planter.” Ouch. Yes, change is inevitable in Disney World, but it isn’t always going to be immediately embraced. But it does give us a reason to keep going back to the parks and discovering our next new favorite thing, right? Recently, Disney released a look at some of the NEW merchandise coming to the parks in 2025. Mini Mix-It Up first, the ADORABLE new line of tiny plush known as Mini Mix-Its. According to Disney, these “little characters are full of personality and come with removable hats that you can swap and mix with other Disney Mini Mix-Its for endless combinations and fun.” Seriously, we can’t get over how cute these are! In addition, each Mini Mix-It features a “handy strap” that allows them to be attached to a bag, making each Mini Mix-It as much a theme park aesthetic accessory just as much as they are toys. “Ear”esistible Vinyl Earhat Collectibles The latest in Disney’s catalog of vinyl collectibles, this new series puts a “fresh spin on one of Disney Parks’ most iconic accessories – the Mouse Ear Hat.” ©Disney Each vinyl ear figurine will honor one of Disney’s greatest moments beginning with the “nostalgic” Mickey Mouse Club Earhat. According to Disney, there are “…many more magical designs to come.” The Pastel Character Series This new collection of character-based accessories sees Disney bringing iconic characters “to life in the sweetest pastel shades all made from irresistibly soft faux-shearling fabric.” ©Disney Alice In Wonderland’s Cheshire Cat is the first character in the line, and we can almost feel how soft that backpack is THROUGH the photos. According to Disney, they’ll “turn to the fans to guess who’s next” as further drops happen. Winnie the Pooh Pin Collection Finally, 2025 is lined up to be a big year for Winnie the Pooh collectors thanks to this pin collection. Each month throughout 2025, a new pin of Pooh or one of his friends will “capture the lovable spirit of the Hundred Acre Wood.” Furthermore, the whole collection can be displayed in a frame featuring a map of the aforementioned Hundred Acre Wood, which will also be available for purchase. One thing that can make or break your Disney World vacation? Transportation! EPCOT monorail Depending on where you’re staying and where you’re going, there are half a dozen different methods of transportation for getting around Disney World. Some of them are fan favorites, while others are not as beloved. And perhaps the most controversial of them all is the Disney World buses. Disney World offers bus transportation to just about every main location on property, which makes it the most widespread of the complimentary transportation methods. Every Disney Resort comes equipped with at least one bus stop where you can hop a bus to the parks and/or Disney Springs. But if you haven’t been to Disney World in a while, there’s one critical bus BLUNDER you might make during your vacation, and we’re here to warn you! Disney Bus Before the pandemic, Disney World offered bus service one-way from the four Disney World theme parks to Disney Springs, starting at 4PM each day. This service would allow on-site guests without their own vehicles to easily get from the park they were visiting to Disney Springs, usually for a dinner reservation. Disney Springs However, since the parks and Disney Springs reopened, this bus has NOT been offered. You will also not find a bus going in the other direction (from Disney Springs to the parks). Why? Disney hasn’t stated for sure, but it’s likely because people were finding ways to abuse the system. Bus directory in Disney Springs You see, parking is free at Disney Springs, but it starts at $30 per vehicle, per day for the theme parks. In the past, many people have attempted to park for free at Disney Springs and then use various transportation methods to get to the theme parks without paying parking fees. In the end, it’s a pretty inadvisable “hack” because it takes up a LOT of time at the beginning and end of your day, and it’s complicated to accomplish. Orange Garage Also, there seemed to be a shortage of bus drivers for a while in Disney World (they were constantly hiring for that particular role on the Disney Careers website). And when bus drivers are in low supply, some routes have to get cut. The Disney Springs route from the parks likely wasn’t nearly as popular as other bus routes, so it’s possible that’s why it was put on the chopping block. Inside a Disney Bus No matter what the reasoning was, it’s important to know that you will not have access to direct bus transportation between the parks and Disney Springs during your visit. If you want to travel between the two places, you’ll either need to drive, get a rideshare, or first travel to a resort and then transfer to a different transportation option. Rideshare Pick Up Zone It’s important to factor in this travel delay if you’re planning a dining reservation at Disney Springs or you’re trying to get to the parks at a certain time after visiting Disney Springs. You can certainly get pizza in Disney World, but it’s not Pizza Hut — you won’t find one of those on property. ©Pizza Hut There are, however, lots of Pizza Hut locations around Orlando, as well as plenty of other fast food chains, so when you’re driving in or out of Orlando, you’ll have lots of options. Pizza Hut, as it turns out, is a very vital part of a lot of people’s childhoods, which is why we’re surprised to see so many people hating Pizza Hut’s latest announcement. And before you think this has nothing to do with Disney World, you’re half correct because one of these isn’t going to pop up on Disney World property, but we could see another version of Pizza Hut like this show up in Orlando if this first one does well. ©Pizza Hut Pizza Hut has just announced that it’s designing a new restaurant with a drive-through menu! The first of this design will be in Plano, Texas, and the drive-through option will be called Hut ‘N Go. The new restaurant will replace an older design of the franchise from 25 years ago. @foodbeast on Instagram The new concept will also feature pick-up cabinets for contactless pick-up orders, as well as self-serve kiosks. The items at the drive-through window will be “Ready Now” items, meaning they’ll be more generic options instead of customizable pizzas and sides. @foodbeast on Instagram So where does the problem come in? Well, it seems that many fans in the comments couldn’t care less about this option — instead, they want the Pizza Hut designs from the ’80s and ’90s AND for salad bars to come back. Others have basically said this is what Little Caesars has already offered for years, so it’s nothing too special. Disney Treasure Although it’s set to make its maiden voyage on December 21st, 2024, we were invited to take an early journey aboard the NEWEST addition to Disney Cruise Line — The Disney Treasure! We’re here bringing you in-depth coverage of everything this new ship has to offer, including the highly-anticipated Haunted Mansion Parlor. In fact, we found several secrets that will delight happy haunts and foolish mortals alike! The Haunted Mansion Parlor is themed after the famed attraction at the Disney Parks and is PACKED with little nods and fantastic Easter eggs. Aboard the Disney Treasure, the Haunted Mansion Parlor honors more than five decades of fandom and introduces the world to the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga. Guests will enjoy spooktacular, specialty cocktails themed to the classic Disney Parks attraction and its inhabitants, as well as a variety of Haunted Mansion details from around the world. (Kent Phillips, photographer) First up, we have the iconic Haunted Mansion Donald Duck Chair found in the corner of the room. This is no ordinary prop chair, as it actually has speakers behind it hidden in the wall! Occasionally, you can hear ghostly conversations and whispers. We heard the ghostly ghouls whisper “Something smells fishy”, “Shhh, they’ll hear you”, “Everyone stick together”, and “The party is about to begin!”, and joke about their transparency. Stick around on the chair and you might just hear some lively…or in this case, UNLIVELY…conversation! Incredible details Right next to the chair, you’ll find a small homage to the iconic Hatbox Ghost! On the side table, there’s an actual hatbox, which is a really nice and detailed touch. Hatbox Moving over to the shelf, you’ll find a bunch of neat little details. One of our favorites is the sheet music, which is usually blank unless the chorus of Grim Grinning Ghosts is playing. When this happens, the sheet music comes to life and the music and lyrics appear, glowing green to follow along with the song! You’ll also find Constance’s Hatchet and what appears to be her handwritten wedding vows. When illuminated by blacklight, the note reads “Til Death Do Us Part” in scary handwriting, a not-so-subtle nod to the Bride’s (allegedly) murderous ways. Tons of detail Another neat detail comes from the captain’s portrait. When the Ghost Host sings “Grim Grinning Ghosts”, you can hear his voice from the portrait, and his mouth moves along! When you hear a woman’s voice, the Medusa portrait moves and we see her sing. It’s a really cool detail that further adds to the ambiance. Captain’s portrait Another really awesome feature is that the portraits are always in motion. The movement can be subtle, which may throw you off if you look at a picture, look away, and then look back to see the image changed. Look at those details! One detail we weren’t expecting was the return of familiar characters but with different fates. Portraits feature characters from the Haunted Mansion ride, but they all have a different demise from their attraction counterparts. Haunted Mansion Parlor portrait The Haunted Mansion Parlor show is 30 minutes long, but Cast Members told us they recommend spending 45 minutes in the lounge. Part of the reason they suggest the extra time is that each show has unique quirks. For example, you might hear different sound effects based on where you’re sitting. The whole experience was designed to keep passengers entertained for seven nights, so the Parlor has plenty of ways to stay fresh. Haunted Mansion Parlor One secret we absolutely adore is a total callback to the ride. Just like the attraction, the windows aren’t real. They are faux-portholes looking out to thunderstorms, just like the ride. They even light up when lightning strikes! Aboard the Disney Treasure, the Haunted Mansion Parlor honors more than five decades of fandom and introduces the world to the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga. Guests will enjoy spooktacular, specialty cocktails themed to the classic Disney Parks attraction and its inhabitants, as well as a variety of Haunted Mansion details from around the world. A fun tidbit with this is you’ll see her hand adorned with several different wedding rings and a golden tap resembling the wood paneling from the ride. Spooky bar Finally, the last secret is hard to miss. The haunted fish tank serves as an homage to the original concept of the Haunted Mansion. The Disney team that brought the attraction to life was fascinated with the idea of a haunted fish tank since the 1960s and now it’s finally been realized.
