We could name SO MANY reasons why you might want to stay at a Disney World Deluxe hotel — there are just tons of benefits. Riviera Resort But if you ask us, one of the best perks is Extended Evening Hours, which allows folks exclusive time in select parks. Right now, folks can visit EPCOT and Magic Kingdom on select nights, but Disney just announced that Extended Evening Hours are coming back to Hollywood Studios and we’ve got all the details! Disney World offers Extended Evening Theme Park Hours for select guests, giving them extra hours in the parks! Unlike Early Theme Park Hours, Extended Evening Hours are offered only at one park per specific date. Right now, you’ll find this extra perk in EPCOT and Magic Kingdom, but Disney just revealed that Extended Evening Hours are coming back to Hollywood Studios! Tower of Terror We spotted the change on the My Disney Experience app, but it doesn’t appear as though the calendar on the website has been updated yet. People staying at select Disney World hotels can experience Extended Evening Hours at Hollywood Studios beginning on September 25th, 2024. ©Disney This means you’ll be able to ride the following rides! The Evermore Orlando Resort is offering a variety of options to make your Holidays even better! With Evermore to Your Door, Evermore’s culinary team will provide fully catered meals to your unit. There will even be special offerings for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. These meals will include options such as herb-crusted prime rib, sweet potato casserole, and apple pie. We got to see a few of the dishes you can get catered to your unit, and they look amazing! We spotted some Roasted Corn and Sweet Potato Hash. Look at how cute they are! Mini Apple Pies You can also purchase a seasonal decor package for your unit. These decor packages are designed by Our Comfort & Joy, a local Orlando company, and you can select packages for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or the December holidays. We got to check out some of the decor available with these packages, including Christmas trees in the bedrooms. Christmas Tree Decor You can also get your tables decorated, so you can enjoy your holiday feast in style! Additionally, you can add additional housekeeping services to your stay so you can skip the clean-up of your celebrations. There is multiple a-la-carte housekeeping options that you will be able to choose from. Table Setting While the Evermore Resort offers homes, flats, and villas ranging from 2-11 bedrooms, you can also book a hotel room at the Conrad Orlando which is located just across Evermore Bay. It’s certainly no secret that Disney World has gone through some significant changes lately — and more updates are on the way. Moana land concept art Disney has confirmed that a Dinoland U.S.A. re-theme in Animal Kingdom and a Beyond Big Thunder Mountain in Magic Kingdom are currently in the works, though they’ve been keeping the specifics of those projects pretty quiet. A while back, Disney filed a patent that led us to believe a potential Moana ride was in the works, and now we have an update! In 2022, we learned that Disney had filed a patent for a “Boat Motion Simulator.” The patent described a “system configured specially to impart boat-type motions (e.g., roll, sway, heave, pitch, surge, and yaw) to a passenger boat.” Not only that, but images from the patent led us to believe this ride was themed after Moana! ©Disney Essentially, this simulator would be able to create the actual feeling of boat-type motions, all while floating naturally and vertically supported by buoyancy in the water. ©Disney But, Disney has filed an updated patent that has since been published for a potential Moana ride named, “Guided boat with external discrete yaw control.” This technology would allow for boats to change viewpoints as they are propelled through the water. The images throughout the patent once again support the idea that this could be a Moana boat ride. ©Disney The new system would allow each ride vehicle to be pointed in different directions to view scenes they otherwise have missed with just one point of view. It could work similarly to how Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind does at EPCOT, but with a standard flume ride instead of a roller coaster. ©Disney And, although the standard flume system would still be used here, the direction the boats face would be controlled by an underwater track or guide, meaning that riders might not always be facing the direction the boat is traveling. ©Disney During the 2022 D23 Expo, Disney teased that a Moana-themed area could theoretically replace DinoLand U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but we’ve since learned that this expansion will actually be themed after the “Tropical Americas,” so it’s entirely possible this potential Moana attraction could end up in a different Disney park altogether. Are you ready to sail away on a Disney Cruise? The Disney Magic We recently sailed on the Disney Magic, and since we love the food on these Disney cruises, we wanted to bring you our review of Rapunzel’s Royal Table. Let’s dive right in! We love the food on a Disney cruise (it’s one of the best parts of the cruise!). On each of Disney’s cruise ships, there are three main dining rooms, which means that during your stay you get to enjoy rotational dining. In other words, each night of your cruise you rotate restaurants and your serving team rotates right along with you. It’s a fun and unique way for you to have different dining experiences on your cruise. Disney Magic As we said, we hopped on a cruise aboard the Disney Magic and its three dining rooms are Animator’s Palate (on deck four aft), Lumiere’s (in the lobby atrium on deck three), and Rapunzel’s Royal Table (on deck three aft). They’re all so uniquely themed and the menus match the vibes perfectly. For this post, we’re focusing on our time at Rapunzel’s Royal Table. Atmosphere First up, Rapunzel’s Royal Table is the Disney Magic’s newest restaurant. Guess what the theme is? It’s Rapunzel’s birthday and we’re all invited to the festivities! Rapunzel’s Royal Table As you make your way into the restaurant, some of your favorite characters from the Snuggly Duckling come by to greet you. Rapunzel’s Royal Table At the same time, you get to enjoy live music from the best musicians in the Kingdom of Corona. Rapunzel’s Royal Table It’s not just friends from the Snuggly Duckling. You’ll also see Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder as they show up! Rapunzel’s Royal Table If you’re a Tangled fan make sure to keep your eyes peeled and take in all of your surroundings. You’ll find a lot of nods to the film like some of Rapunzel’s paintings, and don’t forget to keep an eye out for that little rascal Pascal! Rapunzel’s Royal Table Now, let’s dive into the full course of offerings we tried there — the Pretzel Bread served with Mustard Dipping Sauce, Smolder Cocktail, Floating Lantern Cocktail, Corona Shrimp, Snuggly Duckling Platter, Ahi Tuna Tartar, Maximus Salad, Pan-seared Sea Bass Filet, Oktoberfest Lemon and Thyme Roasted Chicken, Captain of the Guards Roasted Prime Rib of Beef, Warm Braided Apple Strudel, Birthday Cupcake Sundae, Gothel Black Forest Tower, and Rapunzel’s Fry Pan Sweet Bread. Eats First up, our dinner started with a bread service which means we got to partake in Pretzel Bread served with Mustard Dipping Sauce (this is the featured bread at Rapunzel’s). In general, Disney pretzel bread can be a bit too tough on the outside, but this was a wonderfully soft kind of pretzel bread. Table Pretzel Bread served with Mustard Dipping Sauce Also, as someone who isn’t the biggest fan of mustard, we found the mustard sauce to be tangy (not overly) and quite creamy. It was a perfect pairing with the pretzel bread and 100% a match for the overall vibe of the restaurant. Pretzel Bread served with Mustard Dipping Sauce Next, we wanted to try two of the cocktails available here (sodas, juices, teas, and coffee are included, but you can also order specialty drinks for an extra fee). First, we tried the Smolder Cocktail. Smolder Cocktail Now this one was SUPER sweet. The elderberry helps a bit by adding some bitterness that cuts through. Overall, it was much more floral and the cotton candy flavor wasn’t the strongest. Not to be too dramatic, the taste was children’s cough syrup-like. Smolder Cocktail Next, we tried the Floating Lantern Cocktail. It had a fruity, peachy flavor, but was mostly Prosecco. If you’re a fan of Moscato, this might be right up your alley. Floating Lantern Cocktail Moving right along to the appetizers, let’s talk about the Corona Shrimp first. This was fire. We loved it. It’s a big piece of shrimp (ours was slightly overcooked) that had excellent bread crumbs that were paired well with a pea puree. Corona Shrimp There was also a potato wedge which was good, but overall forgettable. Overall, it’s quite a popular app and one you’ll definitely want to talk to your server about immediately, especially if you want seconds. Corona Shrimp Next, we had the Snuggly Duckling Platter (think a charcuterie board sans cheese). The portions of the platter were perfect. If you’re a fan of pumpernickel bread, this one was for you as it was soft and doughy. Snuggly Duckling Platter The prosciutto and salami were salty with just the right amount of fat. Also, the German mustard was rich and tangy and had a slight bite. Snuggly Duckling Platter Next, let’s talk about the Ahi Tuna Tartar. If you’re looking for an app with a delicious medley of flavors and variety, look no further than this one. It’s very fresh and subtly fruity (because of the mango and tangy veggies). Also, be prepared for the kick of wasabi. Overall, a delicious bite that works as a palate cleanser. Ahi Tuna Tartar As a side note, these kinds of appetizers are wonderfully refreshing since while you’re on a cruise, you’re constantly being loaded with food. Ahi Tuna Tartar Lastly, we tried Maximus Salad. Let’s just say, Maximus might be super excited about this kind of appetizer. The potatoes were flavorful. The cucumbers had a vinegar tang. Maximus Salad The carrots and greens lacked dressing. Overall, it was nice as an appetizer, but not very memorable. Next up, we’ve got the main course. Our first dish was the Pan-seared Sea Bass Filet (this is a Disney Cruise Line favorite!). It’s quite reminiscent of the Sea Bass from both the Disney Dream and the Fantasy. Pan-seared Sea Bass Filet Even though we love this dish, to be honest, it was kind of bland. It was cooked well and had a nice meaty texture, but the sauce was bland as well. Perhaps if there was more sauce it might have been better. We did enjoy the lemon flavor and the mix of vegetables in the dish as well. Pan-seared Sea Bass Filet Next, we had the Oktoberfest Lemon and Thyme Roasted Chicken, which was juicy and moist, but also a bit on the bland side. The au jus didn’t add much flavor at all. The potatoes while soft and salty with an herb flavor, were nothing to write home about. Oktoberfest Lemon and Thyme Roasted Chicken Overall, it’s a good meal for those looking for something not too adventurous (picky eaters should enjoy this). Hear us when we say it was BY FAR the BEST prime rib we’ve ever had on Disney Cruise Line. We were completely shocked by how good it was. Captain of the Guards Roasted Prime Rib of Beef It was incredibly juicy and flavorful. The twice-baked potato had a fun presentation, but for a baked potato, it didn’t have the flavor that we would’ve wanted. But, overall, this dish was amazing (definitely what we will be dreaming of). Captain of the Guards Roasted Prime Rib of Beef Now, onto dessert. Our first dessert was the Warm Braided Apple Strudel. Firstly, it was fine as a strudel, but nothing really special. It was an easy chew but tough to cut. If we had our choice, we would’ve traded more butter pecan ice cream over vanilla sauce because we all know how lovely a hot dessert is with cold ice cream. Warm Braided Apple Strudel Next, we HAD to try the Birthday Cupcake Sundae (it is Rapunzel’s birthday after all). This really was such a tasty treat!! We’re huge fans of how well the sweet ice cream and the raspberry syrup paired together. The cupcake was a bit dry, but who’s counting that. Kiddos, this one’s for you! Birthday Cupcake Sundae Onto the signature dessert — Gothel Black Forest Tower. This one was definitely rich and creamy (very cocoa-y). The fruit inside was an excellent complement to the chocolate as it was syrupy and tangy. We definitely enjoyed it, but it is quite rich and heavy. Chocolate lovers take note! Gothel Black Forest Tower For our final dessert, we called on Rapunzel’s Fry Pan Sweet Bread. We were a bit confused as to how to describe it as it was between pan dulce and a churro-like pastry. For us, it was a bit stale and tough. Rapunzel’s Fry Pan Sweet Bread That made it difficult to cut. The ice cream and chocolate syrup helped the dish slightly, but it just didn’t quite reach the heights of a perfect warm pastry and cold ice cream dish. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, just not great. Still, the presentation would be fun for the kiddos. Nosh or not… Check out Rapunzel’s Royal Table if… You just want food that picky eaters would enjoy. You love character dining and Tangled particularly. You’re a prime rib connoisseur because it’s truly out of this world. Skip out on Rapunzel’s Royal Table if… You’re not a fan of character dining. You’re looking for main entrees that pack a punch when it comes to flavor. You’re a dessert connoisseur and want to be amazed by every option. Overall Overall, we enjoyed these meals and we think you would too. There are some misses, but there are also some solid options. The Orlando International Airport is a common choice for travelers to fly through when traveling to Disney World. While all airports deal with delays and cancellations, we have a warning if you are flying through the Orlando International Airport today. Orlando Airport A ground stop has been issued for the Orlando International Airport today, July 16th, 2024. Update as of 2:30PM ET: the ground stop has been extended until 3:30PM ET. There is a 30-60% chance of extension past 3:30PM. Orlando International Airport is currently under a ground stop until 2:30PM ET (with a high probability of extension) due to thunderstorms. This ground stop affects departures to Orlando International Airport from certain areas of the country. ©Federal Aviation Administration Flights leaving from the red areas below are currently grounded and will not be able to depart for Orlando International Airport. Orlando International Airport has had 137 delayed flights and 10 canceled flights so far today, however, those numbers may increase with the incoming thunderstorms. ©Federal Aviation Administration The ground stop is currently set to expire at 2:30PM ET, but the message states that there is a high probability (greater than 60%) that the ground stop will be extended even further. The Orlando International Airport also posted a message on X/Twitter warning of a weather alert. The message stated that due to weather conditions, airline operations may be impacted. ©Orlando Airport on X We will continue to keep an eye on the weather conditions. While it is not uncommon to see Orlando International Airport impacted by weather such as thunderstorms, it can definitely be a frustrating experience if you are impacted by delays or cancellations. If you are currently in the parks or planning on being in the parks today, be prepared for potential weather. Make sure you have rain gear and be careful if you are traveling. We have our team in the Disney World parks EVERY day, and we see a lot of things. Chip and Dale in Dinoland! One of the things we see most often is families making “simple” mistakes that end up affecting the entire rest of their day, and sometimes even trip! We’ve seen people collapse from dehydration and/or heat exhaustion during the summer when they don’t listen to what their body is telling them, get on the Magic Kingdom Monorail thinking it’s going to EPCOT (and vice versa), and quite often, we see people of all ages walk right past the warning signs for a ride and hop on, only to MAJORLY regret it after. We asked our readers on Facebook what ride they’ll NEVER go on again, and we think you already know what the answer is. The number one answer, by a LONG SHOT, was Mission: SPACE in EPCOT. While Orange Mission was specifically mentioned more, which isn’t surprising since that’s quite the intense mission (those G forces REALLY feel like you’re taking off, and it was designed purposefully that way), Green Mission was also mentioned a few times for other reasons. Mission Space Green Mission is much less intense on the G-force side — you’re not headed all the way to Mars, you’re heading around Earth. However, the ride vehicle is the same, meaning you’re still tucked inside a tiny little “spacecraft” (not ideal for claustrophobia) and staring at a screen, which can still cause motion sickness. Mission Space is known for making people nauseous! Other readers found Orange Mission to be too intense, but Green Mission to be unappealing and boring, so there’s really no happy medium there. While it’s hard to tell how you’ll react to any ride you’ve never been on before, we are PLEADING with you — PLEASE read EVERY. SINGLE. RIDE. SIGN. Green or Orange? If you know you are prone to motion sickness, even just a LITTLE bit, or you have other health issues, it’s important to read all the ride warning signs before you get in line. This way, you know what to expect and you can make the choice to not ride out of safety/your general wellbeing for the rest of the day, or can still choose to ride and know that you may feel awful afterwards. Inside Mission Space That wasn’t the only ride mentioned though — there were a few runner-ups that surprised us! The first was Mad Tea Party — yes, the spinning teacups ride in Magic Kingdom. This ride isn’t for the faint of heart, aka anyone who even SLIGHTLY struggles with motion sickness. Not only do the teacups themselves have the wheel for you to control how you turn, but the whole ride itself spins you around, so for some, that double spinning (or just the single spinning) is a no go. Mad Tea Party Additionally, we had readers mention Space Mountain and Tomorrowland Speedway as runner-ups as well. While Space Mountain is a classic, its many years of operation mean it’s gotten a liiiittle rough. Many of our readers complained of being jostled around so much they walked off the ride with a headache, or that their body hurt for the rest of the day. Space Mountain As for Tomorrowland Speedway, its downfall is the SMELL. That gas smell is NOT pleasant and really never has been. Now that our cars haven’t regularly smelt that strongly for decades, most guests are far from used to it. Not to mention that when you’re driving them, the stop and start (depending on who’s in front of you) and the way the cars can never stay straight no matter HOW good of a driver you are really just make this ride a good fit for kiddos who can’t drive themselves yet. Tomorrowland Speedway Now, this is not to cast judgement on anyone! If you love these rides, that’s fantastic, and we hope you have the best time…we’ll just be watching from the sidelines. One of the oldest attractions in Magic Kingdom is getting a much-needed UPDATE! Carousel of Progress Carousel of Progress in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland has been through a few different updates over the years, with a pretty major one back in 2022 that brought updated outfits to many of the animatronic characters in the show’s various scenes. Now, another (but smaller) update has hit this popular attraction! Carousel of Progress opened in Magic Kingdom in 1975. The attraction takes you on a journey through the 20th century, showing the evolution of technology and how new inventions affected people’s lives! Carousel of Progress The show is set in a rotating theater; you’ll sit down, and then the audience is slowly rotated around the stage to the different scenes. Carousel of Progress The new update that is already partially finished at Carousel of Progress affects the theater’s seats. Previously, the seats were all this teal color. Seats at Carousel of Progress before the update Now, they’ve been updated to be various colors, including blue, red, orange, and green. Carousel of Progress Seats The seats also have a pattern on the back cushion now. It’s a retro-style design of starbursts. The seat cushion is still a solid color, and it matches the color of the back. Carousel of Progress Seats Although Disney used a retro pattern for the seats, we think this change makes them look much more interesting and less outdated! Plus they match the theme of the attraction now, too. Carousel of Progress Seats This update is only partially complete. Some of the seats in the theater are updated, but others are still that teal color. We’ll be watching to see when the project is completely finished. If you want to hop on the Carousel of Progress on your next trip to Magic Kingdom, you should be able to get on without much of a wait! The attraction usually has a short line (if there’s any line at all). It is not part of the Genie+ system, so there’s no Lightning Lane for it. Costco members can save big this week! ©Shutterstock Perhaps in response to promotions like Amazon Prime Days and Target Circle Week, legendary wholesale retailer Costco is introducing its own major savings event! From July 15th through the 19th, Costco is holding Member Savings Days, which will give Costco members access to even higher discounts than usual! ©Costco Currently, there’s only one Disney item listed as part of the event: a Kid’s 3-Piece Character Jersey Set that features Spider-Man, Mickey Mouse, and Marvel. However, given the fact that Costco consistently carries Disney merchandise and gift cards — including a brand new Halloween collection — it’s worth keeping an eye on to see if any other items are added to the sale as the days go on. ©Costco Interestingly, Costco has launched this new member-exclusive sale just days after announcing that membership fees are increasing for the first time in 7 years. Effective September 1st, 2024, annual membership fees for U.S. and Canada Gold Star (individual), Business, and Business add-on members will increase by $5 to a total of $65. In addition, annual fees for Executive Memberships in the U.S. and Canada will increase from $120 to $130 (Primary membership of $65, plus the Executive upgrade of $65). The price increase will come with an expansion of one per for the higher tier members however, as the chain added “the maximum annual 2% Reward associated with the Executive Membership will increase from $1,000 to $1,250.” According to Costco, these fee increases will “impact around 52 million memberships, a little over half of which are Executive.” Disney Halloween Decorations available at Costco This increase in fees comes at the same time that Costco has begun cracking down on non-members shopping at their locations. In 2023, the chain began requiring shoppers who use the self-checkout lane to provide photo identification that matches the Costco membership card they’re using to complete the transaction, matching the policy that had been in place at regular registers. At the time, the chain said in a statement, “We don’t feel it’s right that nonmembers receive the same benefits and pricing as our members.” Costco was founded by James Sinegal and Jeffrey Brotman in Seattle, Washington in 1983. The chain currently operates 882 warehouses, including 609 in the United States and Puerto Rico, 108 in Canada, 40 in Mexico, 33 in Japan, 29 in the United Kingdom, 18 in Korea, 15 in Australia, 14 in Taiwan, 7 in China, 4 in Spain, 2 in France, and 1 each in Iceland, New Zealand and Sweden. Okay, we’re just going to come out and say it: It is HOT in Disney World right now. Things are heating up — literally — in Disney World It’s summer in Florida, so OF COURSE, it’s hot. This year, though, we’ve already seen record-breaking temperatures, which means a day at the parks can be, well, sweaty and miserable. Now, we’re the first to make recommendations on ways to beat the heat while you’re in the parks (cooling towels, portable fans, staying hydrated, etc.), but we’ve got one surefire trick that always makes us feel better when we’re traipsing around Magic Kingdom on a hot day. Okay, so come with us as we take you through our favorite way to deal with the heat when we’re visiting Magic Kingdom. We’re heading down Main Street, U.S.A., and taking a left at the hub into Adventureland. While we’re walking, we’re placing a Mobile Order on our phone for Aloha Isle to pick up a nice cold Dole Whip treat. You’ll find Aloha Isle across from The Magic Carpets of Aladdin (beware the camels, though — they SPIT!). Aloha Isle Refreshments When we get there, we’ll let the app know we’re present and then go pick up our Dole Whip treat. It’s usually the Tropical Serenade because that’s one of our faves now. But sometimes, it’s just a plain old Pineapple Dole Whip, too. All that matters is that it’s a cold snack. The Tropical Serenade Float Then, we quickly head to the left. Do you know what’s there? Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room! Do you know where we’re going with this? We’re getting in line for the Tiki Room (okay, there’s rarely a line, but you do have to wait for the doors to open) and then we’re heading into the ice cold air conditioning of that delightful show with singing birds. Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room While all the birds sing and the flowers croon, we’re enjoying a cold snack in a dark and cold room for a full 15 minutes. There is no better escape from the Florida heat than in the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room. The Tiki Room Now, you may wonder if this is allowed, and we can confirm that, YES, you can take a Dole Whip into the Tiki Room — Disney has no problem with it. Disney’s Animal Kingdom There are many animals that call Disney’s Animal Kingdom home, and there is a new addition that you need to see. There is a 99.99% guarantee that this new addition will make you smile! A new Hartmann’s mountain foal has joined the zebra herd at Disney World. This new baby was born to second-time mom, Juno, and joins her sister, Cricket, out on the savanna. She is precious and we just had to share her with you! ©drmarkatdisney on Instagram The face, the ears, the eyes, there is so much to love about this new zebra foal. Disney hasn’t revealed the foal’s name yet, but are excited to learn what it will be. Are you planning to vacation at Disney World in 2025? Then you need to get up-to-date on this new hotel perk! Swan and Dolphin Changes are on the horizon for Disney World in 2025, and one of those changes could alter the way you go about your lodging when visiting the resort. A new Disney World hotel perk is being introduced next year that could add tons of extra fun to your Disney World trip! Disney World announced earlier this year that beginning in 2025, guests staying at Disney World hotels (including DVC stays) will get FREE park tickets to the Disney water parks on their arrival day. These tickets are eligible at either Blizzard Beach Water Park or Typhoon Lagoon Water Park — whichever is open at the time of your visit. Riviera Resort Right now, this benefit is only available for those with check-in dates from January 1st to December 31st, 2025. The benefit is also subject to availability and all visitors must be listed on the hotel reservation. Typhoon Lagoon There is a caveat, however. This hotel perk is only valid ONLY on your check-in day. So if you want to get your water park on, you’ll need to plan to do so on the same day you arrive at Disney World. Obviously, this can cause some complications for folks who like to use their check-in day to settle in. For others, this perk is an awesome way to jumpstart a vacation. Typhoon Lagoon Wave Pool Many will pass up this perk because it requires nearly a full day in addition to the travel and check-in process, but if you plan accordingly, you should have little trouble with this new Disney World offering. Before this perk was announced, it was commonplace to fly into Orlando, check in to your hotel, settle in, and relax into the evening. However, with this benefit, it makes sense that many will shift their itineraries around to get to the resort MUCH earlier. Blizzard Beach You may want to consider changing your flights to something earlier if this is a perk you want to take advantage of. Water parks don’t naturally stay open very late, so if you want to maximize your time at one of Disney World’s two water parks, we recommend arriving at the resort early in the morning. Above all else, make sure you’re comfortable with your travel plans. If you’re going to visit a water park on the first day, you can never go wrong with giving yourself ample time to avoid the stress of rushing. Orlando International Airport Showing up early now means that the probability of your hotel room not being ready upon arrival increases. You won’t be able to take your luggage up to your room, but bell services could hold your stuff. We also recommend packing your water park gear in a carry-on, that way you can quick-change at the hotel bathrooms or at the water park. Consider packing swimwear, spare clothes, sunscreen, sandals, hats, sunglasses, water bottles, and other water park necessities in a separate carry-on so you can hit the ground running once you get to the resort. As a friendly reminder, beach towels at the water parks are complimentary for those staying at Disney World hotels, so don’t sweat packing those. Castaway Creek Lazy River Ultimately, like everything else at Disney World, prepare to plan. If you want to take advantage of this new hotel perk in 2025, make a plan of attack before you go so that you have the smoothest experience possible. There are literally hundreds of souvenirs you can choose from when you are visiting Disney World! However, we have noticed (and taken part in!) a souvenir trend that is taking Disney World by storm. A great souvenir! There are so many souvenirs that don’t seem personal or have a lot of memories attached to them. But this souvenir trend is changing all of that! We have been noticing lots of people bringing in simple items like hats, water bottles, t-shirts, and picture frames that end up making a fantastic souvenir. How you may ask? By bringing the item around the parks to get signed by the Disney characters they meet! Make sure you have your item and some markers, and let the fun begin. Captain Jack! Once you leave, you will have a souvenir that is full of memories of your trip. Plus, you can use it in your everyday life once you return from your trip. How cool would it be to wear a hat signed by lots of Disney characters or look at a picture frame covered in colorful signatures? We think this souvenir trend is going to continue to grow as it is such a fun way to make a keepsake of your trip. We have already gotten a water bottle and a picture frame signed while at the Disney parks, and we had such a fun time! Now we are sharing the items we got signed with you, so you can also create your own souvenir while you are at Disney World. Grab this picture frame to be signed! Our first attempt of this new souvenir trend was bringing a blank picture frame with us to the parks. We took the frame out of the actual holder so it was just the paper frame. While you could bring the entire picture frame with you, we thought this was much easier. Although, definitely be careful so you don’t bend it too much! Before We traveled all around the park and got LOADS of signatures on our picture frame. We brought a pack of colorful Sharpie markers to add a bit more color to the frame. After We think the end result was amazing! Then you can add your favorite picture from the trip in the middle of the frame and you have a really fun keepsake. Get this picture frame here! Get this Owala Water Bottle ready to be signed! We have also brought a Owala Water Bottle to the parks to be signed and had fantastic results! We did notice that the characters had a slightly more difficult time signing this versus the picture frame, but we still thought all the signatures looked great. We also used a pack of colorful Sharpies to have the water bottle signed. Mickey signing the bottle We once again had such a great time traveling around the park, meeting characters, and adding signatures to our water bottle. Mickey Mouse even added a little note to “Stay hydrated!” which we thought was adorable. The finished bottle We did notice that the more we touched the water bottle, the signature began to smudge slightly. Our biggest recommendation would be to handle it carefully during the day and then utilize a sealant spray to preserve all your hard work. However, we loved the finished result. Get your own water bottle here! Don’t say we didn’t warn you, we we think this souvenir trend is here to stay! We think it is such a fun experience and then you get a keepsake of your trip. There are quite literally hundreds of restaurants in Disney World, and it can be a challenge to choose one to visit! Snacks Often, our decisions are made based on price, menu, and location. And that last factor is important! Many people choose to eat at restaurants during their vacation simply because they’re located at their hotel. We experienced that very phenomenon recently, and we’re here to share our review! If you’re staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, you have a few different dining options. However, the quickest and cheapest choice is Trail’s End Restaurant — a former table service spot that was converted into a quick service restaurant in 2023. Trail’s End This restaurant is located next door to Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and features plenty of indoor seating. The food is designed to either be eaten in-house or to be packaged and taken back to your campsite or cabin for a meal with your family. Trail’s End Restaurant On the menu, they’ve got all kinds of classic southern eats and comfort foods, from fried chicken to pizza to mac and cheese to burgers. You can order in individual portions or pick up family-sized servings for your whole group. You can buy a whole chicken! During our visit, we decided to try out two different entrees from the menu! First up was the Barbecued Pulled Pork which was served on a fresh brioche bun for $10.79. Disney says it’s made with 10-hour smoked pulled pork and barbecue sauce topped with creamy slaw and served with french fries. Barbecue sandwich The fries were pretty well seasoned but might have been a bit TOO seasoned for a day spent in the hot sun at the campground. (You know, like when your stomach really just needs bland food?) The pulled pork sandwich was fine but it didn’t really taste like “10-hour smoked pulled pork.” It was more like a basic cafeteria-made barbecue sandwich than something really special. Ultimately, this dish isn’t anything to write home about but it will satisfy your hunger. The sandwich We also got the Bacon Cheeseburger for $13.99. This burger is made with grilled Angus beef topped with cheddar, lettuce, and tomato on a brioche bun and served with french fries. It had the same thoroughly seasoned fries on the side that the barbecue sandwich did — they’re yummy, but maybe not great for mid-summer. Bacon Cheeseburger The burger itself was unfortunately quite dry. Not only was the patty dry, but the bacon was overcooked to the point of being crunchy. (Yeah, not crispy…CRUNCHY.) We probably wouldn’t order this again. Instead, we recommend getting a burger at Crockett’s Tavern next door during its operating hours. A very dry burger Ultimately, we’re not going to encourage you to go out of your way to visit Trail’s End Restaurant anytime soon, but it’s not a bad option if you want something fast and easy during your Fort Wilderness stay.
