Happy Holidays — the Festival of the Holidays event is HERE! EPCOT Festival of the Holidays EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays began and will continue to delight guests through December 30th. This festival features tons of exciting holiday kitchen food booths with countless special offerings, exclusive merchandise that can only be bought during the festival, and entertainment, like the highly-anticipated show that happens each year. That’s right — the Candlelight Processional is BACK! The Candlelight Processional happens three times each evening of the festival — once at 5PM, once at 6:45PM, and a final time at 8:15PM. A 50-piece orchestra and choir made up of mostly Disney Cast Members (and some guest choirs from around the country) are joined by a celebrity narrator each night to tell the Christmas story. This year, those narrators are: 11/29 – 11/30 Josh Gad 12/1 – 12/2 Nico Santos (NEW) 12/3-12/5 Chrissy Metz 12/6 – 12/7 Whoopi Goldberg 12/8 – 12/10 Tituss Burgess (NEW) 12/11 – 12/12 Brendan Fraser 12/13 – 12/14 Ralph Macchio (NEW) 12/15 – 12/16 Gary Sinise 12/17 – 12/18 Neil Patrick Harris 12/19 – 12/21 Pat Sajak 12/22 – 12/23 Gloria Estefan 12/24 – 12/26 Edward James Olmos 12/27 – 12/28 Sterling K Brown 12/29 – 12/30 Jodi Benson Candlelight Processional Since we visited EPCOT on the very first night of the festival, we got to catch one of the very first shows! We stopped at the 6:45PM show and found it to be MAGICAL. Some of the most popular celebrity narrators will draw large crowds, so you’ll want to either secure your spot in line at least an hour before showtime on those nights or book a dining package to ensure your seat is reserved. This show is so epic Now, for the big reveal. We got to see THE voice of Olaf…Josh Gad! He even took to Instagram to express his gratitude for being part of the show, writing, “These incredible singers never cease to amaze me. Thank you for allowing me to stare in wonder at all of you and for allowing me to host this beautiful #candlelightprocessional at Epcot.” It’s Josh Gad! The show was absolutely wonderful, and it never disappoints. If you’re someone who appreciates live entertainment, music, and an overall moving show, you won’t want to miss this offering. The live music is incredible Looking for more Festival of the Holidays news? Check out our posts below! It’s time to check out the BEST holiday eats at the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays! 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays Passport Picking the best EPCOT snacks on a regular day can be tough enough, but now, the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has kicked off, which means there are even MORE eats and drinks to pick from (including a whole bunch of new ones). We’ve eaten at EVERY. SINGLE. BOOTH. at the Festival of the Holidays, and we’ve shared FULL booth reviews with you. But what are the very BEST items to eat? We’ve got the only list you need right here. Without further ado, let’s dive into our picks for the BEST eats and drinks at the 2023 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. New Bests Coffee Mocha Cookie from Mele Kalikimaka Coffee and mocha flavors are a classic — and for good reason! They just go together like peas and carrots (okay, weird analogy, but YOU KNOW what we mean). The Coffee Mocha Cookie for $3.25 is topped with topped with coffee-infused buttercream, cocoa nibs, and chocolate-covered espresso beans. It’s DELICIOUS and a must if you love coffee and chocolate. Coffee Mocha Cookie The buttercream on the cookie is light and air-whipped, while the cookie itself is soft. Read our full review of Mele Kalikimaka Coconut Guavarita from Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen We’re going to be honest: the Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen let us down BIG time this year, but there was at least one thing at the booth that we loved. The Coconut Guvarita is made with Tromba Blanco Tequila, coconut water, guava cream, a hint of lime rum, and orange liqueur with a toasted coconut rim for $13.50, and it’s flavorful and fruity and made us think about tropical vacations. Coconut Guavarita The toasted coconut rim is also a lot of fun. But like we said, this is the ONLY thing we’d get from this booth. Read our full review of Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen Spiced Cranberry Punch from Le Marche De Noel What do you get when you mix Pol Rémy Sparkling Wine, cranberry juice, orange juice, and spiced brown sugar? You get a delicious drink for $9.95. Spiced Cranberry Punch This was WONDERFUL. The sparkling wine is really high quality and has a nice flavor on its own, but it just sings with the juices and sugars. This reminds us of a cool, spiced holiday wine. It’s so festive, like a mimosa with more holiday flavor. Read our full review of Le Marche De Noel Holiday Kitchen Returning Bests Apple Caramel Crumb Cake from Holiday Hearth Desserts Dessert alert! The Apple Caramel Crumb Cake for $5 always puts a big old smile on our faces. One word: YES. Apple Caramel Crumb Cake This may sound dramatic, but this is one of the best festival treats we’ve ever had. It’s got a soft, gooey center and a perfectly balanced sweet butter flavor. We could go on and on and on about this dessert, but we’ll save you the time. Instead, we’ll tell you to go and try it for yourself! Click here to see our full review of this food booth! Smoked Salmon Potato Latke from L’Chaim Holiday Kitchen This snack was originally introduced in 2019, and we love how well the flavors work together every year. You get a good portion of salty smoked salmon, as well as a big dollop of sour cream for additional flavor. The dill brightens it all up. Smoked Salmon Potato Latke The latke itself is nice and crunchy on the outside. Read our full review of L’Chaim Holiday Kitchen Crème de Saumon Fumé en Brioche à l’Aneth, Concombre from Le Marche De Noel Holiday Kitchen What you’re looking at is the new Crème de Saumon Fumé en Brioche à l’Aneth, Concombre — that’s a cream of smoked salmon sandwich in sesame brioche roll with cucumber. You can try it for $8.75. Crème De Saumon Fumé Remember Pretty Patties from Spongebob? Well, this might be the closest we ever get to trying one in real life. And you know what? It was SO GOOD. The cold salmon salad with fresh vegetables was PACKED with flavor. If you like salmon and dill, you should absolutely go for this. Don’t be scared off by the appearance! Click here to see our full thoughts on the Le Marche De Noel Holiday Kitchen booth Blackened Catfish at American Holiday Table We are not joking when we say that our team member who tried this last year said it was one of the BEST things they’ve ever had at an EPCOT Festival in their entire life! That’s a big claim, but this dish deserves it! It’s made with Blackened Catfish with Hoppin’ John and comeback sauce and is $6.75. This year, we were happy to see that this dish lived up to last year’s hype. Blackened Catfish The catfish is so tender it falls apart, and there’s a nice heat to this snack as well. It’s got a salty cajun kick we ADORE! We love that the fish is paired with seasoned rice and beans. The flavors worked together so nicely, and the portion was big enough to fill you up as a light lunch or big enough to share. Now that’s a great value! This is one thing we would get time and time again! Check out the American Holiday Table full booth review here! Cheese Fondue in a Bread Bowl at Bavaria Holiday Kitchen Liquid cheese. Bread bowl. Tiny veggies. What’s NOT to love?! The Cheese Fondue from Bavaria Holiday Kitchen is a returning favorite cheese fans CANNOT miss! The cheese is served in a bread bowl with steamed baby vegetables and marble potatoes for dipping for $8.50. Cheese Fondue in a bread bowl If you brought us a straw, we might just be tempted to drink that cheese straight out of the bowl. But, for now, we’ll just dip our crispy veggies away and enjoy the savory flavors. See FULL review for Bavaria Holiday Kitchen by clicking here Pork Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce at Bavaria Holiday Kitchen Yup, we’re staying at Bavaria Holiday Kitchen for our next pick — the Pork Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce, Spätzle, and Braised Red Cabbage, available for $6.75. This dish has it all — a delicious mushroom sauce, a good portion size, yummy spaetzle, and a mix of great textures. Pork Schnitzel Grab this dish on your next trip — we have a feeling you’ll be glad you did! See FULL review for Bavaria Holiday Kitchen by clicking here Slow-Roasted Turkey at American Holiday Table Want all the goodness of a traditional holiday turkey meal without having to cook it yourself? Disney’s got you covered at American Holiday Table. That’s where you’ll find the oh-so-tasty Slow-roasted Turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce. It’s available for $6.25. Slow-roasted Turkey Last year, we thought it was hearty and satisfying and would give you that warm & fuzzy “it’s the holidays” feeling. This year, we were happily reunited with those nostalgic Thanksgiving Day flavors. Take a look at our plate — that’s a healthy taste of Thanksgiving! From the creamy mashed potatoes to the juicy turkey, we were so happy with our meal. We’re grateful for turkey, gravy, and potatoes! YUM. See our full American Holiday Table review here Toshikoshi Soba at Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen The Toshikoshi Soba is made with Buckwheat soba noodles in hot dashi (fish-based) soup topped with shrimp tempura and chopped green onion for $8.50. This soup is so savory and salty. We think it’s nice and comforting, one of those warm soups you’ll want in those colder winter nights in EPCOT. Toshikoshi Soba The shrimp tempura is just as delicious as we remember, but you’ll want to eat it quickly before it gets soggy. See the full menu at Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen Frozen Hot Chocolate Martini at Le Marche De Noel Holiday Kitchen Santa, we’re sorry, but it’s time to take that hot chocolate up a notch! At Le Marche De Noel Holiday Kitchen, you can grab a FROZEN hot chocolate martini, and we think it’s a creation Santa would be very jealous of! The drink has Grey Goose La Vanille Vodka, vodka, chocolate milk, and whipped cream. It is $13.95 this year. Frozen Hot Chocolate Martini at Le Marche de Noel This drink is a winner year after year. There isn’t much of a strong alcohol flavor, so sip this cautiously! If you haven’t given it a try yet, what are you waiting for?! See our full review of Le Marche De Noel Holiday Kitchen here Honorable Mentions The honorable mentions category captures some eats and drinks that might not shine as brightly as other dishes on the Best of the Fest list or that we’ve loved in the past but our team members didn’t love as much this year. We still think these deserve a shout-out, so we’ve placed them here to give them a little love and make sure you know about them. Pastrami on Rye at L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen If you love a good deli sandwich, head over to L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen to pick up their delicious Pastrami on Rye with house-made pickles and deli mustard for $6. Pastrami on Rye It has a combination of classic flavors that makes it a great returning item at the festival. See the L’Chaim! menu by clicking here Seared Salmon from Yukon Holiday Kitchen The Seared Salmon is made with butternut squash purée, maple-bourbon glaze, and fennel-arugula salad. Confession time: we love fancy salmon with tons of stuff on it. Seared Salmon The truth is that we would recommend this JUST for that incredible butternut maple sauce. Although the salmon seemed a little briny to us, the butternut sauce helped cut that down a bit and added a delicious maple sugar flavor to our dish. The salad it comes with feels more like a garnish to us, but it was still good! Click here to read a full review of this booth Turkey Poutine at Refreshment Port Regular Disney fries are delicious; many would firmly agree with that. But add a holiday feast on top of them, and you’ve got a REAL winner! Plus, in 2023, Disney changed this dish slightly, and now it features sweet potato fries! The Turkey Poutine at Refreshment Port is a returning classic featuring Sweet Potato Fries, turkey gravy, cranberry relish, and crispy onions. Turkey Poutine It mixes all the joy of loaded fries with all the deliciousness of a holiday meal. We enjoyed this snack, though we did end up thinking that this comes in a little too sweet. With the fries and the cranberry relish, it’s a lot of sugar. It all depends on your sugar tolerance, though, so we think this is still worthy of an honorable mention. Click here to learn more about the menu at Refreshment Port. Best Plant-Based Dish of the Fest Peanut Stew at Refreshment Outpost HOLY MACARONI FOLKS. Last year, our reporter tried the Peanut Stew with sweet potatoes, mustard greens, and roasted peanuts from Refreshment Outpost and was legitimately BLOWN away by how good it was. Peanut stew They described the dish as the peanut butter rice from Boma (which is AH-mazing by the way), plussed up times 10! Really, it’s what peanut stew dreams are made of. YUM! The dish was full of savory spices, some of which actually provided genuine heat (but not necessarily in a bad way). The peanuts are seasoned well and have a fantastic flavor, the sweet potatoes provide a great texture, the mustard greens give it a great crunch, and the rice helps cut the heat. Basically, it is delicious. DO NOT MISS IT! See more details about the Festival dishes at Refreshment Outpost here! Black and White Cookie from L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen If you’re looking for a simple and soft cookie with a nice citrus flavor, the Black and White Cookie for $3.25 is the place to go. We’ve had mixed feelings about it in the past, but it significantly improved last year and pleasantly surprised us again this year! Black and White Cookie The cookie is soft and chewy, and the frosting is really sweet with a great vanilla bean flavor. Overall, it’s simple but tasty and a nice size for the price. You can grab this one from L’Chaim Holiday Kitchen. Click here for our full review from the L’Chaim! booth. Best Booth of the Fest Le March de Noel It shouldn’t come as a big surprise that our favorite booth this year (and let’s face it — this booth wins a LOT of festivals) is in France. Le March de Noel Holiday Kitchen was a huge hit for us this year AGAIN. The Rôti de Jambon is so savory, and the salmon sandwich is fresh and delicious. That frozen hot chocolate martini? Well, sign us up for that drink EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Le Marche de Noel Spread Hands down, this is our favorite booth of the festival, and we’ll be returning multiple times during the festival to eat and drink everything on the menu here. Best of the Fest for Kids Cookie Stroll Once again, the classic Festival of the Holidays Cookie Stroll makes our Best of the Fest list as a great pick for little ones. With the cookie stroll, you purchase five cookies from any of the cookie stroll locations in the Festival Passport. As you buy the cookies, you’ll get a stamp for each one. Gingerbread Cookie Once you’ve collected five stamps, you can bring your passport to the Holiday Sweets & Treats booth to get a special prize! This year, the surprise was cookie mix, which you can use to make your own cookies at home! Cookie Stroll Completer Prize — Cookie Mix for Home! The cookie stroll is great for ALL ages, but it can be especially fun for kids because it mixes the sense of adventure of a scavenger hunt/quest with the sweetness of cookies. Holiday Sugar Cookie Some of our favorite cookies this year were the SNICKERS-Doodle Cookie made with SNICKERS bar pieces from American Holiday Table… SNICKERS-Doodle Cookie …the Hazelnut Linzer Cookie from Bavaria Holiday Kitchen… Hazelnut Linzer Cookie …and the Coffee Mocha Cookie topped with coffee-infused buttercream, cocoa nibs, and chocolate-covered espresso beans from Mele Kalikimaka. Coffee Mocha Cookie The cookies are pretty inexpensive, too, so if you’re looking for a fun activity to keep your little ones entertained as you stroll through the World Showcase, this is a great option! The crowds began right at the park’s entrance, where large crowds were anxious to enter the park for the festival. Crowds entering! As we entered World Discovery, there were LARGE crowds pouring underneath Spaceship Earth. Spaceship Earth crowds These crowds continued to filter through the park, filling up the outside… Shopping season …and inside of the parks in World Celebration. Here’s a look at the crowds at World Showcase. World Showcase crowds As you expect, many people are heading straight for the festival’s most in-demand booths… 2024 Tuscany Holiday Kitchen …though we’d lie if we said the waits weren’t worth it. 2024 Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen Between the launch of the festival and the fact that today IS the day after Thanksgiving, the massive crowds have led to long lines… Lines! …and long wait times throughout the day. ©Disney So, yes. It has been a BUSY day in EPCOT! We hope you’re hungry because it’s time for another Holiday Kitchen at the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays! 2024 Nochebuena Cocina Holiday Kitchen The 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has officially begun, and there is a lot to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you. We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the Nochebuena Cocina booth — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out! Menu Over at the Nochebuena Cocina booth, you’ll find both sweet and savory dishes! Returning for 2024 is the plant-based Chorizo Tamal, and new for this year is the Pastelón, a sofrito-marinated beef with sweet plantains and olives. You can also get one of the Cookie Stroll cookies here! 2024 Nochebuena Cocina full spread Drinks for this year include a non-boozy Ponche Navideño, which is a Christmas punch with apple, pears, guava, oranges, dried hibiscus, brown sugar, tamarind, cinnamon sticks, and cloves served warm, and the new for 2024 Left Hand Brewing Co. Mexican Hot Chocolate Milk Stout. 2024 Nochebuena Cocina Holiday Kitchen Menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First up, we grabbed the returning plant-based Chorizo Tamal with cotija and spicy red chile sauce. You can grab this for $5.50! Plant-based Chorizo Tamal Last year, we found this dish to be overpowered by the spicy red chile sauce. This year, the sauce was still spicy, but we enjoyed it with the plant-based chorizo! Both of those aspects of this dish were great. However, the tamal was very dry in kind of a sandy kind of way. We would have loved this more if the tamal would have had a better texture. Tamal Next up is the new Pastelón — a sofrito-marinated beef with sweet plantains and olives. This dish is $5.75. Pastelon This dish was good. The plantains were very good, the beef was tasty, and we loved the olives. Overall, though, just like this booth in general, it was good but not great. We liked that it came in a little dish, which made it easier and fun to eat, and the cheese on top was yummy. But overall, it’s kind of just ok. The cheese was yummy on top And for dessert, you can add to your Cookie Stroll collection with the returning Cinnamon-spiced Chocolate Crinkle Cookie for $3.25. Cinnamon-spiced Chocolate Crinkle Cookie This cookie was very good! You can taste the chocolate far more than the cinnamon, so if you’re looking for a cinnamon cookie, this isn’t really it. It’s very soft, chewy, and very delicious. Drinks Of the two drinks on the menu this year, we checked out the festive Ponche Navideño – a Christmas punch with apple, pears, guava, oranges, dried hibiscus, brown sugar, tamarind, cinnamon sticks, and cloves. This drink costs $4.00 Ponche Navideno This was absolutely delicious! It’s very fruity and tastes a lot like sangria without the alcohol. It’s served warm, and it will warm you up nicely, which we love for cooler days. The cinnamon, brown sugar, and fruit all went together SO well. This was our favorite item at this booth! New for 2024, there is also a holiday stout — the Left Hand Brewing Co. Mexican Hot Chocolate Milk Stout. We didn’t order this, but if you’re a stout fan, you might want to check it out! You can get a 6 oz. pour for $5.75 or a 12 oz. pour for $9.75 OVERALL We would absolutely come back to grab the cookie and the Ponche Navideño at this booth. Other than those two things, it’s ok, but we were hoping for better. But if you’re looking for a yummy, warm holiday drink, this needs to be your stop! Cinnamon-spiced Chocolate Crinkle Cookie That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! Click here to see FULL reviews of EVERY. SINGLE. There is no question about it, the Orlando theme parks can get pretty unbearable during the hot summer months. While the average highs during the summer months are in the low 90s, the heat index can make the temperature feel like it is well over 100 degrees. Magic Kingdom Combine the high heat with lots of walking around and pushing your body to see and do as much as possible, you can probably see how the heat can have a negative consequence for theme parks. Orlando boasts numerous theme parks including Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando. All of them are feeling the impacts of extreme heat and taking measures to make the parks more bearable for both guests and employees during the summer months. While we have all probably been hoping for Disney to develop a weather dome that can provide air-conditioning for the whole park, we know that most likely won’t be happening anytime soon. But, how big of an impact could the extreme heat have on the theme parks? EPCOT Florida Politics spent months obtaining public records and speaking to a number of key players to better understand how heat has affected the theme parks in Orlando. We know first-hand just how HOT the theme parks can get in the summer and the effect it can have on your days in the parks. According to Florida Politics, there were OVER 400 heat-related 911 calls at Disney World during the four months of summer. Animal Kingdom The CEO of SeaWorld Orlando stated that the “weather was a very significant factor” in their attendance numbers. In the summer of 2023, attendance at SeaWorld Orlando fell by 3%. The company attributes this decline in attendance to the weather including extreme heat and rain. ©SeaWorld Orlando All of the Orlando area theme parks have been forced to find ways to protect employees and guests from the extreme heat. The theme parks have been building air-conditioned queues for new attractions and providing more shade throughout the parks. SeaWorld noted that they have been focusing on building more indoor shows and providing drink options that can be refilled for cheaper. Journey to Atlantis As well, Disney gives out free iced water to guests and has first aid centers for guests to use. Disney designs Cast Member costumes out of breathable materials and is committed to protecting Cast Members from heat-related issues. Florida Politics also noted that Universal is also taking measures to protect people from the high heat. At Epic Universe, Celestial Park will feature about 1,500 trees to help provide shade in the area. Universal Orlando State Representative Anna Eskamani told Florida Politics that she worries that the extreme heat may have an impact on theme park attendance. The theme parks are a huge part of Orlando’s economy, and the unbearable heat could result in a reduction in visitors during the summer months. Universal Studios We write A LOT about strategies for Disney World during the hot summer months. We know that the weather can have a huge impact on your trip, and we want to make sure you are prepared if you are heading to Disney World in the summer. Yes, it will be hot. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have a great time still; you just want to manage your expectations! Plan for LOTS of breaks indoors and try to hit the attractions and shows that are indoors during the hottest part of the day. Give your body plenty of time to rest and head into the stores on your way for some wonderful AC. And it can never hurt to build in a day or two for a resort day and some pool time! Of course, make sure you are staying hydrated as well! Disney’s Hollywood Studios Make sure to stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World news! Benvenuto! Welcome to the Tuscany Holiday Kitchen! 2024 Tuscany Holiday Kitchen Tuscany Holiday Kitchen is one of the festive holiday Food Booths at the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. We’re stopping by the Italy pavilion to check out the new (and returning) eats this year, and of course wash things down with an Italian Margarita as we bring you our full review, just like we’re doing with ALL of the Festival’s Holiday Kitchens! Menu The menu at Tuscany Holiday Kitchen features the returning Montanara and Dolce Pizza, while the Panettone is a new offering this year. 2024 Tuscany Holiday Kitchen Menu There’s always something fun to sip in Italy, and this Festival features a Bombardino Freddo (creamy eggnog and Italian brandy), wines including Prosecco, Moscato, and Chianti, your choice of red or white Italian Sangria, the beloved Italian Margarita with tequila and limoncello, and Peroni Pilsner for the beer drinkers. And with that, we say “Buon Appetito!” Eats The Montanara returns this year for $9. This dish is a fried house-made pizza dough with pomodoro sauce, parmesan, and fresh basil. We found these to be very gummy, like they weren’t cooked well, and then soaked up all the marinara, which made them soggy. In this case, we do believe they had been sitting in this marinara and soaked it up well before it was in our hands. The marinara sauce also lacked flavor, and while there was a lot of parmesan, we really couldn’t taste a lot of it. Montanara We’re especially interested to try the Panettone, which is new this year for $7. The bread was okay, but guess what? It was gummy, too! The orange slices in here also reminded us of fruit that had been dehydrated and then attempted to be revived again, and it was just unpleasant. The vanilla cream is honestly very tasty, but it wasn’t enough to save the dish. Panettone The Dolce Pizza is back, too, for $7.50. Dolce Pizza Here, the fried house-made pizza dough is coated with sugar and cinnamon. This is just boring, to be honest. The dough is chewy to the extent that it’s almost gummy (WHAT is with the Italy pavilion and being gummy?!), which was gross to us, and while the cinnamon and sugar combination was a good topping, the dough was not a good mix with it. Drinks Say “Saluti!” Beverages include the Bombardino Freddo, but this was marked as not available during our visit. This festive cocktail is a creamy eggnog with Italian brandy. Maybe it’ll be available in the near future! The Italian Sangria is available in your choice of red or white for $12. Italian White and Italian Red Sangria Both sangrias boast a lot of fruit flavor without being too sweet. Now, it’s possible that, with Florida weather patterns, you may well hit up the Festival of the Holidays on a very warm day. There’s not much more refreshing, in that case than the Italian Margarita with tequila and limoncello! Italian Margarita This pleasantly tart cocktail costs $12. Wine drinkers can choose from Prosecco, Moscato, and Chianti, too. Peroni Pilsner Finally, the Peroni Pilsner — a staple in the Italy pavilion — is also available for $6.99 for a 6oz and $11 for a 12oz. OVERALL Overall, we’re sad to say that Italy continues its tradition of being one of the worst booths at the festival. We don’t know WHY this one struggles as much as it does, but we highly recommend skipping this one, no matter your taste palette. We’re still looking forward to the day that the Italy Pavilion finally redeems itself…but alas, we don’t know if that will ever happen. Thanks for joining us at Tuscany Holiday Kitchen! If you are reading this post while hungry, BE WARNED. Seriously, we’re not joking! You’re willing to keep reading? Okay, well then — we’ve got some DELICIOUS details to share with you! 2024 Le Marche de Noel Holiday Kitchen The 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has officially begun, and there is a lot to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you. We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the Le March de Noel Holiday Kitchen — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out! Menu Over at the Le Marche de Noel Holiday Kitchen, you’ll find a variety of available items. We’ve spotted some returning favorites and some new additions and even spied a bit of change up to an item from last year! 2024 Le Marche de Noel Holiday Kitchen Menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First up, we grabbed a returning item, the Crème De Saumon Fumé en Brioche for $8.75. This item is a Smoked salmon spread on a sesame brioche roll with cucumber and radishes. We first had this little sandwich last year and it was SO GOOD. It was a cold, salmon salad with fresh vegetables on the dill brioche — which was PACKED with flavor and was so soft. If you like salmon and dill, you should absolutely go for this. Salmon can be on the fishy side, but the addition of the cucumbers and the fresh lettuce helped to balance things out. We loved this last year, so how does it hold up this year? Crème De Saumon Fumé en Brioche It’s a slightly different presentation this year, but the flavor profile is exactly the same as the past year’s. There are super fresh radishes and super fresh cucumbers that have an amazing crunch and the smoked salmon is so delicious. It has just the most delicious flavor without being overly fishy — and it’s so flavorful that even though there was a little too much bread-to-filling ratio, it didn’t really matter because the salmon was so flavorful. YUM Next up, we grabbed a returning item, the Rôti de Jambon for $7.95. This item is a Roasted ham with mushrooms, pearl onions, bacon, white wine mustard sauce, and dauphin roasted herb potatoes. When we had this in 2022, we thought this was a savory and salty explosion — but in the best way. The salty ham pairs so well with the mushrooms and mustard sauce, which has an excellent tang. Last year, we felt the same! The mushrooms were so thick and hearty and paired really well with the ham and mustard sauce. It’s a really warm, savory dish that we really enjoyed. So does this item hold up this year, too? Rôti de Jambon Sauce Moutarde à l’Ancienne, Pommes Darphin The roti is quite good but, at the end of the day, it’s so much ham. It’s got mushrooms and gravy and these little pearl onions — it’s just so savory, salty, delicious, and hearty, and it feels like a holiday favorite without being overly heavy. We really enjoyed it last year and it’s the same this year, but it’s not really something you want to scarf down — it’s pretty salty! Rôti de Jambon Sauce Moutarde à l’Ancienne, Pommes Dauphin Rounding out our snacks from this booth, we grabbed dessert. After all, this is France, and what’s a French meal without a little something sweet? The Bûche de Noël for $6.95. This item is a Chocolate fudge Christmas log with a caramel cream center. A Bûche de Noël is a classic French holiday treat. Last year’s version was a Gingerbread Christmas log with milk chocolate and hazelnut ganache. But chocolate fudge and caramel cream? We had to grab this to see how it was! Buche de Noel It’s moist and it’s delicious. It’s creamy with a lot of icing and filling — the chocolate and caramel go so well together, but, it’s really just a chocolate cake so it’s not the most exciting dessert at the festival. Drinks In terms of drinks on this menu, we got a Frozen Hot Chocolate Martini for $13.95. This festive cocktail is made with Vodka, chocolate milk, and whipped cream. It’s made our list of best of the fest in the past, and we keep coming back to it every year. It’s a Florida-friendly version of hot cocoa. Does this little understated cocktail still hold the key to our hearts this year? Yes, yes it does. It tastes like Nesquik chocolate milk mixed with vodka — but you can’t even really taste the vodka so it’s just a really delicious frozen hot chocolate. We also had several people ask us where we got it so be warned that you might get (gently) accosted if you grab this one! Frozen Hot Chocolate Martini And to round our yuletide trip to France, we got the Spiced Cranberry Punch for $9.95. This new cocktail is made with Pol Rémy Sparkling Wine, cranberry juice, orange juice, and spiced brown sugar. Spiced Cranberry Punch We loved this! It’s made with a really high-quality sparkling wine that has amazing flavor on its own and then it’s got the juices and the sugar in it that makes it taste like this delicious, cool spiced holiday wine. It’s so festive and so delicious — kind of reminiscent of a mimosa but with a little bit more fun holiday flavor. You can also grab the Chateau Haut Beaumard Cabernet Sauvignon for $5.95. So, what do we think of the France booth this year? OVERALL Once again, Le Marche de Noel was a hit for us — it may even be our BEST booth of the entire festival this year (but what else is new?!) The roti is so savory and the salmon sandwich is fresh and delicious. Plus, it’s hard to beat that frozen hot chocolate — and the new cocktail is a great addition, too! Le Marche de Noel Spread That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! Click here to see FULL reviews of EVERY. SINGLE. BOOTH. at the Festival of the Holidays! Join us in EPCOT’s lovely China Pavilion to visit Shanghai Holiday Kitchen! 2024 Shanghai Holiday Kitchen Shanghai Holiday Kitchen is one of the Holiday Kitchens (also known as Food Booths) at the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. And, just like we’re doing with EVERY Holiday Kitchen at the Festival, we’re stopping by to bring your our full review of everything new (and returning) to this popular Festival booth! We are definitely intrigued by the new XO Fried Rice, made with Chinese sausage, onion, green onion, mushroom, egg, and house-made Hong Kong XO Chili Sauce. XO Fried Rice It costs $9.75. We are starting off with our favorite dish at this booth! The rice is perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. We loved the amount of mix-ins to rice ratio. The pork had a sweeter marinade on it that made the dish taste a bit like pineapple fried rice, but it worked really well. Our biggest complaint about this dish is that it was on the greasy side, but we still really enjoyed it. XO Fried Rice The returning Beef Noodle Soup Bowl is made with slow-braised beef shank, green onion, and house-made chili oil. This dish costs $9.50. Beef Noodle Soup Bowl We are so impressed by this dish and the massive portion size you get. The pieces of beef were HUGE, and there were plenty of noodles. However, the dish lacked flavor, and we thought it was bland for an Asian noodle soup. It impressed us more than most noodle dishes we have gotten at EPCOT, but it won’t stand up to an authentic Asian noodle soup. Beef Noodle Soup The broth was savory with lots of aromatic flavors. The beef was very tender, and you could easily pull it apart with a fork or chopsticks. There is a bit of chili oil in here, but not only enough to leave a slight tingle on your lips and not ruin your mouth for the rest of the day. The scallions were the perfect addition to the soup and added a great texture and flavor. It definitely hit the spot for a tasty noodle soup! Beef Noodle Soup The Vegetable Spring Rolls with citrus sauce are also back this year! Vegetable Spring Rolls These come in at $5.50. While we felt like these spring rolls were a bit expensive for what you got, we were impressed with the flavors and textures. They were super crispy, even after likely sitting out for a while, and there was LOTS of filling inside. It was super flavorful with lots of fresh vegetable flavor. Vegetable Spring Rolls The citrus sauce that they were served with was sweet and not really spicy at all. They are great spring rolls, but also nothing super unique and, like we said, a bit expensive for what you get, Drinks You can always count on Shanghai Holiday Kitchen to bring a Bubble Tea to the party, and this year’s new Taro Bubble Milk Tea features green tea and boba. Taro Bubble Milk Tea This non-alcoholic option costs $8.75. We thought this was a great size! It was very creamy and delicious, but you will want to like tapioca pearls and taro if you grab this drink. It definitely has a lot of taro flavor, and you can grab a boba straw to get the tapioca pearls out of the bottom. Taro Bubble Milk Tea The Butterfly Lantern is back, and this returning drink features Butterfly pea blossom gin, vodka, prickly pear, lychee syrup, soda water, and white boba and costs $14.75. Honestly, we find this cocktail to be… just okay. The pear is pronounced with just a touch of the lychee, but it’s not a great combination and comes off as a bit medicinal. The gin doesn’t carry a strong presence, either. Butterfly Lantern New this year is the Peach of Longevity for $14. Aside from having a cool name, this drink also features Peach Schnapps, citrus vodka, piña colada mix, and orange juice. Peach of Longevity This is a sweet cocktail with a lot of peach flavor! We thought it was delicious and refreshing, but you will probably only like it if you enjoy sweet cocktails. Peach of Longevity Also available is the new Lychee Martini (vodka, lychee syrup, and vermouth) for $14.50. Beer drinkers can give Brew Hub Year of the Dragon: Dragon Fruit Lager a try for $5.75 for a 6-ounce pour or $10.00 for a 12-ounce pour. OVERALL We enjoyed everything we tried at Shanghai Kitchen. It may not land in the rankings as our absolute favorite booth, but it is definitely worth a stop. Our favorite dish was the XO Fried Rice, but the portion size of the Beef Noodle Soup is pretty impressive. The spring rolls were tasty, but we don’t think you get your money’s worth with this dish. We would definitely also get the Taro Bubble Milk Tea again and if you are looking for a sweet cocktail, make sure you check out the Peach of Longevity. “We call it EPCOT. Spelled E-P-C-O-T.” With these words, Walt Disney introduced the “Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.” Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow Booth But today — in one location of EPCOT — the “C” stands for something different. Making its debut at the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays is a brand new Holiday Kitchen: Experimental Prototype COOKIES of Tomorrow! And, just as we are with all of the other Holiday Kitchens (also known as Food Booths) at the Festival, we’re paying a visit to this new food booth to bring you our full review! Atmosphere Before we dive into the eats and drinks at Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow, we thought we’d mention its location in CommuniCore Hall. Communicore Hall CommuniCore Hall isn’t only home to this new Holiday Kitchen, though…it’s also where you can see a brand-new version of one of Disney World’s famous Gingerbread Displays: the Gingerbread Spaceship Earth! Gingerbread Spaceship Earth Disney has shared that it took over 160 hours to create the display. It even lights up and “dances” to music, AND features 11 hidden Mickeys that represent the 11 countries of the World Showcase. So what, exactly, does that have to do with Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow? You’re about to find out… Menu It probably comes as no surprise that Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow has a cookie as its spotlight item: this is where you’ll find the Spaceship Earth Tile Gingerbread Triangle. Cookie decorating kits are also up for grabs if you want to make the design your own! Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow Menu To pair with your tile, you can grab a cup of Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s Coffee, a Gingerbread Milk Shake with or without whipped cream vodka, Seasonal Wine, Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co. Gingerbread White Stout, or 81Bay Brewing Co. Gingerbread Coffee Porter. Here we go! Eats Brand new this year, in honor of the new Spaceship Earth Gingerbread Display is the Spaceship Earth Tile Gingerbread Triangle for a whopping $10! Spaceship Earth Tile Gingerbread Triangle This item is in keeping with traditional Gingerbread Displays around Disney World, like the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House, where you can purchase a Gingerbread Shingle as you admire the display. Of course, this version of Spaceship Earth is comprised of Gingerbread tiles, so that’s what’s on the menu! A Gingerbread Tile also counts towards a stamp if you’re participating in the Holiday Cookie Stroll. Very chewy In fact, the taste of this gingerbread also reminds us of the softer gingerbread you can find at the Grand Floridian, so if you’re a fan of crunchy gingerbread, this won’t be for you. The icing on top was VERY hard, so hard that it quite literally fell off the cookie, and the milk chocolate coating on the bottom was hard as well. We enjoyed the flavor of the milk chocolate, but the cookie as a whole wasn’t worth $10 to us, even if you adore gingerbread. Drinks Returning this year is the Gingerbread Milk Shake for $4.75. This milkshake wasn’t bad by any means, but it is a relatively simple shake. That’s not a bad thing, especially since the price isn’t bad, but you really have to like gingerbread for this milkshake to be a hit for you. Otherwise, you may feel underwhelmed and wish you had spent your money on another item instead. Gingerbread Milk Shake You can choose to order the non-alcoholic version, or of-age guests can try it with whipped cream vodka for $12. Additional options include a classic Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s Coffee for $4. Beer drinkers have a couple of options: the Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co. Gingerbread White Stout and the 81Bay Brewing Co. Gingerbread Coffee Porter, both $12 each. OVERALL While we think this booth is super cute and we adore the idea, if you’re not a gingerbread fan, you’ll want to skip it as a whole. And while the milkshake was cute, we don’t think it’s necessarily worth a stop if you’re not already nearby, and there are loads of other gingerbread cookie treats out there that are cheaper (and better tasting) than the gingerbread triangle. Disney recently announced that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is going to be rethemed with The Muppets. Disney adults DEFINITELY had some thoughts about this announcement and fans are VERY divided on whether Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets is a good idea or not. ©Disney Currently, the attraction is Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and features a variety of songs from this iconic rock band. However, the roller coaster attraction on Sunset Boulevard will soon be taken over by The Muppets as the new Monsters, Inc. land moves into the Muppets Courtyard area of Hollywood Studios. What do Disney fans really think of this change? We are rounding up some of our reader’s comments to give you a glimpse at the thoughts Disney adults are having! Like we said, there are people on both sides, some are excited for this retheme, while others are dreading the day that Aerosmith is no longer featured on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Jade wrote, “This is a huge win. Aerosmith is not family-friendly, and the singer is a creep. I’m happy to see them go.” Geoff also agreed writing, “I like this move! Rock-n-Roller Coaster is more worn out than Stephen Tyler’s vocal chords + “Monsters Inc” is an easy replacement for the empty area around Muppet Vision 3D.” Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Jessica was also on-board with the retheme announcement, although she did wish it wasn’t at the expense of losing Aerosmith. She wrote, “Although I’m sad about losing the Aerosmith aspect, I’ve been waiting for this for 20 years since they lost the MGM on Hollywood. I’m happy for the Muppets and glad to keep them around (just wish it wasn’t losing Aerosmith).” There are many fans of The Muppets that are excited that they are getting more attention and their first-ever ride at Disney World. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster However, there are also many Disney fans who are NOT excited at all about The Muppets coming to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Haley wrote, “I just don’t see how you can keep it the Rock n Roller Coaster with Muppets. Muppets music is silly and quirky not cool and rocking. There were plenty of better options for a rebranding of this ride.” Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Olivia also agreed writing, “What an absolute tragedy for the future of this great ride…” Natalie is also having a hard time with understanding the retheme writing, “I’m struggling to be on board with this project. I can see using Muppets for the decor and staging preshow room. But come on! You need actual rock and roll songs for the actual ride. You can’t launch a coaster to rainbow connection.” Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster We also heard from Karen who wrote, “Who is making the decisions for WDW lately? This is insane. It’s ridiculous. WHY oh WHY the Muppets? It’s almost as bad as putting Cars where Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America are…almost.” We have definitely seen a lot of people confused by the announcement and feeling that a different theme would have been more suited for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Disney has not announced yet how much of the attraction will be changing or when the ride will be closed for the retheme. The Monsters, Inc. land is expected to begin construction next year, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will be closed that soon either. There are STRONG opinions about the retheme, and we will be sure to keep you updated as we learn more from Disney! We’re headed over to Connections Cafe and Eatery to check out some special snacks for the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays! Connections Eatery The 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has officially begun, and there is a lot to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you. We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — Connections Cafe and Eatery — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out! Menus Returning to the Cafe this year is the Cookie Stroll Holiday Sugar Cookie. Holiday Sugar Cookie Menu A new Holiday Sweater Liege Waffle made with a chocolate-coated brioche waffle with a flurry of blizzard themed sprinkles and white chocolate garnish is on the menu at Connections Eatery. Holiday Sweater Liege Waffle Also returning to the Eatery for 2024 is the Coquito Milk Shake made with French vanilla gelato, cream of coconut, nutmeg, and cinnamon. You can make this shake boozy by adding Bacardi Superior Rum. Eats This year’s Holiday Sugar Cookie at the Cafe is part of the 2024 Cookie Stroll. This one is priced at $4.29. Holiday Sugar Cookie It is buttery and soft, but it wasn’t anything special. The sugar cookie tastes like one you could get from the grocery store. If you are craving a regular sugar cookie, this one will definitely satisfy you, but if you are looking for a unique treat, we would say look elsewhere. The sprinkles are fun, but this is really just a normal sugar cookie. Holiday Sugar Cookie Over at the Eatery, we check out the new Holiday Sweater Liege Waffle made with a chocolate-coated gingerbread waffle with a flurry of blizzard themed sprinkles and white chocolate garnish. You can grab one for $4.49. Holiday Sweater Liege Waffle We really wanted to like this waffle as it is SO cute! However, it was on the drier side, and we didn’t taste the gingerbread in the waffle. It was very light, but also very underwhelming. We prefer the normal Liege Waffle you can get at Connections Eatery. Drinks You can also pick-up the Coquito Milk Shake at Connections Eatery for $7.49. It is made with French vanilla gelato, cream of coconut, nutmeg, and cinnamon. We tried this shake last year, so we opted not to try it again this year. When we tried it in the past, we really liked it. It was a very creamy shake that reminded us of eggnog. Coquito Milk Shake OVERALL If you are trying to find somewhere quick and easy to grab a sugary treat, Connections Cafe and Eatery could be a good option. Plus, you can also order lots of other things off the quick service menu at Connections Eatery. However, we weren’t that impressed with any of the festival offerings and would suggest going elsewhere for some holiday treats. The waffle is super cute, but the flavors and overall texture of the waffle did not impress us. The sugar cookie was a sugar cookie, and that is about it. It will satisfy a sugar cookie craving, but it won’t be a memorable dessert. Click here to see FULL reviews of EVERY. SINGLE. BOOTH. at the Festival of the Holidays! One day of Thanksgiving turkey is never enough, if you ask me. And that’s why we’re thrilled to be back at American Holiday Table! 2024 American Holiday Table Booth American Holiday Table is one of the Holiday Kitchens (also known as Food Booths) at the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. Even though there is SO MUCH to do at the Festival (like take a Cookie Stroll, check out the Candlelight Processional, listen to the Holiday Storytellers around the park, and more), we hope you’ll take a moment to gather ’round American Holiday Table with us! Menu American Holiday Table serves up traditional Thanksgiving flavors from its spot in The American Adventure Pavilion… and more! Returning favorites here include the Slow-roasted Turkey and Blackened Catfish, and this is also where you can find the SNICKERS-Doodle Cookie. 2024 American Holiday Table Menu A Beer Flight is also up for grabs, featuring Bah HOPbug IPA by Crooked Can Brewing Company, Eggnog White Porter by 3 Daughters Brewing, and the Peppermint Chocolate Stout by Playalinda Brewing Co. You may also order any of the beers individually. Grab a fork — and a Flight! — and let’s dig in! Eats If you didn’t get your fill of turkey with all the trimmings over Thanksgiving, then we have good news for you: the Slow-roasted Turkey is back this year for $6.25. Slow-roasted Turkey Accompanied with stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce, the Slow-roasted Turkey is a mini-Thanksgiving feast that you don’t have to share with anyone! GENIUS! This dish often ends up on our Best of the Fest list with good reason. Slow-roasted Turkey Now, if you’re not one who is okay with your food items touching, this might not be the dish for you since you do tend to get a bit of everything in one bite. But if you are looking for a great Thanksgiving-style meal, this is a great choice. Slow-roasted Turkey The turkey was cooked really well, and the cranberry sauce was the perfect combination of sweet and tart. The stuffing was light and spongy, and the green beans burst in your mouth. It is really everything you could want for a mini-Thanksgiving, and this is something we could get over and over again. Slow-roasted Turkey The Blackened Catfish with Hoppin’ John and Comeback Sauce has… well, it’s come back. It costs $6.75. And guess what? Last year, this one made our Best of the Fest list, too! Blackened Catfish And it’s back and just as good as ever. The salmon is SO tender and soft, you don’t even need to cut it. It isn’t as spicy as it has been in past years, but that might just depend on who the chef is. The beans have a great texture against the rice. Blackened Catfish Everything comes together really well in this dish. The flavors taste very lively, and all the spices are fantastic. We also really enjoyed the greens and thought they really helped bring the whole dish together. Blackened Catfish The SNICKERS-Doodle Cookie (which is, of course, made with SNICKERS bar pieces) returns to the Festival this year for $3.25. SNICKERS-Doodle Cookie We thought this cookie was pretty amazing. Not only is it a combination of two great things: Snickerdoodle and Snickers, but it is also executed really well. The cookie is warm and gooey, with a chewy texture and lots of chocolatey goodness. It is also a bit crunchy, but in the best way possible. SNICKERS-Doodle Cookie Keep in mind that if you’re participating in the Holiday Cookie Stroll, this one is eligible for a stamp, so have your Passport handy when your order it! Drinks What better way to try every brew at this booth than with the Beer Flight ($10.25)? This allows you to try the Bah HOPbug IPA by Crooked Can Brewing Company (priced at $5.75 for a 6-ounce pour), the Eggnog White Porter by 3 Daughters Brewing ($5.75 for a 6-ounce pour), and the Peppermint Chocolate Stout by Playalinda Brewing Co. ($5.75 for a 6-ounce pour). Beer Flight The Bah HOPbug IPA is certainly aptly named for its hops. If you are a fan of hoppy IPAs then you will likely enjoy this one! There is a sweetness hiding behind the hops and it’s nice and light. It’s an easy beer to sip and enjoy. Crooked Can Bah HOPbug IPA We would recommend leaving the Peppermint Chocolate Stout for last on this flight. It’s hearty and very rich, as a good stout should be. The peppermint flavor that comes through is a nice touch if you enjoy a good holiday peppermint treat… presented in a unique way! Peppermint Chocolate Stout Alas, the Eggnog White Porter is our least favorite of the three on the flight. The eggnog is a hard flavor to pull out in the heavier beer. Eggnog White Porter If you’re looking for a lighter option, we would suggest the IPA over this. If beer isn’t really your thing, you can also grab some wine at American Holiday Table. There is a Regional White Wine ($7.50) and a Regional Red Wine ($6.75) available. OVERALL We think this booth is a hit! The Blackened Catfish was wonderful and definitely one of our favorite dishes of the Festival. The Slow-Roasted Turkey is the perfect mini-Thanksgiving meal and all of the components were cooked so well. The SNICKERS-Doodle Cookie was also a homerun, and the gooey and chewy cookie was delicious. The beer flight has some unique beers included, and while the Eggnog White Porter wasn’t our favorite, we still like the selection. Thanks for joining us around the American Holiday Table!
