  1. Merry Mashups has returned to the Disney California Adventure Festival of Holidays for 2024, and this year, it’s serving up two new dishes! Merry Mashups The 2024 Disney California Adventure Festival of Holidays has officially begun, and there is so much to eat and do. From now through January 6th, 2025, you can try all the tasty eats and drinks your heart desires, watch unique entertainment, and more! Wondering just what you can eat at the Merry Mashups booth? We just tried everything there and are giving you our FULL thoughts. Menu Over at the Merry Mashups booth you’ll find two new food items — a Holiday Mash Bowl: Chicken, cheddar mashed potatoes, and turkey gravy with cranberry stuffing crunch and the M&M’S Peanut Butter Fudge Cake: Chocolate fudge cake filled with peanut praline and M&M’S Peanut Butter Minis, glazed with salted peanut butter, and topped with vanilla Chantilly crème. Now that we’ve seen the menu, it’s time to EAT! Eats First up, we checked out the Holiday Mash for $8.75. This NEW menu item is filled with chicken, cheddar mashed potatoes, and turkey gravy, with a cranberry stuffing crunch. Good news — we liked this one! It’s a tad salty, but then again, this is theme park food we’re talking about. You really can’t go wrong with mashed potatoes and chicken! Holiday Mash Bowl That said, there wasn’t a whole lot of gravy or stuffing here, but still, we quite enjoyed this dish. It’s a nice, warm, comfort food for the holiday season, and we enjoyed this dish! YUM! For dessert we noshed on the M&M’S Peanut Butter Fudge Cake for $7.50. This is another new dish for 2024, and it’s a chocolate fudge cake filled with peanut praline and M&M’S Peanut Butter Minis, glazed with salted peanut butter, and topped with vanilla Chantilly crème. Tempted? Us too. This was AMAZING but so, so, so, so rich. M&M’S Peanut Butter Fudge Cake The M&M’S Peanut Butter Minis reminded us of Reese’s Pieces, so if you love peanut butter and sweet treats, this is a must-buy. The top layer of peanut butter was essentially a really thick peanut butter, while the peanut praline had a nice crunch. Ugh — this is such a rich, heavenly dessert. Be prepared to share; this thing is FUDGY. M&M’S Peanut Butter Fudge Cake Drinks This year’s menu includes one drink — a Glacier Margarita made with Blanco tequila, blue curaçao, coconut syrup, lime and white cranberry juice, and rosemary syrup garnished with champagne bubble candies on a skewer. This drink was found at A Twist on Tradition booth in 2023. Glacier Margarita The drink is well-balanced and sweet, but be sure to mix your drink to really let all the ingredients blend together. OVERALL This booth did NOT disappoint! From the hearty bowl to the rich, decadent dessert, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. There are a few things we truly love to eat and will never skip, like peanut butter, potatoes, and chocolate, and this booth has it ALL! Bravo, Disney! Merry Mashups full spread That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! Click here to see FULL menus and food photos of EVERY. SINGLE. 4. Since the first Aulani Wish Week last year—a large-scale event at Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa dedicated to making wishes come true—it was clear this magical experience would be the start of something lasting. Families continue to be enchanted by Disney magic in Hawaii, with the most recent wish week concluding with an unforgettable Halloween dance party. The Heart of Aulani Wish Week Make-A-Wish kids from around the country came together for a time of relaxation and fun, but the heart of the week was the connections made along the way. Among the group of 22 wish kids was 8-year-old Harper from Connecticut. When asked what she was most excited about, Make-A-Wish learned that she couldn’t wait to meet Moana and soak up the warm weather – a wish that came true thanks to the efforts of Aulani cast members, Disney VoluntEARS and Make-A-Wish. “We got to meet Moana on our first full day here,” said Harper’s mom Jenna. “Harper had been sleeping, and when she woke up, she reached out and grabbed Moana’s hand. It was just….magical.” Another aspect of the week that brought Harper joy was attending Aulani Resort’s KA WA‘A Luau, laughing and giggling as she was immersed in Hawaiian music and dance. During their stay, Harper’s family even made a special bond with another Connecticut family. They later invited them to celebrate Harper’s birthday at a private movie screening, showing how these connections stretch far beyond Aulani. This is all thanks to Disney VoluntEARS and cast members who teamed up to create the most memorable week for these kids – something we know they’re passionate about! “It’s very hard in the real world to find people who share the same experience of having kids that need special things,” said Jenna. “We just made a whole family of friends of people that understand the same thing that we’re going through. That’s something we never expected from this trip, but it’s a better gift than we could ever ask for.” Whether it was through wish kids making new friends, parents connecting with other parents undergoing similar life experiences, or families connecting with cast members and bonding with each other, Aulani’s ‘ohana spirit was palpable, leaving everyone touched by the commitment to bring happiness to these deserving kids. Surprise Costumes Take Celebration to New Levels After a marvelous week of snorkeling adventures, a traditional lū‘au, meeting Moana and more, the wish kids and their families gathered on Hālāwai Lawn for the culminating Trick-or-Treat dance party on Halloween night where they were surprised with costumes and accessories donated by the Disney Store and our guests and fans across the country. It was sparkly tiaras, Stitch onesies and Marvel capes galore with each wish kid able to embrace their favorite Disney characters. This week has truly been one for the books… and we’re looking forward to many more! For nearly 45 years, Disney and Make-A-Wish have worked together to grant life-changing wishes for children fighting critical illnesses. With 155,000 transformative wishes and counting, Disney is honored to be the world’s largest wish-granter for Make-A-Wish. 11. There are a LOT of things at Disney World that make us smile (no wonder we’re addicted — it’s our happy place!). Disney’s Animal Kingdom From seeing Cinderella Castle (and, before you ask, NO, that sight never gets old) from having a magical moment with characters (we will ALWAYS stand in line for hugs with Mickey) or from seeing a baby animal in Animal Kingdom for the first time, we have a LOT to smile about ALL the time. Speaking of baby animals, Disney is now giving you a way to keep up with the NEWEST Animal Kingdom baby…from home! We previously told you about Disney’s big announcement about a baby Sumatran tiger recently born in Animal Kingdom. This little baby boy’s name is Bakso, and he’s playful and curious. He’s also getting a lot of love from his mom, Sohni. Now, these two are living backstage at Animal Kingdom, so you won’t be seeing them out in the wild just yet, but if you want to keep up with baby Basko’s progress, you can do so online RIGHT NOW. Via @drmarkatdisney on Instagram Disney just announced that for the first time ever, you can get a weekly behind-the-scenes look at Bakso and his mom as they get ready for his move to the Maharajah Jungle Trek. Yes, Tiger Tuesday is a thing and that means EVERY Tuesday is now going to be a happy one. Every week, you can tune into Disney Parks YouTube channel to see what Bakso is up to and find out how he’s progressing. So, yep, you can now see a baby tiger learning all about his world as he works on his roar (okay, couldn’t resist a Lion King reference, even though he’s a tiger). Via @drmarkatdisney on Instagram In fact, the first episode of Tiger Tuesday is up! You can watch little Bakso with his mom just doing his thing, which is mostly cuddling with his mom. He’s still pretty young, after all. He’s already grown so much since we first saw photos of him, though! So be sure to make a note in your calendar to tune in every Tuesday to add some smiles to your day (and who doesn’t need that?). Stay tuned to DFB for more. 13. Disney World is changing, and it will start to look completely different in 2025! Magic Kingdom There are so many new projects on the horizon at Disney World, and construction is expected to start in 2025. While you can plan to see construction across all four parks, new offerings will open in 2025, including two new lounges, Test Track 3.0, a new Magic Kingdom nighttime parade, and Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Not only are the parks receiving upgrades, but a brand new hotel perk will also debut for Disney World resort guests. With all these changes, these five Disney World trends are on the verge of extinction. As Walt Disney once said, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” The same goes for Disney World, as all four parks are about to see major changes over the next few years. These changes mean that these five Disney World trends are on the verge of extinction. Spaceship Earth Escaping to Tom Sawyer Island It was announced that a brand new Cars expansion would be coming to Magic Kingdom’s Frotinerland! While this new area will bring two new rides, it, unfortunately, means that both Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America will close. Tom Sawyer Island We love to escape to Tom Sawyer Island for a mid-day break to beat the crowds. While no closing date has been announced, it was confirmed that work would start in 2025. So take it all in while you can before the peaceful atmosphere of Tom Sawyer Island is no longer. Tom Sawyer Island Nighttime Cruising on the Liberty Square Riverboat As mentioned above, along with Tom Sawyer Island, the Rivers of America is closing, which means the Liberty Square Riverboard will not have any water to operate in. Liberty Square Riverboat At night, the Liberty Square Riverboat offers gorgeous views of Frontierland and looks so pretty when it is lit up. But alas, we know its closure is imminent. Liberty Square Riverboat Using the Liberty Square Riverboat for Photo Ops Dapper Days is a tradition at both Disneyland and Disney World. Each year, people dress in their finest and enjoy a day in the Magic Kingdom. Some Dapper Day outfits take inspiration from Disney characters and attractions in the parks. Walking right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A.! | @bektwirlsatdisney on Instagram from Dapper Day 2023 People love to use the Liberty Square Riverboat as a backdrop for their pictures, and unfortunately, 2025 could potentially be the last year to pose with it. Liberty Square Riverboat Quoting DINOSAUR Soon, DinoLand U.S.A. will see its first phase of closures on January 13th. The last day to experience TriceraTop Spin, the Fossil Fun Games, and the charming shop Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures will be January 12th. DINOSAUR The full Tropical Americas re-theme is set to be completed in 2027. While Disney has said you still have time to experience DINOSAUR, we know a closure date will have to be announced eventually. DINOSAUR Just like the stretching room spiel in The Haunted Mansion, DINOSAUR has iconic lines like “We’re not going to make it!” and “Let’s go get that dino!” While these famous lines will live on in our hearts, we fear we may not have much time to quote DINOSAUR in the parks. DINOSAUR Pre-show: Dr. Helen Marsh and Dr. Grant Seeker Less Crowded Water Park Days A new Disney World resort guest perk is set to debut in 2025! Guests will receive free admission to a Disney World water park on their day of check-in. Typhoon Lagoon Currently, Disney World operates only one water park at a time. Blizzard Beach just recently opened for the season and will remain open during the colder months. While people still visit the water park during the winter season, it tends to be less crowded. Blizzard Beach We feel that there will no longer be a slow season for Disney World’s water parks, as many resort guests will want to take advantage of this new perk. Blizzard Beach It is hard to believe that 2025 is right around the corner, and all these new changes are on the horizon. 15. Disney has just dropped some MAJOR news…but one thing was surprisingly missing! Magic Kingdom On August 14th, 2024, Disney held its earnings call (and released its earnings report) for the 4th quarter of fiscal year 2024. We got updates about the financial standing of Disney’s theme parks, streaming services, and more. But Disney completely ignored one HUGE thing… There’s arguably no story more important to the future of the Walt Disney Company’s future than the issue of Bob Iger’s (second) successor. After the first try with Bob Chapek led to Iger’s second term as CEO, there’s immense pressure on the company to get Iger’s second replacement right. This has led to changes on the Disney board and multiple reports on potential candidates from inside and outside the company in the lead-up to the 2026 CEO announcement. All of this makes it seem like a large (if expected) omission that nothing regarding the CEO search or Iger’s future was mentioned during the earnings call. Pandora You never quite know exactly what will come out of an earnings call and sometimes you may even be met with some surprises, like this one. That’s what was missing from this past earnings call and report, but what did Disney announce? Well, there were some big updates shared during this last report. When it comes to theme parks, the Experiences Division saw record growth numbers with “6% to 8% segment operating income growth compared to fiscal 2024, weighted to the second half of the year” and domestic parks in particular saw operating income rise 5% to $847 million, “helped by higher guest spending at the parks and cruise lines.” This has led to an overall $34.1 billion in topline revenue in 2024, a 5% increase versus 2023, an overall record for the division. The company suffered roughly $130 million in losses due to Hurricanes Milton and Helene. Magic Kingdom On the Disney+ front, the company reported 174 million Core and Hulu subscriptions and more than 120 million Disney+ Core paid subscribers, an increase of 4.4 million over the prior quarter. There was also an amusing “hot mic” moment on the call when Iger spoke about subscribers on advertising-supported plans vs those not. ©Disney Disney provided some updates about sports as well, noting that an ESPN tile will be debuting on December 4th, as part of a larger push for live sports integration due to the appeal of that type of programming to advertisers. In addition, Iger floated the possibility of an AI-driven SportsCenter that would provide curated highlights for a user. EPCOT That’s the latest update from Disney…for now. 20. We’ve finally taken a trip down the bayou! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom We’ve finally had a chance to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disneyland and there’s one question on the minds of many Disney fans: Is it different than the version in Walt Disney World? After all, while both are refurbishments of Splash Mountain, there were a lot of differences between the respective East and West Coast versions of that attraction. So, how different are Anaheim and Orlando’s versions of Disney’s newest E-Ticket? Well, there are a few key differences, and the differences start with the queue. Disneyland’s version of the ride takes up a little less space than the ride in Disney World, so the queue in Disneyland seems to have a little less stuff than the queue in Disney World. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure queue in Disneyland As far as the ride itself, there is one difference that might make it BETTER in Disneyland. We’ve seen a lot of complaints about empty spaces during the ride in the Disney World version of the ride that affects its pacing. Well, that doesn’t seem to be a problem in Disneyland. Because the ride takes up less space in Disneyland, there are no dark empty rooms and the pacing of the story is tighter in a way that makes the story flow better. Tiana animatronic Also, Disneyland’s version of the ride has three drops: two small ones and the big drop. The Disney World version of the ride has five drops total. The ride vehicle is also different (as it was when it was Splash Mountain). Disney World’s riders sit in a flume vehicle that seats two people per row. However, Disneyland’s ride vehicle has guests sitting in a single file with straddle style seating. You’re also sitting lower inside the log than in the Disney World counterpart. Up the hill Given the way the ride vehicle is set up, there are a lot of reports (and from our previous experience when this was Splash Mountain) that this ride is going to leave you a lot wetter than its Disney World counterpart. There are countless videos of early preview riders getting off the ride completely soaked. So if you plan on riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disneyland, prepare accordingly (pack a poncho, bring clean, dry socks, wear shoes that will dry quickly — or bring an extra pair). Note that the level of wetness could depend on where you are seated on the ride, but it’s a good idea to be prepared, just in case. Prepare to get wet So there you have it, there are some major differences between the versions of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland and Walt Disney World! You can find out for yourself when the ride officially opens on November 15th. Stay tuned to DFB for further coverage of Disney’s latest attractions. 22. The Walt Disney Company just held its earnings call for the fourth and final quarter of fiscal year 2024, and we learned quite a bit about just how the company is doing financially. Mickey Mouse Between the parks and Disney Cruise Line, streaming services, and other aspects of the company, Disney reported having “record revenue and operating income for the full year.” But, all that extra money has to come from somewhere and someone — and boy, do we have some news for you. During the fourth quarter earnings call, Disney revealed that the company had “record revenue and operating income for the full year,” and after looking into it, it’s easy to see why. Operating income for Disney’s domestic parks increased by 5% year over year, and much of that can be attributed to the fans and park guests. Magic Kingdom Disney said the increase in operating income is partially due to an increase in guest spending at the theme parks and on cruises, offset by higher costs due to inflation, new guest offerings, increased technology spending, and higher operations support costs. Still, that means Disney is making enough money to still make a profit despite these higher costs — and that’s likely because we’re simply spending more in the parks. Disney’s Animal Kingdom With so much growth and investment planned for the parks, current Disney CFO Hugh Johnston believes Disney’s financial predictions are modeled “reasonably conservatively,” as they are based on increased pricing and increased capacity. He continued that more park price increases are coming next year. This is nothing new, as we typically see Disney raise prices in the parks a couple of times per year — most recently in October. Hollywood Studios Disney feels “positively” about the future and believes that “the consumer is strengthening” based on the growth they saw in this quarter. The company’s expectation going forward is to see a “gradual strengthening.” But, it’s not just the parks where Disney expects you’ll spend more. EPCOT Since Disney+ premiered, we’ve seen multiple price increases for the subscription service along with the introduction of advertisements on the platform and tiered subscriptions. ©Disney Disney+ ended the quarter with 174 million Core and Hulu subscriptions and more than 120 million Disney+ Core paid subscribers, an increase of 4.4 million over the prior quarter. Streaming operating income increased to $321 million this quarter, compared to last year’s quarter which ended with a $387 million loss. Not only that, but Disney+ reported an increase in advertising revenue due to higher impressions, lower marketing costs, higher technology and distribution costs, and more. We also learned that more price increases are coming for the streaming service in 2025. ©Disney During the earnings call, Johnston remarked that Disney+ actually wants to move subscribers to the advertising tier — presumably to increase revenue from ads — and that price increases are designed to move people to the lower-priced tier, where the advertisements are aired. Instead of introducing ads to the low tier so that folks pay more for the higher-priced, ad-free tiers, Disney is hoping you’ll be discouraged by the high price and stick to the lower-priced tier, where you’ll be shown advertisements. ©Disney Just how much more we’ll be paying to visit the Disney parks and stream our favorite content on Disney+ remains to be seen, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on any announcements. 23. Getting to stay at a Disney World hotel is a pretty special experience. Coronado Springs club-level room There’s nothing like the immersion and the convenience to really get you into the swing of your Disney World vacation. That being said, not every room in a Disney hotel is created equal! So let’s talk about a couple of rooms you’ll want to beware of for your next stay at a Disney World hotel! As we were saying, staying at a Disney World hotel is pretty special. That is so long as you don’t stay in one of these rooms! Pool-View Rooms At first glance, a pool-view room sounds like a win, right? You get to step out to that sparkling blue water each morning, watching families splash and having a fun vacation moment…until you realize that it comes with an almost nonstop poolside cacophony of children, music, and general poolside chaos. Pool view at Disney’s Pop Century Resort Not to mention, pool areas can be open late, especially in the summer, which might make an early night’s rest a bit tough to attain. The noise doesn’t really settle until the pools officially close, and that can be a little too late for those with early-morning theme park plans. You’ll want to consider instead a garden or courtyard view! These tend to be quieter, with pretty landscaping, and without the hustle and bustle that comes with the pools. Boardwalk View Rooms at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is an amazing hotel that takes you back to an old-school East Coast boardwalk setting, complete with restaurants, shops, and lively entertainment right outside your window. But if you’re imagining a peaceful, relaxing stay, think again. The BoardWalk can be a pretty noisy place from morning till night. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn So, unless you’re a night owl who thrives on energy and background noise, these rooms just might be a little too much energy for those craving a quieter spot to unwind. The same goes for this one. You might want to consider instead a garden view room or one in a quieter section of the resort. You’ll still be close to the action but won’t feel like you’re in the middle of a 24/7 street festival. Rooms Far From the Lobby or Transportation Stops Let’s talk about Disney’s hotels with sprawling properties like Animal Kingdom Lodge, Coronado Springs, or the Caribbean Beach Resort. These resorts are massive, and some rooms can feel like they’re on the other side of the planet! If you’re far from the lobby, food court, or transportation stops, you could end up walking a mile just to grab coffee or catch a bus to the parks. Coronado Springs After a full day of walking around Disney, adding a trek back to your room is the last thing anyone wants. So, if you have little ones or just want to save your feet some mileage, avoid rooms at the far end of these larger resorts. Caribbean Beach Resort When booking, ask for a room close to the lobby, main building, or even one near a transportation stop. Granted, Disney can’t guarantee requests, but they do try their best to accommodate, and it’s absolutely worth asking for a more convenient spot. Ground Floor Rooms Ground floor rooms, especially those with exterior doors or patios, can sometimes be noisier than rooms on upper floors. While these rooms are super convenient for popping in and out, they can bring in a lot of extra noise from passersby or kids running around nearby. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Additionally, these rooms can be more prone to bug visitors. As you know, Florida’s got mosquitoes aplenty, and the last thing you want to do is invite them into your hotel room! So, if you can, aim for the second or third floor if you can. You’ll get the same convenience, but with a bit more privacy, quiet, and fewer critters! In the meantime, keep it right here for all the latest Disney news! 24. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of walking into the worlds from our favorite stories, and soon, there will be even more ways to immerse yourself in the world of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park when four all-new interactive shoulder banshees land at Pandora – The World of Avatar on November 21. After seeing just how much you all loved the previous version of this popular toy, our merchandise teams were inspired to think about how we can add even more details and ways to connect with this otherworldly environment.  “The banshee is such a huge part of the Avatar story,” said Amanda Rubinos Luna, a merchandising manager for toys for Disney Parks. “The Na’vi have a lifelong bond to this animal, and being able to visit a banshee rookery and choose one to bond with yourself is a one-of-a-kind experience that you can only get at Walt Disney World.”  Once you’ve taken a thrilling ride on the back of a winged mountain banshee on Avatar Flight of Passage or trekked through the Mo’ara Valley, make your way to the banshee rookery inside Windtraders, where a Naturalist from Alpha Centauri Expeditions will help you connect with your very own interactive shoulder banshee.  New Shoulder Banshee Features and Color Patterns Bonding with a banshee is a crucial step in the life of a Na’vi hunter on Pandora, and it’s important to pick the right one. These four new companions each come with unique colors and patterns (including glow-in-the-dark bioluminescence), so take a close look and choose with your heart. Each new interactive banshee is controlled by a wireless remote, allowing you to conveniently customize your banshee’s personality by directing their mouth, head and wing movements, as well as their authentic banshee sounds provided by Lightstorm Entertainment. Be warned: banshees can have a mind of their own, too! While traveling through Pandora and beyond, your banshee will notice and communicate with other interactive shoulder and wrist banshees that cross its path, making them more lifelike than ever. Your banshee will also react to being pet, so be sure to give them lots of attention. As you continue to bond with your banshee, you can personalize them even more with three new accessory packs inspired by clans from the world of Avatar. Dress them up in your favorite set or mix and match different head, neck and tail accessories to create a unique look! “I hope our guests enjoy the different variations and the ability to make their banshee their own with the new features and accessories,” said Amanda. “That interaction really extends the play and allows you to have fun with the product in new and exciting ways.” Speaking of accessories: You never know what your adventures will bring, and the new sling-style carry case makes transporting your banshee easy while you explore Pandora and neighboring worlds at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and beyond. Between travels, the new banshee display perch provides the perfect place for your companion to rest. The display’s mossy, rock-like details and native plant decorations take inspiration directly from the natural flora of this beautiful land, bringing a touch of Pandora to your home. Designing innovative merchandise that transports us into fan-favorite stories is no small feat. In Pandora, we say “sivako” (or “rise to the challenge”), and the talented cast members behind these new interactive shoulder banshees did just that. “I love making tangible memories for our guests,” said Amanda. “When you go on Avatar Flight of Passage, there’s something so magical about the connection you have with that banshee, and this is your way of taking that home.” Ready to form your own bond? Visit Windtraders at Pandora – The World of Avatar beginning November 21 to choose your banshee companion.  The post New Interactive Shoulder Banshees Soar Into Pandora November 21 appeared first on Disney Parks Blog. 25. Today is the Walt Disney Company’s quarter four earnings call, and we have been standing by to listen to all the updates! ©Disney | Walt Disney Company Headquarters Typically, during these earnings calls, Disney gives us a look into how the company as a whole is doing. Disney has so many new projects on the horizon, including new movies and TV shows, new attractions, lands, and restaurants in the parks. Plus, more Disney cruise ships are on their way! There is a lot to look forward to at Disney World, but soon, another theme park will open in Central Florida, and Disney addressed it today during the call. It has been a long time coming, and soon, Universal Orlando will have a brand new theme park called Epic Universe. The park is set to have five different lands: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. ©Universal The new park is in high demand, and Universal has implemented different ticket restrictions to help with the demand. When tickets and bookings for the new hotels went on sale, we experienced issues with the website being down since so many people were trying to secure their spots to be one of the first groups of people to experience this highly anticipated theme park. ©Universal Disney fans have started to wonder how Disney World will compete with the new park and if it will affect attendance. While Disney World is not building a fifth gate, many projects are in the works for new lands and attractions across all four parks. Some of these projects will be completed in 2025, and we can expect Disney World to be under construction for multiple years before all these new projects are open for visitors to enjoy. ©Disney || Tropical Americas Land coming to Animal Kingdom So how will Epic Universe affect Disney World? Well, today, Hugh Johnston, Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of The Walt Disney Company, said this about Epic Universe during the quarter four earnings call, “The early bookings that we have next summer are positive. The history of other non-Disney parks opening in Florida has been positive for Disney bookings.” Magic Kingdom So, it seems that Disney World is not too worried about the Epic Universe; instead, it sees it as a good thing as it will drive more tourists to visit both parks. Epic Universe officially opens on May 22nd, 2025, right before the busy summer season starts for Central Florida’s theme parks. Epic Universe We will have to wait and see how crowds are this summer at Disney World, and if Epic Universe has any effect on attendance, but for now, the Walt Disney Company does not seem too worried.
