  1. EPCOT is known for its amazing food options, but sometimes, with so many options, it can get overwhelming to know where to pick, especially if you’re looking for specific food options. We might have found your next restaurant to try for those looking for plant-based options. EPCOT’s The Land Pavilion We had the pleasure of stopping by Garden Grill Restaurant (one of our favorites in the park!) at World Nature to see if some of the newer changes made to the plant-based menu were worth a visit. We’re bringing you a full review, so let’s jump in and start eating! Atmosphere If you’ve ever been to The Land pavilion (where you totally should stop by and ride Soarin’ Around the World and Living with the Land), you might have noticed Mickey and his friends at a round restaurant—that’s Garden Grill! Welcome to Garden Grill! The whole restaurant slowly rotates so you can get new views of murals and areas of Living with the Land. For those worried about the spinning, don’t worry, it goes so slow you probably won’t even notice it. You should be able to walk around and eat your meal without any issues. Living with the Land down below! This is a character dining meal where Chip and Dale, Mickey, and more come up to your table to say hi. They love to sign autograph books and pose for photos as you enjoy your meal. Farmer Mickey! Since it’s in The Land pavilion, the restaurant is nature themed with greens and yellows poking through. This dining experience overlooks Living with the Land, and if you ride the attraction, you can see some of the restaurant. It’s usually a quieter location because it’s tucked into the back of the pavilion and has limited tables. Because of the round shape of the building, it often feels like your table is private since you aren’t squeezed next to anyone. Have a seat! Enough about this stunning location, because we need to talk about the menu! Menu Garden Grill is an all-you-care-to-enjoy, family-style meal. There are two platters, Chip ‘n’ Dale Harvest Feast Offerings and Chip ‘n’ Dale Plant-based Harvest Feast. Families can choose both or stick to one style and order seconds or thirds (or more!) of a specific item or the whole platter. Let’s eat! Both platters include seasonal vegetables, harvest garden salad, carrots and celery, home-style mashed potatoes, and farm-fresh green beans. A hidden Mickey! The Harvest Feast has cornbread, backyard grilled steak, rotiserrie-roasted turkey, and mac and cheese, while the Plant-based Harvest Feast has plant-based smoked “sausage,” pulled “pork” with southern BBQ sauce, and a farmer’s seasonal crumble with plant-based vanilla ice cream. Drinks The cost for each child aged 3 to 9 is $42, and for every adult, it is $62. We’ll focus on the plant-based menu today, but you can take a peek at our other reviews of Garden Grill here. Let’s start our order! Drinks We started our meal with the iced tea, which the server recommended. It’s freshly brewed in-house, and you can choose between sweetened and unsweetened. It’s made with a simple syrup, and believe it or not, it was one of our favorite parts of the meal! It gave us a homey, farm-fresh feeling and got us in the mood for our food. Iced tea We’re getting hungry, so it’s time to eat! Eats First, we had the Harvest Garden Salad, which was the same for both platters, but this one skipped the croutons. We didn’t miss them! The combination of pickled red onions, olives, and peppers was fresh and paired with a vinaigrette that was updated since the last time we went. It’s lighter, sweeter, and less acidic, which we loved. The salad We also had Allergy-friendly Bread and Plant-based Butter. These are the same ones used across Disney World, and they’re nothing unique, but it is nice to have some bread with dinner. Allergy-friendly bread and butter One thing that’s been added since our last visit is this little terra-cotta pot with fresh vegetables. The other platter came with ranch, but there was no plant-based dip available. We did really enjoy the raw veggies on their own but were disappointed there wasn’t a different option for the dip. Fresh veggies For the platter, we started with the Mashed Potatoes, and they blew us away! They’re the best plant-based mashed potatoes we’ve had at Disney. They were buttery and creamy and didn’t feel plant-based at all. We should have ordered more servings! Let’s start with the mashed potatoes The Seasonal Vegetables were charred but not burnt or dry. They were soft and moist and a really great addition to the plate. There wasn’t much salt on them, but they were still enjoyable. The Farm-Fresh Green Beans were the most flavorful and even better than the last time we tried them—and we loved them last time, too! The vegetables The Smoked “Sausage” is the same plant-based option used around the property, but we still enjoyed it. Our resident plant-based eater on the team said he’s had it a million times and is still not sick of it. It had a great texture and flavor and filled us up during the meal. So many good things Next, we tried the Pulled “Pork” with Southern BBQ Sauce, which didn’t quite win us over. This part of the platter replaced our beloved Veggie Loaf, which was one of the best plant-based items we’ve ever had at Disney. This pulled “pork” was jackfruit with barbeque sauce and it didn’t feel like a lot of effort was put into it. We’ve had a similar barbeque jackfruit sandwich with garlic toast at Regal Eagle, also in EPCOT, for $14.99, and we love how amazing it tastes, especially with the extra sauce. Considering this meal was $62 for a sit-down experience, we expected more, but this was only one element of the platter. Next time we’ll ask for more of everything else. Don’t worry — the dessert brought us back, and all is forgiven at Garden Grill. The Farmer’s Seasonal Crumble is currently apple, and we loved it. It was warm and buttery with a sweet caramelized finish. There were cooked apple slices inside with no peel, and the plant-based ice cream topped it off nicely. We wish we could eat this every day! The crumble With that, the meal was over, and we were glad we wore our stretchy pants! Nosh or Not We would recommend this restaurant to those who want… A slower and more relaxed meal with characters and all-you-care-to-enjoy options Multiple plant-based options in one dish, and to feel like they have a fully composed meal Fresh and light items that aren’t very heavy You might want to pass on this Disney World spot if you… Need to eat quickly to run to your next Lightning Lane Don’t enjoy fresh or raw vegetables Want more unique offerings outside of classic American Overall Throughout the years, Garden Grill has always been a win for us. This time, we loved the mashed potatoes and apple crumble, and only had one item we thought was truly lacking on the plate. It’s a nice, slow restaurant with a calming aesthetic. It’s an easier character meet-and-greet experience since there are fewer tables and it’s a longer meal. The spread! We always find ourselves at Garden Grill, and maybe we’ll see you there as well! 3. Sometimes, Disney World food catches you totally off guard—in the best way possible! Wailulu Bar & Grill! When we set out to compare the burgers at Wailulu Bar & Grill and Steakhouse 71, we had some pretty strong assumptions. The Steakhouse 71 Stack Burger has been a longtime favorite of ours, so we expected it to be the clear winner. But after one bite of the Wayfinder Burger at Wailulu, we were completely rethinking our rankings. Let’s break it all down so you know exactly where to go for the best burger on your next Disney trip. The Steakhouse 71 Stack Burger: A Classic Favorite Steakhouse 71, located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, is home to one of our go-to Disney burgers. The Stack Burger is made with a signature blend of beef, American cheese, lemon aïoli, red onion, and house-made pickles on a brioche bun. And as a little surprise, it comes topped with a piece of pork belly that isn’t even listed on the menu! YUM You can grab this burger for $24, and it comes with your choice of a petite wedge salad, parmesan fries, or pasta salad. We obviously went for the parmesan fries (because, hello, cheese). The burger itself was juicy, packed with flavor, and had that diner-style greasy goodness that we LOVE. The pork belly added a salty, rich layer that took things up a notch, and the signature beef blend leaned toward the fattier side, making this one seriously delicous bite. Steakhouse 71 Burger Now, let’s talk fries. They were loaded with parmesan, which we fully appreciated, but they were a little too well-done for our taste. If you love crunchy fries, these might be perfect for you. We’re obsessed. But if you prefer a softer, fluffier fry, just know that these are on the crispier side. The Wayfinder Burger: A Surprising Contender Over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Wailulu Bar & Grill serves up the Wayfinder Burger for $23. This burger features two pressed patties, American cheese, onion jam, and Volcano Sauce on a sweet bun, served with your choice of mac salad or sweet potato fries. We went for the fries, because, well, sweet potatoes are amazing. This burger is Moana approved From the first bite, we were hooked. The beef was incredibly fresh and had that made-from-scratch taste that you just can’t get from a pre-made patty. Honestly, we were getting flashbacks to the Steakhouse 71 Stack Burger, but this one had its own unique twist. The Volcano Sauce brought a slight kick that paired beautifully with the caramelized onion jam, which added just the right amount of sweetness. And let’s not forget the bun—it was soft and slightly sweet, complementing all the bold flavors inside. Sweet Potato Fries The sweet potato fries were a solid side choice. They were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and had that natural sweetness that made them extra addictive. If you’re a sweet potato fry fan, you won’t be disappointed. The Verdict So, after trying both burgers back-to-back, did the Wailulu Bar & Grill burger really surpass our expectations? 100% YES. Look, the Steakhouse 71 Stack Burger is still amazing. It’s rich, cheesy, and has that extra pork belly goodness that makes it stand out. But the Wayfinder Burger brought something fresh to the table. The quality of the beef, the balance of flavors, and that hint of spice from the Volcano Sauce made it feel like a hidden gem that more people need to try. If you’re looking for a solid, greasy, diner-style burger, Steakhouse 71 is the way to go. But if you want something a little different—with a Polynesian-inspired twist—the Wayfinder Burger at Wailulu Bar & Grill might just surprise you, too. We know it did for us! 5. If you’re reading this, congratuations! You’re one step closer to having a BETTER day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. How so? Well, if you’re one of those people who needs a salty snack on vacation, do NOT waste your money on a Mickey pretzel in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Gasp! How dare we speak ill of such a classic treat? Don’t worry. We come with solutions. The Mickey Pretzel! If you’re ignoring BaseLine Tap House, we’re here to put a stop to that behavior. It’s not just beer, people — we promise! This small restaurant is home to the iconic Bavarian Pretzel with beer-cheese fondue and spicy mustard, along with a lovely Charcuterie Plate. But there’s something else we need to talk about at BaseLine Tap House, something you might not know about: the CHIPS. You may have gathered this by now, but we’re big fans of salty, savory snacks at Disney World. Mini Corn Dog Nuggets? Sign us up. Cheeseburger Spring Rolls? SOLD. Loaded nachos? DUH. So, when we spotted the Avenue Chips, made with house-made salt and vinegar potato chips and beer cheese on the menu for $7, we knew what we had to do. BaseLine Tap House, don’t let us down! That sounds tempting! OK, so we had high hopes for this because A.) we love chips and B.) we love beer cheese dip. What’s not to like? Yes, it is literally just a bag of chips with a side of cheese dip, but sometimes, a simple snack is the way to go. Why complicate a classic formula? Avenue Chips The chips are thick-cut and crispy, with a light salt-and-vinegar flavor. The beer cheese is creamy and cheesy, with a hint of beer. If you’ve ever ordered the Bavarian Pretzel here, they use the same beer cheese for this snack. If you’re not typically a salt and vinegar person, don’t worry — the beer cheese flavor masks a lot of the tangy bite you might expect from the vinegar. On the other hand, if you want to taste the salt and vinegar, you might want to eat the chips by themselves. These chips are house-made! This was a fun little snack, and it was nice to try something different from one of our old favorite Hollywood Studios restaurants. Would we recommend the Avenue Chips over the Bavarian Pretzel? Probably not. The pretzel is a little more of a filling, hearty snack (and it comes with a second dipping sauce option!). But, if you’ve got a bigger meal coming up and want to save room, this could be a great option for under $10. All you chips and dip fans — this is for YOU. YUM! WE KNOW – there are SO many great snacks at Disney World! How do you choose (we don’t want to choose but will blow our budget on Day 1 otherwise)? We’ve got you covered! 6. With all the dining options available to you at Disney World, sometimes it can be a challenge to find the best bang for your buck. Capt. Cook’s If you’ve never hopped over to one of the resort restaurants on the property, you’re seriously missing out on some tasty bites that won’t leave your wallet completely empty. For example, when we get the chance, we love stopping by Capt. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and ordering one of the cheapest snacks on the menu: the Pulled Pork Nachos. If you’re looking for a snack (or even a small meal) that goes beyond the usual fries or chicken tenders, these nachos might be exactly what you need. So, let’s talk about what makes these nachos worth grabbing on your next visit! As we were saying, if you’re looking for a snack that isn’t the usual theme park fare, you definitely need to give the Pulled Pork Nachos from Capt. Cook’s a try! And at $10.99, you might want to grab seconds. What’s on These Nachos? First things first: these aren’t your typical nachos. Instead of regular tortilla chips, Capt. Cook’s switches things up with a mix of crispy fried wontons and house-made chips. This combo alone is a game-changer—super crunchy, slightly airy, and the perfect base for all the toppings. Pulled Pork Nachos Speaking of toppings, these nachos come LOADED. You get a generous portion of pulled pork, melted cheese, spicy mayonnaise, pico de gallo, and pineapple salsa. That mix of flavors is what makes this dish stand out. The sweet BBQ sauce on the pulled pork combined with the tangy pineapple salsa is such a perfect match. The crispy chips add a great contrast to the juicy, tender pork. It’s a balance of textures and flavors that makes each bite super satisfying. The Flavors That Work (And One That Misses) Overall, we really enjoyed these nachos. The pulled pork is smoky and flavorful, and the addition of the pineapple salsa gives it a sweet, tropical kick that fits right in at the Polynesian. The cheese is warm and gooey, which is always a win, and the fried wonton chips hold up well under all the toppings without getting soggy too fast. Pulled Pork Nachos Now, let’s talk about the spicy mayo. If you’re expecting a real kick of heat, you might be disappointed. It’s more creamy than spicy, so don’t expect any serious fire here. It does add a nice richness, but if you’re looking for that heat, you might want to ask for some extra hot sauce on the side. Pulled Pork Nachos The pico de gallo is another element that could be improved. It’s fresh and adds a bit of texture, but it doesn’t pack a lot of punch in terms of flavor. It’s mostly just there to add a little extra crunch, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it doesn’t stand out the way the pineapple salsa does. Is It Worth Ordering? Absolutely. If you’re looking for something different from the usual quick-service options, the Pulled Pork Nachos are a solid choice. They’re flavorful, filling, and fun to eat. Plus, at $10.99, they feel like a pretty decent deal compared to other Disney snacks that can run you way more for way less food. yummm We know that things like the Pineapple Cupcake and Chocolate Croissant are a little less expensive, but overall, the nachos are more unique, more filling, and a better value for the price! Pineapple Cupcake Would we order them again? Definitely. They’re great for sharing, they’ve got a unique mix of flavors, and that sweet-and-savory combo really works. If you’re at the Polynesian and want something tasty without spending a fortune, this is a snack worth trying. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! 8. Having a good park bag is always an essential when you’re visiting Disney World — and there are SO many to choose from. New Lug bags! We’ve recently become hooked on Lug bags, though, because those designs are INCREDIBLE. However, we also need a bag to hold our water bottles — because we also stress the importance of hydration in the parks. Well, Lug just created the PERFECT bag that will hold both your water bottle and act as a crossbody bag. Oh, and these bags are Dinsey-themed. Cute AND Multi-functional? We love it! The new bag design is called a Huggie and it’s meant to be both a water bottle holder and crossbody bag. We saw our first Disney version of this bag during the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival with the Orange Bird Huggie. ©Disney Well, more fun Disney designs are coming in this collection, and at a recent Lug media event, we got a first look at the new bags! There’s a Minnie Mouse Huggie Bag that features Minnie, along with her signature polka dots. Minnie Huggie There’s also an adorable Pooh Huggie Bag. Let that silly old bear hold your essentials and water bottle. Pooh Huggie The wonderful thing about Tiggers is that they have their own Tigger Huggie Bag. Tigger Huggie The dragon of imagination is also well-represented with the new collection. Yep, it’s a Figment Huggie Bag. Figment Huggie What’s really cool about these bags is that they aren’t just crossbody bags. They also have loops in case you want to attach them to another bag or your belt. Back of Huggie But that’s not all. We also got a first look at some of Lug’s upcoming Disney crossbody bags, including a Fort Wilderness Resort Bag featuring Chip ‘n’ Dale. 10. With rising costs and growing frustration among lifelong Disney fans, some may rethink a Disney World vacation in 2025. Magic Kingdom At the recent Annual Shareholder Meeting on March 20th, Disney CEO Bob Iger commented on the company’s plans to address attendance and price increases in the theme parks, stating that he was just at Disney World on a weekday in March, and it was rather busy across the property. Iger continued to say that consumer demand for the parks and resorts is still extremely high, and so is the value Disney offers — noting that it’s “tremendous,” especially when compared to other entertainment offerings like concerts and sporting events. Still, with new tariffs and fears about the stock market, Disney World could look a little less crowded this year. Despite Iger’s confidence in theme park attendance, there’s one big reason Disney World might be empty in 2025. The United States White House announced on March 4th that tariffs were issued on Canada and Mexico under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). These tariffs were designed “to curb the flow of illegal border crossings and drugs into our country,” per the press release. President Trump also imposed a 10% baseline tax on imports from all countries as a reaction to an “economic emergency.” ©The White House The decision was met with praise from Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, who told the Associated Press, “It may be rocky in the beginning. But I think that this will make sense for Americans and help all Americans,” but critics warn the move could lead to a decline in the stock market and retaliation from U.S. trading partners like Canada and the European Union. Via @speakermjohnson on Instagram The Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney, announced plans for Canada to retaliate against the tariffs issued by Trump “with purpose and with force,” according to BBC. Carney stated that the tariffs on Canada will “directly affect millions.” Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau echoed Carney’s sentiment, urging citizens to spend domestically. Trudeau said, “Now is the time to choose Canada…It might mean changing your summer vacation plans to stay here in Canada and explore the many national and provincial parks, historical sites and tourist destinations our great country has to offer,” per the New York Times. Could this mean that Canadians may cancel their trips to Disney World? Disney World According to the U.S. Travel Association, a national, non-profit organization representing America’s $1.3 trillion travel industry, these new tariffs could impact Canadian travel and spending in the United States. Currently, the U.S. Travel Association reports that Canada is the “top source of international visitors to the United States, with 20.4 million visits in 2024, generating $20.5 billion in spending and supporting 140,000 American jobs.” Even a 10% reduction in Canadian travel could result in $2.1 billion in lost spending and millions fewer visitors. The report notes that Florida is among the top five most-visited states by Canadians, along with California, Nevada, New York, and Texas. More specifically, local Florida news affiliate Click Orlando noted that statistics from Visit Orlando confirm that over 1.2 million Canadians visited Orlando in 2023. ‘Walt the Dreamer’ Statue in EPCOT So far this year, airline travel is lower than last year. An airline analytics firm reported airline reservations from Canada to Florida are down 76% this April compared to April 2024, according to NBC News affiliate WPTV. Orlando International Airport Disney executives have yet to comment on the potential loss of Canadian visitors. We will continue to report on the crowd levels and theme park attendance in Disney World and Universal as the situation continues. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. 12. Here at DFB, we’re in a not-so-secret love affair with Disney World lounges. Dahlia Sliders What better way to enjoy a sampling of small plates and delicious beverages, while also getting in a little R&R in the middle of a busy Disney day? There are several lounges spread throughout Disney World, both in the hotels and the parks, but some of them are near and dear to our hearts. Today, we’re sharing a full tour of one of our favorites — the Dahlia Lounge at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. The Dahlia Lounge is located on the top floor of the Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs. This rooftop bar is inspired by Spanish surrealism, and it’s evident in the architecture and design elements scattered throughout. Welcome to Dahlia Lounge Dahlia Lounge opens at 5PM each evening and typically stays open until midnight. Inside, you’ll find a stunning bar area, along with several seating areas grouped around small tables. The space is accented with lots of metal and glass detailing, and a variety of textures give it quite a bit of depth. Dahlia Lounge at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort The menu features Spanish cuisine as well as a few classic lounge items, like chicken wings. The Dahlia Sliders, Shrimp Pil Pil, and are some of the favorites for a savory bite, while the Churros and Cookie Flight dominate for those with a sweet tooth. Smoked Paprika Chips If you’re visiting with a small party or just want to pop in for a drink, the bar area is a great place to sit. It’s decorated in metal and wood with golden accents, and the bartenders here can prepare you a variety of signature cocktails or grab you a Spanish cava to end your night. Dahlia Lounge bar The warm tones in here really make for a relaxing atmosphere and a lovely way to wind down in the evening. There are TVs at the bar, but it’s definitely not that over-the-top sports bar feel that you can sometimes get around property. Dahlia Lounge If you’re not in the mood to sit at the bar, you can plop down in one of the more lounge-like seating areas around the restaurant. There’s booth seating in one area… Photos in the seating area …as well as some comfortable chairs and couches grouped around small tables in other spots. Each table comes topped with a menu so you can see what’s available to order. And sitting here, you’ll have a spectacular view out the windows! Seating The artwork is where you really find that Spanish surrealist feel. The back wall of the lounge boasts a giant mural, flanked by more of those glass burst light fixtures. Back of the lounge Since this is a rooftop lounge, there’s also an outdoor patio/balcony seating area! Here, there are sets of outdoor couches surrounding tables. It can get windy all the way up here, but the views are truly spectacular. Outdoor seating with a VIEW From the balcony, you can see all across Disney World property, and you might even spot some fireworks shows at night — there’s EPCOT in the distance! Gran Destino Tower truly has a lovely nighttime atmosphere. Here’s the view at night from Dahlia Lounge! So the next time you’re looking for a place to have a nightcap, make sure to check out Dahlia Lounge at the Coronado Springs Resort. We’ve had many a delightful night here! 13. We’re always trying to stay on top of travel advisories issued by the U.S. Department of State, and it was just a few days ago when another advisory popped up. ©Disney The Disney Cruise Line is the ultimate Disney vacation. With many ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, and more continuing to come, the experience is unlike any other! Whether you plan on taking a Disney Cruise, another cruise, or flying to those exotic island locations, there was a warning for a specific destination! The U.S. Department of State has issued a travel advisory for the Bahamas. As of March 31st, The U.S. Department of State has issued a Level 2 travel advisory for the Bahamas. They recommend that those traveling to the Bahamas “exercise increased caution”! They stated the update is due to crime, beach safety risks, and traveling with firearms. ©TripAdvisor The full country summary for the travel advisory on increased crime read: “Violent crime—like armed robberies, burglaries, and sexual assaults—can occur anywhere in The Bahamas. Most crime occurs in Nassau and Freeport on New Providence and Grand Bahama islands. Stay alert in the “Over the Hill” area in Nassau, south of Shirley Street, where gangs have killed residents. Stay alert in vacation rental properties, especially where private security is not present.”. ©TripAdvisor There was also a warning surrounding on beach activities. This included boating, jet skiing, and other beach activities that involve safety risks on the island. “Boating is not well-regulated” as injuries and deaths have occurred, and “sexual assaults by jet ski operators have been reported”, were stated. The State Department noted that there were safety risks with swimming, due to watercraft. They also noted, “Sexual assaults have occurred on and near downtown Nassau beaches. Be aware of your surroundings and stay alert in public restrooms.”. ©TripAdvisor Lastly, it reminded U.S. citizens that it is illegal to have firearms and ammunition in the Bahamas. That law is strictly enforced, so travelers caught with firearms or ammunition can be arrested or fined. 14. Okay, so, yeah, we talk a lot about shoes here at Disney Food Blog. Main Street, U.S.A. in Disney World It’s not that we’re obsessed with shoes (okay, maybe a little), but we’ve learned that when you visit Disney World, the shoes you wear on your trip MATTER. You’ll be walking miles and miles and MILES each day on concrete and your feet will take a pounding. The right shoe can make all the difference. 15. If you are planning your next Disney World vacation, you could be thinking about which restaurants you want to dine at, but there’s a popular one you might want to skip. Cinderella Castle Over at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, you can find plenty of food options, from snacks to quick service and table service restaurants. There is one quick service restaurant that we can usually find packed, but to be honest, it’s a BIG skip for me. I’m going to tell you why you should skip it as well and where else to eat instead. Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is a quick-service restaurant located just beyond the castle, heading between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. They serve burgers, chicken strips, salads, and similar items. I feel like it’s the most commonly eaten at restaurants due to its location, and it offers the basics that can please everyone in your group. But, I have a real problem with eating here… Cosmic Ray’s First, the food is mediocre at best, with the quality of the items being average. The fries are often tasteless to me, and it gives me high school cafeteria vibes. We recently picked up the Flame-broiled 1/3 lb Angus Burger topped with bacon, American cheese, and Sonny Eclipse signature sauce on a brioche bun, served with French fries for $13.99. We found it to be just ok and your standard theme park burger. We KNOW that there are more delicious options found at this park, but we’ll get there! Flame-broiled 1/3 lb Angus Burger Next, it is crowded here, especially during peak meal times. While this restaurant offers TONS of seating indoor and outdoor, it’s still not enough during busy times of the year. I have witnessed guests eating on the floor around the Christmas season. It is also pretty noisy in here due to the number of people and the large open rooms. If you need a break from the crowds, this is not the place to escape to. Cosmic Ray’s Seating Alright — I know this is controversial — It is still not worth eating here to see Sony Eclipse. Sonny Eclipse is an animatronic vocalist who performs throughout the day at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. I’ve been coming to Disney World since I was little, and he is one of my favorite memories as a kid. However, it’s still not enough for me to sit and have a meal here. When I find myself missing Sonny, I just do a quick walk-through to say hello and then off I go. Sonny Eclipse So, where is a better option for all of these issues? Columbia Harbour House. This nautically themed counter service restaurant is something that is not talked about enough. You can find lobster rolls, shrimp, salmon, and salads here that are usually delicious. It has a lot of indoor seating that is broken up allowing for more space and lower noise levels. It is convenient to get to in Liberty Square, and it has Mobile Ordering. If you haven’t been here before, check it out on your next trip! Columbia Harbour House With DOZENS of places to eat at Disney World, we know it can be tough to plan your meals. 18. It’s a wonderful day! We get to say three of our favorite words: NEW DISNEY PERK. That’s right — something new (well, it’s actually an OLD perk, but it’s officially back!) just arrived at Disney World’s Value Resorts, so if you’re staying at places like Disney’s All-Star Resorts or Disney’s Pop Century Resort, you need to listen up. Disney’s Pop Century Resort Starting NOW, Disney just debuted an exciting (FREE) hotel perk. When it’s time to check out of your Disney hotel, you can send your bags straight to the airport without the hassle of visiting the bag drop-off counter at Orlando Airport. Here’s how it works! There’s a NEW PERK available now, but this perk comes with a lot of caveats. This service is still in early testing mode (Disney is calling it a “pilot service”), so look out for additional updates throughout the year. But, for now, here’s how to qualify for Disney’s NEW Airport Luggage Transfer. The luggage assistance desk! If you are staying at a Disney Value Resort hotel, you can drop your checked baggage off with Luggage Assistance. This allows your bags to be delivered directly to your flight. At this time, this service is ONLY available for Southwest Airlines flights departing from Orlando International Airport. Have your luggage ready! This is a HUGE perk for Disney World hotel guests — you can save a LOT of time at the airport! Disney suggests that at the beginning of your stay, you should check in at your Disney Value Resort hotel and call or visit Luggage Assistance to take advantage of this service. It is also recommended that you leave your inbound Southwest Airlines tags on your bags. NEW PERK! On the day before your departure, check in for your Southwest Airlines flight online. Once checked in, you can drop off your bags at Luggage Assistance in the hotel lobby area by the required drop-off time (more on that in a second). You will need to provide a valid form of photo identification and show your boarding pass to drop off your bags. You can also call Luggage Assistance from your hotel room phone to ask for help with your bags. Disney’s third-party service takes care of the rest! Once your bags are collected and sent to the airport, you can track your luggage with the Southwest Airlines app. All that’s left is to head to the airport, skip the check-in line, hop on the plane, and pick up your bags at baggage claim when you arrive at your destination. BEWARE! The line could be LONG! OK, so when can we drop off our bags? Well, it depends! Disney strongly encourages you to drop off your bags the night before departure. But if you need your bags a little longer, here is the official bag drop breakdown: If you are flying before 1 PM: Drop your bags off by 1 AM the night before your flight If you are flying after 1 PM: Drop your bags off at least four hours before departure or no later than 1 PM (whichever comes first) Note that the Luggage Assistance desk is open to receive luggage from 5 AM to 1 AM. There’s a QR code with more information! As a recap, to qualify for Airport Luggage Transfer, you must: Be staying at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, or Disney’s Pop Century Resort Have a return flight with Southwest Airlines Fly out of Orlando International Airport Provide a valid form of photo identification and a boarding pass when you drop off your bags Keep in mind that this service does NOT include luggage transportation from the airport to your Disney hotel. Orlando International Airport We’re hoping that if this pilot service is successful, Disney will open it up to other hotels and add additional airlines. For now, though, it seems like this test is only available for Southwest Airlines flights. We’ll be sure to let you know when we learn more! This is a FREE service, which makes it a HUGE perk for people staying at Disney’s Value Resorts. 19. If you are flying to Orlando International Airport (MCO) for your Disney World vacation, you will want to follow these unspoken rules. Orlando International Airport Disney adults, there is a lot to navigate when flying to Disney World. Between delayed flights, airline issues, and more, there are ways to make traveling easier. There are obvious airport rules to follow when flying, but we came up with 4 Disney adult-specific rules at MCO. 1. Skip the Disney Store There are two Disney Stores located at Orlando International Airport, but you are not going to want to head straight for these when you land. Instead, we suggest looking here for any last minute gifts you might have forgotten to grab before your flight leaves for home. Orlando International Airport’s Terminal C We have sometimes found otherwise sold-out merch at these stores. If there’s something you were looking for during your trip that you couldn’t find on your trip, check here. You might get lucky and find exactly what you need. Disney Store 2. Have Your Transportation Booked There are several ways you can get to your Disney hotel from Orlando International Airport. You can take a shared shuttle like Mears Connect or use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. If you are traveling to Disney by yourself, Mears Connect is the most stress-free, cost-effective way to get there. You will have to book this in advance to ensure your ride, and give them your flight and hotel information. Mears Connect If you are traveling with a party, rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are often the best option. Splitting the fare between multiple people makes it pretty affordable, and you get the convenience of going directly to your hotel without waiting for a shuttle to fill up. You can actually schedule these in advance as well through whichever rideshare app you want. Orlando International Airport I’ve Used Every Airport Transportation Service to Disney World — This One Wins Every Time 3. You Don’t Need To Wear Your Minnie Ears You don’t need to wear your Minnie Mouse ears through security and onto your plane. We know you are excited for your Disney vacation, but avoid the ear headache as long as you can. Instead, opt for a Disney shirt or Loungefly bag, which will still let everyone around you know how much you love Disney World. Minnie Ears 4. Bring a Treat With You One of my favorite things to do is grab a Disney snack or two for the plane ride home. It makes it a little bit easier to leave the most magical place on earth. If you have the Disney Dining Plan, this is a great way to use up any leftover snack credits as well. You can purchase any of those packaged snacks you’ll find throughout Disney World, including gummy worms, pretzels, cookies, and more. Snack Wall You can also grab something from the bakery case to bring home to a friend (even if “friend” is really you — we aren’t judging!). This can even be a cookie from Gideon’s Bakehouse. Grab something that will bring you some happiness on your flight home, although we can’t guarantee no one will ask you to share. Sweet Treats While these aren’t rules you HAVE to follow, we hope they make your travels easier next time you are at Orlando International Airport. For more tips, be sure to follow DFB. 20. Is Disneyland lacking? The Disneyland esplanade — from here, you are feet away from everything Disneyland has to offer! The Disneyland resort doesn’t require the kind of transportation needed at Disney World, thanks to its more compact nature. Still, it boasts ample transportation with an effective bus system, trams, a limited monorail, and the Disneyland Railroad (if you want to count that). Still, Disneyland has one glaring transportation issue that doesn’t seem close to being fixed. The Disneyland Resort is fairly walkable in its entirety. Walking between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure takes about a minute or less. Walking between the Disneyland esplanade to EVERY Disneyland Resort hotel takes less than 10 minutes. The Downtown Disney District is LITERALLY seconds from both theme parks. With this in mind, transportation is limited at the resort. However, that doesn’t mean we couldn’t use MORE. Disneyland Monorail If you’re traveling around Disneyland Park and don’t want to walk, your best bet is the Disneyland Railroad, which has a station at nearly every corner in the park: Main Street, U.S.A., New Orleans Square, Mickey’s Toontown, and Tomorrowland. ©Disney If you want to get from Tomorrowland all the way to Downtown Disney and vice versa, just hop on the Disneyland Monorail. The Monorail If you want to go between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure? You’re making that trip by foot or ECV. There is no vehicle that will get you between the parks. In fact, now that the Red Car Trolley has been discontinued, there is no longer any mode of transportation within California Adventure to get you from the front of the park to the back. Goodbye, Red Car Trolley Therein lies the problem: California Adventure lacks viable transportation. A quick ride on the monorail from Disneyland to California Adventure could be a game-changer — especially if the station took you into the heart of California Adventure. Disneyland Monorail With DisneylandForward underway, Disneyland will be undergoing a massive expansion over the next decade that could include possible new modes of transportation. Could we see the monorail expand or the creation of something similar to Disney World’s Skyliner? One could hope, especially if that transportation extends into California Adventure. Concept Art ©Disney for DisneylandForward We’ll keep you posted if any transportation projects are announced. 21. From beautifully handcrafted, vibrant costumes to the lively, traditional sounds of goombay drums and brass instruments, young people from across The Bahamas recently celebrated Junior Junkanoo with their schools and communities. This year, Disney Cruise Line is proud to expand its support of Junior Junkanoo to help preserve this special tradition for generations to come. For several years, Disney Cruise Line has been the primary sponsor of Junior Junkanoo Eleuthera, where Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point opened last summer. This year, Disney Cruise Line was also the title sponsor for the return of Junior Junkanoo to the island of Abaco, where Disney Castaway Cay is located. Junkanoo is a longstanding Bahamian cultural tradition celebrated with vibrant costumes, joyful dancing and energetic music. Junior Junkanoo introduces young Bahamians to the Junkanoo tradition while creating a pipeline for young Bahamians to join Junkanoo celebrations in their communities in the future. To prepare for Junior Junkanoo competitions, students spend several weeks choreographing dances, practicing traditional instruments and creating costumes and parade floats out of materials like cardboard and crepe paper. “Like most of our Bahamian cast members, I grew up enjoying the sights and sounds of Junkanoo, and it’s an honor to support the event and help inspire young people to continue to celebrate and pass on the tradition,” said Joey Gaskins, regional public affairs director, Disney Cruise Line. “Beyond Disney Cruise Line supporting Junior Junkanoo programs with funding, we want to empower students across The Bahamas to use their creative skills and pursue their dreams.” Junior Junkanoo Celebrations in Eleuthera Since 2022, Disney Cruise Line has sponsored Junior Junkanoo in Eleuthera, helping to fund costumes, materials and prizes for each participating school, as well as travel costs for the winning team to compete at the national level. Over the weekend, students performed along Queen’s Highway, transforming Governor’s Harbour into a thriving community celebration. For the first time, cast members from Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point had the opportunity to join in on the celebration. In previous years, Disney Cruise Line hosted virtual workshops for students across Eleuthera, connecting them with the Disney entertainment team to collaborate on their Junkanoo costume and parade float designs. The students shared stories about Junkanoo traditions with their Disney mentors, while their mentors shared ideas with the young artists to help inspire creativity. Last year, the students had the unique opportunity to work with and learn from acclaimed Bahamian Fashion Designer Theodore Elyett, who designed Bahamian-inspired outfits for Mickey and Minnie Mouse and their friends to wear at Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. “Disney Cruise Line has been a dedicated supporter of our efforts to ensure the preservation of the Junkanoo tradition in our schools and communities,” said Clara Young, family islands activity coordinator, The Bahamas Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture. “Our students continue to look forward to this celebration each year, and their creativity and enthusiasm to celebrate their culture is truly inspiring.” Walt Disney Imagineers drew inspiration from Junkanoo to develop Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, which opened in June 2024. At the destination, guests from around the world can see local Junkanoos perform as part of Rush! A Junkanoo Celebration at Disney Lookout Cay. Families who visit Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point can also participate in workshops to learn about Junkanoo and how to create a costume from local Bahamians. Disney Sponsors Return of Junior Junkanoo in Abaco In Abaco, Disney Cruise Line supported the community’s return of Love Rush Junior Junkanoo as the title sponsor this year, covering costs of costumes, transportation and prizes. “Seeing the children of Abaco come together to proudly celebrate our beautiful Bahamian culture with their schools and classmates was very special,” said Candi Stubbs-Dawkins, family islands activity coordinator, The Bahamas Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture. “We are grateful for Disney Cruise Line’s support and for their commitment to helping our community, especially our children, celebrate this tradition.”   Investment in Youth Programs Disney Cruise Line is committed to investing in programs that support local youth and creating lasting, positive impacts in the port communities it calls home. Recent efforts include: Working closely with school leaders to identify and donate critical needs of local schools, such as supplies and books.   Providing funding to support career exploration programs and job shadowing opportunities for students through Junior Achievement Bahamas.  Teaming up with love.futbol and the community of Eleuthera to design and build playgrounds and sports spaces for kids to enjoy. Collaborating with the Agricultural Development Organization to build backyard gardens at the Ranfurly Homes for Children in Nassau and at several Bahamian schools, including Patrick J Bethel High School in Abaco, last month. Supporting University of The Bahamas’ Leading Light Programme, facilitated through UB’s Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (CeLEARN) and funded by Disney Cruise Line, which provides college-level hospitality and leadership training for residents of Eleuthera at no cost.  Sponsoring the LJM Maritime Academy scholarship program and summer camp as well as inviting students aboard Disney ships to learn about careers in the maritime industry.  Joining forces with the Bahamas Feeding Network to organize and pack meal kits to support families across its port communities in Nassau, Abaco and Eleuthera.  Visiting local schools during the holidays to spread magic by donating Disney-themed toys and surprising students with a special visit from Mickey Mouse. To learn more about Disney Cruise Line news and community initiatives, visit DCLNews.com or Disney Cruise Line Crew & Community on Facebook. For more than 25 years, Disney has introduced countless families to the beauty and spirit of The Bahamas and has provided significant economic impact while demonstrating a strong commitment to the environment and the community. Approximately 70 percent of the cruises offered by Disney have at least one stop in The Bahamas, all six of its ships are registered in The Bahamas and it is estimated that DCL operations contribute more than $70 million toward The Bahamas gross domestic product annually. 22. Are you planning on taking a Disney Cruise in the future? Disney Magic Cruise Ship There is a lot to prepare for in advance, and you might be thinking through some problems that could arise on your trip. You might be worried about getting seasick while on the ship. You might be worried about the weather and what to do if a hurricane is coming. We are here to help put your mind at ease. Before we get into the details, Small World Vacations’ services are 100% free and can help you book your Disney Cruise, as well as arrange special accommodations that you might need onboard the ship, find cruise line deals, and discuss your travel insurance options with you (so you feel confident in whatever decision you make. Unfortunately, life happens, and so does Mother Nature — even on your Disney Cruise. So if there is a storm, your cruise could be impacted by that. If it is a milder tropical storm, your cruise might not be canceled, instead, you might receive a whole new itinerary. We’ve seen this happen before. A cruise will have a scheduled stop at a certain port of call, but instead of docking, the ship will have to skip over the port entirely. The ship might move onto a full day out at sea to keep everyone safe and out of the storm’s path. Disney will send out emails with more information to travel agents and cruisers to keep passengers updated on the storm situations at hand. The Disney Magic In situations where a hurricane might be approaching, cruises can be canceled. If a cruise is cancelled, guests will receive a full refund. We have also seen that Disney will even offer an added discount on your next cruise for the inconvenience. If your cruise does get cancelled, you’ll also need to check out the cancellation policies for your airfare, hotel, rental car, etc., because they can all be different, depending on the company. Disney Dream at Castaway Cay This is also a reason you might want to get some travel insurance before your trip. Disney has its own Disney Cruise Line Vacation Protection Plan that you can tack onto your cruise line expenses, which can help cover your money in case of a trip cancellation, delay, medical emergency, or lost baggage. 23. Disney World is filled with some of the best rides and attractions, and it can be hard to fit all of them into your park day, especially the newer rides with the longest waits. One way to make sure you get on your favorite rides is to grab a Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Let’s talk Lightning Lanes Lightning Lane Multi Pass helps you skip the standby queue of attractions, shortening your wait time by potentially hours. Since you can make multiple passes a day, which attractions should you aim to grab first before the rest sell out? Let’s talk about it. Lightning Lane Multi Passes are available for most attractions throughout all four parks. Each park has its most popular passes, which you should aim for first. 1. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure At EPCOT, Remy’s is the first to fill up! This attraction, located in the France Pavilion, takes you through the kitchen with Remy and his friends. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure rider entrance Other popular options might be Frozen Ever After and Soarin’ Around the World, but if you’re interested in riding Remy’s, this should be the first pass you take. 2. Slinky Dog Dash Over at Hollywood Studios, this family-friendly coaster is usually the longest wait of the entire park! You’ll climb aboard Slinky Dog and zoom throughout Toy Story Land, which is great for a kiddo’s first roller coaster. Slinky Dog Dash If Slinky is on your list for the day, pick this Lightning Lane first, followed by Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. 3. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure This is Magic Kingdom’s newest attraction and is still so popular. This water log ride continues the storyline of The Princess and the Frog with great music and stunning animatronics. It’s located in Frontierland, right by Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure As the newest ride, it tends to fill up fast, so you should aim for Tiana’s first. Other attractions to consider are the Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Space Mountain. 4. Na’vi River Journey In Pandora at Animal Kingdom, Na’vi River Journey takes guests on a mystical boat ride into the glowing rainforest. This ride features one of Disney’s most impressive animatronics. Hello, Shaman! Another popular pass to pick up at Animal Kingdom is Kilimanjaro Safaris, which allows you to see different types of safari animals! You might be a little surprised by this list because you might be wondering about the ultra-popular rides like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Flight of Passage. Those rides are available through Lightning Lane Single Pass, which you can buy individually. The Disney Treasure embarked on its maiden voyage in December 2024 with all-new experiences that bring Disney adventures to life like never before, and there’s something for cruisers of all ages to enjoy. Here’s a look at some of the offerings you’ll find on board this new ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet: Themed Dining Experiences Rotational dining is a Disney Cruise Line tradition that allows your family to enjoy all three immersive dining experiences on board. Your incredible service team will rotate with you to a different table service restaurant each night. As part of your rotational dining experience on the Disney Treasure, you’ll be transported to the golden age of animation at 1923, assemble for two superhero-inspired dining experiences at Worlds of Marvel, and join Miguel and his familia for two lively nights of entertainment at Plaza de Coco. Broadway-Style Entertainment at Sea You won’t want to miss the exciting lineup of Broadway-style shows at the Walt Disney Theatre. Showing exclusively on the Disney Treasure is the brand-new “Disney The Tale of Moana.” This first-ever stage adaption of the iconic Walt Disney Animation Studios film debuted with larger-than-life puppetry, immersive set design, and an original song just for the Disney Treasure. Returning favorites include the beloved classic “Beauty and the Beast” and the Disney Cruise Line original musical, “Disney Seas the Adventure.” Disney Parks-Inspired Bars and Lounges The Disney Treasure is the first ship to bring Disney Parks experiences to sea with three themed bars and lounges. The Haunted Mansion Parlor is an immersive experience that brings the mysterious lore of the iconic Haunted Mansion attraction to life. Head to this ghostly retreat for a sympathetic libation or a chilling cocktail and watch the happy haunts materialize around you. If you love Disney Parks history, you won’t want to miss Periscope Pub. This lounge is a nod to the classic Walt Disney World Resort attraction, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. And located just off the Grand Hall is Skipper Society, a lounge inspired by the world-famous Jungle Cruise attraction. These spaces are adult-exclusive at night, but voyagers and skippers of all ages can visit during the day for a variety of family-friendly activities, so be sure to check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for the latest entertainment schedule! Just for Kids While adults take advantage of the bars, lounges, and other adult-exclusive spaces, younger crew members can enjoy age-appropriate, supervised fun at the Kids Clubs. Disney’s Oceaneer Club is home to interactive themed experiences for kids ages 3 to 10, like the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab where aspiring Imagineers can get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to bring Disney magic to life. Tweens and teens also have their own dedicated spaces, Edge and Vibe, on board to relax and unwind. Poolside Fun Whether you want to go for a swim or just get your feet wet, the entire family can make a splash at the pool deck with six pools of various depths and sizes. Once all that fun has worked up an appetite, you are just steps away from Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods. This poolside dining location offers a variety of quick bites from tasty American classics to Mexican-inspired fare, and even soft-serve ice cream.
