Are you ready for a LOT of change in Disney World? We know, we know, change is scary, but it’s really all part of Walt Disney’s visions for the parks. Well, 2025 is going to be a massive year of change for Disney World as we get ready to add entire new lands to three parks, get a brand new version of a current ride in EPCOT, get new entertainment (as in new shows AND a new parade) and more. However, there are still things we’re dreading about Disney World in 2025. If you’re looking for some help to plan your 2025 Disney World trip, be sure to contact our friends over at Small World Vacations. They can help you with all the confusing planning stuff FOR FREE so you can have the best Disney World trip possible. Okay, first, we have to say that there is a LOT of stuff to look forward to in 2025. The new version of Test Track will be opening in EPCOT, plus you’ll still get to enjoy all of EPCOT’s fun festivals. You’ll have a brand new Pirates of the Caribbean tavern to Yo Ho Yo Ho your way into in Magic Kingdom PLUS that park is getting a new nighttime parade. A new Zootopia show is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, while Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting a brand new villains show (yes, we are HERE for all the villains love). Plus we’re even getting the wonderful Moana-themed Island tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, which is set to open in late 2024, so you’ll have a new hotel option in 2025. That being said, though…we still have to warn you about a few things. Construction…everywhere…as far as the eye can see So Disney World has some BIG projects in the works, and you know what that means — LOTS of construction EVERYWHERE. Magic Kingdom is getting a Cars expansion and it’s going where Rivers of American and Tom Sawyer Island currently is, so expect that area to be quite the construction mess. There will also be construction at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which will be closed for a year-long refurbishment, plus construction BEHIND the ride as Disney builds its villains land. Construction has alreadys started behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Dinoland, U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be under construction in phases as that land becomes Pueblo Esperanza, a new Tropical Americas-themed land. Muppets Courtyard will be under construction as it gets reimagined as a new Monsters, Inc. Land. The area around Test Track in EPCOT will still be under construction until that’s complete (but at least it’s set to be completed in 2025). 3 Game-Changing Updates Announced for Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2025 Higher Wait Times There’s another big downside to all that construction. Many rides will be closed in the parks, which means wait times at other rides may be higher. This could mean that Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, and even Lightning Lane Premier Pass may be even more worth it in 2025. Wait times for rides could get longer It also means there will be fewer rides in the parks, but let’s face it — you’ll still never run out of things to see and do in Disney World, even if you stayed for a whole month! Planning to Go to Disney World On These Popular 2025 Dates?! Book Your Hotel NOW! Crowds With so much NEW stuff coming to Disney World in 2025, a lot of folks are going to want to see or do all that new stuff. That means you can expect crowds, especially when the new shows and the new version of Test Track open next year. So you’ll need to pack your patience if you’re visiting during those times. ©Disney Another thing you need to consider is that construction could mean that there will be certain areas in the parks that feel more crowded because everyone will have to walk around entire parts of each park. This is another time when patience will certainly come in handy. 4 Things We Hope Disney World Changes in 2025 Saying goodbye to rides Okay, so 2025 is going to be an emotional year, and let’s just call all those emotions inside Riley’s head because we are going to be feeling them all! However, Sadness might be our default because we’re going to have to say goodbye to at least TWO classic Disney World attractions, including Dinosaur since it will eventually close as Animal Kingdom gets its new land. Dr. Grant Seeker will be unemployed soon We’re also still in shock that we have to say goodbye to Muppet*Vision 3D as Disney World makes way for the new Monsters, Inc. land. The good news is that the Muppets will be headed over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster as that ride gets re-themed. DATE ANNOUNCED for First DinoLand CLOSURES at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Hurricane Season Hurricane season is something we have to worry about pretty much every year, but we’re a little more worried about 2025. Hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th, which means you could be in for some bad weather — or even park closures — if you visit Disney World during that time. This year was a particularly busy hurricane season, and we fear 2025 could be even busier. CMs prepping for Hurricane Milton However, one thing you can do is to be weather aware if you plan on visiting Disney World during a potential hurricane there and make sure you understand Disney World’s hurricane cancellation/change policies. Disney Reports $130 Million in Hurricane Losses Price Increases If there’s anything you can count on in Disney World, it’s price increases. The cost of everything will go up in 2025: hotel rooms, tickets, souvenirs, and more. The big price increases usually come in October — and those price increases are for food and drinks. Even Mickey bars get more expensive every year So be sure you pad your Disney World budget just in case those price increases hit during your trip. Is Skyliner Transportation Really Worth Spending More of Your Hotel Budget For? We’re still going to say this, though: 2025 could be a great year to visit Disney World. You’ll still get to experience a lot of NEW things plus, well, you’ll be in Disney World, so even if you’re dreading something like we are, it’s not like being in the real world and dreading things, right? If you are visiting Disney World in 2025, we hope you have an AWESOME vacation. 5 Disney World Trends That Are on the Verge of Going Extinct in 2025 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! It’s the most wonderful time of the year — the holiday season at Disney World! The EPCOT tree has arrived! The parks have all been decked out in gorgeous decor, festive eats and treats have popped up all around, and in just a few short days, the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays will begin. We can’t wait to eat and drink our way around the festival while taking in all the entertainment and more. Speaking of which, it looks like something exciting has popped up ahead of the festival! The EPCOT Festival of the Holidays kicks off on November 29th and we’re pretty darn excited to experience all that this festive event has to offer. Of course, there will be plenty of food and drinks, merchandise, and entertainment to experience — but part of the festival has arrived early! The Glimmering Greenhouses holiday overlay at Living with the Land is officially open now — so of course, we had to check it out! Living with the Land Glimmering Greenhouses Living with the Land gets all decked out with holiday decor and lights during the season! Glimmering Greenhouses features thousands of lights and familiar holiday bits and baubles — like these snow-er, sandmen surrounded by presents! Snowmen! This ride gets totally transformed into a tropical winter wonderland, complete with ornaments… Ornament …lights in the sand… Lights in the sand …and you can’t forget the Mickey reindeer made out of bougainvillea! Mickey reindeer As we floated on through the ride, we happened to spot a Cast Member putting up some additional string lights throughout the greenhouse. While the ride is still pretty during the day, it really comes to life at night when you can see all of the colored lights twinkling and shining bright! Cast Member putting up more lights This year, Disney is introducing Behind the Seeds: Glimmering Greenhouses! This limited-time walking tour is being offered during the festival, from November 29th to December 30th, and is $45 per person. Each tour lasts one hour and will take place at 6PM and 7PM daily. Last we checked, spots were all filled up for this tour but keep checking back — you never know if someone might cancel! Holiday displays And, Disney confirmed that EPCOT will host over 15 Holiday Kitchens (a.k.a. the food booths) AND a brand-new gingerbread recreation of Spaceship Earth at CommuniCore Hall. It’s going to be EPIC! Rosemary Christmas tree We can’t wait to check out all the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has to offer this year — so stay tuned for our full coverage. Traveling for Thanksgiving this year? Orlando International Airport Thanksgiving is one of the busiest air-traveling days of the year. There are a forecasted 50,000+ flights expected on Tuesday, November 26th alone, with many more coming throughout the week as everyone heads to their Thanksgiving destinations. If you’re traveling for Turkey Day, you’re definitely not alone. That’s why the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) is prepared and sharing useful tips for which food you can and cannot take through security with you! This year, the TSA is projecting to screen 18.3 million people from Tuesday, November 26th through Monday, December 2nd. This is an increase in people by about 6% from last year. The busiest projected days this week are expected to be Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday following the holiday. Allegiant at Sanford Airport If you’ve agreed to bring a dish to share to your gathering and are planning on flying to get there, you’ll need to be aware of what you can and cannot bring in your checked bag. Most foods can be taken through security, but there are a few that cannot. Knowing what you can and can’t take with you in your carry-on and being prepared can expedite the long lines expected at the checkpoints. Security Lines at MCO A tip the TSA provides is simple. “If it’s a solid item, then it can go through a checkpoint. However, if you can spill it, spread it, spray it, pump it, or pour it, and it’s larger than 3.4 ounces, then it should go in a checked bag.” Food items will also often need additional screening, so be prepared by placing them in easily accessible locations of your carry-on so you can quickly remove them and place them in a bin at the checkpoint. Crowds at security To keep things relatively simple, TSA provided a list of foods you can take through a security checkpoint and those that you cannot. Thanksgiving foods that can be carried through a TSA checkpoint Baked goods — Homemade or store-bought pies, cakes, cookies, brownies and other sweet treats Meats — Turkey, chicken, ham, steak. Frozen, cooked or uncooked Stuffing — Cooked, uncooked, in a box or in a bag Casseroles — Traditional green beans and onion straws or something more exotic Mac ‘n Cheese — Cooked in a pan or traveling with the ingredients to cook it at your destination Fresh vegetables — Potatoes, yams, broccoli, green beans, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, beets, radishes, carrots, squash, greens Fresh fruit — Apples, pears, pineapple, lemons, limes, cranberries, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, kiwi Candy Spices Also, if you plan to bring cold or frozen foods, the ice used to keep them cold must be frozen solid in order for them to go through security and not melted. Keeping foods properly stored and chilled is important in preventing foodborne illness, so consider this when packing as well. ©TSA Thanksgiving foods that should be carefully packed with your checked baggage Cranberry sauce — Homemade or canned are spreadable, so check them. Gravy — Homemade or in a jar/can Wine, champagne, sparking apple cider Canned fruit or vegetables — It’s got liquid in the can, so check them. Preserves, jams, and jellies — They are spreadable, so it is best to check them. Maple syrup ©TSA If you have questions prior to getting to security about what you can and cannot take through the checkpoints, you can download the myTSA app and check the “What can I bring?” feature. Or you can ask on Twitter or Facebook at @AskTSA. You can also send your questions to AskTSA by texting “Travel” to 275-872. ©AP Being properly prepared and packed can help keep security lines moving during these very busy holiday travel days. Consider these tips and rules as you prepare to fly this week! Have a great Thanksgiving and safe travels! For more travel news, keep following DFB! One of Disney World’s most recently opened restaurants is bringing a festive feel for the holidays! Champagne Room decorations The holiday season has arrived in Disney World, and we’re big fans of hunting down all of the holiday happenings going on inside AND outside of the parks. If you find yourself in search of another Christmasy thing to do after visiting the gingerbread displays and treats at Disney World hotels, getting your jolly on at Disney World’s after hours parties, and scoping out all of the decorated Christmas trees at Disney Springs, there’s one more stop we’re begging you to make on your holiday tour. One of Disney World’s newest restaurants quickly won us over with its fantastical theming, and clean hues of white, blush pink, and gold. The Cake Bake Shop has recently rose high in our ranks for quality of food at Disney World but its attention to detail is what initially drew us in. Garland The restaurant’s commanding presence at the end of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort was a welcomed site to take in when it opened this past fall, and we instantly fell in love with its decorative touches with Fall leaves and tiny pumpkins. Seasonal decorations But, as in true Disney World fashion, we noticed even MORE change to the beautiful restaurant ushered in with the rest of the Christmas decor to its home hotel. As you approach The Cake Bake Shop restaurant, you’ll notice a tiny letter box where you can drop off your letter to Santa while visiting. Letter box As you step through the restaurant’s threshold you’re immediately greeted by a flocked Christmas tree near the main host stand… Entrance Christmas tree …and as you’re walked through the dining room you’ll encounter glistening light fixtures… Light fixtures …a turning scenic landscape over the main dining room’s crown that will rotate to reveal a few deer… Deer …bears… Bears …and SANTA overhead! Santa In the same room, you’ll also spot a white bear and its cub which will move if you keep your eye on them long enough… Mama Bear and her cub …as well as a few other Christmas trees. More trees More themed holiday decor will be found by the bar… At the bar …the Champagne Room… Champagne Room decor …the Garden View Room… Garden View Room decor …and the elegant Lavender Room. Lavender Room decor We love how the theming runs through the entire restaurant and flows through each of the dining rooms keeping them connected yet with a little of their own unique personality to offer. We’re always talking about what’s new, what’s changed, and what you need to know about for your next Disney World vacation. Recently, Disney World announced that a classic Hollywood Studios attraction is CLOSING. ©Disney That’s right, we’ll soon be saying goodbye to Muppet*Vision 3D and all of Muppets Courtyard as the area gets replaced with a Monsters, Inc.-themed land. As a consolation, Disney will be replacing Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with a Muppets coaster. But even with that change, the loss of Muppet*Vision is pretty controversial — and fans have a lot of questions and concerns! Why Didn’t They Replace Lightning McQueen With Muppets? One of the first questions that people started asking when the Muppets news was released was — “why didn’t they replace Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy with Muppet*Vision 3D instead of making a new Villains show?” In case you forgot, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy (next to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster) was closed earlier this year to make way for a new Disney Villains stage show. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy If they had moved Muppet*Vision to the Sunset Showcase, then we’d be able to keep the beloved show AND have it next door to the new coaster. So what gives? Well, ultimately this is a question we won’t know the true answer to unless Disney tells us, but it seems like now is a great time for the company to start hyping fans up about the Disney Villains. ©Disney With a Villain-themed land coming to Magic Kingdom, this theater show could help gauge interest in the classic Disney characters and get people in the mood for the new addition. We’ll just have to wait and see how it performs! Will the Miss Piggy Fountain Disappear? One of the most iconic parts of Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios is the Miss Piggy Statue of Liberty fountain. It’s located smack dab in the front of the land and features the pink diva herself…but dressed as Lady Liberty! Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios The fountain has been the backdrop for many a family photo over the years, so we’re left wondering if Disney will preserve it or move it somehow. We’d love to see Miss Piggy for many years to come! Why Didn’t They Gut Animation Courtyard Instead? When it was announced that Hollywood Studios would be getting a Monsters, Inc. land, fans had generally narrowed down the location to one of two spots — Muppets Courtyard or Animation Courtyard. Many people fought for the Pixar additions to be placed in Animation Courtyard, since the land hasn’t seen too much action in recent years. But alas, we’ll be saying goodbye to Muppets Courtyard with two restaurants and a theater show instead. Animation Courtyard So why not Animation Courtyard? Well, it likely has to do with the space. It has already been announced that a new Little Mermaid show will be coming to one of the theaters there, so that space is out of commission. On top of that, Animation Courtyard is a bit more landlocked by other parts of the park than Muppets Courtyard is. To add the Monsters, Inc. rollercoaster to Muppets Courtyard, Disney may be able to cut into some backstage and parking areas. That’s space that they’d be severely limited on elsewhere in the park. Fans Can’t Agree on the Perfect Musical Guest As part of the Muppets takeover of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, we’ll be getting some NEW music for the ride! The coaster is currently themed to Aerosmith, but the new announcement stated that the Muppets would be teaming up with some of “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival. ©Disney So who are these stars? Disney hasn’t announced yet, but even here at DFB, we can’t seem to agree on who we think would be best for the role. You’ll want someone with the potential to really make the ride ROCK, but you’ll also want a decently popular name to draw attention. Who do you think it could be? We’ve got a lot of mixed opinions! How Will Muppet*Vision 3D Be Preserved? When it was announced that Muppet*Vision 3D would be going away, we were immediately heartbroken. But then, we got a bit of news that softened the blow. According to Disney, they are “having creative conversations and exploring ways to preserve the film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future.” Kermit! That’s so exciting! How could they preserve the show? Well, in a few ways. Is it possible we could get the short film on Disney+ to watch at our leisure, or maybe it’ll appear somewhere else in Disney World? Disney hasn’t specified details yet, but it’s an important piece of legacy for Jim Henson fans. The Jim Henson Company even released a statement about the closure, saying, “As we learn of the show’s upcoming closure in its current form at Disney’s Hollywood Studios , we look forward to Muppet*Vision 3D’s next act.” We’re Losing a Really Cool Themed Restaurant And finally, we’ve got to talk about the other reason Muppet fans are sad — we’re losing a super fun restaurant in the process! While PizzeRizzo may not be known for the best food in town, this spot definitely has some spectacular theming and we’ll be sad to see it go. PizzeRizzo From the rat wedding room to the old-school pizza parlor vibes, we’re definitely going to miss this place. Thankfully, you’ll still be able to get puffy pizza at Catalina Eddie’s. That’s a wrap on our list of comments right now, but we’ll make sure to keep you updated with any more news about this transformation! Stay tuned to DFB for the latest! Disney World’s Lightning Lane Premier Pass may still be new, but it’s already proven to be incredibly popular. ©Disney The new skip-the-line service allows each guest who purchases it one one-time entry to each Lightning Lane experience in the selected theme park — but at a pretty hefty price. Disney will unveil a brand-new take on a classic EPCOT ride in 2025! Test Track In June 2024, Test Track closed to be reimagined as a new, third version of the ride. The new iteration of the attraction will take inspiration from its predecessor, World of Motion, and is currently scheduled to debut in 2025. And, if that isn’t enough to get you hyped for the revamp, there are also 6 BIG additions coming to Test Track 3.0! During the D23 fan event, Disney revealed more details about the Test Track retheme. They said Walt Disney Imagineering is collaborating with Chevrolet to “push innovation forward and celebrate humanity’s enduring drive on the thrilling road to a brighter tomorrow.” ©Disney The ride will include new show scenes that showcase technological advances and how our lifestyles and relationships to mobility connect everyone. ©Disney But guests will actually get to experience six (!!) new additions before they even get to the ride itself! Test Track cars Disney also announced that the queue will feature six exhibits. Each room will celebrate both the vehicles and the people behind them that innovate and help take people to the next chapter in our motion journey. Test Track Construction September 2024 We love hearing about these additions to the queue because it reminds us of some of the old-school “edutainment” that EPCOT was once known for. There are plenty of changes going on at Disney World right now — and we’re pretty darn excited about them! Welcome to the Most Magical Place on Earth! Over at Animal Kingdom, the new Tropical Americas Land is already underway, and Villains Land and Cars attractions in Magic Kingdom are coming in the future, too. Now that we officially know where the new Monsters, Inc. Land coming to Hollywood Studios will be located, we’re diving into the concept art to see what we can decode. Disney has officially announced that Monsters, Inc.Land will be located on the south side of Grand Avenue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios — also known as Muppets Courtyard. As you might have guessed, with this change, we’ll have to say goodbye to Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, Mama Melrose, and the bathrooms in this area. ©Disney The story of the land will pick up after the events of the popular Pixar film, and humans have now been invited to visit the world of Monsters, Inc. Disney shares that here, “you’ll be able to stroll the streets alongside some of your favorite monsters” and even visit the Laugh Factory! ©Disney Not only that, but the new Monsters, Inc. land will feature Disney’s VERY FIRST suspended coaster, which “will put you right in the middle of the monster action. Just be sure to fill out your paperwork! Roz is always watching…” In addition to this brand-new coaster, Disney recently announced that Monsters, Inc. land will also have a new theater show (but just what they mean by “new” remains a mystery — more on that later!) ©Disney Disney recently revealed new concept art for the retheme and we think we’ve got a pretty good idea of what might be in store after ferociously zooming in all over the place. Since we know Monsters, Inc. land will be taking over what is currently the Muppets Courtyard area on the south side of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we can use that current land as a guide. ©Disney In the back, where Mama Melrose’s currently sits, appears to be Harryhausen’s — the restaurant Mike Wazowski takes Celia Mae out on a date for her birthday. It is a Japanese restaurant that is notoriously hard to get a reservation to (but we’re hoping that isn’t the case for the real thing!) While Disney hasn’t officially confirmed that this restaurant will be coming to the new Monsters, Inc. Land, the fact that it is in multiple concept art drawings leads us to believe it is pretty likely we will see a Harryhausen’s Restaurant in this new area. A sushi restaurant would make a great addition to Hollywood Studios! ©Disney Disney also recently revealed that Monsters, Inc. land will be home to a “whole new theater show,” which was previously unknown to the public. From what it looks like, this show will likely take over the theater where Muppet*Vision 3D is currently located. This would make sense, as Disney would just have to change over the theming and not build an entirely new theater. Unfortunately, that’s pretty much all we know about this show for now. But, we did notice something interesting in the latest concept art… ©Disney …that appears to be a billboard advertising Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor at Magic Kingdom. Now, it’s entirely possible that this is just an in-universe joke — especially since Disney specified this would be a “new” show, but wouldn’t it make sense for Laugh Floor to move from Magic Kingdom to Hollywood Studios for this new land? ©Disney Don’t worry, though, this isn’t the end of The Muppets in Hollywood Studios. In fact, The Muppets will be moving to Sunset Boulevard and taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster! The Muppets will be the star of the show on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and will be teaming up with some of “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.” ©Disney When it comes to Muppet*Vision 3D’s impending closure, Disney said, “As we move forward with these changes, we are having creative conversations and exploring ways to preserve the film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future.” Could this mean the show will wind up on Disney+? Or, perhaps Disney will use parts of Muppet*Vision 3D in the new Monsters, Inc. show. ©The Jim Henson Company We’re excited to see how Disney will team up with “some of music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.” The current Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster stars rock legends Aerosmith, but it will be interesting to find out who Disney gets to collaborate with on this ride. In the meantime, we’ll be sure to keep an eye out for the latest news about Monsters, Inc. land, the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster retheme, and more. It’s been a few months since we first heard about a diabolical-sounding invention called the toilet timer and learned that they were installed at a popular tourist destination. ©Getty Images Back in June, this invention made headlines when it was reported that the Yungang Buddhist Grottoes in China, a stunning tourist destination that boasts 51,000 statues carved into 252 caves and niches — all around 1,500 years old — had installed toilet timers in their restrooms. As the name implies, there is a literal timer above the toilet, and you’ve only got a limited time to, well, do your business. This sparked WILD backlash, but primarily overseas here in the United States, not over in China, where it was taking place. We’ve spent months thinking about this (no, we’re not kidding) and decided to really dive into some research. As it turns out, China was FAR from the first place to implement the concept of timed bathroom visits — they’ve actually been around in the United States alone (in a slightly less conspicuous form) for at least 16 years. When news of toilet timers hit the news, a staff member at the site in China said that they were introduced to help cope with the increase in visitors that they were seeing and assured people that no one would be kicked out of the bathroom at any time. However, they went on to say that they’re also a safety measure that ensures “the well-being of all guests, in case some guests use the toilet for an extended period and an emergency occurs,“, according to CNN. The timer at the top of the stall would show that the person had been in there for an extended period of time, and if someone were to check on them and receive no response, they might be able to help with a medical emergency. ©Weibo That was really the part that got us curious because it is true that medical situations can happen anywhere, including a restroom stall, and oftentimes, they’re silent, and no one may know. So, has anyone else adapted this technique or something similar in the name of safety? Well, the answer is YES, especially over in Europe. In Europe, more specifically in Paris, you’ll find single-stall restrooms called Sanisettes. That’s right. Toilet timers aren’t limited to China, though for now, it seems that unique style is exclusive to the Yungang Buddhist Grottoes in China. ©Medium In Paris, for example, the toilet timer is a little less obvious (luckily). The trick is here that unlike many restaurants or stores or public places in the United States that will allow you to use their restroom, you need to pay to use many Sanisettes. Not all of them still require coins, but the ones that don’t have another safety feature to discourage illicit activity — yep, the door will POP OPEN and UNLOCK after 15 minutes. ©Wikipedia As our research continued, we found an article from the non-profit newsroom Gothamist dating back to 2008 (!!!), in which they reported that New York City debuted Automatic Public Toilets (APTs) over a decade ago. Surprise! Even America has a version of toiler timers. These APTs cost 25 cents to use when they debuted and ALSO had a 15-minute time limit, again to discourage any non-bathroom-related activity. To be specific, “After 12 minutes of use, an acoustic alarm and red flashing lights go off for three minutes before the door opens.” There may not be a physical sign like the ones in China, but that sounds like a toiler timer to us! ©Gothamist So, while the physical TIMER aspect is still relatively new, it was possibly inspired by these self-cleaning public restroom stalls seen in the past. The idea has been around for quite some time, and it means that we could continue to see the idea develop further at additional locations in the future. We’ve got a new update in EPCOT to share with you and it’s quite a notable change! Spaceship Earth EPCOT at Disney World has seen many changes recently, with extending its popular Encanto sing-along show, getting ready for the Festival of the Holidays to start soon, and even updating ride scenes in one of our favorite attractions. While this change might be a little more subtle than the last, it’s one we’re very excited about and it seems a lot of other folks are already, too! It’s true that there’s a lot of NEW going around EPCOT right now and this next change we’ve spotted is one that everyone seems to be clamoring over! When Disney World announced that Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana would be coming to EPCOT’s World Nature, we figured that a Moana meet and greet wouldn’t be too far behind. Te Fiti as seen in EPCOT’s Journey of Water Then, shortly after, we DID finally have a second location to meet Moana and talk to her all about her journeys with Hei Hei, Pua, and the well-meaning Demi-God Maui. And, of course, she looked JUST like she did in her debut film. Moana in her original outfit Now that the theatrical release of Moana 2 is quickly approaching, Disney World has CHANGED Moana’s meet and greet! She now will meet you in the same outfit she’s sporting in Moana 2, the second movie to feature the voyager-descendant Disney princess. And we’ve gotta say we’re loving this new look for her! Moana’s new outfit This new outfit still shows off Moana’s signature tan, red, and burgundy colors in her skirt’s wrap but the top piece looks more festive and a bit more regal for the next village Chief in line! Signing autographs But don’t be deceived by her new appearance — she’s still the same quirky, lovable Moana we all know at heart. Hi, Moana! If you’re looking to say “hello” to Moana in person on your next Disney World visit, you can find her stationed at various times across the walkway from the Journey of Water, Inspired By Moana attraction’s entrance and adjacent to the Coral Reef Restaurant. Just check the My Disney Experience app throughout the day to see when you can expect her to be out. However, you’ll want to carve out some time as it is a super popular character experience right now. That’s a long line to meet her It seems this new update for Moana has quickly become very popular and when we tried to visit her at 1:50PM her line was already so long, that the Cast Members assisting her had to cut the line for that particular meeting time before it ever began. Just looking at that line will tell you she’s in for telling stories about quite a few of her adventures this outing alone! We also overheard them telling folks to try again to visit her the next time she was scheduled to be out which was at 3PM. Meeting times will be posted outside of her meeting place We’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney World news, updates, and changes!
