D23 is returning to the Most Magical Place on Earth for the biggest Disney fan event of 2025… Destination D23! D23 2024 Disney shared that the event is “more than doubling in size in 2025,” which may be the reason for the change of venue from the Contemporary — where Destination D23 has been held in the past — to Coronado Springs. As far as what to expect, well, Disney says that “fans can look forward to a weekend filled with exclusive presentations from Walt Disney Archives and the Walt Disney Studios; spectacular entertainment; and peeks into all the worlds of Disney, along with a variety of unique interactive and shopping experiences.” ‘Frozen 3’ announcement at D23 2024 For now, Disney hasn’t shared what ticket types will be offered, how much they will cost, or when they will go on sale. But, you can book a room at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort via a special room block if you’re interested in attending the conference “for a seamless stay.” Members can reserve their rooms by clicking this link or calling 407.939.4686. Recently, Disney World announced that a classic Hollywood Studios attraction is CLOSING. ©Disney That’s right, we’ll soon be saying goodbye to Muppet*Vision 3D and all of Muppets Courtyard as the area gets replaced with a Monsters, Inc.-themed land. As a consolation, Disney will be replacing Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with a Muppets coaster. But even with that change, the loss of Muppet*Vision is pretty controversial — and fans have a lot of questions and concerns! Why Didn’t They Replace Lightning McQueen With Muppets? One of the first questions that people started asking when the Muppets news was released was — “why didn’t they replace Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy with Muppet*Vision 3D instead of making a new Villains show?” In case you forgot, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy (next to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster) was closed earlier this year to make way for a new Disney Villains stage show. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy If they had moved Muppet*Vision to the Sunset Showcase, then we’d be able to keep the beloved show AND have it next door to the new coaster. So what gives? Well, ultimately this is a question we won’t know the true answer to unless Disney tells us, but it seems like now is a great time for the company to start hyping fans up about the Disney Villains. ©Disney With a Villain-themed land coming to Magic Kingdom, this theater show could help gauge interest in the classic Disney characters and get people in the mood for the new addition. We’ll just have to wait and see how it performs! Will the Miss Piggy Fountain Disappear? One of the most iconic parts of Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios is the Miss Piggy Statue of Liberty fountain. It’s located smack dab in the front of the land and features the pink diva herself…but dressed as Lady Liberty! Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios The fountain has been the backdrop for many a family photo over the years, so we’re left wondering if Disney will preserve it or move it somehow. We’d love to see Miss Piggy for many years to come! Why Didn’t They Gut Animation Courtyard Instead? When it was announced that Hollywood Studios would be getting a Monsters, Inc. land, fans had generally narrowed down the location to one of two spots — Muppets Courtyard or Animation Courtyard. Many people fought for the Pixar additions to be placed in Animation Courtyard, since the land hasn’t seen too much action in recent years. But alas, we’ll be saying goodbye to Muppets Courtyard with two restaurants and a theater show instead. Animation Courtyard So why not Animation Courtyard? Well, it likely has to do with the space. It has already been announced that a new Little Mermaid show will be coming to one of the theaters there, so that space is out of commission. On top of that, Animation Courtyard is a bit more landlocked by other parts of the park than Muppets Courtyard is. To add the Monsters, Inc. rollercoaster to Muppets Courtyard, Disney may be able to cut into some backstage and parking areas. That’s space that they’d be severely limited on elsewhere in the park. Fans Can’t Agree on the Perfect Musical Guest As part of the Muppets takeover of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, we’ll be getting some NEW music for the ride! The coaster is currently themed to Aerosmith, but the new announcement stated that the Muppets would be teaming up with some of “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival. ©Disney So who are these stars? Disney hasn’t announced yet, but even here at DFB, we can’t seem to agree on who we think would be best for the role. You’ll want someone with the potential to really make the ride ROCK, but you’ll also want a decently popular name to draw attention. Who do you think it could be? We’ve got a lot of mixed opinions! How Will Muppet*Vision 3D Be Preserved? When it was announced that Muppet*Vision 3D would be going away, we were immediately heartbroken. But then, we got a bit of news that softened the blow. According to Disney, they are “having creative conversations and exploring ways to preserve the film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future.” Kermit! That’s so exciting! How could they preserve the show? Well, in a few ways. Is it possible we could get the short film on Disney+ to watch at our leisure, or maybe it’ll appear somewhere else in Disney World? Disney hasn’t specified details yet, but it’s an important piece of legacy for Jim Henson fans. The Jim Henson Company even released a statement about the closure, saying, “As we learn of the show’s upcoming closure in its current form at Disney’s Hollywood Studios , we look forward to Muppet*Vision 3D’s next act.” We’re Losing a Really Cool Themed Restaurant And finally, we’ve got to talk about the other reason Muppet fans are sad — we’re losing a super fun restaurant in the process! While PizzeRizzo may not be known for the best food in town, this spot definitely has some spectacular theming and we’ll be sad to see it go. PizzeRizzo From the rat wedding room to the old-school pizza parlor vibes, we’re definitely going to miss this place. Thankfully, you’ll still be able to get puffy pizza at Catalina Eddie’s. That’s a wrap on our list of comments right now, but we’ll make sure to keep you updated with any more news about this transformation! Stay tuned to DFB for the latest! Disney World’s Lightning Lane Premier Pass may still be new, but it’s already proven to be incredibly popular. ©Disney The new skip-the-line service allows each guest who purchases it one one-time entry to each Lightning Lane experience in the selected theme park — but at a pretty hefty price. Still, that hasn’t stopped folks from selling the service out in some parks over the week of Thanksgiving — and on Monday, Lightning Lane Premier Pass sold out in every single Disney World park. Lightning Lane Premier Pass is officially sold out in all Disney World parks today, November 25th, 2024. Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios had previously sold out last week, but now the service is unavailable in all parks today. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Lightning Lane According to the Walt Disney World app, Lightning Lane Premier Passes are SOLD OUT on the following days: Magic Kingdom: November 23rd, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th Disney’s Hollywood Studios: November 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th EPCOT: November 25th Animal Kingdom: November 25th Lightning Lane Premier Pass prices vary based on date and park, but the prices for these sold-out passes range from $309 to $449 per person, with Magic Kingdom reaching $449 and Disney’s Hollywood Studios reaching $349 per person on November 28th (Thanksgiving Day). Lightning Lane When Lightning Lane Premier Pass first rolled out, it was a pilot program limited to those staying at Disney Deluxe Resort hotels, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, and other select hotels. As of now, though, Disney has updated the rules to allow ANY Disney World hotel guest to purchase the Premier Pass. Lightning Lane You can NOT use the pass in multiple parks on the same day, and you can only purchase one Premier Pass per day. Disney will unveil a brand-new take on a classic EPCOT ride in 2025! Test Track In June 2024, Test Track closed to be reimagined as a new, third version of the ride. The new iteration of the attraction will take inspiration from its predecessor, World of Motion, and is currently scheduled to debut in 2025. And, if that isn’t enough to get you hyped for the revamp, there are also 6 BIG additions coming to Test Track 3.0! During the D23 fan event, Disney revealed more details about the Test Track retheme. They said Walt Disney Imagineering is collaborating with Chevrolet to “push innovation forward and celebrate humanity’s enduring drive on the thrilling road to a brighter tomorrow.” ©Disney The ride will include new show scenes that showcase technological advances and how our lifestyles and relationships to mobility connect everyone. ©Disney But guests will actually get to experience six (!!) new additions before they even get to the ride itself! Test Track cars Disney also announced that the queue will feature six exhibits. Each room will celebrate both the vehicles and the people behind them that innovate and help take people to the next chapter in our motion journey. Test Track Construction September 2024 We love hearing about these additions to the queue because it reminds us of some of the old-school “edutainment” that EPCOT was once known for. If you’re also nostalgic for “old EPCOT,” the rethemed Test Track might be right up your alley when it opens! Test Track We’ll continue to be on the lookout for more news about the Test Track retheme — including an exact opening date — so keep an eye on DFB for all the info you need to plan your trip to Disney World in 2025 and beyond! “If They Don’t Have Rome Burning I Will Cry.” Disney Fans Have 6 Demands for EPCOT’s New Spaceship Earth Lounge Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! There are plenty of changes going on at Disney World right now — and we’re pretty darn excited about them! Welcome to the Most Magical Place on Earth! Over at Animal Kingdom, the new Tropical Americas Land is already underway, and Villains Land and Cars attractions in Magic Kingdom are coming in the future, too. Now that we officially know where the new Monsters, Inc. Land coming to Hollywood Studios will be located, we’re diving into the concept art to see what we can decode. Disney has officially announced that Monsters, Inc.Land will be located on the south side of Grand Avenue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios — also known as Muppets Courtyard. As you might have guessed, with this change, we’ll have to say goodbye to Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, Mama Melrose, and the bathrooms in this area. ©Disney The story of the land will pick up after the events of the popular Pixar film, and humans have now been invited to visit the world of Monsters, Inc. Disney shares that here, “you’ll be able to stroll the streets alongside some of your favorite monsters” and even visit the Laugh Factory! ©Disney Not only that, but the new Monsters, Inc. land will feature Disney’s VERY FIRST suspended coaster, which “will put you right in the middle of the monster action. Just be sure to fill out your paperwork! Roz is always watching…” In addition to this brand-new coaster, Disney recently announced that Monsters, Inc. land will also have a new theater show (but just what they mean by “new” remains a mystery — more on that later!) ©Disney Disney recently revealed new concept art for the retheme and we think we’ve got a pretty good idea of what might be in store after ferociously zooming in all over the place. Since we know Monsters, Inc. land will be taking over what is currently the Muppets Courtyard area on the south side of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we can use that current land as a guide. ©Disney In the back, where Mama Melrose’s currently sits, appears to be Harryhausen’s — the restaurant Mike Wazowski takes Celia Mae out on a date for her birthday. It is a Japanese restaurant that is notoriously hard to get a reservation to (but we’re hoping that isn’t the case for the real thing!) While Disney hasn’t officially confirmed that this restaurant will be coming to the new Monsters, Inc. Land, the fact that it is in multiple concept art drawings leads us to believe it is pretty likely we will see a Harryhausen’s Restaurant in this new area. A sushi restaurant would make a great addition to Hollywood Studios! ©Disney Disney also recently revealed that Monsters, Inc. land will be home to a “whole new theater show,” which was previously unknown to the public. From what it looks like, this show will likely take over the theater where Muppet*Vision 3D is currently located. This would make sense, as Disney would just have to change over the theming and not build an entirely new theater. Unfortunately, that’s pretty much all we know about this show for now. But, we did notice something interesting in the latest concept art… ©Disney …that appears to be a billboard advertising Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor at Magic Kingdom. Now, it’s entirely possible that this is just an in-universe joke — especially since Disney specified this would be a “new” show, but wouldn’t it make sense for Laugh Floor to move from Magic Kingdom to Hollywood Studios for this new land? ©Disney Don’t worry, though, this isn’t the end of The Muppets in Hollywood Studios. In fact, The Muppets will be moving to Sunset Boulevard and taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster! The Muppets will be the star of the show on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and will be teaming up with some of “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.” ©Disney When it comes to Muppet*Vision 3D’s impending closure, Disney said, “As we move forward with these changes, we are having creative conversations and exploring ways to preserve the film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future.” Could this mean the show will wind up on Disney+? Or, perhaps Disney will use parts of Muppet*Vision 3D in the new Monsters, Inc. show. ©The Jim Henson Company We’re excited to see how Disney will team up with “some of music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.” The current Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster stars rock legends Aerosmith, but it will be interesting to find out who Disney gets to collaborate with on this ride. In the meantime, we’ll be sure to keep an eye out for the latest news about Monsters, Inc. land, the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster retheme, and more. It’s been a few months since we first heard about a diabolical-sounding invention called the toilet timer and learned that they were installed at a popular tourist destination. ©Getty Images Back in June, this invention made headlines when it was reported that the Yungang Buddhist Grottoes in China, a stunning tourist destination that boasts 51,000 statues carved into 252 caves and niches — all around 1,500 years old — had installed toilet timers in their restrooms. As the name implies, there is a literal timer above the toilet, and you’ve only got a limited time to, well, do your business. This sparked WILD backlash, but primarily overseas here in the United States, not over in China, where it was taking place. We’ve spent months thinking about this (no, we’re not kidding) and decided to really dive into some research. As it turns out, China was FAR from the first place to implement the concept of timed bathroom visits — they’ve actually been around in the United States alone (in a slightly less conspicuous form) for at least 16 years. When news of toilet timers hit the news, a staff member at the site in China said that they were introduced to help cope with the increase in visitors that they were seeing and assured people that no one would be kicked out of the bathroom at any time. However, they went on to say that they’re also a safety measure that ensures “the well-being of all guests, in case some guests use the toilet for an extended period and an emergency occurs,“, according to CNN. The timer at the top of the stall would show that the person had been in there for an extended period of time, and if someone were to check on them and receive no response, they might be able to help with a medical emergency. ©Weibo That was really the part that got us curious because it is true that medical situations can happen anywhere, including a restroom stall, and oftentimes, they’re silent, and no one may know. So, has anyone else adapted this technique or something similar in the name of safety? Well, the answer is YES, especially over in Europe. In Europe, more specifically in Paris, you’ll find single-stall restrooms called Sanisettes. That’s right. Toilet timers aren’t limited to China, though for now, it seems that unique style is exclusive to the Yungang Buddhist Grottoes in China. ©Medium In Paris, for example, the toilet timer is a little less obvious (luckily). The trick is here that unlike many restaurants or stores or public places in the United States that will allow you to use their restroom, you need to pay to use many Sanisettes. Not all of them still require coins, but the ones that don’t have another safety feature to discourage illicit activity — yep, the door will POP OPEN and UNLOCK after 15 minutes. ©Wikipedia As our research continued, we found an article from the non-profit newsroom Gothamist dating back to 2008 (!!!), in which they reported that New York City debuted Automatic Public Toilets (APTs) over a decade ago. Surprise! Even America has a version of toiler timers. These APTs cost 25 cents to use when they debuted and ALSO had a 15-minute time limit, again to discourage any non-bathroom-related activity. To be specific, “After 12 minutes of use, an acoustic alarm and red flashing lights go off for three minutes before the door opens.” There may not be a physical sign like the ones in China, but that sounds like a toiler timer to us! ©Gothamist So, while the physical TIMER aspect is still relatively new, it was possibly inspired by these self-cleaning public restroom stalls seen in the past. The idea has been around for quite some time, and it means that we could continue to see the idea develop further at additional locations in the future. We don’t think this will be leaving our minds any time soon, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB — if there’s an update, we’ll let you know! We’ve got a new update in EPCOT to share with you and it’s quite a notable change! Spaceship Earth EPCOT at Disney World has seen many changes recently, with extending its popular Encanto sing-along show, getting ready for the Festival of the Holidays to start soon, and even updating ride scenes in one of our favorite attractions. While this change might be a little more subtle than the last, it’s one we’re very excited about and it seems a lot of other folks are already, too! It’s true that there’s a lot of NEW going around EPCOT right now and this next change we’ve spotted is one that everyone seems to be clamoring over! When Disney World announced that Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana would be coming to EPCOT’s World Nature, we figured that a Moana meet and greet wouldn’t be too far behind. Te Fiti as seen in EPCOT’s Journey of Water Then, shortly after, we DID finally have a second location to meet Moana and talk to her all about her journeys with Hei Hei, Pua, and the well-meaning Demi-God Maui. And, of course, she looked JUST like she did in her debut film. Moana in her original outfit Now that the theatrical release of Moana 2 is quickly approaching, Disney World has CHANGED Moana’s meet and greet! She now will meet you in the same outfit she’s sporting in Moana 2, the second movie to feature the voyager-descendant Disney princess. And we’ve gotta say we’re loving this new look for her! Moana’s new outfit This new outfit still shows off Moana’s signature tan, red, and burgundy colors in her skirt’s wrap but the top piece looks more festive and a bit more regal for the next village Chief in line! Signing autographs But don’t be deceived by her new appearance — she’s still the same quirky, lovable Moana we all know at heart. Hi, Moana! If you’re looking to say “hello” to Moana in person on your next Disney World visit, you can find her stationed at various times across the walkway from the Journey of Water, Inspired By Moana attraction’s entrance and adjacent to the Coral Reef Restaurant. Just check the My Disney Experience app throughout the day to see when you can expect her to be out. However, you’ll want to carve out some time as it is a super popular character experience right now. That’s a long line to meet her It seems this new update for Moana has quickly become very popular and when we tried to visit her at 1:50PM her line was already so long, that the Cast Members assisting her had to cut the line for that particular meeting time before it ever began. Just looking at that line will tell you she’s in for telling stories about quite a few of her adventures this outing alone! We also overheard them telling folks to try again to visit her the next time she was scheduled to be out which was at 3PM. Meeting times will be posted outside of her meeting place We’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney World news, updates, and changes! Okay, so it’s no secret that our job is literally eating ALL the food in Disney World, or at least all the new food. It’s that time of year! So the holiday season has arrived and that means that there a lot of new food and snacks arriving at Disney World parks, hotels, and Disney Springs. So, yes, we’ve been running all over Disney World, dropping almost $600 total on new holiday snacks just to get you reviews on everything. That is a LOT of food, y’all. So now that we’ve tried pretty much all the new stuff, we’re going to tell you about our hits and misses so you don’t waste a second of your time during your holiday Disney World trip wondering what to eat. Okay, so we’re including all the new treats that arrived in Disney World, including the exclusive eats you can get at both Jollywood Nights in Hollywood Studios AND Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom. Let’s go! The Hits Okay, let’s talk about the snacks we would eat over and over again. We’re starting with the Gingerbread Cheesecake at Backlot Express for $5.99. It’s a gingerbread cheesecake on a vanilla cookie topped with milk chocolate ganache, dulce de leche whipped cream, gingerbread chocolate décor, gold crispy pearls, and holiday sprinkles. Not only is this treat the CUTEST we’ve seen this year, but it’s also delicious. The cheesecake is high quality and the dulce de leche whipped cream just elevates it. The cookie on the bottom was buttery, and the whole thing just SLAPPED. A++, Disney. Gingerbread Cheesecake We also found some new favorite treats at Jollywood Nights. One exclusive treat is the plant-based Cauliflower Taco at ABC Commissary for $4.49. This is made with Chili pepper-lime dusted fried cauliflower on top of a corn tortilla with diced onions, cilantro, and a chipotle cashew “crema.” This snack knocked it out of the park and had so much flavor that we were surprised that it didn’t contain meat. The corn tortilla was fresh, the cauliflower was fried perfectly, and it all just worked out to create the perfect taco. Plant-based Cauliflower Taco ABC Commissary is on a taco roll, though, because another Jollywood Nights-exclusive treat is the Taco ‘bout a Holiday Cookie for $5.79. This is a cranberry cheesecake-filled chocolate cookie dipped in cranberry-white chocolate topped with pistachio whipped cream, gold crispy pearls, chocolate holly leaf décor, and holiday sprinkles. The theming was PERFECT and super tasty. Although there was nothing to suggest the cookie was spiced, it gave us gingerbread vibes, especially when paired with the cranberry. Taco ‘bout a Holiday Cookie Jollywood Nights has also brought us one of our new favorite holiday drinks, the Dark and Snowy at Ice Cold Hydraulics. For $9, you get a frozen blend of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and Coca-Cola topped with sweetened coconut cream and cinnamon. Although it’s a classic whisky and coke base, the sweetened coconut cream just makes it SING. Dark and Snowy We also found a few new faves at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year. The Holiday Dinner Loaded Fries for $6.99 from Casey’s Corner totally surprised us. These are French fries with turkey and gravy, fried onions, and cranberry sauce. It might sound a little weird, but these flavors were SO good with the fries, and there were LOADS of toppings. Holiday Dinner Loaded French Fries We also loved the Baked Brie Flatbread for $13.29 at Pinocchio Village Haus at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. It’s made with a brie-cheese spread, mango chutney, green apples, arugula, almonds, and a honey drizzle. It has the perfect blend of sweet and savory, plus you’ve got that super melted creamy Brie. Baked Brie Flatbread We’ve got one more amazing treat to share with you. The Festive Beignets at Golden Oak Outpost during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are AMAZING. For $7.29, you get three light and fluffy beignets dusted with blue sugar cookie dust and served with cookie butter icing. These are like upgraded beignets. They were a little messy — that cookie dust went everywhere, but SO worth it. It’s the perfect snack to satisfy your sweet tooth. Festive Beignets We also found a favorite over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort at their gingerbread display pop-up treats shop. The Spiced Orange and Cranberry Bundt Cake for $5.79 is another pretty dessert that also packs SERIOUS flavor. It’s moist, and the spices, orange, and cranberry, just come through and combine to create a wonderful flavor. This is what the holidays taste like. Spiced Orange and Cranberry Bundt Cake So we’ve found a lot of great snacks this holiday season that will be singing the praises about until next year’s round of holiday snacks comes out. The Misses However, when you eat almost $600 in snacks, there are going to be some that just aren’t all that. Now, we’re going to tell you about the holiday snacks you should skip in Disney World, starting with the Red Velvet Holiday Milk Shake for $9.79 at Dockside Diner in Hollywood Studios. It’s a Red Velvet Milk Shake swirled with Chocolate Sauce topped with Whipped Cream, Rainbow Sprinkles, and a Holiday Tree Sugar Cookie. It’s messy, it’s thick enough to actually be a Wendy’s Frosty, and the chocolate flavor is SO artificial. Even the sugar cookie was disappointing. Red Velvet Holiday Milkshake We’ve also got a Jollywood Nights drink to warn you about. The Beer Margarita from BaseLine Tap House is made with a blend of Patrón Silver Tequila, Cointreau Orange Liqueur, and lime juice topped with Scrimshaw Pilsner served over ice. For $17.50, you basically get a margarita-flavored beer, and we really don’t think it’s unique enough to justify paying almost $18 for it. You don’t even get a glow cube! Beer Margarita Okay, moving on to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The Holiday Pineapple-Orange-Guava Juice Float is made with Pineapple-orange-guava juice, coconut soft-serve, and a spiced pineapple tree pop for $9. Yes, it’s a POG float with coconut soft-serve, but it didn’t wow us like we thought it would. We didn’t think it justified the $9 price tag either, and it wasn’t even all that festive other than a Christmas tree cake pop. It’s just…basic. Holiday Pineapple-Orange-Guava Juice Float Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party also has a Gingerbread Cola for $5 at various carts throughout Magic Kingdom. It’s Coca-Cola with gingerbread syrup. That might seem intriguing, but trust us…this was WEIRD. It’s sickly sweet and tastes like medicine. If you want a soda, just get a regular Coke. Gingerbread Cola We hope this gives you a good idea of what you should and should NOT eat in Disney World this holiday season. Disney rides are Imagineering wonders — and Imagineering wonders take a lot of work to keep them running in tip-top shape. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Every once in a while, though, something can cause a ride to suddenly stop. Maybe a rider dropped something when they were getting out and Cast Members needed to retrieve it for safety reasons, or maybe something mechanical happened. It’s typically a quick fix and rides will often start back up within a few minutes, but sometimes — a ride needs to be evacuated! Tyler shared that they were enjoying the second-to-last scene of the ride when it suddenly stopped. After around five minutes, the lights came on and an announcement was made that riders would soon be evacuated. Cast Members didn’t share what exactly caused the problem, but it was quite sudden according to Tyler. When rides suddenly stop, it’s important to be patient and listen to Cast Member instructions. Typically, an announcement will be made advising you to stay in your seat with another announcement ahead of when the ride will start up again. If you’re ever evacuated from a ride, Cast Members will instruct you on how to safely do so. New numbers on the vehicles In other Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure news — the ride recently began using a Single Rider Line! While it had technically been there since the ride opened, the Single Rider Line had rarely — if ever — been used. But now, it seems to be sticking around! We’ve found waits in this line to be significantly lower. If you want to use it, though, keep in mind you will be separated from the rest of your party — and likely riding with strangers. If that doesn’t bother you, then the Single Rider Line can be a great way to skip the regular standby line! Single Rider Line In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for the latest news from EPCOT and more — so stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog as we bring you more updates you don’t want to miss! Let’s grab some grub at Disneyland! Disneyland Tomorrowland Disneyland is often regarded as having some of the best theme park food in the industry, but that doesn’t mean every restaurant is a hit. Over in Tomorrowland, Alien Pizza Planet has divided Disney food fans. With the quality called into question in addition to some concern over prices, Alien Pizza Planet currently holds a modest 3.2 out of 5.0 stars on Yelp. With all that in mind, we visited the controversial restaurant to see how it holds up heading into 2025! Situated in a corner right next to Space Mountain, Alien Pizza Planet is hard to miss. Out front, it features a giant Pizza Planet rocket and the little green aliens from the Toy Story franchise — not exactly subtle. The restaurant beckons Tomorrowland guests for a bite, and we gladly obliged! Alien Pizza Planet Atmosphere As we previously mentioned, Alien Pizza Planet welcomes guests from far and wide with a bit of novelty. Based on the Pizza Planet from Toy Story, they front has plenty of references to the pizza parlor from the movie with the color scheme and rocket as well as the little green aliens blasting off. The front outdoor portion has a little bit of shaded seating, but it’s also close to several tables scattered around the area. Alien Pizza Planet Once inside, you’ll find a cafeteria-like setup. You’ll be able to order food, pick up mobile orders, and find limited seating. Alien Pizza Planet The dining room features even more alien theming, but be warned that it’s usually packed and it can be tough to find seating inside. Alien Pizza Planet dining room There is also a large beverage station off to the side that is equipped with everything you’ll need for your meal. Beverage station Our best tip when it comes to dining at the restaurant is to walk right through the dining room until you see the automatic doors in the back. Behind the restaurant on the way to Space Mountain, you’ll find a ton of covered seating that is essentially indoors and much more likely to have ample seating. This area has an upper and lower level and is great if you’re looking to get out of the sun for a bit. Pizza Planet seating So what kind of food can you expect to find here? Besides pizza (which is obviously the top billing), you might be surprised… Menu When it comes to the menu, think quick-service pizza parlor. You’ll find several options pertaining to pizza, pasta, and salad. The pizza ranges from typical pepperoni and cheese to seasonal options that can get pretty exciting, like the Chicken Al Pastor Pizza. The pizza here is served in slices for around $8 to $10. ©Disney Pastas get a little bit more creative, with options like fusilli and Chicken Sesame-Ginger Vegetable Noodles. ©Disney Sides are pretty basic, however, with garlic bread options, side salads, and classic chips. Kids meals are also limited, with the Space-getti with Meatballs and Kid-Size Cheese Pizza being the only two options. ©Disney Drinks here are par for the course when it comes to quick-service restaurants. We’re talking assorted fountain beverages and the standard hot drink and Minute Maid options to accompany the occasional seasonal drink. As for desserts, you’re not really going to find anything unique to the location outside of seasonal items. Speaking of which… ©Disney This restaurant tends to offer tons of seasonal offerings in food, drinks, and souvenirs, so be sure to check the menu often as it can look quite different each visit! ©Disney Now that you know what to expect, let’s jump in and see how everything tasted! Drinks You’re not going to find any alcoholic beverages here, but Alien Pizza Planet does tend to offer interesting seasonal drinks. During our visit, we tried the seasonal Holiday Green Drink! This drink is an apple-flavored beverage topped with caramel cold foam and sprinkles and will set you back $6.99. Holiday Green Drink First and foremost, this thing looks weird. Whether it’s a good weird or a bad weird depends on the diner. Our reporter felt it looked cool and apropos of the restaurant’s theme, but could understand how some might find it to be offputting. The drink looks like sludge, and the texture is a bit…gooey. Party on top As for the drink itself, ours tasted like a watered-down candy apple. The caramel foam was tasty but became overbearing fast. In short, the Holiday Green Drink just had too much going on for us, and we got over it quickly. This drink was very sweet and you have to like caramel drinks, otherwise, it’s unlikely you’ll dig this. We weren’t big fans, but we understand that this is a niche item that will appease certain guests. Eats For our meal, we tried the Chicken Sesame-Ginger Vegetable Noodles, Chicken Al Pastor Pizza, and Alien Reindeer Macaron. Alien Pizza Planet spread We started off with the Chicken Sesame-Ginger Vegetable Noodles, which is made with grilled chicken and stir-fried vegetables served over noodles, tossed with sesame-ginger sauce, and garnished with cilantro & scallions. This “pasta” costs $13.49. Chicken Sesame-Ginger Vegetable Noodles This meal didn’t stand out much one way or another, but maybe that’s a good thing. This is one of the least offensive dishes you’ll find at the Disneyland resort. Ours was super light and a great substitution if you want to take a break from deep-fried and greasy food. It’s very cut and dry — the veggies are basic veggies, the noodles were very basic, the chicken was surprisingly tender, and the sauce was light and subtle. While we wish there was more sauce, mixing it around seemed to help a bit. Otherwise, this is a perfectly fine dish. If you’re looking for something light and trying to eat healthier, this is a suitable option. However, we don’t think it’s worth the price tag. Chicken and cilantro Next, you know we had to get a slice of pizza at a place that literally has “pizza” in its title! We opted for the Chicken Al Pastor Pizza slice for $9.49. This pizza is made with spiced red sauce, mozzarella cheese, roasted corn, and al pastor-marinated chicken garnished with crema and tomatillo sauce drizzle and cilantro. Chicken Al Pastor Pizza This one is a toughie to grade. Our pizza had a TON of flavor going on. The crema was awesome and provided a softness to the very subtle kick of the pizza. The cilantro was also an excellent bonus, as it helped cut through the spice and provided a nice freshness. The crust was thick with a good crunch, and the green sauce provided a delicious salsa flavor. All in all, you can taste each flavor, but there was so much going on that it was overwhelming. We’re not quite sure all these flavors work best on a pizza, but we still thought it was a solid option on the menu. Once again, we felt the price brought down our opinion of this item. The Chicken Al Pastor Pizza will likely satisfy fans of Southwestern cuisine, but a cost of something closer to $7 would be more fair. No complaints about the crust! Finally, for dessert, we tried the Alien Reindeer Macaron, which is filled with salted caramel buttercream, chocolate ganache, and brownie pieces. This seasonal dessert costs $7.99. Alien Reindeer Macaron This little guy is absolutely adorable and a really fun holiday treat! Each flavor really stood out, and the brownie pieces were especially epic. It’s also served cold, which was a feature we loved because it provided a surprisingly refreshing tasting experience. SO good There are a lot of flavors going on here, and the dessert is very rich, but if you’re a fan of Disney macarons, we recommend giving this one a try! Overall Overall, the quality here isn’t bad! That’s not the highest of praise, but we want to note that Alien Pizza Planet should be commended for trying to incorporate new flavors to bolster its menu while taking some risks. It stacks up just fine to the average quick-service location in terms of quality, and we felt our food here was good and filling. Alien Pizza Planet With that said, we can’t help but comment on the prices. While these rates won’t bankrupt you, the items here are clearly overpriced. Comparing Alien Pizza Planet to other similar spots at Disneyland, there are more affordable options that provide equal or better quality, so we’re scratching our heads as to why Alien Pizza Planet refuses to come down in cost. $9 or more for a slice of pizza is tough to swallow. Nosh Or Not? Fly your spaceship over to Alien Pizza Planet if… You want pizza. Pizza quick-service options are limited, so this is still your best bet. You’re in the mood for non-traditional pizza. While we liked but didn’t love the Chicken Al Pastor pizza this go-around, Alien Pizza Planet has impressed us with its seasonal pizza options in the past, upping its appeal if you’re looking for something different with your pizza. You’re in a rush. Once you grab your food, this is a fast dining experience that gets you on with your day quickly. As an added bonus, this restaurant is right next to Space Mountain, and you can hop right on after you’re finished eating…if your stomach can handle it, of course! Pass by Alien Pizza Planet and dine elsewhere if… Bang for your buck is a priority. There are quick-service restaurants like Rancho del Zocalo that are simply a better value. You’ll get more food (and better quality) here. Basic theme park fare ain’t gonna cut it. Alien Pizza Planet has made strides with its menu, but it still has a ways to go if it’s going to compete with the big boys. Disneyland restaurants like River Belle Terrace and Docking Bay 7 have more unique menus and won’t break the bank, either. You’re looking for a memorable dining experience. This is a basic quick-service dining experience and not one that’s incredibly memorable. If you want plenty of photo ops or a meal/drinks you’ll never forget, we recommend grabbing drinks at Oga’s Cantina or making a dining reservation for Blue Bayou. We hope you aren’t hungry right now because we are about to take you with us to try out a Disney World restaurant, and we are not responsible for any sudden cravings or watering mouths. Walt Disney World Swan Today, we are heading over to the Walt Disney World’s Swan Hotel to try out one of its many excellent restaurants. We are excited to see what this restaurant has to offer and, of course, take you all along with us! Il Mulino New York Trattoria is located in Walt Disney World’s Swan Hotel, and it serves up traditional meals from the Abruzzi region of Italy. This is the second location for the restaurant, with the original location being in Greenwich Village, New York. Inside, you will find dark wood tones, rustic lighting, and brick walls as you dine on rich, authentic flavors. Let’s head inside! Atmosphere The entrance to the restaurant is simple and welcoming, and we can already see how the wood elements are coming into play in this restaurant. Il Mulino You will find Il Mulino nestled in the lobby of Walt Disney World’s Swan Hotel. The restaurant is filled with wood tones and lots of beautiful brickwork. The restaurant feels cozy yet elevated. Il Mulino In addition to a dining area, there is also a large lounge area where you can go to sip on your beverage of choice and relax. There was lots of natural lighting in here and the use of wood tones continued into the lounge. Il Mulino The table settings are simple and welcoming, but still get you excited for the upcoming meal. The table was even set with a bottle of olive oil in addition to the salt and pepper. Table Setting Now that we have made it to our table, let’s take a look at the menu! Menu The restaurant offers an extensive menu, including a large selection of wines and other alcoholic beverages. Il Mulino Menu For starters, you can choose from a variety of antipasti, insalate, and zuppe. ©Disney There are options for pizza and pasta. ©Disney You can also order meals family-style, dishes from the grill, or chicken. ©Disney There are also options for veal and fish, as well as numerous side options. ©Disney You can choose from a variety of desserts, and there are also options for children’s meals. ©Disney Il Mulino also had a huge selection of alcohol, including some specialty cocktails. They also have an extensive wine menu and numerous beer options. ©Disney Now that we have taken a look at the menu, let’s take a look at what we ordered! Drinks To drink, we got the Primobacio, Moscato D’ Asti, which cost $14. Primobacio, Moscato D’ Asti This was wonderful and paired well with our whole meal, which honestly felt like one you’d want to have wine with, so it didn’t disappoint. Eats For a starter, we were served a basket of fresh bread along with some eggplant. Fresh Bread The eggplant here was so savory and you spread it on like a cold topping, and the bread was soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside like we wanted. The two of them together helped stimulate our appetite, which is what you want out of a bread service! Eggplant Next up, we got the Carpaccio Di Carne, which is thinly sliced Tuscan-style beef served with arugula, extra virgin olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and carpaccio sauce. You can get this dish for $17. This was spectacular! Our reporter isn’t usually one for raw meat appetizers, but the beef was cut incredibly thin, and the flavors were balanced extremely well. A real winner in our book. Carpaccio Di Carne We also tried the Insalata Caprese which cost $16. It is buffalo mozzarella with beef steak tomatoes, capers and roasted peppers. This was missing some of the fresh basil we were expecting, but the mozzarella and tomatoes were extremely high quality, which made up for it in our eyes. Insalata Caprese For our entrees, we started with the Rigatoni Con Funghi for $29. This dish is rigatoni with wild mushrooms, spicy cherry peppers, garlic, and truffle oil. This was our favorite item of the night. This was a half serving, as our reporters were sharing, and they loved the huge mushrooms and delicious truffle oil and garlic. Rigatoni Con Funghi It was very savory and aromatic, and the pasta was perfectly cooked, but what really took it to the next level for us was the spicy cherry peppers. It gave the dish a kick that we didn’t expect but totally loved! Rigatoni Con Funghi We also got the Pollo Parmigiana, which cost $35. It is pounded, breaded chicken breast served with fresh tomato sauce, and Italian cheese. This was the best chicken parmesan our reporter had ever had. The chicken was pounded so thin, which made it perfectly tender and easy to cut; it was perfectly breaded, and the tomato sauce was FRESH. It was Italian flavors at its most basic yet finest. Pollo Parmigiana Finally, for dessert, we got the Tiramisu for $14. This is layered espresso and coffee liquor-infused Lady Fingers coated with mascarpone cream. Tiramisu We really enjoyed this, but we felt it needed more of the lady fingers inside of it. It was well made, though, which made it hard to mess up, and it was a great end to the meal overall. Tiramisu Overall Overall, this place isn’t overly themed. In fact, it almost LOOKS like you’re sitting in a place that’s serving overpriced brunch, so it almost felt strange the food was so good. However, because it’s so out of the way and the atmosphere is a little meh, you might not have thought of coming here, even though the Italian food was incredible. Il Mulino Compared with Via Napoli, which you can find in EPCOT, which is the closest comparison you can get on the level of fine Italian food, you may prefer to go to Via Napoli since it’s in EPCOT. That said, this is a great option if you’re willing to stop by! Nosh or Not? This spot will be a fantastic fit for you if: You love delicious, high-quality Italian food You’re staying at the Swan or Dolphin hotels You don’t mind traveling decently far away from the parks to get a fantastic meal Il Mulino However, it may not be your speed if: You’re staying at another Disney World hotel or are attempting to stay in/close to the parks You’re just looking to eat something, not a standout meal You want more comprehensive theming (not even Disney theming, just a theme overall) We have eaten everywhere in Disney World, and we aren’t stopping there!
