Don’t forget to eat before you fly! There’s nothing worse than a lousy airplane meal, right? ©Discover Airlines Luckily, a famous chef is here to help. A legendary, Michelin Star-Awarded chef — who has a longtime presence at Disney Springs — is branching out into the burgeoning airport restaurant space with a BRAND-NEW restaurant at one of the United States’ busiest transport hubs. Legendary chef José Andrés has teamed with Capital One to open up a new, potentially game-changing lounge at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C. The Capital One Landing is scheduled to open soon. According to the New York Times, the lounge will feature a “globally influenced” menu that was “revised eight times to consider seasonality and the logistics unique to an airport.” Expect tapas, like crisp pan con tomate and gambas al ajillo, beers imported from Spain, caviar cones, and Basque cheesecake. ©Washington Business Journal The Capital One Landing will use an interesting model, combining elements of a sit-down restaurant, a quick-service dining location, and a traditional airport lounge. According to the New York Times, “A grab-and-go section and a separate seated dining area will both be open to the public.” Here’s where things get interesting. To sit down and order food in the dining area, you will pay a flat fee, similar to how people pay in lounges, rather than per dish. Venture and Spark Miles cardholders will pay $45, and Venture X and Venture X Business cardholders will have an even bigger perk: unlimited complimentary access and free entry for one guest per visit. All other Capital One cardholders and non-cardholders will pay $90 per visit. There will also be a time limit. Chef Jose Andres During an interview promoting the concept, Aandrés — who owns Jaleo at Disney Springs — emphasized the quality of the Landing’s offerings and the freshness of the food. He explained “I want people to feel like they’re coming to a place that somebody has put in love and care.” He went on to say, “I have been waiting for this moment for many years to have my food in an airport. I didn’t start thinking about this yesterday, but in the end I always hesitated, like all the other chefs before me who have already tried this arena, between all of us, we keep pushing about how we can get a better experience in the airport in America.” Jaleo World-renowned chef and philanthropist José Andrés has teamed with Capital One to open a new lounge at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Are you planning a trip to Disneyland? Sleeping Beauty Castle Disney’s OG park has a lot to offer, including rides that are EXCLUSIVE, as well as a ton of snacks and great food (honestly, we think the food is BETTER in Disneyland than Disney World — now don’t come at us for that). Disneyland is so fun to visit, too, especially if you’re really into Disney history and want to walk down the same streets and walkways Walt Disney himself once walked on (and don’t forget to take a moment to look up at his old apartment above the fire station). If you are going to Disneyland and haven’t bought your tickets yet, you might want to take a moment to visit Target. Staying hydrated at Disney World is so important! Between the heat and the humidity, it’s important to drink water. Our signed water bottle! We have carried around our fair share of water bottles and tumblers to keep us hydrated while walking those magical miles. Sometimes we go for practical and something that can keep our water ice cold, especially in the summer. Sometimes we are looking for something cute. We found an adorable tumbler that makes our snack-loving hearts soar and we even tried it out! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you’re missing out! Grab a FREE trial below. We found this adorable Mickey Ice Cream Tumbler on Amazon. The tumbler cups have intricate details with sprinkles, hot fudge, and candy. It looks so realistic that you could eat it! It holds 15 ounces, perfect for water, iced coffee, cold brew tea, cold drinks, smoothies, and creative beverages. It’s Mickey-shaped! It keeps cold drinks colder and hot drinks hotter with a double wall tumbler and screw-on lid. It can hold beverages with a temperature of up to 175˚F. Oreos for the ears We love the details on the tumbler, but we wanted to test it out in the parks too! The details are amazing What we liked about the tumbler is that it is cute. We were also surprised that it was not very heavy at all! It’s easy to use and can hold a lot. Is anyone else getting 25th Anniversary Cake Castle vibes? There are a few things we would change about it. The water bottle comes with a reusable straw that matches it, but the opening at the top is so wide that it doesn’t catch the thicker bottom to keep it from exiting the cup. This could be a problem if it was tipped over. While it wouldn’t be good to keep it inside of a park bag, if you have a bungee side pocket on the side of your bag, this would work great! If you have a stroller, it would also work well in the cupholder. Gorgeous! Even if you don’t want to take it to the parks, we love the idea of using it around your resort while on vacation. You can also use it at your house to bring that Disney snack feel to your home. So fun and festive While it’s not essential or it might not make your trip easier, we still think it’s a great value because it’s so unique and can be used in other ways! It would also make an adorable gift. View on Amazon We update our Amazon Storefront daily so be sure to check it regularly for our latest finds! There’s snow place like Disneyland Paris where the resort has turned into a winter wonderland this week! As the first flakes of the season blanketed the park, it was the perfect time to grab a chocolat chaud and take in the snowy surprise. Over at Disneyland Hotel, which received a stunning transformation earlier this year, Elsa could be seen unleashing her Ice Magic over Disneyland Park. This one-of-a-kind moment took place in the Royal Suite, which is inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studio’s movie “Frozen.” Typically, Paris only receives snow a few days per year and this magical moment alone is expected to generate up to four inches in the Îl-de-France region, which is where Disneyland Paris calls home. This rare sight featured a snow-topped Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant (Sleeping Beauty Castle) and holiday décor laced in white. What better way to enjoy the holiday season than with real snow — Disneyland Paris Global Disney Ambassadors, Jose and Dylan, definitely didn’t let this moment go! The snow also brought a special milestone for the first time in, well, EVER. As construction continues on World of Frozen, opening in 2026, Disney Imagineers reveled in the moment and celebrated the land’s first snowfall with their very own Olaf-inspired snowman! It’s not often it snows at Disneyland Paris and we have to admit, we’re having a bit of FOMO! Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more updates from the resort throughout the year. Disney is about to do something NEW for Christmas this year! ©ESPN/Disney During Disney’s most recent earnings call, CEO Bob Iger spoke highly about the value of live sports, especially to advertisers. He also discussed the upcoming ESPN+ tile coming to Disney+ and the potential for AI-powered enhancements that may allow Disney to create “personalized” versions of SportsCenter. With all that, it should come as no surprise that Disney has now announced another technologically-advanced sports initiative. And it’s happening soon. Disney is teaming up with the NBA and ESPN for a Dunk the Halls event on Christmas Day. The broadcast will feature the “first real-time animated NBA game using Sony’s Beyond Sports technology…when the New York Knicks – led by Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns – host the San Antonio Spurs and Victor Wembanyama and Chris Paul.” The broadcast, which will be the first animated presentation of an NBA game, will air on ESPN2, ESPN+, and (for the first time ever for any NBA game) Disney+. The virtual game, set on a recreation of Main Street U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom, will use “state-of-the-art real-time visualization technology enabled by Sony’s Beyond Sports, combined with Sony’s Hawk-Eye Innovations’ optical tracking.” Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, Goofy, and Chip and Dale will cheer on the players. ©ESPN/Disney In addition to the fully-rendered presentation of the game, the broadcast will also feature: The Disney characters, led by Mickey Mouse, will “compete in a special slam dunk contest” at halftime Santa’s Elves will operate the cameras for the game while Santa himself will operate ESPN’s “SkyCam” The Disney characters will also “deliver pregame and halftime speeches to the players and decorate a large Christmas tree during the game” Fans will also get to find out if it will “snow on “Main Street, U.S.A.” and see how many churros Goofy can eat” ©ESPN/Disney Commentators Drew Carter and Monica McNutt will also be part of the fun, as they’ll be “animated in the style of the telecast and don ESPN Edge Innovation Partner’s Meta Quest Pro headsets to experience the game from Main Street, U.S.A. thanks to VR technology and Sony’s Beyond Sports’ Virtual Commentator Technology.” In addition, Daisy Duck will “serve as the sideline reporter.” Dunk the Halls will follow in the footsteps of previous Disney/ESPN collaborations, including Marvel’s Arena of Heroes, (an alt-cast of an NBA regular-season game in 2021) and the upcoming The Simpsons Funday Football presentation of a Monday Night Football game, which is scheduled to stream on Disney+ and ESPN+ on December 9th. ©ESPN/Disney Disney is teaming up with the NBA and ESPN to produce a special Dunk the Halls broadcast on Christmas, putting an even larger emphasis on the live sports part of their business! EPCOT, like the other Disney World parks, is always changing. 2024 Food and Wine Festival Year by year, month by month, and sometimes even week by week! However, there’s one big offering that makes EPCOT stand out from a food standpoint than the other parks, and that’s the four festivals the park has throughout the year. The current festival, EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival, is coming to an end tomorrow, and the park will almost immediately be very different. For one, the decorations and signs we’ve gotten used to seeing all over the park will disappear. Many of them will be overnight, but some others may take closer to 24 hours to go away until next year. It’s all going away! Of course, from a food standpoint, all the festival booths around the park will be closed and no longer offering their exclusive eats. This also means that the festival offerings available at quick service locations around the park, such as Connections Eatery and Cafe, Refreshment Outpost, and others, will also be gone. Korean BBQ Sandwich from Connections Eatery But one of the changes you may not be expecting, and it’ll be a little hard to tell since we’re going into Thanksgiving week when crowds are often higher, but EPCOT may be slightly less crowded than normal with the absence of a festival. Many frequent Disney World goers choose to visit the park when festivals are happening and almost ONLY when festivals are happening, so in this week where one is absent, they may be choosing to spend their time in other places. EPCOT Crowds Yes, you heard that right, we’re only going a week without a festival, because EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays begins on November 29th, the day after Thanksgiving! So we’ll be watching for those menus to pop up on the recently closed booths, and you know we’ll be sharing all those details with you the moment we get them! More Recent EPCOT News! Some new snacks from a galaxy far, far away have made their way to Disneyland! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Life Day in Star Wars lore is a Wookie holiday that has returned to Galaxy’s Edge at the Disneyland Resort and has brought with it décor, special merch, and exclusive eats. We’re back this year to try new and returning offerings and to let you know if they’re worth hopping in your speeder and traveling lightspeed to Disneyland! Last year, we tried three different Life Day snacks and were super happy with everything we ate. This year, we tried the Blue Milk with Golden Lichen Paddy Frog Eggs, Life Day Cheese Branch with Kat Saka’s Secret Sauce, Kashyyyk Cake, and Millaflower Toast! Smuggler’s Run First up, we tried the Blue Milk with Golden Lichen Paddy Frog Eggs at Milk Stand for $9.49. Milk Stand Menu This Blue Milk is served with strawberry puree and golden lychee popping spheres. On first sip, this tasted like regular Blue Milk but after a quick stir, we got a bit of a vanilla flavor. We recommend mixing the puree off the side of the cup to really maximize that fresh and sweet strawberry flavor. As for the popping spheres, ours were a bit floral in flavor. The drink is very refreshing, but the size isn’t huge, and, for nearly $10, this may be a one-time-only purchase. Blue Milk with Golden Lichen Paddy Frog Eggs Up next, we grabbed the Life Day Cheese Branch with Kat Saka’s Secret Sauce at Kat Saka’s Kettle for $7.99. We tried this snack last year and were HUGE fans! Life Day Cheese Branch with Kat Saka’s Secret Sauce Once again, this snack delivered. This treat is made with croissant dough mixed with cream cheese, parmesan, and cheddar with a spicy alfredo dipping sauce on the side. Our bread was nice and flaky with a sharp cheddar flavor. The sauce didn’t add much and wasn’t too spicy, but it did add to the overall cheesiness while providing some garlic flavor. Once again, we love this snack and can’t recommend it enough! We definitely wish it was a permanent item on the menu. YUM Next, we headed over to Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo to try the Kashyyyk Cake for $7.99. Kashyyyk Cake Another returning dish, this cake is made with a brownie base, raspberry sauce, tiramisu, and dark chocolate mousse. This dessert was incredibly rich and chocolatey, so be advised if you’re looking for something lighter. The brownie base on the bottom was served chilled, giving it a tougher-than-expected texture, as well. The tiramisu featured a bitter espresso flavor inside, and the raspberry sauce was tart in flavor, which went really well with the espresso and the chocolate flavors. The dark chocolate mousse really added to the richness and chocolate flavors. Overall, this thing is deceptively heavy, so be prepared for that or share the dessert with someone. Very chocolatey Finally, we tried the Millaflower Toast at Oga’s Cantina for $12. Millaflower Toast This snack is made with cinnamon-swirl toast, whipped ricotta cream, cheesecake frosting, strawberries, lychee pearls, chocolate crumble, and matcha powder. We weren’t huge fans of the hard texture, but the flavor profile was awesome. It was really sweet, savory, and more of a dessert than expected. The toast had a light cinnamon flavor, and the cheesecake frosting was sweet and dense. The whipped ricotta also stood out, as it was really light and creamy with a tangy yet sweet flavor. The strawberries were also super fresh — we just wish it came with more! The lychee pearls were also a fun addition with a light floral flavor. The matcha powder didn’t really do much. Outside of the texture, we really liked this and think it’s worth a try if you’re a fan of these flavors! Lots of great flavors happening here And there you have it! Now, you know how we go to Disney World every day, right? Well, even though we go so often, there are still things that surprise us. Magic Kingdom We’re not talking about new treats, or unexpected experiences we might encounter while at the parks. What we are talking about is the crowds, or rather, the specific lack there of on this one random week. We’re not complaining about it. On the contrary, we love it, so let’s talk about why this week might be the sweet spot for your next trip, plus what you need to know before you pack your ears and head out. If you’ve ever dreamed of strolling through Cinderella Castle without bumping into half the world’s population, I think we found the week that might just be your golden ticket — the week before Thanksgiving! It’s proving to be one of the best times to visit Disney World, and we are obsessed with how downright EMPTY the parks feel right now. Week Before Thanksgiving Crowds Seriously, the longest wait we’ve seen so far is 40 minutes. Only forty minutes! And no, this wasn’t during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or any other special ticketed evening event that clears the parks earlier in the day. This was just a regular old, crowd-free midweek Disney day. Why This Week Is Pure Magic Disney pros might already know this, but back in the paper FastPass days (yes, we’re going WAY back), the week before Thanksgiving was traditionally one of the slowest weeks of the year. It was like a well-kept secret among seasoned park-goers. Before there were runDisney race weekends, EPCOT festivals for every season, or the buzz of Lightning Lane strategizing, this week was blissfully quiet. Week Before Thanksgiving Crowds But honestly, it still makes sense. Most families are saving their vacation days for Thanksgiving week when they can combine travel with the holiday. Also, with kids still in school and no major holidays mid-November, this week flies under the radar. It’s the perfect little pocket of low crowds and even lower stress. How Empty Are We Talking? Okay, picture this: you’re in Magic Kingdom. You’ve just walked off Pirates of the Caribbean after a less-than 10-minute wait. Next, you’re heading toward Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, where the posted wait time is 20 minutes. Week Before Thanksgiving Crowds Even the big hitters like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain are clocking in at 40 minutes tops. This is practically unheard of in today’s Disney World, where we’ve grown accustomed to triple-digit wait times for the most popular attractions. Why We’re Loving This Timing As you can understand, this kind of crowd level means less stressing and more enjoying. You can take your time soaking in all the festive holiday decor and snapping photos with no random strangers in the background. You might even find yourself with enough time to just wander around with a churro in hand, marveling at how peaceful it feels. Week Before Thanksgiving Crowds Also because the parks are less crowded, you don’t have to sprint from ride to ride to cram everything in. You can take a leisurely stroll through the parks, or enjoy a midday break without FOMO. It’s a reminder that there are still times where Disney World can feel magical and relaxing even without the hustle and bustle we’re used to. A Quick Weather PSA Before you book that flight and start dreaming of no-wait rides, there’s one thing you need to know: the weather this week is as unpredictable as Virtual Queue availability at 7 a.m. Some folks are rocking tank tops and flip-flops, while others are bundled up in jackets and pants. Week Before Thanksgiving Crowds Florida in November is the ultimate wildcard. One minute it’s sunny and 80 degrees, and the next it’s breezy and chilly enough to make you rethink your life choices. So, pack smart! You’ll want to Bring layers, a light jacket, comfy shoes, and maybe even a poncho because, well, it’s Florida. Mark Your Calendar for Next Year Empty Disney parks are the stuff of dreams, and this week is turning those dreams into reality. So if you’re already mapping out your 2025 Disney World adventures, you might want to go ahead and pencil in the week before Thanksgiving. While Disney World usually does a good job of letting guests know about potential closures ahead of time, sometimes closures may catch you by surprise. Disney’s Animal Kingdom If you are headed to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the upcoming weeks, we have some news for you! There are two snack stands in Disney’s Animal Kingdom that are mysteriously not showing any hours. Dino-Bite Snacks is mysteriously closed for quite a bit of time. The snack kiosk is only showing hours on one day, November 26th, for the next two weeks. Starting December 6th, Dino-Bite Snacks is showing more consistent hours (except for no hours being shown on December 8th.) So far, the snack stand is showing normal hours in January though. Disney hasn’t announced a closure for Dino-Bite Snacks, so we aren’t entirely sure why this snack stand is not showing hours on those days. Dino-Bite Snacks Also, we noticed that the Caravan Road Kiosk is not showing hours for today, November 22nd, but hours are back to normal beginning tomorrow, November 23rd. It might be a possibility that Caravan Road Kiosk is not open today due to the cooler weather that has arrived in Disney World, but we don’t know for sure as Disney hasn’t announced the closure either. Caravan Road specializes in shaved ice, so Disney may be thinking those won’t sell very well today. Caravan Road Kiosk While these two snack stands aren’t showing hours, there are still PLENTY of dining options to check out in Animal Kingdom. Well, we’ve certainly had some BIG news about Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently. Disney’s Hollywood Studios We’re pretty excited about the new villains show coming to the park; however, the biggest news we received recently is all about the upcoming Monsters, Inc. land. Disney recently revealed the location for this land, and yes, that means we’re saying goodbye to the Muppets Courtyard (but hello to a Muppets-themed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster). But Disney also made another hidden announcement about Hollywood Studios: another new show is coming to the park. Disney recently revealed new details about the Monsters, Inc., land, but mentioned something that you might have actually missed. Yes, there will be a suspended roller coaster — a first for Disney — that will recreate the door vault scene from the first Monsters, Inc. film, BUT Disney also revealed the new land would have new dining and shopping. ©Disney And wait! There’s more! Because Disney’s announcement also revealed that this land would have a “whole new theater show.” Now, this is something that Disney had not revealed before. So we now know this land will feature a new attraction AND a new show. Will the new show be at the old MuppetVision 3D theater? Of course, Disney did not reveal any details about this show. There’s already one Monsters, Inc. show over in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom, though: Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. We’ll be curious to see if Laugh Floor somehow gets reimagined and moves over to Hollywood Studios, but as Disney was adamant about mentioning a “new” show, who knows? Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor We’ll just have to wait and see what Disney has in store for this new land. In the meantime, we’ll be keeping an eye out for more Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Planning a trip to Universal Orlando soon? We don’t blame you! Universal Orlando Not only did Universal just open the new Dreamworks Land, but you may have also heard about a little theme park called Epic Universe that’s opening in May 2025. And, while that might seem like AGES away at this point, Universal is enticing guests to come and visit Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure before Epic Universe opens with a NEW ticket deal! Universal Orlando has just announced a NEW ticket deal! Right now, when you purchase a 2-Park, 2-Day Ticket, you can get two whole days FREE! And, you can upgrade to include a day at Universal’s Volcano Bay water park if you want! Let’s get into the details. Hogsmeade Ticket prices and availability vary by day, so keep that in mind if you want to take advantage of this deal. Here’s a bit more of the fine print: Visit one park per day: Universal Studios Florida or Universal Islands of Adventure; OR choose a Park-to-Park ticket to visit multiple parks in the same day. A Park-to-Park ticket is the only way to enjoy a magical ride on the Hogwarts Express between Hogsmeade Station and Kings Cross Station. Valid for any 4 calendar days during a 7 consecutive calendar day period. Ticket price determined by first date of your visit; check price calendar. Suess Landing With the one-park-per-day ticket, you’ll get admission to either Universal Studios OR Islands of Adventure. If you choose the two-park-per-day ticket, you’ll get admission to both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure on the same day. Keep in mind that both ticket options are only valid for any four (4) calendar days during a seven (7) consecutive calendar day period — so you won’t be able to go for two days in December and then another two days in March, for example. Diagon Alley This Buy 2, Get 2 sale is going on now for travel through April 30th, 2025, so it will end just before Epic Universe opens. It takes a certain type of person to be a Disney World Cast Member. They must be 1.) personable, 2.) energetic, and 3.) enthusiastic. No sad sacks on the job! Mickey Mouse wants his coworkers to have FUN, after all! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Cast Members Why are we telling you this? Well, there’s an unspoken fourth trait that Cast Members must have to work at Disney World: tact. As a Cast Member, you’re gonna run into all kinds of weird situations that ONLY happen at a world-famous theme park like Disney World. They don’t teach you how to fix a Lightning Lane Multi Pass reservation in business school. So, sure, your local theme park ride attendant may be able to say, “Not my problem, lady,” when you bring them a problem, but Disney World Cast Members can’t get away with that kind of thing. We have several former Cast Members here on the Disney Food Blog team, so we know what it’s like inside the mind of a person working at Disney World. Ever wondered what Attractions Cast Members REALLY want to say when someone is being rude at a ride? We’re spilling the secrets. #1. Your vacation isn’t ruined. Pretty much any Cast Member you talk to probably has a story about a guest interaction gone wrong. Maybe a Disney guest was having a bad day. Maybe something went wrong on their trip. Maybe an interaction didn’t go the way they wanted it to. No matter the circumstances, Cast Members hear this phrase a lot: “You RUINED my vacation!” Visiting Guest Relations can be super helpful! Nine times out of ten, though, that phrase is an exaggeration. It’s easy to get caught up in the moment when something goes wrong on vacation; we get it. But step back for a second. You’re on vacation with people you love. You’re in a safe, well-maintained environment full of people who want to help. View from the PeopleMover Trust us — your vacation is NOT ruined. There are about a million things you can do to turn around a bad day. Just take a ride on the PeopleMover (a favorite of ours), and your mood will improve! #2. The ride is closed…it’s not that deep. Are you sensing a theme yet? Cast Members have to deal with a lot of dramatic attitudes. Sometimes, rides close unexpectedly. It happens! This is a theme park, open 365 days a year, that hosts hundreds of thousands of people. Things will go wrong! A recent Pirates of the Caribbean closure If a Cast Member is standing outside of a closed attraction, there’s nothing they can do but try to keep people informed. What Cast Members WANT to say versus what they ACTUALLY say when people take out their frustration are two very different things. What’s going through their heads, though? “Stop being so dramatic.” #3. I did not invent the Lightning Lane service. I just work here! Ever since Disney took away a beloved FREE perk called FastPass+ and replaced it with a PAID alternative…people have been unhappy. We can’t blame ’em! It’s no fun paying for something that used to be free. But, little do you know, Cast Members are just as inconvenienced as you. It’s not like Cast Members were the ones who invented the Lightning Lane service! Lightning Lane When something goes wrong with the service, who do people complain to? Disney CEO Bob Iger? Not exactly. The Attractions Cast Members must be the mediators, problem solvers, and rule enforcers. It’s not an easy job! They’re just doing their jobs like the rest of us. If only they could remind people! Slinky Dog Dash Disney World Cast Members are happy to help — it’s literally their job! But sometimes, when people have a bad attitude or mean things to say, it’s hard to keep a smile on your face. Ah, the life of a Cast Member! But, don’t worry, all the happy moments outweigh the bad ones. They make magic! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. Back at D23, Disney announced that an official Monsters, Inc. themed land would be coming to Hollywood Studios. Well, we officially got confirmation on where this new land will be going, but we also got some news we weren’t expecting AT ALL! ©Disney The new Monsters, Inc. land will be taking over the Muppets area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, BUT this isn’t the end of The Muppets in Hollywood Studios. In fact, The Muppets are being moved elsewhere in Hollywood Studios. Disney announced that The Muppets will be moving to Sunset Boulevard and taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster! You read that right, The Muppets (!) will be the star of the show on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and will be teaming up with some of “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.” ©Disney We are thinking no one probably had a Muppets retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster on their 2024 bingo card, but here we are! This will be the first Disney ride to feature The Muppets and there are sure to be “laughter, screams and new tunes for this attraction for fans to enjoy throughout the adventure.” Additionally, Disney teased that there will be plenty of Muppets-themed merchandise on Sunset Boulevard. Sunset Boulevard Disney said that there is still plenty of time to watch Muppet*Vision 3D and take a limo ride with Aerosmith on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster though. Disney hasn’t announced yet when construction will begin on the Monsters, Inc. land. We’ll be on the lookout for any and all updates leading up to the start of construction at Hollywood Studios so stay tuned with us here at DFB! A lot of exciting things are happening in Disney World right now, and there are even more exciting things coming up soon. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Test Track is getting a re-theme. A new Zootopia show is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which is also getting a brand new land, Pueblo Esperanza. Magic Kingdom is getting two new Cars rides AND a new Villains land, and a villains-themed show is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. However, something else is coming to Hollywood Studios, too, and that means a land will have to close down to make way for construction. Now, we know when that will happen. Muppets Courtyard will be closing in Hollywood Studios so work on a brand new Monsters, Inc. land can begin. The new Monsters, Inc. land will have at least one new ride based on the doors scene in the first Monsters, Inc. movie. ©Disney Disney also just announced that there will be a NEW theater show as part of this retheme, too! Plus dining and shopping as well. We can’t wait! ©Disney This means that Muppet*Vision 3D will also be closing to make way for this new land to be built at Hollywood Studios. But, FEAR NOT! The Muppets aren’t going anywhere! Okay, well, they’re moving — but we think you’re going to like where! Muppets Courtyard Disney announced that as part of this new overhaul, the Muppets will take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and “team up with music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.” Yep, that’s right — the Muppets are coming to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster! Disney hasn’t shared too many details, but we did get this awesome poster! ©Disney According to Disney, they are “having creative conversations and exploring ways to preserve the [Muppet*Vision 3D] film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future.” Does this mean we might get Muppet*Vision on Disney+?! We can hope! Disney has still yet to announce when these changes will begin or when the new Monsters Inc. land and Muppets version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster might open, but we’ll let you know when that changes! Disney’s Hollywood Studios If you have plans to visit Hollywood Studios, you’ll have to prepare yourself for construction walls, so just make a note if you’ve got a trip coming up soon. Get ready to open the door because Mike and Sulley are coming to town! That’s right, humans will be able to enter the world of Monsters, Inc. when it is added to the south side of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Building off the exciting announcements from last summer’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, the new land will include the coaster we’ve all dreamed of – a suspended ride recreating the door vault scene – plus dining and shopping and a whole new theater show. To make way for the monsters, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and more of their friends will be moving right along to Sunset Boulevard! But there’s more to the story: The Muppets will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, teaming up with some of music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival! We know so many of you share our love for The Muppets and know their energy will be a perfect fit for this coaster. Plus, as the first Disney ride ever to feature The Muppets, there’s sure to be laughter, screams and new tunes for this attraction for fans to enjoy throughout the adventure and plenty of Muppets-themed merchandise on Sunset Boulevard! In the meantime, there’s still enough time to catch a super-stretch limo to the Forum to enjoy Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and catch Muppet*Vision 3D again before their final curtain calls. As we move forward with these changes, we are having creative conversations and exploring ways to preserve the film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future. No doubt there are a lot of new adventures planned for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and we’ll have more details to share next year. The food court at Disney’s Pop Century Resort has been undergoing construction since July, and now we have another update on the progress! Disney’s Pop Century Resort We are getting one step closer to this food court no longer being under construction, so let’s take a look at the current situation! Everything Pop Shopping and Dining is located inside of Disney’s Pop Century Resort. This area houses the hotel’s gift shop and food court. It has been undergoing renovations since July 19th, and now more of the newly refurbished food court has been unveiled! Everything Pop Shopping and Dining When construction began in July, most of the food court was closed and guests were only able to Mobile Order from the food court. At the end of September, a large chunk of the food court reopened including the food counters, so guests were no longer required to Mobile Order. When we stopped by recently, we noticed that more of the food court has been reopened! Everything Pop Shopping and Dining Additionally, the entrance is no longer behind construction walls, although there are still some construction walls up. The entrance has reopened! While one small part of the food counters is still under construction… One section of the food court is still under construction A portion of the seating behind the gift shop is still under construction as well, but it seems like they are making good progress on the renovation. We are loving the bright and retro colors throughout the food court, and we feel like the new design really fits with the theme of Pop Century. Everything Pop Shopping and Dining Plus, the new murals are lots of fun and add a great touch to the seating areas! The holiday season has arrived in Disney World — and you know what that means. Tree at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort It means that all the parks and hotels are now decked out in holiday decorations with gorgeous Christmas trees. It also means that holiday snacks have arrived (probably our FAVORITE part of the holiday season). And it means the gingerbread displays are up at Disney World hotels, meaning that a lot of people will be visiting those hotels. However, we have a word of warning if you plan on visiting the most popular hotel gingerbread display. The gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is always a huge draw for the holiday crowds in Disney World. This impressive display brings a TON of people to the hotel during what is already one of the year’s busiest seasons. That means one thing: Disney starts cracking down on a specific rule for those who are not staying at the Grand Floridian but still plan to visit the gingerbread display there. 2024 Grand Floridian Gingerbread House Disney World has issued a warning for those who want to visit the Grand Floridian gingerbread display and plan on driving to the hotel to do so. Disney is telling guests to park at the Magic Kingdom parking lot (aka the Transportation and Ticket Center) and take the Monorail to the hotel. Parking is only allowed at the hotel for those staying there or those with a dining reservation at one of the hotel’s restaurants. ©Disney Disney also recommends those with dining reservations at the hotel to allow extra time for travel, which is generally a good rule of thumb for everywhere at Disney World during the holiday season. Things are going to be extra busy, so expect transportation to take a little longer in some instances. Disney World is changing its premium Lightning Lane pass less than a month after its introduction. Cinderella Castle Lightning Lane Premier Pass allows you to use the Lightning Lanes to skip the lines at most attractions in any given Disney World park — without having to make reservations and schedule your Lightning Lanes throughout the day. With this pass, you just scan in at the Lightning Lane — no reservation needed. And starting November 22nd, Disney World has announced a big change. When Lightning Lane Premier Pass was introduced on October 30th, 2024, you could only buy it if you were staying in a Disney World Deluxe Hotel, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, or Shades of Green. But now, you can buy Premier Pass if you are staying in ANY Disney World hotel — including Moderate or Value Resorts. Even value resort guests can now buy Disney World’s Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Here’s the full list of hotels you can stay in that will now allow you to buy Lightning Lane Premier Pass: Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort Disney’s All-Star Music Resort Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Beach Club Villas Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Disney’s BoardWalk Villas Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Disney’s Contemporary Resort Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Disney’s Old Key West Resort Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows Disney’s Pop Century Resort Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Disney’s Riviera Resort The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort – A Disney Vacation Club Resort The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Walt Disney World Dolphin Walt Disney World Swan Walt Disney World Swan Reserve Shades of Green Here’s a Full List of Rides Included with Lightning Lane Premier Pass! And keep in mind this pass is pricey, and the prices will vary depending on the day and which park you want to use Premier Pass in. We have seen prices range from $129 to $449 per day, per person, with the highest prices so far ($449) coming up on Thanksgiving weekend in Magic Kingdom. Is Lightning Lane Premier Pass Worth It in Disney World? Winnie the Pooh Lightning Lane Another important thing you need to know about Lightning Lane Premier Pass is that it can only be used in the park you buy it for. So, if you buy Lightning Lane Premier Pass for EPCOT and then decide to hop to Magic Kingdom, you will not be able to scan into the Lightning Lanes there with your Premier Pass. The BAD NEWS About Disney World’s Lightning Lane Premier Pass Now keep in mind that there are three ways to pay to skip the lines at Disney World, with Premier Pass being the most expensive. You can also buy Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which allows you to skip the lines at many rides in Disney World by making reservations throughout the day to return to ride during a specific hourlong window. Get ready to defy gravity! ©Universal Universal’s Wicked is debuting in theaters on November 22nd, 2024 and the hype is real! The epic musical fantasy is a screen adaptation of the wildly popular stage musical of the same name and has been highly anticipated for years now. We’ve been getting ready with some themed merch and playing the songs over and over again, but for those looking to sing along, one major movie chain says, “Not so fast!” Wicked on stage has already amassed a HUGE following of adoring fans who know all the lyrics by heart. However, fans wanting to sing along to these “popular” songs may want to take pause, as AMC Theaters is warning moviegoers that singing along will be considered a disruption and could lead to expulsion from the theater. It’s also become apparent that singing during showtimes could become an issue, regardless of this warning. Movie theater Fortunately, for those who feel they’ll have a tough time staying silent during musical numbers like “Defying Gravity” and “Popular”, Variety has reported that about 1,000 theaters in North America will offer sing-along screenings of Wicked beginning this Christmas, December 25th, 2024. The number of theaters could change and details aren’t finalized yet, but this feature is ideal for those looking for a more interactive experience.
