It’s time to come aboard Disney Cruise Line’s new ship, the Disney Treasure! Before it sets sail on its inaugural voyage out across the sea, chart a course for the very first photos of the majestic new vessel. You’re among the first to see where all Disney Cruise guests begin their vacation: the Grand Hall, or as we like to think of it – our palace on the seas. The Grand Hall embodies the ship’s theme of adventure and draws on real-world influences from Asia and Africa, as well as the enchanting land of Agrabah from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film, “Aladdin.” Disney Details Found in the Grand Hall on the Disney Treasure True to Disney Cruise Line tradition, the Disney Treasure features a unique character statue that brings the ship’s theme to life. At the heart of the Grand Hall is a life-size bronze statue of Aladdin, Princess Jasmine and Magic Carpet, right at the base of the grand staircase. Surrounding this iconic statue, are even more details found throughout the Grand Hall that are inspired by “Aladdin” and represent the film’s spirit of adventure. Nearby the statue, you’ll spot the magic lamp. The Grand Hall’s intricate carpet evokes the fountain in Jasmine’s courtyard and also features animals you’ll see in the film including Aladdin’s mischievous monkey sidekick Abu, Jasmine’s birds, the golden scarab beetle, and more. Entertainment Experiences in the Grand Hall on the Disney Treasure The Grand Hall also becomes a dynamic theater that offers incredible entertainment experiences, character encounters and interactions with special storytellers – the Treasure “Sea”kers – who perform short retellings of classic Disney stories. There are SO many incredible restaurants throughout Disney World — but if you ask us, some of the BEST are hiding at the hotels. Wings, Noodles, Dumplings, and Broccolini at ‘Ohana Sure, you’ve heard about ‘Ohana and Sanaa, Chef Mickey’s, and California Grill, but, what about those restaurants that aren’t often mentioned as the best? Does it mean they’re not worth checking out? Quite the opposite, actually, and that’s why we’re here to tell you about the BEST hidden hotel restaurant in Disney World. Over near Disney Springs, you’ll find Disney’s Old Key West Resort — the very first Disney Vacation Club property. It’s a severely underrated resort that’s themed around the Florida Keys, with tropical vibes and atmosphere to match. But, it’s also home to a severely underrated restaurant that we don’t think enough people talk about: Olivia’s Cafe! Olivia’s Cafe This Table Service restaurant serves up classic American fare and items inspired by the Florida Keys like Conch Fritters, Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos, and a Key Lime Pie for dessert during lunch and dinner. You can also find a delicious breakfast here, too, featuring Banana Bread French Toast among the offerings. This beachy, breezy, casual restaurant at Disney’s Old Key West Resort offers yummy dishes and a family atmosphere that anyone’s bound to love. Olivia’s Cafe Brunch Spread Olivia’s is also famous for their Savory Hushpuppies served with honey butter and their Southernmost Fried Chicken — which is served with a choice of eggs, Olivia’s Breakfast Potatoes, and a biscuit or mashed potatoes, southern gravy, a biscuit, and seasonal vegetables — depending on whether you’re joining for brunch or dinner! Southernmost Buttermilk Chicken Oh, and did we mention that Olivia’s is one of the few Disney World restaurants that not only serves brunch — but serves it every single day?! That’s right — when you can find a true “brunch” around Disney World, it’s often only available on the weekends. But, no matter what day you visit Olivia’s, you can get brunch as long as you book a reservation before 11AM — that’s when lunch/dinner kick in. Olivia’s Cafe This restaurant really does feel like you’ve been transported to the Keys — the atmosphere is warm and bright, beachy and cozy, and there’s a real family vibe to the place. This is clearly evidenced by the hundreds of photos lining the walls of the entrance — of real, DVC member family photos from throughout the years. Old Key West was Disney’s first Vacation Club property, and that gives it a real family-friendly, neighborhood vibe. If you ask us, it’s one that’s worthy of a stop no matter what time of day you visit! It’s finally happening! We’ve been given the opportunity to see the Disney Treasure, the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. The Disney Treasure We’ve been able to give you a first look at the Coco dining experience aboard the ship, as well as get a peek inside the ship’s THREE lounges, including the one we’re most excited about, Haunted Mansion Parlor. We even saw the ship’s christening (a VERY special occasion). But let’s talk about rooms. We previously gave looks at one of the ship’s staterooms, as well as the EPCOT-inspired Tower Suite, but now we’re going to bring you along to get a first look at the Lion King concierge suites. We are in New York City for the christening ceremony and media preview of Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Treasure! Disney Treasure ©Disney The Christening Spectacular happened last night, and today, we are going ONBOARD the ship! We are getting a first look at this brand-new cruise ship, and, of course, we are bringing you all along with us. As part of our tour, we got to see the beautiful rooms onboard the Disney Treasure. Now, if we could just figure out how to convince someone to let us live on the ship full-time…anyway, let’s take a look at the staterooms. ©Disney We stopped by a Verandah Stateroom. In total, the Disney Treasure has 1,256 staterooms, and of those, there are 948 verandah staterooms. Verandah staterooms are outside staterooms and have been designed with families in mind, complete with upscale amenities. ©Disney When designing these staterooms, Disney stated that their goal was to “strike an inviting balance between modern design and nostalgic charm with a fresh, natural color scheme and custom artwork that will entice guests to peer beyond their staterooms into fantastical worlds from heartwarming Disney adventures.” ©Disney The rooms are cozy and comfortable. Families will enjoy their stay in one of these rooms, even if they end up spending more time outside of it enjoying everything the ship has to offer. ©Disney Be sure to take some time to enjoy and admire the details you’ll find around these rooms. The artwork and special designs are very impressive and make you feel like you’ve been transported into a Disney story. Come with us aboard the Disney Treasure! ©Disney The newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet, the Disney Treasure, is set to make its maiden voyage on December 21st, 2024 and we’re getting a first look in New York City! The new ship will be home to several different experiences and restaurants such as the AquaMouse and Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix including one based on Disney and Pixar’s Coco! Disney invited us to take an early look at the Disney Treasure, including its new Plaza de Coco restaurant! ©Disney Plaza de Coco is set in the town of Coco‘s Santa Cecilia and is part of the ship’s rotational dining. The restaurant will offer two evenings of a dinner entertainment experience in addition to a menu that “draws inspiration from Miguel’s colorful world.” ©Disney The two dining experiences serve up Mexican-inspired fare as well as live entertainment, making guests feel like they are part of the familia. ©Disney The two dining experiences include a family gathering in Mariachi Plaza and a celebration of Dia de los Muertos, where Miguel will reunite with his great-grandparents with the help of his magic guitar. They will also feature two different dinner menus inspired by each experience. ©Disney A unique design detail we spotted was the family Ofrenda, decorated with beautiful flowers and framed photos of past family members. We are off on an adventure to seek out treasure…well, the Disney Treasure. Disney Treasure ©Disney Yes, we’re getting a chance to check out the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, and we are so excited. We are exploring the ENTIRE ship so we can get you all the details about its dining, entertainment, activities, and more. But right now, we’re checking out the ship’s lounges, and YES, that includes the Haunted Mansion-themed lounge EVERYONE is so excited about. So let’s go! Are you ready? Let’s get ready to LOUNGE! We’ll be checking out each of these lounges on our own in a bit, but for now, Disney has shared some sneak peeks and we just couldn’t wait to share them with you! Haunted Mansion Parlor The FIRST lounge we can’t wait to check out is the Haunted Mansion Parlor because we’ve been hyped about this bar since it was first announced. It’s a lounge…themed around the Haunted Mansion. Seriously, what’s not to love? For the first time ever, “Foolish mortals will sip spirited craft cocktails among 999 happy haunts.” So the story goes that the captain who owns the lounge met an untimely end after a “disastrous dinner with his beloved fiancé.” We can’t get over how much it resembles the Haunted Mansion! We really feel like we’ve stepped right into the iconic ride. ©Disney There’s even a Donald Duck chair! ©Disney The atmosphere is so dark and cozy! We know this lounge is going to be extremely popular among passengers on the ship. ©Disney We’re hoping we might get to experience some interactive features in this bar a la Trader Sam’s — but we’ll have to wait and see! ©Disney Stay tuned for our full tour! FULL TOUR of the Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure Cruise Ship Skipper Society Okay, so Skipper Society is OBVIOUSLY dedicated to all things Jungle Cruise, but mostly to Jungle Cruise skippers, because let’s face it — the Jungle Cruise would be NOTHING without them. Expect fun cocktails and lots of puns and “refined nods” to this classic Disney ride. ©Disney We’re getting some serious “Skipper Canteen meets Jungle Cruise” vibes in here. The lounge decor is reminiscent of the Skipper Canteen at Magic Kingdom, but you’ll find LOTS of lush greenery and even awnings that look just like the boats on the Jungle Cruise! ©Disney It looks like in addition to drinks, Skipper Society will also feature some light bites and eats along the way. ©Disney This lounge looks SO fun and we hope the Cast Members who work here are full of punny dad jokes — just like the Skippers on the Jungle Cruise and at Skipper Canteen. ©Disney Oh, and did we mention there will be live music at the Skipper Society?! Periscope Pub We love that Disney is embracing 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and has turned it into a lounge experience. In this lounge, it will seem like you really are UNDER the sea as you sail around in a submarine while drinking craft brews, eating some light bites, and more. Let’s check out Periscope Pub! ©Disney The atmosphere is inspired by a submarine with “19th-century steampunk influences.” There will be “a mysterious window into the mythical depths of the uncharted oceans” spanning the full ceiling! As the name suggests, you’ll even find a periscope or two around here. ©Disney Every single thing in this pub is themed — down to the tap handles! We spy some tentacles, a diver, and a lot of alcohol behind the bar. Periscope Pub will be home to craft beers, cocktails, light bites, and more. ©Disney By the looks of it, there will be screens on the ceiling — designed to look like windows that make you feel like you’re really 20,000 leagues under the sea. It’s happening! The Disney Treasure is being christened, and we’re at the official ceremony and getting a FIRST LOOK at the brand-new Disney cruise ship. Disney Treasure ©Disney The Disney Treasure has journeyed to New York City from Meyer Werft Shipyard to Eemshaven, Netherlands, to Port Canaveral, Florida. Now it is in its final steps towards making its maiden voyage on December 21st, 2024. We’re so excited and honored to be part of this special occasion and to bring you the FIRST EVER coverage from the ship. Now, get ready because we’re bringing you with us into the enchanting and adventurous Tomorrow Tower Suite! Disney is taking one of its Florida theme parks to the sea — more specifically, the new Disney Cruise Line ship! The Tomorrow Tower Suite is inspired by EPCOT, specifically the EPCOT’s World Discovery neighborhood (where Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Test Track, and Mission: SPACE are located). You’ll find details embodying the spirit and adventure of tomorrow, innovation, and discovery. Here’s a NEW sneak peek inside the special room. ©Disney As you step inside this beautiful suite, you will immediately find yourself in awe of the brilliant design features and details. It is incredibly dynamic and futuristic while showcasing beautiful EPCOT details. ©Disney Immediately upon entering the room, we spotted our first nod to EPCOT — a Spaceship Earth-inspired light! ©Disney The shared common space is very spacious and elegant. It has a bar, beautiful views, and a gorgeous chandelier. Those triangles remind us of the panels on Spaceship Earth! ©Disney Here’s another preview of the living room. We spotted chrome lights, modern furniture, and lots of natural light. ©Disney Here’s another look at the living room area. The bar looks like it has enough seats for four to five people, and there’s a large TV in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows. ©Disney Next stop: the bathroom! As you can see, this area is just as luxurious as the rest of the suite. ©Disney We love that mosaic tilework behind the spacious soaker tub. Talk about FANCY! ©Disney This suite is GIGANTIC! The almost 2,000 square feet of living space will comfortably sleep eight people. Speaking of sleep, here’s a preview inside one of the bedrooms! Notice that giant closet in the back of the room? ©Disney Yeah…this suite is pretty epic. Disney Treasure ©Disney The Disney Treasure is almost ready for its maiden voyage, and we got to check out everything new on the latest addition to the Disney Cruise Line’s fleet, including the HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED new lounge themed to Disney’s ICONIC Haunted Mansion. Last Fall, Disney announced that the Treasure would feature the Haunted Mansion Parlor, a lounge the company said would resemble the first-class drawing room of a classic cruise liner, taking “inspiration” from the original Haunted Mansion with a nautical twist. Between all the functions of the Disney World app and the camera, an iPhone or Android is integral. In turn, that means keeping a phone charged is also integral to a Disney vacation. So, what’s the best portable charger to pick up? If we could change anything about it, it would probably be a slight adjustment to the power button, as there is a tendency to need to press it often to make sure our phone is charging. Still, this is the most cost-effective, power-packed wire charger you’ll find. VIEW ON AMAZON Anker Magnetic Portable Charger Anker If you’re an iPhone user who doesn’t want a wired charger, this Anker magnetic charger might be what you need. Using Apple’s MagSafe technology, this brick attaches to the back of your phone and charges it completely wirelessly, which makes it especially convenient on Walt Disney World’s many rainy days, when you may not want to have wires and your phone port exposed. However, our one complaint is that the magnet, while strong enough to hold onto the phone, does have a tendency to slip if touched or moved around too much. That said, we love the convenience factor of these magnetic bricks. VIEW ON AMAZON FuelRod FuelRod What can we say about FuelRods? If you’ve been to Walt Disney World in the last decade, you know these chargers. They’re small, portable, and have interchangeable ports to charge any brand of phone. And, the biggest bonus of all is you can exchange them for fully powered ones at kiosks across Walt Disney World property, so you’ll never need to charge it while on your trip. Of course, there is one drawback to FuelRods. They tend to hold less of a charge than many other chargers, so you’ll probably need to exchange your rod a few times during the day in order to keep your phone fully charged. We here at DFB obviously enjoy theme parks. TRON Lightcycle / Run We’ll never turn down a trip to a Disney World park or say no to a day at Universal Orlando. Thrill rides, park food, and the exciting environment at a theme park are things we thoroughly enjoy. But what if that theme park is made up of rides featuring a popular video game that kids and adults have grown to love? Yep, we’ll probably enjoy that, too! This is why we’re excited about this new theme park announcement! Minecraft, the sensationally popular video game of blocks, is coming to real life! We’ll soon get to experience these fun games in the real world. ©Disney According to The Guardian, Minecraft has signed a deal with Merlin Entertainments, Europe’s largest theme park operator and second largest globally behind Disney. The deal will bring Minecraft-themed rides, attractions, hotel rooms, and retail outlets to the UK and US in a partnership called “Adventures Made Real.” You just might run into mobs (skeletons, spiders, creepers, etc.), ride mine carts, and see a bunch of square-styled animals at a theme park soon! ©Merlin ©Minecraft Merlin will invest more than $110 million in the first two attractions that are supposed to open in the UK and the US in 2026 and 2027. They will either be added to an existing theme park or as new stand-alone attractions. The goal is to eventually add more attractions to other countries and territories as well. ©Merlin ©Minecraft Kayleen Walters, the vice president, franchise development, for gaming at Microsoft, said in a statement, “We are everywhere digitally, Merlin is everywhere physically. It is about how do we expand Minecraft beyond the game. Mojang (maker of Minecraft) and Microsoft are experts on Minecraft, and the brand Merlin are the experts on location-based experiences; it is a shared vision.” ©Minecraft Scott O’Neil, the chief executive of Merlin Entertainments, shared, “When we look for partners, we look for the right people, scale, and community. We are in 23 countries, what brands can play at that level, you have to be one of the biggest brands in the world. We have partnered with the number one toy brand, Lego, the number one toddler brand, Peppa Pig, and now, in Minecraft, the biggest video game. Bringing Minecraft to life is going to be one of the greatest joys; this is just the beginning; our aspirations are very big.” Minecraft is a popular and entertaining game worldwide, even including in Antarctica and Vatican City. It has released educational games and is the bestselling video game of all time, with 140 million players each month. From February 20th through February 24th, you can dash around Disney World as the Disney Princesses compete against the wicked villains. You can run the 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon or compete in both the 10K and half marathon to win a special medal. The Treasure has arrived! Disney Treasure ©Disney The latest ship in the Disney Cruise Line Fleet, the Disney Treasure, is about ready to make its maiden voyage in December. However, before then, the ship is set for a massive media event to showcase all of its new additions to the press before she sets sail for good! This exciting Treasure media event will take place in New York City, and the ship has ARRIVED in the Big Apple! The Treasure in NYC! The Treasure is docked in the city, which is always a striking sight to see a cruise ship docked in the midst of a major city. In the city! The Treasure, the sixth ship in Disney’s fleet, features several additions to the line, including an updated version of the Aquamouse coaster, a restaurant themed to Coco, lounges themed to the Jungle Cruise and the Haunted Mansion, and other “experiences themed to various Disney characters and properties, including Walt Disney Pictures, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, and Pixar.” Haunted Mansion Parlor ©Disney The Disney Treasure has arrived in New York, and we’re getting ready to preview the BRAND-NEW Disney Cruise Line ship before it heads down to Florida for its maiden voyage. The heroes are rising. ©Disney While much of the attention coming out of the D23 Ultimate Fan Event focused on the announcement of the new lands coming to Disney World, including the Magic Kingdom’s long-anticipated Villain’s Land, there was another much more heroic expansion confirmed at the event that we’re equally as excited for! Disney is FINALLY expanding Avengers Campus at Disney’s California Adventure, adding two attractions to the Marvel-based land. The first, and most anticipated, is Avengers Infinity Defense. The latest iteration of the long-promised (and oft-delayed) Avengers-based E-Ticket attraction at the center of the land. According to Disney, this attraction will revolve around the premise that the “technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds has gone missing, and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc everywhere. Recruits will travel to iconic locations like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City alongside the likes of big, and small, heroes.” Avengers Infinity Defense will have guests join in battle across the multiverse alongside the Avengers to defeat King Thanos and recover stolen Stark technology. The ride and its concept art promise a trip through the multiverse, including interactions with Ant-Man, the Hulk, and King Thanos to name a few. In addition to said art, Disney also had a model of the attraction’s ride vehicle on display, which resembles a ride vehicle similar to the SCOOP model used in numerous dark rides, as opposed to the more advanced vehicles seen in the original 2019 concept art. ©Disney In addition to the centerpiece Avengers attraction, the expansion will also feature a second new ride: Stark Flight Lab. This new robotic arm attraction will feature a two-person pod that whites in a simulated flight similar to Iron Man’s suit. ©Disney On top of all of that, the attraction will feature Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in both attractions. ©Disney Construction on the attractions is scheduled to begin in 2025. Don’t hold your breath for a clone at Walt Disney World though. Thanks to the deals that a pre-Disney-owned Marvel made with Universal in the 1990s, theme park rights to the vast majority of the company’s characters belong to Universal east of the Mississippi River in perpetuity. ©Disney Avengers Campus is going to double in size in the coming years, headlined by a massive Avengers E-Ticket attraction. We’ve got an important update for you about one of our favorite EPCOT festivals! ©Disney Visiting EPCOT’s seasonal festivals during your trip to Disney World could be the highlight of your vacation. When Disney announced the dates of the upcoming Festival of the Arts for 2025, we didn’t get too many details about its entertainment offerings beyond that. However, it seems Disney is finally ready to share more exciting news about one of its popular festival offerings. One of the best offerings at EPCOT while attending the Festival of the Arts is getting to see some of the brightest stars from Broadway perform right before your eyes. The festival’s Disney on Broadway series brings these performers front and center, singing their iconic songs from popular Disney musicals like Frozen, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and more. ©Disney Disney just announced the coming year’s lineup of amazing live performers who have graced the Broadway stage in these productions, including some who originated their roles. Let’s take a look at who you can expect to attend (and when) this coming year: ©Disney But that’s not all! Disney’s latest update on this offering confirms that a popular option of the festival will be returning in 2025. If the idea of dinner and a show makes you want to sing, check out the Disney On Broadway Dining Packages! Dinner Package Entrance With this option, you can choose to enjoy a meal from one of 15 participating EPCOT restaurants and enjoy guaranteed priority seating at one of the Disney on Broadway Concerts that night. Booking for these dining packages will begin on December 18th and will be available to book on the Disney World app or through Disney World’s website. Time for the show! The fun doesn’t stop there! Food Studios will also be returning this year, giving art critics and gourmands alike a chance to enjoy a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. More updates soon on what those menus will look like for this year’s upcoming festival! 2024 Vibrante Vivido Encanto Cocina food booth The Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine will also be returning, allowing you to take a walk on the tasty side as you enjoy delicious eats around EPCOT. 2024 Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine Use your Festival Passport to look for these special menu items, track your progress by collecting a stamp after each purchase, and once you’ve enjoyed at least 5 of the 7 dishes, bring your stamped Festival Passport to the Deco Delights Food Studio to receive a complimentary Artist Palette Cookie. Animation Academy at the American Gardens Theater will be returning daily at 12:30 and 1:30PM, allowing you the chance to learn to draw Disney characters from featured Disney artists like Luke Consolo, Matthew Dewater, Justin Dring, Will Gay, and more! 2024 Animation Academy Visual Art in Performance is returning to the World Showcase Plaza. This special offering will only take place Thursday through Sunday during the festival, and it’s your chance to watch an artist paint a Disney character in mere minutes! We’re big fans of the Disney World transportation system! Disney World’s Skyliner The free offerings are great for guests trying to get around the resort. Each option has several perks, but there are downsides to each as well. One of our favorite modes of transportation around Disney World is the Skyliner. It’s practically a ride on its own before even getting into the parks! It’s typically efficient and offers direct access to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. However, there are two downsides to it as well. The Disney Skyliner moves people between several resorts, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. Disney’s Art of Animation, Disney’s Pop Century, Disney’s Riviera, and Disney Caribbean Resorts are each located at Skyliner stations, where you can catch a gondola to one of the other three resorts or to the two parks. Skyliner Station at Disney’s Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts We really do love the Skyliner as it provides a direct trip to the two parks. However, there are two huge problems that come with the Skyliner. Weather The Syliner is Disney World’s “highway in the sky,” but that also means that its operation relies on good weather. If it’s raining without lightning, you’ll likely still be able to use it. But if lightning is in the area, the Skyliner will be shut down. And unfortunately, rain and storms are pretty common in Florida. Skyliner closed at Hollywood Studios If you’re at your hotel and trying to get to Hollywood Studios or EPCOT when it shuts down for weather, Disney will provide buses to the parks, and the other way is also true, buses will be provided from the parks to the hotels. However, this can take longer, especially if you were already in line for the Skyliner. Skyliner Unfortunately, if you’re at EPCOT trying to catch the Skyliner at International Gateway and it closes for weather, that means a very long walk to the front of the park to catch the bus. If you happen to be on the Skyliner when it closes for weather, know that your safety is the priority for Cast Members, and if needed, there is an emergency kit on each gondola. Long Lines Typically, you can catch the Skyliner from any of the stations without much of a wait. You’ll often find it a walk-on ride, which is one of the many perks of this transportation system. However, that is not always the case, and there are certain times of the day when you may end up in a pretty hefty line. Skyliner gondolas Mornings are one of the times you may find a much longer line than usual, especially at the interchange station at the Caribbean and Riviera Resorts. This is where the two Skyliners meet, and all the hotel guests come through this one station, making early mornings a bit busier as everyone heads to rope drop the parks. Also, those with large strollers, ECVs, and wheelchairs may make the Skyliner briefly stop so they can safely board the gondola. Skyliner station Another busy time for the Skyliner is at night when the parks close. Particularly, the International Gateway Skyliner station can get packed up for a VERY long way. We’ve seen this line reach Disney’s Beach Club Resort and take a relatively long time to load everyone at the end of the night from EPCOT. For guests staying at Skyliner resorts, this is usually the only way to get back to your hotel as you won’t be able to take a bus back unless there is bad weather (another option would be to take a ride-share vehicle back). The line at the International Gateway station can get VERY long We truly do love the Skyliner, but these are two problems to watch out for as you journey through the sky! Otherwise, it’s a great way to try restaurants and attractions at the Skyliner resorts from Hollywood Studios or EPCOT during an afternoon break. For more Disney tips and tricks, keep following DFB! As we continue to recognize National Veterans and Military Families Month, we were honored to host a special U.S. Army family who visited Walt Disney World Resort for the first time as the recipient of Operation Gratitude’s 4 millionth care package that contained some magic inside— an all-expense paid vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth! To say that U.S. Army Sgt. Lamari Harris, a single mother of 3 children, received the surprise of a lifetime when she was presented with this special care package by her Army leadership in the deserts of Southwest Asia would be an understatement. The Operation Gratitude care package contained a Mickey Mouse plush and the news that her service was being recognized with a trip to Walt Disney World once she returned home. Operation Gratitude’s 4 millionth care package included a Mickey Mouse plush and a card announcing an all-expense paid trip to Walt Disney World for a deployed U.S. service member. Harris had been deployed for months in the region with the 82nd Airborne Division and reported her shock when she learned her fellow soldiers had nominated her to receive this family trip to Walt Disney World. During her 6-month deployment, Harris relied on her mother and Army veteran Jacquline Rice and extended family to watch her children, highlighting the sacrifices some military families make in support of their service to country.
