The 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is now open and we’re eating our way around World Showcase!

Tangierine Café

You’ll find lots of food booths with delicious eats and drinks, merchandise you can’t wait to get your hands on, and concerts to catch. Luckily, we’re here to take you through it all so you know what’s worth a stop. And now we’re heading to one spot — Tangierine Café: Flavor of the Medina  — to check it out!

Menu

Over at Tangierine Café: Flavor of the Medina, you’ll find savory and sweet dishes — and they’re all returning. That doesn’t mean you won’t find something delicious here though, and there are some new hard ciders!

Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, it’s time to try some food.

Eats

We started off with a festival staple at this booth — Grilled Kebabs with carrot-chickpea salad and garlic aïoli. As usual, you can choose from chicken or lamb, so naturally, we tried BOTH! These are $6.25 each.

Grilled Kebabs with carrot-chickpea salad and garlic aïoli — Chermoula Chicken

Of the two meats, the chicken was our favorite. We were happy with the portion sizes of both options, but we preferred the flavors of the chicken. The lamb wasn’t screaming lamb to us; it tasted more like a sausage or chorizo without any spice. However, we still liked both options enough.

Grilled Kebabs with carrot-chickpea salad and garlic aïoli — Moroccan-spiced Lamb

The fresh vegetables had a medley of chickpeas, carrots, and what seemed to be raisins, and it was super good! We would recommend either of these items.

The Fried Falafel Pita with Tahini Sauce for $5.50 has been a delicious vegetarian option when we’ve had this before.

Fried Falafel Pita with tomato-cucumber relish and tahini sauce

Our falafel was also yummy! The pita was soft and the falafel wasn’t too crispy, so it’s easy to bite or cut into. It was filled full with falafel, relish, and sauce which was great. Overall, there’s good flavor, a good portion size, and a good consistency.

It’s easy to cut into

Next, we tried the Stone-baked Moroccan Bread with Hummus, Chermoula, and Zhoug Dips for $5. Y’all, this bread is so light and fluffy — it doesn’t even NEED any dips. But, we tried them anyway, of course!

Stone-baked Moroccan Bread with assorted dips

As usual, this bread was tasty! We found that it held its form better this year than it did last year, so we filled it with dip and totally enjoyed it. All of the dipping sauces were fantastic, as well. The chermoula reminded us of a chipotle salsa (which was our favorite), one was a plain hummus, and the green zhoug dip is a spicy cilantro sauce which was also really good. This bread is a fun appetizer to share with the rest of your items here!

The bread and dips were great!

For dessert, we had the Pistachio Cake with Cinnamon Pastry Cream and Candied Walnuts for $4.75.  We’ve liked this cake at past festivals and it usually does not disappoint.

Luckily, the same can be said this year! It’s a cute, moist cake with good flavors that complement each other. The filling tastes like spiced fig which helps tone down the pistachio flavor of the cake itself. The walnuts and chocolate are great additions as well for textural elements, plus the walnut adds a nice sweet, nuttiness.

This cake never lets us down.

Well, now that we’ve tried some food, let’s wash it all down with some cider!

Drinks

Once again, a Cider Flight is on the menu and it features two NEW hard ciders and one returning. You can get the flight for $10.25 or purchase each cider individually for $5.75 for 6 oz. or $9.75 for 12 oz.

New for this year is the Keel Farms Blackberry Pear Hard Cider and the Coppertail Brewing Fallen Fruit Tamarind Mint Hard Cider. The 3 Daughters Brewing Fig Hard Cider is returning.

Hard Cider Flight

The lightest of these three beers is the fig cider which was a good cider with the fig flavor hitting on the back end of your sip. This was also a bit sour.

The middle beer is the tamarind mint cider which was our favorite of the three. It didn’t have a strong mint flavor, instead, it was more of a sour tamarind flavor. It’s really enjoyable if you like sour ciders.

Coppertail Brewing Fallen Fruit Tamarind Mint Hard Cider

The darkest cider in the flight is the blackberry pear cider which was our least favorite. It was very sweet, and we wish it would have had more of a bite from the blackberry. It’s a weird combination of blackberry and pear that just makes the drink super sweet. So in this flight of ciders, you’ll get a sour cider, sour cider, then sweet cider.

The Fig Cocktail with white cranberry juice and fig vodka is returning yet again this year. In previous years, we thought it seemed a little sweeter than we’ve experienced at past festivals. If you don’t like cranberry or fig flavors, you’ll want to skip it. Try it for yourself for $11.50.

You can also grab the CORKCICLE Stemless Flute here for $24.

Overall

Overall, we thought Tangierine Cafe: Flavors of the Medina was a great stop! While all of the food items are returning this year, they lived up to our expectations. We would recommend stopping for some delicious Moroccan food and ciders on your trip through the festival.
