Disney4me
The executive team at The Walt Disney Company has been changing quite a bit since Bob Iger returned to his role as the company’s CEO in 2022. ©Disney This is actually fairly normal for a company, especially when priorities begin to shift, and executives go on to other roles in the company or find other opportunities outside of the company. Several executives have left over the past few years, but one Disney executive recently chose to step down to focus on her other priorities within the company: making sequels to the popular Frozen franchise of films. According to Deadline, Jennifer Lee, who has been the Chief Creative Officer of Disney Animation since 2018 is stepping down from that role so she can focus on directing and writing the two Frozen sequels currently in the works, Frozen 3 and Frozen 4 with Marc Smith. ©Disney She will be replaced, effective immediately, by Oscar-winning Encanto filmmaker Jared Bush. He will report to Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Alan Bergman. ©Disney Lee said, “I am so grateful to Bob and Alan for supporting my decision to return to filmmaking full time. Every day working with them is a master class in creativity, business, community, and integrity. I’ve always believed in Jared’s incredible talent and can’t wait to see, with his passion and dedication to animation, what he brings to the CCO role. For me, getting to collaborate with this studio of artists, animators, and storytellers is such a privilege, and I look forward to all we will create together.” Frozen 3 is expected to release in November 2027. We saw some concept art for the movie back in August at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. At that same event, Disney also announced that the Frozen Broadway musical will premiere on Disney+ in 2025. Stay tuned to DFB for more!
