“Hm. That’s a Little Off-Putting.” Starbucks Just Released a NEW Drink in Disney World, and We Have Thoughts

Recommended Posts

We have a love/hate relationship with Starbucks in Disney World. On the one hand, we do like having Starbucks ready to serve us a shot of caffeine when we need it (which comes up a lot when traipsing all over Disney World).

However, we also hate the long lines we often see at Starbucks in Disney World because everyone has the same idea. We DO, though, get excited when the new drink menu hits, and we recently reunited with Pumpkin Spice Latte, as well as some NEW fall drinks. Well, Starbucks just released ANOTHER new seasonal drink, so we had to try it.

We headed over to Main Street Bakery, the Starbucks location in Magic Kingdom, to try the new Iced Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte. Starbucks describes the drink as something that “tastes like fall, bringing together pecan flavors, baking spices and rich brown buttery notes with the soft, beautifully balanced flavors of Starbucks Blonde Espresso.” But what did we think?

It’s fairly tasty, but most of the flavor that comes through is the oat milk. You get a hint of pecan, but it’s almost like melted butter pecan ice cream. So it’s a little strange, to the point where our reporter remarked, “Hm. That’s a little off-putting.” The coffee flavor of the Blonde Espresso is also pretty mild, so if you don’t like a bold coffee flavor, this could be a pleasant drink for you.

Will this coffee make for a magical day?

To us, it seems like it’s a coffee made for folks who put a lot of creamer in their coffee. However, it isn’t very sweet, and we think it could benefit from some extra sugar. It’s good, but is it great? Well, we think we miiiight order it again to give it another chance, but we’d add sugar.

A grande is $6.49 and we honestly don’t think this is anything more special than a Blonde Coffee with extra creamer in it. We really wanted more pecan flavor. Note that you can also get this as a hot coffee drink (but it’s too hot here in Florida for that right now).
