Disney4me
Believe it or not, hurricane season is not over yet, at least for Disney World. Hurricane season generally runs through the end of November, so we have several months of potential bad weather to look out for. So far, we’ve only had one system that has impacted Disney World, when Hurricane Debby came through Florida. Since then, we have seen other tropical storms and hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean, and now, there are currently a total of four systems the National Hurricane Center are watching for tropical storm or hurricane activity. Yep…FOUR. We were previously warned that this would be a busy hurricane season, and it looks like that’s still a very real possibility. That’s right, there are four disturbances in the Atlantic Ocean that are being carefully watched right now. The first is actually remnants of Gordon and has a 10 percent chance of cyclone formation over the next seven days. However, “significant development” of this system is not expected, so that’s good news. ©NHC The second disturbance also only has a 10 percent chance of cyclone formation over the next seven days. Right now, it’s just an area of low pressure producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. The NHC does not expect that this one will form into anything significant either. ©NHC The third system is a little more concerning. It’s located in the Eastern and Central Tropical part of the Atlantic Ocean and has a 30 percent chance of cyclone formation over the next seven days. It’s expected to move off the Coast of Africa on either Sunday or Monday and make its way west-northwest. ©NHC The fourth disturbance is the one forecasters are most concerned with right now. It’s heading into the Gulf of Mexico and currently has a 60 percent chance of cyclone formation over the next seven days. It’s already expected to produce heavy rains over portions of Central America regardless of whether it develops as a tropical storm. ©NHC We’re sure the National Hurricane Center will be keeping an eye on all four systems, and if we see any updates, we’ll be sure to let you know.
