Okay, so you know us, and we have a lot of favorite dining spots ALL over Disney World.

Animal Kingdom

But if you asked us about our favorite park for food, we very well might tell you that if we could choose a park JUST based on its food, we’d choose Animal Kingdom every time. The food there just SLAPS. However, we have a favorite quick-service spot there, too, and yes, you know where we’re going with this if you’ve been with us for a while. Two words: Cheeseburger Pods. Yep, we love Satu’li Canteen, and well, now a former Disney Imagineer who had a lot to do with helping create Animal Kingdom has commented on that restaurant!

Former Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde, who retired from the company in 2021, was one of the minds behind creating the world of Pandora for Animal Kingdom. In fact, he was the creative executive of Animal Kingdom and served as creative director for that project. So needless to say, he knows a lot about Animal Kingdom and Pandora.

Pandora

Inside Pandora, you’ll find Satu’li Canteen, a restaurant that sits in the middle of a land that’s based on a foreign planet somewhere far away from Earth. The menu there isn’t anything TOO out of the box, but at the same time, it really still lends itself to the Pandora vibe.

Satu’li Canteen is one of our FAVORITE Quick Service Restaurants!

Joe Rohde recently explained it best when he recently commented about Satu’li Canteen on X (formerly known as Twitter). When an X user posted: “Satu’li Canteen out here redefining how good theme park quick service can be,” Rohde replied: “An interesting example of theme as opposed to backstory. The food isn’t particularly otherworldly (that would be backstory) but it is expressive of the theme of harmony with nature.”

We love that! Of course, the person who helped create the land would put it so succinctly. All we know is that the food here is INCREDIBLE and it fits the Pandora theme SO WELL. We guess it’s time to go get some more Cheeseburger Pods…
