Blizzard Beach is BACK!

Blizzard Beach

Walt Disney World’s water park themed as a ski resort slowly melting in the Florida sun recently reopened after its annual refurbishment. In addition to iconic attractions like Summit Plummet, guests at the park will also be able to try out some NEW food offerings. But are they worth it? We found out!

First up, we checked out the offerings at The Warming Hut.

The DOLE Whip Orange Swirl Cone ($6.29) was a bit basic, simply a cone with DOLE Whip. However, it is a bit unique given how combatively hard it is to find the orange flavor on property compared to other flavors. However, just because it was a bit basic doesn’t mean it’s not delicious. In fact, it’s a perfect water park snack thanks to how refreshing the citrus is.

The Winter Harvest Salad with Chicken ($13.99) surprised us a bit. It was loaded with chicken (which along with the dressing, was included in a side cup to be added to the salad on our own). The dressing had a bit of an acidic taste to it, though that was mollified by mixing it together like this. Overall, it was a good salad if that’s what one is in the mood for, but it definitely has the taste of a pre-made refrigerated salad.

The Elote Nachos with Pork  ($12.49), which we confirmed are the same that were offered at Typhoon Tillie’s at Typhoon Lagoon, are one of our favorite water park dishes. The nachos are loaded with toppings, including pork, corn, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, jalapeños, and Pico de Gallo, but thanks to the thickness of the chips, things never get soggy. We’d definitely recommend it.

After The Warming Hut, we ambled over to I.C. Expeditions to try two sweet offerings.

First up was the $8.29 Praline Sundae. The praline topping, as well as the mini-churros, were delicious. However, the dish was dominated by ice cream, to the point where it was just too much.

Next, we tried the Apple Pie Churro. This $9.29 snack was interesting. Even though it’s sold as a churro, it’s actually several mini-churros topped with whipped cream and apple pie filling. We’d actually recommend getting a cup of vanilla ice cream to mix with this and turn it into a bit of a custom sundae offering.

Finally, we headed over to Cooling Hut for the S’Mores Cold Brew. We’ll be real, we’re going out with a whimper here. Our $5.29 cold brew was over-brewed and bitter. It also seems like it’s aimed at no one. Those who prefer bitter coffee won’t want the sweet toppings (toasted marshmallow, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and a graham cracker rim) and those who enjoy the sweet offerings won’t enjoy the bitter coffee.

You’d be much better off going to the Joffrey’s location that is present in the park (despite not being listed on the map).

Blizzard Beach Joffrey’s

Overall, we tried 6 dishes at Blizzard Beach… and we’d definitely recommend 5 of them! Just be sure to pair them with some Joffrey’s Coffee. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney World’s ever-evolving food landscape.
