Disney4me
Tickets are up to $219 per person for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year. Snacks around the parks cost more than they did last year. Hotels prices hit a peak around the holiday season. It’s not cheap to visit Disney World between November and December. Party map! But, come on, it’s one of the most magical times of year to visit Disney World; we can’t blame you for considering a trip to Florida this year. There are festive Christmas trees. Gingerbread displays. Holiday entertainment. It’s a great time! Should you splurge on a trip and go to Disney World for the holidays? We can’t answer that question for you. Is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party worth it this year? Well, we visit the party every single year, so we can share what we know about the party this year to help you decide. General Overview Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a seasonal Magic Kingdom event that happens on select nights between November 8th and December 20th. The party begins at 7PM and ends at midnight, but you can enter the Magic Kingdom as early as 4PM. A ticket to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party comes with a lot of party-exclusive events and activities, like a holiday stage show, character meet-and-greets, and special treats. One popular perk of the party is the complimentary Cookie and Cocoa at designated spots throughout Magic Kingdom. FREE Cookies and Cocoa! Plus, you can ride several Magic Kingdom attractions with little to no wait. (Even the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride!) The real star of the show, though, is the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, which runs twice per Party night at 8:30PM and 11PM. For a lot of people, this parade alone is worth the price of the ticket. Mickeys Once Upon A Christmastime Parade Speaking of ticket prices, they’re not cheap. Adult ticket prices vary by date and range from $169 to $219 (Children ages 3 to 9 are $10 less than adult prices per night). The closer the party is to Christmas, the more expensive the ticket. Club Tinsel Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s talk about the experience. Everything you need to know about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Is it worth the cost? Well, it depends. One thing we can say is that with the price having increased this year, we do think the party itself has improved since last year. The addition of Santa’s Carnival was FANTASTIC and gives you even more things to do with fun games and snoap. It was a great way to change up the Santa meet-and-greet. Santa’s Christmas Carnival Also, we feel like the free cookies and hot cocoa that you can get are even better than the free candy at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It feels like a more substantial offering than what you get at the Halloween Party. Granted, we also liked a lot of the exclusive snacks we bought at the party, but you could just fill up on cookies and hot cocoa and call it a night. Frosted cookies in Tomorrowland We also felt like we saw more characters this year, and even stumbled upon The Country Bears doing a Christmas hoedown with live musicians. There were a lot of holiday magical moments like this throughout the night that you don’t necessarily get during the day. Aurora and Prince Phillip Ride wait times are also generally low, although you probably don’t want to spend valuable party time just doing rides because there’s so much else to do that you can’t usually do with a day park ticket. Welcome to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Ultimately, you will have to decide if the price is worth it, especially if you’re traveling with a group. We do recommend skipping a park ticket on the day you attend the party, though. Just take a break at your hotel that morning and head to Magic Kingdom at 4PM, when you can get into the park early with your party ticket. That will give you about eight hours of park time for just a little more than what a park ticket would cost. Yes, the party is shorter than a full-day park ticket, but Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party offers more things to do in a shorter time, so overall, yes, it very well may be worth it.
