Pirates of the Caribbean in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

That’s right — Disney announced that a new pirate-themed lounge would be joining the dining lineup at Magic Kingdom, and while we don’t have too many details about it yet, we do have plenty of concept art! We recently got a new look at this upcoming space and we can’t help but speculate wildly about what it could mean.

The brand-new Pirates of the Caribbean lounge coming to Magic Kingdom sometime in 2025 is a first-of-its-kind experience that “will extend the story of Pirates of the Caribbean.” We’ve seen plenty of concept art for this new spot in the past…

…but this new piece of concept art Disney recently released has us even more excited! We love the dark yet tropical vibe we’re seeing here, and we think we’ve spotted some clues that might give us details about what we can expect from this space.

Quite a bit of speculation has been going around about whether or not the new Pirates tavern will serve alcohol or not. Table service restaurants are the only places that currently serve alcohol in Magic Kingdom, and Disney has referred to this space as a bar or lounge which connotes alcohol.

We’re anticipating something similar to Oga’s Cantina at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where both alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks are served along with light bites of food. And, this lady drinking out of what looks like a souvenir skull cup seems to support that argument!

Disney has previously mentioned that this space would feature some snacks and more, but it looks like we’ve got further confirmation that’s the case — we can see a plate of food being served in the background here!

We think we may have also noticed another little Easter egg hiding in this concept art — the East India Trading Company logo! This is a nod to the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and the very real East India Company from back in the day.

We’ll be on the lookout for every single announcement about this new lounge since we can’t wait for it to open! In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest updates and news from Disney World.
