Disney4me
It’s all in the details. March! The 2024 Holiday season at Walt Disney World launched in earnest last weekend with the first dates of this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The event featured many of the traditional elements that have made it a major part of the Holidays for many families in the last several decades. However, this year we noticed a few minor differences. One of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party’s major offerings is Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. The parade is described by Disney as one where guests can “snap memorable photos of dancing gingerbread men, marching toy soldiers and beloved Disney Characters as they float by, waving hello. There’s even a special appearance by Santa Claus—riding in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.” While the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is still a part of the party, being staged twice nightly at 8:30PM and 11:00PM on party night, our reporters noticed a few minor changes this year. First off, the pre-parade music loop has changed from “Christmas is Coming” to “Frosty the Snowman.” The parade is a must! Next, the decorative balls carried by the elf performers have changed. This year, they’re red with green and white stripes. Note the balls. Finally, Queen Elsa (of Frozen fame) is now wearing her special seasonal meet & greet outfit while on her parade float. These minor changes likely don’t alter the experience of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade for the majority of guests, but they’re definitely recognizable to those who spot the little details.
