Getting to stay at a Disney World hotel is a pretty special experience.

There’s nothing like the immersion and the convenience to really get you into the swing of your Disney World vacation. That being said, not every room in a Disney hotel is created equal! So let’s talk about a couple of rooms you’ll want to beware of for your next stay at a Disney World hotel!

As we were saying, staying at a Disney World hotel is pretty special. That is so long as you don’t stay in one of these rooms!

Pool-View Rooms

At first glance, a pool-view room sounds like a win, right? You get to step out to that sparkling blue water each morning, watching families splash and having a fun vacation moment…until you realize that it comes with an almost nonstop poolside cacophony of children, music, and general poolside chaos.

Not to mention, pool areas can be open late, especially in the summer, which might make an early night’s rest a bit tough to attain. The noise doesn’t really settle until the pools officially close, and that can be a little too late for those with early-morning theme park plans. You’ll want to consider instead a garden or courtyard view! These tend to be quieter, with pretty landscaping, and without the hustle and bustle that comes with the pools.

Boardwalk View Rooms at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is an amazing hotel that takes you back to an old-school East Coast boardwalk setting, complete with restaurants, shops, and lively entertainment right outside your window. But if you’re imagining a peaceful, relaxing stay, think again. The BoardWalk can be a pretty noisy place from morning till night.

So, unless you’re a night owl who thrives on energy and background noise, these rooms just might be a little too much energy for those craving a quieter spot to unwind. The same goes for this one. You might want to consider instead a garden view room or one in a quieter section of the resort. You’ll still be close to the action but won’t feel like you’re in the middle of a 24/7 street festival.

Rooms Far From the Lobby or Transportation Stops

Let’s talk about Disney’s hotels with sprawling properties like Animal Kingdom Lodge, Coronado Springs, or the Caribbean Beach Resort. These resorts are massive, and some rooms can feel like they’re on the other side of the planet! If you’re far from the lobby, food court, or transportation stops, you could end up walking a mile just to grab coffee or catch a bus to the parks.

After a full day of walking around Disney, adding a trek back to your room is the last thing anyone wants. So, if you have little ones or just want to save your feet some mileage, avoid rooms at the far end of these larger resorts.

When booking, ask for a room close to the lobby, main building, or even one near a transportation stop. Granted, Disney can’t guarantee requests, but they do try their best to accommodate, and it’s absolutely worth asking for a more convenient spot.

Ground Floor Rooms

Ground floor rooms, especially those with exterior doors or patios, can sometimes be noisier than rooms on upper floors. While these rooms are super convenient for popping in and out, they can bring in a lot of extra noise from passersby or kids running around nearby.

Additionally, these rooms can be more prone to bug visitors. As you know, Florida’s got mosquitoes aplenty, and the last thing you want to do is invite them into your hotel room! So, if you can, aim for the second or third floor if you can. You’ll get the same convenience, but with a bit more privacy, quiet, and fewer critters!
