Disney World is changing, and it will start to look completely different in 2025!

There are so many new projects on the horizon at Disney World, and construction is expected to start in 2025. While you can plan to see construction across all four parks, new offerings will open in 2025, including two new lounges, Test Track 3.0, a new Magic Kingdom nighttime parade, and Zootopia: Better Zoogether

Not only are the parks receiving upgrades, but a brand new hotel perk will also debut for Disney World resort guests. With all these changes, these five Disney World trends are on the verge of extinction.

As Walt Disney once said, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” The same goes for Disney World, as all four parks are about to see major changes over the next few years. These changes mean that these five Disney World trends are on the verge of extinction.

Escaping to Tom Sawyer Island

It was announced that a brand new Cars expansion would be coming to Magic Kingdom’s Frotinerland! While this new area will bring two new rides, it, unfortunately, means that both Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America will close.

We love to escape to Tom Sawyer Island for a mid-day break to beat the crowds. While no closing date has been announced, it was confirmed that work would start in 2025. So take it all in while you can before the peaceful atmosphere of Tom Sawyer Island is no longer.

Nighttime Cruising on the Liberty Square Riverboat

As mentioned above, along with Tom Sawyer Island, the Rivers of America is closing, which means the Liberty Square Riverboard will not have any water to operate in.

At night, the Liberty Square Riverboat offers gorgeous views of Frontierland and looks so pretty when it is lit up. But alas, we know its closure is imminent.

Dapper Days is a tradition at both Disneyland and Disney World. Each year, people dress in their finest and enjoy a day in the Magic Kingdom. Some Dapper Day outfits take inspiration from Disney characters and attractions in the parks.

People love to use the Liberty Square Riverboat as a backdrop for their pictures, and unfortunately, 2025 could potentially be the last year to pose with it.

Quoting DINOSAUR

Soon, DinoLand U.S.A. will see its first phase of closures on January 13th. The last day to experience TriceraTop Spin, the Fossil Fun Games, and the charming shop Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures will be January 12th.

The full Tropical Americas re-theme is set to be completed in 2027. While Disney has said you still have time to experience DINOSAUR, we know a closure date will have to be announced eventually.

DINOSAUR

Just like the stretching room spiel in The Haunted Mansion, DINOSAUR has iconic lines like “We’re not going to make it!” and “Let’s go get that dino!” While these famous lines will live on in our hearts, we fear we may not have much time to quote DINOSAUR in the parks.

Less Crowded Water Park Days

A new Disney World resort guest perk is set to debut in 2025! Guests will receive free admission to a Disney World water park on their day of check-in.

Currently, Disney World operates only one water park at a time. Blizzard Beach just recently opened for the season and will remain open during the colder months. While people still visit the water park during the winter season, it tends to be less crowded.

We feel that there will no longer be a slow season for Disney World’s water parks, as many resort guests will want to take advantage of this new perk.
