Disney4me
We are less than two months away from the start of 2025! Magic Kingdom Disney World will see significant changes when the new year rolls around. The first round of closures will hit DinoLand U.S.A., and we can expect to see construction start on projects in all four parks. So many new offerings will open, including two new lounges, Test Track 3.0, Zootopia: Better Zoogether, Disney Starlight, The Little Mermaid—A Musical Adventure, and the Disney Villains stage show. Whew! That is a lot of change in one year! While Disney World is the one calling the shots on changes, we want to throw our hat in the ring as we hope these four things change in Disney World in 2025! It can be hard to deal with change, especially when it sometimes means having to let go of the past, like Tom Sawyer Island and DinoLand U.S.A., to welcome the new. While some Disney World changes have been controversial, we feel our four suggestions will be more well-liked. The endangered Tom Sawyer Island We Hope for No More Virtual Queue at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Currently, only two attractions at Disney World use the Virtual Queue system, Cosmic Rewind, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. TRON Lightcycle / Run officially stopped using the system a few months ago. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Now, it is unlikely that Disney would do away with the Virtual Queue system as it is a way to manage lines for some of their most popular attractions, but we have a feeling that it may be time to say goodbye to the Cosmic Rewind Virtual Queue. When May of 2025 rolls around, Cosmic Rewind will have been using Virtual Queue for THREE YEARS! As it stands right now, Cosmic Rewind holds the record for having Virtual Queue the longest. We hope Disney finally decides to say goodbye to Virtual Queue for this attraction. Cosmic Rewind Loading Area We Hope Both Water Parks Operate at the Same Time Currently, Disney World only has one water park open at a time, but believe it or not, Disney used to actually have both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon open together during the summer months! Typhoon Lagoon Blizzard Beach just took over for Typhoon Lagoon and will be the water park open for now. In 2025, the new hotel water park perk starts. Guests staying at a Disney World resort will receive free admission to one of Disney World’s water parks (depending on which is open at the time) on their check-in day. While this perk is a great way to spend time waiting for your room to be ready, we fear that this could cause large crowds if only one water park is open at a time. Blizzard Beach We will have to wait and see how this perk works and what the crowds look like, but we have our fingers crossed that Disney World will at least have both parks open for the summer months. Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach We Hope Disney World Brings Back More Free Perks While the water park perk for hotel guests is a good start, we miss free MagicBands and free airport transportation! We miss the Magical Express. Now, we know that Lightning Lanes will never be free like FastPass+ once was, but we really hope that Disney either brings back some of the old free hotel perks or supplements them with new perks. ©Disney — Once upon a time, Disney hotel guests used to be able to choose a free MagicBand. We Hope Disney World Gets Rid of the Park Pass Reservation System When Disney World reopened after the pandemic, it introduced Park Passes to manage crowds in the parks. But now, Park Passes pretty much only affect Annual Passholders. Disney World Annual Pass While Disney World has relaxed some of these restrictions and introduced Good-to-Go Days, we are ready to see Park Passes disappear! Magic Kingdom Annual Passholder Entrance We will have to wait and see if Disney decides to implement some of our ideas in 2025.
