“We call it EPCOT. Spelled E-P-C-O-T.” With these words, Walt Disney introduced the “Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.”

But today — in one location of EPCOT — the “C” stands for something different. Making its debut at the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays is a brand new Holiday Kitchen: Experimental Prototype COOKIES of Tomorrow! And, just as we are with all of the other Holiday Kitchens (also known as Food Booths) at the Festival, we’re paying a visit to this new food booth to bring you our full review!

Atmosphere

Before we dive into the eats and drinks at Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow, we thought we’d mention its location in CommuniCore Hall.

Communicore Hall

CommuniCore Hall isn’t only home to this new Holiday Kitchen, though…it’s also where you can see a brand-new version of one of Disney World’s famous Gingerbread Displays: the Gingerbread Spaceship Earth!

Disney has shared that it took over 160 hours to create the display. It even lights up and “dances” to music, AND features 11 hidden Mickeys that represent the 11 countries of the World Showcase.

So what, exactly, does that have to do with Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow? You’re about to find out…

Menu

It probably comes as no surprise that Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow has a cookie as its spotlight item: this is where you’ll find the Spaceship Earth Tile Gingerbread Triangle. Cookie decorating kits are also up for grabs if you want to make the design your own!

To pair with your tile, you can grab a cup of Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s Coffee, a Gingerbread Milk Shake with or without whipped cream vodka, Seasonal Wine, Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co. Gingerbread White Stout, or 81Bay Brewing Co. Gingerbread Coffee Porter.

Here we go!

Eats

Brand new this year, in honor of the new Spaceship Earth Gingerbread Display is the Spaceship Earth Tile Gingerbread Triangle for a whopping $10!

Spaceship Earth Tile Gingerbread Triangle

This item is in keeping with traditional Gingerbread Displays around Disney World, like the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House, where you can purchase a Gingerbread Shingle as you admire the display. Of course, this version of Spaceship Earth is comprised of Gingerbread tiles, so that’s what’s on the menu! A Gingerbread Tile also counts towards a stamp if you’re participating in the Holiday Cookie Stroll.

Very chewy

In fact, the taste of this gingerbread also reminds us of the softer gingerbread you can find at the Grand Floridian, so if you’re a fan of crunchy gingerbread, this won’t be for you. The icing on top was VERY hard, so hard that it quite literally fell off the cookie, and the milk chocolate coating on the bottom was hard as well. We enjoyed the flavor of the milk chocolate, but the cookie as a whole wasn’t worth $10 to us, even if you adore gingerbread.

Drinks

Returning this year is the Gingerbread Milk Shake for $4.75. This milkshake wasn’t bad by any means, but it is a relatively simple shake. That’s not a bad thing, especially since the price isn’t bad, but you really have to like gingerbread for this milkshake to be a hit for you. Otherwise, you may feel underwhelmed and wish you had spent your money on another item instead.

You can choose to order the non-alcoholic version, or of-age guests can try it with whipped cream vodka for $12.

Additional options include a classic Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s Coffee for $4. Beer drinkers have a couple of options: the Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co. Gingerbread White Stout and the 81Bay Brewing Co. Gingerbread Coffee Porter, both $12 each.

OVERALL

While we think this booth is super cute and we adore the idea, if you’re not a gingerbread fan, you’ll want to skip it as a whole. And while the milkshake was cute, we don’t think it’s necessarily worth a stop if you’re not already nearby, and there are loads of other gingerbread cookie treats out there that are cheaper (and better tasting) than the gingerbread triangle.
