Disney4me
How much cash are you willing to shell out for an elite dessert? Amorette’s Patisserie Let’s face it, visiting Disney World doesn’t happen without dropping a pretty penny. Sure, there are obvious expenses like park tickets, Lightning Lane passes, and lodging, but if you’re a dessert fiend like us, you can quickly rack up a large bill just on sweets alone. Some desserts at Disney World come with a hefty price tag, including a couple at Amorett’s Patisserie in Disney Springs. In fact, we stopped by to try a few EXPENSIVE Disney holiday desserts! How much is too much for a good cake? Well, we spent $67 on a specialty cake at Amorette’s Patisserie and we have to tell you all about it! Amorette’s Patisserie spread The cake is a part of some seasonal offerings at Amorette’s, which will be available for a limited time this winter. Amorette’s Holiday Collection If you’ve ever wanted a large Mickey dome cake themed after a Christmas toy solider, you’re in luck! Toy Solider Mickey Dome Cake The Toy Soldier Mickey Dome Cake at Amorette’s Patisserie is made with chocolate chiffon, milk chocolate mousse, and coconut-pecan filling and will set you back a whopping $67 before tax. Amorette’s Patisserie sells year-round $67 specialty dome cakes that serve 8 to 10 people, but this one in particular is available only until December 31st, 2024. It’s so shiny! The presentation of this cake is outstanding, but $67 is a steep price. The design is very cute though, and we are fans of the chocolate decorations. As for the cake itself, it’s like a German chocolate cake coated in a thick outer layer of fluffy chocolate mousse. Ours had a great texture and was very similar to the regular dome cake. Inside the cake Be careful taking this outside, because we found that things in the atmosphere would stick to it. Because of this, we devoured it inside and we’re happy to report that it’s pretty good! The cake is super sugary and packed with flavor and, overall, we were mostly satisfied. Still, with that price tag, this is more of a special occasion cake, especially if you don’t plan on sharing it with multiple people. We love how unique it looks and we’d get it again, but that price tag is super offputting. Plenty of sugary bites If you want a specialty holiday cake but don’t want to drop around $70, check out the Christmas Present Petit Cake! This cake is very similar to the Toy Soldier Mickey Dome Cake and is also made with chocolate chiffon, milk chocolate mousse, and coconut-pecan filling. However, this much smaller cake is $22 before tax, which is still expensive but a far cry from $67. Christmas Present Petit Cake This dessert also has a ton of German chocolate cake vibes and has a little gel center, as well. Ours wasn’t dense at all and was very light, which was appreciated. This is another adorable cake and the”Dear Santa” scroll and little sugar stocking stuffers were really great additions. A light cake Overall, this is a pretty tasty treat and is super photogenic, if that’s something you want with your desserts. Be sure to grab one before it disappears after December 28th, 2024! Very tasty We tried a couple of desserts under $10, including this Christmas Snickerdoodle Cookie Croissant for $8.25. This dessert is made with croissant dough, a Snickerdoodle cookie, and a holiday sprinkle plaque. This cookie croissant is available through December 31st, 2024. Christmas Snickerdoodle Cookie Croissant Unfortunately, our Christmas Snickerdoodle Cookie Croissant was a little too hard. It was difficult to break through and we were hoping that it would be a bit lighter. The taste also didn’t blow us away. We got hints of the Snickerdoodle, which was akin in flavor to gingerbread, but it was so tough to get past the crunch. It’s an OK treat, but nothing special. This guy was TOUGH Finally, we tried the Winter Macaron Sandwich, which is made with macaron, almond cheesecake, and cranberry-cherry jam. This $7.50 treat is available at Amorette’s Patisserie now through January 4th, 2025. Winter Macaron Sandwich This dessert reminded us of an almond cheesecake. The macaron itself was pretty standard and was dyed blue. However, the cranberry cherry jam is the star here. We got cream cheese and black cherry flavors, making the jam a very pleasant surprise. The gold flakes and little sprinkles at the top were also super cute. Overall, this small treat was a big win and we’d happily get this again! The inside is deceptively delicious Expensive Disney World desserts can often be very tasty, but many times they can fall just outside a budget. For example, we’ve gone over how prices at the new Cake Bake Shop can be too much, but you can find suitable slices of cake at Gideon’s Bakehouse that are more than $10 cheaper! Did someone say CAKE?! If something like the Cake Bake Shop’s prices put you off, try the Magic Cookie Bar from Roaring Fork in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. It’s only $4.79 and super tasty! Magic Cookie Bar Another good budget snack that’s one of our favorites is Werther’s Caramel Butter Bar, which can be found at several different locations in Disney World. Iconic If you’re willing to go up in price, check out the No Way Jose at Beaches & Cream Soda Shoppe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort! This treat is $13.50 but is pretty large. If you want to save some money or don’t have the appetite, try the also-tasty-yet-smaller All-American Sundae at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in Magic Kingdom.
