Disney4me
As we near the end of 2024, you will find lists upon lists of recaps of the year. You can see the top trends and most popular styles, and you will also find lists of the top travel destinations of the year. ©Louisville Tourism Here at DFB, we are a bit biased in favor of Disney World and Disneyland, but we were happy to see THIS city show up on a variety of lists as a top destination for food and travel. While it isn’t Orlando or Anaheim, you may want to add this city to your travel list. According to WLKY, Louisville, KY, made it on MORE than 15 media outlets as one of the best places to travel in 2024. Some of the city’s accolades include “Best Place to Travel in 2024” by Travel + Leisure, “Top Trending Destinations Locals Love” by Airbnb, “The South’s Best Cities 2024” by Southern Living, and “The World’s Best Travel Destinations in 2024” by Culture.org. This year, the city hosted events like the Kentucky Derby 150 and the PGA Championship, and the food scene continues to develop. ©Louisville Tourism While you won’t find a Disney park in Louisville, you will find some great attractions and fantastic dining options. We may have a soft spot for Disney food, but we also have some favorites in Louisville that you need to check out if you are ever there. ©Louisville Tourism Proof on Main is a great spot for cocktails with an art gallery ambiance. We also think you need to stop by Jack Fry’s for a classic elevated dining experience with French/Southern fusion food. Also, make sure to check out La Bodeguita de Mima for some wonderful Cuban food and all the nostalgia. You can’t beat Highland Morning for breakfast — we highly recommend the biscuits and gravy here, yum! Finally, if you are looking for some cheap eats, you need to stop by Taco City. While the whole menu is great, our favorite is definitely the birria tacos. Plus, there is so much to do beyond just eating and drinking your way around the city (although you could also spend your whole time doing this too). You will also find more than 120 attractions, including Churchill Downs, the Kentucky Derby Museum, the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, and so much more.
