Disney4me
The holiday season is one of the busiest times of the year at Disney World. New Year’s Eve 2024 Disney World knows how to celebrate, and that is why so many people choose to ring in the New Year at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Last night, Disney World welcomed 2025 with DJs, dance parties, and fireworks, which drew huge crowds to the parks. With crowds comes longer wait times for attractions, and since there are so many people trying to ride these attractions, it can make wait times and crowds even worse when rides temporarily close. We were shocked by the number of attractions that were temporarily down on New Year’s Day 2025 at Disney World. Disney World must have been tired from all the celebrating on New Year’s Eve because it was a rough morning as three attractions were closed by 9:15AM. In EPCOT, the Seas with Nemo and Freinds was temporarily closed, and in Hollywood Studios, Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster starring Aerosmith was also closed. In Magic Kingdom, one of its most popular attractions, Space Mountain, was closed as well. Space Mountain Not too long after its temporary closure, Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster got it together and opened, and soon after, The Seas with Nemo and Friends was also back up and running. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster As if Magic Kingdom was not struggling enough, by 10:25AM, both Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean were down. Pirates of the Caribbean While it may not be the most popular ride in the park, TriceraTop Spin has less than two weeks of operation left before it closes as part of the phase one closure of DinoLand to make way for the new Tropical Americas-themed land, Pueblo Esperanza. Those looking to take one last spin on the attraction may have been disappointed to see that the ride went down around 10:50AM today. TriceraTop Spin EPCOT saw another ride closure at around 11:15AM as Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure went down. This attraction is super popular as it opened at the end of 2021 and often has high wait times. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Just a little after noon, all attractions were back up and running! New Year’s Day crowds in Magic Kingdom It can be a bummer when attractions go down, especially on busy days like New Year’s Day. Remember to pack your patience and set expectations that you may not be able to ride everything you wanted to due to long wait times. But hey, a day at Disney World is better than a day at home!
