Recommended Posts

It seems like EVERYTHING is changing in Orlando. Disney World is about to go through some MAJOR changes in all four of its parks with new lands, new rides, expansions, and more.

Universal Orlando will be opening Epic Universe next year, which will also include three new hotels. Well, Orlando International Airport is also changing in some HUGE ways, so apparently, 2024 and 2025 is the YEAR OF CHANGE in Orlando. So let’s talk about what’s recently changed and will be changing at our favorite airport.

So here’s what’s changed or is changing at Orlando International Airport (and seriously, y’all, we’re excited!).

Epic Universe Store

The next time you fly through Orlando International Airport, you’ll be able to visit the brand NEW Epic Universe Store. You’ll find it next to the regular Universal Orlando store in the space that used to be for pop-up shops for things like Halloween Horror Nights.

There it is!

We imagine you’ll be able to find all kinds of Epic Universe merchandise inside this new store similar to what you’ll find at the Epic Universe Preview Center at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk.

New restaurants

Okay, so we won’t lie when we say we’re excited about more food options at the airport because, let’s face it, unless you’re flying into or out of Terminal C, the food options right now are…well, slim to none. Well, eight local restaurants will soon make their way to the airport — and WE ARE SO READY.

The new restaurants will be Stasio’s Italian Deli, Smoke & Donuts, Kelly’s Ice Cream, SoDough Detroit Pizza, Milkhouse
Jam-Eng Caribbean and English Cuisine, 4 Rivers Smokehouse, and Otto’s High Dive. We can’t wait to try out all the new food.

Updated logo and branding

If you’ve been to Orlando International Airport recently, you may have noticed that the airport looks a little different. The airport got a brand new logo and branding, which you can see all over the airport. Even the airport’s website got a makeover — and we’re loving it.

You might also have noticed that the airport’s app looks different — it also got a complete overhaul. It’s more user-friendly now and it’s easier to find airport information than ever, so be sure to check it out.

Parking guidance system

Orlando International Airport has invested $10 million into improving its parking situation. The airport will install Parking Guidance System technology into its parking structures similar to the system at Disney Springs where digital boards display how many spots are left in a given lot as well as red and green lights above spots to let you know which ones are empty or occupied.

The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) Board also recently approved a contract for Curbside Traffic Management Services that would keep traffic flows going at the Terminal A, B, and C curbs.

Terminal C expansion

Terminal C is still pretty new, but Orlando International Airport is already making plans to expand it. The airport was recently awarded $69 million in federal funds for two Terminal C expansion projects. One of the projects will provide four new Multiple Aircraft Ramp System gates, allowing “either four wide body or eight narrow body aircraft” to be served at the gate.

The second project is to create a 450-foot enclosed pedestrian bridge that will allow passengers to walk directly from the Brightline train station to Terminal C.
