Disney4me
It’s still early 2025, but we’re still thinking about everything that’s happening throughout this year in Disney World because, y’all, it’s going to be A LOT. Magic Kingdom Three out of Disney World’s four parks are getting massive changes. We’ve got new lands coming to Magic Kingdom (PLUS a Frontierland expansion), Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A new version of Test Track will be opening in EPCOT. A new nighttime parade will be coming to Magic Kingdom. Of course, with all this change, a lot of things will close this year. So there are a lot of things you’ll do in Disney World in 2025 for the last time. If you visit Disney World in 2025, make sure to do these things because, by the end of the year, they will be gone forever. See Tom Sawyer Island Tom Sawyer Island will be going away forever to make way for the Cars expansion that’s coming to Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. So if this is a place you like hanging out at, you’ll want to get there for the last time before construction begins. We know a lot of folks with kids LOVE this space, so you’ll want to say goodbye before it’s gone. Tom Sawyer Island Disney has not yet confirmed when construction will begin, but permits have already been filed to begin work on the Cars expansion. The Complicated Reason We’re Not Sold on the New Cars Land at Magic Kingdom Ride Liberty Square Riverboat Rivers of America is also going away to make way for the Cars expansion in Magic Kingdom. That means the Liberty Square Riverboat will be permanently going out of commission, so you won’t be able to ride it once construction on the expansion starts. Liberty Square Riverboat Again, we don’t have a set date for the construction, but we expect this area to close sometime in 2025, so you’ll want to grab a ride on the Liberty Belle Riverboat one last time this year. Everything That Has to Permanently Close to Make Way for the ‘Cars’ Expansion in Disney World See It’s Tough To Be A Bug It’s Tough To Be A Bug in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is set to close its doors forever on March 17th, 2025. If you are visiting Disney World before then, you’ll want to catch the show before it’s gone. This show, located inside the Tree of Life, will be replaced by a new Zootopia show. It’s Tough To Be A Bug Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is expected to open in winter 2025, so there is at least one thing you’ll be able to do for the first time in Disney World, too. Will These Closures Make Disney’s Animal Kingdom A Half Day Park? Ride Dinosaur Over in DinoLand, U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom, several rides and shops have already closed to make way for construction on a new land, Pueblo Esperanza. The good news is that Dinosaur is still open…for now. Dr. Grant Seeker will be unemployed soon Disney recently revealed that DinoLand, U.S.A. will have a phased closure while Disney builds the new land, and Dinosaur will be available throughout 2025 to ride. However, this will be the last year you’ll have a chance to “go get that dino.” 3 Game-Changing Updates Announced for Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2025 Eat at Restaurantosaurus Speaking of DinoLand, U.S.A., Restaurantosaurus will also be eventually closing to make way for Pueblo Esperanza. Now, this might not mean you’ll be dashing to Animal Kingdom to eat here one last time, but we will mourn for the loss of all the cool details you’ll find at this dining spot. Restaurantosaurus So even if you don’t want to have a burger or some chicken strips at Restaurantosaurus, take time to pop in and say goodbye. REVIEW: Sometimes, You Just Want a Simple, Easy Meal in Disney World. Restaurantosaurus Got You. See Muppet*Vision 3D Okay, this one HURTS. Muppet*Vision 3D in Disney’s Hollywood Studios will close its doors forever on June 7th. Yes, the last Muppets project that Jim Henson worked on is closing (although Disney has promised that it’s trying to figure out how to carry on the legacy of the attraction). Muppet*Vision 3D All of Muppets Courtyard will be closing to make way for construction on a new Monsters, Inc. land — and we’re not okay. When Is Demolition Day at Muppets Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? Ride the Aerosmith version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster There is some good news about the Muppets, though. They’ll still have an attraction in Hollywood Studios — the Muppets will be moving over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to replace Aerosmith. So if you love the Aerosmith version of the ride, you’ll want to go for a spin on it before it goes away forever. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster If you miss the last ride on that stretch limo, though, maybe the Muppets version of the ride will feature at least one Aerosmith song covered by Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. The Problem with the NEW Closure of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Eat at Mama Melrose’s and PizzeRizzo Yes, we’ve previously compared Mama Melrose’s to Olive Garden (and we have ZERO regrets because sometimes Olive Garden hits JUST SO), but we’re going to miss having a meal here from time to time when it also goes away to make way for the Monsters, Inc. land. Also, you know how we feel about PizzeRizzo…seriously, it’s a pizza joint owned by a rat, but still…nostalgia will have us miss it. PizzeRizzo So if you visit Disney World before May 10th, be sure to get that dining reservation for Mama Melrose’s. And pop into PizzeRizzo before June 7th, when it closes for good. Review: Order Anything BUT the Pizza at PizzeRizzo in Disney World You’ll want to head to Disney World this year if you want to catch a last ride or last meal at these spots. Soon, they’ll all only be a distant memory. Stay tuned to DFB for more.
