Disney4me
Construction has once again struck one of Disney World’s most popular hotel pools! Pool closure Choosing the right Disney World hotel for your next trip can be one of the most exciting parts of planning your vacation. With so many things to see, do, and experience at the hotels, finding the right one that suits your style and budget can really help build some unexpected playtime into your memories. However, sometimes construction woes can hit even the best Disney World hotels and cause closures for longer than anticipated and we’re here to give you the breakdown on one of the latest. Everyone seems to have their list of the best Disney World hotels that fit their style and type of vacation they envision. That dream is made even more realized when you can pack in a really awesome feature pool into the mix too. But, recently one of Disney World’s most popular hotel pools has been problematic as of late. Stormalong Bay Disney’s Beach Club Resort’s feature pool, Stormalong Bay, unfortunately is no stranger to lengthy construction. We’ve known for a while that one of the “best” pools in all of Disney World’s hotels would be closing starting in January 2025. Originally, this closure was planned through May however, that was extended through June shortly afterwards. This new closure comes on the heels after 2 rounds of refurbishments in February and September 2024. Pool construction This was especially important to note since many Disney World vacationers plan their vacations months and even years in advance of their visit, leaving some to plan on staying at other hotels. Now that we’re in the throws of that early leg of the closure, we recently stopped by the hotel to have a look around and see what was being worked on currently. Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Beach Club As you walk up to the pool’s entrance gates, you’ll see signs posted that Stormalong Bay is currently closed and advising swimming elsewhere. Stormalong Bay closure sign As we walked around we could see what looked like refurbishment taking place on the pool deck concrete… Concrete work …as well as moving some of the sand around the beach area. Sand With this extended construction, Shipwreck Pool, which is geared more for little ones, is also closed. It seems like there’s quite a bit of action happening around the pool area leading us to believe this refurbishment and construction could truly warrant its full extent of expected time closed.
